Speaker 1: It's the Internet. You're busy, Let's do this. Welcome to

the Game As Decides Podcast. This is the podcast where

we decide everything about the world of video games so

you never have to think for yourself. I'm your host

Jeff Grubb and with me is Mike Manatta. In today's episode,

the saber Ceo situation, Twitches, Ai Bullshit, and the mount

rushmore of first person puzzle games. But first, Mike MANAUGHTI

I would like to issue an apology.

Speaker 2: I'm not mad.

Speaker 1: You were not mad. Just sometimes it's hard to tell,

like you're just you have an idea?

Speaker 2: Or is he mad? I can't tell, but you know,

I assumed.

Speaker 3: I have a big personality and god damn it, it's

the last of the dorts.

Speaker 2: Oh shit. Okay, well then you have every right now

to be mad. Now I'm mad, but I get it.

You won't like me when I'm.

Speaker 1: Don't stand between this man and his dorts. Yeah, you

you got a trip coming up. We had a fun

day at work today.

Speaker 2: It's uh. You know, you got a weekend to look

forward to. Are you fan? Yeah? I am.

Speaker 3: I'm going to fan Best Fan Expo Chicago's. That was

a fan expo Chicago. It's like a comic com but

without that nerdy word comic.

Speaker 2: It's all right. So yeah, and it's funny. It is

like I didn't know much about this.

Speaker 3: My brother was kind of took a point on this,

like we're gonna go see the Hobbits. I was like, Okay,

now I'm looking at like USh, all sorts of people

are gonna be there. I did get us like a

group picture thing with Christopher Lloyd. That's like the big

one I saw of all these other people. I love

Back to the Future. I love woof and Roger Rabbit.

He's even in a Star Trek movie.

Speaker 2: Yes, he's great. Yeah, I love him in that. I've

been watching a lot of taxi clips lately, So Chris H. Lloyd,

that's you.

Speaker 3: But like God, like Kurt Russell, John Carper, Sam Raimi,

like all sorts of like John Rey's Davies, Danny Glover,

all sorts of people are gonna be there.

Speaker 2: Uh. It's it's wild how many are doing this. Uh.

Speaker 1: If I had John Rees Davies signed something, I would

have him say bad dates to Jeff Grubb.

Speaker 2: That would that'd be pretty good. That would be funny.

I don't I'm I'm not a big signature guy.

Speaker 1: Not nothing against it, but I'm just it's not for me.

But pictures with cool people? Sure, why not? Like, yeah,

that seems good, seems like a good time. It's like,

what's sets the picture is not much more expensive.

Speaker 2: In the picture, you.

Speaker 3: Can like do up to four people, uh in most cases,

and it's like, well, this is much more cost effective

than the signature. Sure, I'm just gonna lose or put

in storage someday.

Speaker 2: Huh. Like if I have a jpeg Christopher, that I'll

be Christopher.

Speaker 3: I can show people sometimes I think I'll actually get

much more joy out of that.

Speaker 2: Yes, for sure. So you guys are like driving there tomorrow,

what's the plan.

Speaker 3: Yeah, we're driving pretty early in the morning, so we're

gonna get there. We're actually gonna get in time to

go to Wrigley to catch a baseball game. I've been

there a couple of times and just like love it,

love the baseball, news of it.

Speaker 2: I mean anything, I forget about the Guardians, am I right? Yeah?

Speaker 3: And they're incredibly big. Like I have no idea if

the Cubs are any good. I don't even know they're playing.

But my Brothers haven't been really wriggly a Field yet

or wrigley Ville, and I think they'll lick that a lot,

so weird like that.

Speaker 1: MVP candidate, Right, Yeah, I think they do, so that'd

be worth seeing at the very least. But yeah, well

that's that's exciting. Yeah, that name a fan expo. It's

just an exposition of fandom. That is what you're going to.

Speaker 3: And they're playing these on and like, I wonder if

this is like I went to Chicago probably like twelve

years ago and I saw a bunch of Star Chek people.

Back then it was called like Wonder Con or something

like that. Oh yeah, totally, And I want to be

off to like that has just rebranded itself or something

like that has happened, and now these things are called

fan expo. I don't know, but it's definitely one of

these kind of professional we put these on companies.

Speaker 1: You gotta uh, you're gonna get pictures with any cosplayers.

You're gonna see any girls, get some pictures with them.

Speaker 2: We'll see.

Speaker 3: When I went to that one, like I said, like

thirteen years ago, it was the time where pretty much

every girl was Harley Quinn and every guy was Deadpool.

I'm not sure if much has changed. It's not sure

much has changed. Yeah, but if I see some fun ones,

I'll maybe get try to get a picture. Yeah, yeah, yeah,

it looks like wonder Con is still around, by the way,

that's still a thing.

Speaker 4: So I don't know, you're not signed off, but Gibson

because he's gonna be either.

Speaker 3: Gonna be there, and that's weird. That seems like that's

a weird one to meet. Yeah, that's just like a

famous problem.

Speaker 2: What the fuck is Danny did you say? Danny Glover,

Danny the old Man Glover is gonna be there, Dolph Lungrum.

Speaker 3: I mean, I could just list these names. It's Ron Perlman.

I'm sure how many people are gonna be there. It's

a lot. Yeah, ro Pro is a dude. He's a

real dude. I guess Danny Glover actually.

Speaker 4: Christopher Mbert, you can ask him about those shitty movies he.

Speaker 2: Did, I will say one of the other ones.

Speaker 3: So if they actually have the so they have all

four of the people who are in the turtle suits

from the first Teenage Ninja Turtles movie and the person

who played April O'Neil in that one. But the important

thing about that is that the person who was in

the Dona Tello turtle suit, Ernie Reyes Junior, was also

Keeno and Secret of the Ooze, and that's what action matters.

Maybe should bring my t g R I Ken'tiser and

have him sign.

Speaker 2: That action should it be cool?

Speaker 1: Yeah, that'd be excellent, Christopher Lambert, you get him as

sign your DVD copy of Mortal Kombat the movie.

Speaker 2: That'd be cool.

Speaker 1: Okay, come on, all right, well, thank you everybody for

to get into, so let's let's do all of this

right after a quick break.

Speaker 5: Oh shit, William Bowling, let's fucking.

Speaker 1: Go all right, all right, Mike, there's there's just there's

something in the water with these CEOs going on, don't

I don't know, uh sabers ceo.

Speaker 4: Uh.

Speaker 1: He basically posted a text a text rant in reply

to PC gamer and I think this Week in Video

Games asking him about this Stella Saco, who said, Hey,

I was I was laid off from Saber Games. I

was working on the Uber simulator game or stimulator. I

stilln't know what's called stimulator. I was working on I

was writing that and then they replaced me with with AI.

They replaced me with chat GPT and you know that

seems okay, that seems pretty rough, and you would expect

them to go like, look here, well, I mean, you know,

maybe we don't we disagree with her characterization Pat pat,

or shut the fuck up. There is another option, though, Mike,

you could write this. This is from the CEO of Saber, Stella,

who I had to ask Claude the AI agent, because.

Speaker 2: I have never spoken to her or seen her.

Speaker 1: We have already said we are using AI for certain

parts of the game, and will update the Steam page

once we have finalized the feature set. Let me clarify

that the entire story script were to win, an award

would go to someone who can walk up on stage

and receive it. It was always our intention to reveal

this until Stella violated her confidentiality clause and revealed this before.

Speaker 2: We were ready.

Speaker 1: We look at our rise or our use of AI

in this particular game, which will be a lowered price

title as a plus for consumers. As far as Stella

is concerned, she was replaced by someone more talented and

terminated for a variety of reasons a few months later.

From what I can gather, she enjoys controversy even more

than I do. I would, frankly in retrospect, have been

happy to replace her with AI. At least we would

be dealing with someone programmed to be honest. Yeah, I

mean just like re sentence is dripping with the evidence

that this guy sucks.

Speaker 2: You know what, Junny sucks.

Speaker 3: I did not know about. I did not know Claude.

I never heard of that one of a I think.

So first, I'm like, oh, I guess he didn't know.

I was like, and I had to talk to their

I don't know, personnel director or something that I found out.

I was like, Jesus fucking So it's like, of course

we aren't replaces with AI. Excuse me why I go

talk to my AI, Like, yeah, well, it seems to

be something you are constantly thinking about in him concerned

about actually Christ. And it seems like obviously what the

Claude was like write a response to this in the

style of Donald Trump, Right, it's just full of like

put downs and passive not I not even know passive aggressive, right,

active aggressive Jesus freaking Christ, so freaking weird, and like,

you know, I'll say what I said this morning where

it's like, oh yeah, when I hear the saber is

this guy.

Speaker 1: Everyone hates this guy. Everyone who works there hates this guy.

They they like it's by far the worst part of

their job is anything that interacts with him. He has

nothing to do with making the games. He is, like,

if you've liked a Saber game, it has nothing to

do with the CEO, big surprise. Like, of course that

almost is true across this industry for the most part, but.

Speaker 2: It's especially true here.

Speaker 1: And it's it's a bumber because this is still like

tainting that brand and and all those people doing that

hard work are now gonna have to be under this.

It's just like, what do you what does he think

he's accomplishing here? I bet he thinks he looks cool.

I bet he thinks like he'll be able to go

go golf club or something and tell the other rich

people about how he got him. And it's it's uh,

it's pathetic. It's pathetic and weird. And there are reasons,

there are lots of reasons. We don't see statements like

this from executives in Indian in any industry, but gaming. Yeah,

people are gonna remember this and and carry it forward

and hold it again. And Saber just really baffling behavior

from a growth.

Speaker 3: It's bathleting, Like, boy, your company could be so likable

because you guys put out interesting games.

Speaker 2: You have to open your mouth.

Speaker 3: I mean, first, off, you have to do horrible things,

which you know allegedly quite a quote, but boy, I

sure you believe it that. Yeah, you're probably fired people

and replacing them with AI and are super excited about it.

You probably think it's really fucking cool. You probably think

it's really innovative.

Speaker 2: Huh.

Speaker 3: You think that's hot shit that you're talking to Claude

all the time for this bullshit, Christ Almighty to say it's.

Speaker 2: Not a shock. We've even seen that Jurassic Park gam forever.

I don't know.

Speaker 1: I mean, that's that's like, that's the thing, like they

work with a lot of outside brands, like they work

with big companies that are their partners. Universal is going

to be like, hey, wait, aren't you making our Jurassic

Park game?

Speaker 2: What are you doing this for?

Speaker 1: People are going to come and ask us questions about

your behavior and what it means for the game that's

based on our property, and it will reflect poorly on us.

And does he not does he not consider that?

Speaker 2: Again?

Speaker 1: I think he thinks that the Universal will be impressed

by this behavior, and.

Speaker 2: They won't be. They fucking won't be.

Speaker 1: Some of the people there are adults, not and maybe

not everyone a company like Universal with the who the

hell knows, But some people are gonna be like aghast,

which again I think like ninety nine percent of the

people at Saber are the same way, where they're just

embarrassed by this and.

Speaker 2: Just sucks.

Speaker 1: It doesn't take a lot for one of these idiots

to come out here and talk this way and really

make everyone everyone's day that much worse for in terms

of who works for him. Yeah, we'll see, you know,

Stella has been kind of just writing this out and

we'll see if like anything more comes to this, because

this could rise to a level of of libel or whatever,

like like, can you prove that she was replaced by

someone like you're saying like she was terminated for a

variety of reasons. That's like, okay, that might make it

more difficult for her to get work in the future

or something like that. Are you ready Are you prepared

to defend that? I would bet not based on just

the irresponsibility of this response.

Speaker 3: Right, and for him to be like, well, she had

an agreement, she can't say these things like all right, well,

even if that's legally right, he definitely seems to be

in the moral right here and that's all I have

to care about, just the God, just absolutely. I hope

there's some kind of repercussions. I hope there's some people

at Saber who can stand up to this guy and

be like, what the fuck are you doing? You can't

do this, what's wrong with you? It's not that big

a company. I don't know why this guy suddenly feels

like he's king hot shit over there.

Speaker 2: Just really freaking weird, embarrassing.

Speaker 1: And this is the guy that was in asmen Gold's

comments being like love your stuff, dude.

Speaker 3: Asben Gold, who, to remind you, is currently banned on

Twitch because he advocated shooting children. Yep, only in temporary

plans banded so far though.

Speaker 2: You say you should shoot kids at two weeks. I mean, listen.

Speaker 1: Twitch has got its own problems, including sure you can't

seed streamers content to train jennertive AI by default. Chris

calling Over at VGC kind of wrote this up, but

basically the story is that they've updated their terms of

service agreement whatever the contract that they have with their

users to say, hey, we're going to train our AI

models based on your behavior on our site, and you

can go into the settings where it's buried and turn

that off if you want to opt out, but by

default it is you are opted in. You will have

to make an extra effort if you don't want to

be involved with this. And they didn't have a lot

of answers like well, what does that mean in certain

scenarios like Hey, I'm.

Speaker 2: Going to opt out of this immediately?

Speaker 1: What does that mean for any data I might have

that might have been collected from me up to this

point that it's probably still going to be used to

train the model. What about if I am a chatter,

a public user who has a Twitch account and I

opted out, and then I show up in the Twitch

chat of someone who did not opt out, Will I

be in the model?

Speaker 2: Very likely you will be.

Speaker 1: What if I am another twitch streamer who opted out

and I coul stream with someone who didn't opt out,

will well, it's sort of default to my state because

I've opted out. They don't have an answer for that.

They better fucking have an answer for that, because that's like, again,

this is stuff that is is going to be more

and more regulated in the future. But like violating that

agreement and like putting it forth and then violating and

being like, well, no, this person said, yes, so you're

gonna have to deal with that. That's you know, figure

that one out. And then what about like the games

the people are playing? Are you training the model based

on those games? Like that? That's copyrighted material, no matter

who like is streaming it and agreed to whatever or

didn't or failed to opt out of whatever. The games

didn't opt into this, The people who made the games

didn't do that. So what does this mean Twitch other

than you're just kind of sneaking your way around. And

they said, exactly what it means if we made it

opt in where it's defaulted to opting like your default.

By default, you're opted out. They said, no one would

opt in, and it's like, yeah, that's right, that's true.

Speaker 3: What does that tell I mean, yeah, no one wants it,

and you know that, and you're making us do it.

Speaker 2: Anyways, that's why people are mad.

Speaker 3: I mean, you know, aside from the you know the

fact that AI sucks and you're you know, using our

work and voices and texts to train AI to eventually

replace us all in the things that we like, there's

lots of reasons to.

Speaker 2: Be real fucking mad about all of this.

Speaker 3: My god, my god, it's just such a Again. I

wonder if there's some disconnect between the super tech everybody

loves AI people at Amazon and just maybe people pleading

with them, gamers. A lot of our audience are gonna

fucking hate this ship off. Normal people hate this shit.

This is gonna be such a terrible look. Maybe amaz

All just doesn't care because they could sell and it's

data that could sell. And you know, I'm sure that

if they ever pay attention to Twitch, it's probably to

be upset that it's not making more money. And here's

one way where they can make some money off of

twitch yay.

Speaker 2: Yep, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1: Protecting the sanctity of twitchet, keeping it as a place

where it's cool and fun to hang out that doesn't

begin to register for them.

Speaker 2: It is what money can we squeeze from this thing?

Speaker 1: And and that's going to it's gonna look like initiatives

like this going forward.

Speaker 2: Yeah. They they basically just said they would use this.

Speaker 1: They would train a bunch of stuff, including like voice

models and doing close captions and stuff like that.

Speaker 3: But Thomas they're beholden to. Once they have their data,

they're gonna be able to be able to do whatever

they want with it once like they people legally acquire

from still sell.

Speaker 2: It to people.

Speaker 3: Of course they would the moment any of these companies

had our addresses or email addresses are just like our

age range.

Speaker 2: They found out that was valuable, and so of course

they all did it. They're not going to pause to

do that. Mm hmm.

Speaker 1: It's it's yeah, and again there's like there's some regulation

on this stuff, but it's hodgepotch, and it's uh doesn't

necessarily applying a lot of territories, a lot of regions,

and it's it feels like, you know, we're pushing in

those directions, but it takes a lot of efforts, and

all these companies continue to lobby against it and make

it more difficult to uh, to actually put those regulations

into place. So it does feel like we're always you know,

the shit is rolling downhill and we're all standing down

here catching all this stuff while they run away with

all the money created by all the value that we

have by using their stuff. And it's like, well, we don't,

of course, like maybe we should actually get compensated for

this stuff right through that never yeah, like I wouldn't

often anyways, But I want to be like, are you

gonna give me more money?

Speaker 3: If by often you're claiming this data is valuable, well

then it should be valuable to me as well, right

Like that.

Speaker 2: Why do you You're the one who could sell it

and make any guidline?

Speaker 3: So no, you can't have my fucking screen type like

you said, Like, I know, there's ways for it to

differentiate between me.

Speaker 2: And the game. It's the audio that's all gonna get

mixing together.

Speaker 3: It's just strange what parts are being great to what

parts aren't yep uh and then Aasha Sharma uh to

kind of complete the executive roundtable here, Asha Sharma went

to go to see Elder Scroll.

Speaker 1: Six at Pathesda, said it looked good and said the

story is just the best thing she's ever.

Speaker 2: Seen or whatever. That doesn't even mean these games don't

tell good stories.

Speaker 3: I think she just thought she had to say that, yes,

because he assumes people care about.

Speaker 2: The story in these games, because it's fair people like

the lore.

Speaker 3: But what story could she possibly have witnessed in her like,

I don't know, graciously, two hour.

Speaker 2: Demo of that, I don't know what the fuck that means. Sure,

the scroll and Grandeur are incredible.

Speaker 1: The story is even greater again just always with her

always sounds like it is written by co pilot.

Speaker 2: Yes, speaking about Claude and all this shit.

Speaker 1: Live playthrough of the Elder Scrolls six blank this morning,

she wrote on Twitter. Uh, and there's eight asterisks there.

I don't I don't think we need to assume that

means anything. I think everyone has to be clear. Everyone's like, well,

this is a puzzle we have to sell now. I'm like,

I could just be a random number of asterisks. I

don't know, but everyone's like, no, clearly, that's how many

characters are in the title for this game.

Speaker 2: Cool, yep, yep, exactly it is. Yeah. Eight.

Speaker 1: So people are trying to piece together whatever they can

or fit fit whatever they can in there, and so

this is that is you're helping you. You're the baby

reaching up at the jingling keys right now, stop that.

I want to swat your hands away. Yeah, this is

a game that is still far away. So whenever they

try to trot the stuff out in these moments to

make people feel good about Xbox again, it has zero

effect on me. But apparently it's working on some fans.

So we'll see and then let's see here. Oh yeah,

the War in the North Legacy edition, it's back. It

was came out in twenty eleven from Warner Brothers. It

is an action rpg. You know, Diablos is the first

place everyone goes. This one's maybe a little bit more

like what is it boulders Gate A Dark a.

Speaker 2: Dark Alliance Alliance?

Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, fact to think it was that team honestly,

actually really that you know what?

Speaker 2: That makes sense?

Speaker 3: Actually I might be making that up, but I think

those are maybe some of the people who made this game,

Champions and Nora f people at least, Yeah, there you go,

h did it? Which is a very simil Yeah, yeah's

the Dark Lines people. Never mind Snowbline Okay, awesome, Yes,

and so yeah that's uh. I never played this game,

but I tell you, every day I think a little

bit more. I'm like, man, I want to go back

to like all that Lord of the Ring shit when

the movie is coming out and they were like really

going hard because some of those games were really good.

Some of them were media mediocre in a fun way

where it's like they still had really great character models

based on the likenesses of the actors. This is this

one has that and then apparently it's pretty solid.

Speaker 2: Did you ever try this one? No?

Speaker 3: No, I played the demo I think or something, but

I remember at the time it got very middling reviews.

I kind of didn't. I've seen some re evaluations of

recent years. They're like, this thing's kind of more fun

than we let on, Like it's stupid, sure kind of, so.

Speaker 2: You know, it's not a bad time.

Speaker 1: They was probably getting compared to those really uh, I

would say widely beloved EA games. Uh those are those

are a couple of those EA games that are really good? Sure, yeah, right, exactly.

Speaker 3: And you know, this is at a time where you know,

we've we're maybe wearing the God of Warston on the character.

Action stuff with with these action games are honestly not

even a ton of these kind of taking off right.

Third person shooters was the the thing at the moment

at this time, and again, the license game just kind

of was was poisoned to so many people in general.

Not get I don't think this is an amazing game,

but I'm kind of curious about checking this out for sure.

Speaker 1: Uh yeah, I'm uh, we're probably we'll probably boot this

up on upf for a little bit at the very least,

so we'll let you know how it goes, Mikey.

Speaker 2: Yeah, all right. That so those are the big topics

we're going to talk about.

Speaker 1: Let's take a break, we'll come back, we'll hit the

super chats, talk about what people want to talk about

there right after this, we'll be right back. All right,

we are back, Mike. We've got a handful of super chats.

Let's let's do those.

Speaker 3: We absolutely did. Let me start from the top here

with the Great Goblin says with Daisy as the Mario

Gaxy post credit. I think the next three d Mario

in the switch to gent is going to give her

a big push like Odesty did for Paul Leek.

Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely. Yeah.

Speaker 3: I mean we already had her in Wonder, right, which

was kind of actually a big moment for Daisy.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 3: I agree, we'll be seeing her in Bracey It's work.

She always is in everything. So she even was in

the Smash Brothers you mean Smash Bros. Before while Luigi

did right.

Speaker 1: Oh that's interesting, yeah, because she was always like the

Sho's the equivalent, right, the tennis doubles partner, right.

Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. So yeah, I don't know like how much

more that can mean. I don't think Daisy's about to

get some like her own game or something like. Maybe

she shows up in the next third mar game. Maybe

she's in that, and that'd be the first time she's

in a three D Mario game.

Speaker 1: Right, and Pauline's probably the right sort of yeah, north

Star there of Pauline showed up in a big way

in one of those games.

Speaker 2: She didn't get her own game.

Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that way, Jerrys's Mike, I think you demo

Dusk Fade at some point. But the full game is great.

It's the most two thousand and four ass action platformer

imaginable parenthesis positive hashtag boy ballad there yep.

Speaker 2: I got this downloaded earlier today.

Speaker 1: I have not touched it yet, though, but it does

it looks a lot like a PS two platformer.

Speaker 2: Yeah, it looks pretty freaking I see. I don't know

if I did play this honestly, personally, I don't remember

you mentioning it. I feel like I would have.

Speaker 3: Yeah, it looks like he kind of has some like, yeah,

like Jack and Daxter vibes to it, you know.

Speaker 2: Million percent. Yes, I'm gonna I'll give it a try.

Speaker 1: I'll try it before the next the next BombCast. Yeah,

I haven't been able to play a lot now because

of fire and boom, which we'll talk about here in

a second.

Speaker 3: But yeah, okay, it looks cool, So I wonder if

this is on switch too. Next up is from Lex

lud says another Normal Day, the Normal Day Factory. Yeah,

it was just kind of wild, man.

Speaker 1: We just keep pumping them out right, just normal day

after normal day, God like right after I.

Speaker 3: Mean the Amazon thing happened, Like, oh that's crazy in

this wells fade is on switch to there you go,

neat uh. Next up is from Missouri mass is thinking

Jeff Mike for the content. The roach of video is epic. Yeah,

Dan did great work with the roachri video.

Speaker 2: It was a lot of fun.

Speaker 1: I enjoyed it, not just like great work, like handling

all of the footage we gave him, which was maybe

maybe the most we've at least as far as I've

been involved in one of these, the most footage we've

ever handed over to an editor.

Speaker 2: And so he had to go through a lot and

he didn't.

Speaker 3: Right, because we have like me and you each had

an ozma. Then he had his own like iPhone footage.

So yeah, it's a ton. It was a ton, but

it was really funny. Zombie Hoorn says, Mike calmed down,

why are you so angry?

Speaker 2: Just the way I am? Baby?

Speaker 1: It was as soon as I said it in my

Oh wait, he didn't actually sound that angry.

Speaker 6: Now I have no choice now but to be like, well, Mike,

you sound very angry. Now, you know they had the

real insecurities. I don't want to if you're angry. I

don't want my friend to take I'm mad. I like him, know,

That's that's why.

Speaker 2: I got that.

Speaker 3: Now, look at that moment, it was a cop kip pus.

There's a lot going on. We kind of figure out

just like, wait, what's going on? I'm just like, we're

just gonna do this.

Speaker 2: All right, everybody, you're pretty down. We got this. Don't

worry about it. Don't worry about it, all right.

Speaker 3: Next up here is from chronal rig Hey Dogs, Those

fire Boom previews have been super positive, having even more

excited and rumor has it dust Blood previews next next week. Yeah,

you've you've actually uh you've been playing fire Armbum. You

could talk about it in a preview capacity right now.

Speaker 2: I can. Yeah, so, uh, I've been playing a lot

of it.

Speaker 1: I could talk up to a certain point, which is

fine because I'm not going to get into any specifics really,

I will just kind of talk broadly about the structure

of the game.

Speaker 2: Uh.

Speaker 1: If you've been reading a previews that it's really big

and ambitious, yeah, it really is. I'll leave with like

my concerns. It's been really easy so far. I played

on normal usually that gets pretty challenging for me in

the fire MBLEE game still, but it has not been

so far, and I hope that changes in the second

half of the game. I might I would maybe even

recommend someone who is coming to this who's played a

lot of fire games to play on the harder difficulty.

You might get a lot more out of the tactics

so that way. But the loop is impressive where you

get a certain number of days between these matches in

the tournament arc that you are in, and you can

use those days to do various explorations on the world map.

These take you to these different nodes, and in the

nodes you will find things like Okay, you're just going

to press a button to search this node, for resources

that'll use a day, and then you can find this

other one that's a cave, and then you go in

the cave. It has maybe slightly more traditional j RPG

or RPG combat system where four of your characters are

lined up in a row and you can choose which

one you want to do an attack. Now, your HP

and the enemy group's HP is a bucket and you

just need to do enough damage to take.

Speaker 2: Out that hole that bucket of HP.

Speaker 1: But still it feels very it feels very different from

fire Emblem at the very least. And then it gives

you the opportunity to like put in a character who

is under leveled, let them get the last hit, they

get MVP and they get a bonus thing.

Speaker 2: So it's like, Okay, I have.

Speaker 1: I could see what my next match is going to

be because I have this foresight option in the menu

and I know what it like, and I have these

other characters kind of explain to me who I'm going

to be facing in the next round, so I know

I want this kind of character, and that would be

really good if I can get that character up up

to up to level and maybe even get them a

new class because that would be really handy for this fight.

Speaker 2: So you begin thinking, Okay, that's what I need.

Speaker 1: Now, how can I go out into the world under

the world map and then explore the city and use

the various facilities to build up the relationships and then

build up the characters a level enough that they are

ready to go for this. And it's it's like, I

really do like get into a I've gotten to a

point where I really enjoy trying to use all those days,

which is a resource essentially to get as much done

as possible. And I was surprised because at first I

was like, man, this is it's overwhelming and I just

want to do the firearmblom tactic stuff. And they still

have that enough that it's like, oh, this just feels

like a good back and forth. All right, I'm building

up towards the big fight, and then if I want

to go do these smaller fights, I can go find

them on the world map. And then in between that

I can be doing all these other things and accomplishing

side quests and doing paralogs with some of these other characters,

and at the same time, at any point you can

save the progress you have with one of the four

main characters that we've seen beyond your player character, which

is mostly so far from me, has only happened in

the prologue. You can save your progress, go talk to

this bird character which is actually your player character, and

zo zoom over to one of these other characters and

start thirst and play them in parallel and see how

they intertwine.

Speaker 2: The one sort.

Speaker 1: Of drawback so far for me on that side of things,

at least early on, is that the writing of the

characters and their interaction actions are are kind of missing

for me for at least so far.

Speaker 2: Where.

Speaker 1: I just feel like it's a lot of non secuity

conversations of this character just goes through the current anime

trope that they're experiencing, and the next character goes yeah,

and I'm I'm this character, so I say this now,

and it just doesn't all feel like it builds on

one another. So that side of things of like, oh,

I get to explore this story from multiple angles, I'm

not I'm not sure how much I'm going to care

about that, because the story is not working super well

for me, at least the writing of it.

Speaker 2: The characters themselves though.

Speaker 1: Look awesome, they are very cool, they're well voiced, so

that that's if you can get attached to the characters,

maybe that will work better for you. But again, I'm like,

this is like seven hours in and by all accounts,

based on what like Nintendo was telling me and kind

of looking at the game, it's massive, so things could

change by the time.

Speaker 2: I'm actually right, So how many cash signs are in it?

Don't do that. I was about to man, you just

said go back.

Speaker 1: Yeah, it's I mean, I will say I can't stop

playing it like this is not like oh and I

have to play it. I have to play it, sure

for work, but I also am looking forward to you,

like playing.

Speaker 2: It in every free hour. I got a couple I had.

Speaker 1: Like an hour and a half today when I wasn't

on the dump truck and I took care of some

like socials and stuff, and then I picked up the

switch and was just playing that in the middle of

the day and was really having a good time. So

if you're looking forward to this game, I think you

can you can continue to look forward to it for sure.

Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm definitely excited and I'm interested. I mean, I

have like definitely a few concerns and like you sort

of brought them up like again, like somebody who thought

the writing in Fates was incredibly shallow. I'm worried about

that again to the character still one dimensionally to do there?

Or this is the tea lady who likes tea.

Speaker 1: It's it's not that kind of one dimensional, but it

is like, no, it's more complex, you know. It's it's

almost like the one main character I have. Her whole

story is revenge, and I'm just like, okay, give me

something else to work with here. It is just revenge.

Speaker 3: But that you know, I've had that grape about a

few things recently where it's like the guys get, I get, Yeah, I.

Speaker 1: Would promise, yes, I would actually point people. If people

are sick of that, I would point them to other

characters I'm playing.

Speaker 2: She was the one I was the most attracted to physically. Yeah,

my kind of damn it.

Speaker 4: Yeah, Plum and chays. Okay, but how big are the

m ttis.

Speaker 2: There's so many, like, it's more than ever.

Speaker 5: You can't complain though.

Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's it's it's wild. I do. I think

the character the designs are actually fantastic.

Speaker 3: You brought up the difficult thing and like that is

something I almost struggle a little bit, like because I

did three hours or twice. The first time I did

normal was like it was good, it was easy. Then

I did hard for my second play through and I

knew more. It was like that was really satisfying to me.

So when I started Fates, I just started a hard

and it was kind of more satisfying until it suddenly

wasn't it Just like yeah, So like part of me

is like I think, like, I bet doing hard would

probably be better, but I'm just terrified of getting to

that one battle that I just kind of findise.

Speaker 2: I think.

Speaker 1: So I definitely was at in a situation where it's

like this is way way too easy, and then I

as soon as I said that to someone, I got

into a tough fight where I'm like, oh, character just died.

Speaker 2: I might have to redo this whole fight and rethink everything.

Speaker 1: So that's on normal, I'm sure that that wall would

hit and hurt a lot more on the harder difficulty.

Speaker 3: I think the big thing is like because the sounds

like there's a lot of stuff and it's like, boy,

this this really makes this all really rich and deep

and robust, or does it kind of make it bloated,

and that's kind of the cuss of it.

Speaker 1: I think they're, you know, again preview capacity. Based on

what I played so far, I think they're walking that

line pretty well. And I'm someone who would be pretty

sensitive to that. Where in Engage.

Speaker 2: I was so just I don't know, it.

Speaker 3: Was like making all those rings because I didn't just

straight boring to go back to that town and here

it's here, it's it's much better.

Speaker 2: I think they have several quality of life.

Speaker 1: Things where you know, anytime I'm in the world or

anytime in the city map, just press start, go to

the navigate button and say it'll take you to the

world map, and then you can start exploring that. And

part of that part of exploring that world map is like, oh,

can I find one of these carriage routes so I

can make a fast travel easier, so I can actually

do even more on these fifteen turns that I have left,

which is not a lot, and that feels really good.

And then it's you know, I should point out at

any time I could just say screw this and go say, hey,

I want to start the next main mission right now,

use those turns to do just some basic training and

then that'll turn into a little bit of XP or

maybe they could search for stuff and get me some

resources or whatever and I can get back to plane

fire emblems. So I'm in full control of that, and

so far I have not made that decision to do that,

and it's part of that. It's just because I want

to try to recruit as many characters as possible and

maximize that stuff, and that has been fun, so you know,

I think it's I think it's nailing that side of things, all.

Speaker 3: Right, Uh, thank you for the little wheel. Here's a

firearm them preview in the middle of the superhchat section. Everybody,

I never know you're gonna get g nitresses, Mike, don't

forget to enjoy a shot of them. Alert Chicaga. That's

that gross thing Jan had me drink, right, Yeah, but it.

Speaker 1: Was I think we both. I thought you came around

to it as well because I felt the same way.

And then I'm like, oh no, I don't know if

I can't. It might have been me and Chuck that

came around to I've been a.

Speaker 2: Second shot just to show Jan that I love him,

But I don't thinktually like this. Yeah, that's what it was. Yeah,

I was.

Speaker 1: I don't know something about it, like black liquorice or whatever.

It felt good.

Speaker 2: I mean, I like it a nice thing, don't don't

get me wrong, but it was. It was intense, it

was very strong. I will, yes, will not disagree with that.

Let's see.

Speaker 3: Super Plastics says, thank you, heart, have a great night.

You have a great night too, super Blastics.

Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you too.

Speaker 3: Hey there it's me, Luke says, hitting us and yes

hard lately and I feel like Techmo super Bowl is

still the funnest football game. What's your It never got

better than this game?

Speaker 2: In uh genre? It is like Wave Racing Tenadians, all

those ones like y it's.

Speaker 3: At racing guy, Like, I don't think there actually actually

been like a better like car racing game than Ridge

Racer Type four on the PlayStation, Like even like the Burnout,

the stuff that I like a lot and like that

has its own flavor for sure, but just like racing cars, boy,

give me that.

Speaker 2: Red Racer stuff every single time. In some ways, even

Super Mario sixty four where it's like.

Speaker 1: Oh this move set with these physics, it never quite

got better than that. They kind of match up so perfectly,

Like the move set's been maybe a little bit better

here there, and the physics have maybe been a little

bit better here and there, and then obviously the structure

of the world has been better, and the camera's been better.

But just the way the character moves and the expressiveness

that you have, I don't know it.

Speaker 2: Could that just match so well in that game?

Speaker 3: I feel prey commencing we have never gotten a better

basketball game than NBA Street Volt two, right, that's correct, Yes,

And that came out all ago, it came out. Never

been any better than that, absolutely not. House of Herman

says Pour went out for Pokemont Bank. When that ends,

and a twenty four year long link of continuity going

back to GBA, the very end of the end of

a very unique area. I guess I forgot the aspect

of it, like that this is an important link in

the chain. So gosh, yeah, just I say, like, I bet,

I BET's frustrating, and I get why, like it is

important people to keep their POKEM up to date and transfer.

I'm glad it doesn't bother me, right, I'm glad, like yeah,

because it sounds like a headache and it sounds like

potential heartbreak this, So I'm glad. I always just start

every game just got zero. I'm gonna build it up

again as much as I care to.

Speaker 2: Yeah, like, what are.

Speaker 1: People supposed to do? Do you have any idea? Like,

you know they is it Pokemon Home now?

Speaker 2: And then like.

Speaker 3: Pokemon Home like works for like stuff that's on switch,

but Bank is for the three DS games, right, so

you would need it for those. So I assume when

this happens like a Pokemon and Pokemon X and Y,

you can't take it to bank and then somehow make

Bank talk to them. I don't know how it works, right, right,

I assume the issue is that those Pokemon are going

to be stuck.

Speaker 2: On there forever now yep? Okay.

Speaker 3: Next one is from the one True Brett Bobbas's plot

twist Matt Stella one yea, yeah, I think so. I

think I think so as well. I hope Selah is

going to be uh just so it's scary to kind

of come out with this stuff, right and put yourself

out there and even you know, have a CEO of

one who sucks just talk about you like this in

this weird way, right, It's it's bizarre. I got there,

I feel very anxious.

Speaker 1: Yes, and got there and act like maybe this is

against the confidentiality agreement, which I when I doubt it

actually is that it like protects the game and the

details of the game, not necessarily a state of her employment.

Speaker 2: Like, yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 3: Uh, Crypto Cody says, I want to be clear, Crypto

like dog, everybody says these CEOs have AI psychosis.

Speaker 5: It might be.

Speaker 4: Yeah, they might be really because they only interact with

that sh so of course they are crazy.

Speaker 3: Large Mario says Jeff Grubb, please re up your just

Dance sub all right, yep.

Speaker 1: I'll get to work on that shit. Good good point,

Thank you. Large Mario, as always that.

Speaker 3: I must says Yeah, fire Moment previews today, I all

agree that the game is freaking messive and ambitious. Rap

or September, Well, at least there's nothing else to play

this September.

Speaker 1: Yeah, I like, I'm gonna like, I'm trying to think,

like I will probably spend a little bit of time

in one of the other campaigns. I know there's gonna

be a lot of reviews for people who are like,

I'm gonna play all these campaigns and godspeed to you.

Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, in no way.

Speaker 3: Baji Kazui says, this big man a better raider than

Henry Indiana Jones Junior. Look, I've never been a big

deep cut fan, and I've gotten to like them a

little bit because of raiders. Still not like I don't

love a big hand Still I don't know.

Speaker 1: I don't love big man. I love big man speak

because you're a big man. Yeah, he's a big dumb

sting right, just like me.

Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, you get it, You get it.

Speaker 3: Next up is d Nitro grub z Android for Android

three sixty emulation looks really impressive. Oh if you have

a handheld that can play it like the odin three?

Speaker 2: Have you seen it? Uh? I have a thor which

should probably be like right there. It's not.

Speaker 1: Maybe it's not quite as powerful as the Odin three,

but it's pretty close. Yeah, I should give that a shot.

I'm curious to see what that looks like.

Speaker 3: And two four one says I recently became an I

racing sicco Have either of you ever DiPT But what

I can't say?

Speaker 2: I have to be on it. I keep considering it.

Speaker 1: I just I don't have a lot of time to

it like that's a subscription sem racer and I couldn't

justify that probably right now, because I wouldn't use it enough.

Speaker 2: So what I think I'm gonna do?

Speaker 1: I and I have been thinking about this a lot

because I've been watching a lot of F one still

and I follow a lot of SEM racing like influencers

on social media. A seta corso is apparently one that

a lot of the real racers do, and they install

a bunch of mods to make it more even more

of a sem racer, and I think I will do

some of that first and see how I feel about it.

Speaker 3: Zombie Porn says, I thought you all had for net,

not mylort door Lord, that's right?

Speaker 2: Maybe, yeah, that's right.

Speaker 5: The way you think it stream was so upsetting to

me that shoot.

Speaker 2: Yeah, I know when I look now.

Speaker 3: Now Jan to present to us as this is the

thing bartenders do at the end of the night, which

I believe.

Speaker 2: I bet the bartender is a different thing.

Speaker 3: Do it straight, but yes, I bet most people who

like enjoy it don't do it like that and mix

it with water.

Speaker 2: Whatever it was.

Speaker 1: I mean, Zermo was immediately like he scolded us, so

don't worry, I got it earful.

Speaker 2: Yeah, is a Chicago thing. All right, I'll look out

for some alort.

Speaker 4: For me. Brother.

Speaker 5: That's that's a good thing.

Speaker 4: That seems like a pretty iris should Some people do

like fifteen percent. I like a little of a strong

So that's fine.

Speaker 3: Uh Cherosio cherzy Chiosio says, what's why I get a

venture racing?

Speaker 2: Yeah?

Speaker 3: Adventure racing. That was the best beatle racing game ever.

Oh yeah, man with a bullet, am I right? Pluthin

said Shook that an executive embracer is unprofessional.

Speaker 1: I know, right, And this is the guy like earlier

this week was like yeah, I was fucking with Randy

Pitchford and so oh this guy's had an aggressive week.

Speaker 2: Yeah, you too deserve each other.

Speaker 3: Digital Bobby Doublas has been playing retro soccer games after

the World Cup. Diant Bombs Soccer week win winning eleven

to nine rules use for me to play Mega Man Soccer,

which that's real.

Speaker 2: I mean I'll take an excuse to play winning eleven.

Speaker 4: Man Provolution five with the Tyrian re on the on

the coln.

Speaker 5: Yeah, this goddamn legend.

Speaker 1: International Superstar Soccer sixty four is the first time I

played one in that lineage, and me and my brother

played so much that game.

Speaker 2: It was so so good.

Speaker 3: And then last Geek says, my girlfriend didn't want to

go to fan expecial I go, but then I told

her Mike was going, and she was like, let's go

up to see you and get you to sign our

Chicago postcard.

Speaker 2: Yes, will you be there Saturday? Yeah?

Speaker 3: Yeah, Saturday is like though basically the only day I'm

going to be there. I'll be there pretty much all

day Saturday, except for when that Lord of the Rings

like Hannel happens with the Hobbits, so I'll be watching that. Yeah,

I'll be walking around the show for you. See me

come up and say hi. Please goes for all of you.

Speaker 2: If anyone else happens to be there, excellent.

Speaker 1: You should tell Patrick Glay you're going to be there

and he can bring you them alert just come. Yeah,

he'll deliver it, hand deliver it all right. Excellent, Mike,

thank you. If we get any more super chats, we'll

read them before the end of the program. We're going

to take another break. When we come back. It's a

Mount Rushmore. We're gonna do the Mount Rushmore of first

person puzzle solving games, solve them ups, whatever you want

to call them. Right after this, all right, Mike Yess

people who are watching the video version can see it says,

right there, Mount rushmore of first person puzzle games. You

brought this up earlier today. I want you explain what

you're thinking here.

Speaker 3: You know, if you're playing a Big Walk recently, Yeah,

we have man love that game.

Speaker 2: Yeah, twenty twenty six Games of the Year, Big Walk.

I'll say it. I'll say it now.

Speaker 3: I'll tell you what might be that good I winging

like that game a lot, so having a really good

time with that, and you know there's like that missed

element to it, and missed at least I can think

it's like this kind of first of like first person

puzzle games and in the sense you can kind of

move around and stuff, and there's been a lot like those,

and it's kind of like a separate genre puzzle game

to me that I am really into. I think both

of us have some favorite games that would fall under

this definitely category. So I think it'd be fun to

pick out a mount to resh Moore. Then we'll get

some open to the community as well. Yes'd be a

good time.

Speaker 1: Yeah, let me throw one real quick just to kind

of make sure that this is on the right side

of the line here. I think it is, but I

just want to double check. Portal and Portal two.

Speaker 2: Absolutely, I think absolutely.

Speaker 3: I mean there's sort of where that than they are

shooter games anything else, Yeah, exactly, Yeah, okay, great, all right, well.

Speaker 2: Then how about Portal and Portal two? Right?

Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, boy, they're so good. Gosh, I guess

like which one. I mean, like Porter was first, and

it was just like at that point they got by

so much to just look at this one thing we

can do and how cool it is. We're gonna just

explore that idea a lot. And it was already it

was already awesome, but then kind of just the aesthetic

and the writing of it was still freaking good and funny.

It's just such this awesome experience that they almost kind

of like snuck into our homes by putting it with

episode two into Yeah. Right, the Orange box Man was

just that was an amazing thing, man, But then like

Portal two is just kind of like that, but like

it's bigger, it's better, just like the thing we just

talked about, and uh, and it is that amazing.

Speaker 2: Co op mode was just freaking cool.

Speaker 4: Man.

Speaker 2: It's like, God, they're just so freaking good.

Speaker 3: So if it was like the best games, I think

we say Portal two, but in amount rush more sense

there is like to think about the firstness of Portal one.

I think I think it's probably Portal one. They can

put them both there for now.

Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, well then I'll let you have the

floor first second, what else are you thinking about that?

Speaker 3: Yeah?

Speaker 2: I think Missed.

Speaker 3: I think Miss maybe probably the George Washington and of

some prequels, like like Riven the sequel to Miss Uh

in Miss three, it's you know, it's kind of protype

this because at first it was like, well, it's kind

of a pictures that slideses, you click.

Speaker 2: Where you go next. It's all first person.

Speaker 3: Then eventually you do have real Miss and you even

have the remake, and it is just fully first person

go anywhere that you want to. And I think, like

I clearly set up this idea of it's fun to

just kind of be on a weird island.

Speaker 2: I have to solve puzzles there, which is some.

Speaker 1: Yes and and that that that's almost like one of

the aspects of this genre now where it's like, yeah,

someone set up puzzles for you on an island. It's

not every game, but it's a lot of the games

in this genre for sure. And it's because Miss just

it's that that that vibe, that that feel of being alone,

like getting in the getting your brain into that mode

where it's looking for all of the clues, recognizing that

everything here was set up with a purpose because it

is self contained.

Speaker 2: Yeah, I think miss just nailed that right out of

the gate. All right, Yeah, so.

Speaker 1: I I would. I'm gonna throw on here for now.

The Witness, that's the definitely one that I I. I

love The Witness. It's one of those ones where I

played that before I ever played Missed. And you know,

obviously I see now kind of it's trying to do

its own take on that idea.

Speaker 2: It's an island, it's puzzles.

Speaker 1: It is also like, here's fifty thousand variations on this

one idea of these connected dot puzzles, and that got

so like so deep that I couldn't help but be

impressed by that. It has like maybe two of my

favorite puzzle solving moments ever a game. One is the

like that challenge where the music plays and you have

to solve the puzzles that are procedurally generated in a

certain amount of time, and it was very, very difficult,

and when I was able to do that, it was

one of those yatah move moments. And then the boat

puzzle with the sound that I've talked about before, where

I was I was playing the game pretty early, and

it was and this was like a bonus puzzle not

a lot of people had played just so far, and

I really felt like, oh, I might I might be

like one of the first people who actually figured this

one out. And it was especially confusing, and I talked

to a lot of other people that are like just

gave up on it, and I felt so accomplished, and

the game put me in that mode of like I

want to just keep pushing and pushing, pushing, and see.

Speaker 2: If I could figure this stuff out.

Speaker 1: So the witness is up there is like one of

my favorites, but I'm still not sure if it's necessarily

Mount rushmore worthy yet, but we'll.

Speaker 3: See, yeah very much again. Like here's a weird eye.

I want to putch a puzzles genre of this thing.

They all go to Blueprints now, which gosh, like, even

though it's a year old now, and I'm like, it's

already a contender for Mount Rushmore stuff for me. Gosh,

I just freaking love that game. I think it's incredible

that they were able to ROGUELI like that, right. We've

been saying roguelike various all sorts of things, but the

idea that you could take first person puzzle game with

like the missed sensibilities and things like that and find

this awesome way to make it a roguelike or there

is like this stuff about a run, but there's also

all this persistent stuff going on. There is this story

in the background that is really interesting and intriguing. You're

wondering what's going on. You know, you have that great

off ramp with the get reaching that first goal, and

then you do have all this extra stuff you can

dig into if you are so inclined.

Speaker 1: And it's like the roguelike stuff of oh you need

to learn the way things work meshed so well with

the puzzles where it's like, oh, you can like learn

the way these things behave and apply that on your

next run and it helps you solve these like larger

meta puzzles, just like getting out in the garden and

realizing how some of those like gears work and stuff

like that, or finding some shortcuts. Very very cool game.

Uh excuse me, Outer Wilds. That is definitely one that

I look back now and like, oh that was another

one that's it's just this different, different variation on mist

and that one I kind of feel like it does

more than just about any other one in the genre

to expand on what these games can be in terms

of like what you should be thinking about, and like

the scale.

Speaker 3: Of the puzzles the most awesome one, right, Like that's inspiring, yes, yeah, yeah,

and like just like happy to deal with like moving

around in three D space and gravity and stuff like that,

and that like being part of just exploring matched.

Speaker 2: Up with puzzle solving.

Speaker 1: It just has so much going on, and yeah, definitely

a very special first experience anytime anyone plays through that game.

Speaker 3: Oh yeah, just absolutely incredible because I mean so many

things about it are fun, just kind of exploring it

at first you're like on this one planet ace, when

you realize like, oh, this is just a source built

these planets. God, maybe the best gravity in a video

game after the Mario Galaxy games or maybe better than that,

even I don't know, man, that part.

Speaker 2: Is so aspect.

Speaker 3: So yeah, the best exploration in one of these and

like just the way like it seems like you don't

have that many tools and you realize things that didn't

seem that useful, like your little like kind of drone camera,

like it has way more uses than you think it does,

and it helps you solve all of these puzzles in

this really satisfying way. Gosh, there's even kind of multiple

paths to do things, like the hard way to land

on that one thing that's going around the sun, and

there's kind of a way you can sort of figure

out that's simple way to get there. It's that really deep, interesting,

fascinating game.

Speaker 2: That one is. Yep, all right, I think for.

Speaker 3: My next one here and I will say, I think

we've gotten blat of the big was always asking is

actually have not played this one much?

Speaker 2: Have you played the Tallis principle?

Speaker 3: No?

Speaker 1: This is the one where I'm like, I think, I yea,

I regret, I'm mightna do it soon. Maybe we can,

like at some point in the future when we get

downe with all the miss games and stuff, like that

we could try out a couple of these other ones

stuff like that.

Speaker 5: It's really good.

Speaker 2: How was principle that way?

Speaker 1: I know people love it and I regret not playing it.

Speaker 4: Definitely, kind I kind of scratch that itch of the

like like the winners all that stuff, you know, and

not having those games when another winners, sorry, the portal games,

because it's kind of like it's a different type of puzzle,

you know, when you have puzzles where like are more

like environmental puzzles and then like actually like you have

this drawing that you had to I don't know, solve

maze on it. The winness is kind of like that,

and portal is another like the other type of of puzzles.

So the twents principle is more like a portal without

the portals when you have the cubes and you have

to readirect all the lights and that kind of stuff.

It's really it's a it's a fun time. So I

would put it on the shortlist, and even though if

you didn't play, just just to have it.

Speaker 3: My shop and in the community stuff there as well,

that it's probably worth thinking about there.

Speaker 2: I just have to all mentioned real quick.

Speaker 1: Then let's see here Return of the ober Den that is,

oh yeah, really really blows me away just every time

I would, you know, It's one of the things I

like about some of these games where they give you

it's logic puzzles.

Speaker 2: You have to play in your head a little bit.

Speaker 1: You got to be thinking about multiple factors, and when

the pieces fit together and you solve something, it could

be so so rewarding, it could just feel so so good.

And then Anti Chamber, which is one that I would

really like you to play at some point, Mike. This

is a non Euclidian like psychological puzzle game where you

go into these spaces and you have to sort of

you can't think about them as normal Newtonian physical spaces.

Speaker 2: You got to like move.

Speaker 1: Around and look at things from different angles to get

things to fit together, and take objects and move them around,

and it's, uh, it uses the fact that it's a

video game in a really clever way.

Speaker 2: It's it's a really special game. I played it as

soon as it came out.

Speaker 1: I don't even know where I heard about it from,

but later as soon as it came out, and it's

definitely one that still sticks with me as as an

important one to be marked on this list.

Speaker 2: Along that line, did you play much a Youfinder? Which

that was? You know?

Speaker 3: What I played of it was really neat, which I

would like to maybe do some more. That's the one

where like you would take like the Pullary pictures and

like you can turn those into like the three D

elements in the world as well, a super cool idea.

Speaker 2: Yes, I didn't play a ton, but I played quite

a bit. You know.

Speaker 1: It didn't have maybe have the spark for it for me,

but I know if people do like it.

Speaker 2: I got that.

Speaker 3: I went to Anty Chambers steam page and has a

quote here from Venture Beat. I wonder who wrote this one?

Going to write a review for it? Oh well, top

five indie games of twenty twelve.

Speaker 2: Of course.

Speaker 3: The link that's a dead link right now. Maybe it's

gonna work in a moment here, Yeah, I think it's

gonna work. What was that one you likes where like

you time traveled back to Rome and there's a like

a golden rule.

Speaker 2: Oh yeah, man? The Loss? Is it the Lost City?

I think it's called the Lost City? You got to

play the Loss, I think of it.

Speaker 3: I played a bit of it or something, and I

did enjoy it. I didn't quite finish it. But another

one like the the City that's it, the Forgotten City. Yeah, yeah,

I did place, I didn't play something.

Speaker 2: It was really neat. I would like to go do

some more. For sure.

Speaker 3: It's cool because it's like it's clearly built on the

sky Rim engine, but it's like, you know, it's just

kind of all dialogue and puzzles and kind of bringing

stuff out, and it's clearly multiple pass and it's this

big mystery.

Speaker 2: Yeah it's neat. Yep. Absolutely, you guys are missing the list.

I see it. I'm fixing it. Now give me a seconds.

All right, there we go.

Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, Forgotten City was It's just, uh, that's such

a cool game. It's got a really cool premise of

like there's Andy made like a god that you you

need to like do the like, oh there's something gone

wrong here and you need to figure it out. And

you begin investigating stuff and there's all these cool puzzles

and eventually get a bow and arrow, but it's not

like you're attacking people with it. That's just to solve

new puzzles. Man, what a cool, cool game. All right,

should we see if there's anything else we forgot from

the community.

Speaker 2: Yeah, let's take a look.

Speaker 3: There's a couple where I can think of that probably

wouldn't make it, but let's see what they had to say.

Speaker 1: Doctor Lynch heard says the Witness like a Dylan mentions

Portal too. Jim Jim says Portal Okay, Yes, Jimmy says,

hey does like playing Tetris effecting VR count.

Speaker 2: Uh and that's not exactly what we're.

Speaker 3: Not really I mean, I geah, it's cute to consider

that bad.

Speaker 2: It's not really worth talking about here, they said.

Speaker 1: In that case, still go with Outer Wild's Vegeta's eight

nine seven said super Land.

Speaker 2: I did play a little bit of this. It's a

weird game. Super Land. Huh No, I don't. I never

even heard of super Land, okay.

Speaker 1: Terry Aki Blue says return of the over Den. Matt

says missed Villain, Max says the Witness. Uh yeah, here's

James Pie saying the Forgotten City absolutely. Joyce says Outer

Wild's Echoes of the Eye, which I still have not played.

Speaker 3: Yeah, me too, Maybe we could play it together sometime

that Yeah, that'd be fun. Fire Hair says that this

is Riven right, that's from Riven that's from the Riven remake.

Early on, when there's like that one that was like

one of the more not just things early on in

the games, there's one little kind of thing you have

to click that does not look important.

Speaker 1: In you, and it's like there's like stuff all over

the screen that does look important.

Speaker 2: So it was just such a distraction.

Speaker 1: Uh, let's hear Infinity says the luck solving mini game

from like Oblivion.

Speaker 2: Or Skyrin, And I think I think that's obliviing as well. Yeah.

Speaker 1: Uh, Vaginnity says, oh yeah, the Stanley Parable is thealy

one I wanted to give a shout out to.

Speaker 2: I love the Stanley Purple.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 2: I guess part was like a puzzle game.

Speaker 3: Is that just kind of like around find or find

out sort of thing?

Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I was going the Oval game. Yeah,

a lot of stuff.

Speaker 1: Uh, Soul scream says the Witness. Oh input name her

says Crimson Room flash game from two thousand and four.

I've never played this.

Speaker 3: Wow?

Speaker 2: Wait?

Speaker 3: Uh is this the one I played where you get

invited to somebody's apartment. It's really comfortable. I think that

might be a different one. I'm not sure.

Speaker 2: I think that's a different. I think that's a different

that's as litely different I'm thinking about. Yeah.

Speaker 1: Uh man, I want to download that flash game player

that has all the flash Okay, try stuff like this.

Uh Screaming Madden says, blueprints always be Clothing says Viewfinder.

Speaker 2: Rocks Feather says Big Walk, Boy Salad.

Speaker 3: I think my my ad at the start of our

new episode of Big Walk got us one more sale

of the boy Salad shirt. Let's go seventeen. I think

now we did it start on.

Speaker 1: Uh Ninten. Derek says Viewfinder. Oh, I definitely want.

Speaker 2: To go play Viewfinder now. Yeah.

Speaker 1: Vasco's shot says what remains of Edith Finch? Which I

can't remember how many? It's not a ton of puzzle puzzle,

probably a.

Speaker 2: Bit more in the walking simulat situation.

Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, but I guess there's like some platforming puzzles

sort of stuff where it's like you got to figure

out where to go. I always hold it against that

game because they like let a baby drown in a bathtub,

and I'm like, that's just your fault.

Speaker 2: Why did you not watch the baby?

Speaker 1: Big Tony says the Taalos principal Samue Nice says Quantum

Conundrum A.

Speaker 3: Likes this game quite a bit. This is the one

where John Delancy is like the main voice actor, right,

so yeah, this was the person who like was the

writer Portal, Like somebody from Portal made this game.

Speaker 2: It has those fives if you're into that.

Speaker 1: Ezip says Outer wild I think this is Anti Chamber

from from Edgar.

Speaker 2: webOS says it's Outer Wilds.

Speaker 1: But since that's been covered, Uh, this is also just Skyrim.

Speaker 2: That one is Skyrim this time. Yeah, that's actual Skyrim.

Speaker 3: Uh.

Speaker 2: The drum Kid ninety two says, God, which was this

d What is this?

Speaker 3: Laura, Laura, Laura, I'm the reference is a bit beyond me.

Speaker 2: Help us out, chat. I don't know.

Speaker 3: It looks it definitely looks Dreamcast adjacent, doesn't It is

D Wow, there we get.

Speaker 1: I recognize those D graphics for sure. Weisman says Cyberdillo.

It is puzzling for.

Speaker 2: The puzzle lane for sure.

Speaker 1: Dat boy Jerry says this puzzle Dorton dishonor too if

you know, you know, hardest lodge budget puzzle I've ever saw.

Speaker 3: I've got that game on it cell recently. I want

to finally play it, so we'll see. We'll see if

it bothers me.

Speaker 1: Stinky then says Outer Worlds and then oh, Kaboski says

Escape Academy out of Wilds.

Speaker 2: Thank you.

Speaker 1: Uh, Koboski says Escape Academy, which, yeah, that was pretty

cool when we play.

Speaker 2: It's really Yeah, I enjoyed it.

Speaker 3: I think like I think like there's kind of their stuff,

Like we have characters who talk a lot. It's a

bit of a detriment to that game sometimes like that

they're bad characters, especially when you're doing multiplayer, like a

big walk right, it's just so easy. We're going from

one pole, the next thing, to this thing to that thing,

and that the game doesn't get in the way. And

maybe something Escape Academy, which is very good. I would

recommend it. I think it does get in the way sometimes.

Speaker 2: Agreed.

Speaker 1: All Right, So our short list, we can maybe add

anything if we did miss it, but I don't think

so really. Portal Portal two missed the Witness Blueprints, Outer Wilds,

the Tellos Principal return of the oberden Anti Chamber, and

the Forgotten City.

Speaker 2: All right, Mike, what do we do now?

Speaker 3: I think Portal one and missed our locks frankly out

Wilds as a lock as well, Like, I don't, I

don't think I need to.

Speaker 2: Dance around that.

Speaker 3: I think you're right, Yeah, all right, it's freaking good.

It's unique, it's got its own flavor.

Speaker 2: Man. Yep, all right.

Speaker 1: So yeah, then we kind of have one spot left

here for Forgotten City, Anti Chamber, Return of the Oberden, Tallas,

Principal Blueprints, the Witness Portal two, and they're all kind

of like in a similar sort of realm for me.

Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, this is rough. I think I probably go

blue Prints, I'm I would to me, it would be

between Blueprints and the Witness for sure, And I think I, yeah,

I could definitely see myself doing Blueprints.

Speaker 2: I know a lot of people probably won't return to

the over ten. Uh. I like that game.

Speaker 3: I didn't love it personally, I had I had a

little I had a weird little hang up with it

where I think I just wasn't on its page somehow

I never quite gone in and I never did. I

I think so might have been before I was doing

VODs though. Yeah, because it was a game as game

club thing.

Speaker 2: You're doing that that's a tough one to stream. Yeah,

it's tough to stream, but yeah, I don't know, maybe

maybe that was it. So I like it, But if

a unique, I I respected it. I like it's vibes.

I love, love love Return of the Overden.

Speaker 1: But I also feel the same way about Blueprints and

The Witness, so it's not like that puts.

Speaker 2: It above these other ones.

Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess Blueprints is definitely my favorite of these games,

I guess, and I.

Speaker 1: Think I think it also like represents a different take

on this in such a strong way that I kind

of want to reward it for that.

Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean the way this doayes too, where it

is and of like like you're on the island, but

like the puzzles are very much as kind of like

you're starting with this sort of but basically, and it

just kind of builds on that in a premim.

Speaker 2: It builds and.

Speaker 1: Branches and does all kinds of amazing. Yes, it's very

well designed.

Speaker 2: Mm hmmm hmm. You know, I think we can I honestly,

I think we can get away with either one.

Speaker 1: I think we're going to get a similar amount of

flak for both, so or for either, so I think

we can go with the one. We want to go with,

which I think is probably Blueprints.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 3: I like that game a lot, man, I just it's

I think about it still constantly, almost kind of want

to get back to it. Even I thought that game

was super freaking neat.

Speaker 2: All.

Speaker 1: Right, so Mount Rushmore, a first person puzzle games portal,

missed Outer Wild's blue Prints. I think that's I think

that's right. I think we did a good job here, Mike,

well done. I will get this posted up on Blue

Sky so everyone can yell at us. Yeah, And I

think what we should do now is probably take another break.

We'll come back and talk about what we've been playing

right after this. That's good to me, all right, Mike,

that was a lot of good work so far. So

right now, what I want to do is hear about

what you've been playing.

Speaker 3: I mean, everyone's been watching us play the Big Walk.

We're just kind of talking up. But I have been

just really enjoying that game. I think that it is

so freaking neat. If you like can get together any

kind of a crew and go through that with them,

I think you're going to have such a fun time.

And the puzzles are just really neat and impressive. They

have all been fun and interesting and like taking it

sinceime I figure out, none of them have ever.

Speaker 2: Been frustrating or a stone wall lest it's I.

Speaker 3: Guess the closest thing are these cord they so called coordinates,

but you have.

Speaker 2: To figured out. But it's kind of like, all right,

we'll move.

Speaker 1: On, we'll figure it out. We'll figure it out eventually,

Like we're good. It's going to occur to us eventually.

Speaker 3: And some of these things are like really exciting, Like

but there's this train still. I'm like, at some point

we're going to lock this train. I guess that's going

to be exciting. That's going to be great. There's a

moment when we unlocked a chair lift and we he

were just on the chef.

Speaker 2: Is that going up?

Speaker 3: I'm like, this is great, this is this is amazing.

Look at all this shit because that was almost like

leaving the plateau and bref of the Wiley. Look how

big this all is. That there's a word of shit

we haven't been to yet.

Speaker 1: Yeah, So yeah, I think for me, a big part

of it is it just always catches you, right, It

always like, uh, if you.

Speaker 2: Are with the crew and you are all working on

a puzzle, together. Great.

Speaker 1: If you begin to wander off, uh, you're probably going

to find something that makes you go stop and go oh,

I got to bring this back to the crew. And

or you discovered something about the world that that you like,

you want to keep poking at. And uh, I think

that that happened today where you know, you saw those

blocks on the map and I jumped off the ski

lift to go see what it was, and I discovered

a little puzzle there where it's just oh, it's just

a small little platform in puzzle. If I had one

other person here, i'd be able to do that. But

everyone else left. But Jan got lost from you guys,

and I found him. I found Jan, and I was like, great,

that's what you. Screw yes, screw him, screw them.

Speaker 2: Come with me. I need your help.

Speaker 1: And we went back up to those blocks and I

got up there and that's where I found the megaphone.

And it's like, now we have the megaphone, or at

least we know where it is, and that will be

useful at some point. At first, it was just dumb

and we were having fun, and it hit us right

at that moment of the stream where we were ready

to goof off we had accomplished a lot, We had

done all kinds of like you guys were in the

middle of a puzzle. You guys weren't ready to goof

off yet, but very quickly you were so funny, very

audio focused puzzle. Yes exactly, but like as soon then,

as soon as that was done, it's like, Okay, we're

about to wrap up here. Pretty soon we could do

some goofy stuff and then we're like, yeah, let's work.

The game is going to enable you to do that now,

and you're not going to feel like that is wasting

your time because the game is this big, open, exploratory, emergent,

emergent thing and it just does it all. It does

it all, and it nails it and it's not like

doing and it's not like doing it at all. I say like, oh,

there's all these features or all these modes. It just

like provides the background for you to be with people

in a way that I'm continually impressed by.

Speaker 2: Yeah, we had a lot of fun with lawn chairs somehow.

Huh yep. Yeah. Just first I was like, can I

sidney thin? Guy? I just kept picking it up.

Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, I have to go run here and

sit in it, and yeah, it was welcome.

Speaker 3: Like when I saw I really did not know much

about this game, and I kind of was, you know,

expecting another fronts off thing, and that's fine.

Speaker 2: I like those.

Speaker 3: I have a lot of fun we played and play

those kind of games, but this is this is definitely

I want to say more like like somehow it's inherently better,

but it's I think maybe the best of these sort

of pros check games. I guess you can call it

that I have have enjoyed so far.

Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean like like I wouldn't be like they

all need to be like this, because Peak has its

place and it's definitely one that I would always I

always had fun with. But it's like, oh, they all

don't have to be that procedurally generated like sort of game.

It can be very designed and still have all of

that fun emerging stuff still happening at the same time.

Speaker 2: And then the puzzles are just so good. They're so good.

Speaker 1: They really play up like what the game is good at,

which is the you know, the audio and communication and

all this stuff.

Speaker 2: And I love that.

Speaker 1: It's like, you know, if you're behind soundproof glass, the

chat thing doesn't work, like no this is consistent logic

for everything.

Speaker 2: You need to work together in different.

Speaker 1: Ways to solve this, and it really encourages people to

try different ideas. And yeah, I really like sitting like

that moment where we're sitting around throwing out ideas for

how to solve a puzzle and eventually we'll try some

stuff and everyone kind of like slowly moves towards the

correct answer together. That's a good feeling as well. And

the game's again really good at that.

Speaker 2: Yep.

Speaker 3: Absolutely, it's probably been like, you know, a big thing.

I think pretty close to beating Owen and Ring. I

got basically just have to fight the last two bosses,

bail that that Dragon and promised consort Dawn, then I'll

be done by boy. Yea, I've been having time that

a little bit more to con fighting souls, which they

have been feeling good and looking really good too.

Speaker 2: These people get Yeah what else?

Speaker 3: Did actually like a Christa Sean and I I think

I was at there a ton dogs played a little

bit of Overwatch to mess around with Demon or Demon

the newest character that to that. Yeah, yeah, it's another

character in a mech kind of like a Diva, but

this one has a shield and a sword.

Speaker 2: It was super fun.

Speaker 3: I know people thought she felt weak, and I think

there's already been a kind of a hot fix to

buffer up a little bit, so they are responding quickly

to that. But yeah, just uh, they've been at least

these characters at a pretty safe pace, and they've all

been kind of interesting and and fun and there's like

a there's a new map that we were on too.

Speaker 2: But just keep having a really good time playing Overwatch

these days. Yeah, I was.

Speaker 1: I was kind of taking care of a few things

watching you guys play before I had to lug off,

and it was h Yeah, that character looks like a

lot of fun and just like always, Overwatch always kind

of nails the new characters for the most part. So

definitely gave me the bug to try out that game again.

Anything else, Mike, and it's it's the big stuff I

want to talk about right now.

Speaker 2: Anyways.

Speaker 4: Uh.

Speaker 1: Yeah, like I said, I was playing a lot of

fire ambum that that's been taking up a lot of

my time, so I've dip my toes into a couple

of things.

Speaker 2: Wild Blue Skies came out today.

Speaker 1: Oh that's the starfucks like yeah, and it's not just

star fucks like, it's from Too High Labs, which is

one of these lineage studios that used to be part

of Argonauts. It's this is people that made Starfox made

this game, so it is. It's it's so funny though,

because it's just like this genre cannot get away from.

Speaker 2: Starfox, like like at all.

Speaker 1: That first level is just you know, it's Cornaria, right,

It's just Cornaria again.

Speaker 2: It's just that I think they're leaning a little too

closely to it.

Speaker 1: I mean, it looks different enough, and like the controls

are modernized in a way that that feels like nice,

where it's like, you know, the boost is on the

right trigger and stuff like that.

Speaker 2: It's fine, No, it's not too It's not too close.

Speaker 1: Maybe maybe a little maybe a little bit for some people,

but I think it still works.

Speaker 2: The game looks really nice. I think it's fun to play.

Speaker 1: You know, maybe it's not great because I just played Starbucks,

but I'm not. I wasn't necessarily feeling that way when

I was in there. So I think for anyone who

likes those games, it's another one that you could definitely

check out.

Speaker 2: And uh I would, I know, I would give.

Speaker 1: These people a chance, just because they do have that

legacy and they kind of deserve to be able to

make that game if they wanted to. And then another

game that just came out Choppa Rescue Rivals, which is

this sort of helicopter you know, platforming puzzler where you

get like you have to navigate these narrow spaces with

this these cartoony helicopters, and you can use the left

bumper or right bumper to sort of control the the

the the yawl of your helicopter, or you can like

spin in a circle whatever, and you have to usually

rescue some people with the ladder on the bottom of

your helicopter. They'll grab onto that and they'll hold on

to the rest of the level, and then that means

you'll need to avoid obstacles like fire so those guys

don't get set on fire things like that. And you

want to go through the stages without taking any damage

or sometimes without using your boost to get these bonus

challenges so you can get the gold little emblem to show.

Speaker 2: That you were a good boy who did the level perfectly.

It's one of these ones.

Speaker 1: It's like got a nice little physics system where you know,

I was realizing, Oh, there's these situations where I want

to like quickly be whipping around this corner to get

that coin in the brief window of time that I

have when the flame is not happening. And one way

I can do that is I can control the tilt

of the helicopter and usually if I have a guy

in the ladder, whip him around and use him to

like pick up that thing while I'm dive bombing downward,

so I can keep my momentum going, stay out of

the way of the obstacle, but still get the pickup.

And it was like piecing those movement that movement tech

together was like, Oh, this is actually pretty neat. It

has a strong look. It looks like like a Dreamcast game.

It's one of another one, the one that has a

Dreamcast vibe to it a little bit, and yeah, just

kind of immediately quite a bit of fun to play.

It does what I what I think I'm gonna start

considering it like just a major sind for indie games.

There's there's too much talking.

Speaker 5: Games.

Speaker 3: They Yeah, I mean I hate they like generalize like that,

I know, but they like they often fall into that

trap where I think and I think it's like, I

don't know what it is. I think it's kind of fun

for them to like they get this chance to like

make these characters in this world, and they're kind they're

proud of it, and I get it, and it's like.

Speaker 2: I just don't care that much. I don't know. Yep.

Speaker 1: It's it's like I think they think that this is

what they need to do to make their game feel

important and and appealing. And yeah, I think you're right

that it's fun for them, and it often just gets

in the way. Not that I hate it or anything

like that, but it often gets in the way and

then like you know, I'll restart a level when because.

Speaker 2: I didn't do it perfectly.

Speaker 1: I'm one of those people who likes to get this

stuff exactly right. And they have a small little intro

movie that is like two seconds of the helicopter flying

to the stage. I'm no, stop making me skip that.

I hate, like, just let me go back immediately instantly.

You shouldn't have that. You're getting in the own way

of your of the fun of your game. And I

just think that is the kind of stuff that indie

developers need to like recognize sometimes that that the presentation things,

those tricks you do to make your game like pop

like that.

Speaker 2: That stuff is important, but you need.

Speaker 1: To know how and when to deploy it, and sometimes

it's a little bit too much upon this.

Speaker 3: Fun I have like really good characters in the story,

like like your Hallow Night, which is big on long game,

there's not that much dialogue or like rights more.

Speaker 2: The lessest more so much better. I mean, you have

a white I was like, what does that not like

about Neon.

Speaker 3: White like parts where it's just like here's two JPEGs

of characters talking at each other for a long time,

and I'm like, stop, peez man.

Speaker 2: Hollow Night is But I mean the Silk Song just

they nailed. Oh god, it's a freaking good a lot

with that stuff.

Speaker 1: And then uh quite a bit more Blood Dungeon. Uh

the demo, which is, yeah, that's that's good. That's a

that's gonna be really good.

Speaker 2: I'm gonna I played that demo as well. I was.

I wasn't enjoying it.

Speaker 3: It's like it's like, especially now that I'm actually done

with Taro Tech Legion, I beat the last level on

the last difficulty and really enjoyed that, But now it's like, okay, now,

if you know one of these like I do, Blood

Dungeon and having it beat, have that too deep platforming.

Speaker 2: Aspect of it is enough of a twist on the idea.

Speaker 1: It's like Tarotech Legion was the one that really captured you.

Speaker 3: Yeah, tart Tech was definitely the best of these I

played so far. I really like the kind of making

my uh my my, I said ship because it's still

stuck with gummy shows my car and mechanic of at

my vehicle.

Speaker 2: I like that stuff a lot. But yeah, two D platforming,

that's fun too. And then I started playing Quake again

as well.

Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, I'm gonna play through that original campaign,

and then I'm gonna try that new campaign.

Speaker 2: Get Yeah, maybe I'll do Maybe I should do that as.

Speaker 1: Machine games is so goddamn cool. And then the fact

that they just keep doing this over and over again.

I can't help but respect it, and I think that

respect usually needs to carry over to actually playing it,

is what I'm feeling like. So yeah, I'll be playing

some more Quake, all right, Mike. Anything else that we

should mention, any other games, anything else you might remembered

while I was ranting there.

Speaker 2: That's it. We got a few more super chances you

want to hear.

Speaker 4: Hey, I tried that last project some Boy update. It's

pretty good at the farming and Peo.

Speaker 2: People keep talking that game up again. I know people

love it.

Speaker 5: It's so good.

Speaker 2: They project is zomboid project. Sorry you know I heard.

Speaker 5: Yeah, No, it's a it's a good game.

Speaker 4: It's just I want to I want to spin up

a server with some friends and that that's the most fun.

So it will be fun to see, like you, GiB

people play that game because it's so so Yeah, it

has a lot of things to do. You know. It's

a big, big soundbox to play around now mode than ever.

But yeah, I found a farm with chicken and is

my house now I live there. I have chicken sto.

Speaker 2: Good for you. It's goody good, right, Daniel Dwyer.

Speaker 3: Oh yeah, all right?

Speaker 2: Were ready for these super chats? Yeah? Please crypto codey,

says Mike.

Speaker 3: Do you know of the Disney Channel show So Weird

from late nineties early two thousands, like The X Files,

but as a Disney show.

Speaker 2: I'm watching it right now. No, I mean I wasn't like,

I wasn't really a big Disney.

Speaker 3: Channel Kid when they did were doing like a lot

of original programming on there. That was That's an aspect

of it. I didn't fall into too deeply. I am

not so raven. I'm afraid I've seen several d coms

for sure, And Jason Finale says in't relate to anything.

I just showed my wife the clip of Mike with

the chicken on his back while watching the Fills in

the Field of Dreams game. Oh right, that was and

she said he was completely justified and correct. I will

say it's been a little phrase like at the time,

you were all like, it's crazy that Mike was scared,

and there were a lot of comments like I would

be scared, dude.

Speaker 2: Now look, I'm not saying my reaction was justified. It

was a lot.

Speaker 1: I don't know if I have said it was crazy,

but it was just a lot. It was a lot.

That's that definitely is true. It was just and it

was funny and we couldn't help but laugh. But uh two, well,

yes exactly. And when you explained it, I'm like, oh,

you still like your shoulders touching that, Like, oh yeah,

talents talents are weird, like they're weird and having those

on your shoulder if that's something you're already not into,

it made sense to me. But I'm not surprised that

there's a lot of people, because people do have fears

of fear of fears of birds. I just I guess

I wasn't expecting it from you in that moment for sure.

Speaker 3: And know what's funny is, I didn't even realize until

watching the video plage. I didn't realize that that chicken

was on its own. I thought Dan was still holding

it the whole time. At least you were completely supporting

the chicken. Yes, yeah, I didn't even know they could

perch like that on people.

Speaker 2: O God.

Speaker 3: The drum Kids says, what are some things you do

to enhance your experiences with playing an older game, like

to pick up those bit map or loss and out

coffee table books and read some entries about the games beforehand.

I mean, I don't do too much. Maybe I'll find

like the manual somewhere, maybe look at that, but that's

about I mean a lot of times I will have

seen like some documentary or a game will show up

on some you some video essay or compilation, and that's

what once we make you want to check on old

game anyways first, so I kind of have some baseline

knowledge from that.

Speaker 1: Yeah, that'll that's the same for me where it's like, yeah,

I'll be watching a Shawn Shohnson video, so I've.

Speaker 2: Already kind of I'm already carrying carrying that in with me.

Speaker 3: Tom by Porne says, Hey, Greb Dozer, all your favorite

games in a four to three ratio. I want to

make sure I backed up my copies of said games.

Don't tell Officer Tolkoto.

Speaker 2: I mean, you know, lots lots of Super Nintendo games.

Say this would be.

Speaker 3: Any any Super Nintendo Genesis, Dreamcast, PS two game, QBS one, Like, yeah,

there's a lot of games, and it's it's a little

bit like it's almost funny because like the Super Nintendo's

true aspect ratios not four x three, but you still

still play it in four x three because that's what

it showed up as on TV's So you.

Speaker 2: Know, Super Metro. There you got. That's a good one.

Speaker 3: These men says, remember that you can vote in the

Bomb twelve. No one is making you vote for Fox

Quest two. It sure seems like someone's making you all

votes quest The Fox Quest two does better than Big Walk.

I'm going to be mad. I'm putting right now. Make

sure I don't forget well.

Speaker 2: I'll give you.

Speaker 1: I'll make sure I put you in touch with Phil Salvador,

who I believe started the Fox Quest two movement on

the Giant Box.

Speaker 2: Just for that, we're not playing you, all right, anything

else might any other super chets. Looks like we're caught up.

Thank you everybody? All right?

Speaker 1: Well with that, I think it's time to start wrapping

up the show, right, Mike, tell people where they can

find you.

Speaker 2: Tell them about nineties Disney, tell them about all yeah,

if you.

Speaker 3: Do nineties Disney Disney podcast, we should actually be getting

a trip report from aj who went to Disney.

Speaker 2: World for uh a little right photos.

Speaker 3: They were great, Yeah, hang out with his three kids.

So we'll take eight fun time there. Then whatever cocktail

episode to be on September first coming out where we

recreate cocktails from Disney Universal Team parks and just enjoy

them in Chris's backyard.

Speaker 2: It's always a good time, Dan dance, right, I do

do that in my sentence? Is that way? I stand

by it though I like it. It's a good cadence.

Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it's I mean you're supposed to like vary

your cadence throughout a sentence. I think, uh, I try

to like start a new sentence with that and then

like pick up speed as I go throughout, and I

think you just do the opposite.

Speaker 2: I just see the obbosite. That's why we compliment you.

It's like a royal custom.

Speaker 3: When we talked about it, yeah, exactly, Yeah, it's perfect.

Speaker 1: If you've been in have you been enjoying those those

big walk playthroughs, Well, we're gonna keep at it. But

if you haven't seen them, bet go go watch those

on Giant Bomb. It's been It's been a lot of

fun and Shoum works hard doing those, the live cutting

on those, and it's uh yeah, I could be worth

it for all the effort that's been put into that,

just to go check that out. And you know, if

you plan to play it, we are going through the puzzles,

so that would spoil it. But if there's a chance

you don't play that game, I think watching us go

through there is a really good way to get a

good experience of what it's like.

Speaker 2: So when we talk about it, yeah, or play it

that much, it exactly.

Speaker 1: Yeah, but if you know, when we do talk about

it for a Game of the Year later this year

and stuff like that'd be a good way to get

a handle on it.

Speaker 2: And it's it's special. I think it's awesome.

Speaker 1: I think it does. It's a surprise, a surprisingly good

stream game. I think better than I was even expecting

it to be.

Speaker 3: It's really funny with the cuts happening right like what

person scream bettal they then cutting to what they're screaming

up back from the other person's perspective.

Speaker 1: It's it's a good time. And then yeah, we'll be

back with episodes next week. Nin ten Dogs on Tuesday,

game mess Acides on Thursday. Until then, have a good win,

take care of yourself and goodbye everybody.

Speaker 2: No, I like this, Yeah, that we shot that little

control bade that looks like a dildo. Chad Warden talk

about that triple
