Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to your true crime podcast. In Everett, Washington,

officers investigated a young child's disappearance after finding a large

pool of blood at an apartment where the child and

his mother had been staying. The episode follows police communications

and a phone interview with the mother as officers tried

to locate the child.

Speaker 2: What's going on today with you? And like, sounds like

the cops have been talking to you already.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 2: So, my, um, so, I... You got some blood drops

on your shoes.

Speaker 4: Yeah. Okay.

Speaker 2: So, my son fell this morning earlier.

Speaker 5: Oh, no.

Speaker 6: Yeah, but I was able to take him to the

doctors and everything was okay.

Speaker 7: I thought I was getting relief. Oh, it's a little confusing.

Speaker 2: I get it.

Speaker 5: My name's Austin Lane, I'm from the police.

Speaker 7: I just got to let you know, you've been on

a video recorder.

Speaker 4: What's going on?

Speaker 2: Well, my sister, I mean, she's been on the loose,

I guess. She's been doing drugs or whatever.

Speaker 8: My mom's been trying to fight for the guardianship, I guess,

or the custody, whatever's going on.

Speaker 2: And, well, she's been missing for a couple days.

Speaker 9: And we got one.

Speaker 2: We picked him up from school.

Speaker 8: And I guess my mom has a restraining order against her,

so she can't go pick.

Speaker 2: Up the son because she's really bad.

Speaker 7: Okay.

Speaker 8: But she had another son. His name was Ariel Garcia.

And he was staying here.

Speaker 5: Is this her apartment?

Speaker 2: No, it's not. It's a friend's apartment. Okay.

Speaker 8: Yeah, well, it's an ex-boyfriend's mom, if that makes sense.

Speaker 2: Okay.

Speaker 4: Yeah.

Speaker 2: So she stayed here. The lady had left to work.

Speaker 8: And then whenever she came back to work, she saw

a big old spot of blood.

Speaker 2: Would you like to see the picture?

Speaker 3: Sure, sure.

Speaker 5: What's your sister's name?

Speaker 9: Janet.

Speaker 10: J-A-N-E-T.

Speaker 9: So Janet.

Speaker 5: Last name? Percy. Does she have a middle name? Yeah.

Speaker 2: Do you need the full one?

Speaker 7: Just the initial.

Speaker 5: Oh, E. E.

Speaker 7: Do you know her date of birth?

Speaker 2: 4-29- 1996.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 2: And then, well, that's the blood that was in her

living room. That's what she showed me.

Speaker 9: And then, well.

Speaker 7: She said this was from her kid or something?

Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what she said. She said it was from

the kid. She said that.

Speaker 7: So Janet said that?

Speaker 2: No. So she told her, yeah. She sent her a

message because she was worried about the kid.

Speaker 5: Yeah.

Speaker 2: So she kept sending her a message and she wouldn't answer.

And then as she answered, she answered one time.

Speaker 8: She said that her kid fell and that she took

him to the hospital. So I don't know. We can't

get a hold of her at the moment.

Speaker 2: I got no clue, honestly.

Speaker 5: Does Janet have a good phone number or anything?

Speaker 2: I could ask.

Speaker 11: I'm sorry.

Speaker 2: I'm just real nervous.

Speaker 7: You're fine. Have you knocked on the door today? The

kid's not there.

Speaker 2: No.

Speaker 7: And so this was yesterday that They saw the blood?

Speaker 2: I guess the blood happened earlier today.

Speaker 7: Earlier today, and they've been gone since.

Speaker 4: Hello?

Speaker 7: Give me a sec.

Speaker 9: What's the phone number? 425-780- And that's her personal.

Speaker 7: Her personal.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 7: And then what's her son's name?

Speaker 9: Her son's name is Ariel.

Speaker 2: A-R-I-E-Y.

Speaker 9: A-R-I-E-Y?

Speaker 12: Yeah.

Speaker 2: No.

Speaker 4: E-L.

Speaker 2: I'm sorry.

Speaker 3: E-L.

Speaker 7: Yeah, that makes more sense.

Speaker 13: I apologize.

Speaker 7: You're fine.

Speaker 5: You're fine.

Speaker 2: And last name Garcia. The middle initial is J.

Speaker 4: Do you know his date of birth?

Speaker 9: How old is he?

Speaker 2: He's four.

Speaker 12: Four?

Speaker 2: Four, I believe. Yeah, it's 01-04-2002.

Speaker 7: How would she have gotten to the hospital? Is this mom?

Speaker 2: Yeah, this is mom. Yeah. She would have driven. She

has a car.

Speaker 7: Okay, what kind of car is it?

Speaker 2: Nissan Altima.

Speaker 7: Is it registered?

Speaker 2: Yeah. Is that the order?

Speaker 7: Right here.

Speaker 2: So what kind of order is this?

Speaker 11: It's an emergency minor guardianship. Okay.

Speaker 3: Okay.

Speaker 14: And then there was, it says, in here it says

that she has stayed away, stayed in Washington.

Speaker 11: Nissan Sentra, Charles John.

Speaker 9: Charles, 9954.

Speaker 11: Got it, I'll.

Speaker 7: Take a look, thank you.

Speaker 5: Nissan Sentra, does that sound?

Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's a Sentra, yeah. Here's a letter of guardianship.

Speaker 9: 2013?

Speaker 2: 2013. I'm not too sure about the license. Okay. Can

you hold.

Speaker 7: This for me?

Speaker 2: Blue.

Speaker 11: Is it blue?

Speaker 2: I think it's gray.

Speaker 5: Okay. So what time.

Speaker 7: So what time was the last time someone's heard from

your sister?

Speaker 2: Did you guys talk to her? Your mom said that

she talked to her yesterday around 5.

Speaker 7: Around 5?

Speaker 5: Yeah.

Speaker 11: Today, the.

Speaker 7: I'm not.

Speaker 2: Sure what time it was, but I'm pretty sure it

was today.

Speaker 7: Okay, and then she replied saying, that's from my kid.

He fell.

Speaker 4: I took him to the hospital. Has anyone confirmed that

she's at the hospital?

Speaker 9: Yes.

Speaker 8: Yeah, their sister called the hospital, Swedish Providence, all the

hospitals around the area.

Speaker 7: And they have no record.

Speaker 2: Sorry, this is the child.

Speaker 7: Ariel. Sorry, that's it.

Speaker 13: Oh!

Speaker 11: Oh!

Speaker 7: How well do we know the neighbor, or this person?

Speaker 15: She doesn't know them very well, but.

Speaker 6: No, I was talking to them.

Speaker 5: To go with the kids. What's that?

Speaker 6: I was talking to them.

Speaker 11: Oh, okay.

Speaker 5: Have you knocked with her?

Speaker 13: Yeah.

Speaker 5: Are they home?

Speaker 4: 2-3-4, we'll be checking you next floor. Everett Police, no

one's in trouble. So her phone goes straight to voicemail.

Have you guys tried calling her at all today?

Speaker 8: Yeah, she's, I guess she's at rehab in Vancouver, but

they say that her.

Speaker 2: Son's not with her.

Speaker 5: Oh, Janet's in rehab right now?

Speaker 2: I guess so. I guess she turned herself in today.

Speaker 7: She checked in today.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 8: I'm confused as you are, honestly. But they said the

kid's not with her.

Speaker 7: Yeah, well, they wouldn't... Hello. So in Vancouver, like Washington?

Speaker 2: Well, Vancouver, Washington.

Speaker 7: Have you guys confirmed that, that she's down there?

Speaker 2: Yeah, she called like 10 minutes ago.

Speaker 9: She called mom?

Speaker 2: Yeah, no, my mom called her. the people at that place.

Speaker 12: Rehab? Yeah.

Speaker 9: Okay. Does his mom have a name for the rehab place?

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 5: Hello, who is this?

Speaker 2: Uh.

Speaker 7: Is this Grupo?

Speaker 11: Hey.

Speaker 7: Hi, this is the Everett Police Department. Who am I

speaking to?

Speaker 2: Hello?

Speaker 5: Hello? Yeah.

Speaker 7: Who am I speaking to? Sorry. Antonio? Antonio, do you

work for this company?

Speaker 8: It's a program.

Speaker 11: A recovery program.

Speaker 7: A recovery program?

Speaker 5: Okay.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 7: My name's Officer Lay with Everett Police Department.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 4: I'm not sure if you're aware, but I'm looking for

maybe someone that might have checked himself in yesterday or today.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 7: Uh, Lassa Garcia, first at Janet. Are you aware of

this person?

Speaker 11: Uh, I'm not.

Speaker 9: Okay, uh, Are you an employee?

Speaker 11: I'm not an employee. I'm just, how do you say?

Speaker 2: I'm just one of the few of here.

Speaker 7: That are just... Just helping out?

Speaker 11: Yeah, I'm a patient.

Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just helping out.

Speaker 5: Okay.

Speaker 7: Can you ask maybe an employee to see if Janet's there?

It's kind of important.

Speaker 5: Yeah. Give me a minute.

Speaker 16: This one's weird.

Speaker 9: Weird?

Speaker 12: Nick.

Speaker 7: Who's Jennifer?

Speaker 2: Missing or dead kid. Oh.

Speaker 4: So, Janet is her daughter and his sister.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 7: She's been using a bunch of drugs. Okay.

Speaker 4: To the point where your mom has applied for, like,

guardianship of her kids, of her two sons. so they

picked up first son today from school and they have

like an order from.

Speaker 9: So homish.

Speaker 5: But they.

Speaker 9: We're looking for.

Speaker 7: Sorry can you repeat that.

Speaker 11: Uh, the guy that's in charge around here, he's not

here right now. He'll be here a little bit later.

Speaker 7: I don't know if you.

Speaker 11: Want to give a call back. Okay, how.

Speaker 7: How long is a little later?

Speaker 17: Like around, like, 7?

Speaker 7: So there's no employees right now?

Speaker 13: No.

Speaker 7: Okay.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 7: Uh, I'll try again.

Speaker 5: In a bit. Yeah.

Speaker 9: So....

Speaker 7: They were able to find older son. Okay. Um, but

the four year old is still missing.

Speaker 5: Okay.

Speaker 4: She had the four year old as of yesterday. She

was staying in this apartment, apartment number four with an

ex-boyfriend's mom lives here. Okay. Uh, ex-boyfriend's mom comes home today,

sees like a big pool of blood on our carpet.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 7: Uh, he has a picture of it.

Speaker 9: It's a lot of blood.

Speaker 2: Okay.

Speaker 5: And for a four year old at least.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 7: And, uh, she goes, Hey, what's this from? Uh, Janet's

not there. Kid's not there.

Speaker 4: Uh, and she goes, Oh, that's where my son falling, falling,

but I took, I'm taking him to the hospital. And

then no one has heard from her since, except for mom.

But I guess she's saying that, uh, I checked myself

into rehab in Vancouver, Washington, but the kid's not there.

They couldn't I guess he said that they confirmed that

she's there. I just tried calling him. They have no

idea who I'm talking about.

Speaker 5: Okay.

Speaker 4: And then I guess she said something along the lines of, like,

I put him up for adoption or something like that.

Speaker 11: Uh-oh.

Speaker 5: I tried knocking on the door. No answer. He said

he tried, like, an hour ago.

Speaker 7: No answer. Okay.

Speaker 5: But he talked to these folks already.

Speaker 13: Okay.

Speaker 7: So.

Speaker 5: Okay, so I tried calling that number. It comes back

to Group O or whatever, which is rehab.

Speaker 4: But they don't have an employee there that could confirm

that your sister's there.

Speaker 7: So did your mom confirm that she's down there?

Speaker 12: Yeah.

Speaker 7: So she checked herself in today with no kid.

Speaker 2: Yeah, no kid.

Speaker 7: Did she have a reasoning for why the kid's missing?

Speaker 2: I don't know.

Speaker 4: What's this about her saying that she put him up

for adoption or something?

Speaker 2: Yeah, that's another one, I guess.

Speaker 7: Yeah.

Speaker 2: You can put me on speaker.

Speaker 8: My daddy.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 3: Hi, my name is Daisy.

Speaker 14: I live in Los Angeles, and I've been trying to

communicate back and forth.

Speaker 2: She only answers to me.

Speaker 13: Okay.

Speaker 7: And when I called her, I asked her.

Speaker 14: Where are the kids, and she's like, I don't know

where my kids are.

Speaker 11: I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 14: And I told her, listen, I'll get the next flight out.

Speaker 2: I'll go pick up both of the kids. You know

I'm going to take care of them. They can be

with their cousins.

Speaker 7: And this and.

Speaker 12: This and that.

Speaker 14: And she literally told me that, well, I already signed

paperwork for adoption.

Speaker 11: That kid's going to go up for adoption.

Speaker 7: And she's talking about Ariel.

Speaker 14: She's talking about Ariel because I had already told her

that I was with my mom. And she's like, and

he'll be better off that way. It's just better for him.

I'm no good and all of this stuff. And she

wouldn't give me the information.

Speaker 2: The only thing she told me was.

Speaker 14: He's staying with a lady that I.

Speaker 2: Was staying at home with.

Speaker 4: Okay, is she talking about this person at the apartment

that we're at? That's what we're... You're assuming?

Speaker 14: Because when my brother went, she confirmed that Jeanette was.

Speaker 2: There with him.

Speaker 5: Right.

Speaker 4: But that was as of yesterday, and today was when

the fall happened. I'm just trying to figure out the

timeline of everything. And I know you're in L.A., so

you might not know as much as everyone else here.

Speaker 9: Okay, um.

Speaker 7: Okay, we're just going to do some.

Speaker 9: I also called her.

Speaker 14: And she had confirmed that she was checked into a

location which is a.

Speaker 7: Couple hours away.

Speaker 4: Yeah.

Speaker 5: And she's by herself.

Speaker 7: My concern is that she's so.

Speaker 14: She has times where she's so drugged out that we

are concerned that either he's in danger with her in

the car or he's there with her. But we don't

know because she's been kind of acting crazy.

Speaker 4: Yeah, this rehab facility doesn't seem too squared away because

I googled the number and it comes back to like

a pretty basic.

Speaker 9: Thing.

Speaker 7: And employees....

Speaker 14: The numbers that they have associated to this location doesn't

they don't have like a home line yeah I had

I had originally told her from the first time she

ever went in that this facility doesn't seem legit because

she had went in and she was in there for

a whole year and when she came back out she

came back out worse than.

Speaker 4: What she was when she went in yeah the person

I talked to wasn't even an employee and they couldn't

get they couldn't find an employee so.

Speaker 5: To where she is? Yeah, in Vancouver.

Speaker 14: Oh, okay, can I get that?

Speaker 2: She's there to Janet?

Speaker 9: Or is there somebody at the actual facility?

Speaker 4: Did your mom, like, confirm that Janet was there because

she talked to Janet?

Speaker 7: Or because she talked to someone there?

Speaker 2: She talked to somebody else.

Speaker 7: And they said she checked in?

Speaker 9: She said she was there.

Speaker 2: Okay.

Speaker 3: Okay.

Speaker 7: But the address is not there.

Speaker 11: No, no, no, no.

Speaker 5: No, I'm sorry. No.

Speaker 13: It's okay.

Speaker 12: Take your time.

Speaker 5: I'm sorry.

Speaker 7: I'm sorry.

Speaker 4: And do you have the number for the person that

lives here?

Speaker 13: No.

Speaker 7: No? So how are you communicating with them?

Speaker 2: She was here.

Speaker 7: Oh, she... Right here. And so she showed you that picture?

Speaker 3: I took it. Oh.

Speaker 5: North East? North East.

Speaker 7: Road?

Speaker 5: Code 4.

Speaker 9: No further.

Speaker 4: For now.

Speaker 7: 2-3-4 on data.

Speaker 4: Added an address to the call down in Ridgefield, Washington.

Can you open up an assist law priority looking for

Janet and her son, Ariel Garcia, four years old, and

the vehicle?

Speaker 2: Okay.

Speaker 7: The place should be some type of.

Speaker 9: Rehab facility that she might have checked herself into.

Speaker 7: Supposedly without her son, but... We're not too sure.

Speaker 12: Sorry.

Speaker 7: And if they can just call me with the.

Speaker 5: 303926.

Speaker 10: Maybe.

Speaker 2: Green.

Speaker 7: How do.

Speaker 11: You say the phone number?

Speaker 2: Richfield, Washington.

Speaker 5: And that's the phone number that they already gave you.

Speaker 2: Richfield?

Speaker 13: Yeah.

Speaker 7: Can you show him the picture of the blood? Yeah,

can I see it? It shows you what time I

took it.

Speaker 2: Today?

Speaker 4: Today.

Speaker 5: Okay. And it was still wet?

Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 8: When I seen it, it was still wet, so I

don't know. I'm not, I don't know how, typically it

should have been pretty recently, right?

Speaker 10: Right.

Speaker 12: Yeah, it would have been, I mean, how big, how

big would you say that is?

Speaker 8: If I could do it with my hands, I'd say

about that big.

Speaker 5: About that big?

Speaker 9: About that big, yeah.

Speaker 12: And then I see fingerprints or handprints. Did you get

a look at how big the hands were that were

in it?

Speaker 2: No, that was a good one that I should have done.

Speaker 5: You're right.

Speaker 2: Yeah, but no, I did not.

Speaker 5: Okay.

Speaker 9: No worries. And then the lady in there left already?

Speaker 7: Well, when I was, oh, you know what?

Speaker 2: I think, I think that's her. That's her right there.

Speaker 5: Okay, cool.

Speaker 9: I'll talk to her.

Speaker 2: Thank you. She only speaks Spanish.

Speaker 9: Oh, can you translate for me?

Speaker 2: Thank you.

Speaker 7: Okay, give me one moment to grab my phone.

Speaker 2: Hey, I'm going in the apartment. Is she okay with

us seeing?

Speaker 11: Yeah.

Speaker 13: Okay.

Speaker 5: Okay. Is she okay with us seeing her?

Speaker 4: Yeah.

Speaker 13: Okay.

Speaker 5: There you are, please.

Speaker 15: Yes, she also has.

Speaker 5: The messages of what.

Speaker 8: Is there a way you guys could do like a

test or something?

Speaker 5: Yeah, but it would take a while.

Speaker 2: Is she okay if I come in?

Speaker 9: Did she say how the kid hit his head or whatever?

Speaker 7: Can you ask if.

Speaker 9: How she If she learned how Ariel hit his.

Speaker 5: Head No She just said that she fell Okay The

last recent text she got Looks.

Speaker 2: Like a kid hand.

Speaker 9: The most recent text was what?

Speaker 17: She said that they're okay She said Thank you for

having them stay with Staying with her Okay But she

didn't say anything else about the kid or nothing Okay

They slept here?

Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 9: Did you check garbages for bandages and stuff?

Speaker 2: I don't think they messed it up.

Speaker 9: I'm not seeing any blood around the sinks either.

Speaker 2: Nothing.

Speaker 14: Can you.

Speaker 9: What's his name?

Speaker 2: She was at work.

Speaker 5: Okay, so she came.

Speaker 2: She could try to call her and see if she.

No, no, she didn't tell me.

Speaker 8: I asked her.

Speaker 15: I mean, I arrived and I saw the stain, right?

So I stayed to see what it was. So I

grabbed a piece of paper to see what it was.

And I asked her what happened. I wanted to know

what happened because it was blood.

Speaker 2: And that's when she told.

Speaker 15: Me she was in the hospital, that she didn't know

she was there.

Speaker 10: But that was like.

Speaker 2: At 3 o'clock when I asked her. Oh, so that

was recent.

Speaker 10: She said that that text was around 3.

Speaker 9: Around 3?

Speaker 10: Yeah, and it was that recent.

Speaker 5: Okay.

Speaker 12: Okay.

Speaker 2: And then, I'm sorry, I know you might have already

said this, but what did She texts at 3 o'clock.

Speaker 8: At 3 o'clock, she said that she asked what had happened.

Speaker 2: And she said.

Speaker 8: That the kid had fell.

Speaker 2: And my nephew had fell. And she took him to

the hospital.

Speaker 5: Got it.

Speaker 9: That was it.

Speaker 2: She said, thank you for worrying.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 5: And were you called probably?

Speaker 15: They said that they called him.

Speaker 9: And there was nothing?

Speaker 2: Yeah, there was nothing.

Speaker 13: Hey, uh.

Speaker 2: Yeah, looks like it. I'm gonna go.

Speaker 5: I'm gonna.

Speaker 2: Grab gloves and a DNA swab for that.

Speaker 12: Um.

Speaker 5: Can she.

Speaker 2: take screenshots, or can you help her take screenshots of

the texts?

Speaker 11: Yes.

Speaker 2: And then I'll have her text them to my phone

so I have them.

Speaker 10: Where do they usually take out the trash?

Speaker 5: Garbage?

Speaker 2: I'm going to flip around.

Speaker 10: Yeah.

Speaker 9: I'm concerned these kids are hurt or dead.

Speaker 2: Do you need water?

Speaker 5: Yeah, I forgot I had water.

Speaker 2: You shouldn't need it, but just in case.

Speaker 5: How you doing?

Speaker 4: Good.

Speaker 5: Which apartment are you in? This apartment.

Speaker 2: Whose apartment is it?

Speaker 9: Uh, her apartment.

Speaker 11: Yours?

Speaker 5: And how are you related?

Speaker 10: Uh, she's, uh, my sister's ex-boyfriend's mom.

Speaker 5: How is she related to Janet?

Speaker 2: They're not related. She's, like, she's... Candace, my sister.

Speaker 9: Candace, your sister.

Speaker 10: Yeah, that's her ex-boyfriend's mom. So that's her ex-boyfriend's mom.

Speaker 5: Who lives here?

Speaker 10: She lives here, and she stayed for a couple days.

Speaker 5: Okay. You got somebody helping you on this one?

Speaker 2: Titus is here somewhere.

Speaker 5: Okay.

Speaker 9: Are we able at all... Just want to make sure

it's blocked because it's still wet.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 5: We can do this recent, so.

Speaker 9: Hey, you know what's up?

Speaker 14: What's up?

Speaker 5: Are we able at all to find out if the

kid was taken to the hospital?

Speaker 12: We are having dispatch call the surrounding hospitals to see

if a six-year-old's been checked in.

Speaker 3: Okay.

Speaker 2: So, we'll check that out right now. But sister who,

mother of child, his sister called and said that she

checked herself into rehab down in Vancouver.

Speaker 11: Yeah.

Speaker 2: But she told.

Speaker 12: The lady here that she's taking him to, or the

child in the hospital.

Speaker 5: And that was how long ago?

Speaker 2: Three o'clock.

Speaker 5: Today?

Speaker 9: Today.

Speaker 5: Okay. So she's also, Janet's also been a part of

the civil custody issue with mom or somebody who lives

down in Linwood? Or somewhere south? Mom's right out there.

Speaker 2: She has custody of the children. She picked up the

older child at school today. And then was trying to

pick up the younger child.

Speaker 5: And this kid's how old?

Speaker 9: Six.

Speaker 2: From what I overheard, and I haven't asked directly.

Speaker 7: Yet, but.

Speaker 5: I think at least we could put out an AMBER alert.

Speaker 12: Yeah, I mean, at this point, with that much blood

from a six-year-old, and my concern is, look.

Speaker 9: At how I mean, that looks finger, finger, finger, thumb, palm, right?

Speaker 2: So that looks like a child's hand.

Speaker 5: Yeah. My concern is the more gelatinized.

Speaker 11: Yeah.

Speaker 5: Did she say how the child got injured or what

injury did the child sustain?

Speaker 2: He fell is all she told us. So she told

her to be attacked.

Speaker 5: Not sure what was injured?

Speaker 2: Not sure what was injured, no.

Speaker 5: But a lot of blood. A lot of blood.

Speaker 13: Okay.

Speaker 12: We were checking corners, trash cans, can't find anything. The

lady who lives here just got home, so she.

Speaker 9: Didn't clean anything out.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 2: There's blood on the blanket.

Speaker 9: Here, and then blood on the floor.

Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm going to probably turn this over to Russ

and have you talk to him.

Speaker 11: Okay, for sure.

Speaker 5: Just to fill him in on the details of this. Okay.

Speaker 2: I'm going to start.

Speaker 5: We know what vehicle she's supposed to be driving?

Speaker 9: A Nissan, yeah.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 5: Okay. Have we done a bolo check to welfare?

Speaker 2: I don't think we've done a bolo yet. Vancouver?

Speaker 5: Let's get a bolo out for a welfare check. Yes,

stop check welfare of that child and her and mom.

Speaker 13: Hey.

Speaker 5: Well, I mean, it goes to voicemail, so it tells

me that you just were ignoring me.

Speaker 11: Really?

Speaker 4: Really?

Speaker 5: That's weird. Okay. Yeah, well, you've got to love those iPhones.

Speaker 2: Hey, so.

Speaker 5: And we're investigating a suspicious circumstances involving mom who's got

drug history and some mental health history. and her six-year-old child,

who had been staying with mom, but there's also a

custody issue with mom, the child, and the grandma, mom's mom.

So mom's mom apparently has custody, but mom ended up

having the child. I'm not really sure how that one

worked out. Maybe because mom's grandma supposedly took the older

child to school today, but did not take the younger one.

So the younger one was still with mom at the

apartment here on Vesperon. Now, this is going to get

a little murky. Mom is staying with her ex-boyfriend's mother

at this apartment for a couple days. So this is

not her residence. She's just here visiting. And she's got

her six-year-old here with her, along with the older child,

who was not with her at this time. That child

was at school. The younger one was at home with Mom.

Speaker 11: Uh.

Speaker 5: Around 3 o'clock, mom lets her mom know that the

child fell. She got injured. And she's taking the child

to the hospital. And then a short time later, a

little while later, she calls again and says that she's

at a rehab center down in Vancouver. Rehab. And no

idea where the child is. So officers get here, start

asking questions, talk to the boyfriend's mom who had no

idea what was going on. She apparently wasn't here when

this happened. This is the boyfriend's mom who Janet, the

mother of the child, is staying with with the child. Okay,

you with me on this one? So officers go into

the apartment. Right inside the front door, there's a pool

of blood. probably a foot or more in diameter, fresh,

bright red, with some gelatinized blood mixed in with it.

Looks pretty deep, like it's not just superficial, it's into

the carpet. So this is quite a bit of blood,

and likely from that child. But we have no idea

where the child is, nor where mom is, and mom

has a car that she's associated with that we are

now putting out a bolo on.

Speaker 18: Let me just check with Adam and make sure I'm

getting the messages correct here.

Speaker 5: So who did mom call to say she was in Vancouver?

Speaker 9: She called Daisy, her sister in Vancouver.

Speaker 2: Los Angeles and her mom, who's right there.

Speaker 5: Okay, so she called her sister in Los Angeles and

then her mom, her own mother. And no one's been

able to contact Janet since?

Speaker 2: They've been trying. She's not responding. We called the supposed...

Several calls have gone. We've supposedly called... Now let's go

straight to voicemail.

Speaker 5: Let's go straight to voicemail.

Speaker 12: Oh, Janet's go straight to voicemail.

Speaker 2: So we've got a possible.

Speaker 5: Facility where she may be down in Ridgefield.

Speaker 9: In Vancouver.

Speaker 5: In Vancouver, that area. So they put out an assist

law to go down and try to locate mom or

the vehicle or both down there.

Speaker 2: And Titus called already, and they don't have any staff working.

Speaker 5: So we're... A Spanish-speaking guy came to the phone.

Speaker 2: He's like, give me a second. Another guy came, talked

to me in English. He's like, I'm just one of

the patients here. There's no employees.

Speaker 5: Oh, at that facility?

Speaker 2: Yeah, something, something.

Speaker 19: So we're trying to figure out.

Speaker 5: Okay, so it sounds like. She's been there before.

Speaker 2: She's checking herself.

Speaker 12: Oh, okay.

Speaker 5: So it sounds like this is a facility where mom

has been before, but they don't really have anybody there

that can verify that she is there or has been

there recently.

Speaker 11: Yes.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 5: I could take a photo and send it to you

if you want.

Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I miss.

Speaker 5: So dispatch is calling around to all the local Swedish Edmonds,

Mill Creek, Providence, wherever. close by that we can check.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 2: Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking.

Speaker 5: What do you think about starting an Amber Alert?

Speaker 2: It was....

Speaker 5: Yeah, we have her vehicle. We've got a bolo right now,

so we could probably up it to an AMR alert.

Speaker 12: I think that's probably appropriate right now.

Speaker 2: So how do you bleed this much?

Speaker 13: Yeah.

Speaker 2: And then not leave any evidence on it?

Speaker 5: Yeah, there's a whole process for that, so I'm going

to have to research that. We'll work on one step

at a time, and at least we've got the bolo

going and... Um, yeah, if you got somebody coming out here,

we'll get a call to the prosecutor and try to

do an ex-gen ping. It's 4807 Vesper number 4.

Speaker 12: Blood's still wet, so it's pretty recent. But I'm concerned

with the story we're getting. The mom, so kid falls,

hits head, bleeds, nobody sees it.

Speaker 5: Mom takes.

Speaker 9: kid apparently.

Speaker 12: To the hospital and then later calls her family and

says she checked into rehab in Vancouver.

Speaker 9: So I'm worried she's trying to get an alibi.

Speaker 13: Um, can you send the messages?

Speaker 3: Certainly.

Speaker 18: 234 on data.

Speaker 5: Uh, do not.

Speaker 9: Probably get it here in a second.

Speaker 7: Just age, four years old. Do we have a birthday?

Or his birthday?

Speaker 2: His birthday, uh, 0104 2020. 0104.

Speaker 12: Okay.

Speaker 2: Have we done a bulldog.

Speaker 7: Job over there? I did an assist with 234 on data.

Speaker 4: At this point, we can just put out a BOLO

for the vehicle and then.

Speaker 9: Janet and the child.

Speaker 2: 34, go ahead.

Speaker 9: Can you see what that red thing is back there?

Speaker 5: Yeah, it should be registered to her.

Speaker 7: It's like a candy wrapper. Check garbage.

Speaker 9: It looks like garbage. happened this morning. There's a couple

bags in there, but they're all pretty light.

Speaker 2: Maybe she's going to be mad if I start checking

these blankets.

Speaker 5: Huh?

Speaker 2: Maybe she's going to be mad if I start.

Speaker 5: Checking these blankets. No, I think she's.

Speaker 9: Under the impression that.

Speaker 7: Can you ask her when garbage day was?

Speaker 18: Was it today?

Speaker 9: This morning?

Speaker 5: At 7?

Speaker 2: At 7?

Speaker 7: But she left at 8 and they were both still here.

Speaker 5: No injury or anything.

Speaker 2: That makes sense.

Speaker 16: What would the kid have hit?

Speaker 9: I don't see blood anywhere on anything.

Speaker 2: Maybe this?

Speaker 3: That's a lot of blood.

Speaker 9: It's gelatinizing too, which is concerning. Yeah, it's like deep.

It's either organ blood or deep.

Speaker 2: Blood, you know what I mean? Yeah, I'm blanking on this,

or blood on this. I'm assuming we're going to take this.

Speaker 12: Oh, yeah.

Speaker 2: I got this straight up, sir.

Speaker 5: You got screenshots?

Speaker 9: Okay, can I give you my number and have you

send them to me? Yeah, that's fine.

Speaker 5: Perfect. Okay, thanks.

Speaker 2: That's it. Okay, she comes out. Call the prosecutor if

you have anything to bring.

Speaker 5: Yeah, Russ is going to send out at least one

to come here and start kind of like processing things,

so let's just keep this so it's possible. I have

not got an ID on.

Speaker 7: Brethren, sir?

Speaker 2: On anybody yet, so.

Speaker 5: Let's get... Can we start getting everyone's IDs?

Speaker 7: Do you have your driver's license?

Speaker 2: Where is it?

Speaker 9: She's going to come grab her ID.

Speaker 5: Can you work on yeah let's be careful coming in

uh statements and ID can you take care of those

things okay Adam's gonna take care of calling the prosecutor

and try to get an exigent ping going.

Speaker 4: I think if we can get an exigent ping we

can always write the warrant after.

Speaker 9: Yeah yes yeah um.

Speaker 5: And then I'll work on probably the next act I'm

gonna go work okay okay.

Speaker 7: That's my right there cool thank you.

Speaker 4: I think she left her purse in there okay does

she is it Washington ID.

Speaker 5: You want to grab her phone because I think she

accidentally said that you want to get her phone she

said it down in there we want to try to

keep everybody out of the apartment for now gotcha do

you have enough information that you can pass along to

the prosecutor or do you want me to make the.

Speaker 2: Call Uh, I think so.

Speaker 5: Um, I'm trying to think.

Speaker 2: So our, our reason for the accident.

Speaker 5: So why don't I go ahead and, because from talking

with Russ, I kind of got an idea of what

I'm going to tell the prosecutor.

Speaker 2: Obviously we think this kid's in mortal danger.

Speaker 20: Yes.

Speaker 9: Um, but explain that to a prosecutor.

Speaker 11: Yeah.

Speaker 2: I don't know.

Speaker 12: So if Russ, if Crocker gave me some info, then

I'll have you do it. If you're okay, I'm fine

writing the warrant and everything.

Speaker 5: Okay. Do me a favor then, if you would, go

ahead and look up the procedures for Amber Alert.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 5: And see what, because I know there's... I've done Amber Alert.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 5: I think there's forms and things that we have to.

Speaker 12: We have to go out of form and send it

to the State Patrol.

Speaker 5: Okay. So, if you could start working on that.

Speaker 2: Okay.

Speaker 5: And do you want your computer over here? Do you

want to grab it for me?

Speaker 4: Yeah.

Speaker 12: 230 down.

Speaker 2: Okay.

Speaker 5: 230 on data. Can I have on-duty prosecutor give me

a call with my number? My number should be on

the assignment. Okay, that was Swedish Mill.

Speaker 11: Creek.

Speaker 7: On 324.

Speaker 5: Got it. Thank you. Okay, 324 Swedish Mill Creek. That's

the last time the child was seen there.

Speaker 9: Which is the van that I have right there.

Speaker 5: Okay, so... Titus found this in the trash. Okay. So that's... 3-24-2024.

Speaker 2: Okay.

Speaker 9: Last time.

Speaker 5: And that's definitely not 3-24 blood. That is fresh, like,

probably today blood.

Speaker 8: That?

Speaker 5: Oh, yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 12: And apartment owner left at 8 or 7 a.m.

Speaker 2: This morning, and there was no blood on the carpet.

Speaker 5: Oh, the mom? Not mom.

Speaker 2: The apartment.

Speaker 5: The lady.

Speaker 2: ex-boyfriend's mom who lives here where is she.

Speaker 5: She's the one that we've been talking to okay that's

yeah the shorter gal yeah that's ex-boyfriend's mom right.

Speaker 2: Mom is the gray-haired lady that's.

Speaker 5: Yeah not janet's mom but the ex-boyfriend's mom no no

i'm saying that's boyfriend's mom this is ex-boyfriend's mom janet's

mom is the other guy um.

Speaker 4: Okay hey did someone ask what what kind of what

kind of drugs issues do you know As.

Speaker 2: Of, but I know crystal meth.

Speaker 7: Meth?

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 5: She smoke it?

Speaker 2: Snorts it.

Speaker 5: Snorts it?

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 5: And you guys know that she's using again?

Speaker 7: Yeah.

Speaker 5: Any.

Speaker 7: Sorry.

Speaker 4: Any like crazy like statements from her about hurting herself,

other people?

Speaker 2: Not too long ago, she shaved off part of her head.

Speaker 8: Um, she said, uh, I don't know the real reasoning

because I don't live with them.

Speaker 11: Uh.

Speaker 2: But, uh, she said, uh, she was going to cut

her veins and then she shaved off.

Speaker 11: Part of her head.

Speaker 2: Okay.

Speaker 5: I don't know.

Speaker 7: Uh, any words of, like, paranoia?

Speaker 2: Hell yeah.

Speaker 5: Yeah?

Speaker 7: Like, like what kind of stuff? Like, she thinks, like,

people are out to get her?

Speaker 9: Yeah, people are out to get her.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 2: Uh, people, there was one time she thought somebody was

up on the roof trying to get her.

Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.

Speaker 2: She sleeps a lot of things.

Speaker 7: Is that all from the math? Or is that from...

Is it only when she's on the math?

Speaker 9: Or is it, like, constant?

Speaker 11: Well, now... Yeah.

Speaker 2: Back then, she was cool whenever she was off the math.

Speaker 11: Yeah.

Speaker 8: It was only happening when she was on the math.

After a lot of use, it turned out she was

being sober.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 5: And then, um.

Speaker 2: She relapsed, so it just made her even worse. She

keeps getting worse and worse.

Speaker 4: Okay.

Speaker 5: So, at this point, um.

Because of the amount of blood there.

Speaker 4: Especially for a four-year-old, that's concerning for us.

Speaker 7: The fact that we can't find.

Speaker 4: The cause of the injury. Our goal here is to

find the kid, right? So we have a detective that's

going to come out and process this scene. We're probably

going to do what's called an exigent ping on her phone.

It might work if it's on to see where she's at.

We have people down in Vancouver, cops down in Vancouver,

checking on that address that you gave us to see

if they can locate her and then her kid.

Speaker 7: And then that's kind of the start.

Speaker 4: And then we have what's called a BOLA, or be

on the lookout for her, her car, and her kid.

Speaker 9: And then.

Speaker 7: The next probable step is probably an Amber.

Speaker 4: Alert, which I don't know if you know what that is,

but it's like an Amber Alert.

Speaker 13: Oh, Amber Alert. Yeah, like a.

Speaker 9: Statewide Amber Alert probably.

Speaker 4: So if you have any information that you think is

worth telling us, like, we're just, the goal is to

get the kid, right?

Speaker 2: Honestly, I haven't spoken to her.

Speaker 7: Sounds like you kind of just got roped into this

to help out type thing.

Speaker 2: I haven't spoken to her in about a year. I

got my own family. I got my kids. I got

my lady who stayed in Marysville.

Speaker 8: But I know that my parents have called the cops

on her numerous times.

Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.

Speaker 2: That they don't do anything that they can't, I guess. Right. Yeah. Yeah,

it's been numerous reports.

Speaker 9: I believe.

Speaker 13: Yeah. Okay.

Speaker 7: Well, we're going to do everything we can today for sure, okay?

I can't speak for everybody, but.

Speaker 5: Yeah. Could you give me just another quick rundown? So

what is our time on this one?

Speaker 2: So our timeline is....

Speaker 9: Jeanette Jeanette and Ariel have been staying here the last couple.

Speaker 5: Days hang on okay Jeanette Jeanette.

Speaker 12: And Ariel the child have been staying here the last

couple days Ariel yep Ariel's the kid's name um with

uh ex-boyfriend's mom um ex-boyfriend's mom leaves at like 7am

this morning they're here And then ex-boyfriend's mom gets a

text at 3 p.m.

Speaker 9: I'll check the notes here.

Speaker 12: Yep, gets a text around 3 p.m. of the blood

on the carpet. I have all the texts, but they're

in Spanish. But with the blood on the carpet saying

that Ariel fell and that they were going to the hospital.

Speaker 5: Okay, and nobody else was here with them. Just Janet

and Ariel?

Speaker 9: It was, to her knowledge, just Janet and Ariel.

Speaker 5: Okay. Nobody was here at the apartment before ex-boyfriend's mom left? Correct. Okay,

so just Janet and Ariel.

Speaker 13: Yep.

Speaker 5: Okay. I'm going to be working on an amber alert here,

so the bolo for now, and then we can step

it up from there. And the bolo will extend down

to Vancouver, where mom may have been traveling to. Sorry,

the bolo is going to have to extend down to Vancouver,

possibly where mom was en route to.

Speaker 2: Copy that.

Speaker 8: And the CGF-9021, is that the one?

Speaker 11: If it's a Nissan, then that's her car.

Speaker 2: Or the car that's registered to her.

Speaker 5: Oh, that's the channel car.

Speaker 8: Okay.

Speaker 2: Hello?

Speaker 5: Hi.

Speaker 9: Sweet. We have a kid who is in probably a

lot of trouble.

Speaker 2: Okay.

Speaker 12: So, Grandma, I'm just going to give you the... I'm

not going to use names right now. You can figure

it out when you get here. So, Grandma and Brother.

Speaker 9: So.

Speaker 5: No, they're known. They're here.

Speaker 12: I'm not going to use names because it gets confusing

when I use names.

Speaker 3: Okay.

Speaker 12: So the only name I'm going to use is Janet

and Ariel. So Janet is mom. Ariel is child.

Speaker 5: Six-year-old child.

Speaker 12: So... grandma and brother get custody of the children temporarily.

As like emergency custody because Janet is on drugs and

endangering the children.

Speaker 5: So they go.

Speaker 14: Yes.

Speaker 7: Yes.

Speaker 5: Um, so they go and.

Speaker 12: Pick up, uh, older sibling at school today. Uh, and

then they are trying to get younger child. Uh, so

they come here and, uh, brother talks to lady who

lives here, who is, we'll call her ex-boyfriend's mom. Um,

and ex-boyfriend's mom lets them in, uh, and they find

a big pool of blood on the entryway carpet, like, uh,

for a six-year-old, a pretty big pool of blood, um, so, backstory,

Janet and, uh, Ariel are staying, have been staying here

for the last couple days, uh, when ex-boyfriend's mom left

for work this morning at 7 a.m., there was no

blood on the carpet, um, And only Ariel and Janet

were here.

Speaker 9: So she leaves for work, gets a text about 3 p.m.

of Ariel, or from Janet, saying, hey, Ariel fell. I'm

taking him to the hospital. Or her to the hospital, sorry.

Or him to the hospital, sorry.

Speaker 2: I think it's four. And then they get.

Speaker 7: And then Janet calls mom and brother.

Speaker 12: And says, Hey, I checked into a rehab facility in Vancouver,

like probably an hour after that. Um, and she said

that she put her child up for adoption. Um, and

that she had, because it's better for Ariel just to

go into adoption. Uh, and then We call, uh, suppose

the place she's staying at and it's sketchy. There's no

employees working. We can't verify she's there. So we have

Vancouver going down to check and see if her car's there.

Speaker 5: Um, so yeah, sorry.

Speaker 7: Back to the point.

Speaker 12: Um, so brother gets here, goes in, finds pool of blood,

calls police, calls mom.

Speaker 9: They come here.

Speaker 12: We get here, blood is still red and is starting

to gelatinize a little bit, so it's.

Speaker 5: Not that old.

Speaker 12: And for a six-year-old, it's a lot of blood and

it's very thick and very dark. So I'm thinking head trauma.

I don't have any evidence of what.

Speaker 9: He hit his head on. Ariel hit his head on.

Speaker 2: Um.

Speaker 12: because the only other thing that I think would produce

this blood is probably a puncture but I don't see

any sharp objects sitting out so I think it's probably

going to be like hitting.

Speaker 2: You know.

Speaker 5: And so.

Speaker 12: Yeah we have ripped the unit apart uh Ariel has

not been stuffed anywhere and uh Janet Janet is not

here so there's uh there's blood there's a big pool

of blood And it honestly looks like whoever's blood it

is has been laying there for a little while because

it's pooled. And then there is a, I don't want

to say it's a handprint, but it's a tiny little handprint.

I can make out four fingers, a palm and a

thumb next to the blood pool. And then there is

blood on a blanket on the bed that they were

sleeping on, but not enough to say like it was

used for pressure or anything like that. It just looks

like maybe some active bleeding went onto the bed. And

then that's the last that we've heard from Janet or Ariel.

We checked all the surrounding hospitals. And the last time

Ariel was admitted was on 3-24 of 2024.

Speaker 9: They couldn't release why.

Speaker 12: But I have the medical band that we found in

the garbage.

Speaker 9: Garbage was not picked up today.

Speaker 12: And there is no blood, tissue, or otherwise in any

of the garbages on any.

Speaker 9: Of the sinks anywhere.

Speaker 12: There's a ton of stuff here but there's nothing in

here that would tell me like by the amount of

blood if my six year old was bleeding this much

we would have.

Speaker 9: Went to the hospital.

Speaker 12: So that's the only place that I would think that

she would take this child.

Speaker 2: But there.

Speaker 9: Okay I've already.

Speaker 7: We have permission.

Speaker 2: But I guess.

Speaker 9: Because Janet's been staying here, huh? We have permission from

the owner.

Speaker 2: Homeowner to do.

Speaker 9: Or that rental person to do whatever we want.

Speaker 5: So, I have... Okay.

Speaker 13: Okay.

Speaker 12: Chair on the front door. And to my knowledge, there's

no back access. You didn't see any back doors or anything?

Speaker 4: Okay.

Speaker 9: So I'm here.

Speaker 12: I'm supposed to start working on Amber Alerts, which I

think is probably reasonable.

Speaker 2: What do.

Speaker 9: You think? Okay. We have one. It's currently off. Or

at least going straight to voicemail.

Speaker 11: Yes.

Speaker 2: Yes.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 5: Um, so yeah, I can give you, okay.

Speaker 13: Bye.

Speaker 9: All right.

Speaker 7: Doug's on his way out.

Speaker 9: So he said, detective thing back out. Cause there's nothing.

Speaker 7: I took pictures of everything.

Speaker 2: Uh, he said, yeah, so we took pictures.

Speaker 12: I collected DNA and he said, now that we're, uh,

past the point where we think anything will identify where

he's at.

Speaker 9: We need to back out, so. So I'm gonna start

looking into doing an Amber Alert.

Speaker 12: This is the Washington State Patrol thing to check for

the car.

Speaker 2: Can you put these in the back of my car

when you get a second? Is it raining?

Speaker 9: Got hot all of a sudden, I'm kinda.

Speaker 7: I'm comfy.

Speaker 5: Love you.

Speaker 2: Thank you.

Speaker 5: Can I actually get you.

Actually, you and your mom fill out statements.

Speaker 7: So I'll leave this too with you.

Speaker 4: Up here, just your information, as much information as you know.

This is going to help us get warrants and stuff

down the road, okay? So just as much detail as

you can.

Speaker 8: As much as that's gone on overall or today?

Speaker 4: Just as much as you want to put on it,

and then specifically today, okay?

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 5: Let me get you your second pen.

Speaker 2: As a matter of the English and Spanish.

Speaker 5: Spanish is fine.

Speaker 9: It was a temporary guardianship.

Speaker 4: It looked signed and filed. And it was for grandma

to take temporary guardianship of the child.

Speaker 7: I think it might have been signed yesterday.

Speaker 9: I don't have it in front of me anymore.

Speaker 4: Do you know if the car was damaged?

Speaker 7: Has bumper stickers, anything, roof rack? That you can remember?

Speaker 2: A couple scratches, no roof rack, no stickers.

Speaker 5: Nothing that stands out.

Speaker 4: And you thought it was gray yeah i.

Speaker 2: Think i thought it was like a it's not blue

okay there might be a couple scratches on the bumper

she ran.

Speaker 5: Into this that's a long time okay so uh grandma

has got uh temporary custody.

Speaker 7: Paperwork Yeah, they showed it to me. It looked like

it was filed yesterday.

Speaker 4: It's like civil paperwork from the courthouse saying she's to

take temporary guardianship of the children. Mom, I guess he's saying,

is extremely paranoid, like snorts meth.

Speaker 5: Yeah, I saw some of her.

Speaker 9: History, and it looked like a lot of.

Speaker 5: Substance and mental health. Do we know if CPS is involved?

Speaker 7: I'm not too sure about that.

Speaker 5: What's his name?

Speaker 7: Isaiah.

Speaker 4: Are you getting a DOL return for the color of

the Sentra? We got a local that says blue, but

the brother here thinks it might be gray.

Speaker 7: Thank you for all.

Speaker 2: Your help. Yes.

Speaker 5: So she went to the bathroom apparently, so if she

gets back, can you ask her if CPS has been involved?

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 5: If she knows who CPS is.

Speaker 12: No.

Speaker 5: Okay.

Speaker 4: Hey, take a good look guys.

Speaker 8: She went to the store right here, but I'm pretty

sure she didn't.

Speaker 13: Okay.

Speaker 5: Hey, when, is it Janet, or not Janet, but Jennifer,

is that the grandma? Yes. So she went to the

bathroom apparently, so when she gets back, can you ask

her if CPS has been involved? Okay. If she knows

who the CPS caseworker.

Speaker 2: Is.

Speaker 5: Hey, this is Sergeant Drake with Everett. So we've got

a situation here we're just kind of getting into, but

we think that there's enough exigency here for a cell

phone ping. So the rundown is we get a call

from a gal, the mom of this lady who is

staying with her ex-boyfriend's mom. This is going to get

a little murky, but I'll try to make it as

smooth as I can. So she's staying at this apartment

for a couple days over on Vesper here in Everett. Today,

apparently the boyfriend's mom, that's her apartment, she left the

apartment and only the mom of the child and the

six-year-old child, this is the ex-boyfriend's ex-girlfriend, who's staying with

the ex-boyfriend's mom.

Speaker 11: Yeah.

Speaker 5: So this is... Hang on, sorry. Can I give you

a call right back? Alright, thanks. This is Sergeant Drake. Oh, hey. Yeah. Yeah,

just getting ready to talk to the prosecutor. Okay, sounds good. Okay, bye.

All right, man, I'm going to start over. Okay, so

we get a call of a suspicious circumstance. Mom of

the child, this is mom and her six-year-old, have been

staying at this apartment for a couple days. It's not

her residence. This is ex-boyfriend's mom's residence. So she's couch surfing.

Speaker 11: Right.

Speaker 12: Yep.

Speaker 2: Yep.

Speaker 5: So while mom and the six-year-old are at the apartment,

they're the only two there with ex-boyfriend's mom. So it's

just the ex-boyfriend's mom, the mom of this child, and

the child. So three people. The ex-boyfriend's mom, the owner

of the apartment or renter, leaves at around seven this morning.

Around three or so, mom calls her mom, so grandmother

of the six-year-old, and says, Ariel, who is the six-year-old,

so I'll start using names, Janet is mom, Ariel is son.

So Janet calls her mom and says, Ariel fell. I'm

taking Ariel to the hospital. Mom doesn't hear anything back

from her. She goes, starts coming out to this location

apparently to try to find out what's going on with Janet.

She doesn't know what hospital she's going to or anything

like that. A little while later, she, uh, Janet calls

mom again and says, I'm in rehab. Ariel's not with me.

Does not say where Ariel's at. Um, So this is

Janet calling on her cell phone saying that she's at

this rehab down in Vancouver. And so magically from Everett

to Vancouver. So this is also a rehab place apparently

that she has been to before. So she knows the

address and everything. So mom is, uh, grandma is now frantic.

She doesn't know what's going on with Ariel. She comes

over to the apartment and, um, I guess makes contact

with the ex-boyfriend's mom who shows up and they go

into the apartment and there's a large pool of blood,

probably about a foot in diameter, fresh red with gelatinized blood.

So pretty deep, you know, this gone into the carpet

is pretty, pretty deep blood, quite a bit of blood.

No word from Janet, the mom, no word about the kit.

Dispatch checked all the local hospitals. That child was at

Swedish Mill Creek on the 24th, but has not been back.

No other hospitals has had Janet or Ariel in today.

So we have an injured child out there somewhere and

a mom who says she's now down in Vancouver. She

has a car, so we have a plate.

Speaker 2: It's registered to her.

Speaker 5: We've got a bolo right now for the car, for her,

for a welfare check. Do we have enough to do

an exigent pink?

Speaker 7: Okay.

Speaker 11: All right.

Speaker 5: Sounds good.

Speaker 7: Are we missing anything as of right now?

Speaker 12: So the only thing we need to confirm on this

road we have is ex-boyfriend wasn't here.

Speaker 3: Oh, okay.

Speaker 5: Like, through this morning.

Speaker 20: Okay.

Speaker 5: Hasn't been staying here, didn't look back. Is it her

son that was ex-boyfriend?

Speaker 2: Yeah, her son.

Speaker 5: Is that the father of the child, too?

Speaker 2: No.

Speaker 11: They were together.

Speaker 2: She was with somebody else, had a baby with somebody else.

Speaker 4: Do we have any information on that, the father of

the child, of Ariel?

Speaker 2: He's in prison.

Speaker 5: He's in prison? Yeah.

Speaker 7: And then, can you ask her if her son was

here at all?

Speaker 2: Ariel?

Speaker 5: No, her son. Her son... Lived somewhere else? Yeah, lived

somewhere else.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 7: Can you just make sure that he doesn't have a key, too?

Speaker 5: Just ask.

Speaker 4: I just want to make sure he didn't stop by

or something to visit her.

Speaker 7: Does he have a key?

Speaker 2: Like Evan? Yeah.

Speaker 7: But he doesn't have any contact with Janet?

Speaker 2: No, no. from what i know okay and.

Speaker 4: Then can you ask your mom sorry uh if she

has any information on cps oh like a caseworker intake

number or something so kid of the father is in

prison her son ex-boyfriend doesn't live here anymore but he

does have a key that he wouldn't have stopped by

okay cool cool.

Speaker 9: Cool okay can you send a note from vancouver No.

Speaker 2: Oh, there's no... JANET.

Speaker 9: There's no JANET down there.

Speaker 2: The last time I saw her was months ago. According

to the employees.

Speaker 9: Deputy Kiff and Clark, my subjects, checked out a few

months ago.

Speaker 12: I've not checked back in or seen.

Speaker 9: So... I need.

Speaker 2: A fucking battery.

Speaker 9: You need a what?

Speaker 2: I need a battery.

Speaker 9: My battery's dying.

Speaker 7: Of this?

Speaker 2: No, I'm right.

Speaker 11: My radio.

Speaker 2: I don't have any extra, sir.

Speaker 11: Huh?

Speaker 7: I usually have an extra right now.

Speaker 11: Yeah.

Speaker 9: I usually have you, too, but I probably didn't charge.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 12: I thought it was Doug's day off. Huh? Is it.

Speaker 7: Doug's day off? He's on training.

Speaker 5: Oh.

Speaker 9: But he's also on college, so.

Speaker 7: I'm trying not to really freak, like, miss anything.

Speaker 5: How are you, dude? How much?

Speaker 2: No rush, but my radio's dead. I haven't met the

Vesper address when you got.

Speaker 13: Here for a while, so.

Speaker 2: What about the name?

Speaker 7: Of the intake? Of the intake.

Speaker 8: That's the phone number, but Lisa, she didn't get to

finish the contact name, but the first name was Lisa.

Speaker 2: They had an appointment today.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 11: Yeah.

Speaker 4: Do you want to stay in here for a minute

so I can go sit down and fucking read?

Speaker 5: Yeah.

Speaker 7: I'll extend this.

Speaker 11: Yeah, go for it.

Speaker 5: At the tone, please record your message.

Speaker 21: When you finish, you may hang up or press 1

for more options.

Speaker 7: Hello, Lisa. This is Officer Lay with Everett Police Department.

Speaker 9: I'm calling you from the phone of.

Speaker 4: Maybe one of your clients regarding Ariel Garcia, the 4-year-old boy.

It's kind of a priority right now. We're trying to

find him. So if you can just pick up, I'll

try again calling from the same number. Or you can

just say that you missed my call. call back to

our non-emergency line, or call my phone direct at 303-926.

Speaker 5: Thank you.

Speaker 2: Bye.

Speaker 9: Do you want to stand here for a minute so

I can go sit down and fucking read?

Speaker 7: Yeah.

Speaker 5: Can I stand there? Yeah, just stand here for a sec.

Speaker 12: I'll be right back so you don't have.

Speaker 2: To stand too long.

Speaker 15: Sorry to interrupt.

Speaker 9: This kid is in danger, so.

Speaker 2: Okay.

Speaker 12: But I have a south car coming anyway, so you

should be good unless you're... If you were close, I

was going to have you do it, but.

Speaker 9: If you're far away, then don't worry about it.

Speaker 11: Okay, I'm just having a little.

Speaker 2: Collision, so.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 8: Okay, sorry.

Speaker 9: No worries. Thanks, bud.

Speaker 3: 231.

Speaker 12: Per my policy, I'm supposed to advise you that I'm

going to be attempting to apply for an interview.

Speaker 5: You speak English? A little bit. A little bit?

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 5: When you came here to the apartment, did you come together?

Speaker 2: Yeah, we all came together.

Speaker 5: Okay. And when was the last time that Janet talked to.

Speaker 8: When was the last time that I spoke to her?

Speaker 5: I spoke to her yesterday at 5 p.m. At what

time was it?

Speaker 13: At 5 p.m.

Speaker 7: Me habló por teléfono y fue.

Speaker 5: A la casa, pero no le abrí.

Speaker 11: Hoy?

Speaker 14: Ayer.

Speaker 2: The last time she talked to her was 5 p.m.

Speaker 5: Okay.

Speaker 2: It's 2107.

Speaker 21: Yeah, 2107.

Speaker 2: Okay. It's on both the bars.

Speaker 12: 2107.

Speaker 5: Okay. So technically it's this morning, but they never really spoke.

She just called. She just called her, but there was

no message. Nobody talked. So how did she end up

over here?

Speaker 2: I guess she texted her. I sent the messages to your....

Speaker 5: So she texted her? No.

Speaker 2: So she.

Speaker 5: Janet.

Speaker 2: She went... She texted her.

Speaker 8: She said if she could stay with her because she

was having problems with my parents.

Speaker 5: Yeah, when was that?

Speaker 2: Monday.

Speaker 5: Okay, so... till today she's been staying with her she's

been staying with her exactly and so what happened today

that got you guys to come over here.

Speaker 8: Well she was gonna give her the papers that she

was what's that word serve serve yeah she was serving

her but she can't do it so she had brought

a friend to do it for her okay and we

came here and that's where I knocked.

Speaker 2: And that's where I was told everything when what time

It was around.

Speaker 3: 3, 3.30ish.

Speaker 5: Okay, and was she already home?

Speaker 2: Yeah, she was already home.

Speaker 5: Did she see the blood?

Speaker 2: Yeah, well, she was in there.

Speaker 8: So whenever she came home, nobody was home.

Speaker 2: So she went home and she saw.

Speaker 5: Do we know what time she got home?

Speaker 9: Around 3 o'clock she said.

Speaker 5: So she came home around 3 and then you guys

showed up here around 3?

Speaker 2: Around 3.30, 3.40.

Speaker 5: Okay, but she was already in the apartment and then

you guys showed up?

Speaker 2: Coincidentally, I showed up and knocked on the door and

she was there.

Speaker 5: Okay, what did she say about the blood?

Speaker 8: Well, first she asked me, she said, if I've heard

about Jeanette, if I've seen where the kids are at

or anything like that. And I said, I'm here to

ask you the same thing. And then she moved aside,

showed me the blood, and that's a walk. So is

it okay if I take a picture of it? And

then took a picture of it. We exchanged doors. She

got my number. I didn't get her number. And then

we said, we'll keep in contact. And then we left

because they had to go to court, go turn the

papers in.

Speaker 2: And then, well, that's when we showed up.

Speaker 5: Okay, so did Janet text her where she was?

Speaker 9: No.

Speaker 2: Well, she said she was at the hospital, but that was.

Speaker 5: She told her she was at the hospital by text?

Speaker 2: Yeah, by text.

Speaker 5: Okay, but she didn't have any voice contact with her? No.

And then who told who about her being down at

the rehab place in Vancouver?

Speaker 2: She has a phone number of one of the workers...

And she asked if she was there, and she said yeah.

Speaker 9: And they said yeah.

Speaker 5: They said that she was down there? Yeah.

Speaker 17: Okay.

Speaker 5: So are you needing, like, the probable cause statement or

document for it? Or what is it that I need

to send to you?

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 2: Yeah. Do you.

Speaker 5: Okay, so what do I need to do next here?

Because I haven't actually asked for an exigent opinion for

a while. So... If you are approving it, do I

send paperwork to you or to the judge?

Speaker 9: At this point, now we can stop and detain.

Speaker 4: It'll be sometime this afternoon.

Speaker 7: The last witness was 8 o'clock this morning.

Speaker 4: I'm trying to cease contact sporadically since.

Speaker 7: Isaiah, can you have your mom lock her cell phone? 1, 2.

Speaker 5: 3, 4 on data.

Speaker 9: Sorry, I'm.

Speaker 4: Away from my computer, but can you log a name

and number for me, please? B, Lisa. B, intake worker

for CPS.

Speaker 12: 330-2959.

Speaker 7: I think.

Speaker 5: We were looking at local hospitals.

Speaker 4: I think it's I'm assuming she might have not made

it to Vancouver.

Speaker 7: I don't believe so. She went out.

Speaker 9: Of time and she wanted to try.

Speaker 7: Is Coral Janet? Hello, is this Janet?

Speaker 8: This is her speaking.

Speaker 7: Hey, Janet, this is Officer Leigh with Everett Police.

Speaker 4: I just want to confirm I'm talking to Janet Garcia.

Speaker 8: This is her.

Speaker 5: Yeah, you're the mom of Ariel?

Speaker 8: Yes, and I want to know, does my mom have

a damn with her?

Speaker 4: So if her name is safe, we're trying to figure

out where you and Ariel are. There's a lot of

concerned people out here.

Speaker 5: Okay, no worries.

Speaker 6: My son, he is with someone else that's taking care

of him. I came to an alcoholic's place so I

can get help. But if you guys don't believe me

or you don't know anything, then I guess you guys

can come to the place.

Speaker 5: That I'm at.

Speaker 9: Okay, where are you at, Janet?

Speaker 6: Alcoholics Anonymous in Vancouver.

Speaker 9: Do you have an address?

Speaker 6: I don't have an address.

Speaker 7: Okay, so you don't know where you are?

Speaker 9: No.

Speaker 5: Okay.

Speaker 7: Where's your son?

Speaker 6: He's not with me.

Speaker 7: Okay, who is he staying with?

Speaker 9: He's staying with someone.

Speaker 6: Else and I can't give you his information because I just,

I can't give you his information.

Speaker 7: Janet, you see how that's concerning to the police?

Speaker 13: Yes.

Speaker 7: Okay, so why can't you just give us where he's at?

Speaker 8: Because I don't know where he's at.

Speaker 7: Okay, do you have a name of the person that

he's staying with?

Speaker 11: Alicia.

Speaker 7: Alicia what?

Speaker 11: Alicia Bone.

Speaker 4: Alicia Bone.

Speaker 5: B-O-N-E?

Speaker 11: Yes.

Speaker 9: Can you spell Alicia for me?

Speaker 6: A-L-I-C-A and then last name is B-O-N-N.

Speaker 7: Do you know her date of birth?

Speaker 22: No, I don't know her date of birth.

Speaker 7: Do you know where she lives and where you dropped

him off?

Speaker 2: No.

Speaker 7: Did you drop him off or did someone else drop

him off?

Speaker 11: Oh, I dropped him off, yes.

Speaker 9: So where did you drop him off, Jenna?

Speaker 2: In Portland.

Speaker 5: So he's in Portland, Oregon?

Speaker 13: Mm-hmm.

Speaker 8: Or, I'm sorry, in Seattle.

Speaker 7: In Seattle?

Speaker 5: Yes.

Speaker 7: Do you remember where in Seattle?

Speaker 2: No, I don't remember.

Speaker 9: You don't remember what street?

Speaker 10: No.

Speaker 7: Is Alicia Bone a friend?

Speaker 9: Do you trust her with her son?

Speaker 7: She's a friend, yes.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 7: And she's taking your son in, just taking care of him?

Speaker 6: So she's watching my son while I come get help.

Speaker 7: Why wouldn't you drop him off with your mom?

Speaker 6: Because she wasn't answering me at all. I was knocking

on the door and she wasn't answering me at all.

Speaker 7: Um, so that's why.

Speaker 2: Okay.

Speaker 7: When that was today, around what time did you drop?

Speaker 11: Yeah, that was today when I dropped him off.

Speaker 7: Okay. What time did you drop him off?

Speaker 2: Um, uh, 12.

Speaker 7: So around noon?

Speaker 3: Yeah, around noon.

Speaker 12: Okay.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 7: And then, do you understand that it looks like he

might have had a fall or something?

Speaker 6: Yes, he hurt himself.

Speaker 2: We made it to the doctors. Which doctor did you

get to?

Speaker 10: Huh?

Speaker 7: What doctor did you make it to?

Speaker 6: We went to the Swedish, but then we left.

Speaker 7: What time did you get to?

Speaker 9: Swedish?

Speaker 5: Huh?

Speaker 7: What time did you guys get to Swedish? I don't remember.

Speaker 5: Is that in the morning?

Speaker 9: So before noon, right?

Speaker 11: In the morning.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 7: Yeah. How did you get that injury?

Speaker 6: He accidentally fell from the bed to the ground.

Speaker 3: Okay.

Speaker 9: And was it his head? It was.

Speaker 7: His head. His head?

Speaker 11: Yes.

Speaker 7: Okay. Janet, you wouldn't lie to me, would you?

Speaker 11: No, I wouldn't.

Speaker 7: Okay. So we just have to confirm that your son

is okay.

Speaker 2: She's okay.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 7: Do you have a phone number for Alicia?

Speaker 6: I do have her contact phone number, but I'd rather

not give it to you guys.

Speaker 7: Why is that?

Speaker 11: Here, I can give it to you.

Speaker 7: Okay, thank you.

Speaker 6: If she doesn't answer you guys, it's because she only, like,

she uses her.

Speaker 9: She's probably busy.

Speaker 4: Okay, and I just want to confirm, it's A-L-I-C-A and

then bone, like B-O-N?

Speaker 3: Okay.

Speaker 9: And what's her phone number?

Speaker 3: It's 626- 2003.

Speaker 12: 2003?

Speaker 2: Yes.

Speaker 7: Does she have a second number or someone else she's

hanging out with that I can try? I don't know

her husband's information.

Speaker 10: Okay.

Speaker 7: Do they live in a house? What neighborhood do they

live in?

Speaker 5: An apartment?

Speaker 14: They live in a home.

Speaker 7: Okay, so they live in a home, and you don't

have an address?

Speaker 5: Yeah, but he's... Sorry, Janet, you cut off.

Speaker 7: Hello? Janet? You cut off, sorry.

Speaker 8: I said he's fine, I can.

Speaker 6: Go to the courthouse and get legal custody of them,

because I know that this is a problem between.

Speaker 11: Me and my mom that we always have.

Speaker 5: Okay.

Speaker 11: And... She didn't want to let me in the house, like,

at all.

Speaker 7: Like, she doesn't want to let me in the house. Well, Janet. Janet. Hello?

Speaker 6: And now I'm somewhere where I'm getting help, and I

don't know what.

Speaker 11: Else to tell you.

Speaker 7: So you kind of cut off there.

Speaker 14: So that's basically it.

Speaker 7: Okay. So I don't care about the civil paperwork or

anything like that.

Speaker 4: Like you said, that's just something that you guys are

going to have to work out with your bum.

Speaker 7: My concern here is just making sure that he's okay.

Speaker 4: Okay, so I need you to be forthcoming with me

and give me an address or something so I can

just send someone out there to make sure he's okay.

Speaker 7: Because right now, we're assuming that he's not. Right now,

we're assuming that he's not. And you.

Speaker 4: And if you're not completely forthcoming, which right now you're

not because you know where he's at and you're not

telling us, right?

Speaker 7: That can be an issue for you in the future

when you go to court. Do you understand that?

Speaker 5: Okay, so.

Speaker 4: Are you going to tell me where he's at? No neighborhood,

nothing like that? Janet, it's extremely concerning that you're not

being forthcoming to me.

Speaker 5: I don't.

Speaker 9: Okay, what is it?

Speaker 12: Spell your last.

Speaker 11: Okay, at Snooko.

Speaker 5: So while you were off the phone, I was talking

with Janet's mom and her brother who came over at

3 and that's when we got called. So they showed up.

The ex-boyfriend's mom had just shown up at the apartment

so they were within about a half an hour of

each other and that's when they both basically discovered the

blood on the floor. Where the The part about Janet

being at the rehab place, apparently Janet texted the ex-boyfriend's

mom saying that she was at this place in Vancouver.

They called down there, and one of the staff members

said that she was down there. But they don't have

any confirmation of that. They have not been able to

talk to her at all. She's not answering her phone.

So we don't have 100% confirmation. We do have a

request in a CIS law for Vancouver to go to

that rehab center and verify if she's there. And we're

waiting to hear back on that.

Speaker 11: And she's not answering the question of where the daughter is?

Speaker 5: Right, we have no idea where Ariel is.

Speaker 11: Okay, yeah, that's the concern about the pink. And if

the pink is speaking to.

Speaker 12: Her phone, if her phone is with her, yeah, that's

not going to help us find the daughter.

Speaker 9: Right.

Speaker 5: That's if she's there. So we still don't know 100%

if she's there or not. So this is coming from

the grandmother who says that they called down to the

rehab center because she's been down there before. So they

had the contact information. Called down there, talked to a

staff member. And apparently there's some language there. issues. Asked

if she has been there. Said yes. Asked if she

is there. They said yes. But they didn't give any

more information about that. Yeah, so one of the officers

called down there and they were not able to talk

to anybody to verify that she was there. So I

don't know if there's like a communication issue or something

like that. We've got That's why we've got the assist

law going right now. So we can actually have somebody

down there physically making contact. Okay, yeah, it'll be just

a little bit before we can get that put together. Yeah,

that's fine. Okay, thanks. So who called down to the

rehab place?

Speaker 11: Huh?

Speaker 5: Who called down to the rehab place?

Speaker 2: Titus did.

Speaker 5: And he talked to somebody down there?

Speaker 2: Yes.

Speaker 9: Also, Deputy Kip went down there.

Speaker 2: And confirmed she's not there.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 5: Did staff say that they had seen her or not?

Speaker 2: She checked out four months ago, and they have not

seen her return.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 5: That's what I mean. Because they were saying that they

called down there, and somebody down there said that she

was there. The family?

Speaker 4: Yeah.

Speaker 9: Yeah, but we called down there, and they're like, there's

no employees working. So they might have just been told

some BS.

Speaker 5: Okay.

Speaker 2: That's right.

Speaker 9: We had a deputy go down there and check.

Speaker 5: The deputy had been there and physically confirmed that she

was not there.

Speaker 9: Staff said so. We need a video phone number.

Speaker 5: Who's that?

Speaker 9: For the Amber Alert.

Speaker 2: And then I need.

Speaker 9: A public phone number. And then I need a 24-hour.

Speaker 2: Long-term only number.

Speaker 5: Hey, we're putting together this Amber Alert and just had

a couple questions about different contact numbers. So the paperwork

asks for the public information number. Do we give them

the general PIO or do we actually give them a

PIO number? Okay. Well, Natalie, she's a PIO. No, I

don't know who's acting, but she's... Oh, she's working.

Speaker 9: I have not done that.

Speaker 5: Okay. Yeah, and I think all we have is just

a PIO number right now, right? Like a PIO....

Speaker 11: Right, stop.

Speaker 7: Okay.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 5: And then the next is the, so from PIO number,

what's the next number that they need?

Speaker 9: So they got public and media.

Speaker 5: Oh, okay, public and media. And then 24-hour law enforcement.

And then 24-hour law enforcement number. Are those numbers that

we have to establish, or are they... Could be snowpack? Yeah, okay,

that makes sense. The 407-3999. Yeah, that's the non-emergency one. Okay. So,

just need to figure out a media line then. Probably

the same as the PIO. Like, for media, if they're

going to call and ask about it. And the public,

if they're going to call or if they give information.

The PIO. Got it. Okay, that makes sense.

Speaker 12: Yeah.

Speaker 5: Yeah. He's on his way. Okay. Thank you. Alright, see ya. Yeah,

just go ahead and hang on to those until... Yeah.

Should be around or something. So, snowpack non-emergency for media,

snowpack non-emergency for.

Speaker 11: No, I'm sorry.

Speaker 5: Snowpack non-emergency for public.

Speaker 16: Okay.

Speaker 5: Snowpack non-emergency for law enforcement.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 9: Number.

Speaker 5: And then we need to figure out a PIO number

to call for media.

Speaker 21: Okay.

Speaker 2: What did you just say?

Speaker 5: I don't know. I didn't hear. Hey there. A question

for you. So we're working this thing over on Vesper.

It's going to probably turn into an Amber Alert. We're

working on X-Gen pain and things like that for this. Okay.

For the Amber Alert, we need to establish a PIO

media number. So do you know, is there an acting

PIO right now or somebody that we can give a

number to or who.

Speaker 7: Do we need to use?

Speaker 5: Okay. Yeah, have him give me a yell. This is

probably going to go up to his level anyway. So

I can just kind of fill them in. Both her

brother and her mom are here. And they live at

that address. No. No way. Nope.

Speaker 7: Okay.

Speaker 5: So here's what I would ask. Is just go drive

by there. We do not know.

Speaker 12: Sorry, I'm... Um, we, I have not done that, um,

and I don't think Titus has done that. Yes, that

would be very nice. Do you know what car she's driving?

Speaker 4: Yep.

Speaker 12: Okay, um, so we're, we're at stop and detain point

for mom, so we're trying to, there's a lot of

blood here, so we're worried this kid's in a lot

of danger.

Speaker 5: Thank you. so they got public and media.

Speaker 12: And then 24 hour law enforcement.

Speaker 7: 234 I just talked to Janet on mom's cell.

Speaker 4: Phone she just called mom's cell phone and I picked

up I was able to talk to her a little

bit Someone wants to replace me.

Speaker 9: Here.

Speaker 7: So she called this number, Janet, I picked up. Talked

to her a little bit. Okay.

Speaker 4: She says, uh, she's checked herself into, I'll call it Tanana,

somewhere down.

Speaker 2: In, yeah, Oregon or something.

Speaker 7: Okay.

Speaker 4: Uh, She asked her where her son was. She said

she dropped him off at a friend's place and he's

completely fine. I said, who's the friend? She came up

with the name of Alicia Bone.

Speaker 7: Alicia Bone? She dropped him off. I dropped him off

in Portland, Oregon.

Speaker 4: Oh wait, actually it was Seattle. And then I was like,

can you give me a number for this person? And

she gives me this number. I just tried calling it.

Busy tones.

Speaker 5: I asked about the injury.

Speaker 9: She said.

Speaker 4: He fell off the ground, or fell off the bed

and hit his head on the ground.

Speaker 7: Which I don't see how that's possible. Okay.

Speaker 9: Because there's carpet in there.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 7: Or something there.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 4: And then she went to Swedish to drop him off

before she dropped him off at a friend's place.

Speaker 9: And they said he's okay.

Speaker 2: Which Swedish?

Speaker 9: I'm assuming this one. So I'm like.

Speaker 4: She said she made it to the doctor.

Speaker 2: I haven't seen him since.

Speaker 4: She didn't want to give me an address of where

she's at. She says that this is all due to,

she knows that this is a problem because this is

a custody battle between her and her mom.

Speaker 7: And that's why she doesn't want to give us his location.

Speaker 12: What?

Speaker 9: We just talked to her on the phone.

Speaker 7: So....

Speaker 9: Okay, so we have no idea where the kid is.

Speaker 12: All we know is that she didn't check the kid

in at Swedish because they haven't seen him since 324.

Speaker 9: At Swedish?

Speaker 11: Yes.

Speaker 7: But they did see him at 324?

Speaker 12: Yeah, with that band.

Speaker 9: Oh.

Speaker 12: So they have the band and then Swedish in the

narrative says last time they saw him was 3-24.

Speaker 9: That day.

Speaker 12: That day from the band from four days ago or whatever.

Speaker 2: So we know that she didn't check him in to

get him help, at least to Swedish.

Speaker 12: Because they would have had any Swedish would have had

a record that he came in.

Speaker 5: And they would have told us.

Speaker 9: I mean, I can call them personally to confirm, but.

Speaker 7: Okay.

Speaker 2: And then she dropped.

Speaker 9: Alicia Bond, somewhere in Seattle. She doesn't even know what neighborhood.

Speaker 7: They live in a house.

Speaker 9: Her and her husband.

Speaker 7: He's perfectly safe.

Speaker 4: So I can do some digging on this Alicia Bond

and see if we get anything, but the number goes to.

Speaker 2: 626. Is that something?

Speaker 7: 626... I don't know, since.

Speaker 2: You Googled Erica666.

Speaker 4: I haven't Googled it yet.

Speaker 7: She called from the number that we have for her.

Speaker 11: Alicia Bond?

Speaker 7: It says A-L-I-C-A-B-O-N.

Speaker 12: Okay.

Speaker 2: I'll try my Facebook just to be safe.

Speaker 7: I'll just keep trying her.

Speaker 5: Okay, what's the title number? 8036... What's the last part?

Speaker 11: 570.

Speaker 5: 570, got it. Law enforcement requests. Okay. Okay, sounds good. Alright,

thank you. Bye.

Speaker 9: Hi.

Speaker 12: Hi.

Speaker 5: So, sounds like we've had contact with the mom.

Speaker 9: So.

Speaker 5: He's sitting at the front of the house. So what's

up with Janet?

Speaker 9: Well, Janet is actively lying to us.

Speaker 7: Okay.

Speaker 12: So Titus talked to her. Or she called that phone

that's sitting right there. Roommate's phone.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 12: Her ex-boyfriend's mom's phone. She said that he fell off

the bed and hit his head. She took him to Swedish.

Speaker 5: He's fine.

Speaker 9: So they released... him and then she dropped him off

at an unknown location in Seattle. She said, I guess

she said Portland first and then she said, oh wait, no, Seattle.

Speaker 12: And now she's checked herself into rehab down in the

Oregon area.

Speaker 9: Which I don't see how you could get from here

to Portland in two and a half hours.

Speaker 5: Right.

Speaker 2: Okay. But we called Swedish.

Speaker 9: And Ariel has not been seen there since 324, right?

So she's lying about checking.

Speaker 2: With Max Fish.

Speaker 12: Do you have PC for any of the custodial interference

in that right now?

Speaker 9: I haven't been working on that. I've been working on

trying to get this fucking kid located so he doesn't die.

But I can try. I can talk to them about

seeing their paperwork and all that stuff.

Speaker 2: The reason I ask is because the judge is going

to request a procedure.

Speaker 5: So I just talked to the prosecutor, and he says

that we're not at criminal yet, so we can use

the other statute that is the non-criminal safety side of it.

RCW 80 something or other. So have you worked on that,

or have you seen that, or done that? Because that's

going to require some sort of warrant.

Speaker 20: It will later get through within 72 hours.

Speaker 7: Okay.

Speaker 5: I haven't even begun to look at it yet.

Speaker 2: What will happen is that you have to put it

up first.

Speaker 9: Supervisor at dispatch.

Speaker 20: And they'll take the number for it.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 5: I don't know who... So this... The short gal is

a gal who lives in the apartment straight ahead. The

taller gal is Janet's mom. The male is Janet's brother.

And so the shorter gal is who Janet and Ariel

have been staying with.

Speaker 7: And.

Speaker 5: Mom and brother last spoke to her yesterday at 5

or something like that and hadn't talked to her since.

And so they went and got paperwork to take the kid,

came over to serve her, and that's when she comes

home right around 3, 3.30, finds the blood.

Speaker 21: Okay.

Speaker 2: Well, I think it's pretty clear on next steps, at least.

Speaker 9: Can you tell me?

Speaker 16: This is Officer Light at the other place.

Speaker 7: I'm the one you just hung up on. Okay, so

we're still at square.

Speaker 4: One, right?

Speaker 9: Two, three, four, and data.

Speaker 5: Okay, knock, knock.

Speaker 9: Firm.

Speaker 4: Away from my computer, I can't get to it, but

can you just note that Janet has hung up on

me multiple times, not answering anymore.

Speaker 7: Copy, switch over.

Speaker 12: Lying about she said that she took him to swedish

but we confirmed that she hasn't been that ariel hasn't

been seen in swedish since the.

Speaker 9: 24th there's a lot of blood.

Speaker 12: There's a lot of blood for a six-year-old in there

so and if she drove him to fucking portland without any.

Speaker 2: Care he's not doing well.

Speaker 9: Yeah Well, I think it's one of the next steps.

Is it? Can you tell me, Detective Doug, what you

should do?

Speaker 20: Well, step one, Jake and I need some coffee, so

if you wouldn't mind getting that for us.

Speaker 9: Yeah, you're my best buddy. Okay, do you want me

to work on.

Speaker 12: So, she said on the phone she knows this is

about a custody battle, so that's why she's not disclosing

where Ariel's at.

Speaker 2: Okay, so he's going to do the paying at this point.

Speaker 12: Now that we have that.

Speaker 9: Google.

Speaker 20: I'm less concerned about PC for something. My concern is

if they said you need PC for crime to do it,

then I would take.

Speaker 7: Anything including custodial evidence.

Speaker 5: So he is doing that.

Speaker 2: That's going to be our next step. Because priority one

is finding the error. I'm less concerned about preservation of

evidence as much as I am.

Speaker 9: Well, Titus is sitting at the front door.

Speaker 12: I'm going to go back to filling out this AMBER alert.

Speaker 9: Because it is very in-depth.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 5: No, my battery's out of mind.

Speaker 7: Have you?

Speaker 13: Yeah.

Speaker 9: You just have to get it off.

Speaker 2: I'm on, by the way, just so you know.

Speaker 5: I'm not here.

Speaker 9: Well, you just brought me a battery, so you're.

Speaker 5: Not really doing anything investigative.

Speaker 7: Okay.

Speaker 9: This is off of our phone's page.

Speaker 2: There we go.

Speaker 12: Let me confirm all of this.

Speaker 9: Suspect information.

Speaker 12: Okay, I need to get a photo. I would say

criminal mistreatment for not providing him aid if he needs it.

Speaker 9: I mean, we can go to all that, but until

we find the state of.

Speaker 12: The kid, we really don't know what crime we have.

That's kind of the hard part. I can tell you

right now, if my six-year-old had bled that much... we'd

be at the hospital.

Speaker 21: Uh, she, she, mom texted, the gal that she's staying

with saying, uh, something like, sorry about the carpet, uh,

my son fell, and we're going to the hospital.

Speaker 9: But they haven't gone to the hospital.

Speaker 4: Yeah.

Speaker 12: She's worried about custody, yeah, but, My concern is that

the blood is pooled. Like, he laid there for a while.

So my concern is that he's very badly injured and

she picked him up or dead and she left him.

Because it's not like kids where they start bleeding and

they're wiping blood everywhere.

Speaker 9: It's a pool of blood and a single little handprint.

That's it.

Speaker 13: So.

Speaker 2: No, Prav has.

Speaker 12: Not seen them Swedish Mill Creek last saw them 324

And no other hospital they called all the hospitals in

the area and they have not checked in so Unless

you're gonna run and like get an energy drink or something.

Speaker 5: Well Are you sure? Literally anything Not ghost give me

a full throttle would you?

Speaker 2: Full throttle baby.

Speaker 9: Normally I'll do ghosts, but I already had one and I.

Speaker 2: Can't do two in a day.

Speaker 9: So yeah, thanks dog. Do you guys have a picture

of Ariel?

Speaker 2: Does Ariel have the same last name?

Speaker 13: Josue.

Speaker 7: Garcia. Garcia.

Speaker 3: Ariel Josue. Josue.

Speaker 12: Garcia.

Speaker 13: Garcia.

Speaker 9: And then I'm sure somebody already asked you, but I

just want to confirm it because I'm doing.

Speaker 5: An Amber Alert.

Speaker 2: What's his birthday?

Speaker 7: 0104, 2020.

Speaker 2: 0104. 2020. I think I heard brown hair.

Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 2: It's black. It's black and.

Speaker 5: Paper cell. Sorry, one more while you're looking.

Speaker 9: Yeah, I did the math on this floor.

Speaker 12: I don't live with.

Speaker 2: Him, but.

Speaker 9: Yeah, no worries, no worries.

Speaker 5: Yeah. I'll let you guys look.

Speaker 9: I'm going to get back to this paperwork, but as

soon as you find it, let me know, okay?

Speaker 2: What's up?

Speaker 4: I'm going to sit out of your guys' way.

Speaker 5: Why? Do you know what the media line is?

Speaker 11: I believe it's 425.

Speaker 5: Uh-huh.

Speaker 13: 257.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 3: 8800.

Speaker 4: 8800.

Speaker 11: But I would maybe.

Speaker 5: Call that just to double check.

Speaker 11: Because I usually am used to, like, receiving the numbers.

You know what? I'm not used to calling the media line.

Speaker 2: Okay.

Speaker 13: So.

Speaker 5: Would you just text it or chat it to me

when you verify it?

Speaker 2: Okay.

Speaker 9: Awesome.

Speaker 5: And does Irving need anything from me?

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 13: Okay.

Speaker 5: Sounds good.

Speaker 9: All right.

Speaker 5: Thanks. Okay.

Speaker 9: Bye.

Speaker 5: Hey Jeff, I could probably use your help on this one.

So we have got a suspicious circumstance where a gal

and her six-year-old son had been temporarily staying at this

apartment on Vesper with her ex-boyfriend's mom. So that's The

start is already getting murky. So she's staying with this

ex-boyfriend's mom at this apartment for a couple days. She's

there today with her son. Ex-boyfriend's mom is the only

other person that's been at the apartment. She leaves. Somewhere

in there, mom and the six-year-old end up leaving before

the boyfriend's mom gets back She leaves around 7 in

the morning. She gets back around 3 or so, walks

into the apartment, sees blood on the carpet, doesn't immediately

call 911 or think anything weird about it at first

until the mom of the 6-year-old's mom, so grandmother to

the 6-year-old, shows up at the apartment to serve mom

with custody paperwork that she just filed today at the court.

So she walks up to the door. Ex-boyfriend's mom is

the only one at the apartment. Ex-boyfriend's mom says she's

not here, and there's blood on the carpet. Blood on

the carpet is about a foot in diameter, and it's

bright red and fresh. It's got gelatinized blood in with it.

It looks pretty deep, like it was a pretty good bleed. Supposedly...

the mom, the six-year-old's mother, texted the boyfriend's mom saying,

I took Ariel, the six-year-old, up to Swedish Hospital. He's fine.

I am going to rehab in Vancouver. And that's it. So,

we have no idea where the six-year-old is. We don't

know if the six-year-old's alive or if the six-year-old's being

treated or anything. What we do know is that mom

did not take the child to any of the hospitals

in the area. Mom has been non-communicative ever since. So

nobody's been able to get a hold of her, text her,

talk to her. She hasn't called anybody, nothing. Her mother,

the grandmother of the kid, knew that mom had stayed

down in Vancouver at some time, down at a rehab

center where she was supposedly headed, made contact down there. Initially,

apparently there was a communication issue there. Someone down there

said that, yes, she was there. So an officer dispatched

an assist law down there for Vancouver, They send a

deputy over to the rehab center, confirm that she is

not there, that she hasn't been there since like last year.

so she's not at that rehab center they have no

idea where she's at missing kid we have a car

that's registered to mom that's supposedly what mom's driving so what's.

Speaker 4: Up bud thanks for coming out yeah I don't know

if you heard, but she called Mom's cell phone.

Speaker 9: I picked up from the number we have from her.

Speaker 7: She says that she checked herself into Alcohols Anonymous, doesn't

know the address, doesn't know anywhere.

Speaker 4: She says all this is over custody battle between her

and her mom that she's been doing. Today she wanted

to check herself into Alcohols Anonymous or whatever, so she.

Speaker 9: Dropped her kid off.

Speaker 4: She says to a friend named Alicia Bond. And I

was like, hey, where'd you drop her off? And she's like, Portland, Oregon.

And she's like, actually, Seattle. I was like, hey, where

in Seattle?

Speaker 11: I have no idea.

Speaker 5: I said, house, apartment.

Speaker 4: It's a house, but I can't, I don't have an

address and I don't know. Do you have at least

a number for your friend? Give me this number. Style tones.

Speaker 9: I asked her about the injury.

Speaker 7: She says it's from him falling off the bed.

Speaker 4: And then she checked him into Swedish. She didn't tell

me which one, but I'm assuming it's Mel Creek. Before noon,

because that's when she dropped off a friend. She said

before noon. But we called Swedish Red and they said

they haven't seen him since 3-24.

Speaker 7: 3-24 as in March 24?

Speaker 2: March 24.

Speaker 19: Okay, good.

Speaker 2: You guys are on top of that front right now

so I'm not going to interfere with you guys too much.

Speaker 7: Um so yeah I'm.

Speaker 2: Just going to we're just going to sit on this

real quick and I'm going to.

Speaker 9: Talk to Proctor sounds like we'll probably send out a.

Speaker 7: Couple guys yeah uh.

Speaker 4: Check garbages out back.

Speaker 7: Uh trash days this morning.

Speaker 4: 7 community garbages right yeah um 7 in the morning

but uh The person that lives here says that she

left for work at 8 and saw the two of

them in there at 8.

Speaker 2: Alright. What are you doing? Get out of your way.

Speaker 7: I'm in your way now at this point.

Speaker 10: I don't know about that.

Speaker 2: It's still a live scene.

Speaker 7: Please leave your message.

Speaker 11: Please leave your message.

Speaker 5: I think I'll tell.

Speaker 11: You what I think.

Speaker 2: So if my 4 year old.

Speaker 12: Blood that much, we'd be at the hospital immediately. That

being said, the blood is pooled, which tells me the

kid laid there for a while. And there's only one handprint,

which means he didn't get up.

Speaker 9: Yeah, exactly. So the next steps at this point are

going to be doing the... Would you be comfortable texting

me that photo?

Speaker 12: Yeah. Thank you.

Speaker 5: Doug just showed up.

Speaker 9: Purcell.

Speaker 2: Sorry.

Speaker 5: No, Irving's aware. We did make a quick PIO notification

because we're working on the Amber Alert.

Speaker 2: No.

Speaker 5: His other one's gone. Oh, is he? Oh, okay. That's

why I'm calling you because I figured he was gone already. Hey, Jeff,

just to kind of pass along as well, we're working

on the Amber Alert. I've already talked to the prosecutor,

we do not have criminal charges yet. So we're going

to try to work on the exigent ping through snowpack. Perfect.

Speaker 11: Make sure you contact a prosecutor before you do that.

Speaker 5: I did. And they said to go through snowpack for that.

They said that we don't need to go through them.

We just contact.

Speaker 22: That's not true. It's fucking state law. So they have

to approve it before we're allowed to get it. And

they should know that. So if they say go ahead, cool.

But we've got to check that box off. But it

sounds like you did.

Speaker 5: Okay, so all I had to do is process.

Speaker 11: They have to agree there's exigency.

Speaker 5: As long as they agree there's exigency, then we're good.

What's the license for that car?

Speaker 9: It is.

Speaker 5: CJC Charles John Charles 9954.

Speaker 2: I'm 9-5-4.

Speaker 11: I got the DC under the line.

Speaker 9: Let me see if he's calling about the same thing.

Speaker 5: Okay.

Speaker 9: I'll call you back.

Speaker 5: I'll call you right back. Okay. You need the number

for the PIO or the media number?

Speaker 2: Yes.

Speaker 12: I'm listing you as the authorizing officer. Yep.

Speaker 2: And then I also need.

Speaker 9: An email to verify the Amber Alert.

Speaker 2: Are you okay with me just using mine?

Speaker 4: Yep.

Speaker 9: Okay, what's the number?

Speaker 5: 24. 744. Natalie and Rudy went down to the address

on 129th just to check and to make sure that

she didn't pull in there and sit there waiting until

it's clear.

Speaker 11: It's clear.

Speaker 5: Yeah. Albright is working on some intel stuff. Okay. And

I'm working with him to try to get this extra gen.

My hero. King Kong.

Speaker 9: Look at this guy.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 12: Sorry.

Speaker 7: Hey, have you sent anyone out with the batteries for

the bomb?

Speaker 4: Yeah, mine just started chirping, so I don't know how

long I'm going to.

Speaker 7: Hello?

Speaker 5: Hey, I just read your text. Did you mean to

send me the phone number?

Speaker 7: 7444?

Speaker 5: Or is it 257? Okay. That's what I told Adam.

I figured it was 257, but I just wanted to

be sure. Okay. Got it. That's all I needed. Thank you. Alright, bye.

Speaker 4: Hey.

Speaker 5: Okay.

Speaker 7: Uh-huh.

Speaker 5: Yeah, grayish-blue.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 5: 1256 this afternoon.

Speaker 2: Okay.

Speaker 5: All right.

Speaker 12: Yeah.

Speaker 7: Yeah.

Speaker 5: So let me get the exigency ping going and then

let me get back in touch with you and we'll

try to coordinate what we're going to do while I'm

working with Doug up here. Mother of the kid. So grandmother.

The woman's mother. Yep.

Speaker 4: Yep.

Speaker 5: The boyfriend's mom, ex-boyfriend's mom left around 7. Around 3. Okay,

sounds good.

Speaker 9: All right, bye.

Speaker 5: So Albright just ran the vehicle through Flock, and it

was spotted down in Kent around 1 p.m., this afternoon.

So that's all we know. The car's been down in town. Okay.

Speaker 4: Paul Quest is.

Speaker 9: On his way with one.

Speaker 2: Are you in a spot that you can be relieved

or are you stuck?

Speaker 9: I'm about ready to send this off.

Speaker 7: Okay.

Speaker 9: It's like, well, no, I mean, it's like.

Speaker 3: Okay.

Speaker 9: I'll talk to Paul or whoever's... Well, thanks.

Speaker 5: I don't. Yeah, I guess at least one, if not two,

because we have the house secured right now while we're

still trying to figure out if we have a crime.

So Adam's working on an Amber Alert. I'm going to

work on an Exigency Ping. Titus is standing by at

the door. So this is mom and her six-year-old who

are outstanding. Okay. The grandmother comes over to an apartment

where mom and six-year-old had been staying, which is the

mother of the child's ex-boyfriend's mom's place.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 13: All right.

Speaker 5: So mom gets paperwork from court today. I'm sorry, grandma

gets court paperwork taking custody of the child. of the six-year-old.

She comes over to that, huh? That's part of it, yeah.

There's been custody stuff going on back and forth, right? So,

mom gets over to the, grandma gets over to the

apartment to serve her with the paperwork and pick up Ariel,

the six-year-old. Boyfriend's mom is there, and she's the only

one there, and she shows grandma the pool of blood

that's on the carpet that's a good-sized pool of blood.

We're talking almost a foot in diameter pool of blood.

And it's bright red, fresh, well-soaked in the carpet. It's

a lot. So the kid's injured. The mom of the

child texts the boyfriend's mom saying that Ariel fell, and

so she took him to the hospital. at Swedish, which

is a lie. We checked Swedish. Kid hasn't been there

since a few days ago. So he was there, but

he wasn't there today. So she's in the wind. And

the child, we have no idea where the child is

or if the child's alive. Right. Mom says she texts

again saying that she is down in Vancouver at a

rehab place down there. And so there's some miscommunication. They

call down there and at first apparently they told her that, yes,

she's there. But I think because there's a language issue,

it was, yes, she has been there because she has.

She was a patient like last year. So she's not there.

A deputy went over and verified that. So the ex-boyfriend's

mother saw those two, mom and kid, at 7 this

morning when she left. No one else has been to

that apartment according to ex-boyfriend's mom. Does mom have a car?

Speaker 7: Mom has a car.

Speaker 5: The plate's in the system. We have a bolo out

right now. We're working on an Amber Alert. Car's gone.

I just talked to Albright. He used his flock magic,

and the car was seen down in Kent at around

1 p.m.

Speaker 11: Today.

Speaker 5: Say that again? We don't know yet. We don't know

exactly whose blood it is. So Adam has taken a

couple DNA samples, photographed, and then closed the door. So

the apartment's secure for now. Well, we don't know. Everything's

kind of static right now because we don't know if

we have a criminal investigation, which right now we don't.

All we have is, you know, a welfare check for

this child.

Speaker 7: Right.

Speaker 5: Okay, sounds good. All right.

Speaker 12: I can estimate the approximate height of a four-year-old, but

can you just yell?

Speaker 9: Can you just ask dude in blue how tall he

is real quick? Sorry.

Speaker 5: Hey, Josh.

Speaker 4: Hi.

Speaker 2: Are you guys doing your thing there? Can I come

take over for all of you, or what's going on?

Speaker 12: I am currently doing an Amber Alert, and we're applying

for an accident phone ping.

Speaker 5: So you can come up and.

Speaker 9: Help, but there's probably not much for you to do

right now.

Speaker 17: Why don't you guys let me know if I can

relieve anyone, but otherwise, it sounds like you.

Speaker 2: Guys are in the middle of it.

Speaker 9: Are you at the South Precinct?

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 9: Can you bring Titus a battery?

Speaker 2: Yep.

Speaker 5: Thank you, sir.

Speaker 2: Yep, no problem.

Speaker 5: All right, bye.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 9: I was around three feet tall. Around three feet tall?

Speaker 5: So I'm going to go 36 inches.

Speaker 2: Sure.

Speaker 12: And when you're talking weight-wise, they don't really know, but

they said a little bigger than an average four-year-old, so

I think.

Speaker 10: I went 40.

Speaker 9: I went 40.

Speaker 7: Hey.

Speaker 9: Nice to see you.

Speaker 2: You want to, like, hang out this weekend?

Speaker 11: Huh?

Speaker 12: Just two bros, like, seeing a movie or something.

Speaker 5: Seeing a bro, seeing a movie or something. I'll invite Doug.

Speaker 11: All right.

Speaker 9: I'm not sure if that's what he said.

Speaker 11: I don't know.

Speaker 9: Climb in. Doug, where's your umbrella?

Speaker 7: I can't be.

Speaker 4: Watching all the umbrella.

Speaker 7: All right.

Speaker 9: I need a non-emergency number.

Speaker 2: Non-emergency police.

Speaker 11: Everett.

Speaker 2: 45-407-3999. Homequist is on his way with one.

Speaker 11: 425.

Speaker 2: Are you in a spot that you.

Speaker 9: Can be relieved or are you stuck?

Speaker 8: Three.

Speaker 2: Alright, I'm about.

Speaker 11: Ready to send this off.

Speaker 2: It's like, we'll not be. Okay, I'll try to call her.

Speaker 9: Okay, reporting officer.

Speaker 5: Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 7: I'm on the door, so currently stuck.

Speaker 4: Yeah, that would work.

Speaker 7: Can they give me a phone call when they get

a chance?

Speaker 9: Copy, I'm away from the phone, so I can just

put it over there. What else was that?

Speaker 13: Okay.

Speaker 9: Sorry, my battery's dying.

Speaker 7: Something's chirping.

Speaker 9: Can you go one more time? Hey, it's Officer Ray.

Speaker 5: I have a police.

Speaker 7: How's it going? Hey, appreciate you guys looking at this.

You guys are out with Janet? Yeah.

Speaker 4: So, story goes, she's an addict, snorts and uses lots

of meth, so she's baseline paranoia.

Speaker 7: Like schizophrenic. She's... visions and hallucinations and things like that.

She has two sons.

Speaker 4: Her mom, their grandma, is in the process of getting

guardianship of them due to her behavior and the fact

that she keeps relapsing. So they have the older son.

The younger son, the four-year-old Ariel, is still missing. The

last time anyone's seen them was that her and Ariel

were staying over at an ex-boyfriend's mom's house.

Speaker 9: It's an apartment.

Speaker 4: They stayed the night because she has nowhere to go,

so this nice mom let them stay here and sleep

on the couch. Mom wakes up in the morning, leaves

for work at 8, comes back and sees a pool

of blood on her carpet right by the door. She asks,

But she texts Janet, like, hey, what's this? She goes, oh,

that's from Ariel falling. Don't worry, I got her in

the hospital. No one has seen or heard from her

pretty much since. She keeps saying that she's checking herself

into AA. I was able to get her on the

phone for a brief moment. She's saying she's checking herself

into a facility, and she dropped off her son at

a friend's place. Doesn't want to give us an address,

give us a name that's probably fake. Phone number doesn't

dial to anything. She originally said she dropped him off

in Portland, Oregon, and then she's like, wait, I dropped

him off in Seattle, but won't give us an area,

anything like that. And she says this is all because

of the custody battle between her and her mom. But

she asked us if her older son was okay. So

I think at this point, if you guys contact her,

I think we have enough to detain her until we

figure out where her son is. So the facility call

saying that she's trying to check herself in?

Speaker 7: I don't know.

Speaker 5: It's kind of a labor studio.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 2: I didn't talk.

Speaker 11: To them.

Speaker 9: I'm just getting from the deputy.

Speaker 4: Okay.

Speaker 11: Which is weird because the facility is kind of in

a rural.

Speaker 7: Area and it's not like you would just show up

on foot.

Speaker 12: Yeah, okay.

Speaker 11: So.

Speaker 7: I mean, I try to look up.

Speaker 4: The number for this facility. It's like Grupo or something.

It's like maybe like Hispanic Recovery Center.

Speaker 9: But nothing.

Speaker 7: Family says every time she goes there, she gets worse.

Speaker 9: So I don't know how, you know.

Speaker 7: How kosher this facility is.

Speaker 5: Okay.

Speaker 7: That would make sense. Because I called in.

Speaker 4: They're Spanish speaking. They found the one patient that spoke English.

And he was like, I have no idea what you're

talking about.

Speaker 9: I'm just a patient.

Speaker 5: And none of the employees are here currently.

Speaker 9: So....

Speaker 7: So yeah, that's the information we have right now.

Speaker 4: We're working on an emergency ping for her phone and.

Speaker 7: A statewide Amber Alert for us.

Speaker 5: Just because we have no idea where this came from. Yeah, I'm.

Speaker 11: Here.

Speaker 4: Nissan, I think it's a Sentra 2013. I'm sitting on

the apartment right now for a warrant, so I can't

really get to my computer.

Speaker 7: It should have been provided. Yeah, it's a 2013.

Speaker 5: Looks like a....

Speaker 4: We don't... Do you have a color yet from DOL?

Speaker 5: Because our.

Speaker 2: We.

Speaker 5: Oh, you're all good. Yeah, our.

Speaker 4: They were supposed to try to check DOL for a

color because we don't have one. Brothers seems to think

it's like grayish, maybe blue.

Speaker 7: Um somewhere along that line.

Speaker 4: Yeah i mean if you guys want to get a

crack at she's been hanging up on me doesn't want

to answer my phones we have detectives on scene so

i can clarify with that with that in a second

i think we have enough time to detain her until

you know she gives us any valid information where her

son is because a lot it's a lot of blood

and it's uh for a four-year-old and some of the

blood looks like gelatinous. It looks like it's pooling for

a little bit. There's nothing in the house that shows

that he fell off the bed. It's a regular-sized sofa

that they were sleeping on, and it's a carpet. And

there's nothing else, no furniture in there that has blood

marks on it or anything like that. Yeah, if you

guys locate her, I think we have enough to detain

and then just give me a call back.

Speaker 2: So they don't have her?

Speaker 11: Yeah.

Speaker 7: They do not have her?

Speaker 18: Not yet.

Speaker 2: Okay, we should tell Drake that.

Speaker 4: They just got an unwanted call from the facility, but

it's all like language, like Spanish speaking.

Speaker 7: So they're trying to get information before.

Speaker 9: Okay.

Speaker 5: Play telephone.

Speaker 19: They're calling because the facility called in saying that she

might have shown up and they don't want her there

but it's all Spanish speaking and it's in a really

rural area so now the officer or deputy is going.

Speaker 7: To go out there now. He just wanted information on

what was going on.

Speaker 5: Okay, so we don't know.

Speaker 2: So do the ping.

Speaker 4: I told him, I told him we have enough to

detain her until, and then she's not free to go.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 9: And then we'll go from there. If they locate her.

Speaker 7: They said it's a really good rule.

Speaker 9: We just started a ping, stopped a ping.

Speaker 3: Oh.

Speaker 9: Now we're going to start it again.

Speaker 7: Her phone.

Speaker 9: It's a bit of a good going on. Her phone

is like, probably off.

Speaker 11: I keep trying to call it.

Speaker 5: Yeah.

Speaker 7: I don't want to text it just yet.

Speaker 9: I mean, she might have blocked it, too, right? Like,

there's always an opportunity for it to... And the other thing, too,

is just to get it off doesn't mean it's not.

Speaker 5: Could be no Wi-Fi. Like, last known. They said.

Speaker 11: Hi.

Speaker 2: Come on.

Speaker 7: They said this place is really rural, and they said

it's pretty sketchy.

Speaker 5: Like, every time they go out there, it's never.

Speaker 9: I think they might find some blood in that car.

I'm a little worried, too.

Speaker 2: Hello.

Speaker 5: Hello, sir.

Speaker 7: Hi.

Speaker 2: Okay.

Speaker 12: Actually, he got the pistol now.

Speaker 7: Yeah, you want to sit on this?

Speaker 4: Apartment 4, there's no back access, so.

Speaker 7: It's just this.

Speaker 2: Nobody in or out.

Speaker 7: Homeowner's in the green, Honda Civic, but I think she's

been told not to come in.

Speaker 9: And this is mom's cell phone.

Speaker 5: It's your mom's cell phone. She called us. She called

your mom's cell phone.

Speaker 9: Who's connected?

Speaker 4: Yeah, said something about she's checking herself in the facility

but didn't want.

Speaker 7: To give me the information for this facility.

Speaker 2: It's that same facility.

Speaker 4: And then she said that she, her son Ariel's fine

because she dropped him off at a friend's place until

she gets better. But the, but doesn't want to give

me a name, a friend. Doesn't want to, or she

came up with the name of Alicia Bond.

Speaker 7: Does that ring a bell?

Speaker 4: I asked, where does Alicia Bond live? She says, oh,

at first she said Portland, Oregon. And then she said, wait,

it's Seattle. And then she didn't want to give me

a neighborhood. She's like, they live in a house, her

and her husband.

Speaker 5: He's fine. I asked about the fall, the injury.

Speaker 7: She said it's from him.

Speaker 5: Falling off the bed.

Speaker 4: That doesn't make sense.

Speaker 5: It doesn't.

Speaker 7: And she checked him into Swedish before noon.

Speaker 4: Our records don't show that she's been to Swedish today.

Speaker 2: So it's all just a big lie.

Speaker 7: She's making up this story.

Speaker 4: The number she gave me for her friend is a

dial-up tone.

Speaker 9: So... Yeah, it's nice.

Speaker 5: So we're just.

Speaker 4: At this point, we're sending all our resources into detaining

her until we get a straight story from her.

Speaker 7: Until we at least figure out where her son is.

Speaker 5: Did you guys.

Speaker 2: Do you guys still have the... So what can we do?

Speaker 9: Nothing?

Speaker 4: If your sister knows of a friend named Alicia Bond,

then just, yeah.

Speaker 5: Hey, this is Sergeant Drake.

Speaker 9: Hey, 2-3, I'm 2-3.

Speaker 5: Hey, I'm calling to have an exigent ping done. This

is going to be, yeah, the welfare check for the child, basically,

I guess. well there's good so I just ran this

by the prosecutor so okay and he said we have

enough to do the action ping on the on this

end versus the criminal side of it yeah you want

a prosecutor's name okay it's uh so we're looking for

Janet uh Garcia that's mom that's mom Right. Ariel Garcia

is in the call, and that's the child. The phone

number is 780. I will get on.

Speaker 9: It.

Speaker 12: Okay.

Speaker 5: Do you want me to call you back if I

can find out what carrier? No, I should be able

to find out.

Speaker 4: Okay.

Speaker 2: I'll get on.

Speaker 11: It.

Speaker 5: Great. Thank you.

Speaker 11: All right.

Speaker 5: Bye. Okay, exogen ping 1821. Okay, so Snow packs in

and initiates the exogen ping on Mom's phone. And that's

the one that Titus talked to her from, right? That

870 number?

Speaker 11: Yes.

Speaker 12: Okay.

Speaker 9: Even though we already have her?

Speaker 5: Like her location? In Clark County?

Speaker 9: Did you hear that Clark County thing?

Speaker 13: No.

Speaker 5: They have her?

Speaker 9: Well, they said that they confirmed that she is down there,

and they found her in a car, but no kid.

Speaker 5: Oh, so they do have her.

Speaker 9: Yeah, so that's why I'm holding off on the Amber

Alert to confirm. Titus is a.

Speaker 5: But I need to know that right away.

Speaker 7: Fuck.

Speaker 2: I'm going to talk to Titus and see what he says.

Speaker 13: Okay.

Speaker 9: They just announced it at the house.

Speaker 5: Hey, this is Drake. Two minutes. Pretty sketchy.

Speaker 2: I think we might find some.

Speaker 5: Blood in that car.

Speaker 2: I don't know where it went. Hello, sir.

Speaker 5: Okay.

Speaker 2: I want to get this Amber alert done. What's that? Actually,

you guys are crystal now. You can have him sit

here while they wait for the warrant.

Speaker 5: I'll sit here.

Speaker 2: Hey, you want to sit on this? Apartment 4, there's

no back access.

Speaker 9: Okay. So it's just this. Cool.

Speaker 2: Nobody in or out.

Speaker 9: Nobody in or out.

Speaker 7: Homeowner's in the green at Ponta Civic, but I think

she's been told off.

Speaker 3: Okay.

Speaker 2: Justin, how's it going?

Speaker 5: Good. What are we doing?

Speaker 9: Just sitting on this to make sure nobody goes in

or out while they're waiting for a warrant, it sounds like.

Speaker 7: I don't really know what the specifics of the case is.

Speaker 2: That's all I was told. I already talked to Adam,

but he said they're working on Amber Alert right now.

Speaker 12: Kind of sounds like maybe mom, who's not supposed to

have a kid, took kid, some blood inside, some weird stuff?

Speaker 11: Yeah.

Speaker 9: Okay. That's all I know. That's all I know, too, yeah.

Speaker 2: I'll be right back. I'm just going to call on

the call on right now to take care of it,

and then I'll come over here.

Speaker 9: Sounds good.

Speaker 2: So they only need one of us.

Speaker 11: On this thing, right?

Speaker 5: No, don't worry about it, Josh. I got it. Where's

everyone else?

Speaker 9: What do you mean?

Speaker 2: Adam and everybody?

Speaker 5: They already left.

Speaker 2: Is there a backstab?

Speaker 7: No, they said there's no back access. Is there side access?

Hold on.

Speaker 5: No.

Speaker 2: It's like, Doug, it's like raised up.

Speaker 5: Yeah. Are you going to give me a call once

it's done or are you just going to do it? No,

just put the info in the narrative. That's fine. Okay. Thanks.

Speaker 18: All right.

Speaker 14: Bye.

Speaker 12: Okay.

Speaker 9: I'm going to do the Amber Alert then.

Speaker 5: Yeah, we had it. Okay.

Speaker 11: Okay.

Speaker 1: At the point covered here, officers had not confirmed Ariel's

whereabouts and were pursuing leads, including an Amber Alert and

a phone location request. No later arrest, charge, or case

outcome is established in this material. You've been listening to
