get to another podcast because it's on a different platform.
That's why I'm trying to do it all on Arrow

what's going on? It's Erro, host of the weekly podcast
Podcrashing and Podcrashing one on one. These episodes connect listeners
to podcast specialists around the world. The goal has always
been to inform our podcast community with subjects that deal
with everything and beyond. Now. The one thing that you're
always going to learn about podcasters is that they're pretty
much open and always filled with a spirit that spreads
their skills as journalists, medical specialists, true crime soldiers, gamblers, motivators, spiritualists, actors,
and even their children. Seriously, there is a podcast for
every single subject. Pod Crashing one on one has been
around since March of twenty nineteen. The original goal was
to put focus on helping you and other up and
coming podcasters to have the right information about hosting one
of these podcasts. That idea went fifty four episodes, and
then I realized, dude, you got to include the other
podcasts that you're talking to, because that's where the real
story is. The ups, the downs, to twist, the spins,
the ins, the outs. The purpose of Podcrashing one on
one is to help you build your own platform, to
promote it and maybe even earn some money. This is
Podcrashing one on one, episode number four hundred and eighty one.
How is podcasting going to play into the story of
these mid term elections here in the United States? I mean,
who's gonna win? Right? Well, podcasting does, Yeah, it really does.
It's projected to play a much larger role than most
people actually realize. Important notice here, it is not going
to replace TV or social media. Instead, podcasting is going
to be used as a much deeper influenced tool. It'll
be less of an ad and more of a conversation
that shapes how people feel about politics. I mean, you
know how politicians are you know they understand the importance
of podcasting and when it's compared to cable news and debates.
Past elections have showcased a lot of candidates who made
the move to appear on a podcast. The goal was
and still is, outreach voters directly can be reached. Even
non political shows become the stepping point for those returning
to office. So why are the midterm elections going to
be very big for podcasting? Well, lower turnout at the polls,
those seeking government power need an efficient way to get
groups energized. Podcasting allows those wanting votes to take their time,
speak casually, at length and really never interrupted. Hey, coming
up next, how important is it going to be to
not accept political candidates on your podcast? Hey, welcome back
to podcrashing one on one. You're gonna have to make
a choice this year, these midterm elections here in the
United States. How important is it going to be to
not accept political candidates on your podcast? You gotta brace
yourself for this one. Not hosting a political figure during
these mid term elections won't be universally important. It won't be.
It's a strategic choice, and it says something about what
kind of podcasts that you actually host. It's not a
battle of who is right or wrong. The choice is
yours to include or to ignore the election ecosystem. What
kind of signal does it actually send out? I mean
you're protecting trust, right, You're avoiding the idea of sounding
like a political campaign trip. You're reducing accusations of being
big or playing favoritism. And by not inviting political candidates
to your show for a talk, you're kind of protecting
your identity. Right. Well, what's the downside of saying no
to politics. Well, you're going to miss out on valuable
audience spikes. You could be getting other media attention. Plus
you might even earn the image of being relevant and
not inviting just the people that you want. But but but
but but but listeners do want to trust you. They'll
love you even more because of your independence, and it
could lead to long term loyalty. Sometimes you gotta take
a chance. It's about speaking the street. But ultimately it's
up to you. It's your podcast. How you fit it
into that is up to your own creativity. I'm Eryl,
