S2: Yes I do, in fact, he's in Noosa, sunning himself
S2: on the beaches, sitting up, perched at the bar at
S2: the Noosa Surf Life Saving Club.

S1: think we should start with the most heartwarming story of
S1: the week, and that is that Jai Arrow is going
S1: to run out for two more games. He'll be out
S1: there for a few seconds, and then he'll come and
S1: sit on the bench. Yep. I think this is one
S1: of the best things that I've seen in rugby league
S1: for a long, long time mate.
S2: Absolutely love it. You know, and we're all well aware
S2: of what Jai and his family are going through at
S2: the moment. Um this will be unreal. Gets him to
S2: 100 South Sydney games. Um I think it's sensational that
S2: that not only does the South Sydney Rabbitohs but the
S2: NRL and the other clubs as well, obviously that are
S2: um that are taking on the bunnies over the next
S2: couple of weeks. They're all on board with it. I
S2: think it's sensational. I think it's great for him. Can't
S2: wait to see him out there in his kit.
S1: How emotional.
S2: For him. Yeah, it'll be emotional for everyone, mate, I think.
S2: I think everyone in the game will get very emotional
S2: when they see him out there. You know, for a
S2: couple of more runs and uh, sorry, a couple more,
S2: you know, games and, um. And then he gets into Chase.
S2: I'm sure he'll get a standing ovation when he walks
S2: off that field each, each, uh, each week.
S1: I, I, uh, I spent a bit of time with
S1: him recently. Um, there was a grandfather and his grandson
S1: that rode from Broome to barrel to raise money for
S1: fight MND. And, uh, Jai was there at the finishing line.
S1: We had a function down at club Rose Bay. The
S1: the older gentleman sadly died on his way home from
S1: that function. So it was a really tough, tough, uh,
S1: 24 hours for everybody, uh, that went down to support
S1: Bob Montgomery and his grandson Tom. But I spoke to
S1: Jai when I was down there, mate. He is still
S1: as cheeky as anything. He's cracking jokes. He was pointing
S1: at photos, a million videos of me on social media saying,
S1: have a look at your head. Um, and Blake Solly
S1: was telling me he was also down there, the boss
S1: of the South Sydney Rabbitohs, the guys in there every day.
S1: It's one of the first ones. They're the last to leave.
S1: He just loves being in that team environment. He's got
S1: a beautiful little girl at home, his darling wife. So I,
S1: I just think we forget about the importance of rugby
S1: league when people are going through tough times. But one
S1: thing we do really well as a game is we
S1: get behind them. And you know, there's the knocks out
S1: there that say, oh, he technically hasn't played 100 games.
S1: Who cares?
S2: Who gives a.
S1: Shit? Who cares. Like who's gonna who's gonna be that
S1: pathetic to look back at the career of Jai Arrow
S1: and say, oh, he didn't play those two games for
S1: South Sydney. Like, get a life, mate.
S2: It's going to be unreal. I think everyone in rugby
S2: league are going to wrap their arms around him. It's
S2: going to be sensational for him. I think it's the
S2: right thing to do and I think all all the
S2: people that are involved, the NRL and the clubs, they
S2: should be congratulated for it.
S1: Well done rugby league, well done. Um the Adam Reynolds
S1: um stories, the other big one the drama. So he
S1: can't look.
S2: No.
S1: I've known I've known the Reynolds family for a long,
S1: long time, as you know. I'd love nothing more than
S1: seeing Adam Reynolds to go out there and play one
S1: last game, but he's his body's just not up to it.
S1: And then usually the usual thing now is, let's just
S1: point the finger at Michael McGuire. He's become the villain
S1: in all of this. But I'm I'm glad Adam Reynolds
S1: has come out and clarified it and said, look, he
S1: was consulted and he's just not up to playing one
S1: last game for them, unfortunately.
S2: Yeah. Look, it is disappointing. I would have loved to
S2: have seen Reno even even if on the bench. What
S2: does it. Madge? Madge, have some heart. Stick him on
S2: the bench in the 19 man squad. Why can't they
S2: do that?
S1: Yeah, he probably could.
S2: Probably could. Why not? Well you know what reason why
S2: I think it would be good. They obviously want to
S2: win their last two games. They've had a season. They
S2: want to finish on a high. Imagine the players knowing
S2: that Reno's going to dress up for one more time.
S2: I think that would lift the players to perform and
S2: send him out a winner. So, Madge, what are you doing, mate? Reno,
S2: get the kid on for one more week. Have a crack.
S1: Now you're into your mate, Madge.
S2: I'm into both of them. I know both, I know
S2: both of them. Reno, get out there one more time. And, Madge,

S1: the studio with me to talk about, um, his book. Um,
S1: the first paragraph of his book just goes to show
S1: how difficult his upbringing was. He talks about in the
S1: first paragraph of, um, hearing the shouts and screams from
S1: the house across the road where a bloke had just
S1: killed someone.

S1: Um, and you know where he grew up? Around the
S1: corner from Redfern Oval. Um, you know, tough area. And
S1: you look at what he's been able to do with
S1: his life. Creating a young family, his beautiful kids, beautiful wife. Uh,
S1: it's a credit to him and his old man Mark,
S1: who's a yes, a regular listener to the continuous call team,
S1: loves a drink, loves a good time. Um, I reckon
S1: he'll shed a tear to knowing that his the curtain's
S1: come down on Adam Reynolds career. So well done to you, Renault. Congratulations. Um,

S2: was sitting behind me at the ground one. He was
S2: up in the members on the on the beers, and
S2: he sent me a message. I turned around, he was
S2: very happy. But then the roosters were coming back and
S2: he was very nervous there.
S1: What about the, um, the field goal from John Madden.
S2: Oh mate, what about the intercept from Terrell May? That's
S2: what turned it. The Roosters were going down field to
S2: kick the field goal. And May got the intercept off
S2: Naufahu White's offload. And then Madden nailed the field goal.
S2: Well done.
S1: Tigers. Have the Tigers left their run too late to
S1: play finals. The answer to you one on is yes.

S1: I don't even think you'll play finals next year. But anyway,
S1: that's a story for another day. Um, I was going
S1: to ask you about Jacob Preston because there was a
S1: few reports that he might be on the way out
S1: of the kennel, but they've resigned him for four years,
S1: which is good news.
S2: Great resigning. Um, I was actually saying earlier. I jumped
S2: in a lift with his old man. I don't know
S2: if you've seen his old man. His old man dresses
S2: top to toe in Bulldogs kit. Yeah, yeah. Bulldogs like everything.
S2: Bulldogs like mad, passionate. Obviously fan of Bulldogs. So I
S2: reckon it's unreal.
S1: Do you reckon his dad wouldn't let him leave because
S1: he'd have a whole new kid?

S2: it's great. He's a great player. Love watching him play.

S2: for another four years.

S2: No doubt, no doubt. Well it's handy for the Bulldogs.
S2: And obviously they've still got some work to do if
S2: they are to make the finals. But when you can
S2: go to one side of the field and you've got
S2: kick out and then you go to the other side
S2: of the field and you've got Preston. It's very, very
S2: handy back roles to play to. So, um, he's a
S2: very valuable piece of their puzzle there at the doggies
S2: and it's I'm glad he's staying there.
S1: Um Thursday night footy. I want you to get controversial.
S1: Why they're trialling the new kick off rule.
S2: Oh yeah. I know I'm not a fan. Look, I'm
S2: not a fan.
S1: I'm stupid.
S2: I know I'm not a fan. So don't argue.

S2: game trial, new rules in our game. I didn't necessarily
S2: say for two games in the back end of the NRL,
S2: I said in another competition, right. So we could see
S2: it over 12 months. Report on it. What was great?
S2: What wasn't great? Did it work? Did it not? So
S2: at least I understand that they're trialing it. So at
S2: least we can see it. Let's see it in in practice.
S2: Let's see if it does work. Does it have any benefit.
S2: Is it an influence or not? Does it make our
S2: product better. And then we can go from there. We
S2: can all we can all form an opinion over the
S2: next couple of weeks of whether we like it or not,
S2: and if we want to see it in the game
S2: next year.
S1: So you're happy the trialing this kick off.
S2: I don't mind that they're trialing it.
S1: Because it's stupid.
S2: I don't like the rule. The rule itself I don't
S2: like all right. I just want him to kick off
S2: like normal, like they've done for 120 years. Exactly. But
S2: at least they're trialing it in games. That's my my point.

S2: No, because after next weekend when the Dragons play the
S2: Parramatta and we all think it's stupid, we can all go, hey,

S2: game because we've seen it. So there's an argument for
S2: us then?
S1: Well, what do we know what the mentality is behind it?
S2: No. I think it's they think that it's going to
S2: be more, uh, entertaining and keep the games closer, more entertaining.
S2: I think that it's going to be more like it's
S2: going to keep the games closer. And one team's not
S2: just scoring a try, getting the ball back, scoring a
S2: try and keeping the pressure on. That's what I think
S2: they're trying.

S2: opportunity mate and I actually said to him yesterday, I
S2: said how good is this? Like 12 months ago you
S2: had your ACL done. Now you're you. He was back
S2: at part time. I think it was a part time contract,
S2: but he's worked his backside off. He's got back to
S2: playing footy and now he gets an opportunity to play
S2: in the NRL again.
