285: Apex World Cup FINAL + Voicemails
https://linktr.ee/AlmostDoneStu
Speaker 1: What's up everyone?
Speaker 2: Welcome back to another edition of the Grab My Banner Podcast,
Episode number two eighty five, and ladies and gentlemen, we're
gonna cut right to the chase. Nothing going on in
Apex right now other than the event, the Cyberpunk event,
which is still badass.
Speaker 1: Don't get me twisted. It's really cool, it's really sick.
Speaker 2: You should go check out the brand new version of
e District Knights City, along with all the brand new skins.
Speaker 1: All of that.
Speaker 2: We had the Skin Safari for that last week. But
we're gonna get straight into the Apex Legends World Cup.
We have the semi final and the third place game
and the final all in one episode, along with some
voicemails to close out and round out one of our
favorite favorite segments we've had over the last few months.
So we're let's get straight into it. Let's go all right,
ladies and gents, let's get to it.
Speaker 1: Here.
Speaker 2: We've got the Apex Legends World Cup semi finals. We've
gone through the Round of thirty two, the round of sixteen,
round of eight, and now we are down to just
the final four here, and these are gonna be some
crazy matchups, insane that we made a random bracket me
Kyle Nate, and we didn't put any seeds. We just
threw them in there, and we've ended up with some
pretty decent matchups here, some good games in the real
life World Cup. I think the one to two Reinforce
seed all made the final four, and I think in
this one, if you look at it, I think we couldn't.
I think this would be one, two, three and four.
I think it'd be hard to beat these four characters
on any side of the bracket. You've got Axel and
sparrow Ash and Pathfinder.
Speaker 1: Based on the.
Speaker 2: Rules set that we have put forth, this has to
be maybe octane, maybe yeah, maybe octane.
Speaker 1: In one of them, he got a pretty bad run,
pretty bad matchup. There was a few.
Speaker 2: There's some haram Ball ones that could have went deeper
had they not played like.
Speaker 1: Yeah, there's some other ones to start with, a few
guys that just had the ability to do stuff. But
the matchups like who played against Fuse was that Caustic
Watson was another one that, yeah.
Speaker 3: That's just two characters that get absolutely fucked.
Speaker 1: Yeah, and then what was another one that just like
a few messed up that entire left side, the entire
first side of the bracket.
Speaker 3: I think it's just like any of the defensive legends
just get cocked.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 2: I also think Newcastle being in the same group as
a Sparrow or was it Axel both, It doesn't matter.
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I guess they were on the same side,
like yeah, and then also just having like I think
Newcastle was a big one. I actually think uh Gibraltar
had a tough matchup mm hm Horizon. I think could
have had as much as suck. She would have been
decent against somebody like a Valk or maybe a Pathfinder
or something just Valkyrie. That there was a few that
could have really made a push for it. Man, some
of these top end legends are just insane.
Speaker 2: Yeah, so boys, let's get to it here. Our first
matchup Axel versus Sparrow. You have the woman, the brand
new legend who has no acls to tear, and then
you have the soccer playing Italian who can double jump
in the air.
Speaker 1: All of them. Those bicycle kicks will be nasty. They
will be nasty, but Axel will also be there in
the air. I don't know if she'll be in the air.
She does have the ability to cut down the field
extremely quick. Yeah, but can they the passive to just
stay airborne for so long?
Speaker 2: All right, let's do this. Let's go, let's go to
both of them and we'll do a pros and cons.
Let's start off with Axel. Pros for Axel very fast.
Speaker 1: Yeah, incredible horizontal mobility, yes, incredible Yeah, yeah, all over
the place. Yeah, just the horizontal mobility is the big thing.
Speaker 2: Might be the matchup of the worst hair versus the
best hair too. I mean there's it's truly it's truly
bad hair with truly great hair.
Speaker 1: You could you can make that point of the rivals. Yeah, now,
uh a con.
Speaker 4: A con for Axle is that Sparrow can use her tacticals.
Speaker 1: That was what I was about to say. Cons. Another
con is little to no verticality that at this point
in the stage. That is a real factor. Yeah, the
verticality there, and it's what it's a passive for the slide,
but the attack is really with the speed boost.
Speaker 3: Yes, and the passive for the slide is just better
control while sliding. Yeah, it's not keeps momentum longer, which
is good.
Speaker 1: But I think we're into the box. Driving into the
box is going to be great. But like that does
nothing defensively, No, no, not against against.
Speaker 2: But she's all offense. She's never had to worry about defense.
I don't think up until this point.
Speaker 1: And now she's playing against someone who can play ball.
She she's going up against somebody who can play ball.
Speaker 2: It's do sparrow pros of the got vert He's got
vertical verticality is just unparalleled in this matchup. Yeah, he's
got verticality if he ever makes it into the box,
gets a corner kick, whatever it may.
Speaker 1: Be, he has. Yeah, he has absolute advantage. The off
angles that they can take because of that and all.
It's a passive so they all get it. The off
angles that they can take because that in the box
is insane. Defensively, the goalie being able to jump and
double jump can cover so much.
Speaker 2: Range that one could get them in some hot water. Sometimes.
I think you could. You could trick the goalie into
going up go down.
Speaker 5: If he makes one good save, though you have like
six other axles just sliding into the box ready to like.
Speaker 1: He's got to he's got to catch it. Yeah, he's
got to catch He's got to make the save.
Speaker 2: Now, cons it's going to be a really high scoring
game regardless of I agree, I agree the cons he
does not have the speed of of axe. Well, he
can use her tax but break up. I'm sure that
she's going to be the one throwing those close by
to make a play. And then the other one is
his tactical is pretty much.
Speaker 1: Useless in this. Yeah, his tactical is useless. But again,
the tactical is the least important part of the entire legend. Yeah,
he also is a known ballplayer to begin with, Like,
I feel like we have if we took him pathfiners
Lord always fuck shut up. We have to at least
acknowledge that he actually does play soccer.
Speaker 3: Yeah, he's I feel like he's an athletic guy. It's
once once again one of those things where like I think,
if he gets in the box, I think here's a
pretty good chance he could score.
Speaker 1: I'm just thinking, like you think of a header right
of a corner kick as one of the best scoring
chances in all soccer? Am I correct about that?
Speaker 2: It's like, if you have a guy who can get
up like that, yeah, then yeah.
Speaker 1: And not only do.
Speaker 4: He gives good head.
Speaker 1: Everyone chance, everyone does it on that team everyone on
that team gives good head mate and in tying them
with that, you don't even have to do corner kicks
at that point you don't like you you just have
to do any kick. Can you just kick it high
over the middle and tell them go up and get
it now on the flip side, hmm. I do think that.
Speaker 2: I think Spara is going to have to start off
this game basically playing her on ball. I think Axel
is going to be the one controlling the ball, and
Sparrow will play on the counter because of the fear
of the speed. Because if you let an axe will
get behind you with the ball, it's basically over. She
can slide forever. She can control the ball forever, and
then she can just get in and do whatever. And
she can throw two tacticals down. So let's say they
kick one deep and gets to it. The other Axle
can just throw one down and meet her on the
other side and it's to tappen. So I think Sparrow
has to start on the counter, and I think he
has to play good defense, which I think he can.
Speaker 1: He's got to play. If anyone's gonna play solid ball,
it's going to be him. Exactly.
Speaker 2: I think he's gonna have a ton of solid defense
to start, and then he's going to have to go
on the counter. And that depends on if we think
how many how many mistakes Axle's going to make?
Speaker 1: Question, would you trust Sparrow to juggle a ball and
not drop it? Yes? Do we trust Sparrow to do
that while airborne? It's a little bit more difficult. But
do you see what I'm saying is like it's again
getting back to that whole Rocket League conversation of if
someone can a reel and just maintain ball in the air,
he only has to actually score once maybe twice, and
then he just plays hurn ball, but plays ron ball
in air. The thing is, I think Axels a least
scoring two or three like to clear it out, is
what I'm saying. Yeah, if you gain possession, if you're
up by a score and you gain possession, you keep
ball in air as long as possible. If you don't
have a good pass to get out of it, or
something goes away, your guy falls down, whatever it is,
you just launch it deep and reset.
Speaker 2: So here's my question to you guys. I think for
sure Axel's gonna get two to three. Do we think
Sparrow has it in in to score four?
Speaker 1: I think Sparrow score five to six. What do you
think Kyle? The reason I say it real fast because
in case you're not thinking of a Kyle Nate, In
case you're not thinking of it, the ability to derive down,
get into the box, and be able to pass it
in air opposite side of the goalie last second. The
angles that they have to cover are so unique and
so different on that I don't see it being a
I don't see any benefits of the goalie in that
it doesn't matter how many defenders you put above in
front of the box. If you're aiming above and behind
the defenders, like when someone's standing behind cover and you're
on high ground, you could still shoot them. It's the
same vantage point. And he is one of the few
legends that the entire team has the ability to do
that at any given time.
Speaker 2: He does jump a little bit higher than the goal,
which would make it you'd have to hit it download down.
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a downward shot. It's down, but it's downward
shot angled behind them. Yeah, it just it's a it's
a tough thing to block. It's a tough.
Speaker 2: It's a little I think it's actually a little bit
easier for the goalie, but still not.
Speaker 1: Not uh not impossible. I don't. I don't think it's
easier when there's multiple angles it can come from, because
there's multiple people up in that air. It's like imagine
everybody being able to take a nasty ass header every time.
Speaker 3: This is what I'm thinking, I think because both of
them have very powerful offensive you know abilities, I'm trying
to think. I think Axel's ability actually hurts defensively almost.
Speaker 1: Because if you get too far ahead.
Speaker 3: You get too far ahead, like say they trick you
to one side, you can't really once your momentum starts moving,
you can't really shake it and go back.
Speaker 1: The other way.
Speaker 2: Here's the other thing I'm thinking about some stuff. But
the other thing I'm thinking about, though, is if you're
an Axel and you know that he can jump, and
all of them can jump that high, do you even
try to defend it in air? Or do you just
straight up play the most Harama haram ball and put
everybody on the line.
Speaker 1: But you do that saying but also like what are
you gonna do if Axual tax will on defense? It's
a detriment to the team, absolute detriment to the team.
Sparrow may not have attacked the does anything, but Axel,
just as well as being able to use tag for benefit,
can very well be attack or an attack that just
absolutely hurts them.
Speaker 2: Well, I'm thinking like Sparrow's in her box and all
of them are like jumping. I feel like if you're
actually like, we're not even gonna jump with Sparrow, We're
gonna just lock it down as close to the goalie
as possible, because unlike in hockey where people are like,
why can't you just put everybody in front of the net,
like it's not that simple, in soccer they actually do that.
Sometimes they will they will put like two or three
guys back there, not in like Tensionally, I think sometimes
defenders are just like, I'm going to help out.
Speaker 1: My goaliecause the goal is way bigger.
Speaker 2: I wonder if if that's a play from Axel where
it's like we can't compete with that height, like there's
no way we're gonna do it, so we might as
well just do the most ridiculous.
Speaker 1: Thing out how tall is Axel? I could try to
look it up. I'm sure, there's a staf on that
how tall is Axel? Well, if Axel is like five
foot five, then I don't think it matters.
Speaker 2: Now I got to go off of ai on here,
uh five ten Sparrows tall, I think it matters less
for Sparrow ape I think he can't get hot.
Speaker 1: Well, I'm thinking of actual Spara's five eight. That's average.
Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, but I'm just saying like I would
have thought he was way taller than that.
Speaker 4: But at least be a little intimidated by her.
Speaker 1: Yeah, with that awful haircut. You know what, I bet
she was five eight before the fucking the extension. That's
probably what it was. It was. I don't know. This
one's stumping me, but it's.
Speaker 3: I really think that Sparrow has more defensive capabilities than
what Axle can provide. Because if you're talking about her
playing round ball, think of his. They all sit in
front of the goal and then they have double jumps.
You're telling me they're not blocking at least one of those.
Speaker 1: Yeah, defense, Yeah, it doesn't really. I don't think helps
as much on defense because you could just shoot low. Yeah,
you could shoot low, but you could also like it,
you have an easier time stopping, like the kicks to
the top corner.
Speaker 2: And yeah, but I think they game plan. I think
Actual game plans for that. She's like, I'm not even
gonna try to go for.
Speaker 1: And they just yeah, at that point, they just stay
low and you just neutralize fifty percent of the shots
on your goal without even having to do anything. But
you can't neutralize the speed. You can't neutralize the speed. No,
what you can do is when Actual eventually makes us
a mistake, which does happen, the fast break coming back
I believe is even stronger for uh, for Sparrow than
it is for Axual. Having speed, so you now have
horizontal movement and vertical movement. You're now multi dimensional in
that aspect, So like mistakes made by Axel would be
far more grave than I think mistakes made by Sparrow. Yeah,
it's basically who's gonna I don't Sparrow is Yeah, go ahead, No, No,
you can continue continue.
Speaker 4: I keep thinking that Axel's gonna win, But.
Speaker 5: I mean Sparrow has he basically gets all of Axel's
abilities because frankly, I don't think that the just like
her ability to have more control over her sliding like
taking sharper corners is gonna matter as much. So I
feel like she's just playing a stronger version of herself,
If that makes anse sense.
Speaker 1: I think it comes down to less of who's gonna
score more to who's gonna get exploited more, who's likely
to be hot slipping more often? Yeah, because they both
are going to be able to score. These are likely
the two highest scoring legends in the game, right, So
if that's the case, then it's not about who's going
to be able to have the most firepower. They're are
both up there. It comes down to who's able to
exploit the other team, who's able to have the weaknesses,
and who can't cover the other person.
Speaker 3: Let's say, let's let's put this in perspective though, Let's
think about this if one of them gets away on
a breakaway, because that's what we're thinking about Fraxel, Like,
she gets the ball, throws down, tack, gets way ahead
of everybody else. Do you think that she scores in
a one v one against Sparrow And do you think
if Sparrow gets a breakaway, does he score on a
one v one against Axel?
Speaker 2: I guess it just depends on the tack placement. But
I feel like, I feel like if axel is smart
unless the op opportunity is absolutely like you have to
I think you only throw down one tack out of
the two you can have, right, you only have one.
You can only have one, Okay, so you throw down
your one tack at the time. How many you have
the three on the field. How much time is in
between the tacks?
Speaker 3: Twenty seconds?
Speaker 2: Twenty seconds okay, So you probably wouldn't be able to
do that, so you'd have to just use the one.
You go for the chance. If you miss, it's a
long field. Eventually you're gonna get it back. It just
depends on because like Sparrow just doesn't have like when
the tack is not there. It's not that Sparrow runs
faster than her. They just both end up running the
same speed.
Speaker 3: But the problem is is now you've placed attack near
your goal.
Speaker 2: No, it'd be near his because you wouldn't. You wouldn't
place it like on your side of the ball.
Speaker 1: No, it's probably gonna be closer to midfield. It'd be
like midfield. Yeah. Yeah, So now there's a neutral zone
tack for speed boost where if the score does not
happen on a fast break for Axel. They left tools
in the middle of the field for Sparrow to come
back with.
Speaker 2: What they could do is an offside trap. Wherever they
threw that that tactical. So you push your guys up
to the point because then they just be off sides.
But that you'd have to do some you'd have to
do some tactical shit right there. Sometimes teams will do
that to try and force guys off sides. They will
just push it. They call it a high line. They'll
push the high line up. If Axel plays with the
high line, she could mess around and fuck him up.
It just depends on if she does that. If she
ever places a tactical on her side of the field
to try and get an offensive opportunity, might be one
of the most disastrous decisions you.
Speaker 1: Can I think that's kind of what I was referring to,
is like, yeah, you're gonna give Sparrow the momentum sliding
into the box with his double jump ability. That is
a recipe for disaster. Absolutely terrible choice. So she can't
use it on against Sparrow. She can't have the ability
to use it effectively on a third of the field
to begin with, she's able to use it on his side,
but now he has fastbreak to get out of his zone, right,
because that's the idea is like, if it's in his
zone and he somehow gets possession of ball, he now
has the ability to fast break the other direction and
create space. So I think in this situation that the
Axe attack is worse, but I think the Sparrow passive
is just as good as it's been.
Speaker 2: Okay, let's get a let's get to a deliberation here.
Who do you guys have moving on into the final?
Speaker 1: Here? I got Sparrow. Okay, I got Spara. I think
he's a better ballplayer. Kyle. Who do you got? What's
your score? Mine? Yeah? Four three? Okay, four to three Sparrow?
Speaker 3: Mine is I'm going Sparrow. I'm saying three to two.
Speaker 1: All right, I had four to three. I had it
for Axel Nate. Who'd you have?
Speaker 6: Ah?
Speaker 4: Man, uh, I believe it would be Sparrow.
Speaker 1: What's your score?
Speaker 7: Ah?
Speaker 1: Shit? Uh?
Speaker 4: What's a what's a bit high scoring game?
Speaker 1: And soccer? Four to three? Pretty high scoring? Okay?
Speaker 4: Well, I'd say it's probably.
Speaker 1: Eight six eight, six, six seven. It's going to be
a crazy game. Honestly, I could, I could see it.
That'd be fucking nuts.
Speaker 2: Okay, so Sparrow's going to move on to the final.
That leaves us with the last matchup of the semifinal,
and this one, I.
Speaker 5: Really hope that the listeners appreciate just like going through that.
Speaker 4: It's all.
Speaker 1: Not easy.
Speaker 2: It is not easy. Okay, last one. Here we've got
Ash versus Pathfinder, last matchup of the semi final. Here,
Ash versus Pathfinder. Now, this one's hard for me because
I have at both times, at both different times.
Speaker 1: I've loved both of these legends.
Speaker 4: Same.
Speaker 2: This is really difficult, like this is this is difficult.
Let's go through both of them. Pros and cons. Let's
start with Ash number one, tether. She has a great tactical.
Not a lot of legends in this have had a
great tactical. A lot of legends have had good passives,
but not a lot of legends have had great tacticals.
On top of that, she also has a good passive. Yes,
not a lot of characters have had both. I almost
none have had both, almost don't have had both. The
one the fact that she has both, and I don't
think they're both good.
Speaker 1: I think they're both elite. They're elite. You could there
is an argument that that passive is best in class. Yeah,
because it's still double dash, right, one single dash, but
it's still i mean, the the cool down on it's
like five seconds. The best thing about the dash is
not a forward dash. It's correctional. It's directional. It's horizontal
or backwards. That's where it's nasty. It's multi directional dash.
It's a freaking steph Curry's little side step he does.
Speaker 2: M Yeah, another pro might have the best goaltender in
the league with that ability.
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's pretty nasty. That might have the best goaltender
in the league. Probably the best potentially some of the
best midfield defense, yeah, in the game, which is the
tack the attack just being able to lock down and
completely zone on parts of the running lanes in front
of them, as well as potentially just stop a breakaway
on its own.
Speaker 2: You're essentially having like four midfielders exactly, because how many
tacks do they have? Just oh, you have three midfielders
then because you have the two ashes, and then you
have the one tack that you can use, yes.
Speaker 5: Yeah, and if you're in a one v one and
you get beat or like they dribble past you, you
can just dash backwards.
Speaker 4: Again and then they have to beat you in one
v one again.
Speaker 1: Yeah yeah that, or even if they beat you again,
you just turn around and tack them in stall out
again ntil you get dash back. Like, there's so much
it's going to be so hard to advance the ball
on the ground to them.
Speaker 3: So my main thing that I talked about last time
when she faced off against Revenant was revs only got
one jump m m. Think about pathfinders. Pathfinders got two.
Speaker 1: He's got two tacks.
Speaker 3: That means that even if you tack him and stick him,
he still got another one.
Speaker 1: Now let's go to ash CON's real quick.
Speaker 2: Is there any cons that stand out to you, because
like as I'm thinking about it, it's difficult.
Speaker 1: There is so there is no vertical movement. Yeah, okay,
there's no no verticount, and there's that vert account. That's
the big thing is you could put attack in front
of pathfinder and path can just go over it.
Speaker 2: Even if you did it to that pathfinder, you can't
do it to the other path exactly.
Speaker 1: And even if you move in a direction whatever it is.
Pathfinder does have the means to be able to adjust.
Stamina is going to be the same. They're both robots,
They're both strong, being able to do all that kind
of stuff and everything there. So I think box play
is going to be a factor. Path does have the
physical frame size advantage. Dog shit passive, dog shit passive.
Speaker 2: I love how you brought up his box play because
Pathfinder's got incredible box play. I mean, he is just
he made his box play might be one of the
some of the best box play.
Speaker 1: Path Under may have failed at every other job he's
had in his life, but his box play is unparalleled,
and that is why Ash keeps coming home.
Speaker 2: I mean, when you talk about box play, right, you
talk about box.
Speaker 1: Play, you think of this guy. You think of this guy.
And on top of that, like even when he gets
excited at going on that zip line, what's the man do?
He knows how to play? He just tucks it up
and says, let's go Exactly, He's a box player. He's
a that's how he's.
Speaker 2: Yeah, he's shaped like a fridge, which you could argue
is just a big ice box.
Speaker 1: That's what they used to be. Stays cool under pressure.
Speaker 2: He stays cool under pressure, and he's a great his
box plays. Next time, I mean, as to your box play,
let's go to let's go to Pathfinders pros and cons here.
I think we already mentioned a lot of his pros,
but number one, he's got two tacticals and it's.
Speaker 1: Elite as well. Yeah, that's very, very good. I think
the debate for the best tack in the game is
between Ash and path Yeah.
Speaker 2: Definitely physicality, he's up there with Revenant, who is no
longer in the tournament. He doesn't have to worry about
it that his physicality's next level.
Speaker 1: He's a fucking huge robot. He's literally just said he's
like a refrigerator.
Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely, but he still has the ability of just
being a menace.
Speaker 1: Now, is there anything else? I think?
Speaker 2: I think that's the gist of it. I think tall, Yeah, defend, defend.
Speaker 1: He's taller than absolutely, he's one of the tallest.
Speaker 2: One of the tallest legends. So he's got the height.
He's got all that. Now if we move to his cons,
he is a dumb ass.
Speaker 1: Something I was gonna say. He cannot do jobs right
except for playing the box. He is a dumb ass
sometimes and box.
Speaker 5: Yeah, he might be good in it, but he is
slow in the box.
Speaker 1: Also, I was thinking of cos Yeah, that is a
good point. Name he is very when when when he's
in his own box, it's not gonna be he's slow
like he has to. It will likely cause him less
fast break chances because he has to keep grapple up
to have momentum to just in the box.
Speaker 2: And then also himself the fact that he he doesn't
have a passive that's yes.
Speaker 1: Well he does, but he's just tucking up. Yeah, he's
just tucking it. That's it.
Speaker 2: His legs are in the air, which actually if he
if somebody is able to kick him the ball while
he's like mid air on like a zipliner's, you can't
even have a zip, so.
Speaker 1: It doesn't even matter. That's that's the thing.
Speaker 2: Do we know if his legs go up on his grapple, Okay,
all right, just check it.
Speaker 1: But even then, even then, like there's some nasty thing
like pass around a grapple in the air while carrying
ball between your feet and launching yourself at the goal,
still be pretty good. You fucking it's elite. It's elite.
It's an elite play.
Speaker 3: Other thing I will say, I will say a con
frash she got peg legs.
Speaker 1: She has the peg legs, but you don't hit the
ball with the front of your foot. You turn it.
Speaker 2: So it's like it's not as bad as it could be,
but it's it's definitely not as good as Pathfinder having
a full foot.
Speaker 1: Yeah, but he has a full foot.
Speaker 2: And I think Ash isn't saying like I'm gonna score
screamers from outside the box.
Speaker 1: She's gonna be like tactically cut to dash around in
the box. Yeah, imagine Ash like she's doing a lot
of front box play.
Speaker 2: She's doing a lot of box play. And we talked
about Pathfinders box play. Hers is still elite when you
just box play.
Speaker 1: She's gonna go left. I want you left, right, back
in a circle whatever. I want you to.
Speaker 2: Picture you being a fat, big old Pathfinder sitting inside
your own box and they're about to take the corner kick.
The arm goes up and you just see eight dashes
going around their fucking vision. You're like, what is going on?
And then the kick comes in. You don't know who's where.
They all dashed around, and then there's just one wide
open header.
Speaker 1: In the back of the neck. Yeah, it would be
definitely difficult to do. You have to go full harang
ball and put up eight Pathfinders in front of the box.
Speaker 2: And that's still my You know, you never know Pathfinders. Pathfinder,
he's so such an idiot that sometimes I do think
that have you ever seen the like soccer players where
the goalie like clearly has the ball in front of him,
but it bounces around and just makes it in the
net and you just see some awful, awful goaltending. I
think Pathfinders do for one of those in this tournament
at some point, and I hope it's not this game,
but it might be this also.
Speaker 1: Can we talk about the emotional side of it for
these two legends. You know this this is Ash broke
up with Pathfinder, but yeah, path he still thinks.
Speaker 2: He still thinks are together. Does does that play a factor?
Oh man, he might be in it.
Speaker 1: He might be like, I don't want to beat you
because I you know, you're you're my bay Kyle. He
might be pulling a Kyle on this where he's just yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5: Back in the genesis of this World Cup series, a
Pathfinder was playing Ballistic and we brought up the own
goaling aspect of it.
Speaker 1: Yeah likely.
Speaker 5: I don't know if if he clears the own goaling allegations,
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1: He could, it might might happen.
Speaker 2: He might be so elite at his box play, might
be so elite he scores on himself.
Speaker 1: He's just so good in the box, scores on his
own box his box play. Also might be so lead
on the other side that Ash scores on herself. Yeah.
I mean, listen, all these are possible. One backwards dash
done wrong.
Speaker 2: I feel like the last matchup was really difficult. I
feel like this one might be even harder.
Speaker 1: I could. Yeah, I think this is more of a
It's gonna come down to just who's on that day,
who's on their game, who's got the better box play,
who's able to to really like get in there, find
the crevices, find that magic spot, make it work, And
you know, sometimes it's just I swear, sometimes it's just
not there, no matter what, no matter how hard you try,
Sometimes you just can't find it, and you just can't
get it to work.
Speaker 2: I have a mom, I have I have a name
that's been at the forefront of my mind, and every
single time I try to convince myself.
Speaker 1: It's just always there. Who's your guys winner of these two? Yeah?
Oh man, I'll just say what I've I think, I know,
I know where my brain's going to. I don't want
to go there, just for some reason it doesn't make sense,
but for some reason also feels right.
Speaker 2: I've tried to convince myself, but I just feel like
Ash has taken it.
Speaker 1: Really my brain's I really just feel like Ash is taken.
My brain says it's or it's Ash. My heart says,
for some reason, Pathfinder is going to win this.
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, like you said, it's whoever's having an
off day that day. I just the goaltending always like
your goal.
Speaker 1: Being able to dash like that.
Speaker 2: Oh, it's just like I just keep thinking of it
and being like every opportunity that Pathfinder has to do
something incredible. The other thing Pathfinder could do that we
didn't mention he could technically tether kind of, he could
grapple a personal pull on.
Speaker 1: That's true, but I mean in the box though.
Speaker 2: The thing about, yeah, he can't do it in the
box and then penalty. Yeah, he'd probably get a red
for that, yeah, or at least a yellow and if
head a few times.
Speaker 1: Yeah, unless he does it subtly. One of the nastiest
slide tackles in this game, though. Oh yeah, it's like
he could murder somebody. Break he's breaking one of those legs.
Legitimately would murder somebody.
Speaker 5: And you guys see that guy on the Spain Argentine.
Speaker 2: Yeah, oh he did the dude and the guy tried
to say it wasn't a red. It was just the
most ridiculous, ridiculous setup under dude.
Speaker 3: He catched that dude's leg out from a row.
Speaker 1: He destroyed that.
Speaker 2: He sent him to twenty twenty seven. Okay, yeah, I've
got I've got ash. I just keep thinking of the goalie.
I just keep thinking of the goalie every single time.
I keep thinking of her dashing around in the box.
And it makes me sad because Pathfinder's box play is
s tire. But I also feel like if hers is
a tier, how much of a difference is that when
you have the defense, the goaltending, you have an extra
midfielder with attack, you can dash around all over the place,
set up plays inside the box.
Speaker 1: Thing is Pathfinder's box play is s tier. When playing
with somebody else, yeah, Ash's box play is s tire
and she only has to play with herself.
Speaker 2: Yeah, she only has to play with her own box
play with herself.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 2: I mean she's she's got great boss box play. Kyle,
where are you at?
Speaker 3: I think in order for your Pathfinder to be successful,
he needs both tacks up.
Speaker 1: Yeah. And it's tough to have both when you have
to use one defensively because Ash is so aggressive.
Speaker 3: Yeah, and you got to use one in case like
when of you gets tethered.
Speaker 2: You guys don't know how badly I want Pathfinder to be.
Speaker 1: Dude, I'm in the same That's where my heart's happened.
Speaker 2: Like I want him in the final so bad because
if I'm gonna be honest, I feel like he kicks
the ship out of Sparerow. Oh my god, I think
this would be the fine, Like you know how, you
know how the the semifinal games were actually like really
cool in this World Cup, and then the final is
just like a one nil kind of like I feel
like that's kind of what we're going to right now
because I I actually think I'll save that.
Speaker 1: We'll see, we'll see what happens. I think we all
kind of have a thought on the way the bracket
worked out, but I think I'm I want to I
want to say Pathfinders so bad, but I think it's
gonna have to be Ash. I've got Ash on this one.
Speaker 3: Unfortunately, I.
Speaker 1: No, no, I'm to it. I think Pathfinder is gonna win.
Speaker 3: I think I think it's just his day man, as
much as I think he has to work through some
hard things. ASH beat Revenant because Rev doesn't have another jump.
I think if Rev had another jump, he'd be able
to win. And in this case, we basically have two
Rev jumps, So I think that Pathfinder could do it.
Speaker 1: You can find a way, Nate, who do you have?
Speaker 5: It's been really fun to talk about, uh, like just
the goaltending the tether, everyone being able to have Dash
on a passive cool down, and with path Fighter having
to be so conservative with his tacticals.
Speaker 4: I think it's gonna.
Speaker 1: Go with Ash Ash three to one. Unfortunately, very possible
would say the score is could have easily been three
to one. Yeah, I think I I'm gonna go four
to two.
Speaker 3: I'm gonna go three to two.
Speaker 1: I'm saying three to one. And one of the goals
Pat scored on himself. I think one of the goals. Yeah,
one of the goals is an own goal. Yeah.
Speaker 2: Actually all four of my goals are own goals. Path
just fucking just fell. Tried to clear the ball, just
rocketed in straight. He put a hole in the back
of the net trying to clear it. Yeah, that one's unfortunate.
I was actually so excited for Nate to say pathfind
I was gonna text Chris and be like, you have
to figure this out and have us have no explanation
for dude.
Speaker 1: And if if Chris didn't respond, I'm not I had
a teat up. I was gonna make her answer on
the thing.
Speaker 2: Uh okay, all right, ladies and gents, that should just
about do it for the semi finals of the Apex
Legends World Cup. That's it, right, No, that's not it.
We're taking a quick break and on the other side,
we're going into the Apex Legend World Cup final between
A and Sparrow.
Speaker 1: Let's get it. The World Cup.
Speaker 2: Has come to a close, boys and girls, that is
officially over Spain. Is your winner over Argentina. I called
Spain to win before I ended up wanting to root
for Argentina at the end there, but it just didn't happen.
Spain had a lockdown defense and Argentina couldn't find any
way to generate any sort of attack. I believe they
ended the game with zero shots on target, zero shots
on goal. And now we have ourselves a matchup where
there's a potential for a worldy game. There's also potential
for a game very similar to the one that we
just watched this last weekend in the World Cup Final.
We have Ash taking on Sparrow in the Apex Legends
World Cup Final. Boys, let's discuss. Let's kick it off
with Ash here. I mean, we already talked about the
pros and cons.
Speaker 1: I was gonna say that the dash here is again
just so dangerous, dangerous, it's so but it's different than
the dash was with Uh. I'm gonna call it a
dash because it's closest equivalence. It's different than it was
with Axel. Yeah, Axel was for breakaways. For Burst, there's
one time, huge influx of speed. It could be easily
double edged. Ash doesn't really have that double edge. It's
almost all benefit on a quick cool down. The whole
team moves as together in a very quick succession. It's
instant space whenever you need it to be on the ground,
and just having the ability inside the box to adjust
quick end like Sparrow was gonna have to have some
heat behind those kicks to get those balls through.
Speaker 2: Yeah, we don't have to go through the protes and
cons in terms of the character themselves, because we already
went over it. But we can't go in the pros
and cons of this specific matchup. And I think Brian
went into it right there. There's no real edge for
Ash here going up against Sparrow. There's no like, ah, well,
that kind of sucks for Ash. Even though she doesn't
have the verticality, she has so much quick movement. And
the thing that we gave Sparrow was all of them
could have it. Now he's going against somebody who can
also have it. All all of them have it. They Yeah,
he can get in the air, she can get back.
And what we said about Axel, she has no defense.
Ash might have some of the best defense with a
similar offensive attack.
Speaker 3: The other thing that I thought about that is just
kind of shitty because he doesn't really have any movement
to like propel himself.
Speaker 1: Forward at all.
Speaker 3: Nope, so she could just kind of attack him and
then just go around him and then just yeah, run
straight to the goal. So you just tack one of
the defenders, go around him, and then just go to
the straight to the goal. And then you're you're in
a one v two scenario because you got two people
pushing and there's only one defender.
Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, it's a very it would be very difficult
for Sparrow. Spara would have to play the most technically
sound ball in yea case, this would have to be
Sparrow's best game, and I think that's without question. Ash
on the other side, I think, has the ability to
adjust for mistakes but also really easily, but also is
likely to not be the best the better of the
actual ball players between them.
Speaker 2: Yeah, Sparrow actually does play ball. He does play ball,
He does play ball. Ash has that competitive edge though
that I really like. I also think that all of
her abilities, combined together, I think make for the perfect
midfielder the test.
Speaker 1: It's just all good. Uh.
Speaker 2: Before we go any further into this matchup, the World
Cup does a third place game. We could discuss the
third place game as well.
Speaker 1: Love to discuss we have we have the third place
game between ath Finder and Axel. Oh, I have thoughts
on that.
Speaker 2: All right, I just did on the last one. We
already discuss the pros and cons in terms of the
character themselves, but in terms of the matchup. Let's kick
it off with Axel first. Both of them have no
tactical or sorry, both of them have no passive.
Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a game of tax. It's a game
of tax. And one has two tacks, the other has one, and.
Speaker 3: The one that has won the other person can use
as well.
Speaker 1: Yeah, and they're both for all intents and purposes in
this matchup. For purpose, they're both massive horizontal swings. Yeah.
Speaker 2: But now here's the thing, Like we mentioned in this one,
if Axel gets into the box last time in her
last matchup in the semifinal, she had to deal with
a lot of verticalities stopping her on like most shots,
like her shots she can't take. She can't try and
take headers. That's still kind of the case because pathfinders tall.
But she can manage a header in there.
Speaker 1: If she can, is.
Speaker 2: You can find a spot. She also has a ton
of momentum going into the box.
Speaker 1: We also need to acknowledge that Pathfinder can have the
exact same momentum coming into the box.
Speaker 2: But what is he going to play if he's defending
a corner, is he going to be on the outside
and then tacking in.
Speaker 1: I would be if I said at last him if
I was defending a corner as path, I'm lining up
at the front of the goal box and I'm tacking
myself at the at the kicker of the corner of
the corner, and I'm what I'm doing is not trying
to block the shot, but I'm trying to take away
line of sight and line of shot to be able
to put it where he wants to. He has to
kick weird angles to get the ball to where he
wants to go. Make the shot difficult, don't make him,
don't take away the shot entirely, just make him take
a bad shot. That's the difference there. And I think
for his frame is so massive, I think that's still
a reality, especially when it's coming flying at you from
whatever angle and he has control in air because of
that of where that angle is, he can't adjust slightly.
But as you get closer, you need to adjust less. Hmmm, Kyle,
what do you think?
Speaker 3: Honestly, I think just mainly because she's only got one
tack and he's got two man and.
Speaker 1: It's such a difference.
Speaker 3: I think it's such It makes such a big difference
between like being able to get there getting two of
your players to the other side faster than one of
their players can make it. You know, this might be
a time where she might have to use her tack
defensively because there if he gets on a breakaway, you
got to get there to defend, and you can't. You know,
that means that you put attack in a shitty spot
for the rest.
Speaker 1: Of you, which also means that there's no breakaway ability
for her.
Speaker 8: Yeah.
Speaker 1: After that, like that just gets rough. So I'm at
the The mindset on this one is they're both breakaway legends.
Ultimately that's what they want to be. Now. Pathfinder, I think,
is a little bit more versatile, and we're gonna see
a lot of that versatility come out in this. But
essentially it's they're both breakaways, but Pathfinder has the ability
to do it twice as often, and I think that's
the scary thing. Or Pathfinder has the ability to break
away and if something goes wrong still recover.
Speaker 2: I think that's a huge factor. Yeah, I feel like
she kind of in a weird way. It's almost like
she started to just peter out when she started playing
better squads.
Speaker 1: Yep. Yeah, It's almost like she was a team that
was flying high in the beginning, and as she started
playing against some of these events, some of these other
high quality teams, you realize, Oh, you're actually not as
good as you You just don't have defense the defense. Yeah, Chris,
what do you think?
Speaker 6: Fuck, she's so special?
Speaker 2: No, I know she is, man, but I do do
you think? I know she's a special player. She's a
special player, but.
Speaker 1: I just don't. I don't know.
Speaker 2: I feel like it's uh, I feel like it's Pathfinder here.
I feel like it's Pathfinder here. And honestly, I think
this one's actually a little bit further apart than the
last match. I'd go like three to one. I think
Pathfinder gets behind her a lot. I think she's caught
on defense a ton of times. I think Pathfinder's gonna
have a bulk of the possession. He's gonna be carrying
the ball most of the time. And what does that do?
Like if your axel and Pathfinder has the bulk of
the of the possession, you can't use the one thing
that makes you you you're stuck in your own box.
And you could try to drop a tactic, but the
second you do that, if you miss or you don't
get the ball and you don't get possession, you just
you waste You're wasting another twenty seconds waiting for it
to come back to make something happen.
Speaker 1: Right, And you can be stuck in your box. I
mean that's fine to degree, but you want to You
don't want to always be stuck there. You want to
be able to come out and you want to be
able to play, and you want to be able to
do what you need. You want to be able to
play in there, and you want to be able to
get them out of your box. Yeah right, And I
don't know she has the ability to get Pathfinder out
of there.
Speaker 2: No, I mean, I think he's just gonna be He's
gonna have the ball basically the whole game, I think,
and then he's gonna take three moments of I think
Pathfinders getting I think he's pissed off from the last
game because he's like, dude, I should have won that.
Speaker 1: He let a win, and now he has to show
that he can dominate everybody else.
Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think he comes in here with a
full head of steam. He doesn't view Axel as his ex.
Speaker 1: He just lost to his ex again.
Speaker 2: She broke up with him, and he was probably sitting
there crying in his room saying to himself.
Speaker 6: Fuck, she's so special.
Speaker 2: But he doesn't have to think about that now. And
so it's basically like, I'm gonna kick ass. You know,
I'm changing my score to four one. I think I
think he puts up a four spot. I think he
goes three headers and one screamer from outside of the
box that curls into the top corner.
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you know what I'm gonna say. I'm gonna
say three to one, and the one is he excellently
scores himself.
Speaker 2: And then I think at the end, after he scores
the fourth, I think he socks her straight in the
face with his boxing gloves and then gets a red card.
Speaker 3: I think he he grapples her and pulls her in,
punches her right.
Speaker 1: In the face. Yeah, and then he's like, that's my frustration.
Speaker 3: I just let out yep, and then red card thrown
out there.
Speaker 1: It is no he he would accidentally grapple a reugh.
That'd be funny. I three, No, Nate, what do you got?
I think three nil path I'm gonna say, uh, I
like your score?
Speaker 4: What for to one?
Speaker 5: But I'm gonna say four to two because he scores
on himself.
Speaker 2: Okay, there we go, gets another score on so this
time it was on purpose. He's laughing about it.
Speaker 1: He's like, I kicked the shit out of you. You
can't Yeah, you can't beat me.
Speaker 2: Yeah, So okay, that's our third place game, Pathfinder, and
just falls off Pathfinder. He takes the third place game
back to the final. We went over it. I feel
like there's a clear winner. I think it's actually like
a dominant.
Speaker 3: As much as I hate to say it, I think
I think she's just.
Speaker 2: I think she dominates. Yeah, I think she kicks his ass.
Speaker 1: One she's a robot.
Speaker 3: Two she's got the probably one of the best texts
for this particular thing. Three Like she also has the
best passive for this.
Speaker 1: Thing, best passive by far. And yeah, no, it's it's
such a tough matchup for Sparrow too. Yeah, cause Sparrow
against path we might be having a different conversation, Yeah,
like genuinely we might be This conversation might be different.
I think the matchup is just awful here because like,
sure he can take height with this, but his height
does know nothing if he can't use it to advance.
And the ability to quickly recover from Ash is huge,
and the ability to keep him grounded is huge. So fucked.
It's just it's such a tough matchup for him. Yeah,
I I gotta go Ash here, Nate.
Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's Ash. I know that.
Speaker 5: You know why you said, like she's like the best midfielder.
The attack is super strong, Like I just can't get
out of my head, like how.
Speaker 4: Crazy the goalie would be?
Speaker 2: Yeah, just like to be honest, when I was when
I was looking last week when we finished, I was
just looking at it and I was like, I don't
know how anybody on this paper beats Ash.
Speaker 1: And I wanted Pathfinder to go the final.
Speaker 2: I want it so bad, But I was like, dude,
how is anybody going to beat Ash? How does this happen?
I just don't see it happening. I don't see it happening.
Speaker 3: I think if anybody was gonna do it, I think
could have.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 3: Maybe, No, I'm telling you the two tags. I think
it really what sells it for me.
Speaker 1: Yeah, honestly that you want to know, who may have
had a chance to do it would have been Octane.
I was thinking about that the multi stems to break
out of it and being able to keep pace like
it's not at the tether does less to him. But
she didn't have to face him. No, she got lucky.
I don't think she did it right because that wasn't
the first matchup. Who do Octane play? First?
Speaker 3: Octane he beat somebody and then lost immediately else.
Speaker 1: I thought he lost round one. I think he did
lose round He might have played Ash round one. I
think he played Ash round one. But like, that's such
a brutal matchup and we very well may have just
saw one of the who should have been finalists getting
knocked out very early just due to bracket seating.
Speaker 2: Yeah, Octane Octane played Lifeline round one, so he won
that and then he had to play Ash, right.
Speaker 1: Okay, that's what how you were correct? Yeah, but going
against Ash, like, he might have been one of the
best matchups against Ash, and it was because of the
the ability to adjust with the dash. I'm trying to
think there was anyone else that has the ability to
move in that that caliber that Ash does, and I'm
good running through legends of my head, I don't think so.
I actually think there's a couple of defensive legends that
would have done really well against Ash, like Caustic and
like actually Gibraltar as well. Throwing Bubble on an Ash
that's attempting to dash because you can't dash far enough
to get out of bubble would trap ball inside and just.
Speaker 5: Be interesting to revisit this at some point. But like,
they're maxed out on their perks.
Speaker 2: I was thinking the same you just said that, because
I was literally thinking like I was thinking literally if
it was maxed out and we got to kick their.
Speaker 1: Perks, emp Bubble would be they.
Speaker 2: Could dude, it would be. It would be a different animal.
Ash would still be like really good though, because does
she not get two tacticals.
Speaker 1: From one of them she.
Speaker 2: Gets to do we give them old To that point,
I was thinking about it.
Speaker 1: Like we give him the whole nine. I mean give
him the whole nine. Ash gets nasty.
Speaker 2: Vantage is sniping people on the field, but maybe fuse
in the box. Maybe tax in the box would go crazy,
Pathfinder would tack in the box. I think goes to
make his elite box play even more.
Speaker 1: Elite if you gave him a zipline to the ball. Yeah,
he ziplines to the fucking crossbar, just like slaps to
be fair. Also, fuse with tax in the box is nasty.
Speaker 4: Fuse with old it's for like a penalty kick.
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, there, he just sucks everybody off.
Speaker 3: I will say, though, like Watson shuts down fuse, you know.
Speaker 1: Because the fuse would be first rounded. Yeah. Well, it
depends on the match up there, Yeah, I mean they're
playing Bloodhound can actually run fast. Bloodhound would actually have
you know, a fighting chance. I actually have an ability
that's worth the damn Like Crypto still still sucks. He's
still ass. But I guess he could at least try
to stun with the old. Yeah but yeah, but what
if you've got to be get that, because you can,
you can do it without you throw it once and
then you just double tap the button. Yeah, but it
stuns you too, Still stun yourself. You stunned one of
your guys. No, it's stunts your whole team. You detonate
everything with one guy in the range. Give that one
guy detonate. You're still fucked. Yeah, but it counters like
caustic and encounters that those legends. Yeah, so at least
it gets rid of that ship. All right, Well, ladies
and gents, let's congratulate ass. She is your Apex Legends
World Cup champion. What's the next one? She's dude?
Speaker 2: I mean I was thinking about I was thinking the
same thing. We should have done this for the fucking Olympic.
All we did some stuff for the Oh yeah, we
did some stuff.
Speaker 1: We could have done March Madness. I think we could March.
We can bring it back for March Madness. March Madness
is coming up.
Speaker 2: We've got I mean it's not really coming up, but
I mean you know it's a yearly event. It's not
an every four years thing. Yeah, so that should be
coming up. That'll be really fun. And then uh yeah,
I mean the euros is every two years. We've got Olympics,
We've got all this other.
Speaker 3: Stuff for the college football brackets.
Speaker 1: College football playoff, the next major What the fuck is
ai G?
Speaker 2: Can I say something real quick? I actually do think
although he won third place in the tournament, I do
think Pathfinder was the second and best player in the
in the tournament.
Speaker 1: I think you just got Delta matchup.
Speaker 2: Like, if I had to rank the top four seeds,
I would probably go one Ash, two path Finder, three
Sparrow for Force.
Speaker 1: Uh axel hot take. I feel the same way about England.
You thought England was the second best team in the tournament. Yeah,
I mean that was tough. That was tough to see
them go down like that, but you know, it is
what it is. A lot of people hate England. I
actually like the squad. I don't know, I just like them.
But yeah, so Ash is your winner. We could do
the Open, the US Tennis. Who would be the best.
Let's not do this right now. We can't do this
right now. We gotta save it. We gotta be We
could do the US Open. Obviously, football, NFL football course, Uh, Corns,
just that's hilarious. I love Cornwall. They're the World Series baseball.
And then obviously we just did soccer.
Speaker 2: Cricket, dude, the Masters. We could find a way to
do the Masters. That would be interesting.
Speaker 1: Yeah, indy five hundred race car drivers?
Speaker 3: Oh fuck, who would be the best racing?
Speaker 1: Hockey? AXL Basketball, the hockey, NBA Finals, the NBA Championships.
That'd be good. Actually, see, you know what we could
do for the NBA the Rugby World Cup. Rugby Rugby
would be nasty, hard, rugby be awesome. How many legends
do we have now? Is it twenty eight? Twenty eight? Jeez?
Speaker 2: Wait was it twenty eight eight? Because we did the
bracket right, it was all twenty eight.
Speaker 1: Of them were in there.
Speaker 4: I think it was twenty eight.
Speaker 2: We have twenty eight basketball? Who is it's five on
a court? Yeah, five in a quarter in a six
man so you'd have a five. We could do a
five team random randomized draft, just throw it five five
five five five and we just see who wins that.
Like that would be interesting, you know what I'm saying, Like,
maybe you have like Pathfinder on one team. Like the
fun part of that is we would first have to
figure out which position each character is playing. Like imagine
it randomized a draft and it had like Gibbie Pathfinder,
fucking Newcastle Caustic, and then you had Bantage.
Speaker 1: You're like, who plays what? Who plays what?
Speaker 2: That would be fun that my power forward? Yeah, yeah, no,
that would be really fun.
Speaker 1: We could do that. Uh shit, that'd be fun. I do.
I still think the rugby one would be sick. Rugby
one would be fun. I've been watching a ton of
rugby recently. Hell yeah, wrestling, sumo. We could do sumo
midnight sumo. There's definitely a one of one pick in there.
Speaker 2: Yeah, shout out Sumo. Okay, ladies and gents. That is
the Apex Legends World Cup. Thank you guys for tuning
into this one. This one was actually one of our
most fun segments I think we've ever done. The really
sad part is that's so hot in the studio that
we couldn't record any video for that, which bothers me
a little bit, But it was still fun. Nonetheless, thank
you guys for tuning into the Apex Leedgends World Cup.
Who do you think should have won? And once again
the seeds randomized. Anything really could have happened. It just
so happened. That's how the cookie crumbled. But who do
you think, in your humble opinion, should have won the
Apex Legends World Cup based on the rules that we
set out and created for this World Cup, Ladies and gents,
we're gonna throw it on down to the voicemails and
send you guys on the rest of your week. Let's
get it all right. Voicemail time let's get it. First
one comes from King shit pants.
Speaker 1: Have an emergency.
Speaker 9: Bro, i'mbuta played the pickle ball. It's eight It's like
eight ten in the morning.
Speaker 1: I got a shift so bad. So you know what
I did?
Speaker 9: I walked around because truly at a public park, they
gotta have a bathroom.
Speaker 1: Started, Bro, you really started?
Speaker 9: But that was the long time. No, I think I
have now sped walked back to my cars.
Speaker 1: You walked? I don't know, because I gotta ship my pants.
So I'm gonna ship my pants.
Speaker 9: Bro, I'm going to I gotta make it to the
grocery shore. It's like five minutes away because I know
that the only thing that's opening right now that has
a bathroom. So please please please wish me luck.
Speaker 3: Ship in the park?
Speaker 1: Bro, what do you mean? Please tell me there's a
part two? Goodness gracious, I want a part two. No,
he didn't. He didn't give me a part two, new pants,
We need a part two, fucking ship. No, he made me.
He made it. You made it and forgot because he
made it. I need a part two. Next one comes
from Jack.
Speaker 4: What's the boys?
Speaker 10: Last voicemail that I sent? It was really messed up.
I don't know why I was at the gym. I
had my new headphones on. I paid good money for those.
If it's a microphone, I'm gonna be kind of pissed.
But I want when I sent that, I wanted to
throw my two cents. That about how long I've been listening.
Speaker 1: I've been listening.
Speaker 10: Since sixth grade, and I'm going to my junior year
of high school. I particular beginner gym tips. I've been
going to the gym for like two two and a
half months now. I'm just wondering if you have anything
I should know mm hmmranks.
Speaker 1: I have the biggest things consistent.
Speaker 10: I have a couple of questions for the boys. There
was mention about Chris having a pool a little bit ago.
He also had like a messenger vision. Uh and then
in the Apex World Cup. I know it was a
couple of matches ago. But could Maggie throw her drill
into vouch swings or are we just talking like strictly
game wise in the way that the drill could be
used versus.
Speaker 1: Another player that would probably be a card.
Speaker 10: Probably could we get a draft with the different heirlooms?
And like the sports, I don't know we've probably already
done that one.
Speaker 1: Actually, there's more airlooms now, yeah, they've dropped so many.
Speaker 10: Is like a hockey stick or something.
Speaker 1: Mm hmmm, we've done that.
Speaker 10: For historian Nate Well, who was the first person to
send in a voicemail saying fuck you, Brian.
Speaker 1: That's actually a great question. I could go back and
look if you listen to this.
Speaker 10: And you know she's asking why everybody says and we'll
hate Brian because he's a ten he's fucking giuse me.
This ship I.
Speaker 1: Don't even know he describe you. Wish you knew why.
Speaker 10: You made nice a ten count piece of.
Speaker 1: Ship extended this guy's Mike time. Dude.
Speaker 2: The crazy part was his voicemail said a minute forty
six seconds. It went two minutes and twenty eight seconds long.
Why did it even tell me when it ended? But
it didn't even end there? Uh yeah, I don't know
that one's That one's weird to me. Okay, next one
comes from I'll outrun you in dress pants.
Speaker 1: That's false.
Speaker 4: What's up?
Speaker 6: Guys?
Speaker 11: Look, I want to bring back this Jurassic Park thing,
and I get it.
Speaker 6: I was like, this is.
Speaker 1: Wait, hold on, I wasn't here for the Jurassic Park
what happened okay, so so for people who didn't listen
to that episode.
Speaker 2: Or for Kyle, what happened was how long somebody sentence?
Oh it was Joe. Joe sent in a voicemail saying, hey, boys,
if you guys were in Jurassic Park, how long do
you think each of you would last? In the GMB
extend you.
Speaker 1: Guys killed me off first?
Speaker 2: Since you pieces, we definitely did, I mean you're not surviving.
Speaker 1: I would live Kyle. I would definitely Kyle. To be fair,
we didn't really say any of us would last that long.
Speaker 6: Ye.
Speaker 1: First of all, you have to ship at the most
eight opportune times. You ever seen dress Park three? It's
number two, but he gets eaten in the portal party.
I thought it was one. Oh is it one? Yeah?
Speaker 2: Is it?
Speaker 1: Jeff Goldbloom gets eating in the portal party?
Speaker 3: And no, he doesn't get eaten, but they tear off
the top of the portal party.
Speaker 1: That's right, Okay? I thought he dies right then? No,
because he lives for number two. Oh, okay, he dies
in two. I think it would have been better if
if he wasn't in two. Probably just hates Jeff. I
don't know. We I don't know if it's possible because
I know this is going to start some ship and
people did not listen to that set part of the
last episode. Is there a way to play it for them?
Because you're gonna hear it, Kyle, and you're gonna be like,
what the fuck? Yeah? If Chris says he says, John, Chris,
I'm pretty sure. I'm pretty sure. Yeah, Jump as a yapper.
He's dead. Kyle. You were here for the round of
thirty two, right.
Speaker 3: Yes, I wasn't here for the sixteen.
Speaker 1: So let me fast forward and find the voicemails here. Yeah, okay,
here we.
Speaker 2: Go, Chris, I mean, all right, so this is the
point in the show last week where uh this voicemail
came up. This is why Jump is sending it. And
then once we once we figure out why he's sending it,
we'll uh listen to actually, little little listen to what
Jumba actually said.
Speaker 1: I'm sorry, that's suspictable. One here comes from Joe.
Speaker 8: Jo Mama, what's up? Boys, it's been a while since
I left the boy smell.
Speaker 6: Uh.
Speaker 8: I was wondering, who do you think what survived Jurassic
Park out of you, guys, and like the extended GMB universe,
so like Richie Jumbo.
Speaker 4: Not surviving that.
Speaker 3: Yeah, Chris is so fast to that, bro, I'm pretty
sure Jumba could out run Chris.
Speaker 2: Okay, So now that's the that's the context. Let's listen
to what Let's listen to what Jumba had to say.
Speaker 4: What's up, guys?
Speaker 11: Look, I wanted to bring back this Jurassic Park thing,
and I get it. I know, Haha. Jumbo's a yapper.
They're gonna hear him and he's gonna get eaten.
Speaker 4: Look.
Speaker 11: I've played enough games with you guys and seen each
of you in high pressure situations to know that you're
all fucked. You guys are gonna spend more time saying
that none of you want to I g l you'll
die before you even decide.
Speaker 4: I mean you always turn to me, don here he
but shout out Nate.
Speaker 8: Yeah.
Speaker 11: I grew up playing hockey, volleyball and ran track and field.
Speaker 4: I ain't just sneaky athletic.
Speaker 11: And I'm not saying I'm gonna survive the whole time.
But if it's who's going to live the longest, I
just gotta be faster than you guys, and I don't
think that's hard at all.
Speaker 1: Oh, but survive.
Speaker 11: He's just gonna walk up to a fence and probably
that shit.
Speaker 4: Open with his bare hands or walk up.
Speaker 11: And also the jayhawk compression was funny. But he's also
got riss. He's buy like a fucking mile doesn't help.
My voice is gone. You guys are gonna make more
yapping jokes.
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean he never shuts up, and I think
that's just why that's why he lost his voice. It's
just one of those things.
Speaker 1: Honestly might increase the survival champs.
Speaker 3: I mean, if he did lose his voice while he
was there.
Speaker 2: I think he'd got I think Jumbo might just die
from going insane from having nobody to talk to.
Speaker 1: He just starts actually, you know, he might just start talking.
He just starts talking to the time.
Speaker 2: I'm not entirely convinced that jump, but just doesn't talk
to himself now and when the boys aren't there, I
might just say things.
Speaker 1: Like he's like editing talking him. I think I think
Jumba would be surprisingly like quiet when he's not with
other people. Maybe I think he's just like in his
inner monologue's.
Speaker 3: In his head.
Speaker 2: It's just hard for me to even think about Jump
of being quiet.
Speaker 1: I'm not dude. When we were in Japan, I swear
I was like, I'm not going to say a word,
and he talked for seven straight minutes. Why it goes,
why it looks at me? Where at uh? Where'd we go?
We went to go get ramen?
Speaker 3: We went to go get ramen, and we're sitting at
like a bar top and why it's sitting next to
me and Jump is sitting next to him, and I'm
on the other side of Wyatt, and I go he
looks at me.
Speaker 1: He goes.
Speaker 3: All I'm going to say to him is yeah, and
we're gonna see how long he just keeps talking for
I shit you not. He talked for twenty minutes straight.
All Whyatt said to him was yeah.
Speaker 1: Okay, one, we we know people that are way worse
than that, but two, like you still gotta love jump Off.
I love it.
Speaker 2: Yeah, I dude, has nothing to do with not liking him.
It's just it's just funny. It's just one of the things.
It's like, it's just funny.
Speaker 1: As someone who enjoys not having to be the focal
point of a conversation. Sure, I love having guys like
because that's mean it is. I can be like, yeah,
I get to listen. Yeah. Now.
Speaker 11: The thing.
Speaker 2: The thing about JUMPA two is like, so, Matt, I
actually heard somebody. It was like a TikTok video. It
was a teacher and she was explaining why so many
teachers are having trouble right now with like the current
crop of children going into school. And it's because she
was like because of how like how many screens are
in their face, and how many things they listen to
and all that kind of stuff. They just they do
thinking out loud, like the way we think before we
like say things. It's like natural for them to just
say their thoughts, like their thinking thoughts, even though they
know the answer if they would have just taken an
extra second before they said it or did whatever, like
they know, they just think out loud. And Jumba's not
really like that. I don't think jump Back actually will
like when you talk to Matt, he will say things
out loud that you'll be like, yeah, like he's just
saying his thought.
Speaker 1: But jump But actually.
Speaker 2: Will give you like he'll speak he thinks, he just
he speaks to you and uh, and so it's fun
that way.
Speaker 1: Jump is gonna be over there breaking down the intricacies
of ALGs to a like a losciraptor. Yeah, he'll be
breaking the downhill of videos out. He'll be like, yeah,
I was wearing this bow tie. Hold on, just ignore
me in this bow tie. Not a big deal. Don't
watch that. Just look at the background. Okay, Jump, you
may have done sports. You're still dying, Bud. He's like,
you're still You're still dying. We're all we're all dying.
I think we're all dying. I jumped on Chris.
Speaker 2: I think Chris overestimates how bad his knees are underestimates
how bad Christ his knees.
Speaker 1: Chris knees A fucked yeah. Probably, Like Chris will always
do this thing when we go out where he'll be
like he'll be like on his his macho ship sometimes
where he'll be like, you know, fucking, He's.
Speaker 2: Just like, I'll take anybody in this place. Sometimes he'll
get in that mode. He'll never do it just because
that would be a bad idea. He'll never do it.
But sometimes he gets into macho mode. He also gets
in a macho mode, thinking that he would survive Jurassic
Park when his knees are fucked.
Speaker 1: Are shot, his knees are making it over the first hill.
Maybe not even now he has god awful knees. His
knees are shot. Bron is really that bad dude? Like, yeah,
all right, what's the number one thing that kills all
the guys in this group? In the group, So Chris
is his knees? Why?
Speaker 6: Uh?
Speaker 1: I think mine would be probably indecision in decision.
Speaker 3: Okay, I have an asthma attack and something fucking.
Speaker 1: Eats How's lungs are also? I am fucked.
Speaker 3: My lugs are so fucked having a hailo after a
few days, I'm pretty.
Speaker 1: Squirt that's fair. Mine's probably cardio. Cardio yep, yep, just no, no,
I take it back. Lack of flexibility. I'm like being
able to like get my leg up somewhere so I
can fucking climb is probably what kills me. Yeah.
Speaker 2: Yeah, Luckily I haven't had really too many injuries.
Speaker 1: Either of Like, I'm fucked, Troy's had a lot. Troy
would probably be like something physical like injury. No, no,
Troy would be reaction time. Oh yeah, it's reaction would
be he would want to think out the correct process.
One time doing the thing.
Speaker 2: I was at Troy's house and he's like, I gotta
go to work tomorrow at eight, but you can spend
the night here. And because I was cleaning pools, I
didn't have to be like in a building on a
certain time. We would just ride in our times. And
so I wake up and Troy's like, you want breakfast.
I look at the clock, it's like seven forty five.
I was like, don't you have to be at work.
He's like, nah, I'll make it. He makes like fucking
he made something extravagant. It wasn't a regular breakfast.
Speaker 7: No.
Speaker 1: I think it was like rabbit. Like I think he
had like made like killed a rabbit, and he was
making the rabbit in the morning because he was because
I liked the rabbit that he made.
Speaker 2: I was like, oh, it's good. And I think he
was like making rabbit, if I remember correctly. It was
either that or some something that wasn't like a bowl
of cereal like it like you had to turn on
a stove for it. Yeah, And I'm looking him like, bro,
you're gonna be late, and he's like, yeah, I might
be late. I was like, Bro, you didn't have to
make me anything like I got you. Troy's lack of
understanding time now, yeah, his lack of urgent he had, Yeah,
the lack of urgence, like the man has one speed
and one speed only. Yeah, and then we've already talked
about Nate. Nate's probably gonna live the.
Speaker 3: Longest, I think his second longest.
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's him, er Dowell.
Speaker 3: I think Jump is up there too, Bro. I think
Jump of fucking fast man.
Speaker 1: That that's I can't There's so much more that goes
into I think Jump is fine. I think Jumpo makes
it like mid pack, but I think Dal probably makes
it a bit further. I think Nate makes it a
bit further. I think Nate and Dal are probably both
up there. Dal probably dies from something stupid, like Dal
dies from decision making, not from I think we're gonna
say something like poison ivy or something like no, like yeah, no,
straight up, like he walks through like awful poison, Like
he makes the decision instead of yeah, he dies to
the nature of it, not gonna Jay.
Speaker 2: I'd probably say nature. I think most of us nature
would be a problem.
Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, the survival side of it alone, Like, don't
get me wrong, there's there's gonna be the dinosaurs, their
wildlife and everything like that. But like, which is a problem,
but we have wildlife now, Yeah, I'm making a fire
and ship. Yeah, like you have to boil water, like
you have to be able to actually build a shelter
and do these things, or be able to survive in
ones that are already inhabited.
Speaker 3: That's why I think Nate's probably the best person.
Speaker 1: And Nate would probably be fine on that and on
the survival side of it, I feel fine with it.
If I'm getting hunted might be different. It's not a
leopardsy or I can't make it bleed for you.
Speaker 2: I already know well, I know when Jumpa and Chris
see each other there about this exact moment. Last one
comes from anonymous.
Speaker 7: Boys uncle Jack.
Speaker 1: Here.
Speaker 12: I'm actually listening to all the Batches episodes in reverse,
so it's like.
Speaker 7: I started off with the most recent one and I'm
kind of going down the list, and it's like a
whole new side of the GMB universe that I haven't seen. Like,
trust me, Ryan's actually smart, Like.
Speaker 12: You get good advice while like that that ship is crazy.
Speaker 7: Didn't realize Brian was.
Speaker 1: Smart even there is something on his head.
Speaker 12: Like mad hoes or I don't know, like I'm I'm
only halfway through it right now.
Speaker 1: But and I was low key like I.
Speaker 12: Was listening to them while I was working, and then
I fell asleep during work. So but like I tuned
in at the.
Speaker 7: Right time where Chris is like, I don't know, kind
of like some Shoty's were bouncing on it a little bit.
Speaker 8: Kyle's going through it.
Speaker 13: I guess I have perpetually perpetual, and I just feel
like it's kind of good to see all of the boys.
Speaker 7: And and and the different side of them a.
Speaker 12: Little more personal, yeah, which I enjoyed because I can
kind of I can kind of connect a little deeper
with you guys, So I bobe with that.
Speaker 1: I just want to let you.
Speaker 7: Know that the Bachelor's just keep pumping them out because
they are absolutely They're deep, but they're also fun to
listen to, especially while I'm on my drive home.
Speaker 1: But anyways, love you boys.
Speaker 2: What easy, What a glowing endorsement for Bachelor. I know
a lot of people only listen to GMB or any
of our gaming shows. But that's a glowing endorsement. We
have a lot of fun on Bachelor, and it's not
all relationships stuff. Sometimes we'll do the lists where we
just pick twenty items and we rank them, so that's
always fun too.
Speaker 1: But yeah, you're going to get back to.
Speaker 3: Also doing the what was the Trojan guy's name or
whatever his name was, the Trojan what not the Trojan guy.
Speaker 1: Trojan horse or Trojan condoms?
Speaker 3: No, no, no, the guy we brought from like back
in time to now.
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Cleus cubilius.
Speaker 1: Yeah, no. Yeah.
Speaker 2: The crazy part about that those bachelors are listening to
is that's like the Gen two. There's a whole version
of Gen one Bachelor that you go back that I
can't upload. It would take a ton of work, but
I can do it. Like how many episodes are missing
from those files? It it's like fifteen, way more than
Oh really, dude, we started sixty dude, we started Bachelor
episode forty eight and it's been going to now. Yeah,
And the only reason they're unlisted is because we had to.
I guess we didn't have to, but it was there
was something that happened.
Speaker 1: Yep. So that's that.
Speaker 2: But there's still a lot of bachelors out there that
didn't have any of that at all, which is just no.
Speaker 1: And if you ever want to go back and see,
like you'll get to see GMB and banner and all
that kind of stuff, how the boys are like chilling
with each other and stuff, gaming and and bullshit on
this stuff. If you want to get under the under
the hood and kind of see how everybody's minds actually
work and how we interact with each other more on
a daily basis and stuff, go find some of the
more like serious Bachelor episodes and listen to them and
you're like, oh shit, like they're actually human beings.
Speaker 2: Yes, sir, that's you know, that's that's that's our show
that we enjoy probably doing the most.
Speaker 1: I love Bachelor because Bachelor. Bachelor's always fun.
Speaker 2: Now it does, it does get I feel like old
Bachelor was even better because we had a lot more
like freedom of like just whatever we wanted to say
and do, we just did.
Speaker 6: Uh.
Speaker 1: We we're a little bit more careful now. We kind
of have we kinda have to be, but we Yeah,
we had a we had to dial in a lot.
This is the old days were fun. Yeah, I still
think there's some stuff we'd get back to, like the
very very early days, and our and our perspectives will
probably change on some of the stuff.
Speaker 5: You know.
Speaker 1: I actually that might be worth revisiting some of those
white and like maybe going we don't have to repost
those episodes, but maybe we bring them back up and
talk about the situations, like leave everything out, but talk
about the situations now with hindsight, with the perspective we're
not in the moment, maybe can give different insight. We
could also go back to the to the simulated dates.
Speaker 3: Hindsight. Double Orange Chicken's not that bad.
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really not that bad. Nope, never, it's really not.
Speaker 2: But yeah, So if you guys want to go check
out backs, go ahead and check that out. We also
have Megala don is Real as well, so you can
check that one out as well. But I believe that
one's only on Spotify. I tried to get it on
Apple Music a million times.
Speaker 1: And for whatever reason, it doesn't work. But I would
keep trying and we'll get that thing out, ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 2: That's just about doing for this week's edition of the
Grab My Banter Podcast.
Speaker 1: We'll catch you guys next week for the other episode
of GMB.
Speaker 6: John They never come J never come, never come cha.
Speaker 11: Cha.
Speaker 6: Then come.
Speaker 11: To any.
Speaker 6: Children un child Jo
