A Note About The Adverts
In order to allow us to make these stories we offer a premium subscription and run adverts. The adverts are not chosen by us, but played automatically depending on the platform you listen through (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc) and the country you live in. The adverts may even be different if you listen to the story twice.
We have had a handful of instances where an advert has played that is not suitable for a family audience, despite the podcast clearly being labelled for children. If you’re concerned about an advert you hear, please contact the platform you are listening to directly. Spotify, in particular, has proven problematic in the past, for both inappropriate adverts and the volume at which the adverts play. If you find this happening, please let Spotify know via their Facebook customer care page.
As creators, we want your child’s experience to be a pleasurable one. Running adverts is necessary to allow us to operate, but please do consider the premium subscription service as an alternative – it’s advert free.
Speaker 1: Hey yo, Hello. I'm Josephine and this is the Animal
Tales podcast. There are over one hundred extra stories on
our premium service, with a new one released every Friday,
and this is a taster of another one. To find
out how to become a Premium member, please visit Animaltales
dot uk and remember, for a tiny fee, all the
stories are advert free. Marley is a Premium member from
South Carolina, USA, and she would like a story with
a slothycorn and a green tree frog. Don't forget to
listen to the animal facts after the story to learn
more about these creatures. For now, it's time to sit
back and get comfy. It's time to begin slow down.
Marley awoke five minutes before her alarm went off, just
like she did every morning. Throwing back the blanket, she
hopped out of bed, ready for another busy day. Brushing
her teeth and combing her mane, the unicorn headed straight
for her kitchen to check her schedule for the day.
It was a typical Thursday exercise, shopping, and a couple
of errands, never too much for Marley. With the sun
barely up, Marley went out for her morning trot. It
was always quiet in the neighborhood. At this time, the
Unicorn was usually the first one awake. Her route took
her past the bakery. It wasn't open yet, but Harry,
a black bear, was used to Marley's busy routine and
unlocked the door for her morning Marley, he said, letting
her in. What'll it be to day? Two Iced buns, please,
Marley replied. Harry bagged them up. You know, if you
wait for a few minutes, I've got some delicious cherry
tarts in the oven. I know you like them. He said. Oh,
that does sound lovely, but I can't hang around. Marley replied,
already half out the door. Maybe next time. Harry sighed
that Unicorn was always in a rush. Stuffing one of
the iced buns into her mouth, Marley ran across town
to the recreation center. Her early morning dance class would
be starting shortly. Typically, the Unicorn was the first there,
but the place soon filled up. Marley's friend, Tara, a leopard,
took up a spot next her friend. You missed a
good dance at the end of last week's class, Tara said,
as they did their stretches. Luckily, I think we're doing
a similar dance today. Can you tell me about it
next week, asked Marley. I can't stay until the end
of the class today either. I have to rush off.
In fact, i'd better go now. I don't want to
be late. But we've barely started, pointed out Tara. But
it was too late. Marley never finished the whole class.
Marley's next stop was her great aunt's house. She did
her best to help the older unicorn with anything that
might need doing Auntie Gladys, Marley called as she let
herself in, I've got treats. At the mention of treats,
Auntie Gladys came rolling out of the kitchen as fast
as her wheelchair would allow. Sure know how to butter
me up, said the older unicorn, taking the second iced
bun from her niece. I'm going to go upstairs and
fix that leaky tap, announced Marley as she collected the tools. Okay,
said Auntie Gladys, with her mouth full. Not only did
Marley fix her aunt's leaking tap, but while she was there,
she oiled a squeaky door, cleaned the windows, and watered
the plants. You're an angel, said Auntie Gladys as Marley
came back down I'm just about to prepare some lunch.
Care to join me? Sorry not to day, Marley apologized,
but I promise I'll call in tomorrow. That girl never
stays for food, sighed Auntie Gladys as the front door
banged shut. If you'd like to hear more, please join
