Speaker 2: Proof that we have a face for radio. The Jim

Speaker 2: Colbert Show on YouTube. Subscribe and watch.

Speaker 3: Okay, I'm getting kind of sick of these gas prices.

Speaker 3: I only used a quarter of a tank and I

Speaker 3: went to just top it off because it was $ 4.

Speaker 1: 04.

Speaker 3: Which cost me $ 33. 00. for a quarter of a tank

Speaker 3: at the top. And then I go down the street,

Speaker 3: and Speedway is 479.

Speaker 1: How does it swing that far? I don't get it.

Speaker 1: We've got a bomb about to go off, buddy.

Speaker 4: All right, 407-916-1041, text 77031. Your 4 o'clock keyword is dollar.

Speaker 4: Takes a bunch of those dollars to fill up your

Speaker 4: tank right now. D-O-L-L-A-R. Go to realradio.fm and send that

Speaker 4: away for your chance at $ 1, 000. And remember, you can

Speaker 4: also enter using the iHeartRadio app. And while you're there,

Speaker 4: make it your number one preset.

Speaker 1: I'm Jim. There's Deb. Hello. Jack is here as well. Yes.

Speaker 1: And so is Ross. Believe in yourself. So is Chloe G.

Speaker 2: If it's happening in Central Florida, it's on her radar,

Speaker 2: giving you a reason to get off the couch and

Speaker 2: out of the house.

Speaker 1: It's time to find out.

Speaker 2: What there is to see with Chloe G from the

Speaker 2: Orlando Weekly.

Speaker 1: Good night, Chloe G!

Speaker 4: Yay!

Speaker 5: Thank you.

Speaker 1: Very weird intro for you today, young lady.

Speaker 3: Me?

Speaker 1: Weird intro?

Speaker 4: No, I said that was a very weird one for

Speaker 4: you today. Usually it's all in unison today. A little fragmented.

Speaker 1: How are you doing?

Speaker 5: Well, I just rushed over here. The rainy traffic. I'm

Speaker 5: all out of sorts.

Speaker 1: How's your week been?

Speaker 5: Pretty good. I really like the rainy kind of coziness

Speaker 5: that's going on.

Speaker 1: We love it, too. I love it. It's very nice.

Speaker 1: We actually talked about that.

Speaker 4: And it's weird because what we thought was, is we

Speaker 4: thought it was kind of generational. We were a little

Speaker 4: bit older than you. We were like, man, we love

Speaker 4: to pile up.

Speaker 5: Not that much.

Speaker 4: We love to pile up and just kind of hang

Speaker 4: out on days like this. We didn't know if it

Speaker 4: was a generational thing, but Ross said he likes to

Speaker 4: as well. And you're even younger than Ross.

Speaker 1: And you like to as well.

Speaker 4: Yeah.

Speaker 5: I love to get a little cozy.

Speaker 4: Yeah, nothing wrong with that. Chloe G joins us every

Speaker 4: Thursday around 4 o'clock, courtesy of the Orlando Weekly, OrlandoWeekly.com.

Speaker 4: If you want to read her other columns, you can

Speaker 4: do that as well. She comes in to kind of

Speaker 4: tell us some things going on this weekend, give you

Speaker 4: a heads up on some cool things that are happening

Speaker 4: that maybe you and the fam can join in on.

Speaker 1: What you got for us this week?

Speaker 5: I have lots of spooky things to do this weekend.

Speaker 5: I'm really excited about it.

Speaker 1: All right, let's go.

Speaker 5: Okay, so first, Far Reach Screen Park is now open

Speaker 5: for the month. So this is a huge horror attraction

Speaker 5: located on a blueberry farm in Tavares. There are haunted houses,

Speaker 5: scare zones, a gaming area where you can kind of compete,

Speaker 5: play little games, live entertainment, and a themed bar dubbed

Speaker 5: the Pitchfork Parlor. So this attraction was actually started because

Speaker 5: the founder wanted a fun place where his cramps cover

Speaker 5: band could perform. And ever since then, he's been doing

Speaker 5: it for a few years, and that really was the

Speaker 5: sole reason why he threw it together. And ever since then,

Speaker 5: it's turned into this kind of cult-followed little horror park.

Speaker 5: So his band, The Dismembered, are the in-house entertainment. They

Speaker 5: perform every night. And there are two main haunted houses

Speaker 5: on site. There's a cyanide circus, which is a sideshow

Speaker 5: themed show with fire eating, sword swallowing. Whoa. It's a

Speaker 5: tough one. And then more daring kind of tricks. And

Speaker 5: we did speak to the founder over at the Orlando Weekly,

Speaker 5: and he really lovingly talked about the kind of cult

Speaker 5: following that they have gotten. And this year, they're even

Speaker 5: having a couple get married on site.

Speaker 1: Wow, really?

Speaker 4: I just saw an ad for this thing for the

Speaker 4: first time. I'd never even heard of this. And I

Speaker 4: was like, wow, dude, that looks way cooler. It's a

Speaker 4: local haunt, kind of like our friends up in Altamont Springs,

Speaker 4: Petrified Forest.

Speaker 1: Yeah. But this is the first time I've heard of

Speaker 1: this one. But it looks really fun.

Speaker 5: Yeah. I think it also is going to be so

Speaker 5: scary because it's just on a farm. So like what's

Speaker 5: going on in the dark out there, you know? And

Speaker 5: that is on starting this weekend on select nights through

Speaker 5: October 24th. And then tickets start.

Speaker 1: At $ 20. Nice.

Speaker 5: Pretty good. And then you mentioned Petrified Forest. I was

Speaker 5: also going to touch on that a little bit. So

Speaker 5: it's back in Altamont Springs. This is the Immersive Forest

Speaker 5: Scare Trails event that they hold every year. This year,

Speaker 5: they are introducing a couple of new trails, including Psychosis.

Speaker 5: which is an immersive horror experience where the scare actors

Speaker 5: are allowed to touch you.

Speaker 1: Oh, man. Oh, yeah. We sound a little excited about that.

Speaker 5: I don't think I would like that. I barely like

Speaker 5: giving hugs. I really don't think I would like that one.

Speaker 1: I'm going shirtless. Yeah. And hoping for the best.

Speaker 5: And they go all out there. It's so terrifying.

Speaker 4: I'm looking to tip somebody. It's one of our favorites. Actually,

Speaker 4: we've been helping them advertise this thing for many, many years.

Speaker 5: Yeah.

Speaker 4: And they're wonderful people who do this. And Jack and

Speaker 4: I both kind of marvel. If you ever drive by

Speaker 4: that location when it's not Halloween season, it just simply

Speaker 4: looks like an empty lot. It doesn't really look anything.

Speaker 4: And the way they transform that thing into what it

Speaker 4: turns out to be for this holiday is bananas.

Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, exactly. I know some people who

Speaker 5: do the scare acting there, too. They're nuts. They're all crazy.

Speaker 1: They're all freaks. I'll keep that in mind.

Speaker 5: So, yeah. And they also offer a chicken lanyard, which

Speaker 5: will fend off the scare actors if you kind of

Speaker 5: don't want to interact with them. So there's really kind

Speaker 5: of a little something for everyone. And then, yeah, as

Speaker 5: you know, besides the haunted trails, they have a backstage

Speaker 5: tour option, a scavenger hunt situation, laser tag. Tickets start

Speaker 5: at $ 38 and go up to $ 62 for different sort

Speaker 5: of package deals that they offer.

Speaker 4: They also do food trucks and a DJ and all

Speaker 4: kinds of stuff up there.

Speaker 1: It's a total thing.

Speaker 5: Yeah, total big spooky thing. And all tickets do come

Speaker 5: with free parking and a trolley ride from the parking

Speaker 5: area to the trip.

Speaker 4: Which is right there. Don't get freaked out about it.

Speaker 4: It's not that far, but it can be necessary and

Speaker 4: it's just a little bit there.

Speaker 1: One year it was themed. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And when

Speaker 1: you got under the trolley, it was like, you'll never

Speaker 1: get off.

Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1: And it was really fun.

Speaker 5: Wow, love it. And that is on select nights through

Speaker 5: the 31st, so through Halloween. Another little bit of a

Speaker 5: spooky situation this weekend. So Castleberry's Historic Society is hosting

Speaker 5: a Night of the Mystic Arts. This is a mystical

Speaker 5: night market that nods to the roots of Halloween. There

Speaker 5: will be lots of vendors dishing out oddities and spooky services.

Speaker 5: like fortune-telling, tarot card reading, orb photography, aura reading, and more.

Speaker 1: Wow, Deb, right up your alley. Oh, yeah, absolutely. You

Speaker 1: guys love that? I should have your aura read. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1: I don't want to scare anyone. No, it'd probably scare you.

Speaker 5: I think it'd be great. It sounds awesome. The orb

Speaker 5: photography is so cool. They take your picture and see

Speaker 5: kind of there's like spirits around you.

Speaker 1: Oh, very nice.

Speaker 5: Very spooky.

Speaker 4: His middle name is Perkins, so there's going to be

Speaker 4: some generals somewhere.

Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1: And they're going to be wearing gray uniforms.

Speaker 5: Oh, no.

Speaker 4: A lot of dudes in wool.

Speaker 1: Jack with the smart people chips.

Speaker 5: Guys, I'm sweating. So this is happening at Lake Concord

Speaker 5: Park in Castleberry. There's also a little like shopping situation.

Speaker 5: So you can shop through jewelry, knickknacks and other little

Speaker 5: vendor goods. And yes, at the park at Castleberry on Friday,

Speaker 5: starting at 5 p.m. And it's free to attend.

Speaker 1: Nice.

Speaker 5: Very fun. Aziz Ansari is performing in Orlando this weekend.

Speaker 3: Is he really?

Speaker 5: Oh, yes, he is.

Speaker 3: Wow.

Speaker 5: So, you know, he's known for both his stand-up comedy

Speaker 5: and acting in very comedy-heavy roles like Parks and Rec.

Speaker 5: And then he has several Netflix comedy specials under his

Speaker 5: belt already. He also has been doing FBI Director Kash

Speaker 5: Patel on SNL this year.

Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5: Very funny.

Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5: So he's bringing his stand-up tour, the hypothetical tour, to

Speaker 5: Hard Rock Live on Sunday, which This tour touches on

Speaker 5: new material that he says ranges from AI and subway

Speaker 5: etiquette to aging parents and infertility.

Speaker 1: Oh, very cool.

Speaker 5: So all the hot topics. All the hot topics.

Speaker 4: I thought his first album was really good. I thought

Speaker 4: his initial offering in the comedy world was like balls funny.

Speaker 5: Yeah, he's a very funny little man.

Speaker 1: He's got my, I know he doesn't need it, but

Speaker 1: he has my approval. I think he's a beast. Yeah,

Speaker 1: he's super funny. Good.

Speaker 5: I'm glad he has your approval. You should let him know.

Speaker 1: I'll text him.

Speaker 5: He's welcome. He's welcome in the city. And his Orlando

Speaker 5: show is going to close out a three-night Florida stretch.

Speaker 5: And then he's heading north where he will be taping

Speaker 5: his seventh Netflix stand-up special. So this is a good

Speaker 5: chance to catch his new material early before it goes

Speaker 5: out on Netflix.

Speaker 1: Very cool.

Speaker 5: And he performs at the Hard Rock Live on Sunday

Speaker 5: at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $ 76. Damn.

Speaker 4: And throwing this out here, you're seeing the best version

Speaker 4: then of that set. If this is the last couple

Speaker 4: of shows before the special taping, then you are going

Speaker 4: to see a heightened performance.

Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly. So very funny stuff happening over there. On

Speaker 5: Sunday as well, the Mills 50 Fall Fest is returning.

Speaker 5: So this is a free family-friendly and dog-friendly fall event.

Speaker 5: Hopefully it does not get rained out. As of right now,

Speaker 5: it happens at the House on Lang and Gold Dust Home,

Speaker 5: which are two locally owned small businesses. So really great

Speaker 5: little places to support. There will be artists, vendors, live music,

Speaker 5: food and drinks. There will be cocktails served by the

Speaker 5: Guest House, which is another cocktail bar right in that area.

Speaker 5: Very good drinks. And there will be beer and wine

Speaker 5: available for purchase. Music is from Bithlow Possum Revival and

Speaker 5: then Wendy and Steve and Bill Massey.

Speaker 1: Oh, very nice.

Speaker 5: Live music.

Speaker 3: Nice.

Speaker 5: And proceeds from the event go back into benefiting the

Speaker 5: Mills 50 community. So you're really just soaking up some

Speaker 5: neighborly love in there.

Speaker 1: And while you're there, go over to Blackhurst and have

Speaker 1: a taco.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 5: You can hop around you can get food here you

Speaker 5: can get a drink over here and go back here

Speaker 5: and get a yeah.

Speaker 4: Yeah all day yeah that's awesome yeah like that virginia

Speaker 4: drive runs right there so 10 10s in play yeah.

Speaker 5: You could you can really get really full of food.

Speaker 1: And drinks yeah easily in that corner.

Speaker 5: And, yeah, the Mills 50 Fall Fest happens on Sunday

Speaker 5: from 1 to 6 p.m.

Speaker 4: That's going to be its best choice not to get

Speaker 4: rained out. It's supposed to start kind of peacing out

Speaker 4: around Sunday afternoon is when things are starting to kind

Speaker 4: of clear up a little bit. So I think that's

Speaker 4: going to be the best opportunity, which is good.

Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm thinking that's going to hold out for the weekend.

Speaker 5: Some other things we're worried about, but I think that's

Speaker 5: going to hold out. Yeah, and that's what I have

Speaker 5: for you. you this week.

Speaker 1: Nice. Thank you. Appreciate that very much. How's your week been?

Speaker 1: Everything good?

Speaker 5: Pretty good. Like I said, I love the rain. It's

Speaker 5: kind of making me a little sleepy every day, but

Speaker 5: I'll take it. I'm very happy.

Speaker 1: How's the new ride? Everything good?

Speaker 5: I love my new car. I want to hit the

Speaker 5: road every second of the day. Let me get out there.

Speaker 1: When Ross got his, I think he parked it outside

Speaker 1: so he could just look out the window. It's addicting.

Speaker 5: You really, you really, you're sitting inside and you're thinking

Speaker 5: about it. Like, I hope she's okay out there. I

Speaker 5: hope the driveway is treating her well.

Speaker 1: Do you name your car? It's a thing. I did.

Speaker 5: My last car was named. I don't know about this

Speaker 5: one yet.

Speaker 1: What was the last car's name?

Speaker 5: My first car was Sandy because I lived in a

Speaker 5: beach town. So she was always disgusting.

Speaker 1: Okay.

Speaker 2: Sand.

Speaker 5: Um, second car was Georgia.

Speaker 1: Okay. Is there a reason?

Speaker 5: I just had a very memorable little road trip to

Speaker 5: Georgia and her. And then this one is unnamed so far.

Speaker 1: Unnamed. Yes. The name has to come to you, right?

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 1: It has to come to you. It's got to be

Speaker 1: a mutual experience that you have with your new ride.

Speaker 5: Yes, it has to reflect the personality. I'm taking suggestions

Speaker 5: if anybody has. Maybe we'll do a little name reveal.

Speaker 1: Who knows? Do you have a road trip planned with

Speaker 1: the new ride?

Speaker 5: I'm actually going to Atlanta next week to visit a friend.

Speaker 5: So maybe this one will be Georgia part two.

Speaker 1: We'll see. Peaches. Peaches.

Speaker 5: That's very cute.

Speaker 1: Are you going to see the whale sharks? No.

Speaker 4: Do you know about the aquarium in Atlanta?

Speaker 5: Oh, yeah. I won't be visiting the aquarium, I don't think.

Speaker 5: Maybe I'll try to squeeze it in.

Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4: Is this a party weekend? Do you like take weekends?

Speaker 4: You're like, it is time. We are going to get loose.

Speaker 1: I'm driving up Friday, Saturday. I'm not going to remember. Sunday,

Speaker 1: I'm going to recoup, and then Monday back home.

Speaker 5: No, I'm a very responsible young lady.

Speaker 1: I think it's a facade.

Speaker 5: During October, though, I do really like to squeeze in

Speaker 5: every weekend a chance to kind of throw a costume together.

Speaker 1: Maybe, dress up.

Speaker 4: Hey, let's go around the room. What do you think

Speaker 4: our favorite drink is? Like cocktail, not beer, because you

Speaker 4: told us you like beer, right?

Speaker 5: I like beer.

Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1: What's your favorite cocktail? What do you think, Ross? Fancy Navel.

Speaker 4: I'll go with like a seltzer and gin or something,

Speaker 4: like a light drink.

Speaker 1: Deb is really doing some studying here. What do you think?

Speaker 1: I was going to go old-fashioned, but then I might

Speaker 1: lean toward a Paloma. Yeah, Paloma? Okay.

Speaker 4: For some reason, man, I just have you as a

Speaker 4: simple vodka tonic, vodka crayon, maybe something like that.

Speaker 1: That's what I'm thinking. Ginger and... Gin and tonic. Yeah,

Speaker 1: that's what I was looking for.

Speaker 5: My go-to is tequila soda.

Speaker 1: Really? Yeah. Wow.

Speaker 4: Yep.

Speaker 1: Oh, you just want some points with Ross. You know why?

Speaker 5: If you drink enough of them, they taste like water.

Speaker 1: Oh, do they really?

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 1: Every time. You don't flavor it with like lemon or

Speaker 1: lime or something?

Speaker 5: No, I'll get a lime.

Speaker 1: I'll get a lime. Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 1: And this is what you've been drinking for a while? Like,

Speaker 1: do you have a specific tequila you like?

Speaker 5: I like Espolone, but, and the expensive ones. And then

Speaker 5: other than that, other than that, I'll just say whatever.

Speaker 1: It doesn't matter.

Speaker 5: It doesn't matter.

Speaker 1: Very good. Wow. Look at that. What's your favorite beer?

Speaker 5: I like lagers, kind of like lighter beers, I think.

Speaker 1: Yeah, very good. Well, have yourself a fantastic weekend, and

Speaker 1: thanks for the heads up. Guys, give it up for

Speaker 1: Chloe G. What do you say?

Speaker 4: And again, everything today is in the pages of the

Speaker 4: Orlando Weekly, plus other stuff as well, right?

Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.

Speaker 5: Plenty to read. Plenty of fall activities, haunted things to do.

Speaker 1: Lots of stuff. Very nice. Always good seeing you. You

Speaker 1: as well. Thank you.

Speaker 4: 407-916-1041. Text 77031. 4 o'clock keyword is dollar.

Speaker 1: D-O-L-L-A-R.

Speaker 4: Slide over to realradio.fm and send that away for your

Speaker 4: chance at a thousand bucks. Back in a sec with

Speaker 4: more of the Jim Colbert Show.
