Speaker 1: Thank you. It's the internet. You're busy.

Speaker 2: Let's do this. Welcome to the Game Mess Decides podcast.

This is the podcast where we decide everything about the

world of games so you never have to think for yourself.

I'm your host, Jeff Grubin. With me is Mike Mannotti.

In today's episode, they made another Grand Theft Auto. That

doesn't sound right. Leakers be leaking. Crime-related draft. We're going

to do a draft, everybody. We're going to do some

crime within that draft. You all will help us figure out.

Who wins that draft? It's going to be kind of

a GTA-inspired one.

Speaker 1: But first, Mike Minotti, how are you doing? I'm doing good. Boy,

we sure did decide to give ourselves a week where

we work every evening, huh?

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 1: What's wrong with us? We don't do this. Wednesday night,

Friday night, this Monday night. What the hell? I know.

Speaker 2: We made some big boo-boos this week, and look, we're

going to have to look at the consequences of it.

Speaker 1: I don't have any reviews that I'm working on or anything.

No deadlines coming up or nothing. Get your webcam out

of my square. I just noticed. I just noticed, all right?

Get out of there. If I did my arm and

I see my arm in your space. I hate it.

I hate it. I was going to fix it. There

we go. There. Thank you very much. No problem. I

was breaching into Mike's space. That's right.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 1: You know what? I am not going to any soccer

games this weekend. None of them. Not even the later ones.

I'm sorry. I'm busy. I'm sorry. I got to get

stuff done. God, even then, I think we're doing, I know.

It's like, it's funny because like the things I'm saying

I'm doing. They don't sound difficult or hard. It's like

on Wednesday, I was like, I got to get home, everyone.

I got to go watch Paul Bart. Like, what do

you mean you have to? Seriously, I have to go

watch Paul Bart. It's somehow not an option. This is

required for my employment. And then like on Saturday, we're

doing our cocktail episode of the 90s Disney podcast. It's like, it's,

you know, it's another show I'm doing. Yes, we're making

cocktails and drinking them during it. So it's fun, but

it's just, you know, it's just, it's not, it's just

not a lot of free time. Yeah. Not having a

lot of Jeffrey time right now. That's for sure. Uh,

but no.

Speaker 2: Oh, well, I mean, cause yeah, you're right. Like when

I'm not doing all that stuff, I am playing games

for review.

Speaker 1: I'm busy. I'm working.

Speaker 2: So, uh, uh, yeah, but look, no, no, no real complaints.

This is all just like, man, we, when we pile

it on, sometimes we probably pile it.

Speaker 1: On all at once.

Speaker 4: And, uh, yeah.

Speaker 1: I still have to give away 50 of these blood

dungeon codes after this so that y'all stop harassing Chuck

asking where it is. I guess I should, I need

to be more clear. Like you're not going to get

it right away. I got to send them out to

you manually. Um, but yeah, I got to send out

these blood dungeon codes to the new premium subscribers and

all that stuff.

Speaker 2: Uh, it is, it is a weird job that we

have for sure, Sean. Uh, all right, well, you know what?

We're busy, so let's get into it. Thank you for

joining us. Everybody give us a good rating wherever you

Speaker 2: A supporter if you get us on YouTube as a

YouTube member or become a Twitch subscriber to any of

our Twitches.

Speaker 1: So when you see Christian or Mike going, hop in

there and make that happen. All right.

Speaker 2: We have a lot to get into with all of

these new stories here. Some stuff I want to talk

to you about, Mike. So let's get into that after this.

All right, Mike. So Netflix had the GTA special. And

then immediately after that was over, some previews started coming out.

My understanding from when I was looking earlier is it

doesn't seem like anyone's played Grand Theft Auto 6. These

were all hands-off previews. I could be wrong because things

keep coming out. So, but that was my understanding. Um,

so it was a very small group of press and creators.

They went to Edinburgh. Uh, they got to talk to

co studio head, Rob Nelson, uh, and that Rob Nelson

played roughly 30 minutes for them.

Speaker 1: They were able to ask questions and stuff like that.

Speaker 2: But we also got a good look at the game in,

in that Netflix special, which was about 26 minutes, 30

minutes long. It was in that range. Um, And we

got to see, you know, hey, it's Grand Theft Auto.

It's Grand Theft Auto. And we were talking to Christian

beforehand right before you got here. And it looks very expensive.

And then, like, the next thing we both kind of

said right after that.

Speaker 1: Was it better. It better look expensive.

Speaker 2: That's kind of the one thing it really has over

everything else is it can and should look very dense

and technologically impressive. And it certainly does check those boxes.

which I think might be enough for me to go,

I need to play this game just to kind of

see what all of that really is going to entail

when I'm holding a controller in my hand. I personally

am not chomping at the bit. I wasn't blown away

by what I saw, but I'm not trying to be

a stinker either. I want to play the game and

judge it for myself. That's where I'm at with this game.

I just didn't see anything in there that was immediately like, oh,

I can imagine this being the future of games.

Speaker 1: I don't know. What'd you think? I mean, yeah, I guess, right?

I suppose it depends on the expectations. In terms of like, hey, finally,

the next Grand Theft Auto. It's like, yeah, wow, look

at that. Like, you can see a lot of improvements

since 5. It's been a while, but like, they're currently

building off of what they did with 5. The swap

with protagonists, just a ton more detail in the environment.

Maybe bringing back some of those San Andreas elements that

people miss with like, how you can really customize in

your character. Stuff like that. I thought there was a

lot in that show that like, yeah, definitely was impressive.

I guess... I so never really believed that there could

be anything they can show. That'd be like, well, video

games are going to change from now on because of this.

It's like, no, this is what a video game can

look like when they are sort of afforded almost infinite

time and money. And this is like the one video

game that kind of has that luxury through a series

of like successes and kind of circumstances on its side. Right.

So it is fascinating in that regard. It's a bit

strange for me as somebody who I've said before, it's

not the biggest GTA fan. but I liked Red Dead

Redemption 2 quite a lot, for example. So I can

be down for these kind of games. I've just never,

I've never been like a big like, ooh, yeah, modern crime.

That's like, that's a kind of setting and aesthetic and

a narrative vehicle that I'm always really interested in.

Speaker 2: Yeah, the stories have never really worked for me in

a Grand Theft Auto, sort of ever. The sandbox element has,

but it's, you know, it's also frequently been the same sandbox.

So I spent a lot of time in grand theft

auto three playing around on that sandbox. And then in

the follow up, follow up games, we try some of

the story, do some of the missions, never really see

them through, do some more goofing around, trying to see

what mayhem I could cause and would have a good time,

but it was diminishing returns for me. Um, spent a

little bit more time in five cause that's one where, uh,

I was installing some more mods and, and kind of

doing my own thing in there and that worked.

Speaker 1: And that's, that's cool. And I definitely see the potential

for that here.

Speaker 2: But, uh, I, Do we have like a couple of

things that I would say, hey, if they do this

or that, I would be at least perk up a

little bit. And they're talking about some of those things. Now,

I'm always kind of on both sides of the fence

with the simulation stuff. They do seem to be going

for more of the Red Dead Redemption 2 style simulation

aspect of it. And I'm not like flat out against that.

Even getting on the elevator and having to wait for

the elevator is not really against that. I just usually

what I'm looking for is And then I want to

insert myself into this and be a stick that goes

into the cog and breaks the machine and then see what...

I want to see what happens at that point. Like,

that's the kind of thing I like about a hitman

or whatever. And, you know, I have my criticisms of

Red Dead Redemption 2's sort of responsiveness to the.

Speaker 1: Player getting involved in its simulation.

Speaker 2: I expect that to maybe still be the case here,

but I'm willing to see what could happen. And one

reason I have some optimism is... one of the other

aspects of this game that they are touting is that

the NPCs are a really big focus for them. Technologically,

they had their LA studio almost exclusively working on fleshing

out the responsiveness, the interact interactability of the NPCs, making

them feel like real characters with all kinds of uniqueness,

both in, both in terms of visual, uh, aesthetic design

and giving them the character characters that way, but also

schedules and all this stuff. And yeah, I, to me,

that begins to sound like, okay, so then that's the

obvious place where now I can go interact with them and,

and cause some mayhem and see what happens, you know,

whether it's mayhem or whatever else, maybe they have some

deeper systems for me to interact with these characters. That

feels like my, my own doing my own story. I

would be curious about that. They are, they do seem

to be setting up something there. And then, um, Hey,

missions may be less rigid. That would be a big

one for me obviously i know.

Speaker 1: That's a big sticking point for you yeah yes yeah

i just find it very.

Speaker 2: That like you talk about the um The uncanny valley

for when you notice things like the beer appearing in

his hand when he opens the fridge. For me, the

uncanny valley is this world so open, so many things.

And if you walk five feet in the wrong direction,

the game gives you a game over. That is uncanny

valley to me and really drives me crazy. The New

York Times says Nelson demonstrated missions with more possible approaches,

which introduces enough unpredictability that Rockstar says they're harder to test.

During the demonstration, Nelson was apparently still spotting tiny problems himself,

at one point calling out an NPC whose reaction was

slightly too slow. So, you know, OK, that again sounds promising.

And I want to get my hands on the game

myself to find out. And then in terms of the

size of the map, they're just saying very big. They

aren't giving square mileage. Mostly when they get asked that question,

it seems like their focus is look at the density,

look how much stuff is going on in this world,

which that was very clearly obvious from all the video

we've seen so far, but especially in these gameplay videos.

Speaker 1: So I put all that out there to you.

Speaker 2: We can, you know, have like a wrap up conversation

now and then move on from Grand Theft Auto six

because we have talked about it a lot. But any

other thoughts from you?

Speaker 1: Just that it's seriously unfun to talk about Grand Theft

Auto 6, boy. Man, like, I'll tell you what, we

did that reaction, and I thought I was nicer to

it than I thought I was going to be. I

think at the end I said, that looks neat. I'm

excited to play it. And it's the comments are still like,

you guys aren't going to stop me from liking the game? Like, yeah,

no shit. Why would I? What are you, fine?

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 5: You gotta understand too, this game, like I was telling

Rob earlier, I'm glad people like this game because apparently

the entire industry was, you know.

Speaker 1: This is where all the money's gone, yeah.

Speaker 5: If this game failed and the entire industry was going

to blow up for some reason, nobody explained why or

why was, like, I still don't get it, I'm too

dumb for that. So I'm glad people really like it

to the point where like, are you do any slight criticism?

They're going to jump at your neck. So it was like, okay,

I guess we're safe.

Speaker 1: It seems like there's a lot of people whose first

giant bomb video ever was us talking about this to

make sure we were bowing down to the king and

we didn't show enough humility in front of it.

Speaker 5: I don't know.

Speaker 1: Even just like, you know, on social media, people are like, oh,

you people think they're really cool for not being excited

about Cradle of the Dead. No, I'm just not. I'm sorry.

What am I supposed to do with life?

Speaker 4: I never liked this series that much.

Speaker 1: I want to still play it. it looks neat i

just it's become this behemoth and it there's there's a

lot of baggage around it and i don't know why

that's impacting me i don't know what i have to

do with it right i don't know why anybody cares

what how excited or not i am about grand theft

auto 6 but gosh it feels like this weird weight

and shadow around the whole industry right now says exactly

how i feel i'm looking forward to playing it but

not any more than anything else it's just right another

video game for me which is kind of like why

how is that not like the perfectly acceptable position to

have before you know whether a game is for you

before you.

Speaker 2: Anyone has played it outside of rockstar i mean i

guess there's a lot of reasons to assume it's going

to be a game for you if you've liked all

the previous ones because it does look a lot like

those but man i just the yeah i i'm not

that moved by super realistic graphics i also.

Speaker 1: Feel you know i can't Look, guys, I love punching up.

I just do. If I see something to tease about

Crypt of Thought 06 or Rockstar, I am probably going

to do it, and I'm not going to feel bad

about it. I'm sorry.

Speaker 5: Chad is calling me a hater. Jason also likes it.

Speaker 6: Well, they said they love you being a hater, to

be clear. They like when you hate. That's all right,

but I'm not hating on the game. I should say,

I posted, I skidded that I wasn't impressed. They've been

doing this same game for 25.

Speaker 2: Years, and like, like, The missions did look very familiar.

The gameplay looks very familiar. Now, I think that's my

assessment based on what we saw was... look, their solution

to how do we make this game feel big and

like it matters and like we're making a leap forward, well,

there's only so much they can do for gameplay. Their

answer is probably going to be do more of it

than ever before. More options, more variety. And I think

that's what a lot of their fans want. I think

that's probably the right thing to do.

Speaker 1: Exactly. I think I agree. But that is what they did.

Speaker 5: Yeah, they've been doing the same. And see, like, if

you're thinking game to game, your great leap is like

we're going to, Like, I don't know, the city is

going to be bigger and it's going to be kind

of more realistic to me, annoying sometimes to, to move around,

to interact with the world. I'm not impressed by that. Like,

I guess it's impressive in the technical way that you

can do all this stuff and it looks great and awesome.

But for me, it's not. And the thing is like, oh,

it's more realistic. You had to wait for the elevator.

I don't know if that's fun to me. in in

retro redemption to me that game was fun because when

you carve a thing a buffalo that it looks cool

but i don't know i've never carved a buffalo in

real life and that's a cool thing to do maybe.

Speaker 1: You'll carve a drug mule on this one yeah.

Speaker 5: Sure that's my point it's just like it looks cool

i want to play it it's not like i don't

want to play.

Speaker 2: It right i i want to play the video game

i want to see what they put in there i

want to see if i can find something especially for

me i just You know, I do watch it, and

it's like, oh, I'm reminded that the humor's probably going

to be, like, pretty lackluster. That Arby's joke. Not that

they're going after my boy at Arby's, but... I went

to Arby's today and saw... Yeah, hell yeah.

Speaker 1: There wasn't really a joke aside from, like, well, people

like to make fun of Arby's. No, and the joke

is one of the oldest jokes. Like, we love animals.

They're delicious. That's literally the joke. That was, like, their...

showpiece joke yeah and like i you know i've never

found grand theft auto funny in it like and you

know maybe it's a good thing honestly that they seem

to be veering into the humor less than ever honestly

because i never thought they were particularly good so especially

if they're you know they're saying things like yeah we

want to give me time so that's why you know

we're not gonna talk about uh donald trump or stuff

like that it's like man you're a game about like

seemingly like immigrants and cops and all these things and

you think like You're not going to talk about modern

politics or how that works with any of that stuff.

Speaker 2: And like, it's, I think it is, that's definitely a

fine line to walk. Cause yeah, that stuff can feel

out of date if you do get it wrong for sure.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 1: I'll, I'll admit that.

Speaker 2: But it's like, to me, what, what that sounds like

is they're, and I can't, maybe this is not true,

but it sounds like to me, Hey, we are afraid

of the people who will say, go, go broke. And

we don't want to have any sort of backlash to

our game. And she's like, you're grand theft auto. You're

the biggest, the biggest dick in the field, right? You

should come in there swinging it. And you sound kind

of like you are instead a little bit afraid of,

of the reaction to your game.

Speaker 1: And that makes me less confident because you just sound

less confident, but whatever. I want to play it. I

just want to play it. Then I'll know.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 1: And I'm not, I'm not afraid to hold grand theft

auto to a high standard that it seems to be like,

begging me to put it in right so yeah and

like as i saw it chat yeah hold uh i

want to hear have the same energy for ocarina of

time there's a very high likelihood i'm just straight i'm

not gonna like this ocarina.

Speaker 4: Of time yeah look mike you're right it's uh it's

like there's no pleasing everybody when you talk about a

game like.

Speaker 2: This this one especially though so and you know it

I also not like, I just like when I keep

going and saying, I want to play it. It's because

what we're talking about is again, a commercial. So I

can only have so much to like that I can

feel about it. And when I do find things I

want to talk about, it's like, let's talk about that.

And it's usually like, well, no, I'm looking for reasons

to be excited.

Speaker 1: You're just often. You're not going to get that here.

Speaker 2: Like often you're just going to get us saying, Hey,

here's how we're feeling about this thing. And we're looking

at it from a critical perspective. Cause that's kind of

the job.

Speaker 1: And we're all, yeah even just like i don't know

things we say get taken i was just like oh

you know i don't particularly get a lot of joy

out of robbing a convenience store in my game and

then people like mike needs needs to play baby games

like all right that's my favorite when i say something

like that people like well i'm an adult and i

like adult things like okay cool but i'm not gonna

put a pinky in your mouth don't worry yeah You

can see all the sex and violence you want. It's OK.

Speaker 5: I love all that shit. Like, I love robbing fucking

a bank and shit. But there's so many times I

can rob a bank the same way. You know, it's

just it's for me is that to, you know, be

aware of the same thing.

Speaker 1: Anyway, that's Grand Theft Auto. That's Grand Theft Auto game.

I'm sure we're going to be talking about plenty. All right.

Speaker 2: There was those leaks that happened. And Grand Theft Auto

or Rockstar did respond to them.

Speaker 1: Um, they just, they did.

Speaker 2: They, the one thing they said that like stuck out

to me was that they were, uh, they did seem

frustrated that they had to wait for Netflix cause they

made that deal with them.

Speaker 1: At least the people who are writing this message.

Speaker 2: Um, I wonder if that deal was, you know, brokered

by take two or rockstar or whatever, either way, it

would be brokered by people at the top and the

people actually working on this who are probably feeling the

most frustrated about their, the game that they slaved over, uh,

being portrayed in a weirder way in, um, in the leaks. Uh,

we're like, Oh, well probably we would have responded to

this more quickly in the past had we had the

freedom to do so, but we didn't because we had

to wait for netflix to do their thing on the

date they said they were going to do it um

but yeah i man those leaks came out that basketball

scene looks exactly like the basketball scene that was in

this trailer.

Speaker 1: Yeah that was the one where i was like leo

playing it's good like ah i recognize that right yeah

um yeah you know like i i i bet it

i feel because i bet it's very stressful because it

stresses a lot of people out there that that's out

They have no control over how those people are going

to show that game, things like that. I think there's also,

it's hard to do, especially when you're in this big corporation.

It's possible to take a step back and be like,

how is this really going to actually impact us negatively?

And probably not. Your game is going to sell fine.

Your game is not going to be delayed because you're

not going to even have it as bad as Half-Life

2 did, right? You know, it's all going to work

out fine. Again, I bet there's a lot of headaches

for it. probably was large for people freaking out about

their security and stuff like that. There's people whose job

it is, is to like the side of people are

going to see this game. And instead you have these

leaks out there. Um, so I do understand all that,

but again, rockstar, I've got the thought are going to

be just fine.

Speaker 2: Uh, to kind of put a bow on this story,

cause the, the leak aspect of this could be, could

be over. Um, uh, cyber leak appears to have cashed out, uh,

of their, their crypto, um, PC gamer, uh, Yeah, like

the most predictable rug pull in history is how PC

Gamer put it.

Speaker 1: He didn't release that build online like he said he

was going to.

Speaker 2: I mean, he might still have the Deadman Switch, but no,

it seems Cyber League perpetrator of last week's GTA 6

leak and perhaps the world's least convincing self-appointed champion of

consumer rights is... may not have ultimately been encouraging the

use of cyber leak cryptocurrency for benevolent purposes. As of

this morning, it seems the leaker has cashed out on

their scheme to the tune of over $ 200, 000 in a

rug full that just about everyone saw coming. So going

to put $ 200, 000 in the pocket and get out of there.

Speaker 1: Yeah. And there was also no leak today. Part of

me was like, that's not enough money for the danger

you're in, buddy. I don't think that was worth it.

I think you're right. Yeah, probably not.

Speaker 2: $ 200, 000.

Speaker 1: I don't know. You're probably getting caught in going to jail. Yeah.

It should be a good deal more money than that. Yeah.

Speaker 2: That really is a, that's it number for the, for

all that, but good luck to cyber Lake. We'll see

how long that freedom lasts. Xbox plans or reveals plan

to do their whole project. Positron a disc to digital and,

put a disc in your Xbox, get the digital entitlement.

The details of this have come out and it seems

pretty generous. It seems like, oh yeah, they are promising

that many, many games for the Xbox One and Xbox

Series consoles will work with this. There's more games getting

support later, but already I think they said over 1,000 And, uh,

you know, the way it works is the way we've

talked about it before, but as a reminder for people,

if you have like an Xbox one disc, you can

put it in your system. It will now give you

the digital entitlement, meaning you'll get all the benefits that

come along with that. Being able to play it without

putting the disc in being able to play it on

a different system. If it's Xbox play anywhere, you should

get that as well. Um, very, you know, I said

a thousand, they say thousands like plural thousands. So, um,

robust support of this for this out of the gate. Um,

I've been asking everybody this. I'm still trying to figure

out exactly where I land on it.

Speaker 1: I bet I'm being more optimistic than I should be.

Speaker 2: But to me, when I see this, it's like, I

hope that this means that they will be providing people

a way to put their disks into systems one way

or another for many years to come, like including on

Project Helix, which I don't think is going to have

a disk drive built in. But I think that this

means that they'll enable an external drive to be plugged

in so people can get the digital entitlement for the discs,

even on the Helix.

Speaker 1: Is that even too optimistic? Maybe. I don't know. I don't...

Maybe that's not what I would bet if you put

a gun to my head, I suppose. I don't know.

Speaker 2: No one buys discs on Xbox, and I have to

sort of reckon with that.

Speaker 1: Who would even buy this Xbox disc drive? They would

have to just sell it themselves, because a Walmart's not

going to bother carrying that anymore at this point. It's

going to serve so few customers, right? It would be

on the Xbox store, right?

Speaker 6: Yeah.

Speaker 1: I suppose it could be.

Speaker 2: They can make it so a bunch of third-party ones

that already exist work, but I bet it's not that easy.

Speaker 5: Yeah, it could be like a generic one, maybe.

Speaker 1: Yeah, it could be. I'm not sure, yeah. Maybe. But yeah,

if you told me this is just about getting people

who have an Xbox Series X and S to start

scanning that stuff, maybe it's more of that. I don't know. Yeah,

so let's complete the circle here, though.

Speaker 2: Dead in chat says, if you claim the digital code

and then sell the thing on eBay, how does that work?

So you have the digital entitlement until that disc appears

in someone else's system. So that means if you lend

it to a friend, if your cousin takes it without,

you know, and if you sell it on eBay and

someone then put, puts that disc in their system and

connects that online and gets their version, their, their digital entitlement,

the digital entitlement leaves your account and goes to their account. So,

I mean, that works really well for lending games still.

Lending games now is more powerful than it was before,

which is one of the aspects of this that makes

it feel very friendly, very generous again. But yeah, you'll

just have to keep the game, which means you own

the game still, so you own the digital entitlement.

Speaker 1: That's the whole idea here.

Speaker 2: All right, that does it for the stories that have

happened this week that are kind of worth talking about,

at least that I brought. But we have a bunch

of Super Chats that have come in, so we'll get

to those and talk about what people.

Speaker 1: Want to talk about right after this. All right, Mike,

we're back. Let's do those Super Chats, please. Oh, yes,

of course. Grub, you know that I love to Super Chat,

starting with... Yeah, most ready, man, they're saying. You know,

for some reason, I was like, I didn't change YouTube accounts.

I don't have to do that for this. I've done

this many times. That's not what you have to do.

Slider from Saskatchewan says, I love that Mike is already

thinking of nuclear options for Dan with Rhythm Games. Do

you guys ever play Boogie or Sukabon's Scotch Arena for

the Wii? No, I have not. I have not either boogie.

Speaker 2: I feel like I recognize, or in my brain, I'm

picturing a cover of that game and I want to

look it.

Speaker 1: Up and see if I'm right. But yeah, that would

be the most I have. Kitty cat man says, help

me out dogs. I keep hearing people talk about how

exhausting the GTA discourse is, but the only discourse I

see is people talking about, how exhausting the GTA discourse is.

It's exhausting. I mean, these things do always get there

where it does become exhausting, but then that becomes part

of the conversation itself, right? So then that becomes exhausting also.

It's a self-perpetuating machine of exhaustion.

Speaker 2: It's tough for me because I have a news show

and I have to talk about things that reach a

certain level of newsworthiness and GTA 6 sort of always

clears that bar because And I got to bring that

story to a guest host and an audience that often

is like, man, I don't, I don't care.

Speaker 1: I don't care.

Speaker 2: And it's like, yeah, I don't know what, honestly, I

don't know what to say to that. I could tell

you're exhausted by this and I don't blame you.

Speaker 1: You're right.

Speaker 2: So having to like stare in the eyes of people

who are over it is a little bit, it kind

of gives me just a slightly different perspective.

Speaker 1: But I, I agree. You're right that Mike's right.

Speaker 2: The whole sort of circular nature of these conversations always happens.

Speaker 1: But I was seeing plenty of like both like the

insane hype people, the people like being very against it,

of course, like the people being mad at the people

against and the people being mad at them. And then yes,

then the next step is like everyone talked about how

exhausted they are. Right. Yep. Yep. Every time. Right. Like, oh,

I can't. What kind of person wants this game to fail?

And then they're like, oh, yeah, everyone thinks it's real

cool to tell everybody how much they don't like Grand

Theft Auto. And then it's like, oh, I don't want

them excited, actually. And I get it. Everybody wants to

say their piece. And if everybody is like, well, I

want to just say this one thing. I mean, it

is so insane how much attention this is getting that

Twitch was suffering and was kind of down just because

everybody was trying to talk about the GTA 6 reveal

on Twitch, right? So it's just, it's, I don't know.

The whole thing is just wild. And like, yeah, there

is like definitely a part of me that gets just

a little bit weird about, about how big this one

game is for sure. And that probably does raise my

skepticism level and, you know, maybe a little bit of my, my, my,

my diffiness. That's not the word, but you know, I'm like, yeah,

I want to tease this thing a little bit. I'm

already skeptical of it. So sure. If that runs you

the wrong way, I'm sorry.

Speaker 2: And you're right about the punching up thing where it's like,

I know this game will be fine.

Speaker 1: So you're right.

Speaker 2: Like if I see something to tease, I will, I

won't hold back as much, but then you do get, uh,

sort of slammed down on, on, on your head from

people who.

Speaker 1: Are like, no, I want to be excited. And you're

ruining that. It's like, Oh, I don't actually don't want

to deal with you. So nevermind. And that's the fun.

I didn't get exhausted. I'll defend the game right now. Grub.

That was a ridiculous complaint about elevators. You piece of shit. I, uh,

I hope it's, I hope it's mostly elevators. I hope

that's what I hope at this point for sure.

Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 1: You want to tell me to stop being a baby

about killing people in video games?

Speaker 2: You're entitled to it. No, I'm glad that you are

so consistent. I'm like, no, Mike's got his feelings about this,

and I don't want him to change for anybody.

Speaker 5: Mike, I heard another person say that same thing, where like,

when they kill people in this game, it looks too real.

Speaker 1: It's not just you. There was a bit of a

difference between running over people in a PS2 game and

doing it in this thing. It's fine. All right. Next

up is from Grant. And he has been a Lincoln

man for 11 months. If you're reading this, it's too late.

I'm already gone on a camping trip. Have a good

show weekend and see you all Monday. Um, that's good.

That's good. Uh, Jim Gaffigan does a funny bit about camping.

It was like, Oh my, my wife's like, my wife

loves the camps. Like it was a tradition in our family.

I'm like, look, it was a tradition in everybody's family

until we invented the house. That's really funny. It's like

my parents didn't take me camping. You know why? Because

they loved me. Oh, yeah. You want to burn a

couple of vacation days ago, sleep outside on the ground. No, no.

That's where I am with camping. Uh, next up is

from Pokey. It says, why does Mike hate doing fake

crimes of video games so much? Is he afraid he'll

like it and start doing them in real life? I

do have an addictive personality, so yeah. Sure. Could be

a big problem. Yeah, it could unleash something. Missouri Matt says,

thank you, Mike and Jeff, for the content. Do you

think hot dogs taste better at the ballpark? Absolutely.

Speaker 3: Yes.

Speaker 1: Yes. One million percent.

Speaker 5: Oh, that's my dream.

Speaker 1: With everything.

Speaker 5: I don't know how hot they are at the ballpark.

Speaker 1: Yeah, you gotta make that happen. I mean, any kind.

And even though they all, like, they're different, like, You

get one from one of the stands, that's good. You

get one from the guy walking around. That's usually the best, honestly.

I like that guy with his cart. He slathers it

up for you himself. That's the good stuff. Next up

is from Zombie Porn. What if we get Grubb stuck

in an IRL elevator? Yeah, God, I would be weird

for not liking that. Everyone else loves the idea of

being stuck in an elevator.

Speaker 5: I was stuck in a service elevator one time for

25 minutes, 26 minutes, and it was rough.

Speaker 1: That's a long time in an elevator. The last five

minutes were.

Speaker 5: It's terrifying. I was with my dad.

Speaker 1: We worked together.

Speaker 5: So we were kind of laughing and everything because you

talk to the guy. You press the emergency button and

a guy talks to you. It's like, all right, we're coming, whatever.

And we're waiting like 20 minutes. It was like, the

last five minutes were kind of quiet.

Speaker 1: It's like, are we going to get out of here?

What's going on? I think the beginning of speed has

given me some elevatoring. I'm more afraid of elevators than

buses because of speed. Sure, yeah.

Speaker 2: The beginning of Mission Impossible. Now, he was underneath an elevator.

That's a little bit different, but still.

Speaker 1: Sure. Next up is from Ferguson. He says, never played

any GTA game. Watched a stream earlier. GTA 6 looks

like a video game. Hope other people have fun. Going

to buy more Pokemon cards. Can you imagine if, like,

what would have happened with Pokemon if after the Pokemon

game from 2011 came out, there wasn't another one for

15 years and how much people would be freaking out

about that. Yep.

Speaker 2: God. Yeah, that would be, that could, that would potentially

be even bigger, honestly, than Grand Theft Auto. Um, you, uh,

because zombie porn has a pretty similar one. You skipped

a couple.

Speaker 1: My mistake. Excuse me. Um, the AP idiot box says

on my way to the Kirby cafe. Thanks for keeping

me company in the train. Distract me from going in

the correct direction. Love ya, guys. Yeah, if I'm at

the Kirby Cafe, who wouldn't?

Speaker 2: Man, I'm glad you're having a good time. Have a

real good time at the Kirby Cafe. All right, yeah, here's.

Speaker 1: Zombie Porn's second elevator theme super chat. What if we

put an elevator in Grub's bed? No! That's just scary! Yeah, well,

if that was his beloved horse, though, and godfather, right?

He'd be happy to see a dead elevator. Yeah, if

I saw a dead elevator, I would be very horny, actually.

Speaker 5: Is this why you don't want to, like, raise her, like,

for your desk, your... Like, yeah, it elevates.

Speaker 1: It's spooky. It's like, it's alive and can come eat me.

Dirk Diglett says getting married in October. And the lady

says we can have a CRT and games at the wedding.

What retro system games would you bring for local multiplayer? Oh,

even I am like, it's, it's the 10 to 64.

You're worried about local multiplayer on a CRT. Like, unless

you're like gonna get the dream cast going, which would

be right. But, uh, GameCube would be a good one, too,

but I think Nintendo 64 is such a nostalgic favorite

for split-screen or, like, local multiplayer stuff.

Speaker 2: Yep, you can really quickly get a bunch of cool

multiplayer ones that would just be a lot of fun

that anyone can pick up and play.

Speaker 1: FireHorse says, Mike, folks are upset. I mark this as correct.

Want to give it another go. So, on Tuesday, you

had me pronounce a lot of words. I did pretty good,

except for hors d'oeuvres. I... brain farted on that one

well i heard this from a lot of people including

my girlfriend that i maybe got away with this one

um yuja.

Speaker 2: Yuja it's the second one i didn't want to like

i get a little z in there of my yeah

yeah fuchsia fuchsia is what.

Speaker 1: I would say it's a weird one it's a weird

word yeah.

Speaker 2: It's a weird enough one i was just like i'm

gonna say i'm gonna accept this i don't want to

like make a whole thing of it but uh And

it was close enough, in my opinion.

Speaker 1: I got that a lot. That's what happens.

Speaker 2: People at home love to be correct. So and, you know,

that's the risk we were doing there when we did

that whole segment.

Speaker 1: So it's weird.

Speaker 5: It's weird you don't pronounce the C on your language.

Because that C is so powerful in Spanish.

Speaker 1: Disgusting letter.

Speaker 5: Yeah.

Speaker 1: Yeah, we are. We do hate the C here. But

try to get rid of it for a while.

Speaker 3: Mm hmm.

Speaker 1: Uh it's everywhere else says i got my steam machine

oh congratulations that's fun i bet that's i bet that's

a fun one to plug in for the first time

just get going just start downloading things on it yeah.

Speaker 2: I uh i did figure out the angle for the

video i want to do about the steam machine which

is uh It's become the family computer like I used

to have when I was a kid. There was the

family computer in a big cabinet in the family room,

and that's what our Steam machine is here, where we

turn it on, and we mostly use it for games,

but occasionally we'll go into desktop mode and go on

the internet on the TV in the family room all together.

Speaker 1: It's pretty cool for that.

Speaker 5: It will be cool to have your thoughts on that

thing in a video format.

Speaker 1: Yes, I will get to work on it. Yeah, I've

been busy. uh uh let's see here now Alex Gogo

says hi I never played a Castlevania game I was

gonna try one which one should it be I mean

it should be Symphony of the Night which somehow isn't

just available on every platform though uh.

Speaker 2: Yeah I mean look if you get the advanced collection

you're gonna be doing just fine yeah get the advanced

collection even maybe just do Aria of Sorrow first like

that's like kind of the easiest one to get into

uh probably yeah so Aria of Sorrow.

Speaker 1: Would be would be another good pick there J.D. Kemp

says submission for 90s Disney drink shot of A.J. 's Pappy. Happy.

Speaker 2: Is it is this a reference to like your guys's

grandpa shooting a dog?

Speaker 5: Happy.

Speaker 1: What's a pappy? Is that a grandpa? A pappy? A grandpa?

Why would I be daddy? His daddy's my daddy. Happy.

I know. Right. I understand. I understand the confusion there.

We told a story before about Chris, my other brother,

having a rare bottle of Pappy Van Winkle that he

has been refusing to open. I got it. OK, so

this is a mix up of the brothers in this

mix of the brothers. Yes, Chris. Well, yeah, Chris, like

won an auction to be able to buy that bottle

at market price or whatever or whatever. Not market price

like the standard price. It's much more expensive than that.

And it's like, it's so it's worth so much that

he's stun locked and it's probably just not going to

drink it until it goes bad. So we're all very

bad at him. Yeah, no, that's, that's correct. Uh, next

up is from cat shrine crime. Excuse me. Guess PlayStation

five got jailbroken at a hardware level. Yep.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 1: That's, that's been in the works the last couple of weeks.

Interesting timing here, huh? Interesting timing.

Speaker 4: Yep.

Speaker 2: And, uh, you know, that's one of the reasons why

for as much as they don't want to.

Speaker 1: Move on to a PS six, uh, they'll move on

to a PS six. They'll do it again.

Speaker 2: I think they'll rebrand the PS five pro in one

way or another as a PS six light with a

new chip set that is locked down on a hardware level. Um, yeah, that's,

it's a, we're kind of right on schedule for something

like that.

Speaker 1: Uh, cat shrine crime also says also squadron 42 delayed

like eight months due to GTA five. This is that, uh,

a spinoff of the uh that what's that game that

got all the crowdfunding in the world.

Speaker 2: Okay yeah from um yeah star citizen thank you christian

star citizen.

Speaker 1: And look i'm not saying that these people are ripping

like part of me is like is it really just

because grand theft auto five eight months way okay that's

kind of what they said i think they like release

a statement and they.

Speaker 2: Are specifically record his stuff for squadron 42.

Speaker 1: All right, I'm looking this up, everybody. He definitely did this. Okay.

Speaker 2: Do you want to guess, Mike, what year he was

recording his stuff for Squadron 42?

Speaker 5: 2019.

Speaker 1: No, earlier. 2017? Earlier.

Speaker 5: 2015?

Speaker 1: 2014 and 2015. Oh, my God. 11 years ago, he

recorded his stuff for this game. Insane. Yeah, okay, cool. Cool, cool, cool. God.

I don't want to jinx anything. It's been bad for

a celebrity. They better hurry up. They better hurry up.

Next up here is from... You see? Look, you see

they invited Greg Miller to the Rockstar? Now look, I...

also would not have invited us if I was Rockstar.

But still, still, how dare they? I mean, I get

how they dare, but how dare they? Next up is

Zombie Porn says that someone who's getting the game they

want mike and christian are right this will be the

game i play as i watch mike play sewer shark

on my tablet yeah i bet it's gonna be a

second screen experience for a lot of people right i

mean that's just that's just a lot of these big

radio games anymore a certain point yeah um next up

is from jedi monster says gta 6 is the biggest

example yet of puddle news and people getting anxious about

this game need uh needing to be good people have

been waiting a long time i guess that's like because

there's like the subset of people that it does it

does just feel like I don't know. They just want

people to talk about how awesome and cool this game

looks so that they feel validated about their decade of excitement.

I don't know. It's the biggest example of that ever.

Speaker 2: Like there's never been a bigger example of that anxiety

around needing a thing that you've attached your hopes and

dreams to to be good. It's this like there's more

people who are in that camp than for anything else,

especially in video games. But anything else ever before, like

since like the prequels.

Speaker 1: Right. It's it's kind of crazy.

Speaker 2: And it's going to manifest in people being pretty annoying

about this in every which way.

Speaker 1: Next up is Lassie, and this is Mike. You need

to go to all the games on Saturday. No, I

need to get some things done. I bought a mattress.

I haven't done shit all with that. I bought a

display case I want to put together, put some of

my rare games in. I haven't been able to put

that together. My fucking house is a mess. I know

this basement is driving me crazy. I don't have time.

Speaker 2: I got to finish my goddamn laundry room, which I've

been working on since fucking May.

Speaker 1: It's a lot. GDZA says Rockstar should cancel GTA 6.

to punish us for watching the ski badges they're like

nobody gets it.

Speaker 2: I love that actually that'd be really fun says murdoch

says first time playing metal gear solid 4 old.

Speaker 1: Snake makes me sad uh we've i need to like

watch some performance comparisons it's just uh i need i

want to see metal gear solid 4 at 60 frames

per second I feel like I had to have played

the part of Metal Gear Solid 4 Hater only because

I wanted to talk Dan off the edge of it

being one of the greatest video games ever. I like

Metal Gear Solid 4. I liked it quite a lot

back when I played it. I think it's super cool

that that game is now available on modern machines. Right,

but top 10 game of all time. That's a lot.

That's a lot. It's a lot.

Speaker 2: The way Old Snake makes me sad reminds me of

Dolphins Make Me Cry from that Hootie and the Blowfish song,

so I laugh there.

Speaker 1: I'm glad you're getting to play it, though. Making Snake

look like someone's grandpa is a good way to get

some extra sympathy for... I want to play Ghost Babble.

That's what I want to do, man. That's a great

game right there. Next up is DKBomber. He says, Retro

games for the win. Modern games are depressing. I like

both still. I do. I mean, there's definitely... like I

definitely am not just excited for almost every big AAA game.

Like maybe at once upon a time I was right. Like,

but it's like, wow, this is the next game from

so-and-so I'm immediately excited. I am like more skeptical sometimes

of like even Wolverine. And I like almost everything is

something it does. And I'm like, huh? I wonder.

Speaker 2: But it's like it's awesome to be a Capcom fan

right now. It's awesome to be a Silent Hill fan

right now and to look forward to the next one

as a Silent Hill fan.

Speaker 1: That's a new uncharted territory for those people. This is

this is it's cool.

Speaker 2: So when the games are good and they're coming from

a company that seems to have shit figured out. there

ain't nothing wrong with being excited about the next thing,

even paying the full retail price up front for something.

Cause it's at the end of the day, it's usually

probably worth it. Like, like it has been for pragmata

and resident evil this year. Um, and could be for

Ani Musha when we get to play that. So yeah,

that doesn't mean I'm going to have that same level

of energy for everything, but I don't know.

Speaker 1: I can pick and choose. I'm good. Uh, next up

is from Simon, Simon from Saskatchewan says, I recently learned

about Sukabon's, uh, Shacho Reina for the Wii, uh, The

title means delinquent CEO Reina, where the CEO is a cat.

Japanese only bad rhythm game. Well, that's how can that

be bad? It's fine. All right. I want to try it.

Colder zebras is thanks to Mike. I'll never forget where

I was when I learned Dolly died. My wife and

I are taking our two year old to Disney for

the first time. Short three day trip. Any quick top tips? No,

because he didn't tell me which Disney. It depends. It

depends on which one. It does depend. Actually, I will

say this. You're going with a two-year-old. Be ready to

take breaks. Maybe multiply the day. Go back to your hotel.

Go somewhere. Don't force that kid to try to brave

it in the park all day. They are going to

get cranky and tired. They're going to get a little

cranky and tired anyways. And don't, you know, just let

the kid take some breaks and stuff. Don't let that

ruin the day. Make sure you have that stroller. Let

him sleep in there quite a bit. Nothing wrong with that. I.

What you said earlier today did not realize Peter Cullen

was Eeyore. I didn't, did not know that. Yeah. The

few people have been, and now I'm like double checking

to make sure I'm not like saying this. No, I

think that's right. Yeah. Yep. Yep.

Speaker 4: Yep.

Speaker 5: Yep.

Speaker 1: That was Eeyore.

Speaker 5: Yeah.

Speaker 1: Peter Cullen did a little bit, did a lot of stuff.

Obviously mostly known.

Speaker 4: Yeah.

Speaker 1: Obviously mostly no Froptis Prime, but I, I quite like

Winnie the Pooh a good deal. So I mean, Eeyore

aspect was important for me.

Speaker 2: I mean, Optimus Prime, but also just anytime I heard

his voice, announcing some new shit coming to Toonami or

Adult Swim. That also was, there was a time and

place in my life where that was the coolest shit

in the world.

Speaker 1: Here's a new anime coming out of Japan. It's the

big O. What the fuck?

Speaker 3: All right.

Speaker 1: Well, tell me all about it, dude. It's just, man, man.

Toonami had a vibe, man. I've been chasing that for

a long time. We'll never be there again. It was

too cool. Kono Nakasama says, new Final Fantasy XIV event

has a nice level air to Uematsu. Oh, neat. I

kind of have a lot doing to catch up with

the patch story stuff, and then got to do the

raid quest lines as well. But yeah, those events are

always pretty, pretty fun. I think you're going to like

the raids. Oh, I'm sure. The raids have always been

pretty good. Yeah, yeah, I'm excited for them. Which one

do you think I should get through first, the Ape

Mans or the Alliance raids? The Ape Man. Yeah, I

don't like the Alliance.

Speaker 5: Well, if you like Final Fantasy XI. Have you ever

played Final Fantasy XI?

Speaker 1: I barely played Final Fantasy XI. I have no great

affinity for it.

Speaker 5: Me too, so I don't think you're going to like

that one. You do the Ape Man.

Speaker 1: All right, that's it. If you guys want to send

any more Super Chats, we will read them before the

end of the show. Thank you. All right, we're going

to take another break. We'll come back.

Speaker 2: We'll get into our segment tonight, which is a draft.

We'll get that set up. We'll be right back after this.

All right, we are back, and we are going to

do a draft. This is a crime crew sort of draft.

We are going to draft things, I believe, all related

to open-world crime video games.

Speaker 1: Oh, I'm in trouble.

Speaker 3: Yes.

Speaker 1: Yeah, it is.

Speaker 2: You're like, oh, I want to go just to visit.

I'm trying to think of something like mundane. I got nothing.

I want to visit a ballpark at my game. OK, Mike,

you go do your fun thing.

Speaker 1: Meanwhile, I will. Petting zoo. Yeah, petting zoo. Actually, not me.

Not in my game. All right, here it is.

Speaker 2: Well, it does say last in the 10 dogs, but

it's Monati's 11 versus Grubb's 11. So I guess it's

like a heist thing as well. You are leading a

heist crew. The person who most recently stole something goes first.

Shut the fuck up. Friday rules apply as needed. After

round one, whoever currently has the lowest budget buys first.

If tied, the person who bought second last round buys first.

Once a crew member is bought, it cannot be bought

by the other player. If you run out of budget,

you must buy the $ 1 option and go negative. If

both players run out of budget, both can purchase it.

If you are in the Gamest Discord and want to

make a draft, check out the form in the topic

suggestion channel.

Speaker 1: Thanks to Joy Z who created this.

Speaker 2: Mike, when Steph and I first moved to Colorado about

Speaker 1: More than that.

Speaker 2: Now we went to Walmart and we put a pair

of scissors in the bottom of the cart and we

did not see them and we checked out. And so

we stole those scissors. So that was about between 11, 12,

13 years ago. Have you stolen something since then? So

how much time do you have to serve once you

turned yourself in?

Speaker 1: Yeah. Look, I might be stolen, but maybe there's a

reason we left Colorado. Gosh, I don't know if I've,

I must have deliberately stolen something in my life. I'm

shuggling the hooker up. I told the story of my

brother getting a little intoxicated and stealing a wizard hat

from Hopra House. That was fun. But I'm not a

delinquent like him. I mean, you stole the hearts of

everybody in America. Of course.

Speaker 5: You stole my joke just now.

Speaker 1: But Jan did it too in chat. Oh, my God. Damn, everybody.

It must be true. Holy shit. I'm flattered. I'm flattered.

I'm flattered. I think I'm going first, Mike.

Speaker 3: Yes.

Speaker 1: All right, there it is.

Speaker 2: Okay, so we'll go to the first page here. All right,

so we are selecting the second in command. We both

start with a budget of $ 30. I am P1.

Speaker 1: Mike, wait, is that right? No, maybe you're P1. Let

me double check that.

Speaker 2: You're P1, Mike. I'm P2, but I'm going first here.

uh so my second budget of 30 i see okay

30 um you can see everything all right mike i

see it great buddy could you do me a favor

and read the options for people.

Speaker 1: So these are choices for second in command starting from

cheapest most expensive the one dollar option is superfly johnson

from dikatana it's a steal but we all seen how

he performs in the field Yes. Number two is Balthier

from Final Fantasy XII. I'm a big Balthier fan, personally.

Number three, though, Jill Valentine from Resident Evil. Number four,

Alex Vance from Half-Life. $ 4. And for $ 5, Garrus Vicarion

from Mass Effect, who we know is a big fan favorite,

great character. You get the first pick here. I mean,

are you going for Garris Grubb?

Speaker 2: I would love to go for Garris, but I feel

like I can't. I think the cost performance ratio of

Jill Valentine is too much to pass up. I feel

like she gets a lot. She does a lot for me.

And at $ 3, it feels like a little bit of

a steal. So I'm going with Jill Valentine.

Speaker 1: Hang on.

Speaker 2: I'm clicking the button, and it's saying false. Christian, can

you click on it and see what happens?

Speaker 5: Let me see.

Speaker 1: Oh, wait. It says view only for me. Request added access.

There we go. Oh, my God. For real?

Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm requesting access from the editor, Christian. I'll say,

as you figure that out, I will say, gosh, I

thought I was going to be picking. I love Boss

Air a lot, and it's cheap, but that's me.

Speaker 1: And I know that Jill Valentine and Garris would be

more popular picks. I will say I think Alex is

a little expensive at $ 40. I don't know. I agree.

Maybe a little expensive. No way it's Superfly. I'm sorry.

Speaker 3: No.

Speaker 1: I'm either saving money with Balthier, who people do like.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 1: But I just, I feel like when I generally lead

Super Final Fantasy with this crowd, it doesn't super play off.

Garrus is so popular with everybody.

Speaker 3: Yes.

Speaker 1: Even at that price, I think I got to get Garrus.

Speaker 2: I think that's the move I would make. And I

kind of will maybe regret not picking Garrus. So I

think you made the right move there.

Speaker 1: All right. Round two, The Muscle. Mike, what do we

have here? And I think you would be going first

as well. The Muscle, everybody. So, number one, Glass Joe

from Punch-Out. Number two, Ben Throttle from Full Throw. Is

his last name really Throttle? I don't remember that. $ 3

is Chun-Li from Street Fighter. $ 4 is Karlak from Poltergeist.

$ 5 is Mike Hagar from Final Fight. Oh, I'd love

to have Mike Hagar. I can't go back to back $ 5, though.

That just seems crazy to me. I feel, honestly, these

all seem so far behind Mike Hagar. Well... Chun-Li's pretty

good at $ 3. I'm a LucasArts sicko, but... You're doing Chun-Li?

I'm doing Chun-Li. Chun-Li's my muscle. 90% in the thighs, baby.

Speaker 2: I feel like I have to match that energy, and

I think the only one that has a chance of

doing that is Karlak. Mike Hagar, I think, also would

be very good, but I'll save the dollar. I'll go

with Karlak, who I think is going to be enough

of a mommy-dommy muscle-bound one that I think that's also

going to do a lot for me.

Speaker 1: I thought you might have just gone with Glass Joe.

I know how you are. I love Glass Joe. Yes.

Speaker 2: Had you selected Carlyke, I actually might have gone Glass Joe.

Speaker 1: All right. What's next? All right.

Speaker 2: Next page here. The Femme Fatale. Mike, you have $ 22.

I have $ 23.

Speaker 1: That means you're going first again. What do we have here?

All right. Number one, the Weighted Companion Cube. Number two,

my Shiranui. Shiranui? Shiranui? From Fatal Fury. It's Mai from

Fatal Fury. Number three is Rouge the Bat from Sonic

the Hedgehog. For $ 4 is Ivy Valentine. And for $ 5

is Bayonetta! Uh... Hmm. But these are all... Honestly, these

are all pretty good. This is a good spread. Yeah. And, like...

The one I really like is a cheap option, so

I think I'm just going to go for it. I'm

going to go with Mai from Fatal Fury. I think

more people know about her thanks to the Street Fighter

VI thing. She's great. We love her. Give me Mai. Yes,

that's rough. That's crazy what you just.

Speaker 5: Said about Mai. She's $ 2. Well, she's not very known

for Street Fighter.

Speaker 1: That's crazy. No, I said more people know about her

because of Street Fighter. It, like, increased, it widened her profile.

Is that acceptable, Christian? You know what? Never mind. We

don't even need to ask you. I agree, Mike. I

thought I said a completely normal, reasonable thing. All right. Man,

should I just go with Rouge the Bat? I don't know.

Speaker 2: I think I want to go with Ivy, but I'm

not sure if, like, that does that much more for

me at, I mean, I like Bayonetta, too.

Speaker 1: But I don't know.

Speaker 2: Again, I'm not sure if like going and spending more

money right now will do all that much for me.

And the companion cube is funny. Maybe that's maybe that's

funny enough that it's worth it at a dollar. I

think I'll stick with the Rouge the Bat at two

or three dollars.

Speaker 1: All right.

Speaker 2: OK, that takes us to the next page and we're

tied on money. And I went second last time. So

that means I go first this time. But Mike, it's

the burglar. Who are options?

Speaker 1: Grubb's all-female team is about to hit a roadblock here

because for the Burglar, your options are $ 1 Claptrap from Borderlands,

at $ 2 Garrett from Thief, $ 3 Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell,

at $ 4 it's Sly Cooper from Sly Cooper, and at

$ 5 it is Solid Snake from Metal Gear. Um, yeah, God.

Speaker 2: I think I kind of maybe need to go in

splurge here and go Solid Snake, although Sly Cooper is

also pretty awesome. The thing is, I have to think

about it. I'm going first now. I spend more money

and then like you could go and just select Sam

Fisher or whatever. And I think that's a lot of

people will be just as excited about that. Maybe not

as many people. So am I really getting my money's

worth right now? If I do go solid snake, I

think so.

Speaker 1: I think I will.

Speaker 2: So I'm going to go with solid snake and spend

my $ 5. There's a lot of rounds left though. And

I'm only going to have $ 15 left. I've already spent

half my money and we're only, we're going to be

less than halfway through. So I got to really be

careful going forward. I think that's where you splurge.

Speaker 1: Frankly, I think many more people are excited about Solid

Snake than Sam Fisher these days. I think you're right.

Speaker 2: I definitely think that's true, but I think Sam Fisher

puts enough of a dent in you saving money might help.

Speaker 1: I think I only have one option here because I

think people actively dislike Claptrap. Yes. Garrett, people just don't

know anymore. I think Garrett's cool. Sam Fisher, it's fine.

I think I need to take Sly Cooper. I think

I have that Sly Cooper at $ 4. 00.

Speaker 2: No, Sly Cooper is maybe the most established burglar here,

even above Garrett.

Speaker 1: All right.

Speaker 2: Number five is the backer. This is the financial backer.

I have $ 15. You have $ 16.

Speaker 1: So I believe that means I go first, right?

Speaker 3: Yes.

Speaker 1: Okay. All right. Here's our backers, everybody. $ 1, it's Sam

and Max. $ 2, Tom Nook from Animal Crossing. $ 3, Andrew

Ryan from Bioshock. $ 4 is Cave Johnson from Portal. And

$ 5 is Roxanne Vandelay from Hi-Fi Rush. Yeah, I think

that I'm happy to take Tom Nook here. That's a

steal at $ 2. It's a steal at $ 2.

Speaker 2: He plays with our audience. Everyone knows his deal. He's

got the right energy for this job. He's a steal

at $ 2. I got to go Tom Nook. Yeah, I

think Tom Nook was easily the best one on here.

So you got me there.

Speaker 1: I agree. I think some of these are overpriced. I'm

kind of inclined just to take Sam & Max. I

love Sam & Max. I think that plays to some people,

at least. Yep. And it doesn't play to fewer than

any of the other ones, I don't think. Yeah, and

I now have technically one more animal person than you do,

because I got Sam & Max in the bundle package there.

Speaker 2: Okay, I might be losing out to the furry vote.

Speaker 5: The thing with Don Luke is that if you fail

the haze, he's going to kill you.

Speaker 1: That's true. That's fine. Okay, this is a fun one.

I have.

Speaker 2: $ 13, you have $ 15, so I'll be going first again

for The Driver.

Speaker 1: All right, here's The Driver, everybody. It's going to be

for $ 1, Jack from Elite Beat Agents. That's fun. For $ 2,

Putt-Putt from the Putt-Putt series. $ 3, Raika Nagasi from Ridge Racer. Oh,

he got excited. $ 4 is Axl from Crazy Taxi, and

$ 5 is Needles Kane from Twisted Metal, a.k.a. the driver

of the vehicle called Sweet Tooth, apparently. Which I still

don't like that. He's Sweet Tooth, damn it! Right, exactly. I, man,

I kind of, I think I'm just going to go

with Putt-Putt. You will, you know it's good for you.

I look, I am not going to touch her. All right, Mike.

I know what I know. I get it. That's fine.

I'm going with putt play.

Speaker 2: I played some putt putt games with my kids.

Speaker 1: That that's fun.

Speaker 2: And I just think that dumb ass car on my

team looks real great.

Speaker 1: But I think, I think putt putt record is the

best options here. I think Axel's taking a hit recently

from some certain things. Yeah. Give me a right. Go

all day long. Yeah. Oh yeah. Okay.

Speaker 5: No one's going to, no one's going to like, no

cop's going to be suspicious of Palpatine.

Speaker 1: He will be crazy. No, right? He's just a car.

That's what he's supposed to be doing is driving. The mole.

I have $ 11. Mike has 12. So I'll be going

first again with these options.

Speaker 3: It does.

Speaker 1: It does hurt. You don't, it's good to have more money,

but it does hurt not to go first. Often. For $ 1,

you have Larry Lovage from Leisure Suit Larry. $ 2, Luigi

from Mario Brothers. $ 3 is Octodad from Octodad. $ 4 is

The Spy from Team Fortress. And $ 5 is Agent 47

from Pitman.

Speaker 2: There's a couple here that really speak to me in

Octodad and Agent 47.

Speaker 1: But I love this Luigi. The Mr. L Luigi or

whatever it is.

Speaker 2: And, yeah, again, he's only $ 2.

Speaker 1: It feels like another steal. So, yeah, I'm going with Luigi. please. Okay.

It's not Larry. I don't think Octodad plays for my team.

So Spy and Agent 47, both good. I feel like

I maybe just need the heavy hitter in this case.

Agent 47, especially our audience loves him. I love him.

He's a great mole. Yes. It's a lot of money,

but we're getting later. This will put me back in

first pick territory like that. Yes, that's true. Yes. And

I think you have enough money for the next. Yeah,

there's three. It's OK. Maybe you have to take the

one dollar option on 10 or something like that. But

we'll see. OK. Here we go. The explosives expert. Mike

has seven dollars. I have nine dollars. Mike's going first. Mike,

what are the options? We have Electrode from Pokemon. Rico

Rodriguez from Just Cause. Jinx from League of Legends. ratchet

from ratchet and clink that's four dollars again that's one

dollars four dollars i forgot but i think you're all

picking up this and the number uh five five dollars

bomber man man what are you thinking mike i'm thinking

i would love that bomber man but it's just too

expensive man i love that fucking guy i love bomber

man it's just too much and you know honestly, when

like your second favorite option is the $ 1 option grub.

Speaker 2: I think you take that, right? God, man, this is

a really good one to have this option on Mike.

Speaker 1: Yeah.

Speaker 4: Yeah.

Speaker 1: I think I'll take the, the, the bargain bin electrode.

He knows how to explode. Yeah.

Speaker 2: That I think, cause I mean, for me, I really

feel like the only other option here is Bomberman and

that's $ 5. It's going to leave me with four for

the next two. So I'm going to really be in

a corner. Uh, I could end up regretting this, but

I really just like looking at this, I feel like

I have no other option.

Speaker 1: Uh, So you are Electrode. I am Bomberman. And I

have four. You have six.

Speaker 2: I'll be going first for the Hacker.

Speaker 1: All righty, everybody. At $ 1, it's Sora from Kingdom Hearts. $ 2,

Aiden Pierce from Watch Dogs. $ 3 is Adam Jensen from

Deus Ex. $ 4 is Futaba Sakura from Persona. $ 5 is

Cortana from Halo. I'm curious where you're going to go here, Grub. Yes, Ruff, actually.

I don't know.

Speaker 2: Um, God, I mean, man, Aiden Pierce does have his

iconic hat. Uh, that's true. Um, I, I, I do

like Adam Jensen. I think maybe the most personally out

of all these characters, I feel like that might be it.

And that's the one I can afford. Cause I can't

afford Cortana. Uh, Cortana might be cool, but I can't

afford it.

Speaker 1: It doesn't matter.

Speaker 2: Um, I'm, Does Futaba Sakura, you know, does that move

the needle for people? I guess I don't really know.

Speaker 1: You know what?

Speaker 2: No, what?

Speaker 1: I don't care.

Speaker 2: I'll be left with a dollar. So I have to

pick the dollar option next time. No matter what I'm

going with Adam Jensen.

Speaker 1: All right. I don't think Cortana is worth $ 5 anymore.

I like Sora. I know if I pick Sora, there's

a lot of people out there who just immediately aren't

going to want my team. Cause I know how this works.

I played this game before. So it's either like a

bit of a budget, unexciting price of eight. And I

think Futaba moves the, I think the persona sickles, that's

a fun character. At least we just $ 1 more free

than you for the next one. So basically you're getting

the $ 1 one and I'm getting the $ 2 one. We're

just going to roll the dice and see what we get.

But yeah, I got to have Futaba. All right. It's

your favorite, Mike. All right. I have $ 1. He's got $ 2.

I go first. It doesn't matter though for the wild card.

What are the options, Mike? The $ 1 is Mr. Saturn

from Earthbound. God damn right it is. Yeah. $ 2 is

Trevor from Grand Theft Auto 5. $ 2 is Voss Montenegro

from Far Cry 3. $ 4 is Dante from Devil May

Cry featuring Dante from Devil May Cry. And $ 5 is

Goromajima from Like a Dragon. Jesus. Yeah. So by process

of elimination, you got Mr. Saturn and I get Trevor.

So there we go. We got our teens then. All right.

This is the, uh, This is the full rundown here.

Speaker 2: Mike, go ahead and read your team as a reminder

for everybody.

Speaker 1: Yes, on Minotti's 11, I have Garrus as my second

in command. My muscle is Chun-Li. The femme fatale is

Mai from Fatal Fury. The burglar is Sly Cooper. The

backers are Sam and Max. Ryko from Ridge Racer is

my driver. My mole is Agent 47. My explosives expert

is Electrode. My hacker is Futaba from Persona 5, and

the wild card is Trevor from Grand Theft Auto 5.

Grubbs11 is with my second command, Jill Valentine from Resident Evil.

The muscle is Karlak from Baldur's Gate.

Speaker 2: My femme fatale is Rouge the Bat from Sonic the Hedgehog.

The burglar is Solid Snake. The backer is Tom Nook.

The driver is Putt-Putt. The mole is Luigi, or Mr.

Elf specifically. The explosive expert is Bomberman. The hacker is

Adam Jensen. And the wild card is Mr.

Speaker 1: Saturn. I think these are both good teams, bro. I

don't know. I don't know which way it's going to go.

I ride with any of them. Absolutely.

Speaker 2: I'd be very happy with either team, especially if they

were competing for the same heist or whatever.

Speaker 1: All right.

Speaker 2: What we'll do now is we'll get this posted up.

We'll let the community vote. The podcast producers will vote.

Speaker 1: We'll come back. We'll talk about what we've been playing.

Maybe do some super chats.

Speaker 2: We'll find out the results right after this.

Speaker 1: See you on the other side. All right.

Speaker 2: You can continue to gaze upon our work in the

draft here below while we go ahead and ask Mike Minotti,

what have you been playing?

Speaker 1: What have I been playing? Indeed, Blood Dungeon, going through that.

I'm struggling to get a clear on one of these

levels for some reason, and I'm not sure what I'm

doing wrong. I've unlocked four weapon slots, which seems to help.

I've unlocked the extra health. Do you think it helps

straight up because....

Speaker 2: You you will you kind of get the same number

of treasure chests uh yeah i was thinking about that

so it kind of maybe spreads out some of the

power over those weapons i.

Speaker 1: Guess i was thinking like if you get four weapons

and you focus on the universal upgrades maybe that's good

but like it's always like five damage increase at a

time so it's rough but i usually had a real

buck where after the second boss it just kind of

ramps up and i get swarmed and die usually is

what goes on so but I'm still having fun. Two clears,

two clears. So, uh, it's hard. It is hard to

do that. Yeah. So, yeah, I'm still having fun. I'm

still working my way through it. Uh, figuring those things out.

It's a, it's a good time. Portal show too. I

was playing that like have seven hours in that, you know,

talked about for it. It's fun. I think the boss

design is like, is like the big area where it,

it compares unfavorably to like dark souls or even, even

Eliza P really. Okay. Um, that they've been kind of,

I don't know, they've been okay. They just don't have

that great flow or even that readability of a boss

from like a Dark Souls. Like I fought this one

guy who's basically a slug baby monster. At one point,

like it just kind of started doing this attack with

his left arm where it just would very quickly swipe

at me, like almost instantaneously. And I'm like, well, no,

that's not how this works. I should be able to

read that it's going to do that react. And maybe

there was a tell and I just wasn't picking up

on it. But then that goes back to the readability. Right, right, exactly. And,

you know, not that the boss was that hard or

anything like that. I eventually just kind of, you know,

powered through it. So it was fine. But there haven't

been that many of these big boss fights. And when

I do get to them, they are kind of a

little bit whatever. But the game is still a lot

of fun. I've been enjoying going through it. We'll probably

see it through to the end.

Speaker 2: Yeah, I continue to be pretty entertained when I tune

in to see you play this game.

Speaker 1: It's, you know, I also.

Speaker 2: when I watch you play this game, think to myself,

I should probably just pick up lies, lies of P

on switch to, and play that first.

Speaker 1: Cause I still have not played that one. So, um,

so yeah, I mean, it's, it's got, it's appealing.

Speaker 2: There are other games of this, of this stripe or,

you know, within this realm coming out soon in Animusha.

So I'm like, ah, I guess I could also just

maybe save my time and play that instead. Um, but yeah, I'm,

Mortal shell two definitely seems like it's, it's a worth

playing and I will want to find time for it

at some point. I just have so much else going on,

including a star Wars zero company, which I've been playing

a bit of in between working on some other stuff.

Speaker 1: And I think, I think that game is really, really fun.

Speaker 2: A big part of it is, you know, it definitely

nails the fantasy of being a tactical cool team in

star Wars.

Speaker 1: There's two sides to that.

Speaker 2: The most important side of that for me is absolutely

the combat missions.

Speaker 1: Are those fun? And they are. You have the character

synergies that you really want. They are very obvious. You

begin to develop strategies almost immediately.

Speaker 2: Sometimes it is as simple as, you know, it's not

a synergy, but the one I talked about before on

social media is where I had the bruiser character cabbie

who does like uppercuts. And that's like when he's like

the main character that does melee that you have right

at the beginning. And, um, you get a thing where,

you know, you can shoot some people with him and,

and then maybe move them. And then if he's within range,

you can use your last action point to then run

and do an uppercut in the character. And as long

as that character was almost dead so that you do

put them down for good with the uppercut cabbie gets

all his action points back. And then you can keep

going and keep moving them and like really get them

across the map and do even more damage. And that is,

it they have that kind of thing for every character

some characters like uh chuck was showing me one of

the mandalorians who can do that to a kind of

a crazy degree where they are flying around the map

and and just getting in doing butt slams that are

like hurting people in an area of effect all around

them And you start really getting into the minutia of, oh, man,

if I could move this character a meter more per

action point, that would make a huge difference. And I

really like thinking about that. And I really like getting

excited about the idea of figuring out how I can

make these characters more mobile and more deadly and work

together better. And it absolutely nails that side of things.

And then it does it with a strong Star Wars flavor.

of all of these characters. Like I can, I've seen

them in star Wars before and they work in a

way that I would expect them to work. Um, now, uh,

the other side of that is living in the star

Wars universe with this team, which they try to like,

sort of make a little bit, you know, a diet

version of fire emblem. You're going back to your base

after each round, you're, you're building bonds with between characters.

Speaker 1: You're talking to them. As you build up bonds, you

get upgrades.

Speaker 2: Um, Your home base is a derelict ship on the

Ring of Khafrein, which is that planet from the beginning

of Rogue One. And, you know, all the aliens and

all your other teammates are hanging out there. And eventually

you get some people from the Republic, kind of the proto-Empire.

You can tell it's already being transitioned into the Empire.

But the proto-Empire, as they come in, they hire you

to do a job and they sort of make a

little base within your base. And you can have the

conversations and everyone's got their own clear motivations that deal

with their relationship to the Republic and to the Separatists.

And no one's really happy with anything there. And that

kind of drives the story forward. All that stuff works

pretty well so far. It's not like, oh, mind-blowing, awesome

Star Wars storytelling, which we've had in a lot of

Star Wars games. Obviously, Knights of the Old Republic, but

I would also put Jedi Fallen Order in there as well.

Speaker 1: It's like, oh, that's a really good Star Wars story.

Speaker 2: This hasn't been on that level, but I've been into

some of the characters, and I really am enjoying building

my team out and going out on missions with them.

The characters you do get that are authored, you get

a couple of different kinds. There's authored characters, and then

there are generated characters, which you can completely customize. So

you can make them, if you want to have a

team of all Mandalorians, you can do that, and the

game certainly facilitates that. I think most people who play

the game though are going to use the authored characters

because the authored characters have their own sort of, uh,

paralog stories that are happening where you can go, they're

going to, Hey, my old buddy who is also a

clone trooper, uh, he's, he just called me up.

Speaker 1: He's in trouble. Can we go help them?

Speaker 2: And you go out and you do that mission and

you help that guy out and that gets you, you know,

builds the bond with that character and you get to

see stuff you wouldn't get to see otherwise, especially let's

say if you're playing on hard and you have permadeath

on and that character died, that would lop off that story.

So it makes those, those missions feel that much more special. Yeah. I,

I think it's a game that makes a lot of

sense for people who are like, Hmm, Star Wars, but XCOM,

I would want to see what that's like. Now, if

you are a desperate XCOM sicko, this is probably not

the XCOM XCOM game for you because it's not an

XCOM game. It's a star Wars game. First and foremost, uh,

just using XCOM to tell star Wars stories. Uh, I

think I would have, I would like it even more

if those stories were just a little bit stickier, had

a little bit more going on, but it's not pushing

me away at all. It's definitely like, Oh, this game

is delivering on what I needed it to, to get

enjoyment out of it.

Speaker 1: Uh, so yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm quite fond of it. Mike.

I definitely am. I'm curious to, to try it. Um,

I almost hesitate to ask this question, but, like, I'm

kind of curious about this, because, and I want to

be clear, I think people can all make these choice results,

and I'm not somebody like, I think you should play this,

I don't think you should play this, really. But we, boy,

it seemed like it was a really big talking point with, like,

all that SNK stuff not too long ago, right? Because,

you know, Saudi Arabia owns them. And I feel like,

you know, EA, the same thing now, and I just

feel like I am not hearing that conversation at all,

all of a sudden, around this game. It's definitely come up.

Speaker 2: I've definitely talked about it and had people be like,

you know, that company's owned by Saudi Arabia. I think

there is like a small sort of grace period that's

happening with some of these projects because this is Bit Reactor.

Speaker 1: Bit Reactor is not. People are very excited about them

being able to. Yeah. Like a lot of people wanted

a new Exxon game. This is kind of the closest thing.

Speaker 2: And Bit Reactor is not owned by Saudi Arabia. That's

a different company that's working with EA. Now, EA is

publishing this game.

Speaker 1: Absolutely. EA and therefore Saudi Arabia gets money. for this.

Speaker 2: And yeah, that's, that's definitely, that's definitely the case here.

It's just, that deal just closed. People have been looking

forward to this game before that happened. And it feels

like this game, you know, I'm not going to speak

for everybody. This is why everyone's not caring about this.

Some people do, and some people don't. And the reason

for not caring about it is they just don't care.

But I, I'm definitely of the opinion on this one

where I'm like, man, I had been following this game

for a long time. the two entities that were working

on it that I always cared about were respawn and

bit reactor. And I was following their development and EA's

involvement always was a turnoff.

Speaker 1: And now it's even worse. Sure. Um, but I kind of.

Speaker 2: Don't want to punish bit reactor all that much.

Speaker 1: I see. I do see the distinction.

Speaker 2: I do.

Speaker 1: And again, people, people make their own choices with that

stuff for sure.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 2: And it's, you know, there's, it's always case by case

and sometimes it's, I'll be more worked up than, than others. Uh, the,

The thing here is, man, buying this game is not

going to, or not buying this game, it's not going

to affect Saudi Arabia.

Speaker 1: They make their money from oil, and that's in everything.

Speaker 2: I know it's nihilistic, but for this one, I don't know.

Speaker 1: These are studios that I care a lot about. So, yeah,

I'm enjoying the game.

Speaker 2: It's worth definitely looking into if you are someone that's

not going to bother and you're into Star Wars.

Speaker 1: I definitely enjoyed what I played of it. Yeah. You know,

it seems like people are pretty, I mean, got it

reviewed better than I was expecting it to. Yeah.

Speaker 4: Right.

Speaker 1: Yeah. It's like it went up to an 88 right now. Yes.

It started at 87. It's gone up to an 88.

So it's just doing better. Yeah.

Speaker 2: If you are looking for the dissenting opinion, they are

out there. I think I want to say that. Well, obviously,

Chuck's quick look is a very good resource for that.

But I want to say Aftermath maybe had a criticism

of it.

Speaker 1: Aftermath.site.

Speaker 2: I think they said they were expecting more from the game.

So if you're looking for the dissenting opinion, they are

out there. And I would check those out as well

because people really know what they want from an XCOM game.

And this one's slightly different enough that it could really

bother you because it was really bothering Chuck for a

lot of the game.

Speaker 1: Right. It's always interesting when, like, you only know the

one person playing. It's like, you know, I was hearing

from Chuck's, but I was like, oh, man, like, you know,

I was like, what are people going to think of this?

I was like, oh, yeah. I even teased Chuck, like, hey,

you got your own Mina the Hollower there, buddy, right?

You thought a game was just good, and a lot

of people think it's great. You think that wouldn't matter,

yet somehow it feels lonesome when that happens. Anything else, Mike,

that you've been playing? You know, just some more stuff

I've talked about already, like Final Fantasy XIV and some

other stuff I can't talk about quite yet, so Uh, yeah, yeah,

that's it. That's it. Yep.

Speaker 2: I'm busy as well with, with some stuff that we'll

be able to talk about, uh, maybe not even next week,

but soon everybody.

Speaker 1: So, uh, just hang in there.

Speaker 2: We're going to, you know, keep it on top of

them as many of these games as possible.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 1: We'll see. Oh yeah. I'm, I'm, I'm already playing grand

theft auto six. That's what I'm playing. That's it.

Speaker 2: All right, Mike, let's do those super chats and then

we'll get the results of the draft.

Speaker 1: Yes. Yes. We'll see that before I have a conniption. Um,

brandy brandy says today i learned ghost babble is called

that because of the initials oh gb for game boy

oh yeah i never thought uh i don't know why

it wasn't even called ghost babble in the united states

though it was just called metal metal gear uh that's

right it didn't have a subtitle yeah which is dumb

uh i don't know why but i'm a sucker when

portable games do that ghost penis yeah i loved all

the ds games that did that shit.

Speaker 2: Dragon sword we should do one where we um yeah

we should do one where we take all the ds

titles and like go to like uh jan and chuck

or whatever and make them try to guess what series it.

Speaker 1: Is yeah yeah that's that's gone dawn of sorrow yeah

what's the what's the resident evil one called god it

was a survivor deadly silence deadly silence god i love

that shit that's great uh fire hair says who is

this car that's putt putt snake sounds like a winning

team to me shut up zombie boy says so nintendo

direct next week or a different week um yeah who

knows i don't know about next week probably not next

week it's like i'd be shocked if we got through

september with that one right yes exactly right all right

uh any other super chats mike looks like we are

caught up there now all right let's uh Do the

drum roll. YouTube's betrayed me, but what about the Discord groups?

On YouTube, you won with 62% of the votes. And

I'll say, look, I always do this, Grubber. I'm like,

it could go either way. I won't be mad. Then

I'll see you winning by what I deem in my

brain to be too much. Unacceptable. And I get mad.

I see like five people in a row be like, well,

Grub's team has this one thing, so I'm voting for that.

And I'm always like, look at the whole team. Not

just Carlock, you fucking simps.

Speaker 3: But.

Speaker 1: There it is. All right. Carlock, would it be into you?

I'm sorry. Don't shut the fuck up. Yes, she would.

You sweet boys. You sweet children. Sean, do we have

the results?

Speaker 4: Yeah.

Speaker 1: Are we okay? Is it safe to read them? I'm

afraid for some reason. So the winner.

Speaker 3: With 54% of the vote.

Speaker 1: Okay. Is grubs 11. Listen, listen, 54%. That's fine. Perfectly acceptable. Practically.

And you know what? On, on blue sky, I'm doing great. Yeah.

I'm waiting for that. You know what? Hang on, hang on.

Speaker 3: I'll get mad on behalf of Mike this time. Mike,

you fucking nailed it this time. This one was immaculate.

You have Chun-Li and Mai together. You have Futaba on Hacker.

Electrode as the explosives expert is hilarious. Agent 47, Reiko

as a driver. I don't think you made a single mistake.

I don't think you made a single.

Speaker 1: No, you knocked down the part. The options that you

had in front of you, I think you always selected

the right one. I feel like when Grub gets a

draft and he gets like a Garrus or Mass Effect,

everyone's like, well, of course I got to vote for

the Mass Effect team. I didn't see a single fucker

bring up Mass Effect this time. Oh, we all forgot

about that. We don't like that anymore, I guess. I

don't want to play with you anymore. 54%, Mike. 48.

Basically a tie, like you said. Practically a tie. And

a tie is practically a win. Right? There it is.

All right. So there's your winner, Mike Minotti. The draft

this week. Man, that was fun. I'm glad we did that.

All right. Oh, so now Garrison's a cop is what

everybody is saying, right? Christ. Oh, I don't like it.

Speaker 2: All right, we're wrapping up, everybody. Thank you for watching.

Thank you for tuning in. We always appreciate it.

Speaker 1: Paris is owned by Saudi Arabia now. It's not untrue.

A vote for Mike's team is a vote for Saudi

Arabia with two characters, yeah. Oh, why don't you just

give your money to Saudi Arabia anyway, you fucking nihilist?

Maybe it's not about that, Grubb. Maybe it's about my

morality and where I want my money to go, you

piece of shit. Look where that got you. Basically a tie.

Speaker 3: Look. Huh?

Speaker 1: Back to me. Abandon your old world morals. Why'd you

go wait in a fucking elevator, you piece of shit?

Apparently I'm gonna in this video game a lot. Ignoring

you the whole time. She doesn't give a shit about you.

Thank you for watching. I think that Karlak would love

you very much. Actually, you know what? I want to

stay super hot. I don't want any of you all

touching me. It's fine. Do you think she would be

happy with you selecting the other team? Of course not.

Speaker 2: Your best move was to select the Grubbs team, of course.

All right, we're going to be back on Tuesday with

Last of the Nintendogs.

Speaker 1: We'll talk about.

Speaker 2: More video games on Decides next Thursday. thank you for

hanging out with us, everybody. Mike's got some stuff happening,

90s Disney, and we both.

Speaker 1: Got stuff happening. We're going to make cocktails. Yeah, we're

going to make cocktails. That episode will be out soon.

We recorded the Paul Blart Mall Cop film in 40s

last night, everybody. Good time. It was a good time.

It was a lot of fun.

Speaker 2: Jan did privately tell me today that we have to

watch Paul Blart 2.

Speaker 1: I said, we do? You have to. It's a strong word.

Strong word, but... We'll see.

Speaker 2: It was a lot of fun, and if people like it,

especially I have an Abby on, maybe we could do

a follow-up.

Speaker 1: There is a two, and I've seen it. It's rough.

I haven't. It's rough. All right.

Speaker 2: We're going to get out of here, everybody. Like I said,

we'll be back next time. Oh, tomorrow on Giant Bomb,

there's a UPF. And then 6 p.m., if you're a

premium member over there at giantbomb.com slash join, we're going

to be doing Giant Bomb Video Weekend Rental Club. Come

hang out with us as we rent N64 games from

another dimension.

Speaker 1: Bye, everybody. I should open my package so I can

put my jolt in the fridge, right? Yeah, put your

jolt in the fridge. That's a good idea. I still

want to warm my jolt. I'll give Monday Night Combat

season finale at noon. That's right, yeah. You know what,

you pieces of shit? That'll impress Karlak. That's right. Come

for me, muckbangers. Don't bully me, I'll come. I threw

that one again. Don't bully me, I'll come. He's so deadpan.

All right, we're out.
