I think that's the last time I saw you when
I went to get lunched, like years ago. When did
you leave there?
Speaker 2: It's been a while.
Speaker 3: Yeah? Which shot do you like better? The one Chipotle
or the one now?
Speaker 2: Yeah?
Speaker 3: Why what's different about that? I get paid more? There
you go? That's plus? Yeah?
Speaker 2: And hours are nice?
Speaker 3: Closed up to every day? Nice? Open on weekends too?
Do you work weekends?
Speaker 1: How many hours do you? Are you full time there
or were you able to pick up like extra time
or not?
Speaker 3: Really? Yeah? I could, but it.
Speaker 2: Work a lot, so you don't worry.
Speaker 3: I want to gotcha? You have a boyfriend?
Speaker 4: Now?
Speaker 3: Was that what I'm understanding? Do you guys live together?
Speaker 1: Yeah?
Speaker 3: Okay? Where do you guys live at? My sister used
to live in all theer Yeah a house, apartment? Apartment? Cool?
Speaker 5: Right off with three eighty five like the apartments right there?
When you get off with three D five and Butler.
Speaker 3: Yeah, nice, how long you've been living there? I want
to stay.
Speaker 6: We moved in twenty.
Speaker 3: Okay, right in the middle of COVID Nice and everything
shut down. Did you have a job during that?
Speaker 1: We actually had to shut down our store. So for
a couple of months, I was on unemployment. I mean,
it shut everything down, it parted. It was scary, it
was it was scary, and like nobody could go to work.
I saw a lot of couldn't work, but a lot
of people didn't. A lot of people got to work
from home. My mom's been worked from home since March
of twenty nine. She's still yeah, still working at homes.
Speaker 3: Does she do to she can't go to it. She
can go to work.
Speaker 5: But because they allow everybody just to everybody went home
in March, right, So they're not having to pay for
internet and the company building.
Speaker 3: They're not having to pay for electricity or any of that.
Speaker 1: So it's just easier and cheaper for the employees to
stay at home and work from home, using their own
WiFi and own energy and all that. So she's been
working from home. Nice going to work for hers walking
up the stairs. It's kind of not fair, but what
your boyfriend.
Speaker 3: Do he works with together? Okay? What does he do there?
He also worked in the kitchen. Okay, you like to cook? Nice?
What's your favorite thing to cook? Yeah? Do you follow
recipes or do you just kind of know it?
Speaker 1: Sometimes I follow recipes, but I'm not the pointing out her.
Speaker 3: It's like I can remember and stuff, and it's like
muscle memory. Really, I never really learned how to cook,
so I just kind of win it. It's been working
for too Yeah.
Speaker 5: Yeah, I got away from like the frozen mules, so
I can actually cook a mule now.
Speaker 2: But you know it took a little bit. Yeah.
Speaker 3: Yeah, they still live here locally.
Speaker 2: Have they moved or just.
Speaker 3: You no, just me just I think they might be
this year. Okay. You guys like the apartment that you're in,
h it's a nice apartment.
Speaker 4: It's just.
Speaker 3: I'm goodness, all apartments now. When I first moved since
the bell, one bedroom was six sixty and now it's
like eleven hundred dollars for our godom, we say twelve.
It's ridiculous. It's more than a mortgage payment. And how
long you guys gonna stay there?
Speaker 2: Are we looking leave?
Speaker 3: We're yeah, we want to leave.
Speaker 1: We really want to buy a house, but he has
like bad credit or renters his share, so if we
were to apply, it would just have to be met.
Speaker 2: So it's kind of hardened.
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's kind of stressful and hard How long How
old are you now? It's been what six years?
Speaker 2: And twenty twenty two?
Speaker 3: Okay? And how old? Boyfriend? He's twenty three, he's about
to be twenty four. Nice you do anything for his birthday?
Speaker 2: His friends?
Speaker 1: He has friends in Miami because that's where he grew up.
And they're gonna come to Cool not gonna go down
to Miami.
Speaker 3: No, I can't take off Okay's school. They're going to
visit home. What are you guys gonna do when they're here?
Speaker 1: I just take them on the ground. They've been here before.
She'll probably just pick them. We took them downtown last time.
Speaker 2: We went to.
Speaker 1: Of the lorings and they did they have like a
really hot wind challenge?
Speaker 3: They yeah, they do, and they did that?
Speaker 2: Did you do it too?
Speaker 4: Now?
Speaker 3: I enjoyed my meal? There you go? Did they get
like the hottest lot of stuff? Did they eat it? Yeah?
Did they hurt afterwards?
Speaker 5: One of his famous turning blue Oh, gosh, dang, I'm
sure they're hurting for a couple of days after all that,
so they're probably not going to do that again.
Speaker 3: Huh, you should suggest it that long? I'm sure a
little I know. No, No, Yeah, that's cool. It's cool
to see have family here your boyfriend? Yeah? Is he
an only child? Or do you have siblings? You get
along with them too?
Speaker 4: Good?
Speaker 3: Older or younger than them? Nice?
Speaker 4: Pretty nice?
Speaker 2: All right?
Speaker 3: Well, I heard you wanted to talk to me.
Speaker 1: I really love calling you multiple times. Scared sorry, Okay,
Well I appreciate that, and I will give you my
work phone number so you can call me whenever. Okay,
clearly I still were here, so you can contact me
whenever you let.
Speaker 2: Okay.
Speaker 5: As with having to a video and audio records you,
I also have to mirandi to you. It doesn't mean
anything other than I'm just allowing you to know what.
Speaker 3: Your rights are. Okay, Hannah.
Speaker 2: What is your full name.
Speaker 3: Elizabeth E O I Z A B T H T
H O M P S O N. And what is
your current address now? And what's your highest grade of education?
M h did you go did you graduate high school? No?
But I did get a grade, so did you get
a g D or high school to poem. Okay, so
eleventh grade. I think technically.
Speaker 4: It's kind of.
Speaker 1: I'll just put eleventh since you didn't get a diploment
with the twelve there, it means you finish your credit
bet eleventh and.
Speaker 3: You can read right. Sorry, hann If you'll do me
a favor, I've got an identical copy over here. I'm
gonna read part of this out loud, and then I'm
going to have you read part of it out loud,
and as we go down all these highlighted areas, I
feel just initial. Okay.
Speaker 1: If you have any questions, feel free to stop me
and I'll explain anything as we got.
Speaker 2: Okay, all right.
Speaker 3: Before we ask you any questions, you must understand your rights.
First one, does you have the right to remain silent
so I can't you can anything can be anything you say?
Speaker 5: Can we used against you in court. You also have
the right to talk to our lawyer for advice before
we ask you any questions, and to have him with
you during questioning.
Speaker 3: If you have no money to pay a lawyer's fee,
the court will point once to represent you without cost
if you wish, and if you decide to answer questions
now without a lawyer present, you will still have the
right to stop answering at any time. You also have
the right to stop answering at any time until you
talk to a lawyer. Do you have any questions about
any of those?
Speaker 4: Okay?
Speaker 1: If you'll initially down next to all of them in
the yellow box, please, all right.
Speaker 5: And then at the bottom on a where it says
waiver of rights, if you'll read that paragraph that love
for me.
Speaker 1: I read this statement of my rights, and I understand
my rights. I'm going to make a statement and answer questions.
I do not want a lawyer out this time. I
understand and know what I'm doing. No promises or that
took be made to me, and no pressure or coersion
and you've kind of been used to conswer.
Speaker 4: Okay.
Speaker 5: The word coersion is highlighted because a lot of people
don't know what it means. You know, the word coersion means.
Speaker 3: Convinced.
Speaker 2: I guess yep.
Speaker 3: So I'm not forcing you to talk to me, you're
bribing you or anything like that.
Speaker 5: All right, if you agree with that, if you'll sign,
and then a where it says signed, and it's highlight.
Speaker 7: And no.
Speaker 2: Oak Man.
Speaker 3: The same waitness it.
Speaker 4: Now Okay, I'll.
Speaker 3: Give you a copy of that before they say okay,
all right, now, well before it is yours. You wanted
to talk to me, so's what do we need to
talk about?
Speaker 4: M hm.
Speaker 3: Basically just trying.
Speaker 6: Two okaying, a bottle of water to get to you.
Speaker 3: So all right, So m why don't we start with
the very beginning?
Speaker 2: Okay?
Speaker 3: And the very beginning could be the day of the incident,
it could be a couple of weeks prior. I want
you to tell me everything.
Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure out where the start of one,
because that's a lot. So basically, I had been hanging
out with John and like.
Speaker 3: Everyone, I looked at his house and.
Speaker 2: Friends and anything like that.
Speaker 3: And why why don't we give you a point of
reference you have.
Speaker 1: For some I guess they people have told me that
you said something about you had to pick him up
at a hospital one time, a couple of weeks before
the incident, So why don't we start there. You tell
me what happened with that, and we kind of go
for work he had I guess Katie had told him
that he that she had a boyfriend or something like that,
and he wanted to go I guess see if she
did see her with him, that she would go in
on a date.
Speaker 3: And wanted me to jump him off, like around her
in mom's house where she was staying up, okay, and leave, and.
Speaker 2: So I did that.
Speaker 3: What was what was the point of that? I guess
she just.
Speaker 2: To she I s, I don't really know.
Speaker 3: You know, he didn't tell me why. He just said
that he wanted to see if you could see with
this guy. Okay, And how often did you do that?
Speaker 2: It was just a long time.
Speaker 1: M hm.
Speaker 3: So you drop him where'd you drop him off at?
I don't really remember exactly where. I just know that
it was close to her mom's house and that he had,
like I guess, walked the rest of the way there.
Speaker 2: Yes, probably not far from whatever.
Speaker 3: Okay, So you dropped him off. How long was he
there for? Well?
Speaker 1: I had gone back to his house and I was
leaving a couple of hours because I thought he had
to me like to wait to give him a mist some.
Speaker 2: Time before I came back there.
Speaker 1: He called me, there's nighttime and he called me from
the hospital phone and was bad because I never came
back to.
Speaker 5: Which hospital the hill Christ one morning, So he walked
from Katie's parents house all the way down to Hillcrestmoral.
Speaker 3: All right, so he calls you you go pick him up?
Speaker 4: Was it?
Speaker 3: I guess it was daytime when he dropped him off
at Katie's as is that correct? It is either still
daytime or like the evening around the other time. Right,
So you go to the hospital and happens picked him
up and then turning back home and he good night
until I found it on the brown.
Speaker 2: Outside when he was walking to the hospital.
Speaker 3: Okay, one of one of the night folks. I don't
really remember.
Speaker 4: I think it was just like.
Speaker 2: What knife? Was it big or small?
Speaker 3: Or like a pocket knife or what?
Speaker 2: Did it look like?
Speaker 3: It was just like a normal like I think it
was just a normal knife like you would used to
kind of speak. But it wasn't like a butter knife
or something like that.
Speaker 2: It was a sharp knife.
Speaker 3: And he said, you think it would have a black candle?
I think. So did it come in a case or anything?
Speaker 1: M hm?
Speaker 2: From what I understand, he just it was just on.
Speaker 3: The ground outside. And you said, he find it on
the way to the hospital. Okay, so he shows you
the knife and then oh, h did you just go
back home.
Speaker 6: And kah.
Speaker 4: After that?
Speaker 2: That's just like something that stuck up to me.
Speaker 3: Okay.
Speaker 1: Did he say why he picked up the knife or
where did he have the knife on him when he
took it out of showing m M.
Speaker 3: I don't remember, probably in his pocket.
Speaker 2: Mkay.
Speaker 3: Did he say why he picks it up or did
he say anything else about the knife?
Speaker 2: H okay, it is to me, it's just seemed like
he picked it up because you know, I just see
like a knife leaning on the ground outside. M okay.
Speaker 3: So what do you remember after that?
Speaker 1: M h okay, kay, Yeah, So the next thing I
remember after that. I don't know how much time between
these two contines happened, but one day he told me
to get in the car with them, and he drove
out to like I want to say it was like
a field, but it was just like away from his
house basically, And.
Speaker 3: Then he told me that he wanted to complete what
were his words exactly?
Speaker 2: Do you remember?
Speaker 3: I had just shrug.
Speaker 2: And didn't kind of like weird, he drove away from
the house, and I don't know why he.
Speaker 1: Would have Just like if you were gonna say that,
I wouldn't need to say it and his house, so
he would do stuff like that often.
Speaker 3: He would do well often just like really weird, like
almost like he's really paranomic kind of stuff.
Speaker 2: So I didn't think much of it.
Speaker 3: And I'd heard him say that before, so I didn't
really think like.
Speaker 2: Anything of it.
Speaker 3: And he told me that he wanted to do and
he wanted me to help. I guess whatever he called
just be there and like do.
Speaker 2: Whatever he was telling me to do.
Speaker 1: Did he how did he specify how he wanted to
kill him? How did he articulate how you were going
to help?
Speaker 3: He didn't? Okay, do you remember the field? Do you
remember where the field was? I want to say like
that it wasn't.
Speaker 8: Far from his house, and it was just the two
of you guys, okay. And he said he had said
this to you multiple times?
Speaker 4: Is that correct?
Speaker 3: Not just to me, but like just in general, just
mentioning that, like that's something that he was gonna do
or wanted to do. Was there a motive behind it?
Speaker 2: What was the reason?
Speaker 1: I already him mentioned some time about your life, intrench money,
getting at and splitting it. Whoever, Now, when.
Speaker 3: He told me that he didn't mention it Okay. Do
you know about how long before the incident that that
conversation occurred where he took it to food? Um hmm,
I want to say. I want to say maybe like
a week or two? Okay, Okay, what else do you remember?
Speaker 1: I go to work with him that day, like I
wouldn't go, came out early to his car. He told
me that he needed to go take him and drop
him off Katie's work. And have you ever done that before?
Speaker 3: So you've never liked because I know you're driven at
King's parents house, but have you ever driven into King's
work before?
Speaker 2: Okay?
Speaker 3: And so that's why we drove to the road and
he had me part kind of away from her job
and he said he's gonna walk over there. Where'd your
park from? I think it was at the lead stopped?
Speaker 2: Okay, I say it was there.
Speaker 4: Hm.
Speaker 3: What was the plan?
Speaker 1: Like you were supposed to drop him off at her work?
And then what was the plan after he dropped him off?
I think he had told me to go home. I
did go, but he told me that he was gonna
go to Katie's car, and he said that he was
gonna wait for her car and whenever, like he told
me to see if to wait until I saw them
leave in her car together. By I never saw them leave,
so I just left home. I don't really remember how
long I was or I don't think it was. And
so whenever I didn't see them leave, they're probably just
talking in the country from where you parked, because you
see Katie's car in the parking lot. Okay, so how
are you supposed to see them leave them?
Speaker 3: I guess like if they were driving, how to see
them that I didn't, okay, seem so then I went home.
Speaker 2: And I went to tie.
Speaker 3: Chrystals there in Brandon there and you were sitting in
the kitchen mm hmm. Still told me that she John
pull in the car or I can't remember she said
she's John Katie.
Speaker 2: She just said that. I'm trying to remember. She's gonna
tell you. I feel like I do remember her saying that.
Speaker 3: She saw Katie's car pulling through the driveway and then
like pull out, drive away, and.
Speaker 1: I think we were talking about if it was John,
if it was Katie, or like if it was trying
or somebody.
Speaker 9: Yeah, I don't really remember that. I guess the conversation
that that crazy. I just remember that she saw the
car program.
Speaker 3: And how long had you been home for when it happened?
Speaker 1: Okay, okayse car comes in the driveway and goes out,
and then what happens?
Speaker 3: Mhm.
Speaker 1: I go outside and get in the car, and I
don't remember leaving, but I feel like I might have
left started driving back to the underfron but I don't
remember doing that. I just don't want to say something
that I have and something happened, okay, And I just
remember dancing. I remember John and regarding.
Speaker 2: Out of him house, but I don't remember if like.
Speaker 1: The first time he comes out he has the trash backs,
or if he comes out first and says something to
me and then goes back in.
Speaker 4: The trash backs.
Speaker 3: That's what I remember. Next, when you saw him, what
did he look like?
Speaker 4: He was.
Speaker 3: Sweaty, He's wearing like different clothes from when he dropped him.
Speaker 2: Off, And.
Speaker 3: That's fuck. Okay, No, what happens? He has he has
how many trash bags?
Speaker 2: How do you just like one or two?
Speaker 3: So he comes out with the trash bags and then
what do you guys do? Did he put them in
the car? And he tells me to just drive and
so we pull up we drive, and then we're like
driving and tell him to turn.
Speaker 1: Yes, I turn out here, and then when I turn
to like this big then you're like a no one
firing myself in case his car there, and he just
tells me that he needs gonna following.
Speaker 2: Okay, and it's the car.
Speaker 3: He gets a case car mm hm. He drives driving
following him. Yah. At this point, like I don't really
know what's going on, but I remember you're just happening
like kind.
Speaker 1: Of a bad feeling, so I just I'm still just
like doing what you us like telling me to do,
driving following him. We drive for I feel like we
should do for a pretty long time because he was
like not taking highways or anything like that.
Speaker 3: He was going.
Speaker 4: Sides and stuff like that.
Speaker 3: And I fell into a parking lot h and R
next to him.
Speaker 4: M hmm.
Speaker 3: I don't Maybe I don't.
Speaker 1: Remember if he took the trash bags out of the
car I drove and put them in Katy's car or not.
Speaker 3: I don't know. That's kind of funny too, but I
do remember taking off the license play.
Speaker 4: The Katy's car in the car.
Speaker 10: But again, and who's on the car that I drove
His car, and when he got it, that's I remember
that the bags.
Speaker 1: I don't remember if he also put those in his
car or if they were still just sorting.
Speaker 3: What was significant about taking the license by the whole
Katy's car. I just that's just something I knew this
that he didn't when he got in the car he
had the license. Did he explain anything as to what
he was doing as far as a license?
Speaker 2: Because m M.
Speaker 3: And then do you remember where you park the car?
He said, a parking lot, but do you remember which one? Okay?
M M. Then we drive and I believe the parking
lot and driving he's the one that I just knows
where we're at and knows how to get back home.
Speaker 2: So he's telling me that those to go we are.
Speaker 3: And he he says that we need to find a
dumbst to throw like the treash oy.
Speaker 2: And so we're driving.
Speaker 1: I think we're sensing on now and we're passing by
like the glocks, you know, we're like with the there's
like a pet supply store today and that's where there's
the trash away at the dumpster behind her. I guess
the dumpster that they use.
Speaker 3: Was it the dumpster in the big lots parking lot
or the dumpster and the dog supply the.
Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 3: And then actually he did he threw my car keys
to work in.
Speaker 2: I think it was the other.
Speaker 3: Dumpsterp So you stopped at two different dumpsters, okay, I
just remember. Was that a big dumpster or like one
of the little small containers like at the front door
or what kind of I think it's just a kind
of okay, So keys came first, and then you went
through the trash bags away across the street.
Speaker 2: I I don't remember very much.
Speaker 3: And what was John saying when during like He's just
like going, need to go through this way here, and
then you implover this one and I didn't. I don't
know why the podd ask or anything like that.
Speaker 4: I just.
Speaker 2: Wanted to do.
Speaker 4: Too.
Speaker 3: I didn't want to disappoint him when you were following
him and he was in Katie's car. What kind of
communication did you have with John, if at all during
that drive. I don't think we have any communication.
Speaker 4: I just followed him.
Speaker 3: What kind of communication did you have a John between
when he dropped him off at Phoetie's job and when
he saw him back at his house. I don't really.
I don't think we had any, but I feel like
I do kind of remember.
Speaker 2: Talking to them.
Speaker 3: I think I did leave the house to.
Speaker 2: Start driving towards where I dropped him off.
Speaker 1: Pone with her throat, And then he was at the
house and called me from his phone and told you.
Speaker 3: What he was like, where are you?
Speaker 2: I think that is what he said.
Speaker 3: I don't know work for so I did that?
Speaker 4: Okay?
Speaker 3: Did he have any weapons of any kind on him
when he dropped him off at the Kat's job?
Speaker 1: I don't know. Did you see any weapons in his
car when you were because you stayed in his car
while he went to work, right, so you were in
his car for a significant period of time while he.
Speaker 2: Was at his job.
Speaker 1: Did you see any type of weapons or anything like
that in the car while you were in there waiting
for him to get done work.
Speaker 3: Was he known to carry any weapons? Because I know
he was just a recruiter, But did he normally carry
like anything on him?
Speaker 2: What did he carry?
Speaker 3: He would carry like none, She would carry like a
gun with them.
Speaker 2: Those are the only things I could remember him happened.
Speaker 3: Okay, what do you remember him having that day when
he went to work?
Speaker 2: I don't know, there's the average that I remember that.
Speaker 3: Yeah, those are instinctions, because he would like full new number.
Speaker 2: Show them.
Speaker 1: When you see a pocket knife, you mean like a
flip pocket knife. And all right, so let me just
make sure I get this straight. You drop him off
at Katie's job, but you don't drop him off right
in front, and you park at the wingstops.
Speaker 3: That correct. You don't have visual sight of their car,
but you wait around a little bit and hope you
see them pass by and do it. What was the
plan did he what? What kind of stuff did he
tell you? Okay, well, when I go to PetSmart, it's
going to be X amount of time before you should
see us drive off together. What was How do you
know that he was even supposed to be in the
car with Katie? He just totally mean that they he
was gonna go somewhere with her. Where tell.
Speaker 2: And why did he say that?
Speaker 1: Well, he had told me before prior to that. I
don't know if she looks like him, but they wanted
to talk to go somewhere and talk.
Speaker 3: About what and okay, and so I thought that that's
why he wanted me to take Have they ever gone
somewhere together just to talk after she moved out that
I don't know that great?
Speaker 5: Did he tell you where he was gonna go? Have
you got in the card Katie? Because Katie had a
new car right then?
Speaker 3: She got a new car after she moved out? How
did John know what Katie's marble like? He had me
leave because I had gone to work with him on
a different day and he had leave to go she
I could find out what car she drove And how
did you do that? He told me where her mom
lived and drove there, just looked for He told me
to look for a car that had a new license
plate and not like a temporary license playing crazy. He
drove to Katy's mom's house.
Speaker 2: And what did you see?
Speaker 3: I saw a black car with like a green.
Speaker 2: Dealer tad kind of thing.
Speaker 3: Okay? And how did you relay that information to John?
I told him?
Speaker 1: I think.
Speaker 3: Told him did you take a picture of the car
or anything like that? I don't think so, I don't
And why did John tell you to do that?
Speaker 1: She just wanted to know because she whenever he found
out that she had a new party, that really mad
And that's she got that from my money and so
I just felt like.
Speaker 2: You just wanted to know that she feels like a
nice caller.
Speaker 1: And was that before or after he took him to
his mom's house or her mom's house to see by
the boyfriend?
Speaker 4: Okay?
Speaker 1: And that was when he when he went to work
one day, you just took his car and went over
to Katy's mom's house.
Speaker 2: Okay.
Speaker 3: And when you told him what kind of car she
drove besides the hole, that's my money that she bought
that with, what else did you say?
Speaker 4: Okay?
Speaker 3: Have you guys seen Katie's car at PetSmart in the
parking lot before you've parked to drop him off, Like,
did you go through the parking lot or anything like that?
Speaker 2: Okay?
Speaker 3: How did he know Katie was working with me? I
think he may Okay? Right, So you leave from Winging
Stop and you go home and you don't have any
communication with John whatsoever, right, all right?
Speaker 2: And then you leave to go back.
Speaker 3: A little while later, and that's when John calls you
from the house and says, come back home. Okay.
Speaker 2: So then you go home.
Speaker 3: And tell me again when you went back home what happened?
And you were driving John's car that was burked was
that the Yukon or the Okay? Where was the yukon
at this point? He either parked it behind the house okay?
Was it still behind the house when you followed him
when he went to go pick the Katie's car that
was behind the house in the water area. I don't know.
I didn't like to see it or checked or anything.
Speaker 2: Okay.
Speaker 3: So you pull up in his press and what happens
to go back through that?
Speaker 4: For me?
Speaker 3: He comes down the house. I didn't get out of
the car, and he come down to the house. I don't.
I don't remember if he has the back to chuck
together or not. You just come to the house, yeah.
Speaker 1: M.
Speaker 3: He tells me.
Speaker 1: He gets in the car with the trash, and then
he tells me to drive. And so if you're pulling,
if you're backing out of his driveway, do you.
Speaker 3: Go up to the main road?
Speaker 2: Okay?
Speaker 3: So you technically kind of make a right and go
up to the main road after you backed out of
his driveway. Then when you get to the main road,
right there is it left or right left? Okay? And
then he said it was behind his house, So do
you make another left to go back up behind his house?
And it's not even it wasn't I don't even think
it's like a road like, it's just like a path, okay.
And there's this big, like open area.
Speaker 10: And so in the pas car thinking that he okay,
there ran over that house and that's why he was
like sweating, okay, And then you got.
Speaker 3: You followed him with no communication, and then he barks
the car, got the license plate off.
Speaker 2: What did you do with the license plate?
Speaker 3: H I think he also threw that away, but I
don't kay. Was there an additional dumpster or was it
just the two dumpsters? I'm pretty sure it was just
the two. So he throws away the keys and the
license plate and the trash. What's in the trash flights?
I don't know for sure. But actually I have an
idea because he told me that.
Speaker 4: He told me that.
Speaker 3: He did he tell you that that day when he
was throwing him away. I don't remember. I just remember
feeling that, Yeah, when he threw the clothes away or
the bags away, did you know at that point in
time what was in the bags? Okay?
Speaker 1: So you throw the bags away, threw the keys away.
Somewhere in there, he throws out the license plate and
you're driving the whole time, right, So he's one getting
an out of car.
Speaker 2: Okay, then what happened?
Speaker 3: We go home? I think we're going all I remember
after that did so he wanted to go give to
the actors, and.
Speaker 1: He said that Scott was gonna mead us there and
should we like one in time date? And then Scott
came there. Yeah, and then I just remember leaving and
I had gotten in the car and I don't remember
if he got.
Speaker 3: In the car or not that he remember to talk
to the Scott. So did Scott go with in the
restaurant with you guys? I don't I don't know, really,
I don't remember. Did you talk to Scott that day?
I don't think so, Okay, what were Hid and Scott
talking about? He had parked like a couple of cars
from where we had, and so John went over there too.
How long were they communicating?
Speaker 4: I don't know.
Speaker 3: I don't feel like it was that one.
Speaker 2: Okay.
Speaker 3: So then John gets back in the car and okah,
the next thing.
Speaker 1: I remember is someone calling John like asking if he
was heard from Katie.
Speaker 3: Who was that? I want to say it was shy
and music this time, I know, I don't.
Speaker 2: Remember that he said no. I mean I think he
said that. It was a conversation, but I just remember
he said no, and.
Speaker 3: I remember what And then the next day, I think
she calls him again says what kind of communication do you?
And genre about what just transpired? Oh? I remember.
Speaker 1: I mean I feel like I must have asked him
that's the point, what like where did you go? But
I just don't remember exactly the conversation. Okay, But I
remember like the day where everybody was from, and I
had woken up some morning.
Speaker 2: And wall, no, I do.
Speaker 3: I do remember the conversation.
Speaker 1: I because they were calling him asking them if Heston
Cady or anything like that, and I was like, please
tell me that you didn't do it, and he said
he didn't do it, and I was like okay. And
then right after that he asked me like he was like,
will you marry me? And that's about the conversation.
Speaker 2: But then the next.
Speaker 3: There that thereafter that's where our body was from, and
I I think I asked him about it, did you?
I think I said did you.
Speaker 1: Basically asked him if he did do it. I just
can't remember day exact four.
Speaker 3: Days, But.
Speaker 2: What was the response and.
Speaker 3: Oh, and then he was like, I need to go
to work.
Speaker 2: I'm going to take you to Kimmandy's house.
Speaker 3: M HM.
Speaker 1: Said okay, because he I was gonna go home, but
he didn't want my parents to see him and was
dropping me off from my house. So he took me
to like Kman his neighborhood, and dropped me off there,
and then my mom, I think I was gonna come
pick me up to him. And while I was with
Kimanie like he can't.
Speaker 3: To come out and talk to me? Was tim My
Trian had called him and I could hear your crying
on the phone, and that's.
Speaker 1: What I kind of felt like something was really wrong,
that God had did something. When it was the next
time you saw John after he dropped you, I don't
really remember say excited the next time I saw him.
Speaker 3: The next thing I remember with the timeline, it's just
like coming to talk to you guys. What kind of
conversations did you have with John when you guys were
coming to talk to us on those days.
Speaker 1: I just remember him telling me like not to say anything,
not to like tell anybody anything. Why that's just what
he said, And I told him, Okay, he well, he
he did say that, like he's gonna be anomer one suspect.
And why was that he said it because of like
their issue. You just yeah, just to me not to
say anything. He's like, you don't have to will say
anything to them.
Speaker 2: I felt that.
Speaker 3: Sure, I'm sorry at that point in time. I appreciate
that at that point in time.
Speaker 2: Did you know exactly what?
Speaker 3: I let me rephrase that. When did you find out
what exactly happened?
Speaker 1: I think it had told me when we were already
like on the run. Okay, So when we communicate with
details and stuff. Okay, So when we were talking to
you guys, what did you know at that point other
than what you helped him do?
Speaker 3: I mean, I had a feeling, but I didn't he never.
Speaker 1: Really said it, okay, So I just knew like what
had happened, like the days before for it.
Speaker 4: Okay, m hmm.
Speaker 3: So we communicate with you guys, are you okay under Okay?
It's hard to.
Speaker 4: Think back on this.
Speaker 5: Well, this is a perfect opportunity to get all over
all all over my mouth, right all off your chest,
so we don't have to keep going in circles, right,
and you're doing the right thing.
Speaker 11: By coming and telling us, Okay, after we communicated with
you guys, you guys went on a run.
Speaker 3: Right. How did that come to be? M hmm, I remember,
I just remember, so I don't. I don't really remember.
Speaker 1: Exactly everything that happened. I guess in order just there's
certain things that stick out to me and I or
him telling me like not t inser my phone or
to turn it off or both.
Speaker 2: I don't know which one, but m he said that
he was like, we.
Speaker 3: Have to go. You have to come with me. He
said that.
Speaker 1: That you guys were going to be looking at me too,
not just him. So he was basically saying like we
have to, like I have to go, and you have
to go with me.
Speaker 2: So we pack up like his car. He packs most
of them like stuff.
Speaker 3: He thinks that we're gonna meet and.
Speaker 2: So we do that we need.
Speaker 1: He says that you have a friend from the military.
He said that we could park the car like at
his house and soep in out there on his property overnight.
Speaker 3: And then we also went to Columbia at the base
there and we like parked by the parking out there,
and I had something in the car. We also went
to Spartanburg and parked the car and something in At
another time, and when we were at the base in Columbia,
he went to like going to the stores that they
have there. He said he had a credit card or
something like that.
Speaker 1: He went and he bought a bunch of camping stuff,
hiking stuff, clothes, camping clothes, just like like things like that.
I don't know.
Speaker 3: That's when he also bought me that ring that he
gave me that I or when I came back here
and he said that he like he also bought gift cards,
a bunch of.
Speaker 1: Gift cards to like different restaurants, and I feel like
he also got like Vicent cards too, and.
Speaker 3: He said he spent all the money on the card.
He MAXT. So we had all this stuff for like
camping hiking stuff like that.
Speaker 1: Then he didn't buy a phone. I just don't really
remember like when he bought the phone in a relationship
tell all this that it was before we left the state.
Speaker 3: He had.
Speaker 2: Okay phone.
Speaker 3: It was just like like a phone you would buy
a phone Walmart, like one.
Speaker 2: Of those like prepaid phones.
Speaker 3: I don't know if I hadn't if you had a
five minutes for it or not, or if he was
using it wi Fi. I'm sure, but.
Speaker 2: He was using it and.
Speaker 3: I would also use it to talk to my mom
for like the first little bit that we were gone.
Speaker 4: M hm.
Speaker 3: So is there any questions about do you know the
phone number that you were communicating? No?
Speaker 2: Okay, how are you communicating with?
Speaker 3: You're wrong with your Facebook? Or like what we I'm
pretty sure it was through like text messages, and I
think she in might like we.
Speaker 1: Might have talked like on the phone, but I don't
really remember if that was like through the phone or
through like an apple.
Speaker 3: Okay.
Speaker 5: And so during this strip is when you find out
about what happened? Is that my understanding? Okay, tell me
about that conversation. So basically, I don't remember if I
asked him again if he did it, or if he
comes out and just says, like, do you want to
know how I did it? Basically he just tells me, ye,
how he did it. But he did after I said,
like the scene, he told me like what she said
when he was doing it to her?
Speaker 2: Tell me what he said?
Speaker 4: Hmmmm, he said that.
Speaker 1: I don't remember if she's the one that sent this
to him or if he like parted up to her,
but she basically at first told him like we can't
have sex because I'm on my period.
Speaker 3: And then he says that they were talking for a
little bit. He doesn't say like exactly the conversation. You
just said they were talking, and then he said that
they're about me, and then he just did it, and
he said that he stabbed her in her neck and
that there was a lot of blood. And instead when
he stabbed her, she said out.
Speaker 1: And and she told him that if he lets her go,
she won't say anything to anybody.
Speaker 2: And I don't really remember if I.
Speaker 3: At some point they were like on the trail leading
up to the abandoned house.
Speaker 2: He told me that's where they went, also that he
took her there, and.
Speaker 1: But he said that like blood hasn't gotten on the trail,
and he tried to like kick dust and stuff.
Speaker 3: And leaves over it, like kind of just get rid
of it.
Speaker 2: I guess.
Speaker 3: So I don't remember if like they were in the
house when he did, or if they were like walking
away from the house when he did. I just remember,
and I just told you, And then he told me
that he dragged her.
Speaker 2: He told me that when drag her, like her clothes.
Speaker 1: Came off, and then he told me, like I remember,
after that is some telling me what he did was
her phone?
Speaker 2: And what would that again?
Speaker 1: He told me through it in water, So I don't
know if there was just like a puddle of water
down in the basement.
Speaker 2: That's what he told me.
Speaker 3: What did he tell you about the ride from PetSmart
to the abandon remember?
Speaker 1: And then did he tell you how he stabbed her
or where he was in relation to her or any
specific details.
Speaker 3: I just know that he stopped her. Okay, you know
he stabbed her? What? All right? But do you know
like a knife from his house was the knife he
found on the ground, Like where the knife come from?
Speaker 2: Okay?
Speaker 3: So the day that you picked him up at the hospital,
that knife that he found is the one that he
stabbered with.
Speaker 2: Okay?
Speaker 3: What did he tell you that he.
Speaker 2: Did with the weapon?
Speaker 3: After his chapter I, I don't remember what he told me.
He said that it broke and that's it. So I remember,
I don't know. It's like I've said before, like what
he didn't But at this point they say how it broke?
Speaker 2: What broke?
Speaker 4: He told me that.
Speaker 3: He just told me that it broke.
Speaker 2: Off in so I guess like half of the music
and the other half broke off. Mkay.
Speaker 3: And how did he driver? I don't Yeah, you don't
remember him saying how a driver? And where did he
drive her to?
Speaker 1: I don't remember if he starting to the house in
the basement, okay, because I don't remember if it happened
inside outside. And tell me about the conversation where he
said he got blood all over schools.
Speaker 3: He told me that he had blowed over his clothes
and that he had to throw them all.
Speaker 2: In the trash backs.
Speaker 3: And he said that that he was wearing some clothes
that Scott had left at his house when he actually
killed her. So here's where Scott's clothes when he killed her? Okay?
Was that what he was wearing when you dropped him off?
Speaker 1: I didn't know if there Scott's He didn't say that
there were spots clues.
Speaker 3: Did he have a bag or any came with him
when you dropped him off at Katy's job. He changed
clothes in the car because he was writing his uniform.
Speaker 2: He changed into.
Speaker 3: Did he have another bag or anything like that? When
he left you to go to Katy's work? Joe thinks, okay,
and So what.
Speaker 4: What what?
Speaker 1: What do you guys talk about afterwards? Like what is
what does he tell you after he tells you all that?
Like what did you say in relation to that conversation?
Speaker 3: What did you say to him after he tells you this?
Because you guys are traveling, right, you're out of the state.
Speaker 1: It's just you and him in the car at this point,
and now you just find out where he confirms what
you already suspected that he killed his ex or his
ex wife soon to be ex wife, whatever it was
at the time. So do you ask to go home
him at this point? Do you or do you still
stay with him? Obviously you stayed with him.
Speaker 2: Okay, I don't.
Speaker 3: Really know what.
Speaker 1: I guess because like what he had just told me,
So think that's why that's why I remember that, But
I don't remember what we talked about after that. Okay,
I'm just trying to ask questions to kind of maybe
you refresh your memory and that that was helping me.
Speaker 3: I mean, I know it's been a while.
Speaker 4: So when.
Speaker 3: Does he tell you not to say anything to anybody?
Does he tell me how does he communicate, Hey, this
is what I did, but then trust you not to
tell somebody. I I think he thought that I had
helped him in a way, like driving a car.
Speaker 1: And like coping and disposed with like rivers in those bags,
like I know, the closes run over.
Speaker 3: There could have been like other.
Speaker 1: Ships in there, stuff that he threw away. Like I
felt like he knew that since I was involved, that
I wouldn't say anything.
Speaker 2: Did he tell you that?
Speaker 3: No, he just told me, like later on when we
were on the run.
Speaker 1: That.
Speaker 3: I'm gonna go to jail. So I knew that that's
probably why he.
Speaker 4: Was thinking that, because.
Speaker 1: That's why I think that he had me even do
that for him in the first place, was to keep
me like from telling anybody to get too involved. And
now you're fraid the same.
Speaker 4: It sucks.
Speaker 3: Has he ever been violent towards you, either verbally or physically?
Speaker 4: Okay?
Speaker 3: When when was that?
Speaker 2: And what happened.
Speaker 3: We were it was whenever he crashed the car, and
that was that itself, was like.
Speaker 7: I was in danger like he I feel like when
he crashed the car, if he was checking to kill
me or vocals because he was just driving like into treats,
like full of speed, just like so.
Speaker 3: Fast and we were hitting stuff. That I was really
I got scared like at that point that like I
was gonna die. And then that night whenever he but
the car got stuck.
Speaker 2: Eventually he couldn't move it anymore. So we slept in
the car that night.
Speaker 1: Everything, and he before I remember, before I went to bed,
he told me he was like, I'm thinking about letting
the car run all night so that we both die
in our sleep. And then the next morning he he
had taken a gun with him like when we left,
and he the next morning he said he really thought
about shooting me in my sleeping and shooting himself, like
the night prior, like he thought about doing that and
dinning seconds. So then I was pretty scared, like it
does when I started to get a little bit scared
of him, it was just like I felt like I
made a mistake by coming with him.
Speaker 2: When I started to feel like that, which sucks.
Speaker 3: Because he had already told me what he did. But
has he ever threatened their harmony and any other like?
After that, there was another time where I told him.
Speaker 1: I wanted to leave and go back come back home
to my mom because I missed my family, and he
he started yelling at me like and we were in public,
and he started yelling at me and screaming and like
calling me bad words and getting in my face, and
he kind of raised his arm back and I thought
that he was gonna hit me, and I punched away
from him, and he got from.
Speaker 3: That that I did that like that I touched away
from him and he started yelling more. And then after
that like he.
Speaker 1: I remember telling him like I'm sorry, like I'm not
gonna be him, like I just remember apologizing, like things
went back to like he went back to normals.
Speaker 3: So those are those are like two times that really
stuck up. Did he ever tell you not to tell anybody?
M Were there consequences if he did tell anybody?
Speaker 1: Yeah, he told me that. We especially told me not
to trust like anybody. And then he told me not
to tell anybody because since I'm involved, like it will
be earning me.
Speaker 3: You're not him.
Speaker 12: He told me that he whenever I was back home,
and he told me that if I didn't come to
save him, that he was.
Speaker 3: Gonna tell everybody that I did it or that it
was my idea and stuff like that. He didn't come
save him. Where was he at that he wanted to
save him?
Speaker 2: I don't remember.
Speaker 1: I just know he was still like on the run,
and he wanted me to like buy a van or
something and eventually drive out to like pick him up
and then have him lived with me somewhere.
Speaker 3: Is that when he went out to Texas? You know,
I went out to Texas.
Speaker 1: I was gonna move to Colorado, and I had told
him about that. He wanted to come there, and I
was gonna allow him.
Speaker 3: To come here and we were going to live there,
and then I didn't like when I got to Texas.
Speaker 1: I was just thinking about everything, and I really didn't
want to meet up.
Speaker 3: With something Like I didn't want him to go there.
Speaker 2: I was scared, and so I came back.
Speaker 5: So you were headed to Colorado to have apartment, and
then you came back home and when you hit Texas?
How are you communicating with John at that point?
Speaker 4: I have.
Speaker 1: Different So.
Speaker 3: We have been talking loule time.
Speaker 1: My last time I talked to him, I I've told
like them, but I feel like it's twenty nineteen. But
I'm not sure if it's twenty nineteen or like at
the beginning of twenty twenty, Like I'm not I don't
know for sure.
Speaker 2: The very last like time, Okay?
Speaker 3: Was it more recent than that? And I know what
you told them okay, And you've reached out to talk
to me to tell me the truth, and I feel
like you been being honest with me thus far.
Speaker 4: Okay.
Speaker 3: John is not a good person, obviously, and we are
trying desperately to find him.
Speaker 2: Okay.
Speaker 3: So if if it was yesterday he spoke with him,
if it was two weeks ago he spoke with him,
we need to know that, Okay. It's it's not any
different in my mind if you spoke with him twenty
minutes before you walked in the door today or two
years ago. But we're still looking for and he needs
to be held responsible.
Speaker 2: For what he's done, Okay.
Speaker 3: So I'm gonna ask you again, and I want the full,
honest truth, okay, because I don't want to do this
in another six years where you come back and tell me, well,
I actually was talking to him the day before I
talked to you, Okay.
Speaker 1: So if it was yesterday, if it was two weeks ago,
if it was a year ago, five months ago, I
need to know the very last time you spoke with
him and what that conversation is about. I I agree
really really really feel like it was in twenty nineteen.
I don't remember the exact I've like time. I just
feel like it was in twenty nineteen at the like
for six months of it, I don't remember, Like I know,
I'm giving like a really broad time, but that's just
I don't want to give any.
Speaker 3: Like misinformation because I know that this is really really
serious and that.
Speaker 2: I really wouldn't that would know this.
Speaker 4: And we.
Speaker 1: Had been talking less, Like at first, we were talking
every single day, multiple times, like for hours a day,
and we've been talking less at this point, and so
I I was the one that stopped communication with him.
Speaker 3: Now you've listened, Now go to your thing
