Enjoy your exploration. Yo, what's going on? Ernie was my

blue crown conure. For over 34 years, he and I

looked over this beautiful forest right here in South Charlotte,

North Carolina. I mean, every day, Ernie would sit in

his beautiful home, overlooking these trees, the nearby lake, and

every bit the wildlife strolling so peacefully on the land below.

Ernie and I shared the same vision. It's this forest.

We both looked into the trees and studied the earth below.

I mean, there is something so amazingly spiritual going on here.

The lyrics from Ernie's Forest. We both received an amazing

amount of energy, and I put all my trust and

skills as a student into what he was willing to

share with me. Because these aren't my words. These are

the lyrics from Ernie's Forest. Today we're reading from September 21st, 2024.

It's chapter number 448. When the forest that you cherish

bites back. Could be the park. It could be the

building that you walk through. It could be the mall.

It could be that one place that you go to

for serenity and some peace and solitude and something is

biting you back. The changing of seasons can send our

sinuses into a fit. Now this forest is full of

pollen from the trees, the shrubs, the weeds, and long

tall grass. And I laugh at this long list of

pollen makers because in 1997 when we planted 1,700 seedlings

in this forest, I didn't realize how much it would

be playing with my allergies 27 years later. The path.

Cedar trees, oak, pine and spruce. And it doesn't have

to be from this forest at all to get into

our systems of breathing. Pollen is known for traveling for miles.

Suffering from allergies is on the increase for all people.

In fact, climate change and other environmental factors have scientists

today digging deeper into their studies. It's like, what the

hell is going on here? Well, let's not forget about

how we react to mold and spores as well. Research

shows the pollen season has grown three weeks longer over

the past 10 years. So when your favorite place of

taking a walk reaches out to bite you and as

miserable as you feel after, being in that presence of

nature is where inner peace is always going to grow.

Let me see the hands of those. that have taken

one big look at the atmosphere outside their window, be

it the windshield of your car, the window at work

or the window at home, and something has told you

deep inside, you ain't going out there. It's going to

affect your voice. It's going to really poison your lungs.

Your body is going to hurt. Do not go out there.

And then you've got that other side of your brain.

It's almost like one of those sitcoms on TV where

Jesus is on this side, the devil's on this side,

and they're pulling on you. They're pulling on your strings.

You've got to go out there. Why do I have

to go out there? I'm going to hurt. You're being selfish.

Did we really have to go there? When you decide

that the rain is too much for you to handle,

you decide. are being selfish because out there in the

real world where there is no ceiling, there are no walls.

It's just nature being alone with nature, the atmosphere of

all things right now. It wants to share and you've

decided that's not for me. You're not better than what's

going on out there. You're not because all of that

that's outside your windshield, your windows at work, your windows

at home, All of that out there is what you

need for right here inside your heart. And sometimes getting

drenched in the rain is the child inside of you laughing.

Because how long has it been since you have had

a real childlike laugh? And I'm not talking about one

associated with a sitcom or a comedian that's on Netflix.

A real honest to God laugh. Why not take a

walk on a 101 degree day? Because there's something out there.

If it has to be out there, why can't you

take a two or three minute stroll? Or just sit

outside with a glass of sweet tea from the south

and find yourself in a position of just listening. Stop

being selfish. Because that world outside of your windshield, your

window at work and your window at home, outside in

that world, there are lessons. to be learned. I'm Errol.

These are not my words. These are the lyrics from

Ernie's Forest.
