Mo Lang on Apparently, the Dog Had Other Plans

Sometimes life has a way of changing the plan for us. In this episode, I sit down with Mo Lang, who spent more than 25 years in corporate sales and leadership before a cancer scare, multiple layoffs, and a major shift in perspective led her into a very different chapter.

Today, Mo lives in Teton Valley, Idaho, where she created Paws & Claws Concierge, a relationship-driven business centered around animals, nature, and connection.

And then there was Ash. A 100-pound rescue dog who showed up during one of the hardest seasons of Mo's life and became part of her healing, her family, and maybe even a little bit of her next chapter.

We talk about what happens when the life you've built no longer feels like the life you want, and what it looks like to start listening to your heart instead of always leading with your head. We also talk about midlife reinvention, burnout, asking for help, learning to receive, and the unexpected ways animals can help us reconnect with ourselves.

In this episode, we talked about:

  • When traditional success stops feeling like enough
  • How animals can become part of our healing
  • Mo's journey from corporate leadership to Paws & Claws
  • The role Ash played in a difficult season of life
  • Reinventing yourself in midlife
  • Learning to ask for help and receive it
  • Unlearning old patterns and expectations
  • Trusting your intuition and making decisions from the heart

Connect with Mo:

What if the thing you thought was a detour is actually the thing leading you toward your next chapter?

Maybe the adventure isn't always about making the plan.

Maybe it's about being willing to follow where life, and sometimes a very large dog, leads you.

Adventure on.

1 SPEAKER_00: Hi guys, welcome back to the Adventure Paradox

podcast.

I have here a live guest in the studio with me, and we have a

whole audience of invisible live people who we thought about

inviting but never actually got to, which we'll talk about in

this in a moment.

But first of all, I'm so excited that you are here.

Oh my gosh.

Thanks so much for inviting me.

So a formal introduction, and then I will sit down because my

formal introduction is up here and I can only read so much.

And then we'll sit down and have this really juicy conversation.

But before I read what it says about the incredible Mo Lang up

here, I just want to share how much you've changed my life.

SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00: Like truly, thank you.

This woman is a life changer.

If you haven't met her yet, oh my gosh, you need to meet her.

We are talking about organizing.

She has been helping me organize my life and my move and all the

things, and we'll get into that a little bit.

But it all started with her helping me with my beloved

animals and her business.

So let me give a formal introduction and then we'll

we'll move into this in a minute.

Okay.

Mo Lang spent 25 plus years leading sales and people

initiatives for large publicly traded companies in the private

sector before experiencing firsthand the burnout and loss

of psychological safety that can come with high-pressure

professional environments in an increasingly AI-driven world.

Now living in Teton Valley, Idaho, she has created Paws and

Claws, Concierge and Caretaking, a relationship-driven business

centered around animals, nature, and connection.

Her current chapter is about healing her nervous system,

embracing midlife reinvention, and learning to make decisions

from the heart rather than the head or ego.

Oh, girl.

Thank you.

What a paradox.

And I knew you when you were both the CEO and founder of

Pause and Clause Concierge, but also managing this corporate

job.

Transitioning for a while.

Huge transition.

It's such a paradox.

Like, can we start with this transition?

Because there's someone out there who might also be in that

space of is this working?

Feeling the pressure?

What else is out there?

Like, how are you doing?

Can you speak to that transition or someone who's in that

corporate but desiring something else?

Feeling the pressure.

SPEAKER_01: Yeah.

You know, I always felt I live a full life.

I always thought I did.

I did a lot of different things.

I've always had hobbies.

That hobby sometimes was work, but I love what I did.

But the transition of middle age and being in my mid to late 40s

now has really, I would say, shook me.

And I have enough skills as a result of a cancer scare that I

equipped myself with the toolkit to navigate that.

And good news I'm healthy.

Thanks to Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake.

Huntsman.

Yes.

Cheers.

Cheers.

Thank you, Huntsman.

They get my donation every year.

And I built this toolkit on top of a toolkit I had already had

that I didn't realize was actually really probably in

preparation for this time.

Yeah.

And I do think I could have had a rockier time in middle age if

I hadn't had the cancer, the thyroid cancer scare a couple

years ago.

It almost kind of gave me the bedrock that when I had the

first corporate layoff, I was like, oh, this doesn't matter.

That W2 that had multiple, multiple, multiple, multiple six

figures, retired my husband.

Everything was wonderful.

We traveled the world.

Everything was great.

It was a lot of more is more.

Yep.

And I always came from humble beginnings where my parents

always taught me that if you're not happy, nothing really

matters.

I was really grounded, but the transition of midlife for me has

almost felt my dad was a sailor.

So it's almost like when you think about multiple channels of

water, like let's say a river coalescing with intercoastal and

an ocean.

And I grew up near the Atlantic Ocean in the Northeast.

And so it feels very like the highs are high, the lows are

low, aging parents, reality shifting in America of what

success looks like, AI, right?

And I'm someone who's always embraced change.

And even this phase for me is like, wow, this is a lot of

change.

Yeah.

And if I am already someone who's change resilient and have

had a lot of training in that, as well as neuroscience

training, if I'm having a hard time, gosh, help anyone else.

And so I do think that there's a bit of error that we're stepping

into now, Kat, that I'm excited to even talk about today or in

future times together, which is how can I mother myself at this

age?

Because really nobody knows how AI is going to change every

sector of our life.

And it will.

And our brains can't even comprehend it in this material

world.

Yeah.

And so I appreciate the question because for me, it's really now

about okay, taking the change and agility and resilience I've

had, but learning how that needs to flow in a different way to

support my nervous system and needs.

And I didn't even know what that meant five or 10 years ago.

Right.

So if you're curious about these words, feel free to put comments

in or let us know.

And also these terminology or the acumen I'm using also meant

something different to me, let's say before the cancer scare

versus now, before multiple tech layoffs or before having to

leave many successful jobs to say, I'm going to be the woman

speaking up in a very professional, courteous,

fact-based, unemotional way.

And it turns out in the private sector, they don't like ye.

No like ye.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And I'm a like giver and I'm a love giver.

And if you were up to nefarious activities and low vibration

things, you will be very threatened by my energy,

apparently, and react.

And I've learned that if I'm the one speaking up in those

situations and if I'm not getting laid off at a big tech

company, because what got you promoted now gets you laid off,

and you're the first one on the spreadsheet if you're expensive,

successful, and performing.

And in our era, if you were successful and overperforming,

you got promoted in bonuses and all the things.

Right.

Stock plan, all the things, VIP concierge, medicine, all the

things.

Right.

But then there's no labor laws in the US.

So then the rug gets ripped up underneath you, and you're like,

oh wow, now I'm carrying this emotional book bag of being a

high earner who retired my husband who now has to reinvent

myself again.

But I'm grateful it's happening now.

Oh yeah.

Because AI is happening and I'll be on the tippy spear.

So talk a little bit more about what's going on.

And I think the other side of it, like high five, you are

alive.

I'm alive and I'm healthy and I'm happy.

I'm with the person I want to be with, my husband Jamie, who's

wonderful.

I'm in the shout out, Jamie.

Shout out, Jamie.

Love you, Jamie.

I'm doing the things I want to be doing.

I'm in the location I want to be in.

And the cancer scare actually, for me, affirmed so many things.

Yeah.

Where if I was somewhere else and the answer wasn't yes to all

of those, I would have already had to do this work probably

alongside of the cancer scare.

But instead, I was supported in community.

I was able to get on the journey that set that has me sitting

here today that I never would have predicted I was living in

Idaho.

I never thought I'd be living in Teton Valley, Idaho, or sitting

here in Alta, Wyoming.

And I'm just thankful to be here today and learn from you because

you're part of the journey as well.

And paths cross, not by coincidence.

SPEAKER_00: No accidents in the universe.

And we like to get into a lot of Mo Magic when we talk together.

We have oh yeah, joked, although it's not a joke, it could

definitely happen that we could start a cat in Mo Magic podcast

because you can read things.

SPEAKER_01: I love the idea.

SPEAKER_00: But I'm just so grateful you're alive.

And I think that perspective of such a serious health scare on

life and the priorities and like what really matters, what's

really important?

And I think my next question is how did Paws and Claws concierge

come through?

How did this realization that you love caring for people's

animals and that there's a real need here in our vacation town

where a lot of us live full time, but we also vacation away

and a lot of people want to come here on vacation or have second

homes here?

Right.

How did paws and claws and really loving animals?

And I feel like we would be remiss not to bring Ash in.

Oh, but your picture of Ash.

We will definitely post a picture of Ash.

Ash baby.

Well, that's a whole story, too, as part of the healing.

Who knew?

SPEAKER_01: I want to know.

Tell me more.

Let's just start with Ash.

Okay.

Well, the Paws and Claws concierge business.

And thank you, Kat, also for this platform.

Because today, here I'm like, I really need to get that website

finished.

I really need to think about how to continue to put myself out

there in terms of the energy I'm feeling now of like the new Mo.

Because now I go by Mo at this more informal era.

And it's like Maureen, but people still call her Maureen.

My family does, but and almost call her Moan.

Moan.

Oh, yeah, we'll get to think about that.

We'll do some moans.

So my husband Jamie came up with the name pause and clause

concierge.

So kudos to him.

And actually, to your first question, it was born out of

really a tech layoff.

So actually, right after my cancer scare, while I was still

in short-term medical leave, I got a call from my employer

while healing at Huntsman Cancer Center that my job was gone.

Um and I was at a large company at that time and the head of

sales and the breadwinner for my marriage.

And that worked well for my husband and I.

And it was wild.

And the way that the company legally got around that in the

US is that they made my departure date, or let's call it

reduction in force layoff date, the day after my short-term

medical cancer leave.

So I'm fortunate that$180,000 surgery was covered by the

health insurance I had.

Because could you imagine if I was laid off in the other order

where I couldn't have either go bankrupt or whatever may happen.

Gratitude.

It was like gratitude.

That was a lot of reframing with my therapist.

And then my good friend locally here in Victor, Idaho, said, you

know, Mo, it could be really good for your mental health and

your healing to get on Rover.

She's like, get on Rover and get out there, have an appointment,

move your body.

It was also an election year.

So it was a very hard time to get back into the workforce.

And my emotional reserves, my nervous system, even with all

the meditation, kind of the magic and witchcraft that I got

into, kind of green witchcraft to help move a lot of stress

through my body that talk therapy didn't really feed me.

Was a time when I started, I had my own pets, but I started to

get out there and I followed my friend's suggestion.

I got back to work, things were great.

I solved for the 401k, I solved for the benefits.

Anybody in the US knows that your job is often tied to

benefits in the Western cultures, not necessarily rest

of the world.

SPEAKER_00: Yep.

SPEAKER_01: For global listeners, so don't take that

for granted if you live in another country.

And then also one of the other things is that the clients kept

on calling me back, right?

So I formed a relationship in a small town.

We'd book again through Rover.

So I gave Rover a ton of business.

Thank you for Rover.

Yep.

I got 25 five-star reviews, posted a lot of pictures on my

profile.

And then one thing led to another when I went back to my

corporate job after the layoff and after the healing of the

cancer scare with a good bill of health.

I kept on doing it on the side.

I worked remote.

I was able to get out of my house.

It was really good for me.

And then there was a second tech layoff.

And then that's when I was like, you know what?

Maybe I should make this more of a formal side gig.

Yeah.

Opened up my LLC.

My husband came up with the name Pause and Claus Concierge.

We liked it because obviously animals are so healing.

And it was great for me to be able to have the animal healing

energy, which I'm sure we'll talk more about because you've

helped me access that too, Kat.

And I'm really grateful for that.

And I'm learning every day from the animals that I'm exposed to

with you.

And it really came into a time for my husband and I that my

husband also had gone through a journey during my cancer scare.

And a lot of people want to admit that, but I think the

animals were really healing to him.

And I didn't have that insight till right now, actually.

Yeah.

And a lot of men don't want to go to talk therapy or see a

therapist or sit with the doctor and talk about what all the ifs

that come up with cancer.

Yeah.

And I had that insight till right now that Jamie, I'm so

glad that was there for you too.

And then this is when Ash came in.

So we had a senior French bulldog named Pinot, my

husband's a Saint-Melie.

So we named our first baby Pinot Noir, not Pinot Grigio.

Love Pinot Grigio, but it was named after Pinot Noir.

Everybody thought her name was Peanut.

Oh my god.

Anyway.

And so at that time we had to say goodbye.

I had the cancer scare.

I had some things going on with my aging mother with some health

issues.

I said goodbye to an aging dog.

And it was a lot of, it was a lot of loss.

And I was like, shit.

And I had then the layoffs.

And I was like, wow, this patch is just rough.

And I have a skill set.

I'm a certified yoga teacher.

I meditate every day.

I made it through the cancer scare.

I'm focused on manifestation and being in nature.

And I still was like, whoa, this is like a riptide.

And my husband says to me, I think this is time for us to get

a big mountain dog.

We've had French bulldogs for 20 years.

And I said, honey, and I was so proud of myself.

I said no.

I said, I'm going through a cancer scare and I don't have

any more left to give to anyone.

SPEAKER_00: And he said, Well, I want to bring the animal into

this time because we need the healing.

SPEAKER_01: Like we need something.

And I was so scared.

And then I said, Well, you can go date all the dogs you want at

the shelter, but if there is one, bring me and I'll come.

Long story short.

Ash came into our life who is a hundred-pound rescue German

Shepherd Black Lab mix.

And I've never had a quarter horse-sized dog in my living

room.

And my husband wanted his big mountain dog that could go

backcountry skiing and that could go out and mountain bike

and do all the things that we do when we recreate here, go on the

river and hike and all the things.

And it turned out, I thought my husband was just giving me a

good sales pitch because I'm in sales.

That's been my background commercially, sales and customer

service.

And I'm like, that is a good sales pitch.

Turns out he was right.

Jamie's right more than I'd like to admit.

And I should trust you, Jamie, on bigger life decisions because

that's why we're sitting here in Teton Valley, Idaho.

And I'll come full circle and just share, because hopefully

these longer answers give a little bit of the audience some

of my background and why I'm doing the things I'm doing from

the soul work perspective.

But it's so fascinating that through the cancer scare, I

really started doing different physical rituals, right?

Pulling tarot cards, reading daily affirmations, 365 books

with positive thinking to retrain those neurons in my

brain to think about the positive what-ifs and not

catastrophize the cancer scare.

Yeah.

And so when Ash came in, I tried to do that again with him and I

went down a rabbit hole to say, well, why don't I do a fun magic

spell where we let the release of the old dog Pinot rest her

soul, Pinot Noir, release her energy from the house.

And once Ash was home from the local pause nonprofit, where we

adopted him, we could call the new energy in for Ash.

And so I did some research, and Ash is the derivative of the

Asher tree, which is actually a positive omen.

And then my husband comes from a Jewish upbringing, and there's

the derivative asher as well.

And then I go into this ash tree and I bring the ash tree into

this magic ritual.

My husband was so patient.

I saged the house, I picked crystals, we did a little omen

to the old dog and the new dog and the other animals we had in

the house.

And it was a really good release.

And I think those types of rituals in our Western culture,

we can do more ceremony to help us move the energy.

Yeah.

Or it's almost like somatic dance.

How could we use rituals, things, nostalgic, a piece you

may have from your grandmother to honor that person?

I'm enjoying that more and more.

And it's become kind of like a fun, playful thing.

And so it turns out that Ash, I do think, is my husband's Jewish

grandmother recarnate in the dog.

Gigi, I never gave you grandkids.

So she's carrying dogs.

And so anyway, Asher is now Gigi and here to support all of our

souls.

So anyway.

Oh my gosh.

Can you make this chisel?

You can't make this stuff.

No, I know.

And it's they're longer stories, but it's like these doors that

keep on opening and these signs.

And so Ash turned four because he's a Virgo, just like my mom.

So it's wild how many Virgos I have in my life, and I'm

grateful for them, including Ash.

And it's just been fun to see Ash grow with us.

And it turns out that he really is a reincarnate spirit and

probably is here to support us in these bridges.

Anyway, Animal Wonderful.

Tears to Ash.

Also, like everyone in town knows Ash.

I introduced myself as Ash's mom.

Who's out of 45 that my street cred would be.

If you know Ash, the black lab and Victor, yeah, I'm his mom.

SPEAKER_00: Actually, you are Ash's mom.

Moam.

I know now it's our new hashtag, your mom.

Um so I hear so many things in what you just shared, which was

oh, it's so dense.

There's so much density right now.

It was so powerful.

And I think just the mic drop on you crying to your husband who

is looking at losing you, right?

Right.

Like you're his person.

He's acting like everything losing you.

And he's like, I don't need to get maybe Mad Dog.

Like, you're back on.

What am I gonna do?

And you just seeing that live as you're sharing.

SPEAKER_01: I know, and you applying it back to me is like

I've got to call him later and say, well.

SPEAKER_00: I think Ash, because I really believe that our

animals call us.

Yes, and every animal is different.

But Mo, like the beauty of you and your spirit basically being

like, Honey, I need you to go date some paws.

Yeah, and here's the funny story I wanted to tell you is your I

like I've met Ash a few times.

He is big, but he reminds me so much of my old girl Shadow, who

is about 50 or 60 pounds.

Is that the one that brings her in the garden now?

Yes, and she was sort of my first dog as an adult and love

story.

And I know you're here with us too, Shadow.

So, but I just kind of see her as a shadow.

Like I feel her shadow energy in Ash, right?

And so the other day I'm in the sand arena and I see this huge

paw print.

SPEAKER_01: Were you like it's a where you're like, are there

wolves in the sea?

SPEAKER_00: It's legit.

Did you post it on the community?

Did you post it on the community?

No, no, no.

I I I did come around to like, oh yeah, it is, it's definitely

a dog.

Mo is here with her big dog.

That's the big dog that was wandering across the pasture.

Because I was like, the gate's closed.

Like, not only is it huge, it like is going up and like we're

like it's a wild airphs.

I'm gonna send it to you.

Well, you have to be good to like you have she has horses,

ponies, ponies, she has children.

There were and so we don't want any predators out.

There were a lot of coyotes yowling last night.

Oh my god, and I was talking about my pony, and I was

thinking about so all the things.

So, anyways, like I just as you're sharing that he's a

hundred pounds, I'm like, and he has deep paw prints, in case you

don't know, like on your heart, though, right?

Oh is what I see.

Oh my god.

Like his, like, and I will make a stamp.

And I think the other thing that I'm thinking about is like

horses, similarly.

Yeah, I mean, our pony is a couple hundred pounds.

He makes a stamp.

Like our horses, they make a stamp.

SPEAKER_01: He's only a couple hundred.

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00: Yeah.

Horses are a thousand chester.

And I know that because of lots of dogs.

Yeah, size and so up there was 367 pounds of pure gold when we

cremated him, right?

So what I'm hearing is like being close to and this work of

caring for other people's dogs, which you do at such a high

level.

I just want people to understand.

Like how so it's always helpful to hear Pass handing your

animals over to the care of another person.

You hope and pray that they will love them like their own.

And life happens.

Things happen where they, for whatever reason, cannot.

They may be called away, they may have an injury, they may

have some death in the family, something happens, and

especially at this age.

Things happen, especially in this time.

Things happen.

But most I know, heaven forbid, if I am on the other side of the

world or cannot get back here, and one of my animals must go

through a journey, or it is their time.

Right, you will be here with them and energetically with me.

SPEAKER_01: And like separate skills together.

There's no idea.

You know, when you put it that way, it's even yeah, and using

some of those skills as well to provide that energetic support,

not just a friend was there or my friends.

SPEAKER_00: If like truly you are so gifted, thank you, on so

many levels with animals.

And I feel like animals, there's this inner work of like, why are

we here?

And you're also, I don't remember what kind of coach, but

I know you're a certified coach.

SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm a certified brain-based coach with

the Neuroleadership Institute, which really is kind of the

thought process of the growth mindset versus fixed mindset.

So it's pretty ubiquitous.

You can use it in any interpersonal relationship and

with yourself.

So it's more of the training of the what if, right?

Or if you say, Hey Mo, do you speak French?

I would say not yet versus no, right?

So that growth mindset is also now because we're in the energy.

I'm kind of a nostrology nerd, but it's more, I'm not really a

nostrologist.

But this is the energy now of creation, of growth, of the our

minds can't even expand the next level, unprecedented evolution

we will go through like a flywheel in the next even 24

months for so many reasons.

And AI is just gonna be the I'll just call it the ingredient that

results in different types of creation of things, experiences,

et cetera.

And I don't even know what that means, but I know it's coming.

Yeah, and it's already like it already is happening.

I've always been a healer.

My father was very much a healer of others.

I grew up in an area that was unfortunately very impacted by 9

11.

Most of our community didn't.

Have fathers after that.

And my dad devoted his time to service to help other widows in

the Catholic Church at a time when even divorce wasn't really

even, I would say, supported.

I mean, I don't want to date myself.

And so I've always kind of felt I've had that kind of vein.

And maybe my leadership skills have been used in a different

sense of more traditional Fortune 500, Global 1000, SVP of

sales, generating tons of revenue, you know, across 60

countries year over year and getting those dashboards green

and really focusing on the brain versus the heart.

And so now I think ever since that I think about my father's

passing, maybe that gift of service or me being a healer,

I've always through my coaching practice helped to pay it

forward, but I never thought it would be with animals.

Like I grew up with animals.

We had bingo, our golden retriever at home, and I had a

fish and a hamster, but I didn't have the background you did.

I wasn't going to grandma's farm for horseback riding every year

as a child.

I mean, did I do that with my cousins in Vermont every now and

again?

Yeah.

But let's be honest, I was a city slicker girl.

I grew up outside of New York.

I hadn't really camped till I moved here.

So now I feel like I'm having the inner child allowance or

surrender or receiving that maybe I wasn't in my northeast

upbringing and it wasn't my parents, just generationally.

Like maybe I meant to live this out with the animals for, I

don't know, my great-grandfather or my great-grandmother or

someone else of my generational lineage?

Who knows?

Because I get the sense that it's more than my journey right

now.

Yeah.

And I'm working on generational cord cutting and all of that

stuff for things that don't serve me.

But part of me wonders like, is this tour of duty in my soul

meant for me and perhaps other even women in my lineage?

And a lot of the energy work and healers here in Teton Valley,

Idaho have helped me kind of unlock what's mine and what's

maybe coming through the unconscious patterns.

And so I'm doing a lot of unlearning, which I think for

women is really hard.

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_00: And I could do this 60 hours a week.

Well, and I so much work like so much work.

24-7.

Like we're on.

And I think the fireworks energy is starting to recognize what

are the things that are not working that we needed or need

to burn down that are just not part of this next chapter for us

to truly serve.

And you're so iconic.

I love that I just asked you to say what kind of coach are you

again?

And you were like, you know what I mean?

I'm a mindset coach.

If I don't know how to do it, it's a not yet, right?

Right.

It's a not yet.

When we started working together, I'm remembering right

now.

I I think I looked at someone's post on the Facebook community

page of how we get around here in Teton Valley.

We find each other there.

Right.

Small town.

And so someone had posted that they were looking for animal

care.

And I think you posted underneath that.

And so then I found you.

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01: Or I think it was one of my wonderful neighbors

who had done that.

Yeah.

Keyboard warriors, thank you.

SPEAKER_00: So we find each other, and like we meet.

And I remember when we were talking about horses.

Yeah.

You were basically like, I don't know that much about horses yet.

But I've gotten it.

And I was just like, I like you.

That is the kind of attitude and can do that I'm looking for

because we have 11 animals.

Yeah.

And it's not for everybody.

I think some of it is the work of compounding.

And this is something we've also touched on, which I think is

important for our listeners.

And then we're gonna kind of start to wrap it up because I

know it's been a little while here and we're having so much

fun, but it's getting hot and she's starting to strip on me.

You're gonna have to watch the video now to see what she took

off.

So, anyways, but there are so many people who have such a love

for animals and such a calling, like that they come to us.

SPEAKER_01: Well, that's what I'm realizing, and you're

helping me learn that.

SPEAKER_00: And they serve us, and it's not for everybody for

some folks, and we have different seasons.

Like right now, I'm in my I own 11 animals era.

That's very different from when I owned one dog and one horse.

A totally different era, you know.

And you have children, I've got two kids and a husband, yeah,

and a husband, and a partridge and a pear tree, and a partridge

and a pear tree, and we just moved 14 miles, which, as my

husband said, was the longest move of his life, which was only

14 miles, right?

Sure.

And have only been here for hardly 60 days, right?

If you take out the vacation when Mo was caring for animals

and we were at a family reunion.

So, anyways, I digress.

But like coming back to those of us who are called to have these

larger ranches, and if you're in that era of you feel like you

just have too many animals, how could you hand over the

responsibility of all of that?

And I'd love to just hear you speak on that paradox of people

get to the tipping point where they feel like I can't hand this

over, or they've got an elderly dog who has all these extra

requirements, or like how do you navigate working with your

clientele's needs?

SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's interesting.

I think every client is different, every animal is

different, and the concept of the animals are coming to me is

also something that each day that I think about that, it

means something different because I'm a Sagittarius, I'm a

human design generator profile.

And so I go out and I run towards what I want.

Yeah, right.

Yeah, and so what's interesting is this is coming in faster than

I can even manifest it.

Right.

My husband says, I don't know what you're doing over there

with all that meditation, but like you better slow it down

because it's coming in quick.

Yep, fire horse here, you better get ready.

SPEAKER_00: That's right.

SPEAKER_01: And he goes, Wow, it's really working.

You know, all the energy work is working.

But with pause and clause concierge, our mission is really

to work with the owners to listen and understand what their

needs are and understand their animals' needs, their

properties' needs, and the systems and operations that they

have set up.

Because out in the West, with many different seasons and a

very, I'll call it set of durable land, everyone has their

operations set up differently and has their own neuroses.

As a pet mom myself, I have my own neuroses and anxiety with my

own pets.

And so I kind of allow is the key word of clients to feel safe

to let me know all of those isms, as I call it.

And so really it's first around communication, relationship

building, being generous with my time to come and see the animals

or animal in its own state, not charging for that or making it

feel clinical.

And if it's either a fit or it's not, yeah.

And my energy can tell me that.

Yeah.

And so what I've also done is been really open.

Like someone said, Well, will you watch 25 chickens?

And I said, Well, sure.

I mean, I've been around chickens, but not I haven't done

it yet.

But if I take the time to learn and you give me that knowledge,

gross mindset, look at this girl in action.

I'm learning skills, right?

I'm learning skills while getting paid.

So and it's eroder, and not every season's the same, and not

every animal, just like we weren't the same a month ago

before the move.

You and your family likely were different three months ago than

60 days into this wonderful property here with the horses

and the animals and your pony and everything and nature and

the Tetons.

And so this is an opportunity at pause and clause now for us to

actually have the clients tell us what they need.

And then we kind of lean into that from a learning

perspective, and we're a small community.

So my acupuncturist here in Driggs tells me that people want

to be utilized for their capabilities.

That's actually how we become nourished and whole and feel

content.

But as women, I sometimes I'm still learning how to ask for

help, how to ask for more, but we all really want that.

We just can't communicate that yet.

Yeah.

And so what I'm finding is that with pause and clause concierge,

people like you and other clients are finding that this is

a long-term gig for me.

AI has taken my job more than once.

I'm going all in on this to see where it goes.

Does it add up on paper compared to my big corporate salary and

my employee stock options?

No, not yet.

And I may not even want that.

I may want to simplify.

This could be the Crone era for me.

So I didn't have children.

Like, how do I simplify?

So, pause and clause concierge, we're really looking to build

long-term relationships.

Of course, if you're traveling through town and you're coming

from Bozeman or the Inner Mountain West or anywhere, we're

happy to help.

SPEAKER_00: Yeah.

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01: And we're also happy to be of service to amplify

other great things in our valley.

Yeah.

But my husband, Jamie, and I really together as co-owners in

this business take pride in that our owners also know that we are

learning with that dog.

And so I wonder if my cancer scare, if putting two senior

French bulldogs down because of old age over the last two years,

the medicine, the three to five hours it takes to have an aging

animal in your presence every day and how much you're giving.

And then when that time came, I invested that in other people's

animals.

And it's kind of a fun circle of life moment.

And so these are some, I would say, tenants of our mission.

And now I'll just say that I can be your beloved when you're gone

from the wonderful animals you have.

So see that hashtag.

SPEAKER_00: See that hashtag you love it.

And we will have this in the show notes in case you're out

walking your dog or riding your horse as you're listening.

It's gonna go on to the next one.

But before we wrap up, I am gonna pull a spirit card.

I know you pulled a spirit card before we started.

I can't remember if we shared it on this or not, but we are

making cards.

Yes, it's holiday season.

So you're gonna want to take them out.

I am ready to receive love.

Woo! Or the beloved.

I mean, it may be all I wanted for Christmas is a pony, right?

I think, yes, here it is.

This is the beloved.

Let's show them that.

SPEAKER_01: So I had pulled a Mary Magdalene cart earlier

because currently the astrology energy of the next 400 years

will be around Mary Magdalene.

And then, not surprising, but cat pulled, I am ready to

receive.

And be careful because when you're really ready to receive,

what I've learned is I might be you better be careful.

SPEAKER_00: You better be careful for what you wish for,

sister.

Woo! Magic is a foot.

It is witch season, by the way.

I'm gonna do one more stage because I can't help myself.

Please bottom economics.

And if you want to pull a card and then tell people how they

can find you, whether the website is ready or not, are you

on social media?

How do you want people to find you?

Look at this girl.

SPEAKER_01: I dish out compliments sincerely and

liberally.

Woo! Love that.

I know.

One of my husband's family members said, you know, you can

always lift people up or tear them down.

And we all need a lot more lifting up.

So when you think about feedback and how you treat each other out

there in the community and even just in your self-talk, you can

lift someone up or tear them down.

There's plenty of other people out there that are going to tear

us down.

And so you can find more about Pause and Claus Concierge, which

is based out of Teton County, Idaho, through our Facebook

page.

It's Pause and Claus Concierge with a Z.

Pause with a Z.

Concierge.

Ash is actually the concierge in Pause and Claus Concierge.

My God.

And then our website, I have purchased our URL, which is

pauseandclausconcierge.com.

And that'll be ready by November 1st, is my goal.

And you can reach out there through direct message or

through our future website.

Or feel free to put any comment here and I'll reply.

So thank you.

And thank you, Kat, for having me here today on the Autumn

Equinox, which is actually this afternoon on the East Coast.

I think it's what around 5 o'clock PM Eastern in the US

here.

And just thank you because what I love about this, and I can sit

here forever because remember, I've worked remote in my living

room for the last 10 years, even before COVID.

And even as a salesperson, it's just so nice to be back in

person and the feedback and your reflections on some of the

stories I shared.

And thanks for holding space for me and my continued emotions

through my recovering health journey and for the audience to

just hold space in those emotions.

But just thank you for being here.

I received so much and grateful for you.

SPEAKER_00: See you right back.

I'm gonna send love.

Let's see.

I'm here goes.

Look, look, look.

Oh mine didn't work.

You can do it next.

You have to hold it for a minute.

And while you're holding that love, I just want to say you

have truly changed my life.

Um everybody, if you are here in the area and you're looking for

someone to help you with your animals, that's pause with the Z

and Clause with the Z, concierge, get the B energy on

and this girl is the A to Z.

Like, answer to my prayers.

You've been instrumental, not just with my animal family, but

with this move, with my children, with my like, and just

I love that magic.

About leverage, right?

SPEAKER_01: We're creating peace of mind, leverage and peace of

mind.

If I can give you as a client or even as a friend, leverage and

peace of mind.

Leverage is for the day-to-day 3D material world that we're in,

especially for someone with so many passions and gifts as you

do, because you're tapped into those, and there's an

opportunity, I think, with folks now energetically to tap into

that.

And then giving people peace of mind, that's priceless.

And you can't buy peace of mind.

There's a lot of things we're not going to be able to buy in

the future because of AI.

Oh my gosh.

And so if I can give you peace of mind and leverage, to me, I'm

an act of service.

That's my love language.

That is me receiving in that full circle.

It's like being a teacher.

You teach the children in a school, they teach you, or any,

but this is also a teaching.

And so I find this to be the most cerebral and heart, I would

say, fulfilling time.

And so that's what I hear from clients.

SPEAKER_00: So good.

So good.

So good.

And right now we're gonna go outside and we are going to do a

little bit more of a riff on the fall equinox and ceremony.

So if you loved this and you've loved September and this focus

on organizing feng shui, organizing the inner world to

organize the outer world, maybe figuring out your priorities.

Maybe an animal is calling you.

Maybe the adventure to come back to yourself through working with

the wisdom of animals in nature is your next chapter.

We would love to see you.

We have some amazing things coming.

So stay tuned at the adventureparadox.com.

And until next time, adventure on.

Thank you.
