Speaker 1: Good evening and happy Sunday AM Radio two point oho

Live stream. Thanks for joining us, guys.

Speaker 2: We're gonna get started here shortly, all.

Speaker 1: Right, I show seven o'clock in Texas, so we're going

to transition right there. Hey, welcome to the show. Welcome back,

Happy Sunday, Happy warm weather. Day was thirty four degrees

when I woke up this morning. Where I woke up

this morning, it was thirty four degrees. And as soon

as I got home, I took off my long sleeve

T shirt and switched into shorts from my pants because

it's like eighty five here or something crap like that. So,

but welcome back to Texas. I love it, and uh,

that's just how it is. So I hope you guys

who uh who hung out with us at the Morexpo

had a good time. Appreciate everyone being there, Appreciate y'all

showing up, hanging out, coming to talk to us and whatnot.

And we all had a really good time. And I'm

just gonna hop right over here and switch these guys

on and we're going to unmute, unmute. There you go.

What's up everyone? Hey, Hey, hey, Bill's still driving.

Speaker 2: On the road.

Speaker 3: Bill, how you guys doing.

Speaker 1: Uh yeah, so uh we uh we we. Uh So Jeremy,

my friend Jeremy who lives locally here, which all y'all

gotten to meet except for Freddy mcacors uh brought a

bottle of one of those like one point seventy five

liter bottles of larceny. So we we honored the Freddy

mclarsony tradition and uh destroyed that bottle. It took us

about three nights and we destroyed that bottle. So that's I.

Speaker 4: Uh.

Speaker 1: I made Kyle drink So Kyle's not a big bourbon guy,

but I went and poured him a cup. I have

those little, uh little shot glass the the Dixie cup

shot glasses left over from hamcasion. So I went and

poured him and I was like, here, Kyle, drink this,

and he's like, oh boy.

Speaker 5: I guess I was a little uptight that night.

Speaker 2: Somebody gets some down, Kyle.

Speaker 4: Uh didn't you say we're gonna make this a permanent tradition.

Speaker 3: The first night is the Freddie mag night.

Speaker 1: I mean that that sounds like a good plan to me.

That's totally, really really good plan to me. Thank you,

Glenn for the super chat. Uh yeah, Bill does not

have a Peter Bilt. He's got a kilt built, kilt built. Okay,

kilt Bill. Yeah, we'll talk about mister kilt here shortly.

But uh yeah, So what the So the big question,

the question that the first question I saw is so

what did you buy? How much did you spend? I

didn't actually buy much. I bought a new towel I bought,

I bought. I bought a hoodie because I forgotten my

hoodie and I needed a hoodie last night, so I

went in there and bought a more Expo twenty twenty

six hoodie. So it's dated, and it's really pretty soft. Uh,

not real heavy, you know, I got. I got two

or three hoodies that are real heavy. It's like, you know,

if it's a little chilly outside, they're too much. So

I like the lighterweight hoodies to use sometimes, and this

one was more of a lighterweight hoodie. And I bought

this hat because it was the Richardson one twelve hat

and I couldn't not buy it. Bought my I bought

some soaps from my wife, gave those to her earlier.

And I don't think I really got much else. But

what'd you guys get.

Speaker 6: Let's see, I I didn't buy. I mean, I bought

a few things. But the scary part is is I

think I found the thing that I'm going to buy.

Speaker 1: You bought. You bought into a couple of ideas that

are going to cost you.

Speaker 6: Later exactly exactly, exactly, so exactly. I bought, uh, you know,

I bought this fancy kind of dirt bag or garbage

bag or however you want to think about. Yeah, thing

that keeps all your dirty things in one place outside

of your tent or outside of your rig or however

you want to think about it. So I bought that.

I bought a T shirt I bought. Oh, I bought

the the DeVos DeVos five hundred light, which I really like.

That's very cool. I bought a little it's like a

wax impregnated piece of rope that's a fire starter.

Speaker 7: Oh that's pretty cool.

Speaker 6: I've heard oh yeah, yeah, where you just kind of

trim it and then you can, you know, use a

striker or something to light it. So I picked one

of those up. I bought some soaps as well. Yep, yep,

gotta gotta keep everyone happy. Got some soaps as well, yeah,

I think that's I think that's really it. But like

I said, you know, the scary part is I got

this ten off cubon for something that I have to

order this that's gonna probably cost more than what everybody bought.

Speaker 1: The the coupon expires in a week. Is that what

you're saying? Okay, yeah, okay, I thought I took a

picture of Brian's rig but I'm apparently I didn't. So

because i'm not, I'm going through some of my I

was gonna share some pictures. I'm going through some of

my pictures here and I don't have if one of

you guys has a picture of his rig or or

just a picture of the of the of the Alu cab.

Speaker 6: Rob Yeah, I got some pictures of that.

Speaker 1: I can turn sharing on.

Speaker 6: And I think I've got some here somewhere.

Speaker 1: They moved a bunch of stuff around and zoom and

host tools. There we go, h anticipants.

Speaker 6: It'll it'll take me, It'll take me a minute.

Speaker 1: There's no yeah, no rush on that at all. So

what what thro that?

Speaker 4: I'll I'll just tell you what I bought, Okay, So

is that all right?

Speaker 3: I bought the PP accessories.

Speaker 4: There was there was a guy who had some really

cool magnetic ideas and this is just only a sample

for holding definite accessories in close positions.

Speaker 3: And so I bought the one that's the.

Speaker 4: Seatback rack with the truck, with the larger definitive I

can't even talk. And I bought the one basic. They're

really strong magnets that you.

Speaker 1: Can mount, good quality.

Speaker 4: And I bought the small fire starter cubes that you

could make yourself, but I'm not going to do it,

so I bought it. The zippos that that company sells,

So I got the zip o And also, I'll let Kyle.

Speaker 3: Tell you about the table.

Speaker 4: If you guys want, head on over to Kyle's channel

and watched the video about the table. But we we

bought one not exactly like that, but similar.

Speaker 3: So that's that's pretty much. Oh I got. Yeah, that's enough.

Speaker 1: That's yeah, that was enough.

Speaker 2: Those magnets was for your wireless hope whole puncher.

Speaker 7: Yeah mm hmm remote remote hold puncher.

Speaker 1: Remote remote wireless.

Speaker 7: Yeah, standoff.

Speaker 1: Kyle got a new back windows for his flated topper

and yeah, that was a cool story. Why don't you

tell that?

Speaker 5: Yeah, so.

Speaker 8: Sorry, I So I got this flated topper to a

topper that goes on the back of your truck that inflates,

and they had an old window. So it's just a

vinyl window that velcrowde on. And I punctured mine in

Colorado last year. Whenever we were out in Array and

I bought it.

Speaker 1: It was like your first trip with it, wouldn't.

Speaker 5: It first major trip?

Speaker 6: Yeah?

Speaker 1: Okay, all right?

Speaker 8: So uh came back and and bought a new one,

bought a new back window. Hadn't even taken it out

of the in Colorado last year whenever, Oh I'm getting feedback.

Speaker 5: Oh okay. So punctured the window, bought a new one, didn't.

Speaker 8: Take it out of the uh the packaging, and then

Flated made a new window that you can pump up

and it kind of like automatically. Uh you can you

can put it in like an up position, because whenever

you pushed this vinyl window up, it would always like

fall down. So I went over there and said, hey,

I just bought a window. It's still in the packaging.

And then I also said I'm going to do a

video on this. And then once I told him I

was going to do a video on it all things change.

Speaker 6: Well, well, first of all, Kyle, whenever he came over

and uh you said, oh yeah, I've got aflated, and

the guy's face is like you could just tell He's like,

oh boy, is this going to be a good conversation?

Did I sit down at the right table?

Speaker 1: Yeah?

Speaker 7: To back that up, that conversation was the night before

when we were at the qui quat whatever the.

Speaker 1: Keyword couette at the k word place.

Speaker 7: Yeah.

Speaker 8: Yeah, So yeah, we were at an event the night

before and he just happened to sit down right in

front of me and we started talking and I'm like, yeah,

I'm going to get that back window.

Speaker 5: And then we made it, and uh, here we are.

So I bought that.

Speaker 8: I bought the I also have a video on my

RV channel about what Bill said a camping table. Well,

they had a smaller version at the show, so I

bought that instead of the big one that I bought

at Costco.

Speaker 5: So I'm going to sell the one that I bought

from Costco.

Speaker 8: And then I got a pewpew holder too, and a

couple of T shirts from Becker's Supply, and that was

my purchase for the weekend.

Speaker 1: Uh, customer service, and as I'm as I understand it,

the Flated customer service is pretty top notch.

Speaker 3: Correct.

Speaker 1: Yeah.

Speaker 8: I literally I called them as soon as I got

back from Colorado and said, hey, I put a hole

in this, and they're like, hey, do you want us

to send out some tape? And I'm like, no, no, no,

I want to buy a new window. And they're like, oh,

you just purchased, you know, a flated topper. We'll give

you forty percent off for the window. So flated if

you're if you're watching here, you gave and I was

able to keep the old window. So not only did

I get the VIP discount and keep the window, but

they refunded my money for the forty percent that they

gave me on the old windows.

Speaker 5: So I came out smelling like a rose.

Speaker 6: Yeah.

Speaker 1: Good customer service from those guys. They're they're nice folks.

Speaker 3: You know.

Speaker 7: I like that table chair camping combination that they got there.

Speaker 5: Yeah they have a couch now.

Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I'm seeing that on their website. Have a couch.

It's it's I don't know, it's nice. It's sturdy, it's

it's it's sturdy, but it's kind of not sturdy. You

could tell it's very well made, but you kind of

rock in it and it kind of moves around. It's

not the I don't know.

Speaker 6: It's not it's not bob proof.

Speaker 1: It's not bob proof. No, it's absolutely not bob Proof.

Speaker 7: I think bob proof had has stages of larceny. Yeah, yeah,

it's how how deep into the lars.

Speaker 1: It's not Saturday night. It's not Saturday night, eleven thirty pm.

Bob proof, for sure. Proof is the operable word, right right, proof? Yeah, right, exactly.

Speaker 8: I think those chairs were like a gag and then

it became a thing, and.

Speaker 1: Then they and then everybody. It's kind of like uh

Bill's kilt, I guess, right right yeah.

Speaker 7: With optional tak sak.

Speaker 6: Yeah.

Speaker 5: But anyway, I love my flat at top or it's great.

Speaker 1: Yeah yeah yeah yeah, good deal. Uh Bill of Tim,

what'd you get anything?

Speaker 7: Uh? Well, so so, uh let's see what did I get? Oh?

I got a new one of those. I think it's

Fox den is the brand, uh the camping towel.

Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I go, yeah, I got one of those.

Speaker 7: Got a second one so I bought the one last year. Uh.

Based on Bill's recommendation from the year before. So I

bought it. I bought a second one to have and

you never know when you're gonna need more than one

through a camping trip.

Speaker 5: Uh.

Speaker 7: And and they're small and in lightweight. They also had

a a wooby they.

Speaker 1: Had Oh yeah, yeah, so they did.

Speaker 7: Yes, has has snaps in it and you can pull

it up over and also snap a hood in so

you can you can have something to stay warm around

the campfire. Mm hmm, yeah, when you don't have the

hot tent.

Speaker 5: What what did you call it?

Speaker 1: Woo It's like it's like a it's like a blanket

that you wear that's got sleeves.

Speaker 5: Oh, I'm thinking of mister mom and.

Speaker 7: The So that's that's funny you mentioned that. And that's

kind of where the military picked it up.

Speaker 1: It's been too long since I've seen that. I don't

get that reference.

Speaker 7: Uh that that's the military. They called her their sleeping bank, blanket,

sleeping bags and stuff like that. They call him Woobi's We'll.

Speaker 2: Be It was the security blanket at the kid right.

Speaker 1: Oh, Okay, Creddie McK and I are on the same page. Okay,

I've seen that movie. It's been a long time.

Speaker 7: Yeah, you guys may have even been in the same

row and possibly the same seat.

Speaker 1: All right, So here's a question. This is good. I

like this right here, David Pearson, compared to last year,

did you see more interested in him radio from people

attending more expo this year? And I think my answer

to that, I know, I want to hear it from

from all you guys. Did Bill drop Yeah?

Speaker 7: Okay, well I think he's still there.

Speaker 1: No, he's still there. He just turned off his video. Okay,

that's fine. I saw and people people actually watched my

livestream because I saw several people there that were like, hey,

I brought my radio this time. And I'm like, great,

that's awesome.

Speaker 7: Did just turn it on?

Speaker 1: Because and some of some of them did. Not everybody,

but some of them did. Because every year I go

to more Expo, including this year. This happened this year. Also,

you know, I'll meet someone who's a HAM radio operator.

He's like, oh, hey, I didn't know you guys came

to this and uh, which means I don't watch the

channel very much, but that's okay. So and they're like

oh yeah, and I'm like, oh, well, we're on six

top five two, so just get on talk to this.

I didn't bring a radio, so I'm always like, bring

your radio to these events. You never know, you never

know who's gonna be there. But I think there was

probably just as many, if not a few more Ham

radio operator people, but outside our group. Outside our group,

we met Brian that camp next to us, Hector, who

we met last year. He was there with us this time.

Of course, Bob was there. Bob's a Ham guy. Who

else was it? There was at least two or three

other guys.

Speaker 7: Yeah.

Speaker 8: There was a guy that I met whenever you're getting

your sweatshirt, and he had an antenna poking out of

this yeah bag. And I'm like, gm r S Ham

radio and he was Ham Radio. I'm like, ok, good answer, good.

Speaker 1: I met before. No, go ahead, Rob, No, I.

Speaker 6: Was just gonna say, that's when we were doing the

beer swap, right, Kyle.

Speaker 5: Yes, no, no, no, no, no, no.

Speaker 8: This was whenever you were getting your T shirts. There

was a guy in line behind you.

Speaker 6: Oh oh oh, yes, I remember that. But there was

also my friend Justin.

Speaker 5: Yeah, Justin from Saint Louis has got his hand radio license.

Speaker 6: Okay, right, But in addition to justin. There was somebody

else that had walked up to the group kind of

towards the end. Who Yeah, who was.

Speaker 7: The older the older guy with the beard and the

the lock.

Speaker 8: Yeah, he was interested in ham radio too, Yes, correct,

but he had he does not have his license.

Speaker 7: So so there's there's an older gentleman that was walking around. Uh,

gray Beard had cover all on and he.

Speaker 3: Had with him.

Speaker 7: Yeah, we talked a little bit. He's trying to get

back into HF again.

Speaker 1: Doesn't Dennis have his license? Kyle, Oh, you're right, Dennis

Creech just got his license. That's not I don't think

that's who Tim is talking about. But Dennis, the hiker guy, Dennis,

he has his licenses. Well I did not hear Dennis

on the air that I recall, but but yeah, he

was there. And then of course our friend Damien that

camped behind us again this year, of course he was

there again.

Speaker 7: Yep.

Speaker 1: Yeah, and there was yeah, there was two or three

other people that were there. So there was a guy

that pulled when we went to when we left today,

we went to BUCkies and we were filling up and

some guy waved at me and I'm like, oh, hey guy,

and he had a jeep with that was decked out

and he's just waving to me because I've got junk.

I got a bedrock with stuff on it. Right, He's like, hey, man,

what's going on. Well, he pulled around and he's a

Ham and he watches the channel. His name was HWLE.

I don't remember QLE. I'm sorry, I don't remember your

call sign. He did tell me what it was. But

he said that they had come up there and looked

for us and couldn't find us. And I'm like, well,

where's your radio? And He's like he had actually, and

I felt bad for him. I didn't want to give

him hard time. He said he had wrecked his jeep.

He was in his wife's jeep, which doesn't have a

HAM radio in it. He had wrecked his jeep a

few a few days before, so it was in the

shop and he he didn't have a radio with him.

I'm like, well, dude, you can. You can have a handheld.

But when he said he wrecked his jeep, I felt

bad for hims. I didn't I didn't want to, but

that they were there too.

Speaker 6: They also had a goat, Yes, they.

Speaker 1: Had a goat. She had a goat with her in

the truck. In the truck a little baby goat.

Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah, mm hmm.

Speaker 1: Pretty pretty funny. But yeah, it was, it.

Speaker 6: Was actually it was. It was the same woman. If

you guys remember last year, I remember a woman walking

around with a goat on a leash.

Speaker 1: Yeah. Same, So so she's not a different goat. I

didn't even think to ask a different goat. Uh so, yeah,

so she does it, I believe, I don't believe she

has her hand license, but he does so. Uh so

that's cool. So we wouldn't get them, get them to

bring their radios next year as well. But but that

was good. That was good to see. So yeah, I

think really good Ham Radio present.

Speaker 5: Talk.

Speaker 1: Tons of meshtastic, yeah, a lot of Yeah, but.

Speaker 6: Let's not go to that yet because I thought one

of the coolest comments was, you know we had it

was this was almost like we planned it, but we didn't.

You know, with all the dicey weather, everybody was trying

to get weather updates and understand what was going on

with the weather, and of course we were plugged into

the weather nets and listening to the weather nets, so

we were getting the most up to date information from

every county around us, and somebody.

Speaker 1: Up, somebody up to well, the Nixie Amateur Radio Club.

They gave us the skyworn the local skywron repeater information,

so we were turned into local local two meters skyworn repeater.

Speaker 8: So Julie came over right, and Julia was listening to

the skyworn net and she was like, this is freaking amazing.

Speaker 1: Yeah.

Speaker 8: So she was way way I mean, I think she

has her tech. She might have her general yeah, and

she had no idea that like sky worn was a thing.

So now she's all all into good good.

Speaker 6: Welcome to another part of Ham Radio.

Speaker 1: That's right. Yeah, yep.

Speaker 7: So while uh to follow up with Robert, while everybody

had gotten just general updates but not actually what was

going on, some people left a lot of the foax

Landers took their expensive rigs and parked them in a barn.

And the Ham Radio operators we knew what was going on,

and we just left her. We just stayed out there

in the.

Speaker 5: Hot tent and that's right, yea, and smoked cigars.

Speaker 1: Well I did spoke well the UH and Gazelle tent.

You guys don't watch my show as she would, but hey,

Gazelle tents. You guys prevailed once again, had really good shelter.

I mean we didn't have any hail, okay, no tornadoes,

and we had some pretty good wind gusts and a

lot of heavy rain and the gazelle tent beat them all.

It was. It was perfectly fine for uh. And we

were sitting in the gazel tent with a firing in

the middle. Well one night we did. We didn't have

a fire ring that night of the of the rain

because it was actually warm out that day, but we

had one last night. And uh, and that's that's yeah,

gazelle tint for the wind once more.

Speaker 7: Sweet and not. I don't I don't think one that

one gazelle, gazebo or tent uh collapsed in as far

as I know. Nobody had water in their tents. And

it it no lighting, no thunder, but we had some

serious downpour for for quite a while which was there.

Speaker 1: There was a bit of lightning and thunder. It lightning.

I saw a little bit of lightning. I heard some

thunder in the distance and nothing overhead.

Speaker 6: Uh that that Uh. The lady who had the two dogs,

the two rescue dogs who kept coming around looking for

weather updates. Right, we became the weather station. She kept

coming around for weather updates. She said she got nervous

at the end and she broke down, and she she

moved into the fox Landers protective barn, protected building, right,

and she said when all that rain hit, they ended

up with six to eight inches of water going through that.

Speaker 1: Barn, inside the barn, inside.

Speaker 6: The barn, because that barn sits beneath a parking lot, right,

that's about the size of a football field, and so

with all that rain hitting that parking lot and not

being able to penetrate it, it just ran downhill.

Speaker 5: So yeah, yep, we were the smart ones.

Speaker 1: We're like, we're gonna weather this out. We're gonna we're gonna.

Speaker 6: Say we're gonna we did good.

Speaker 1: We're gonna just sit here. And yeah, somebody told us

that Springfield had a bubble that all the storms end

up going around it. And for the most part that

we got some heavy rain, but all the all the

red and the yellow on the radar went around us.

We got some green, heavy rain and that was that

was about a little bit of yellow.

Speaker 5: That's the Missouri bubble we have here, and we call

it the Arch effect.

Speaker 1: The Arch effect. That's good. The storm seas that arch

and it turns here.

Speaker 8: Just like it's coming one way, and then, let's.

Speaker 7: Be fair, the arches on the other side of the state.

But I think because we had Kyle there and a

couple other Saint Louis Natives, we got it by proxy.

Speaker 1: Could be could be Yeah, that's good. Okay, So KB

five U t I is in the chat Welcome Dave.

So I was thinking about this driving home. I was like,

I'm trying to go through in my head about vendors

we should invite next year and seed Studios needs to

make an appearance now to be fair. The number of

people I feel you guys, correct me if you think

I'm wrong. The number of people who know what meshtastic

is and these overland communities is is kind of small.

There are meshers there. We were talking to people on

mesh Core and mesh Tastic, both more mesh Tastic than

mesh Core. And Bill had a mesh Core repeater mounted

to his truck, so we were kind of golden on

the mesh Core stuff there. But there were a lot

more ad hoc stations on meshtastic. Just good morning, how

is everyone? I found this cool deal in this tent,

this kind of thing, so kind of like camventionon or Hamcashon.

Not as not as active as those places, but there

was definitely some mesh activity going on there and there

always has been. Was it it was? It was the

first year Bill came with us, so three or four

years ago whenever that was. Bill brought his T deck

Lilygo T deck, whichever version of it he has, and

he's sitting there talking to people on Meshtastic and this

was probably before I. I don't know if I had

one or not, but I didn't bring it that time.

And and he meets up with these guys inside the

show and they're just talking about Meshta and I'm like, Okay,

I gotta start carrying Meshtastic with me now. So I

think there's a lot. I think there's a large opportunity here.

Speaker 6: To do all the mesh curious people.

Speaker 1: Right, to set up a booth and have some documentation

that you can hand out to people about training material,

and to do a forum about Meshtastic at at these places.

So put that in your in your thinking cap and

smoke on it for about eleven and a half months,

and we we'd like to Yeah, already pushed the idea

to seat studio, probably going to snag a booth and

spread the word good, good, excellent.

Speaker 7: I think we could we could probably do a mesh

asterisk mesh asterisk class, Yeah, a radio HAM Radio General class.

Maybe even some weather stuff too. I think they could

probably benefit from some some weather, a weather course and

parks on the air or something like that. Starts showing

people how you can do more with amateur radio than

just because when you when you compare gm rs and

HAM on seventy centimeters, there's there's no difference. You're you're

not other than you get more power and you.

Speaker 1: Got Yeah, yeah, there's not hmee, yeah, there's not.

Speaker 9: It's not a Still, there were curious people who saw

our antennas, especially like Ice Screwdriver, and they say, hey, hey,

what what is this and they get he like they

kind of knew.

Speaker 4: So there are there are hf curious people as well.

Speaker 7: There there was a number of people that stopped and

took pictures of the trucks because of the antennas. Yeah,

so because because Bill and myself were parked side by

side with our well and Paul, so all three of

us had a screw driver intent on the front of

our trucks side by side. Hector had his also on

his that that kind of stood out. I didn't see

any antennas on Rob's truck, and I'm not sure what

that's all about.

Speaker 1: It's too new to right now. So yeah, so that's

so reading the chat here this is these are good ideas.

So yeah, Dave's on board with that. Not this year

or not last year. For the first three years I

was at the show, I was asked to give a

form about you comparing ham Radio to GMRS to CB

to f r US and all that, and I did

that and I think those were pretty well attended, and

for whatever reason they didn't they didn't ask me to present.

Now I could have signed up myself, and I should have.

There was a guy doing a GMRS class I think

this year, and I meant to go to that yesterday

and I just forgot about it. I think Parks on

the Air, I think that is a great idea.

Speaker 6: Tim.

Speaker 1: I think to have a Parks on the Air class

would be an excellent idea. I think we should push

the the all Roads Taken badges and show them how

you can get a badge for all the national and

state parks and whatnot. We're going to have a ham

benched twenty twenty six badge by the way, guys awesome,

So that's gonna be fun. I talked to those guys

for like fifteen minutes on Friday. They were they're very

interested in getting more involved with the amateur radio stuff.

And so I'm trying to think of people who would

do well. I've been trying to get Jim from Ledo

Mounts to come to this show. I think he would

do I think he would do very well. Oh yeah,

because he's got he's got some systems that are much

more universal than bullet Point mounting solutions, which are excellent mounts.

I own two of them. They weren't there this year

or last year. There was a new company this year.

Remember what they're called.

Speaker 6: Rob track Point. Was that it.

Speaker 1: I don't think this point would bullet point track track something. Yeah,

And they were, yeah, they were, and they look like

really good mounts too, But they had him for like

later model Forwards, later model Jeeps, later model Leedo mounts

is much more universal. He's just like, you know, this

goes on your seat bolt. Well, every every car has

a seat bolt that bolts the seat in the car, right.

So I think Jim at Leedo Mounts would be an

excellent vendor at this show. I also think, and I'm

gonna I'm gonna email Mark get better safe radio. I

email with him all the time. I think a GMRS

radio vendor that is not one of the two that

we had there. I'm just gonna leave that right there.

I think I think a GMRS radio vendor with with

the with the features that Mark ads to his radios

and the price point of his radios would do it

incredibly well. And he can sell Ham radios also if

he wants to limit it and say we have to

have a Ham radio license. But here's some Ham radios

and here's what these do that. These don't do that

kind of thing because there's a lot of Hams that

attend these events. It's not as big as like Hamcash

and him mention, of course, but I'm like, it'd be

cool to get somebody like that. So I'm I would

like to find some tac form. Is that it? Jeff says,

tac form question Mark, Yeah, that's it. So I would

like to find I'm going to write, I'm going to

start writing down some ideas of vendors that I think

would do well at this show next year and try

to get some more not necessarily Ham radio vendors, but

like adjacent vendors. Something that would do with Leo Mounts

works for everybody, right see uh meshtastic of course works

for multi you know, I t SM band, don't have

to have a license this kind of thing. Somebody like that.

Speaker 6: I think Tim's onto something though, right to show the

differentiators of Ham radio, yes, compared to gmrs. Right, here's Hey,

there's nothing wrong with gmrs. If you want to talk,

you know, rigged to rig more power to you. But

if you want to do more than that, and these

are the things that are more than that, I think

that's valuable.

Speaker 7: When I when I started crossing over out of the

out of the overlanding into the amateur radio, that's what

I was doing was parks on the air on the tailgate,

showing people how you could do more in your rig

with radio than just rigged to rig communication. And that's

what started drawing the Ham radio operators to the to

the overlanding channel. And people saw it, they saw, hey,

there's there's more to this than than that. When And

then of course the two incidents happened that year where

the one couple died because they got their RV stuck

out there and then their tow vehicles stuck no no

form of communication out out in blm Land, and then

the positive one where the the guy in in Death

Valley got stranded, was able to use his radio get

a hold of somebody on the east coast with his

GPS coordinates, they were able to call back to the

ranger station and get him the assistance that that he needed.

So you know, there's there's there's benefit in having it.

And you know, we go out and we do these

things just by going out in the park. It's practice

every time we string an antenta up and and and

do those things. And so everybody can do it. You

don't have to. You don't have to geek out on

it kind of like we do.

Speaker 1: But yeah, you don't have to know, no, but you will, Yeah,

but you.

Speaker 7: Will when you can sit out there now you could

you could be around the campfire now with a small

portable radio listening this stuff, doing a parks activation while

you're sitting at the campfire, camping overnight too, out in the.

Speaker 6: Middle of nowhere.

Speaker 7: I mean you just did you just out in Joshua Tree, Yes,

and do that kind of thing. I mean it's fun entertainment.

Speaker 1: Yes. So this is a good comment here, and I

want to talk about We talked about this real quick,

and then I want to talk about something else I

just thought of. I'll circle back to it. Dave KB

five U two wise talking to neuron Web about mesh

Tastic versus mesh Core. Mesh mesh Core is great. I'm

getting more into mesh cour I'm really enjoying it. Again.

Bill had a mesh Core repeater on his truck that

he drives down the highway with, so we had to benefit.

We had the benefit of mesh Core at the camp

this weekend. But mesh Tastic is more ad hoc, and

I think that would work better for these folks if

they're driving caravanning together, car pulling something like that, camping together,

a mesh Tastic ad hoc network would would be a

little bit more official for these guys. So I agree

with that statement, Dave. I think you're correct. Yeah, Ham

radio prep would be good, I think. And there was

someone else I just thought of a minute ago. Who

was it. I can't remember I was I'm trying to

read the chat and I lost my train of thought.

Speaker 3: But Ham Radio Prep was there, and he was there.

Speaker 1: And he was there, but they didn't have a booth. Yeah, yeah,

he did set up a table outside the uh the

Nixie I Amateur Radio, the MCom trip. Oh, that's what

it was. Sky warn. Someone in the chat mentioned doing

a skyworn for him, Yeah, explaining what skyworm is. Because

I wonder how many Yes, I wonder how many of

these I get asked this question all the time. You

guys have seen my truck, or at least some of

you have. I'll pull up it's in the thumbnail of

this video. We Uh, these guys were these guys were in.

All of these guys except for Freddie Mack because he wouldn't.

All of these guys in the in the chat right

now were huge, huge helps from installing this awning on

the back of my truck this week. So this is

my Taruka awning that that we put on there. And

they were I was.

Speaker 5: Busy providing the energy for you guys to correct.

Speaker 1: Yeah, you cooked and then you and then you escaped

and went and showered. So but uh, but that was

a chore to getting it there.

Speaker 4: Four.

Speaker 1: It didn't take four of us, but four of us

worked on it. It was easier with four of us than

it would have been for me to do it alone.

But I wonder how many of you ham Uh, I'm sorry,

how many of you overland guys who have rigs that look,

you know, similar to mine, kind of like mine, maybe

not like mine? How many of you get asked, hey,

do you chase tornadoes? Because I'll just pull out, I'll

be pumping gas in a gas station and I'll have

people come up to you and say, hey, man, that's

a cool looking rick. Do you chase tornadoes? And I'm like, well, yeah,

I kind of sometimes. I mean, I haven't done it

in a while, but that's kind of how I got

started in ham radio. So I wonder how many Overlanders

get asked that question. So I think that sky Worn

would be an excellent course to talk about totally, to

talk about, you know, just how what it is, how

it does. We could partner with the with the local

Hamm Radio club and their Skyworm repeater, and we could

have them do like a like a demo net or

something for like a like a two or three minute

thing on the repeater and that kind of thing and

do a check it because they're all linked repeaters, right,

so they can check in this is this county, this county,

this county. So that'd be something to think about right there.

I haven't seen Dave Gae in the chat, but maybe

you know what.

Speaker 8: We could do is next year, you know, there's you know,

I'm not going to let the cat out of the bag.

Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, there's.

Speaker 8: Some some stuff we could easily see if the organizers

would allow us to say, hey, come over to our

campsite at two pm and we're gonna you know, do

some ad hoc stuff asking questions about Skywarren and Ham

Radio and parks on the air if they don't entertain

a direct forum you know, for us to engage.

Speaker 1: Or you know what, Yes, you agreed.

Speaker 6: If we had enough people, we could do like a

Ham Radio village, right, kind of like they do at

def Con, but you know, not exactly what they're doing there,

but you guys get the point, right. If we have

enough folks, we could set up various examples of Ham Radio.

Speaker 8: YEP and Mestastic in mess Core could totally be part

of that. Oh yeah, just a whole communications you know,

section where we're talking gmrs, differences between the protocols, how

to get your license, things to do after you get

your your license, skyworn if you want to.

Speaker 5: You know, it's endless, right.

Speaker 6: Totally, and an introduction to every category. Something brief to

light that fire.

Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, and you have like just you know, somebody

sitting at a at a table and you put the

you know, the the topic in front of you and

somebody comes up and says, oh, what's this about? And

then you have your three minute elevator speech and then

they move on to the next topic if they don't

have any interest or that does not seem interesting to them.

Speaker 5: I like that.

Speaker 7: I like that.

Speaker 1: Boom Boondock Technologies is in the house. Bo that creators

of the Boondock echo. So welcome, welcome, guys, He says,

we could donate a boondock for Skyworm course. That'd be fun.

Thank you guys, appreciate y'all. Yeah, this is this is

a year away. It'll be April of next year, so

we'll be in touch. We'll be in touch with you guys.

But yeah, that'd be great.

Speaker 6: But you know the other thing is right, so two

years in a row we've had weather considerations, right, yes, yes,

and so I think that's just another another reason why

focusing on that. You know, it's the right audience at

the right time to.

Speaker 1: Yes, agreed, agreed. Yeah, you'll definitely have their attention if

any kind of weather pops up. Yeah, yeah, that is true.

That is true. All right, I'd like to see some

pictures from you guys. I'm gonna start this out myself,

and I'm gonna say, okay, I set up well. First

of all, I added some new patches to the truck.

These were in my in my arsenal here, so I

added this overland of America and Oscar, my Covland, this

inca four x four trail rated. This guy this orange

patch down here at the left. This is the guy

I bought my ice coat fridge from two years ago.

And this is the guy that makes that trash bag

that Rob was just talking about, which I also own.

So gonna be doing some stuff with his with his

shop soon. He has an affiliate program and he seems

to be interested in getting together with with the Ham

Radio World, so we're gonna do some stuff like that.

This I set up. I didn't leave it up very

long because there was a lot of win this weekend.

I set up my portable APRS station. This is this

is the bio one of battery in this box right here,

and the VGC I think it's a seventy five hundred,

and I had a Bluetooth and Android T running APRS

droid running in I gate or I'm sorry Digitpeter mode

and uh. And I had the Fara Ja the two

meter Faara Jay antenna and that thing acts like a

sale if it's windy outside. So it was like great antenna,

excellent antenna. So I was really wanting to record a video,

but I didn't want to get on the video about

how much of a sale that intenna was. So I

was like, okay, I want to do this at a

later date, so I'll set this up.

Speaker 7: But did you say it was on sale?

Speaker 2: It was?

Speaker 1: It was almost almost. Yeah, it was almost so. But

that was a good That was a good demonstration there

for or it was a good time with the Fara

Jay intent or the portable APRS Digitpeter that I have built.

So I set that up. So if any of you

guys have want to share any pictures, go ahead. I

turned on sharing. You should be able to share pictures

if you want to. Paul, what's up, buddy? How are you?

Speaker 5: Hey?

Speaker 3: How's it going?

Speaker 2: Sorry?

Speaker 6: I'm late.

Speaker 10: I oh sorry, trying to get laundry down and since

i'll be working nine days straight.

Speaker 1: Oh that's right.

Speaker 7: Oh wow, Yeah, Paul was just checking in to make

sure you're gonna be done in time for his live

stream tonight. Yeah, yeah, right, I got it almost. I

almost didn't do one, but.

Speaker 1: Mm hmmm yep. Okay, anybody got any pictures?

Speaker 7: I didn't take any.

Speaker 6: I've got it. I've got a couple here. I'm trying

to get a couple more.

Speaker 5: Yeah, up here.

Speaker 6: Here, I'll love the ones I've got. That'll maybe give

you a minute, Kyle, All right, let's see here, let me.

Speaker 8: Here, I I uh, this was let me see if

I can share my screen real quick.

Speaker 7: Let's see.

Speaker 1: You should have share capabilities.

Speaker 8: Yeah, let's see. How do I okay? Yeah, so let

me let me share. So this is from you got

me here?

Speaker 4: No?

Speaker 1: Uh, how about now? Oh there it is there it is. Yeah,

it's it's coming up. Hold on, it's not there yet.

Speaker 8: There it is, okay, okay, So this is from my

Square Drop Adventures channel.

Speaker 5: This was the indoor. The Fauxlanders.

Speaker 8: Got a video of the Flanders, and that is the

morning after, so a lot of them had had already gone.

Speaker 5: But this whole center area was just lined.

Speaker 8: With with with rigs and you can see there's the

ambulance coming out.

Speaker 5: But all that center line that I'm pointing to was

just filled with cars. They were just you know, cars

and cars and cars.

Speaker 1: Mm hmm.

Speaker 5: So all these guys.

Speaker 8: With with tents and whatnot, they were just all huddled

into the.

Speaker 1: Hmmm, over landing on concrete.

Speaker 6: I forgot how big that barn is.

Speaker 1: It's huge. It's a large it's a large building.

Speaker 5: I don't let's see.

Speaker 8: Let's see if I got uh, here's the here's the

weather coming in.

Speaker 5: Is it gonna play?

Speaker 7: Come on? Oh we've got about that one.

Speaker 5: Yeah, big tower thumb.

Speaker 1: Yeah.

Speaker 5: So here's here's our our compound.

Speaker 7: Here.

Speaker 8: You can see all the gazelle tents. There's some more

hikers that were back there. You can see the flag

see how.

Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I see the flag going. That's good. Good capture.

Speaker 8: As as I go on here, it's it gets a

little bit more windy.

Speaker 5: There there's the there's the tents.

Speaker 1: There's the tents going. There's Rob's Rob's tint and Dual's

tint behind it. That's good. So anyway, I got I

got a couple of I got a couple like that

myself of the wind and whatnot. So that was good. Rob.

Speaker 6: You ready, yeah, I've got hold on. Give me this

a side here I can I can probably do this

just a little different.

Speaker 1: While.

Speaker 8: While Rob is doing that, there was another picture that

I took on a mounting solution, and I took a

picture of it. I won't share it here, but uh,

you know, the guy came over. It's like, how much

is this mounting solution? Like to mount a cargo box

to the side of my trailer?

Speaker 5: Oh?

Speaker 8: The guy was like how much? You know, how much

is this mounting solution? The mounting solution the bracket was

two seventy five and then you had to buy the

the pelican case, which was probably another one hundred and

fifty or two hundred. So it's like a you know,

five hundred dollars solution. I was like, well, that's a

pretty expensive solution for me to put one hundred dollars

with the stuff in it.

Speaker 1: Will Yeah. The what is it called? Is it called

the mounting solution.

Speaker 8: It's called it's called the Mounting Company, the Mounting Company.

Speaker 5: Yeah, you have one of those times.

Speaker 1: I know I have one. It's dimounting something, but you

said solution and it confused me. No, no, but yeah,

that's the Yeah. They're expensive, they're expensive, very nice. They're

very well made, very bulletproof, and they're made in the USA,

so you're gonna pay a little bit more for that,

and I'm okay with that. I'm okay with that. But

they're nice people. Was the first time they had attended

the show, the first time I met him. But yeah,

it's it's it's a cool Uh. They got a cool

product for sure. All right, what is this we're looking at?

Speaker 6: Rob This is this is the Walletbuster here, wallet Buster.

So I've been looking for either a rack or a

topper or something to put on the back of my truck.

And uh, you know, it's great going to one of

these events because you can look on the internet for

months and months and months. Guilty, but it's you know,

it's like anything else. You want to see it in person.

You want to you know, you want to knock on it,

you want to see how thick is the metal, how

you know, how well has it constructed all those types

of things. And so I was able to cross a

number of things off the list that I thought I

was interested in, because once I saw them, it's like,

you know, the price does not equate with quality. This

was one. It's a company called alue Cab where yes

they're expensive, but these things are built like a tank.

Speaker 7: Yeah.

Speaker 6: And and this this is this is showing kind of

a This is something called a mod cap, a modular

cap system, so you can you can buy it in pieces.

You can get just the topper itself, which you can

see it just looks like a cap, a truck cap

right with you know, a fancy truck cap. And it's

got you know, these kind of wings on the side

so you can get into the back of the bed,

all those types of things. And then there's different types

of tents that you can add to it. So this is,

you know, this is one of those systems. And this

is this is one of the better. This has been

the nicest one I've seen so far. For sure. This

is I'm not sure how big that's or how well

that's showing that's looking in through the back door. Really

a nice system. So that's that's the one that's really

got my interest in one. I'm I'm really excited about.

Speaker 1: This has made for the people who like slide in campers,

like a like a four wheel camper or what's the kind.

There's a few companies that make those, but like the

slide in camper that slides in the truck bed and

that's your RV. Your RV exists in the truck bed.

That's what that's meant for. But it's got a little

bit more overland aspect than RV aspect to it in

my opinion.

Speaker 6: Yeah, for sure. I mean, you know, you've got all

the molly attachment stuff. You know, it's built really rugged.

Against the back wall is a water reservoir that's that's

piped down out to a spickett here in the bottom

left hand corner of the rig. You know, you got

your propane all that stuff on there. So yeah, it's

it's very you know, it's it's a little beefier than

your typical National Park slide in camper, right.

Speaker 1: Right, right, right, Yeah, Yeah, it's it's definitely well. And

Alu Cab has been around a while. Sometimes you'll go

to these shows and you'll see this company and they're

making something and it's like, oh, that looks cool, and

then like two years later, they're nowhere to be found.

Speaker 6: They're gone.

Speaker 1: Yeah, they're just gone. And Alu Cab they've been around

for a number of years. Ever since I've been into overlanding,

they've been around. They were one of the first names

I saw, and I never invested in them because they

are kind of pricey, but at least you know they're

they're going to be like, you.

Speaker 6: Know, around right well, you know, and we met another hand, Brian,

who we talked about earlier. He had one on his rig,

and so it was great to be able to talk

to somebody who's you know, had it, used it a

little bit, had some experience with it. That's not a salesperson, right,

that's not an Alu Cab employee or a salesperson. So

you know, he had lots of really great stuff to

say about it. So it got me pretty jazzed. I'm excited.

Speaker 7: Yep, Robert was. I was actually over there. I think

you were there when he told us about this, the

small issue we had with a tent. Yeah. Yeah, So

I walked over and we were talking to how you

cab I walked over there with Brian and the response

was literally, we'll take care of it, send an email

and a picture and we'll go from there. That that

was how quick and easy the process was.

Speaker 6: Yeah, because his is his is like eight years old, right,

and he's starting to develop some little pinholes. Right, This

thing's eight years old. And he went over and talked

to him, and you know, sounds like they're going to

take care of him.

Speaker 7: So I actually, uh, I know, Jason was looking for

some some pictures.

Speaker 6: I'm not done. I'm not done.

Speaker 1: Yeah, go ahead, go ahead.

Speaker 7: There's more.

Speaker 1: This was there.

Speaker 6: There's the goat, so we uh, this was the BUCkies stop.

So she's got a little baby goat there and that

was fun. Let's see what else I've got here now,

I mean, these are the pictures everybody really wants to see.

Speaker 1: Right, Oh boy, I didn't know y'all took down. It

looks like a middle it looks like a middle finger

shadow behind me? What's that about? Guys?

Speaker 8: What's great about that picture was the sky worn net

was going on.

Speaker 5: It was just like he was, he was. That was

his lullaby.

Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, you can see the antenna, right, So he's

got his h t clip to the that thing keeps

going off and then it doesn't even He's just like

I was.

Speaker 1: Out, man, I got a couple a little bit away.

I didn't have that much to drink that night either.

I gotta I got a whiskey or two in me.

And it was dude, I was tired that day.

Speaker 6: Yeah, well yeah for sure, me too, Me too.

Speaker 1: And then this is gonna go to the one with Bill.

Speaker 6: This one's pretty special.

Speaker 1: Kilt Bill with the tax sack.

Speaker 6: We make that up, guys. This is not a nothing,

you know, it's not. This one's the real deal.

Speaker 8: You gotta go to Digital Ranchers channel where we uh

we uh uh uh.

Speaker 5: What is the thing that I'm trying to engineered?

Speaker 8: Uh workshopped Bill's whole channel for his his new his

new Kilt channel to go over to over to Rob's

channel and listen to the live stream.

Speaker 6: And it has well, it was funny. So Trina, you know,

I had some trouble getting the live stream going. It's

the first time I had ever used that camera and

and tried to live stream like that. So I got

a you know, hardcore education there. But Trina had jumped

on at one point and she said. When I saw

your eyes were like slits, she says, I knew it

was over. It was over.

Speaker 2: There.

Speaker 5: That was a fun that was a fun stream.

Speaker 6: That was a lot of fun. That's all I got,

Gray Man, I'll let you take it from there.

Speaker 7: So Jason was was looking for some photos of Brian's truck.

Oh yeah, so I I just actually, wut just cures

that page? Okay, but but there are a couple of

uh pictures here with with the truck. So he's got

a full sized Tacoma. Sorry. Yeah, here's the alley cab

with the the awning out and the tent up and

then another one out here. So quite quite the rig

to get out and do some PODA and stuff like

that and campaign and everything in Yep.

Speaker 6: Yeah, good stuff, very nice.

Speaker 3: And he's a c W guy as well.

Speaker 11: He does.

Speaker 1: Really, I didn't realize that. I didn't realize he did

c W. Okay, Well, I mean that's.

Speaker 6: What I think. Maybe he's he's got a channel or

maybe he's starting.

Speaker 1: A channel, right, he does have a channel.

Speaker 6: First ten contacts, I think was that that something like

that I got referring to PODA, right, getting those getting

the park activated? First ten I think it was.

Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that. Yeah, it sounds right. I'd love

to share his channel.

Speaker 7: I uh, I'll get channel.

Speaker 1: I have the car, I have the card, but it's

not I don't have it here with me. I think

it's still in the truck. I didn't take anything out

of the I grab my dirty clothes out of the truck,

my radio, and my my overnight or my daily carry bag,

and I went inside. Everything else is still in the truck.

I'm like, I'll deal with that tomorrow.

Speaker 8: And I think I think it's just just WQ zero,

a amateur radio. Oh okay, so just type in his

call sign Whiskey Queen zero America.

Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I see, okay, I see that right there.

Speaker 7: It is card, but I can't find it.

Speaker 10: I'm gonnatart have brought it in.

Speaker 1: WQ zero A yeah, yep, that's him right there. So

so that set up he showed on his QRS page

is what I've been envisioning for my truck. With the

awning I got installed, I'm gonna do some PODA activations.

Go out there, set up the awning, set up a

table underneath it, that kind of thing. So that's that.

This is this is cool he's he's kind of right

up inside the timeline that I'm doing. So here's a

link to his channel. Guys, you got guys, go share

him some show him some love. He's only got one

hundred and eighty three subscribers.

Speaker 8: But uh, we on him radio tomorrow and be like,

what in the way, worlds, let's double that for him.

Speaker 1: We don't we on him Radio two point er. We don't.

We don't care about subscriber count. We really don't. Brian

was a cool guy. He we got to hang out

with him two or three nights this weekend and uh,

and he was a really cool guy to hang out with.

So h you guys go show him some respect over there,

if you would. But yeah, I mean, that's that's that.

That Poda setup is really cool. That's that's really That's

really what I want to do is something like that.

I did get the two seventy. I got a two

seventy what's called a two seventy X t onwing forty five,

So it's made by Taruka and it goes all the

way round to the back corner of the truck, but

it all goes it goes from the front passenger corner

of the truck to the rear driver corner of the truck.

Now I've installed it and I haven't opened it up

yet because Bill kind of scared me with how how

difficult it was to put back together. So I haven't

opened it up yet, but I'm going and you know,

I wanted to get it installed this weekend. That's what

we did. And uh, that's that's that's that's coming soon.

Speaker 6: We've really missed an opportunity there, right, I mean, we

really should have had cameras running for that.

Speaker 1: We should have had, you know, and I recorded, I

recorded the first part of that. That dude just jumped

up by twenty subs. He just he just went from

went eighty three to two of three. You guys are

awesome in the chat. Keep going, keep going, yeah, keep going.

So yeah, yeah, I should have.

Speaker 5: I should have.

Speaker 1: I was going to and I just we got into

it and I'm just like, and I was gonnas.

Speaker 6: Like, you got this thing above your head. Yeah, it's

like you can't stop once you once you pick it up,

and I mean, you just gotta go.

Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. So but but I but I will make it.

I will make a video. I started a video doing

the first part of that install and then I'll finish

it up. So we we didn't get that part in

there sadly, but I don't know it'll work out.

Speaker 7: So does the XT stand for like extra tall? Because

I'm thinking you're gonna have to take rob with you.

That's so so okay, Like even I couldn't reach that

thing easily.

Speaker 1: All joking aside, All joking aside. I was thinking about

this driving home. So I'm going to get on Amazon

and I'm going to search for mini scaffold or compact scaffold.

I want to get a scaffold because I was here's

the thing, okay, I have to stand on the bed

rail and walk up and down the bedrail on both

sides of my truck when I am unzipping and re

zipping the tent that's on my truck. And it's easy

to do. It's not that hard to do. Well Now

with that thing mounted to the passenger side, I have

to stand like with my butt sticking out and skimmy

down the side there and I can't reach the I

zipped the tent up from the end, I got in

the bed, I pulled the drawer out, I got in

the bed, and I'm zipping it up from the inside

of the bed. So I'm like, you know what I

need something that I can stand up on and get

up to this front Runner makes a ladder. Front Runners

the roofrack I have. They make a ladder that attaches

to the roof rack and comes down and folds up

for storage. It's like six hundred freaking dollars, which is

which is why I don't have it. So I'm like,

you know what I need something like like maybe like

a a stilts Yeah, that would work, but like a

scal but like a scaffold. Yeah, you can put a

lanyard on the zipper. Yeah that would be good too,

but you gotta you gotta kind of push the tent

in and zip it with one hand and zip it

with the other hand. So but you know, as short

as I am, I don't I don't take offense to

this at all. But I'm like, I'm it's I'm thinking

about trying to find like a mini scaffold that has

like maybe three two or three levels where you can

pull the legs out to make it taller. And I'm

gonna fold that thing up, put on my rooffrack, and

it's gonna go everywhere with me, and it's like, Okay,

I I need to walk around the truck. Here's how

I'm doing it.

Speaker 4: Sure, I have the Amazon version of that front Runner

and it's it's just well, it's it's very suitable and

it's less than one hundred bucks.

Speaker 1: You're talking about the ladder bill, Yes, get send me

a LinkedIn that out. I haven't seen that. Okay, send

me a linked to that absolutely, because yeah, because uh,

scaffolds are expensive. Well I'm gonna I'm gonna do the

Amazon special don so we'll see. But yeah, send me

a link to that bill because I looked at Because

front Runner makes a legit ladder and it it clips

on there and it's that's what it's for. It so

you can climb up on the top of your of

your your roof rack, because a lot of these roof

racks are I mean, like rob can't reach the top

of Hector's vand a lot of these roof tracks are

really tall, they're really high up there. So they make

this ladder so you can climb up and you know

it'd be easier to get stuff onto and off of

your rack.

Speaker 11: But as hooks on it, so you can hook it

to the rack for safety. It has hooks at the

top and it's very versatile. I'll send it to you.

It's maybe it's not as good.

Speaker 3: As that one.

Speaker 1: That's okay, as long as I'm not As long as

it's not going to break when I step on it,

I think, I'm okay, I'm.

Speaker 3: Bigger than you and hasn't broken yet.

Speaker 1: Okay, it's a good way to say. I didn't want

to say it out loud, Bill, but you're right.

Speaker 7: So he's caring a tack sack.

Speaker 1: So boondog technology, says fauval lat f O v O

L A t portable scaffold fifty dollars at Walmart. I

will look that up. Awesome nice. I think harber Freight

has a low scaffold fold. I think I've seen something

like that at Herbert Frate too. I want something that's small,

that that'll fold up to a to a smaller size

that I can you know, throw on either either strapped

to the side of my bedrack or throw on the

roof rack or something like that. I don't want something

that's huge, but you know, and it doesn't have to

be that long. You know, something that's like two or

three feet long is fine. It doesn't have to be

like the length of the whole truck. I can get

off of it and move it down if I need

to move, move up and down the truck. But yeah,

that's that's what I'm gonna look for something like that.

I'll let y'all know what I find.

Speaker 7: Hey, what.

Speaker 1: Somebody's on All Star?

Speaker 2: Yeah?

Speaker 1: Sorry, No, you're good, that's fine, no problem.

Speaker 6: I'm going to throw your link into the private chat.

Speaker 1: Okay, No, that's not it.

Speaker 7: Hang on.

Speaker 1: That's that's that's Brian's channel, the heckve ever work platform

on Amazon. Okay, Dave, I'll look that up too.

Speaker 2: That's that foldable scaffolding well, Walmart, that's.

Speaker 1: The one at Walmart.

Speaker 10: We had seventy four or seventy five dollars forty five

cents foldable scaffolding.

Speaker 1: Scaffolding that Aha, Yeah, words are hard today. Words are hard.

It's not really what I was picturing my head, but

that that would totally work. I think a thousand plants capacity. Okay,

what sizes it full? Down to five levels? So that's good. Okay,

looks like he's so.

Speaker 5: There's a picture at the bottom on the left column

of it folded.

Speaker 1: Up yeah, I just wonder how long it is. Those

hardy looks like it bolts in the middle. Interesting, Okay,

that that might work. I'd rather it not be red

because I don't want something on talking with my truck

that says, hey, come.

Speaker 2: Stealing, I'm stealing.

Speaker 6: So repaint.

Speaker 1: I speaking of those, you guys know those Zargis cases.

The they're like stainless steel. They're like rock solid, bulletproof.

Absolutely awesome. Uh A truck bed and roof rack cases.

I love those things. I almost bought a couple of

them a while back, and I couldn't get over the

fact that they were stainless, because like the sun hits

them and they just they just glow in the sun

and it's like, hey, guys, come steal me. So I

wanted something a little bit more gray Man than that.

Not not Tim Grayman, but actual gray Man. So that's

a skitch.

Speaker 7: You rattle can out take care of it right right right?

Speaker 1: Yeah?

Speaker 7: Give it to Texas paint Job.

Speaker 1: Well yeah, yeah, because that wouldn't fade at all. So

I've heard of Jeremy. I've heard Jeremy is VID five

in the chat. I've heard of gorilla ladders. I don't

I've never owned one, but doubles is a Bota bench.

Oh okay, talk me into it.

Speaker 7: So I actually bought a small well it's not small,

probably twenty feet telescopic ladder, but I think they had

smaller ones, and they they nest down in you. You

bring them up, yes, and they've got hooks, big hooks

over the top where you could almost lean that up

again up against whatever you've got on the edge of

your bed rack. I don't know how how small they

have them, if they've got him like a ten or

twelve foot version.

Speaker 1: Mm hmm.

Speaker 3: Yeah, it's kind of what I was talking about. And

it pulls down to like.

Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, send me a link to it. Bill.

That's that's cool.

Speaker 4: See, if that's what you're talking about, I wouldn't had

mine would be, but I just left it with the trailer.

Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well yeah, that's fine. Okay. Shibe any box,

any color ninety nine ninety five? What are you talking about,

ham till it hurts? What it is that paint? Or

is it like, is that a brand of box?

Speaker 7: Is that Earl Shive? Oh, Earl Shib, Yeah, paint, Yeah, Earl.

Speaker 1: Shib's paint does not last in Texas, My brother, I wish.

Speaker 7: You could only not a nine dollars paint job.

Speaker 8: Yeah, get on my shine box boy.

Speaker 1: Oh gosh, who is Shane's PC? Who is that.

Speaker 7: PC that belongs to Shane?

Speaker 1: I guess he's joining the zoom. We're gonna say that's

what it is. It's either a p X Shane or

it's qb F Shane. I think it's probably a p

X Shane, so it is. Yeah, there you go. What's up.

Speaker 2: When you get the video?

Speaker 1: Mutual YouTube too?

Speaker 3: Brother? How are you.

Speaker 1: You're I think you're either your radio or your YouTube

is coming.

Speaker 2: Through your cop radio?

Speaker 6: Is it turned on?

Speaker 3: Shane?

Speaker 1: It's a cop radio?

Speaker 3: Yeah?

Speaker 1: I think.

Speaker 6: It's film from Bill.

Speaker 12: Cop Oh boy, I just have this, That's all I have.

Speaker 1: I mean, Shane shows up and you hear a cop radio,

so you just assume.

Speaker 6: You assume as Shane, it's me.

Speaker 1: Amast with the most expensive walkie on his hip.

Speaker 12: Yeah, although Dayton's kind of a close comparison because there's

a lot of guys with that carry some expensive stuff.

Speaker 1: Totally, that's true.

Speaker 2: Yeah, so I wanted to come.

Speaker 12: On he real quick before you guys. I don't know

when the stream is going to be ending. But as

most of them may know, some of you may not know.

Jason already knows at the end of the month. So

next weekend will be my last weekend in the state

of California.

Speaker 1: Congratulations, Yeah, I do that out loud.

Speaker 7: I'm sorry, you're officially escaping.

Speaker 1: Huh, yes, sir, moving to the USA.

Speaker 7: They got a tax shape for for less taxes.

Speaker 12: Yeah, so I got a I got a job as

a radio contact for the Navajo County Sheriff's Office in Arizona.

Speaker 6: That. Yeah, I think you will.

Speaker 5: Summertime, which is like eight twelve months of the year,

but you're.

Speaker 12: Gonna love It's three hours northeast of Phoenix and it's

up in the mountains.

Speaker 1: That yeah, yeah, you really love it.

Speaker 12: If you guys have, I know Jason has. If you

guys heard of Solo Arizona or standing on the corner

in Winslow, Arizona.

Speaker 6: Mm hmmm, sounds familiar.

Speaker 1: We need to do that. We need to actually go

to Winslow, Arizona and find a corner to stand on

and take and do a video, have a money like yeah, they.

Speaker 6: Have, they have a statue there.

Speaker 1: I want to say, we drove through there. Mike and

Frank and I drove through there on our way to

Grand Canyon. I want to say, you guys Phoenix, right,

I don't remember down. Yeah, well we went to Phoenix

and we met up with Charlie. We went to Mesa

and medical Charlie. But yeah, when we did drive through

Fort Hancock, Texas. Now, what does that mean?

Speaker 5: Short hand?

Speaker 1: That's exactly right, that's where he crossed the border. And

so yeah, yeah, so yeah, yeah, my wife's cousin has

a cabin in Sholo and she's invited us to come

out there. We don't have any hard set plans. We

have kind of like a standing invitation. So I'm like,

let's go to show. So once you guys get moved

out there, Shane, I'll try to get to try to

get something scheduled with that and we'll go dinner one

night or something.

Speaker 6: Yeah, dude, you guys should come out.

Speaker 1: Yeah.

Speaker 7: We uh.

Speaker 12: We found a three bedroom, one bath house for rent

for one thousand dollars less than what we're paying right.

Speaker 6: Now for.

Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, California.

Speaker 12: Yeah, and it's a house. It's like it has like

a little side yard. It's like a put up antenna

and stuff, and I'm just like.

Speaker 1: Nice, you're freaking a smooth out man, Yice very cool.

Speaker 12: And it's it's kind of centrally located in so though

it's not like out in the sticks. It's it's kind

of in the downtown area, so things are within walking

distance or short driving distance. And they have a Walmart,

and they have a home depot, they have a Low's,

they have a Harbor Freight, they have.

Speaker 2: Have an Amazon distribution center there.

Speaker 1: As long as you can, Yeah, if you can get

packages delivered by ups us, you're good.

Speaker 6: You're totally good.

Speaker 1: Everything else range now.

Speaker 7: Yeah, and it probably won't take it three hours to

get five miles down the road.

Speaker 12: No, right, Yeah, it'll take three hours to get to Phoenix.

Speaker 3: But that's that's normal for Phoenix.

Speaker 7: That's okay, going one hundred and eighty miles.

Speaker 12: So, like, what did my lieutenants say? He said, when

you're gonna get somewhere there in thirty minutes, you're gonna

get there in thirty minutes.

Speaker 7: Nice, that's good.

Speaker 1: That's good. Well, Rob's got Rob's gotta jump out. And uh, Paul,

I said, Paul, are you streaming tonight?

Speaker 10: Yeah, I'll casually InterMine when you're done.

Speaker 1: Well, I'm yeah, I think we've been going for an hour.

I said we were gonna cut it short tonight. We

we didn't do that, and that's okay. This has been

a great stream. I appreciate you guys, so so Rob. Yeah,

say you're goodbyes if you want to.

Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, no, just uh, it was a great time.

Thanks everybody here on the stream. I always enjoyed going

to this and yeah, the show is great, but to

hanging with you guys is what it's all about. So

I really appreciate all of you guys going and uh

just being such good people. Where looking forward to.

Speaker 1: It again Springfield, Missouri.

Speaker 6: Okay, I don't jump out.

Speaker 1: I'll see you all right, see Rob later.

Speaker 7: Yeah, we're about Bill than we ever.

Speaker 1: Oh yeah, we know too much about Bill now for sure.

But yeah, on a serious note, sometimes, I mean we

got we got twelve months to the next show, because

it's always in April. We're going to do some We're

gonna do some planning. We're gonna I'm gonna do some

reaching out to vendors and and and uh, other people

that I think might be fit from the show and

might have the show benefit from them, and we're gonna

try to get to get some other stuff going with

the show next year. So it's I think there's a

I think there's a huge opportunity for the amateur radio

market inside of this, and a lot of a lot

of ham radio guys already like off roading, four by four,

camping and whatnot. Anyway, So it's not like I'm trying

to push this on someone who doesn't want to go camping. No,

if you want to go camping, you like this. Let's

get these two hobbies together because they're both great. Totally,

So yeah, totally, I like it.

Speaker 12: That's one thing in Arizona that I got to get

into now because there's a lot of camping and out

and overlanding out there.

Speaker 1: There's a lot of BLM land out there which we

don't have out here. So that's really that's that that

that'll be really cool for you.

Speaker 2: I think, yes, I'm looking forward to that.

Speaker 10: I couldn't afford to buy all everything I wanted for

my tundras, so I had a I put it on

my tundra and this is a picture of it.

Speaker 1: There you go. It's got a nice lift. The first

thing that Tendra has that you need to get. Paul

is some real freaking tires.

Speaker 10: I know, I know, this is really nice. This one

came out. I went through a few of them and

I'm like, okay, I like this one.

Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah that does look good.

Speaker 7: Yeah we'll see.

Speaker 10: Yeah, let me can I show one one picture real

quick though?

Speaker 7: I did absolutely, Yeah, probably the best picture. I'll just

show the screen. Is that what you want me to do?

Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, sure, all right, Yeah.

Speaker 10: I found this one. This is one of the rarest

lines I think that you can get out there.

Speaker 5: You see it?

Speaker 1: Yes?

Speaker 10: Oh yeah, I think this is a trend that's starting.

Speaker 1: It's stuck on broncos. So so so a bronco owner

who's a closet jeep guy.

Speaker 7: Right, it sounds like I'm not mistaken that duck was decapitated.

Speaker 1: Was absolutely decapitated. Yes, actually very true.

Speaker 7: I left it. I put it back up on my

dash with the head dangling, so the head is still

kind of attached, and I'm just gonna leave it on

there for all the people to see.

Speaker 10: What you should have just hung it from your rear

view mirror.

Speaker 6: Yeah, partially decaptain.

Speaker 7: I'm afraid i'd have to use some kind of a

noose and then it would turn into a thing and

yeah the next thing, you know, I need.

Speaker 1: That that might not need that?

Speaker 5: Need that?

Speaker 1: Well, Paul, share the link to your upcoming live stream.

Speaker 10: And I don't know why I'm so red. I am

not burnt, but I might have to reboot or something.

Speaker 1: Tomato, you do look kind of red, yeah, Paul.

Speaker 10: Your beard looks a little darker too, buddy. Yeah, there's

something going on with my cam. I don't know, this

is weird. I'm really red.

Speaker 6: Years ago?

Speaker 1: Do a white balance? Yeah, maybe the white balance?

Speaker 7: So windows did an update. I mean your shirt and

having blue right.

Speaker 10: Oh no, although it could be because of all this

green in the back is green and it's trying to

a gesture.

Speaker 1: Yeah, could be that.

Speaker 7: So yeah, I'm just going to talk about more too.

If anyone wants to join me.

Speaker 6: Just let me know.

Speaker 1: Yeah, Sharon link in the chat man. Great hanging out

with you this week, Paul.

Speaker 6: Yeah.

Speaker 10: I had a great time, guys. Yeah, I did have

the well I posted on YouTube post the group of us.

Tim wasn't there, but everyone else, all the important people

were at the tent when.

Speaker 5: I took that.

Speaker 1: Be sure and do something AI with it before next year.

Speaker 10: Yeah, I gotta get I'll get him.

Speaker 6: Man.

Speaker 7: Last year I had me crab walking or whatever it was.

Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's right.

Speaker 2: We did the group Hug.

Speaker 1: Don't forget the Pug was the group Hug was good. Yeah.

Speaker 10: I can't imagine how much better it would be this year,

just a year later. That AI probably makes it look

more real.

Speaker 1: It could be. Yeah, yeah, yeah, one year later technology right.

So all right, guys, thanks for everyone for hanging with us.

It was a fun trip. We're gonna absolutely do this

again next year. We're gonna get some more Ham Radio

presence in there. If you want to go, you got

a year to plan it. So April of twenty twenty

seven is when it'll be. We'll be talking about it

between now and then. So it's seventy.

Speaker 2: It's a weekend show.

Speaker 1: It's a it's a Friday Saturday show. We go up

there on Wednesday, we camp on Thursday. Sometimes we go

do Poda and then we h we can't. The show's

Friday Saturday, and then we we stay overnight Saturday. We

just pack up go home on Sunday.

Speaker 12: Generally, so I think, yeah, I think this time next

year I might be able to make it work.

Speaker 1: Awesome find posted buddy. Yeah yeah, keep watching the channel,

which I know you will. So seventy three guys. Everyone,

have a good evening and we'll talk this week. Sometime

seventy later, buddy, see you
