Ep 70: Pantheon S1E6 "You Must Be Caspian"
Steve continues to freak us all out as the gang dives deeper into the first season of the Netflix animated series Pantheon, with episode six "You Must Be Caspian." Amanda gets inventive with trivia. Travis dutifully watches the correct episode this time.
[SPEAKER_02]: This he and small screen sessions, a podcast about television series, Amanda Steven and Travis were sober clocked during episode 6 you'll need to devise their instead of a multiplier for your playback speed.
[SPEAKER_02]: Quick, like a buddy, how?
[SPEAKER_02]: Brief listeners.
[SPEAKER_02]: What?
[SPEAKER_01]: Whoa.
[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're on normal speed.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, who?
[SPEAKER_02]: That was a human body.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I say a human body, human brain, human body.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Although, I was going to be like Johnny five.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like need input and just like process a book and like just like zip through it.
[SPEAKER_03]: That'd be really nice.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was, you know, that's it.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was going to technology compared to what we're talking about with Pantheon.
[SPEAKER_03]: But, you know.
[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to be like that guy who talked really fast on the Micro Machines commercial you mean like Steve was Yeah That guy was so cool What's he?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's fun What's he?
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was very cool when I was a kid Yeah, we hear a kid though, yeah, yeah
[SPEAKER_02]: So probably it wouldn't be that cool now.
[SPEAKER_02]: It seems like kind of a door.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I rewatched this episode.
[SPEAKER_03]: I rewatched this episode guys since I didn't watch the episode last week.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I did, but just like a week before.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so I was like, yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: I really had very little say during the episode.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I try to remember it all this time.
[SPEAKER_03]: This time I made sure I watched the episode twice.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm locked and ready to go with.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love you.
[SPEAKER_03]: You must be Caspy in episode six.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
[SPEAKER_02]: And a small screen session.
[SPEAKER_02]: So G-mail that covers your toll free travel number.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, even most today.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I guess it's, well, he did Dr. Amanda here.
[SPEAKER_02]: Did you some trivia?
[SPEAKER_02]: Tribby.
[SPEAKER_01]: I've got the trivia.
[SPEAKER_03]: Tribby, that was very, that was very, that was very, yeah, it was, it was very big.
[SPEAKER_01]: Where I was watching this episode and again, like last week, really big implications for humanity.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I was thinking about humanity in general and the things that we've come up with over our time here on Earth.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to talk about, you know, like big inventions throughout human history.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's our topic today.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we could be, it could be anywhere.
[SPEAKER_01]: We could be anywhere on the time on the time of human.
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, this is Robert Fulton, Steve Bowen.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not the time of dinosaurs.
[SPEAKER_03]: You don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, guess them all out.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're in a change of machine parts, which was probably a bigger deal when you get down to it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because that also is dramatic of a terrible impact on slavery, which is also a great result.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right, you know.
[SPEAKER_01]: There is that, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: The third number one, we're going to go to 1775.
[SPEAKER_01]: In 1775, the invention of a fixture named after a letter allowed water to collect and act as a seal enabling the modern version of this.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're talking about a U-banded pipe.
[SPEAKER_01]: We are, and then what did that lead to?
[SPEAKER_02]: Modern plumbing.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think, individual plumbing, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Specifically, please be more specific.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, Felix.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, we're looking at the flush toilet, which, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a pretty big one.
[SPEAKER_03]: I like them.
[SPEAKER_01]: A lot less, yeah, you know, a lot less dysentery in the world.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's pretty important.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad you're going to go on like the open pit latrine like in, uh, cheer, no, no, no, not at all.
[SPEAKER_01]: And in researching this little bit, I saw latrine as a thing because that's a good natural source of water that would then carry stuff away.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'd get that right.
[SPEAKER_01]: It would be a thing that you went in and then maybe it was by a river or whatever.
[SPEAKER_01]: So there was water that would come in like wash it away.
[SPEAKER_01]: But then we just got these nice little seats in our house and the very convenient.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty good because there.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they've really helped us not get sick so much.
[SPEAKER_03]: We are and you know who else's pro-toilet probably might go be a Morgan peak Most of my friends group our friends group right that baseball player the big dog
[SPEAKER_01]: uh number two in the United States production of this invention was at 21 billion units in 1943 and up to 1,663 billion units in 1944.
[SPEAKER_01]: Something to do with World War II obviously, but I mean, yeah, kind of was around the same time that we really, your world started producing it.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'll say, 10 to foods.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was trying.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that could be so.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying not to beat you up.
[SPEAKER_03]: So many things.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I don't know idea.
[SPEAKER_01]: When I say bomb.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a healthcare item.
[SPEAKER_01]: Billion units.
[SPEAKER_01]: We produced these units of this thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it had to do with little things that grow.
[SPEAKER_03]: razor blade.
[SPEAKER_01]: When you think about how Jesus made and then what grows on it and gives us flavor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then what did we discover with mold that then we made a lot of and it saved people's lives?
[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of silly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, kind of silly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Penicillin.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know, maybe I made it to obscure thinking of life.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're like, how much really is easy?
[SPEAKER_03]: These widgets.
[SPEAKER_03]: What were these widgets?
[SPEAKER_01]: Within number three is within 300 years, this invention went from helping to make household objects to completely changing the way humans battled in ancient warfare.
[SPEAKER_01]: because it was first used to make things that were house-hold objects to hold things that were made out of ceramic or pottery.
[SPEAKER_02]: And for a?
[SPEAKER_01]: So it went from making, helping to make pottery to film, I guess?
[SPEAKER_01]: No, to making a thing that was used as transportation and warfare.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, okay, the wheel, the wheel.
[SPEAKER_03]: So, is someone who writes a place for a living?
[SPEAKER_03]: I want to offer you some advice.
[SPEAKER_01]: Please do.
[SPEAKER_03]: You've got to like, there needs to be some signals, some cues.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I got nothing, I have the wheel, okay?
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the wheel, so it was a pottery wheel, and then it was used three hundred years later to make terriots.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: God, there's only two more.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a broad category that spans almost all of humanity.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, when was the birth of humanity?
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm starting at 4,000 BCE.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it includes these things, ethanol, opium, nitrous oxide, ether, chloroform, barbosol.
[SPEAKER_03]: Huffin, middocin, Huffin.
[SPEAKER_01]: What's an area of medicine that includes these things?
[SPEAKER_03]: Huffinology?
[SPEAKER_03]: Can I see theology?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, anesthesia, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: See those a little bit better.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that was a good one.
[SPEAKER_03]: I like that one, because I got it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and the last one is it was an Austrian monk who liked to grow pee plants on his monastery, who known as the person who helped figure this out.
[SPEAKER_03]: DNA.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's right.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, like, genes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Genetics.
[SPEAKER_01]: Genetics.
[SPEAKER_01]: Genetics.
[SPEAKER_01]: Genetics.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, hang on.
[SPEAKER_03]: What's this fucking name?
[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, shit.
[SPEAKER_03]: Did you know it?
[SPEAKER_03]: Have it in front of you?
[SPEAKER_02]: Mendoly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Man.
[SPEAKER_03]: That sounds right.
[SPEAKER_03]: What?
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I think so.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: A mental.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, thank you.
[SPEAKER_02]: One is periodic table.
[SPEAKER_02]: The other one is.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I was thinking.
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to forever be known as the peak points.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that Mike already has it.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, I'll try to be a little bit more.
[SPEAKER_01]: I felt like last time I had trivia Travis, you were just like, I got two words out and you were shouting out the answer.
[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, it was movie stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's so fun.
[SPEAKER_01]: As, or was it, or was it a music or movie?
[SPEAKER_01]: Music, I think it was music.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was like one hit wonder, so something like that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I can't find a middle ground.
[SPEAKER_02]: I got to find a movie's last week and Travis crushed that one too.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so don't do music or movies and I'll lose.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't necessarily want you to lose.
[SPEAKER_01]: I just want to find a middle ground of not too easy and not too obscure and weird.
[SPEAKER_03]: It is a hard thing to do, just a battle.
[SPEAKER_03]: You did.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, thank you.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for that support.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, shall we start the main portion of the show here?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's do it.
[SPEAKER_01]: We should, we're not on a sad sack note again.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh, no, he managed to hold you.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's a small show.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, no, he might be the show.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to be in that way.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we began with Caspy and Driving Carey to remote hospital.
[SPEAKER_02]: And Carey says, no hospitals keep driving.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'll say, believe that you located.
[SPEAKER_02]: And Lori is monitoring Caspean and Hannah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And Caspean was marked absent in school, and the Hannah isn't posting to the socials, like she usually does.
[SPEAKER_02]: And David and Ellen don't get it to finish their debate about the proper time to contact Caspean because Lori is glitching and Cody is freaking out.
[SPEAKER_02]: And Caspean conducts another car interrogation.
[SPEAKER_02]: Kerry devolved things of Caspean as his son and his son wants to know who Van Lewin is.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then Kerry loses consciousness and Caspean calls out to his dad.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're not that.
[SPEAKER_03]: And you know, I just like to comment on what a great
[SPEAKER_03]: job Paul Dana was doing with this vocal work.
[SPEAKER_03]: I really feel like I keep forgetting that's him.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, like it really sounds like a kid.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a different kind of cadence than you ordinarily uses.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's really put on like a character for this.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's doing a really great job.
[SPEAKER_03]: This cast.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're pretty sure the more and more is the show goes down.
[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that line when he looks over and says, Dad, I was thinking about that.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, oh, is he scared and he's reverting or is he doing it on purpose to try and like, wake him up?
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he would respond to that.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think it's both and it just was really good.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's a good thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: uh... medieval and tears to contact caspian since they're already sort of a quainted and simultaneously cast for caspian reaches out to mediate the number where he reshared before just in declines to call in favor of burger because it will pick up an unknown number these days we don't do that that's just dangerous at this point
[SPEAKER_02]: And we've rolled cruddies, and then the band is all back together, chonded in the nonverbal phantoms.
[SPEAKER_01]: Woo!
[SPEAKER_01]: What kind of band would that be?
[SPEAKER_03]: We already discussed that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Are they like Indian, Indian pop?
[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It reminds me of there's a weird band called like the fabulous pink dots.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like this weird abstract thing, but yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I like that we have that now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Chanda in the say it again.
[SPEAKER_02]: This type like it's a chanda in the non-verbal fandoms.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think we had variations.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay, okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, Chondon Melts' ideas off his bandmates for creating the Metaverse, except with details, such as waterfalls, mountains, and crucially, legs.
[SPEAKER_02]: Cody assesses Chondons and its stable, Laurie and David discussing their integration with Chondon, as a possible cure for the zero-day flaw.
[SPEAKER_02]: Justine patches caspying through to Medi because burger over.
[SPEAKER_02]: Just he can adapt the role refer in talk at the same time.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was good.
[SPEAKER_03]: She's not even doing it on a table or nothing.
[SPEAKER_03]: She's like free-handed in the air.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's hard.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a skill.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's hard.
[SPEAKER_03]: For once, she's not using a table to do it on there.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then for two, she's not using a bill or nothing to roll.
[SPEAKER_03]: She's just totally free-handed.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just like, I don't know, gunsling or something.
[SPEAKER_01]: Is it that you need something to stabilize so like the paper doesn't like bend and dump out weed?
[SPEAKER_01]: Is that what you're talking about?
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's just easier.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you're dealing with a bunch of subs, like a bunch of flakes of shit.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like a bunch of stems, you know?
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, is it like tissue paper?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, kind of.
[SPEAKER_01]: Is that thin like tissue paper?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[UNKNOWN]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think yeah, yeah, you need something to stabilize that or else you could just dump it everywhere and then people would be saying now you now you get my point Got it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay, so she's a pro is what we've learned things.
[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for these insights We've also learned Amanda is not a week.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, right In her forties learning about weed And just in voice by mod appatile, I learned this episode like oh, mod
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, so in turn, Maddie patches the call through to the U.I.verse group chat, and IRL, Ellen, Comedyers, Maddie's phone, sets the Ron Willick edition and ends call.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes Ellen drops these little things where I want to look at her and be like, okay, but who are you?
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought there was going to be more to her story.
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought she was going to have more of a...
[SPEAKER_03]: spy background of some murder and they are going to go head to head at some point.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be awesome.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: That is going to be good.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because she just jumps on there like, okay, meet us here with this, where it's usually, she makes the comment like usually there won't be cars there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, how do you know that, Ellen?
[SPEAKER_01]: She's driving off to the
[SPEAKER_01]: No, it was a racetrack.
[SPEAKER_03]: Was everyone else?
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: She had them, yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, a racetrack.
[SPEAKER_01]: A racetrack.
[SPEAKER_03]: She's mysterious.
[SPEAKER_01]: What did you do when Alan?
[SPEAKER_01]: She is so mysterious.
[SPEAKER_02]: She's, she knows this because she's always placing bets.
[SPEAKER_02]: She knows when racetrack is.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Meanwhile, at the Legion of Doom, board Q, B, Q.
[SPEAKER_02]: We have, uh, it's going for my 70s cartoon, like Justice League.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was, it came across.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, accurate.
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, Pope is basking in the holstrom shrine, Steven's office, as he left it, like in movies with degree of parents and never allowed visitors into their dead child's room.
[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, we're pretty creepy when it's reverence for boss slash cult leader there.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, right.
[SPEAKER_03]: And before we saw him in the office, we saw like the outside of the building, you know, it's just like a big black box.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I just like to point out that like this this set, this show has so many shades of bodies, which was the last show we did on this podcast.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then like every time I see that big black box in the snow, I think it was dark matter.
[SPEAKER_01]: With more backstory about Chandra, I kept thinking about, again, about Nate from Chandra, so when you think about someone that feels like they're powerless, but like he's very smart, but he's like feeling powerless, and then has these oversized
[SPEAKER_01]: reactions of like anger or like aggressiveness when they get power or something like that.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then the other part of Chanda reminded me of Oh the old guy that was stuck in the one place who's the show about the blue guy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, sorry.
[SPEAKER_03]: Wait.
[SPEAKER_03]: What?
[SPEAKER_01]: My brain.
[SPEAKER_03]: The laden watchman.
[SPEAKER_01]: No.
[SPEAKER_01]: The blue guy.
[SPEAKER_01]: The comics.
[SPEAKER_01]: The comics.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Watchman.
[SPEAKER_01]: He reminded me of what's his face.
[SPEAKER_03]: Azimanda.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because you like when he was on this little island with all of his like.
[SPEAKER_01]: like clones that he kept making.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then killing.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then he's like here we make this like this and this like this and he totally reminded of that kind of character.
[SPEAKER_03]: What is that character is named from the Jeremy Irons plays in and in watchman.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm blanking out.
[SPEAKER_03]: Is it auntie Mondays, is that right?
[SPEAKER_02]: I was in Andy's, uh, but I think he has another name like that was his super heroine am, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I guess it doesn't matter.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just, I can't, I couldn't think of it.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like that.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think you Google it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's too much TV and our brain.
[SPEAKER_03]: At least one of our listeners right now is yelling at their speaker right now.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for letting us out.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're so fast.
[SPEAKER_03]: I thought you were real nerds.
[SPEAKER_02]: Shut it off right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: uh... van Lewin comes in and asks Pope if he wants to talk about it and Pope calls him a shitty shrink to deflect
[SPEAKER_02]: And they've been looned, being a great trick, needles folk with a quick series of questions for Vulcan reaction, they've been looned, it againifies it's thinata phobia rather than dedication to the laws.
[SPEAKER_01]: Which, yes, we've seen a lot of, we've had a bunch of these conversations and I literally sat up and went, oh, they're putting the finger on it.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're not the only ones that see it.
[SPEAKER_03]: These people that are obsessed with power.
[SPEAKER_03]: they don't have a normal acceptance of the reality of death that most of us.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_02]: So to take his mind of it, Van Lewis, I encourage his folks to focus on the current mission.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then team Kim and Cassie and meet face-to-face in a parking lot.
[SPEAKER_03]: Cody says he's been living the stealth life for a year and can fool a hospital with and I think it credentials yes he's kind of like maybe that's true but you also sounds like he's full of shit because he has full of shit because he's he's playing something but I like that moment before that where they all just but they both get out of the car kind of stare each other and like no tumble we blow his past but it might as well have
[SPEAKER_03]: It's scary to the for a minute, but then finally Maddie opens her mouth and there's blood on Caspy then she's like, are you okay?
[SPEAKER_03]: That's her first concern which I think speaks about her and how she feels about Caspy
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, and then back in Mumbai, the protests continues for alliances severed connection, pre-teas neighbor predicts nationalization of the cellular network, while she boasts that her phone still functions because of her son.
[SPEAKER_02]: The important engineer is definitely still alive, but just busy.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he thinks she's a crazy lady.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, you mean the one that never video chats?
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, this lady's nuts, phones don't work.
[SPEAKER_01]: She's over here talking to somebody.
[SPEAKER_01]: She's crazy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, Vino de Chanda is performing in a lab little death ritual when pre-teacals.
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, Vino de Amma contacting him to demonstrate privilege in front of her balcony neighbor.
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, but shit, you know, it gets real and virtual when Amma reveals her correspondence with Lori.
[SPEAKER_02]: and Chanda tells us, oh ma, to DTFO, while crushing a virtual manifestation of an IP address of this fist.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I love to this.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're only gonna see that on this show.
[SPEAKER_03]: You can't see that kind of thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my gosh.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Lori talked to her, her whole interpretation was like, okay, this is the woman, and they're gonna get together and it's gonna be fine.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, this is a good thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Maddie and Kasfian ride in the backseat of Ellen's car like they still require car seats for children and they arrive at Sheikin and Maddie leads Kasfian upstairs for a room.
[SPEAKER_02]: There are two terabytes of Kasfian monitoring files.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Kasfian and Kasfian
[SPEAKER_02]: Many offers a VR headset and David's guidance to make sense of it all.
[SPEAKER_02]: David has been listening in for the duration.
[SPEAKER_03]: I like that she kicks over stuff animals the other way, too, like, you know, like, just like it does appear because it's moved to feet.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was cute.
[SPEAKER_01]: And in cast me in here, it's like upset.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this is kind of the, one of the first times we've seen him,
[SPEAKER_01]: give this much emotion, I think, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Is there's been a couple of times, but to Maddie, he was like, I can't help you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he's clearly feeling very overwhelmed.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And she handles it pretty well.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, like, she runs away, but like, like, when he's like, I can't help you.
[SPEAKER_03]: She's like, okay, like, she just accepts that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, this is about you.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I'm trying to just do this for you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she's like the most.
[SPEAKER_03]: Emotionally mature person in the show.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like the most empathetic.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, but she's got boundaries.
[SPEAKER_01]: She's got.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: She's great.
[SPEAKER_02]: Cassie's curiosity compels a click on a whole stream video file.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's about as early as memory of wet tile falling after crawling from the bath.
[SPEAKER_01]: This was the first time you clicked in my hand that they were wearing the same outfit.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's been like this, the whole show, but this whole, like, I'm like, oh my gosh, Caspin is always has black jeans and a gray shirt, just like Steven Holstrom.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I would think of that scene was, you know, Caspin's watching that and the odds of him having the same first memory,
[SPEAKER_03]: are like an infinitesimally low, that didn't happen for him.
[SPEAKER_03]: His first memory, there's no way that's what it was for him.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I mean?
[SPEAKER_03]: There's so many things that they just could not possibly recreate whatever they're fucking inflection points, that's just that how things work, how people work.
[SPEAKER_01]: In my head, I kept thinking about these fucked up people recreating
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that would not surprise me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh, this is an important inflection point.
[SPEAKER_01]: So like, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're just like dropping the button to be unsupervised.
[SPEAKER_03]: Drop your button.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's, that's, that's so fucked up.
[SPEAKER_02]: Justine and Maddie have the shit's crazy and everything's cool moment that people have been trying to sell themselves on since the dawn of the atomic age.
[SPEAKER_02]: Justine the Greek news is announced for investment in the narrative.
[SPEAKER_02]: And now, Cody does yet another car extortion with Carrie.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, Cassian, he of the stupid name, is confronted with video of his genetic donor finius named for a character in John Moles, a separate piece from 1959 about a popular job attending boarding school in New England, New England, New World War II.
[SPEAKER_02]: Caspian watches video of Rachel Brooks aka Hannah refusing acts of intimacy in the whole scheme cattle.
[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, the Epstein files, but the whole string files.
[SPEAKER_02]: We got this, he took a bit of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: But then not, you know, she refuses, but then oh.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they don't really accept a refusal.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, no, you've signed on.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is what's happening.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll pay you extra.
[SPEAKER_03]: We can talk about that.
[SPEAKER_03]: But you're doing this and then he flashed like, you know, thinking of their intimate times together and like, oh, that's not going to fuck a young teenage boy up to learn that his like his sexual experiences with what he thought was the woman who loved him were in fact transactional.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't know what's first.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, early.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it says, but still, he's a younger, he's a teenager.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a, he's pretty awkward.
[SPEAKER_03]: He might think, like, good looking, but he's very socially, you know, in the app didn't, like, pretty.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's true.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we saw his reddit cave.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's the playlist person on the show.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's a good reddit boy though on the scale of reddit boys.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's a good reddit boy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: So far Van Luin and Holster discussed nominated with nomadative determinism.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, try that again.
[SPEAKER_00]: Phenomenon.
[SPEAKER_00]: Phenomenon.
[SPEAKER_00]: Phenomenon.
[SPEAKER_02]: That worked.
[SPEAKER_02]: Cass being camped there to see video of sick events laughing along with hostrooms dismissal of all infants that aren't hostroom infants.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he bolts for tree and the Kim's backyard to try to breathe and then settles underneath it.
[SPEAKER_02]: And here we are.
[SPEAKER_02]: Empath Matty sits down beside him, gives him the kid gloves treatment even though he's older, just anything for a solution for her father David.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then, here's her Caspy and Setsel off their trial below and for the simulation theory of existence.
[SPEAKER_02]: And fucking old soul maddie stairs into the distance, the reminisces about David's death and how his death caused her to perceive the world.
[SPEAKER_02]: Momentarily, yes, Anton, inauthentic until she came to terms with her father's death and suddenly the world seemed all too real and it sucked.
[SPEAKER_02]: I found that incredibly, really.
[SPEAKER_01]: was amazing.
[SPEAKER_01]: And she's basically describing classic like the surreal feeling.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Disassociation from that grief where the things feel surreal, but I loved how she kind of flipped it in both ways, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: She had said things like both ways in both of them sucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they have
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like the body language you're too.
[SPEAKER_02]: So you have Maddie sitting in full son and the lotus pose while actually touching grass and a ladybug while casfians hugging his knees and dAppled shit.
[SPEAKER_03]: Hmm.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_03]: I like the use of space too because when he sits down there, you can tell like a person's going to fill the space and then Maddie comes in.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But he can't handle that sun direct sunshine.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's true.
[SPEAKER_03]: He needs a high band at the very end of that.
[SPEAKER_02]: So after their trauma bonding, both David and Caspeen don't know what they are, so they should have a lot to talk about, Maddie quips.
[SPEAKER_02]: And Maddie hands Caspeen a VR kit and waits for the introduction, or waits for the introduction to happen.
[SPEAKER_02]: David and then Lori Greek Caspeen.
[SPEAKER_02]: and Caspy and understandably would like proof that they're not fake ass fake fucking fakers front and like everyone else as in his life.
[SPEAKER_00]: Ah, yes, it's poor kid, gone.
[SPEAKER_02]: David offered a sizzle factory coding to Caspy and his proof of concept.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that was really cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: His eyes, it was cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: Caspy and his eyes were just so, like,
[SPEAKER_01]: It captured it perfectly, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: It's almost like there's fear, but also wonder and curiosity.
[SPEAKER_01]: And like, my brain is primed for this.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
[SPEAKER_02]: This point, Van Luen rushes into Pope's office to let him know Kerry has been located in a Palo Alto hospital.
[SPEAKER_02]: Pope wonders why Kerry would offer his real name.
[SPEAKER_02]: Van Luen says he believes his cry for help,
[SPEAKER_02]: So he suggests Deirdre is a point of contact.
[SPEAKER_03]: I am loving Michael Kelly is that psychiatrist too.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like he's so soothing and creepy, but also kind of...
[SPEAKER_03]: like comforting and casual.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's like, all these things at once.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's so good.
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to do, I had that exact note that it's creepy, but also comforting, and there's shades of all of that in there, and it was, it's so good.
[SPEAKER_03]: And again, doesn't sound necessarily like you always.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like you can tell, he's doing a character here.
[SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't just sound like my friend.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right?
[SPEAKER_03]: That's his name, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna say this name, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's one of those names, you know, like, I am John David.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, boy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, Cody relates to Ellen that Kerry will survive while Cassian has quickly adapted to examining code minority report style.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: She saw the movie, my lady.
[SPEAKER_03]: Cody, that to it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So Cody did not give his ID and it seems like Carrie gave his own name At some point.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what it does seem like it doesn't seem like Cody gave Carrie's name because he might not even have known his last name Okay
[SPEAKER_02]: So after he starts fucking with the money already report style stuff, uh, cast me into it's a memory rotation solution.
[SPEAKER_02]: Just if we know Chanda invades the virtual A-frame getaway.
[SPEAKER_02]: And Chanda freezes out the flash and blood meeting participants to address the UIs by overclocking UI reaction time relative to the skin suits.
[SPEAKER_03]: Which is your joke in the beginning of this episode.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, for the aid for people that were just catching on like myself.
[SPEAKER_01]: When Caspian is looking at this, this is a callback to that scene with Carrie at the dinner table, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: When he's talking about doing more with less, wasn't that a line from that problem Carrie gave him at the dinner table?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: Good catch Amanda.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks.
[SPEAKER_01]: I feel cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: David is skeptical of Chanda and demands an explanation for Chanda's fiery execution of the Leigh Pyrusod family.
[SPEAKER_03]: And he came in like a god.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, as soon as he froze everybody else, it's like, hey, hey, I'm cool.
[SPEAKER_03]: What is all cool?
[SPEAKER_03]: This is just crap.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: But like still like you came in like, like, mellow.
[SPEAKER_03]: Brandessing a weapon.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, this is not friendly behavior Chanda.
[SPEAKER_02]: Game in pretty fucking hot didn't they literally like it was flames around him Next guy loves flair So sorry excuse for David is just we see like an anger management problem montage
[SPEAKER_02]: I've always had this problem.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, hey buddy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just that fire is a manifestation of what he feels like his insides are.
[SPEAKER_03]: In earlier in the episode he was like, I am not a killer.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then like yeah, you've killed four people at least that we know of.
[SPEAKER_03]: And
[SPEAKER_03]: He demonstrates it like, yeah, his temper got at it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like he knows exactly what happened.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's like this dual awareness, or this dual thing happening where there's like awareness and cognitive, you know, this and this happening because he's like, he's aware that he has a temper.
[SPEAKER_03]: He knows that he overreacts sometimes in like, and does things that are bad.
[SPEAKER_03]: But like, I'm not a killer, I'm not a bad guy, I'm not a bad person, like, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that was the first time we've seen her do that specific glitch out kind of thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Or, yeah, it freaked me out.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's exactly the same as those.
[SPEAKER_03]: People.
[SPEAKER_02]: The plan?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: The plan?
[SPEAKER_03]: The plan?
[SPEAKER_02]: Candaces.
[SPEAKER_02]: The fandoms are all copies of the same slum dog one year and it's unaware of the flaw.
[SPEAKER_02]: Chonda Luke's casting back into the chat to demand a solution before immediately dismissing the possibility due to the logarithms projected timeline.
[SPEAKER_02]: uh... chanda region's helip ui tech to powerful international intelligence agencies with the night hubris of populating the up blue diverse with uh... and in a tiny to control the ui quote and quote gods and david points out that chanda was unaware of the floor and thus ill-equipped and chanda literally comes back down to earth in the simulation
[SPEAKER_02]: And David says, and like so many gods before us, we're going to die.
[SPEAKER_02]: The only question is how many humans we take with us.
[SPEAKER_02]: And as a man in Uncle Ben was a liar with great power comes corruption and exploitation and death.
[SPEAKER_02]: In Uncle Ben, in every iteration of Europe.
[SPEAKER_02]: uh... caspy for one gets the plane at a month until extinction and plans to check out and enjoy the time he has remaining he ignores maddie's plea to step into the box and swing for the fences uh... it's hoping day i wish you want to baseball reference and i wouldn't suspect it's all right do it and that's it for the episode so what were the countries that chanda he was like israel russia around the u.s. the u.k.
[SPEAKER_03]: Is that it?
[SPEAKER_01]: Tehran.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's that's Iran.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're just Tehran.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's an Israel.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're from another one.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But some like that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a pretty good idea.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a nice idea.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, China.
[SPEAKER_01]: Did you say China?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was like all the countries that like it was all the all the world powers that are basically getting involved in the current war.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, so like because these are the most.
[SPEAKER_03]: delicate power so like this is all the ones that are going to almost certainly abuse this and and do this and what he's like what he's invited is terrifying he's going to create a bunch of flawed gods.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I have this in reaction.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, in competition.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, chosen specifically
[SPEAKER_01]: because these are specifically groups that are going to be real suspicious with each of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right, right.
[SPEAKER_02]: Even as a eyes being weaponized for right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, about then.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, there's there's our sour note to end on as Amanda predicted.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I'm still enjoying the show.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's, it gives me play to think about, but yeah, it is a little bit of a bummer every episode in a way, because it mirrors so much of what we have going on just taking like this great length, you know, the great extent.
[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we hope, I mean, that's the weird part, is because it seems like this fantastical cartoon, but then there's all these real things tucked in there, so it's deceptive.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think.
[SPEAKER_01]: Or deceptive.
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, oh, you sound like we're going ahead, we're going to say.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was just going to say, I saw there's a documentary about AI coming here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm very curious.
[SPEAKER_01]: When did they make us?
[SPEAKER_03]: It comes out tomorrow in our timeline.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's very new.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm thinking that the time that it takes for a movie to be made.
[SPEAKER_01]: But this is about AI when things are changing so fast.
[SPEAKER_01]: It makes me curious what the lead time was for this.
[SPEAKER_01]: When these interviews are taking place, et cetera.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was going to ask, who does Aaron Eckhart voice in the show again?
[SPEAKER_02]: Kerry.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's also doing a really good job because I don't hear that at all.
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't hear Aaron Eckhart at all.
[SPEAKER_02]: I can hear it a little bit when he gets mad.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'll have to try it now that I know that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Perfect.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think you're totally before, but I'll have to pay a little bit more attention.
[SPEAKER_03]: But I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's doing pretty good work here too.
[SPEAKER_03]: Everybody is.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, kill it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the cast is nuts.
[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone's really good job.
[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely fantastic.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah All right, well, is that it?
[SPEAKER_01]: We like it.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're just scared.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're scared human.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's good, but we're scared Yeah, I'm ready to get back to baseball.
[SPEAKER_03]: All right Dude, I'm ready to go to bed
[SPEAKER_03]: Bye everybody.
[SPEAKER_02]: We need to take Guardian Rose beef.
[SPEAKER_02]: You go to bed.
[SPEAKER_03]: You go to bed.
[UNKNOWN]: You go to bed.
