Speaker 1: Hi Warriors, Welcome to Aren't You Worried? I'm your host,

Lauren Perry. That's not my name, that's a that's a

new one ever matter, I'm your host Lauren Perry, and

joining me this week is my main squeeze my Megan Murray,

Hi Megan, how are you? Hello?

Speaker 2: I'm good.

Speaker 1: Thank you for being here, Thanks for having me back.

I'm so happy you're here. This is officially the one

year of aren't you Worried? So happy when your universary too,

aren't you worried?

Speaker 2: Congratulation? Thank you?

Speaker 1: How are you? How is your summer? Ben hav any

fun plans coming up?

Speaker 3: Got some camping coming up in the next month, so yeah,

hopefully it'll be fun.

Speaker 2: Other than that, nothing too much.

Speaker 1: I just work.

Speaker 2: Yeah, my life is boring. I've been dabbling a little

bit more in karaoke. Love yep, I'm having a great time.

Good not good by any means no.

Speaker 3: But you know what, when it's eleven thirty at night,

nobody cares.

Speaker 2: No, They're just happy to see you up there.

Speaker 1: I think, No, what what are some karaoke songs that

you've been singing?

Speaker 2: Let me tell you, Lease, the crowd really enjoys some Creed.

Im holdman now?

Speaker 1: Yep?

Speaker 2: Was that song called One Last Breath?

Speaker 3: Okay, that's like my go to and I'll usually sign

off with.

Speaker 2: Uh the Killers.

Speaker 3: Sure, mister Brightside, yep, fan favorite everywhere, everywhere, like everywhere.

Speaker 2: You can never have too much, mister Brightside.

Speaker 1: I feel like no, I agree. I also like that

your choices aren't basic. They're not sweet Caroline, they're not wop.

Speaker 3: If I could sing all things Creed everywhere I go,

I would.

Speaker 2: That anything about me.

Speaker 1: Are you going to Creed when they come to town?

Speaker 3: No, I'm actually really disappointed because that's when we're gonna

be in Rochester. Oh sure, So had we not been

that far away and then coming up here, being all

the way up here, I would have thought about it.

Speaker 2: But I don't want to go.

Speaker 1: That's a long time, that's a lot of travel. Yeah,

just for arms Wide Open? And what's the other Creed song?

Speaker 2: Higher?

Speaker 1: Higher?

Speaker 3: I mean, I can write you a whole list. We

don't have time of the day for all of the

songs Creed has.

Speaker 1: I just think it's funny because was it last summer

two summers ago that Creed was that Treasure Island that

we talked about going, yes, and now they're back again.

I'm like, is Creed having come back?

Speaker 2: Okay?

Speaker 3: So I actually saw so the lead singer of Creed is.

Speaker 2: Scott stap and he was at Fest.

Speaker 1: Oh amazing.

Speaker 3: Yep, So I saw him live at rip Fest. Sure,

and he sang a couple of his like solo songs,

but mostly it was Creed. So love like, I'd love

to actually go see the whole entire band.

Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's a fun time.

Speaker 1: Since we're talking about bands, is this a good time,

since we're on the podcast to try to convince you

to go with me to see why am I making

a motionless in white the plot? And you and the

Devil War's Prada?

Speaker 2: Where when is that?

Speaker 1: November eleventh? It's a Tuesday at Target Center.

Speaker 3: I could probably be persuaded, Okay, pretty easily.

Speaker 2: I do like all of them.

Speaker 3: I think Bear Tooth is also coming around.

Speaker 1: Is going to the myth either the week before or

the week after, but also on a Tuesday.

Speaker 2: I'm not going to the myth on a Tuesday.

Speaker 1: No, we've done that actually to Bear too right.

Speaker 3: No, that one's way a little too far from me.

Speaker 1: Yeah, that was fine a couple of years ago, but

on a school night.

Speaker 2: It's a school night. Yeah, that's a and that's a.

Speaker 3: The last time I went to a show at the Myth,

I didn't get home till after one am.

Speaker 1: Why can't we start going back to that one that's

not a fillmore? Yes?

Speaker 2: Why can't we start that one's nice? It's super easy

to get to.

Speaker 1: Yes, or like bring back stuff that isn't it's not

dumb stuff that's not well, maybe it is dumb. Yeah,

like stop doing d M at the Armory, bring back

rock shows to the Armory.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 1: Well I'd love to see more, even just like in

man Cato, Oh my gosh, absolutely, like I.

Speaker 3: Don't country it seems like or like really old people

who are past their prime.

Speaker 1: Yeah.

Speaker 3: So like they have great venues for bands that are

not you know like bring Me the Horizon big, but

you know smaller we've seen in this moment, Bringgiment.

Speaker 1: Pop a roach there. I would argue that they're not.

I mean, they've been around for twenty years, but they're.

Speaker 2: Still Yeah, so I'd like to see more.

Speaker 3: We just went to the Amphitheater to go see MGK

and with Khalifa and I would go to more shows

there also.

Speaker 1: How was it?

Speaker 3: I loved it. It's such a fun atmosphere. It was

the perfect night for outdoor music and if you ever

get a chance, I highly recommend it.

Speaker 2: It's huge.

Speaker 1: Okay. My issue with it is that I've heard it's

not fully covered, like actually it's barely covered, which is fine,

but it floods when it rains, yes, and I just

I don't like being in the heat.

Speaker 3: So the seats that we had actually were perfect, okay,

because we were in.

Speaker 2: The shade the whole time.

Speaker 1: Oh amazing.

Speaker 3: If you get the lawn tickets, which are going to

be the cheaper option, that is fully in the side

and sure, like I suppose the whole time. I think

we spent somewhere around like sixty five dollars for our seats,

and it was not obstructed by any means, and we

were in the shade the whole time, even when the

sun was out.

Speaker 2: I can tell you what section to look for.

Speaker 1: Section we can talk about the Yeah, we don't want

everyone to know what section.

Speaker 3: Edit that part because I don't want people getting.

Speaker 2: That one my little secret.

Speaker 3: That's the first thing we noticed when we got like

into the Amphitheater so the parking, there's a lot of parking.

Speaker 2: We kind of cheated the parking.

Speaker 3: Oh, we got in there, and then as we were

walking in, we could see them blocking off the closer spots.

Speaker 2: We weren't supposed to.

Speaker 3: We were supposed to keep going and I'm like, this

is right next to the exit. I'm parking right now.

And obviously we found out later that that probably wasn't

where we're supposed to do it. Whatever, I don't care.

Speaker 2: I did it.

Speaker 3: So then you walk up there's a big it's slanted,

so it's pretty hilly to get up there. I think

there are elevators in the venue. There are elevators. I

do know that, okay, But we walked up a ramp

to get up and then went through security super easy.

Speaker 2: And then you get up there.

Speaker 3: So like the main floor has a shit ton of bars.

Oh it's they've got like a huge lawn area for

you to find. If you can find chairs or people

bring their blankets, they can sit down. They have like

they had bags for you to play. There was a

handful of food trucks there if you didn't want you know,

just the basic grilled item or the grill items. Sure,

but we never waited in line for food or alcohol

for more than five minutes. They have ample bathrooms. And

then when we walked in, the first thing we note

like we found our section and this first thing we

noticed like this was probably think doors opened up four.

We probably got there a little after four thirty five o'clock.

Speaker 2: Okay, in the shade. So yeah, I'll let you know

the secret.

Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you, I appreciate that. Are you ready to

get into today's episode? Go? Okay? I'd like to give

a shout out to my main source for this week.

I watched an episode of Mean Girl Murders.

Speaker 2: Woo.

Speaker 1: So I've watched a couple of episodes of Me and

Girl Murders and the title is true, I've never.

Speaker 2: Heard of that one did like a TV shoe.

Speaker 1: Yeah, I watch it on HBO Max. I think is

where I've been finding it. Okay, but yeah, it's like snapped.

It's like forty eight hours. It's one of those you know,

sit down with interviews, talk to the friends, that kind

of thing. It's wonderful. Really enjoyed it, so picture it.

Megan Buffalo, Minnesota, twenty eleven.

Speaker 2: Where where is Buffalo, Minnesota?

Speaker 1: Buffalo is about forty five minutes west of the Twin Cities. Okay,

it is one of those quintessential small towns. Everyone knows everyone.

If you were in high school and you did something

that somebody else didn't like, everyone knew about it. Buffalo

High School, Home of the Bison, was just typical high school.

It was the basically, you transplant our high your high school,

my high school. It's all the same.

Speaker 3: It's interesting that they went with the name Bison because

I'm pretty sure buffalo and bison are different.

Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so too, but can fact check that later.

Speaker 3: I like about at the Minnesota Zoo and I was young,

Oh they have they have bison there, Okay.

Speaker 2: And they were like not to be mistaken for.

Speaker 1: Buffalo, got it? And You're like, okay, okay.

Speaker 3: And in my head I couldn't tell you how they

how they're different. Sure, but apparently they're.

Speaker 1: Different regions of the US.

Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going with We'll go with that.

Speaker 3: Sure.

Speaker 1: Yep. One time I went to South Dakota and where

we were in South Dakota, they had white buffalo, which

is just buffalo, just a type of buffalo. And one

of my friends who I was with, saw a bunch

of hay bales off in the distance, like those must

be the white Buffalo and I was like, no, but

you are cute.

Speaker 2: Sure.

Speaker 1: So Buffalo High School has your popular girls, your girls

that play sports, your nerdy girls, your goth girls. I

mean they have guys too, but just we're talking about ladies.

Speaker 2: Yes, mean girl murders. Yeah, there's no man in here.

Speaker 1: But well so far. Yeah. But fourteen year old Cheyenne

Cloth was a floater. She was friends with a lot

of different people and a lot of different groups groups.

Her last name is clo ugh, so it's cough with

an L, but I've been pronouncing it kloh in my head,

so I'm trying to stop doing that. But uh. Cheyenne

was not friends with the popular girls because they were

a little too mean for her. Chyanne was a social butterfly.

She wasn't one of those people who needed to be

the center of attention. She was okay just being in

the mix. But she was also one of the first

people to stand up for other people if she saw

them getting bullied, which that means put a target on

her back. With the popular girls, they talked about her hair,

her clothes, her weight because she wasn't a size zero

at the age of fourteen, they found basically anything they

could to pick on her because she was the first

one to say, hey, I don't like that fucking stop

and they didn't really know how to handle her, so they, uh,

you know.

Speaker 2: I hope these people went nowhere in life.

Speaker 1: So once the popular girls or whoever kind of pushed

her to her limit, she would get snippy with them

and they were usually left with like, well, you're fat.

That was kind of the comeback because they didn't have

anything else to say, and she was like, oh.

Speaker 2: Well that was the thing back in twenty eleven.

Speaker 1: Yeah, that was fat in the early oughts was apparently

the worst thing that you could possibly say. Yeah, And

this cruelty from the mean girls meant that her close

circle of friends meant the world to her. Loyalty meant

everything to Cheyenne. She wanted loyalty and trust and that's

what she would give to people in return. And then

Cheyenne hit a certain age and she discovered boys. In

the summer of twenty twelve, Cheyenne confided in her older

sister Nikki that she was pregnant, even though Cheyenne was

only fifteen. Her family was, you know, worried about her

being fifteen and pregnant, but Cheyenne was really excited to

be a mom. She knew it was going to be

a huge life changing moment for her, but she thought

she was ready. Unfortunately, during that summer, the word spread

around Buffalo that Cheyenne was pregnant, and that took the

bullying to a whole new level. To nip the gossip

in the bud, Cheyenne decided to address the rumors on

social media, which I think was very two thousand teens.

Speaker 3: That was like the time of Facebook. Yes, I feel

like becoming really popular. Yes, and you wrote your status

is based off of what you're feeling.

Speaker 2: Yes, yep, you kind of just shared a little too much.

Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So on August seventeenth, twenty twelve, Cheyenne

posted on Facebook. It was kind of a long post

and it was like the whole thing was kind of

blurred out in the mean girl murders, but the first

sentences yes, I am pregnant, and the comments were flooded

with hate. Have you ever heard of condom? Who would

want to have sex with you? That kind of gross stuff.

Pretty quickly after, Cheyenne had her son. She and her

son's father broke up, and Cheyenne was devastated by this.

She thought, I mean, she was fifteen, but she thought

that they were going to get married and live happily

ever after and just be a family. So after they

broke up, Cheyenne moved in well maybe she was already

living with her mom, but Chane was living with her mom,

and her and her mother tried to raise her son together. Ultimately,

they had disagreements on how they thought he should be raised.

Im not saying Cheyenne wasn't do was doing anything wrong.

I'm just saying I'm going to opt with the mother

who's been a mother, knowing maybe how to raise a

one two year old just a little bit better. Yeah,

And so Cheyenne ultimately agreed with her mother, and she

decided that she probably shouldn't be the main caregiver because

she was only sixteen at this time. So her mom

became the son's full time caregiver. Cheyenne kind of removed

herself from that situation and just I'm she was still

his mom, but she moved out of the home. So

now Cheyenne was a high school dropout and she wanted

to make a better life for herself and her young son.

So she dove into work. She worked retail jobs and

restaurant jobs, and it sounded like she like worked retail

in the morning, worked at the restaurant at night. It

seemed like she kind of went into that grind, which

at sixteen seventeen years old, good for you. Yeah, I

did not have that drive.

Speaker 2: No, I still don't.

Speaker 3: I don't know how I used to do it, Like

when I was in college going to school for full

time and then working full time, and then when I

graduated working three.

Speaker 2: Jobs all at once. Oh my god.

Speaker 3: And that's like as a full grown adult being sixteen,

and like that's all your day consists of.

Speaker 2: It's a lot of work.

Speaker 1: It is. So with diving into working, she decided to

get a new place outside of her mom's. So she

found a house in Maple Lake, Minnesota, which is just

outside of Buffalo Cheyenne. Moved into a house that had

two other roommates, and the two roommates had boyfriends that

also lived with them. So, Megan, before you and I

knew each other, I lived in a similar situation, except

there was three boys that were roommates and the three

girlfriends moved in and let me tell you, is not good.

Speaker 2: It just seems not good. It seems like there's a

lot happening.

Speaker 1: There's just a lot of personalities. Yeah, a lot going on, and.

Speaker 2: Well like an easy way to be teamed up against

as well.

Speaker 1: Oh definitely. So yeah, just a lot going on. To

have three roommates, but then additional people will be there.

So Cheyenne moved in with boy crazy nineteen year old

Callie Anderson and her boyfriend Sean Benson. Cheyenne thought that

Cally was really nice and personable, but Kelly was unemployed

and just craved me attention. I mean, she did live

with her boyfriend Sean, but you know, she just kind

of liked to be the center of attention when it

came to everyone. So things between a Cheyenne and Kelly

were really good at first. Cheyenne would post a bunch

of pictures of her and Kelly hanging out, and Cally

really made her feel welcome in the home. And the

second roommate that Cheyenne grew really close to was thirty

three year old Natasha Brandenburger. Natasha was a nurse and

also lived in the house with her boyfriend Justin Jensen.

Natasha wasn't only a nurse though, she was a tattoo artist. Ooh,

that's pretty cool. I mean, you know, Natasha was just

kind of willing to give Chyenna tattoo whenever.

Speaker 2: How did I have a question?

Speaker 3: How did a thirty three year old become roommates with

a nineteen year old?

Speaker 1: What do you mean?

Speaker 2: Just seems a little.

Speaker 3: In Cheyenne's sixteen eighteen.

Speaker 1: So I could see the nineteen year old and a

thirty three year old.

Speaker 2: I find that little interesting.

Speaker 3: I as a thirty three year old, maybe out a couple,

but as a thirty three year old, I don't see

myself hanging out with nineteen year olds for any reason.

Speaker 1: I'm currently thirty three. No, I like sometimes even my

coworkers who are twenty one, I'm just.

Speaker 3: Like those the personnel, like just like the maturity level

of it, and like I understand. You know, you could

put back in the day you put ads on Craigslist

looking for roommates.

Speaker 2: I did that.

Speaker 3: My best roommate was a Craigslist roommate.

Speaker 1: Really that can be very dicey, though, yes, it can

be very dicey, but she turned out to be really awesome.

Speaker 2: Oh yeah, ye, yeah, she was a fun person.

Speaker 3: But I still wouldn't put an ad out on like

Craigslist for a roommate as a thirty three year old,

thinking I would be accepting a nineteen year.

Speaker 2: Old and like vice versa.

Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, I and I probably could have done a

little bit of so first of all, besides, like I

have a couple extra sources, but it was really hard

to find additional information on this case. So basically most

of the bread and butter of this story is from

Mean Girl Murders because mostly it was just like X

and X was did this and this is what they're

sentenced to. That kind of thing. That was kind of

all the articles. Yeah, so I don't really know how

Calli and Natasha linked up. It could have been their boyfriends.

It seems like the boyfriends got along.

Speaker 2: Maybe we should just just just go.

Speaker 3: With the boyfriends or brothers, Okay, okay, I don't know.

Speaker 1: Yeah, like maybe they hung out at this in the

same group of I don't know, Yeah, somehow they ended

up together.

Speaker 2: Somehow it happened.

Speaker 1: So Natasha and Cheyenne's relationship blossomed. The three of them

were thickest thieves very quickly, and so for the first

time since leaving high school, eighteen year old Cheyenne felt

like she had a new and devoted friend group and

they welcomed her with open arms. She felt like she belonged,

She felt safe, and she felt supported. They called themselves

a family, and they would all look out for each other,

and they would always encourage encourage each other to do

good things in life, and they would never turn their

backs on each other. But there was one issue. Natasha

and Calli had boyfriend and Cheyenne was single, so she was,

you know, still the odd man out. But then Cheyenne

met a boy named Devin. Devin was twenty three years old. Uh,

he had an interesting past. He had been in and

out of jail a couple of times. He had stolen

a car, and was possibly allegedly in a gang. I

couldn't like again, I couldn't fact check that at all.

Don't know if you gif gangs put their affiliations online.

I'm assuming they don't.

Speaker 2: I feel like you're not supped.

Speaker 1: I don't think you're supposed to do that at all.

Speaker 2: Times were different back then.

Speaker 1: They were pretty confident about it. On the me and

girl murders episode. I said, well, that could be very sketchy,

so I'm going to say allegedly. But Cheyenne never complained

about any of that. She was completely blinded by love

and their relationship was great. For a couple of weeks,

Cheyenne started confiding in her sister Nikki that Devon was

abusive towards her. But Chyanne really liked Tim and she

wanted to see the best in him. Almost immediately, Cheyenne's

friends from high school, who like they were still in contact.

They were still good friends with her. It was just

they were still you know, they had stayed in high

school together, and Chyanne been out of high school for lives.

She was a mom and they weren't at that time,

so just different lives. But they still kept in touch.

But they expressed concern for Cheyenne in this relationship, and

they even expressed that they were afraid that she might

end up dead if she continued to stay in this relationship.

After the high school days were plagued with mean girls,

Cheyenne was finally enjoying a great life and a love

fest with her housemates. Three roommates, three relationships. What could

go wrong? Cheyenne just loved feeling welcomed at home, and

she had gone through all of these things and that

had brought her to where she was. But as the

new girl in the house, she needed to remember her

place in the household hierarchy, with the oldest couple being

Natasha Brandenburger and boyfriend Justin Jensen being the top of

that hierarchy. Justin's role in the house was master and

you just absolutely not Nope. When they said that on Goos,

I was like, no, no, he did not like it

when you did not listen to him.

Speaker 3: Okay, Buddy, Megan's like, I just absolutely absolutely not.

Speaker 1: Uh. He just had that leader mentality in the house.

And Natasha definitely got her power from Justin, and she

automatically inherited the leadership role of the females and she

expected that people would just fall in line with her.

At first, Natasha and Justin approved of Cheyenne's new relationship

with bad boy Devon, but soon they began to see

some huge red flags with him. Pretty soon, Cheyenne could

never just hang out with the roommates. Devon had to

be there too. It got to the point where Cheyenne

and Devon had to do everything together. Devin was very

protective of her, and if he didn't want to do

something that she wanted to do, they did not do it.

And Devin didn't like or trust people, so Cheyenne never

introduced him to her family, mostly to her sister Nikki,

because weirdly, when you confide in your sibling that your

relationship is abusive, maybe your sibling doesn't want to meet

your abusive partner.

Speaker 2: It's a wild concept.

Speaker 1: Yeah, But because of that, Cheyenne kind of became more isolated.

After a while, it became clear to Cheyenne's friends that

Devin was try to be controlling over what she did. Again,

if he didn't want to do something, they didn't do it.

If he didn't like something she wore, she no longer wore.

It just kind of that.

Speaker 2: It always starts small and then it gets.

Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I I don't want to go do

that thing, don't want I don't really like that person,

I don't want to go. All of a sudden, we

don't see that friend anymore.

Speaker 2: Yep.

Speaker 3: I think you and I are people that could easily

attest to that as well. Like it's just something that

becomes so subtle but then you get conditioned to without

even thinking that's happening, huh, and you just fall into

it absolutely.

Speaker 1: So, as things were going south in her relationship, her

new posse of roommates were keeping a close eye on her.

Chyane believed that these were her people, and as I

mentioned earlier, she was very loyal, very faithful, very trustworthy,

and she expected that back from her new friends. Along

with the roommates being thick as thieves, they also expected

each other to keep each other's secrets as you do.

And it turned out nineteen year old Calli had a

lot of secrets. Callie had a warrant out for her

arrest for assault. She had gone to jail previously for it,

but she had gotten out on bail and then Oopsie

missed her bail hearing ooopsies, Uh, that you're not supposed

to do that. They don't like that.

Speaker 2: They don't like that, so I've.

Speaker 1: Heard, I think, just based on common sense, yeah, they

don't like that. Apparently one night, Cheyenne had learned that

Callie was setting up dates on dating apps, and when

Kelly would go on these dates, instead of showing these

guys a nice time, she would take their money. And

run oh, and Callie tried to get Cheyenne to do

the same thing, but Cheyenne didn't really want any part

of that. Also, her boyfriend didn't want her to have

any part of that.

Speaker 3: I mean, I think there's one time we can say

he is right and that it was.

Speaker 1: Time maybe we don't go rob Man, but uh, Kelly

didn't like being told no. After Cheyenne decided not to

catfish with Calli, the dynamic in the house started to

shift as Cheyenne started to get a dose of Calli's

mean girl side. Callie started talking down to Cheyenne a lot,

and she even went so far as saying, you're honestly

just here to do stuff for us, and Cheyenne confided

in her sister that her roommates were mad at her

because she wasn't doing what they wanted her to do,

and it became very apparent to Cheyenne very quickly that

she was the outsider. On top of Cheyenne getting a

taste of Kelly's mean girl vibes, she also started to

get left out of plans with Calli and Natasha. The

three of them were no longer doing stuff together. It

turned into Cally and Natasha spending all their time together

and Cheyenne was also in the house. Calle would end

up spending time with Natasha because, for lack of a

better term, she was always available, so Cally didn't work,

and Chyenne not only worked, but she had a child,

so Cally was always available for whenever Natasha wanted her

to be. When Cheyenne would go spend time with her son,

Cally and Natasha would hang out, and then at other

times Natasha would hang out with Cheyenne when Calli wasn't around,

maybe if she was just doing something with her boyfriend,

then Natasha would give Cheyenne the time of day, and

the drama with the roommates kind of drove Cheyenne further

and further into Devin. When the girls didn't want to

hang out with her and she wasn't with her son

or wasn't working, she would only spend alone time with him,

and the more time the two spent together in the house,

the more it make the other two couples angry because

they didn't like Debi. He didn't bow down to their hierarchy. Weird.

He probably also didn't call what's his nuts mastery master.

Speaker 3: Yeah, well you won't catch me calling master. I'll tell

you that you can catch a fist before you hear me.

Speaker 2: Calling your master.

Speaker 1: So the whole dynamic was a recipe for disaster. On

June first, twenty sixteen, a call came into the nine

on one dispatch center. Caller, I met crow Spring Park

in Wright County off Highway twenty five. Dispatcher, Yeah, call her.

I just pulled into the park here and there's somebody

laying here. Looks like they're dead. So that day, June first,

twenty sixteen, police officers arrive at crow Spring Park and

across a disturbing scene, they discovered a young female who

was laying face down in the middle of the road.

It appeared to the first responders that she was deceased

upon arrival, but after more crew appeared on the scene,

they were able to determine that she was actually alive.

The injuries that she had were were very concerning to

law enforcement because it appeared that she had bullet holes

to her back and head.

Speaker 2: Oh no.

Speaker 1: She was taken to Buffalo Hospital and was later airlifted

to an extreme trauma center. After canvassing the area, they

learned that at approximately well between two and three am,

residents heard a female screaming and they also heard what

they believed to be gunshots.

Speaker 3: And nobody decided that was a good time to maybe

maybe call the police.

Speaker 1: No hm. The victim was nineteen year old Cheyenne.

Speaker 2: Claw Oh Cheyenne.

Speaker 1: Cheyenne was taken to North Memorial Hospital and her family

was contacted pretty quickly and they were told to get

to the hospital as fast as they possibly could as

the doctor's at North Memorial worked to save Cheyenne's life.

Police talked to Cheyenne's family. Cheyenne's mother told the police

that Cheyenne had actually called her around two forty five

that morning. Because of the hour of the morning, Cheyenne's

mom had not answered the phone, but Cheyenne had left

her a message and the message said I'm on my

way to you. I'll be there soon. Police also interviewed

Chayenne's sister, Nicki, asking her if she knew anything, if

you know, maybe she remembered that Chayen had confided in

her about something in the recent weeks and Nicki just

kind of racked her brain but couldn't think of anything,

but her first thoughts went to Devon. Niki also told

the police that she hadn't been able to get a

hold of Devon, and Nicki knew that based on the

amount of time that Cheyenne and Devon had spent together,

he had to know something. So while the police were

tracking down Devin Boyles, Cheyenne's family also pointed the police

into the direction of another man that Cheyenne had dated

between her baby's father and Devin. This guy's name was Darien.

For the most part, it was all good things surrounding Darien.

Nikki had really liked him, and it seemed that Cheyenne's

other friends and family had liked him as well. He

was really good with Cheyenne's son. It just seems that

the relationship kind of fell apart, and when they broke up,

they had not ended on good terms. So the police

tracked down Darien and they brought him to the station

as a person of interest. The police had learned that

Cheyenne and him had broken up about a year earlier

before the incident had happened, and they had been basically

no contact ever since, so much so that Darien had

blocked Cheyenne on Facebook, like there's no getting through this,

that's a done, done yep. So they sit down with

Darien and he drops kind of a bombshell on the detectives.

He actually knew the whereabouts of Cheyenne's current boyfriend, Devin.

Darien told the police that he had been working with

a bounty hunter who had arrested Devon Boyles. Devin Boyles

was arrested at the Maple Lake home on May thirty first,

twenty sixteen, which was the day before Cheyenne was found

in the park. So this was a great lead to

the investigators. They thanked Darien for his time and he

was free to go at this time, and they headed

down to the jail so they could speak to Devin

Boyle's pause. Clearly, the Buffalo police and the Maple Lake

police are not the same, because I couldn't figure out

for the life of me, because Mingol Murders did not

tell me how they didn't know he was in custody.

And the only thing I can come up with is

that they were separate police stations.

Speaker 2: Separately Yeah, yeah, okay.

Speaker 1: Because I was like, how did do you not know? Yeah?

So that's the only thing I can come up with

is that he was rested in Maple Lake and she

was found in Buffalo, so they have to be two

separate police departments. I'm choosing to believe that that would

make the most sense, but it's also very small town

out there, so I don't I don't know.

Speaker 2: Yeah, listen, I don't know. I can know who's in

the jail roster because I check that every every so often.

So often.

Speaker 1: Oh I was, But.

Speaker 2: I'm not a police officer.

Speaker 3: I'm just a citizen who's bored and I like to

see if I know anybody that got arrested over the weekend.

Speaker 2: Monday is gonna be a good time to check your.

Speaker 1: Great time. Weirdly, my hometown is going through it right now.

I've been on the county jail roster every other day

for the last month.

Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, Well, there's a lot of shit happening. Yeah

so because like, oh yeah, so.

Speaker 3: There was a murder of the seventeen year old boy.

There's been like at least four people arrested for that.

Speaker 1: Jesus. There was.

Speaker 3: Somebody who's a maleman who shot a dog last summer

who finally got sentenced.

Speaker 2: He got a slap on the wrist.

Speaker 1: Oh my god.

Speaker 3: Yeah, Okay, So like there's been some things are happening.

It's been a bad time for everybody. I feel like

it's not good in a lot of places.

Speaker 1: We had we've had two child predators in my hometown

in the last month. That are people I wouldn't I

don't know if I went. I for sure went to

school with one of them. I think I went to

school with both of them, like we were in high

school at the same time. Not my age, but so weird,

and it's just like, hey, what's happening.

Speaker 3: Yeah what I always forget to check like my hometown.

Oh I should because I know a lot of people

so that I went to.

Speaker 2: School with still live there.

Speaker 1: Oh yeah.

Speaker 3: Jade's always checking then and she's like, I went to school.

Speaker 2: With that one. I know that guy.

Speaker 3: I know that guy went to school with that one.

Like just like knowing everybody.

Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh. They find out that Devon is in jail,

So Detective Adams sat down with Devon and he told

him Cheyenne had suffered from gunshot wounds and she was

in critical condition. Devon was asked where he had been

when he was arrested, and that's when Devon informed detectives

that he had been arrested at one o'clock in the afternoon.

He was arrested at the Maple Lake home and Cheyenne

was with him, and she was alive when he was

taken into custody. Pretty solid alibi, oh oh yeah, which

effectively removed him from the suspect list. The detective interviewing

Devon asked him who else was at the home at

the time of his arrest, and Devon informed the detective

that Natasha was also home when he was arrested.

Speaker 2: I didn't I didn't think it'd be him.

Speaker 3: He doesn't seem like a I feel like domestic violence

usually isn't gun.

Speaker 2: Shot sure Like, I feel like you're.

Speaker 3: Not usually just gonna shoot your partner, especially in a

public place.

Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, it would be one thing if it was

in the home, But.

Speaker 2: I mean, you took it to the I should I

should maybe.

Speaker 3: Not say that like that, because obviously it happened, of course,

of course, but like gun like, a gunshot to the

back of the head doesn't seem like it's very like

personal personal sure.

Speaker 1: Like lots of strangling.

Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, And that's I learned that from criminal minds.

Speaker 1: Nope, I get it.

Speaker 3: So I'm not not to take away and say that

it doesn't happen. But I feel like usually when it's

like a domestic issue, yes, it's more so like strangulation.

Speaker 1: Or lights, drugs.

Speaker 3: Yeah, a gunshot to the back of the head just

kind of made me think that probably wasn't him. That's

just so like you're so just distant from that person

almost yep.

Speaker 1: Uh. The detective tried to continue to talk to Devin

and ask him if he knew who could possibly want

to hurt Chyane, and Devin didn't really give the detective

anything else. In fact, he was asked if he could

leave the interview and go back to bed pretty quickly

after the line.

Speaker 2: Of question, okay, buddy.

Speaker 1: It was kind of jarring because so the detective like,

you can see the the interview tape, but they showed

on me and girl murders, and he's kind of like

slouched in his chair, and the detective is like, this

is what's happened to Cheyenne. Devan's like, yeah, see here

I did.

Speaker 3: I just like stood up for you, and I was

like I just didn't think that he did it, and

now you're just not showing any any sort of emoment.

Speaker 1: It was just like the detective is like, do you

know who could do this? And he's like, I'm really tired, man,

Can I just go back to my bed? Well? And

the detectives like, do you have my card? Like you

didn't rip up my card in case something else comes

to you, and he's like, yeah, I'm going to bed.

Like it was just very bizarre. So I was like,

so you didn't do it, but you don't care, yes,

And that's really like.

Speaker 3: You're not even sad, not even an ounce of like,

oh no, my girlfriends dead, and maybe they're not even

like bummer, not like and maybe they.

Speaker 1: Cut it out of that episode of Mean Girl Murders,

but it was just like yikes, man.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 1: So after speaking with Devin, the detectives knew that they

needed to get to the Maple Lake house and speak

with Natasha and the other roommates. They obviously wanted to

talk to the last people that had seen Cheyenne before

she was found in the and when they entered the home,

nobody was there. The house was vacant and it looked

like it had been left in a hurry. The house

in Maple Lake that Cheyenne shared with Natasha and Kelly

was deserted, but a thorough search yielded some troubling fines.

The house was a complete disaster, Like shit was left behind,

but you know, most of the basics of clothes were gone,

but like chairs were tipped over, that kind of stuff.

There were bullet holes in the walls. They found a

shell casing for a twenty two on the ground, and

this was very key evidence to this investigation because obviously

the police knew that Cheyenne had been shot with a

firearm in the park yep. They started searching around for

other clues, and honestly, these people were pretty fucking stupid,

so much so that Natasha Brandenburger left her driver's license behind.

They knew so at this point that Natasha was the

person they wanted to speak to the most, but now

she was very clearly on the run, so they put

out a bolow on Natasha and her boyfriend Justin Jensen.

The investigators asked Cheyenne's friends if they knew of any

issues between Cheyenne and her roommates, and her closest friends

had a lot to say about Cheyenne's new room. Let

me tell you, Cheyenne's friends from school obviously were not

big fans of Natasha and Calli, and they were pretty

honest with the detectives. They said that they thought these

these women were horrible and they played with Cheyenne's emotions

and feelings. They were mean girls. Natasha once made Cheyenne

feel like a sister, and now Cheyenne and her guests

felt very unwelcome in this Maple Lake home, which at

home she pays red for. It's not like she's just couch.

Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure she puts in work also to like

keep it maintained. Yes, she pays her bills.

Speaker 1: Yes, but they're like she's bringing people here. It's like, yeah, y,

she lives here.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 1: Another one of Cheyenne's friends shared an encounter that she

had with Natasha Wants at the Maple Lake home. This

friend said that she and Cheyenne were hanging out in

Cheyenne's room and all of a sudden, Justin and Natasha

barged in, and Natasha looked at Cheyenne and said, who

the fuck is this and pointed at the friend. And

then Natasha followed the question up with what is this

whore doing here?

Speaker 2: Girl?

Speaker 1: Shut up? And both girls were kind of like what

and this lady's a nurse you said, yes, she's also

thirty three talking about seeing girls in their nineteen twenty.

Speaker 2: Oh grow the fuck up, I like.

Speaker 1: And so the friend that this that this happened with

his interviewed on me Grammer's and she was just like,

I was confused, but also like, who the fuck do

you think you're talking right? And so the girls just

kind of stared at Natasha kind of in disbelief, and

so they were just sitting on Cheyenne's bed. But then

Natasha turned to Cheyenne and said, I don't want her here,

get her the fuck out, and Cheyenne responded with why

you don't even know her? And then Natasha demanded the

friend leave, And after that interaction, Natasha and Justin walked

out of the room and Justin slammed the bedroom door

on his way out, bitch. And the friend was like,

this is fucking weird. I don't know you, but fine,

I guess I'll leave. On a couple of other occasions,

Cheyenne confided in her high school friends that Natasha would

talk shit about Cheyenne when Cheyenne was in earshot. Sometimes Callie,

Natasha and the boyfriends would be in the living room

and Cheyenne would be like either in the kitchen or

coming through the front door, and Natasha would make a

comment about how Cheyenne was only a part time mom

and how she wasn't there full time, and that she

always made sure that Chyenne was in earshot when she

said these kinds of things.

Speaker 3: Is this so like what triggered this whole like shift

in friendship for them because Seyenne.

Speaker 2: Didn't want to be a robber.

Speaker 1: Yeah, with Calli, that was kind of the shift of it.

But then it turned into, well, she's dating Devin, and

we don't like Devon because Devin doesn't respect the hierarchy

of the home. Because I mean, I don't know how

old I do know, I don't remember how old Justin

and Sean Justin Jensen and Sean Benson are, but Devon's

twenty three. I think all the boys are in their

twenties maybe early thirties. But like, Devon's older than Calli,

so he's clearly does not gonna take ords from Cali, right,

And like, I don't know, as a twenty three year

old boy who allegedly was in a gang and had

done some jail time, he probably also doesn't take Natasha

very seriously either, right, and that just was not going

to be just it.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 1: But again, the more you isolate her from being your friend,

who else is she going to do?

Speaker 2: Is she gonna fall in?

Speaker 3: Yes, because at that point that's all that she has

is Devin, because they both essentially did that to her,

made her, yep, lose everybody else essentially outside of that

whole entire group. They're like and they're telling her she

can't be friends with anybody. Fuck you, fuck you, and

he's like, you can't be friends with anybody else.

Speaker 1: Yes, It's a very isolating situation. It would really hurt

Cheyenne that they would make these kind of comments because

she had moved into this house and they made her

feel like she belonged and now, I mean, within I

think just a few months of living there, things had

changed so drastically. It also really hurt Cheyenne because Natasha

would act this way around other people, but when it

was just her and Cheyenne, Natasha would act like her

best friend. And this just really fucked with Cheyenne's emotions

and it messed with her head. And even though Natasha

is a rude ass, fuck ass bitch, that doesn't necessarily

mean that she shot Cheyenne. So now we're on June third,

twenty sixteen, just two days after Cheyenne has been shot,

police got word that a vehicle associated with Natasha and

Justin had been caught on camera in North Minneapolis. No,

just north of Minneapolis, there was surveillance footage at a

gas station involving a Chrysler three hundred that the Bolo

was out for. So it pulls into this gas station

and next to it pulls in a white Honda, and

they're both at this gas pump, obviously facing separate ways,

but it seems pretty harmless at first, just two cars

kind of pulling in at the same time, and then

the two drivers get out and start what you think

would be pumping gas, but instead they just kind of

get out and start talking to each other. And then

all of a sudden, on the surveillance camera, you see

a woman and a dog walk to the Honda and

they get something out of that car, but then the

girl and the dog get into the Chrysler three hundred,

and then you can also see Calli in the Chrysler

three hundred. So from the surveillance footage, they're seeing that

at least Calli and the other girl with the dog

was Natasha went from one car to another. So clearly

now they know that there's other people involved, because the

two drivers were males, and then the girls went from

one car to another, so now they're looking for another vehicle,

but also they're driving separately. It was later identified that

the mysterious driver of the Honda accord was a gentleman

named Ed Zelco. The police figured out that the suspects

were going where they were going in part from a

photo that Justin Jensen had sent via Facebook messenger that

was sent to a person that lived in the International

Falls area. I don't understand how they figured this out.

I'm going to tell you what the episode told me.

The photo was a picture of Justin sitting on a

couch holding a weapon in one hand and a stack

of cash in the other hand, and the police suspected

that the group was fleeing to International Falls just because

Justin sent this gentleman a picture of him. I don't

understand how they got to that. Yeah, they were right,

they were going to International Falls, but I something about

this picture to them was like that's where they're going.

Speaker 3: There must have been we know what weapon, what type

of weapon he was holding in that picture.

Speaker 1: It looked what was a gun, but it looked like

a revolver. But I don't, like, I don't know if

it's a twenty two caliber. I don't know enough about gun.

Speaker 2: Enough about guns.

Speaker 3: Because I could see like maybe he the gun that

he's holding is the weapon that was used. And he's

got cash because he's like, he took all this cash out,

come to me. Sure, now you'll be safe, You'll be fine. Sure,

Like I'm ready, because obviously he's not with them. He

would have he went ahead of time maybe to like, yeah,

get something together. I could see it kind of picturing

like putting that together.

Speaker 1: Yeah, Like there must have been a message or something

besides this photo that wasn't explained or I just totally

missed it.

Speaker 2: Yeah, but just they.

Speaker 1: Hacked into Justin's Facebook account. They saw that he had

sent this photo to this gentleman that lived in International Falls,

and they were like, we must go to the International Falls. Yeah,

I mean they were right, but like I still but like, yeah,

I'd like to know there's the beginning and there's the end.

Speaker 2: I'd like to know a couple.

Speaker 1: Yeah, a little yeah, yeah. So the following day, June fourth,

twenty sixteen, three days after Cheyenne Cloth was shot, Cheyenne

was taken off of life support. That day really took

a toll on Cheyenne's family. They stayed up all night

talking about memories with Cheyenne, and they talked to her

and sat by her bedside. They laughed, they shared memories,

but they could not believe that their nineteen year old

family member, who had so much life, who had so

much life left, was leaving them so soon because of

something so senseless.

Speaker 3: I was really hoping she'd pull through as a big

fuck you to them.

Speaker 1: You know, at this point, the family did not even

know how senseless this was. Chayanne's family and friends were disappointed, devastated,

and angry. Now was a little boy who was growing

up without his mom, and there was a hole in

all of their lives. Now, who could have done this

to Cheyenne And why would they have done this to her?

Cheyenne's friends and families struggled to cope with their loss.

The police now have a homicide on their hands, and

they locate a house in International Falls where this mysterious

receiver of this photo lived. So they got a search

warrant for the home. They executed the search wart and

at the house they found Justin Jensen, Natasha Brandenburger, Callie Anderson,

and Sean Benson. All four were arrested on suspicion of

murder and held for questioning. Bothout concrete evidence connecting anyone

to the crime, they needed a confession, so the detectives

in Buffalo, Minnesota rushed up state to International Falls to

start questioning, to start questioning them, to get someone to confess,

because this whole case now rides on that. So now

we're on June fifth, twenty sixteen, Detective Adams, Adams and

another detective from the chit ching couchering the detective Adams

and another detective in a different county that International Falls

is in sit down to question there for me.

Speaker 2: She cried really hard.

Speaker 1: I had it in my head two days ago when

I wrote this. I lost. It's fine. They decided that

they would sit down with Callie Anderson first because they

thought that she was probably that she probably had the

most minimal involvement, but that she probably knew exactly what

happened since she had been on this road trip with them.

That had been with them for a few days, so

they interviewed Calli first. Callie said that the last time

she saw her friend Cheyenne was the night before they

left for International Falls, right after Cheyenne's boyfriend had been

arrested at the house. Cally said that there was a

situation and that happened where Chyenne started freaking out at Natasha,

saying that Natasha had snitched on her boyfriend. Callie told

the detectives that they had been that there had been

a disagreement at the Maple Lake house between Natasha and Cheyenne.

Cally said that after Devin had been turned into the

Bounty hunters, Cheyenne believed that Natasha was responsible for that

call of course, thinking that her roommates had turned her

boyfriend in, Cheyenne was pretty upset and started to freak

out on Natasha. So Natasha's a little to leave, and

then Cally had either come home or come out and

got involved, and Calli then told Cheyenne to grab her

stuff and get the fuck out, and Cally said that

that was the last thing that she ever said to Shane.

She The detective asked Calli where she thought Cheyenne would

go and Cally just said, we just told her to

get her stuff and get out, so I don't know.

The detectives asked why they told her to leave. This

was probably an argument similar to one that had happened before,

so I was this one so different from the rest,

and Cally said that Cheyenne was just bringing unnecessary drama

into the home, so she needed to get the fuck out.

After telling the detectives this information, Cally said that she

no longer wanted to talk to them without an attorney.

The second interview that they conducted was with Natasha herself.

So Natasha sat down with Detective Adams and a detective Linquist,

who was the other detective from the county I can't name.

They felt that it was important to figure out the

nature of the argument that it happened between Natasha and

Cheyenne before the shooting, So this is done with Natasha

and they are sorry. They sat down with Natasha and

they were like, do you know why you're here? And

Natasha said I do, And they said we kind of

want some information and we think you have it, and

Natasha said, yeah, I do. She was killed and then

Natasha said that she that she was done. She was

not going to lie for anyone anymore. She was going

to tell them the truth about what had happened. Natasha

said that she was freaking out because she had wanted

to turn herself in right away after the shooting, but

everyone had convinced her to run, and now she knew

that that was stupid. But Natasha then said, I didn't

kill Cheyenne, and like, I'm the good guy here, I'm

going to give you all the information, but everything I

didn't do it, so so they asked her to cooperate,

and Natasha folded under that pressure. Natasha said that the

day of the murders, Cheyenne was at the house with

her and her uh Shan is at the house with

her and boyfriend Devin Boyles was also there, and suddenly

a man stormed in to arrest him. Natasha told the

detectives that Devin had been turned into the bounty hunters,

and Cheyenne believed that Natasha had made that call. Natasha

said that at one o'clock in the afternoon, that's when

he was arrested. And after he was arrested, it was

just Cheyenne, Natasha, and Calli at the house and that's

when Cheyenne started running her mouth and getting snippy with

Natasha for turning her boyfriend in. Chyanne started getting louder

and louder, and they they just wanted her to leave.

They don't want to fight Megaan, They just wanted Chyane out.

She was being ridiculous. Justin and Sean weren't home yet,

and Natasha told Cheyenne, you need to leave before Justin

gets home, like or else, and according to Natasha, Cheyenne said,

I'm not leaving. And then, according to Natasha, after Natasha

supposedly told Cheyenne to get out, Cheyenne countered with I'm

not leaving. In fact, I'm going to call the police

and I'm going to turn Cally in since she has

a worn out for her arrest and afraid that Cheyenne

would throw her under the bus with her outstanding assault warrant.

Callie joined the confrontation. Cheyenne was walking out of the

door and she while she made that comment, and that's

when Callie snatched Cheyenne by like the back of her

jacket or possibly her backpack and pulled her back into

the house. And she said, you don't need to be disrespectful.

So now the three of them are all mad at

each other and a physical altercation takes place. During that

physical altercation, Justin Jensen showed up at the house and

he broke up the fight between the girls. Ultimately, the ultimately,

the decision was made that Cheyenne needed to go, so

Justin turned to Natasha and asked her to grab his

twenty two pistol. Natasha did so, she grabbed the gun

and she put it in Justin's backpack. After that, Justin

called Sean Benson, who happened to be with their friend

Eddie Zelkah, and they passed along the information that Cheyenne

needed to leave the house immediately. Justin told everyone that

Cheyenne was going to get a ride home with Eddie

and Sean and they would be there soon to pick

her up and take her home. So the three of

them got in the car to take Cheyenne home. So

Justin coordinates this plan because you know, he's the master

of the home. Yeah, So he calls his little minions,

Callie's boyfriend Sean and Shawn's best friend or friend Eddie.

She just needs to leave, she needs a ride home.

She's a ride to her mom's and you guys are

going to take her home basically her own personal Uber.

I don't know they had uber in twenty twelve, but

that's essentially what is happening. You know, they're just playing

it's fine. They set her up for success by getting

her this ride. On the way home. Cheyenne had made

that phone call to her mother at approximately two forty

five am, saying I'd left that voicemail saying that she

was on her way home and that she'd be home soon.

But as we all know, Cheyenne never made it to

her mom's house. That's a lot of time in between,

a lot of time in between a lot, yeah, and

I have no information on how to fill in. Yeah,

it's twelve thirteen, thirteen and almost fourteen hours, Yeah, from.

Speaker 3: An altercation that started about one pm in the afternoon. Two,

she's still alive at two forty five am, and then

she's dead in the next fifteen minutes, essentially, is what

they decided.

Speaker 1: Yeah, and then she's found at seven am.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Speaker 1: So the detectives asked Natasha what happened next, and Natasha

said that the two boys came home about half an

hour later, and they told the rest of the housemates

that Sean had shot Cheyenne. Natasha indicated that when Eddie's

Elcho and Sean Benson returned to the Maple Lake house,

that Sean had given the signal to Justin Jensen, indicating

that Cheyenne had been shot.

Speaker 2: I'm so confused.

Speaker 1: What what do I.

Speaker 2: Need to ask? Half an hour later they came back.

Speaker 1: So, yeah, they leave the house at two We'll say

two thirty. We'll just say it's two thirty in.

Speaker 3: The morning, in the morning, okay, sorry, Yeah, they leave

the house about two thirty in the morning, she makes that call.

Speaker 1: At two forty five. By three o'clock they are back home.

That's not the exact timeline, but basically that's yeah.

Speaker 3: I'm I'm very what happened from one o'clock to two

in the morning, essentially.

Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm assuming I have assumptions. Yeah, I

assume they held her at gunpoint. They tortured the poor girl.

Speaker 3: Yeah, that's just so, that's such a long time, that's

so sad.

Speaker 1: I mean, clearly she was able to make that call

saying she was coming home, but there's just parts that

are missing to me.

Speaker 3: Yeah, that I.

Speaker 1: Mean, girl murders did not tell me, that's okay, And

Pioneer Press didn't tell me either, and neither did the

Buffalo whatever. Come on people literally and you're like, it's

like it's all about what happens to them after. It's

like these people were interested.

Speaker 3: It's actually like a curious persons, just like.

Speaker 1: I want to know. It was one of those things

that as I was like typing this up, I was like,

there's so much more that I'm missing.

Speaker 3: There's so much more to this story, and I don't

don't know where to find it.

Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't. Yeah, I don't know where I'm looking.

A is there a different document not documentary, but like

show like snapped or something that would have that kind

of information with different talking heads.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 1: I didn't even look for a court transcript. Oh they didn't.

They didn't go to courts and never forgot that one.

Be it. But yes, I don't know, and I'm very sorry.

Speaker 2: It's okay.

Speaker 1: So the two boys returned thirty minutes after they left

with Cheyenne, and they go into Justin's room and Natasha

just overhears what they were talking about, and it becomes

very clear that Sean had shot Cheyenne with the gun

that Natasha had put into the backpack that Justin had

given to.

Speaker 2: Sewn and Eddie, we need to find this gun.

Speaker 1: Apparently, when they were at the park, Sean pulled the

gun on Cheyenne and the gun didn't work at first,

so then Eddie took the gun from Sean and showed

him how to use it. And when Eddie shot Cheyenne,

he missed her head and hit her in the back.

And that was when Cheyenne. I'm assuming she was running

the whole time, but then all of a sudden, they're like,

oh fuck, she didn't stop. Yeah, So then Eddie ran

to Syenne tackled her to the ground to restrain her

so they could shoot her again. Natasha says during this

confession that she was not at the park, and she

said that she was at home with Calli and Justin

when the murder took place. So like, I'm telling you

all the information, but I wasn't there. The only thing

I did was put the gun in the backpack.

Speaker 2: You gave them the murder weapon.

Speaker 1: No, she gave the murder weapon to Justin. Justin gave

them the murder weapon, so she's fine. As Natasha tries

to backpedal, herself out of the situation, saying she was

never even at the park. She didn't even know which

park Chyenne was shot at. She just knew that. You know,

there was a gun involved, But Natasha didn't even know

how to load a gun, so like she wasn't there.

Don't think that she was.

Speaker 2: I don't know how to load a gun, but I

could shoot a gun. It means nothing to me.

Speaker 1: Basically, she was saying that there was no way that

she could be blamed for the market of Cheyenne cloth.

That's when the detectives politely reminded her that it was

her fault. This whole thing happened because she was the

one that got into the fight with Cheyenne in the

first place. She was Justin's girlfriend, and she and Justin

were the ring leaders of the home. Surely Sean wouldn't

just make this up and do this on his own.

But Natasha said no, no, no, no, no, I mean yes,

Justin and I were the ringleaders. But Cheyenne had threatened

to turn CALLI in CALLI was dating Sean. Obviously Sean

had done this on his own, So don't blame me.

I'm the fault. Are you convinced Megan, No, oh, okay.

Speaker 2: Okay, sorry, I forgot that. I have to be honest.

Speaker 1: So, yeah, Justin and Eddie were just there to protect Calli.

They said, okay, thanks, Natasha, you've been very helpful. We're

gonna go talk to your boyfriend Justin now. So they

asked Justin or they pulled Justin in for his interrogation,

and maybe not immediately, but immediately he admits to the

murder and tells police why Cheyenne was killed. Justin talked

about giving the order to Eddie's Elko and Sean Benson

to execute Cheyenne Clough. Justin said that she was just

too much and that she was threatening CALLI. So you know,

what else were they supposed to do?

Speaker 2: How about just not shoot somebody?

Speaker 1: Literally just let her walk out the door, go home.

Speaker 3: God, there's a lot of things you could have just done.

Speaker 1: But what if she was going to call them?

Speaker 2: Of the things you were supposed to just not do?

Speaker 1: What if she was going to call the police though, boohoo,

I don't know, Megan.

Speaker 2: She seems like somebody that was probably just all talk

and wasn't gonna do it. You guys would have been

freaking fine.

Speaker 3: And if she did. Don't be criminals, I guess.

Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe go to your bail appointments.

Speaker 3: Yeah, also seek some therapy. Fucking psychos. So the murder

weapon was never recovered. Justin Jensen, Sean Benson, and Edward

Zelko all pled guilty to second degree intentional murder and

were sentenced to thirty to forty years.

Speaker 2: Even though it.

Speaker 1: Was the altercation with Natasha and Kelly that ultimately led

up to the murder of Cheyenne Cloth the mean girls,

Natasha and Calli avoided charges of murder.

Speaker 2: Oh my god.

Speaker 1: So the prosecution decided to use Natasha Brandenberger as a

witness for their case. She appeared before the grand jury

and testified. The subsequent statement of Callie Anderson was also

used to implicate the three individuals the three boys in

this case. Cheyenne's family was partially relieved. They didn't believe

that that was the truth about why they wanted Chyenne dead.

They also, I don't think they believe that the girls

weren't at the park. I think they believe all five

of them were there.

Speaker 2: There's obviously there's more to this story.

Speaker 1: If they found a bullet hole in the home, something

happened in the home.

Speaker 3: And I think maybe they just because they got their confession,

they can get a conviction of it.

Speaker 2: It's not even worth digging into the rest of it.

Speaker 1: Again. There might be more to it that mean girl

murders just did not lay out that I just haven't found.

Speaker 3: Why does it seem like you guys are running just

for you guys to get caught and then confess right away.

Speaker 1: According to Natasha, Justin was the mastermind behind the murder,

but it seemed more logical that Natasha was actually the mastermind,

but said she had taken the plea deal. Chyenne's friends

and family feared the truth will never actually come to light.

The men may have been the ones to pull the trigger,

but it is believed that the two women were the

ones that pulled the strings behind the whole thing. Chyancloth

was ultimately shot four times in the back, the neck,

and the head. It doesn't appear that Natasha or Kelly

served any time since they turned witness for the prosecution,

so they are out and about. Edward Zelko is incarcerated

at mcf still Water and has an anticipated release date

of March ninth, twenty thirty six. He was charged with

aiding and a betting homicide.

Speaker 2: That's coming up too quickly, that's not long enough.

Speaker 1: Sean Benson is incarcerated at MCF still Water and has

an anticipated release date of February ninth, twenty forty three,

and he was charged with second degree homicide. Justin Jensen

is incarcerated at MCF still Water. Yes, they are all

together in the same prison in still Water, and he

has an anticipation release date of February ninth, twenty forty three,

and he was also charged with aiding and a betting homicide.

So Sean and Justin have the same sentence. Eddie got

five years less. Yeah, something like that. So that is

the story of the murder of Cheyenne Clough.

Speaker 2: That is wild.

Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't like. And oh and the guy from

International Falls was also charged with I think it was

aiding and a betting, but not second degree. I think

it might have been third. So he did serve maybe

a year or two. But his name was in an

article I read. But I was like, it's so minister, Yeah,

like he was never it was he was basically awful.

He was basically like a ghost character on the Mean

Girl Mercer. I was like, I don't need to name him.

It's fine.

Speaker 2: So yeah, the fact.

Speaker 3: That she's still just like out and about in this

same state.

Speaker 2: Girl, what.

Speaker 3: I wonder if she's still a nurse, I she should

have lost her nursing, Like I wouldn't license that every possible.

Speaker 1: At the very well, she doesn't work at the Buffalo

Hospital anymore. That's where she was employed. So at like

the very least, she doesn't work there anymore. I'm assuming

that no one will hire her. She's a very common name.

I was able to literally get her current address, which

I'm gonna be here. Yeah.

Speaker 2: Yeah, but like.

Speaker 3: If she didn't get convicted of anything, there's no there's

nothing on her background that would stop her from getting hired.

Speaker 1: I mean, a simple Google would be it would be

I mean, yeah, Brandon Burger is not I've never met

one exactly, Like, it's not a common name. So and

her name's not like al Brandon Burger. It's Natasha also.

Speaker 3: So yeah, that's I hate her.

Speaker 1: Anything else before we wrap up hate them hate Yeah,

don't let me in the city of Yeah, Like, it's

just very I just don't like that. It's just very

scary when people are just like because you turn because

you turn and help the prosecution. You don't get charged,

but like man, you.

Speaker 2: Should have to move Staates, you should have to move states.

She I hope she is not living peacefully at all.

Speaker 1: I hope not. I hope people give her hell yes,

pretty regularly. I hope you.

Speaker 2: Have dog poop in your lawn all of the time.

Speaker 1: So this is when I like to say, like, I

hope your pillow is warm. I hope your sucks always

go to the end of your shoe. Yeah. I hope

you stub your toe, but not like your big toe,

like one of your little ones like crack and nail.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 1: Yeah, just minor inconveniences.

Speaker 3: I hope that every minor inconvenience that can happened to

you happens to you.

Speaker 1: Yeah. Like sometimes I'm also like, I hope your mental

cramps suck.

Speaker 2: That still cramps suck. Yeah, I hope your power steering

goes out.

Speaker 1: You know what? That that sucks?

Speaker 3: May you never have air conditioning at a day like today?

Speaker 1: Yes?

Speaker 2: Am I getting it yet?
