Keeping It 100 GenX Style
Aliens aren’t a new obsession for Gen X, they’re practically part of our operating system, and we prove it on our (very on brand) hundredth episode. We start where we always start: real life chaos. From birthday side eye to VMAs takes to a full rant about coastal storm flooding and out of town concert crowds acting like Ocean City invented water, we set the scene for why “unexplained” is basically our comfort zone.
Then we go out of this world, but keep it grounded in stories you can actually argue about at a bar. We run through celebrities who swear they’ve seen UFOs or been abducted, including Dan Aykroyd’s lifelong deep dive, Tom DeLonge’s wild path from Blink-182 to helping push Navy UFO videos into public view, Muhammad Ali’s repeated sightings, Goldie Hawn’s cosmic encounter, Fran Drescher’s matching scar claim, and Kurt Russell’s connection to the Phoenix Lights. It’s funny, it’s nostalgic, and it’s weirdly compelling.
We also dig into why aliens “make sense” to our generation: the NASA heavy childhood, Challenger-era trauma, and a media diet of The X-Files, Unsolved Mysteries, E.T., Alien, Men in Black, and more. From there we connect the dots to modern UAP talk, congressional hearings, and that nagging question about how technology leaped so fast it almost feels like somebody planted the seeds. Hit play, share it with your favorite skeptic, and subscribe, rate, and review so more Gen X weirdos can find us.

1 SPEAKER_04: Welcome to Like Whatever, a podcast for, by, and
about Gen X.
I'm Nicole, and this is my BFFF, Heather.
So happy belated birthday to our Heather.
She doesn't celebrate her birthday, so that's all I'm
gonna have to say about it.
We do not celebrate Heather's birthday.
She has made another rotation around the sun.
SPEAKER_00: I did.
I made it.
Yep.
Yep.
Lucky me.
SPEAKER_04: Here she is, living another year longer than she
thought.
SPEAKER_00: Bitty two.
SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
So you didn't have no.
SPEAKER_00: My mom has a cake currently downstairs for us.
She desperately wants us to eat a piece of it.
She is militant about it.
She is.
The second I walked in the door, she was like, I have cake.
And I was like, I can see it.
SPEAKER_04: And then the second I walked in the door, she said
she had cake.
She's so cute though.
So you didn't watch the MTV.
I didn't.
VMAs.
SPEAKER_00: No, I was watching the Ravens Cowboys game.
SPEAKER_04: Which was really good.
So good.
Almost makes up for what the Eagles did last night.
Oh god.
SPEAKER_00: Time to start looking for a new team.
SPEAKER_04: I did enjoy some.
Obviously, I watched it because Taylor Swift.
Right.
And I got to see the premiere of her new video.
Right.
And but seeing Nirvana get the Vanguard was kind of neat.
Yeah.
Um, they're old.
They are.
Oh.
I know.
Yeah, it was wild.
We're all old.
Madonna didn't look well.
Nope.
I I don't know what was going on there.
I was trying not to be too critical, and I was going
through social media to see what people were saying.
Some were being mean.
Most of the people that were being defensive were gay men.
Sure.
Because she's the queen and she can do it.
They will defend her to the death.
They did.
That was the most entertaining part of reading all of it.
Um yeah, but people said drunk on drugs.
I don't know that that was any.
She almost looked like she was in pain.
Hard to say.
Like even when she was performing, she didn't look and
she her neck looked all like scrunched up.
I don't know if she's getting a hunch in her back or it could be
just she's getting old and she's a dancer.
SPEAKER_00: She's a former dancer.
Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_04: So your body breaks down.
But she kept winning awards, and I did see somebody comment.
And I thought the same thing at the time.
Like she'd win and they'd pan to her, and you could almost see
her being like, I gotta walk up there again.
Like she had trouble getting up.
The escorts would have to come and walk her up the steps.
Like, I don't know.
She just she didn't seem all right.
SPEAKER_00: It's hard to say.
I don't think she's ever been like a drug user.
SPEAKER_04: No, I don't think I yeah, people were saying like
she was high or drunk, and she I didn't it didn't seem like that.
If she seemed like she was in paint, and that's what it looked
like to me.
If she was on anything, maybe pain meds.
I don't know.
But yeah, it was it I felt kind of sorry for her.
And then she won like seven awards and she got artist of the
year.
And I was kind of like, does she really?
Because MTV, the VMAs are voted on by the viewers, so I really
don't think maybe because maybe we're the only ones watching
MTV.
SPEAKER_00: I mean maybe, but are the kids are the kids
watching do they even have video on MTV anymore?
Like who is oh well, I don't know.
SPEAKER_04: They don't they have all the spin-off MTVs, like I
love my 80s, I want my 90s, all that crap.
But no, they it's all TV shows now on there.
But yeah, it was funny because they they had um whenever they
have the old people sing, they always have pretty young things
right up against the stage for all these award shows, and they
bring out these old old sters that these kids have never even
heard of before, and they're trying to like rock out,
nobody's singing with it.
You can tell they're all like, Who the fuck is this?
How am I supposed to dance?
Like it was pretty funny, but yeah, the tribute to George
Michael was god awful, awful.
Like Adam Lambert did okay.
Um, he sang Freedom, that was pretty good, but yeah, the ones
before, I was like, Oh god, what do you do?
I mean, Ray sang one of her his songs, and I love Ray, but she
really altered it a lot.
So, like, I didn't say I don't know.
It I didn't like it.
The Dolly Part one was pretty good.
Some girl named Casey Musgreaves, I think she's
country, she sang.
I've heard of her.
She sang, I will always love you.
Um, and she did an absolutely beautiful job.
Like her voice was gorgeous.
She did good, but yeah, and there's too much country on
there, a lot of country on there.
SPEAKER_00: That just I said Nicole a text that said, It is
not for me.
And then she sent back some.
I don't remember what you said, and I was like, It is not for
you.
SPEAKER_04: Madonna had somebody come out and I didn't know who
it was.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, I was I was confused.
SPEAKER_00: I said, It is not for you.
SPEAKER_04: It isn't, and and I should know better.
I have a friend who's older than me, and she will get upset over
commercials or things, and I'm like, We're not their
demographic.
They're gonna be like, How are you gonna have our and I'm like,
Yeah, that's not for us.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, but you know who has really good
commercials?
Is it progressive?
I can't remember if it's progressive, though.
Are you turning into your parents?
Yeah, my God.
I live for those commercials.
SPEAKER_04: Those commercials are the it is not progressive.
SPEAKER_00: It's an insurance company.
SPEAKER_04: It is.
SPEAKER_00: I don't think it's progressive because progressive
has flow.
I know, but I don't think I think they might be.
SPEAKER_04: Anyway, they are whoever it is, they're funny
every single time I watch them.
From the time they start, I still remember the first one.
They were standing in the hardware store and the kid was
standing there with blue hair, and he's going, Don't, don't.
And the guy goes, Blue.
They're just above.
I know the one they have running now is the influencer.
Yes.
And he's like, No, I just put on the hats and and video myself.
Well, why'd you do that?
SPEAKER_00: I like the parking lot too.
Do you know how much money they're making off of this
parking lot?
And I have found myself saying that.
Be like, man, you know how much money they make off this parking
lot.
SPEAKER_04: I do too, because NASCAR comes to Dover.
I'm like, man, if I had that yard, I'd make so much money
this week.
Yeah, they are.
They're all relatable.
They're all things that, yeah, all of it.
I love them.
They're the best.
They are, they're awesome.
They did a really good job with casting people in those.
Like, it's hilarious.
But yeah, I mean, I did watch it till the end though.
Well, I had taken a nap because I because you're old.
Also, why they're not for you.
No, I had a migraine all weekend because of the stupid storm.
We had a northeastern rip.
We did have a lot, yeah.
Yeah, it was a lot.
It was crazy.
Did you see the shark swimming through the streets of Jersey?
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
I grew up here in the flood zone.
And as a child, I was so so we also had this.
This was it was a conglomeration of nonsense this weekend, which
made me irate the whole weekend.
Number one, as many of these people have moved here since
2020.
They created the problem by building all of these houses in
spots that houses should not be correct.
That they're gonna get flooded.
Yes.
Now, mind you, when I was a child, we would sometimes wake
up.
I lived right on the water.
Well, I would wake up and look out the window and be like, yes,
the flood is it's everywhere.
You can't see the street, it's flooded.
And then I would get up and they like ready, because we would be
not be able to go to school that day.
And just as I would get out, you'd hear my dad yell, I moved
the van last night.
Be like, motherfucker.
And he would move it to the end of the street where there was no
floodwater.
Yep.
And we had waders, and I'd have to put waiters on under my skirt
for my in my little uniform.
And we would have to hike up the street in knee-deep water with
our little backpacks and our shoes for school.
SPEAKER_04: He was getting your asses out of the house.
You were not staying here and bugging me all day.
Yes.
SPEAKER_00: Now, I text my sister because Sunday night they
canceled school for Monday.
And I said, Did they seriously cancel school for Monday?
And she was like, We were literally just talking about
that.
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they cancel school for everything.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, they are in a school district with
long neck, and long neck is pretty bad.
Like long neck pretty much is underwater the whole time.
Because again, you shouldn't have built places there, it's in
the middle of the wetlands.
But whatever, whatever.
The problem was Ocean City was supposed to be hosting Ocean's
Calling this weekend.
SPEAKER_04: Those videos.
SPEAKER_00: So there was like there was so many people here
that are not from anywhere around here that came in for the
big show.
SPEAKER_04: Even the locals that I know.
I had numerous friends post, I'm still going down.
There may not be a show, but they all went down.
It doesn't okay.
SPEAKER_00: So the number one problem was is that you have now
you have a bunch of people who have some people don't have
never even seen the ocean before.
Right.
Like, mind you, it is a really cool concept the way they do it.
Didn't really work out this weekend because they were
battling the ocean.
The oceans came a call in.
SPEAKER_04: So they build the stage on the beach, which is
nuts.
And it was flooded and hurricane season.
And there were videos of heavy equipment and the stage and
boards and um porta potties all out on the beach, yeah, flooded.
Like the water's coming up to the boardwalk.
Like, what do you think you're doing?
And that was Friday, and it was only gonna get worse.
SPEAKER_00: The problem was is because country's calling is
this weekend, so they're trying to keep everything there, even
after they canceled, so that they didn't have to bring it
back in from some the whole thing is stupid, but whatever.
So now you have a bunch of people who have never even seen
the ocean before that are in Ocean City.
Ocean City is like 10 feet below sea level.
Yes.
Ocean City is horrible when it rains.
It there's downtown always floods.
It's just the way it is.
It's it's water bowls.
It's a fucking barrier island.
That's the whole point of a barrier island.
Is so that the water comes and washes and loses some of its
energy on said barrier island to protect the mainland.
We're a barrier island, whatever.
Yes.
Now it's that little lesson, science lesson for today.
Barrier islands protect the mainland.
So we're on a barrier island, it's below sea level, everything
is flooded downtown.
Like, and as it does, which if you live there and have lived
there your whole life or the majority of your life, you know.
So what do you do?
You move your van to the end of the street so that you can get
places.
SPEAKER_05: Yep.
SPEAKER_00: Well, now you got a whole hundred thousand people
who don't belong here, that are here, that are making videos.
And it was just I'm sending them to my sister just as fast.
And I was like, this is and she was like, This is the most
aggravating thing I've ever seen.
Because you would have thought that it was the end of the whole
world down there.
Look how deep the water, it was like ankle deep, like, bro.
No, that's look, look at the ocean.
It does, it's it does get, but they they said it was coming.
This is what it looks like when it happens.
And now, and now we get to hear about all the horrible that look
at all this destruction.
And I was like, that is the whole oh my god.
That's the whole progression of Mother Nature.
She takes sand from one spot and deposits it to a beach down
further south.
Yeah, that's the whole way of it.
And so the Nor'easter that then went up to New England, now we
get New England sand, and it just puts it back.
Yeah.
It's just it's just been hella annoying.
SPEAKER_04: I did see it was kind of cool though that some of
the artists stayed in town and went to local bars and played.
I'll bet that was really cool to because they were big name
people.
SPEAKER_00: Katie Tungstall went down and played Bucsies.
I would have liked to have seen her.
She played, she ended up playing two shows.
Um, that was cool.
But then the aftermath of these people posting um the Holiday
Inn refused to refund us for our and somebody was like, No shit,
the hotel was still there.
Just because your little concert got canceled, doesn't why would
they give you your money back?
You can still come.
And somebody else was like, No, they closed all the roads in.
No, they did not.
They closed one because they didn't want you idiots driving
around in water that you don't know.
That's the other thing.
We can drive around, you shouldn't drive around in the
salt water, it's very bad for your car.
But most of us know where lagoon starts and street ends.
So we stay away from that.
So anyway, that's enough of that.
Yeah, it's just been very aggravating in a place where you
live and have lived your whole life and have dealt with this
literally.
We get nor'easters every year.
Uh like multiple five.
Four or five of them a year.
We get we don't get hurricanes that much here.
We get nor'easters in there, usually worse, but whatever.
It's just aggravating.
Like, take yourself back over there, and then they canceled it
on Thursday.
You could have gone home, but you chose to stay here, and then
everything was still open.
Yeah.
All the bars were open.
They probably made a lot of money.
You just could.
That's what I well.
I did see a post on one of the locals pages because somebody
else said on one of the afterwards, the guy complaining
about not getting his money back.
But the one somebody underneath was like, You should post that
on the local page.
See what happens.
And then somebody, but but I did see on the local page, hey,
because this time of year, we don't have J1s have all gone
home.
Kids going back to college.
Like, this is it's called our second season.
And it is not as busy as summer, but it is still a little bit
busy, so everything is still open.
But you expect that you're gonna be waiting, and you know you
don't expect a whole lot.
Yeah.
Anyway, I saw a couple of restaurants posting like, hey,
we were not expecting this kind of situation.
Anybody around that wants to pull some shifts.
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they're probably normally dead during
that because he's down in Ocean City.
SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
There's a hundred thousand people, extra people here, but
they're not going, they're staying down there.
Exactly.
So they're staying in the hotels and stuff, but they're not
getting back till 11 o'clock and they're going down there at one.
So they might be b they might have staffed for breakfast.
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_00: But they sure shit didn't sta staff for the middle
of the day and end of day, and yeah, they were and then it was
somebody else was like, please be patient, understand that they
were not expecting this.
Plus, you didn't order food for all that.
I mean, you were expecting like maybe some locals because they
knew you wouldn't be busy, right?
SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so yeah.
That's been that was the weekend.
Really annoying.
Good times.
SPEAKER_04: No, it wasn't.
All right, you want to do the little yep.
Uh like, rate, like, rate, review, share.
Like, share, rate, review.
I knew I was missing a word in there.
Um uh find us wherever you listen to podcasts.
Yes.
Find us on all the socials at like whatever pod.
Yes.
We have a website.
We do.
Likewhateverpod.com.
Yes.
And you can email us at likewateverpod at gmail.com.
You can.
SPEAKER_00: So happy hundredth episode.
Happy hundredth.
We dropped the ball.
We did so classic us.
It's technically not our hundredth because somebody
double numbered, so technically last week was the number 100,
but whatever.
Um, anyway, so I did do some thinking about I didn't totally
drop the ball because I had been thinking about stuff to do, but
I didn't want to do like a because last year we did the
it's also this is coming out on our second anniversary.
Um, oh, yeah.
I didn't want to come out with like a, I think it is anyway.
Anyway.
Um I didn't want to do like a because we did the one hit
wonders, our favorite one hit wonders, and I didn't want to do
like a countdown, and I didn't want to, I didn't want to do a
best of mostly because I'm lazy and I don't want to go back and
listen to being on.
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it would have been a lot of work.
A lot of episodes.
SPEAKER_00: I mean, had I been doing it like this whole time,
it would have been right.
SPEAKER_04: We started talking about this like two months ago.
Yeah, yeah.
And then we are, yeah.
SPEAKER_00: Then I didn't.
SPEAKER_04: Neither did I.
SPEAKER_00: And then I thought, well, we could do like uh like
we did before.
We're like, what's the uh anyway?
No, that's not what I decided to do.
Okay.
I decided that we're gonna have, as our hundredth, an out of this
world experience.
So we're gonna fuck around and find out about some
motherfucking aliens.
SPEAKER_03: Yes, yes, I love it.
SPEAKER_00: Aliens.
Only my favorite subject.
Um so instead of doing something sentimental or reflective, or
look how far we've come, we're doing the most genetic thing
possible and talking about the aliens.
We're not talking science, we're not talking physics, not
congressional hearings, talking about celebrities who swear
they've seen aliens.
We're talking about the shit that we loved, alien-esque
movies, all aliens.
SPEAKER_04: We aren't gonna talk about the fact that my first
husband was an alien, are we?
SPEAKER_00: Damn it.
I totally meant to ask.
I oh I'm so mad that I forgot.
I was gonna ask, but when you got here and we sat down,
because I didn't want to give away what the topic was.
So I was gonna give the topic away, then I was gonna hit
pause, and then I was gonna say, I'm totally gonna do it.
Am I allowed to?
Well, there you go.
And then I fucking forgot.
But Nicole was married to an alien, so nobody knows aliens
better.
SPEAKER_04: He was Pleiadian from the constellation Pleiadi.
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
SPEAKER_04: It was very heavy for him to live in this body.
I should really stop because I sound like a fucking idiot that
I was married to this guy.
SPEAKER_00: So that's why I was I was on the fence about it
because I was like, I want to wanna make it seem like Yeah,
it's not not much.
SPEAKER_04: I I was 19 when I met him, guys.
All right, give me a break.
I had stars in my eyes.
SPEAKER_00: I can't he had stars in his soul, and that was
another reason because we'd spend the whole episode talking
about him and I'm just gonna be.
SPEAKER_04: We used to sit at the beach and do that, look for
spaceships in the dark sky.
SPEAKER_00: He was one of my least favorite people on the
planet, yeah.
This planet and any of the other ones out there that he came
from.
SPEAKER_04: He is also my least favorite person on this planet,
so yes, yeah.
SPEAKER_00: But our kids were probably happy, Alan, I guess.
Oh god, I don't even want to think about it.
No, I love giving her a hard time about that.
SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
We used to go to like there was this guy once, I remember he was
this homeless, shaggy looking black dude, probably in his 40s.
And he had conned the whole alien community into believing
he was, I don't know what he was, but he went on tours, he
had merch, he it was it's wild.
It's wild to look back on now.
Like he was he was definitely not I I'm I'm pretty sure now
with more education in my life, he was um um uh what's it called
when you have hallucinations?
Schizophrenic schizophrenic.
I'm almost positive now looking back in it in hindsight.
SPEAKER_00: So here's my theory.
Do I think aliens live amongst us?
At this point's a good question.
At this point, I would literally believe anything.
That is true.
That I because I definitely think that there have been
aliens here.
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, asking if they live among us or if they exist
are two different things.
They definitely exist.
I mean, you're dumb as dirt if you think that this teeny tiny
planet is the only thing that has life on it.
I don't agree that they look like us.
Why would they look like us?
A different planet would have whole different stuff on it and
make whole different things.
So that I don't believe they have long arms and heads and and
long legs.
I don't believe any of that.
So it depends on what they are.
I mean, if they're microscopic, I mean they're Could be a whole
civilization.
SPEAKER_00: Then of course there's the whole like, did we
come from like did they put our see?
I am a big fan of the we are uh an experiment that we did get
put here, possibly.
Okay, I do believe it is a conspiracy.
Don't get me wrong.
I I I do believe in evolution.
I'm not off my rocker completely.
I do believe in evolution.
I do think we came from you know, I got I know the science.
I believe science.
However, it is an intriguing idea that we are a petri dish
and they are running an experiment to see.
SPEAKER_04: I mean, it could be that we evolved and they found
us and we're like, hey.
That is the most plausible explanation.
Because they're definitely smarter than us.
100%.
That's not hard.
SPEAKER_00: The most plausible explanation is they found us,
they watch us.
We're like, like the sightings that happen, is it because we
have more eyes in the sky and can see more now and do because
we have more technology?
Or is it we're getting out of control and they're like, whoa,
let's we need to go to Earth and get that.
Like, you don't ever notice the ant colony until they invade
your house.
And then you're like, shit, now we gotta do something about the
ants.
So like now they're like, shit, we gotta do something about the
maybe they need us for something.
Maybe they need whatever they're getting from Earth because you
know, now they're saying that they do live under the ocean,
which they could because we haven't even mapped even a third
of the ocean.
SPEAKER_04: A million percent.
They could have evolved down there and be from here.
SPEAKER_00: There's always so many things that could so do,
but do I think there's like a men in black where you know,
like Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley were aliens?
I don't know.
Uh at this point, I would literally believe if you told me
that tomorrow and you showed me, I would be like, Yeah, that
makes sense.
That's oh, okay.
Yeah, yeah.
Do I think Nicole's ex-husband is one?
No, definitely not.
But do I think that it is possible that they could be here
and living amongst us as like a a spy, not even like a malicious
spy, like trying to get anything from us, other than like, why
are these dumb idiots running around like this?
SPEAKER_04: So do you think they're in like a skin suit?
Yes.
SPEAKER_00: Really?
Like, well, I don't think they're in a skin suit, but I
think they could shape shift.
I don't think shape shifting is out because octopus can.
Or they could worm into your ear and get into your brain.
Oh, now you're gonna take over your brain.
Yeah.
I don't that's why I don't like robots.
Um no, I don't think that.
I think they can be like shape like an octopus.
Like, you can't tell me that an octopus is from fucking here.
Exactly.
That is true.
They are aliens.
That is true.
So I think I mean, if an if an octopus can make it look itself
look like anything, then why can't they?
You know?
So that is what I would say.
Right.
But the most plausible explanation, again, these are
all like, I will believe it if you told me tomorrow and was
like, hey, this dude, and he ripped his face off, and I'd be
like, Yeah, that makes fucking sense.
Even if your ex-husband ripped his face off, I would be like,
it kind of makes sense.
Um, so he was.
My bad.
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, sorry.
Sorry for sorry, not sorry.
Nah.
There are plenty of other things he thinks he is that we can
tell.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's a shaman.
We gotta list 90%.
He's a wizard, so he could be any number of those things.
Yes.
Or all of them together.
I don't know.
Yeah, who knows?
Anyhow, but yeah, but the most plausible explanation to me is
that they drive by all the time, checking us out, making sure,
see if we're ready.
Because like the whole Star Trek thing is that they make first
contact after we create warp technology.
That's when they the because that's when we've gotten smart
enough that we can Yeah, it's not gonna happen.
Yeah, we're never gonna get the warp.
We're way too far.
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we're maybe there, maybe the AI will create
the warp.
SPEAKER_00: Star Trek is the utopia.
SPEAKER_04: And the aliens can live happily ever.
Star Trek is the utopia.
SPEAKER_00: Not gonna happen.
Although it is after a long world war.
Anyway.
Yeah, that tracks, just like I just said.
So let's begin with the people who have seen things, the famous
ones.
Because if aliens are gonna reveal themselves to anyone,
it's not gonna be our fearless leader.
So, number one, this is who I would pick as our fearless
leader, Dan Aykroyd.
Ooh, the UFO theologian.
Let's start with the man who doesn't just believe in aliens.
He has a syllabus.
Dan Aykroyd has had multiple sightings.
He has seen a bright structured craft hovering over the Hudson,
orbs that moved with intelligent precision, lights that stopped
dead in the sky like they were hitting pause, and what he
describes as telepathic content contact.
Dan talks about aliens the way astrophysics talk about dark
matter, except funnier, more detailed, and with the energy of
a man who has absolutely read every classified file he could
get his hands on.
He's not a celebrity who saw aliens, he's a celebrity who
studies them.
Uh, we love him because he's the bridge between comedy,
paranormal obsession, and I swear I'm not making this up.
So he does have he is he is very I didn't know that about him.
Oh, yes.
Like that's pretty cool though.
He is full on, like and he's had a lot of sightings.
That's yes, and he he but he is like one of the top alien people
on our planet.
He could be a cone head, I don't know.
That's crazy.
I didn't know that.
Um, Tom DeLong didn't just see aliens, he changed UFO history.
He had childhood sightings, a hovering craft he saw with
friends, a silent triangular object that moved like nothing
he'd ever seen.
But then he went full Gen X midlife plot twist.
He left Blink 182, founded to the Stars Academy, partnered
with former CEIA, Pentagon, and military officials, and helped
push the Navy UFO videos into public view.
I did not know that either.
Tom DeLong is the is a Gen X fever dream, the skater kid who
loved aliens so much, he ended up influencing congressional
hearings.
He's not just a witness, he's a participant.
This one.
This one blew my mind.
Muhammad Ali didn't just see a UFO once.
He claimed 16 sightings.
He saw bright objects during early morning runs, silent
crafts hovering over New York, light that lights that moved in
impossible patterns, circular objects that followed him.
He said it calmly, matter of the fact.
Like he was discussing footwork.
Ali didn't need the attention.
He didn't need the publicity, he didn't need to embellish
anything.
If Muhammad Ali says he saw aliens, we believe it.
I sure did.
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like that one is wild.
SPEAKER_00: Sixteen sightings.
Yeah.
This one's not gonna be a shocker to anybody.
Okay.
Goldie Hawn.
The cosmic spawn.
Goldie Hawn's encounter is the most Goldie Hawn thing
imaginable.
She was meditating in a field in the 70s, because of course she
was, when she felt a presence.
She describes small silver beings, triangular heads,
telepathic communication, and a feeling of emotional connection.
She said, They touched me.
I felt like they knew me.
SPEAKER_04: She was on LSD.
SPEAKER_00: Only Goldie Horn could have an alien encounter
that feels like a spiritual retreat.
Here's another one that might shock you.
Fran Dresher.
She claimed she was abducted, implanted with a chip, and later
discovered her ex-husband had a matching scar, and he also was
abducted.
SPEAKER_04: All right.
I'm totally looking at Heather right now.
Like this one, I'm not like the other ones, I'm like, all right.
SPEAKER_00: They both have a scar and identical spots, and
they don't know how they got them.
Okay.
That's how I knew it happened.
Uh of course, Fran Dresher was abducted.
But yes, she her and her husband.
That's they were on a date, their first date, they found
out.
They she saw his scar and was like, hey, how'd you get that?
And he was like, you know what?
I have no idea.
It's always been there.
I have no idea.
And she was like, because I have one in the same spot.
And she said, I think I was abducted, but and he was like,
Oh my god, me too.
SPEAKER_04: Well, they were definitely made for each other.
SPEAKER_00: Here, here's here's one that I think I don't know.
Kurt Russell was flying his private plane when he saw a
formation of lights hovering over Phoenix.
The same Phoenix lights thousands of people witnessed.
He reported it.
In fact, he was the first person to report it.
Okay.
Forgot about it, and then years later realized he was the pilot
in the official FAA report.
Oh.
His son also was on the plane, and his son also saw it.
SPEAKER_04: That one is hard to explain.
Because I know that one over Phoenix.
I know which one.
Do you know which one that is?
And it I mean, people just have video on their phone, like, and
you can see it.
Like, what is the explanation?
And that was before drones.
SPEAKER_00: Like I mean, the explanation is always, oh, it's
classified military or it's a weather balloon or whatever.
And probably most of the time, it probably is some kind of
classified because most people see them in the middle of the
night or early in the morning or whatever.
And that's probably when they're testing out everywhere is near
an Air Force base or some type of military base.
So I'm sure that the majority of the time it is some type of mid
um military.
Military.
But I did hear somebody talking about it, and they said that
they had a friend that was in the military that flew planes.
And what they do is that when they are running a super secret
um testing, they run a 747 alongside of it so that when
people are like, Oh, what was that?
They can be like, Oh, look, it was just a 747.
Yeah.
So they do run a regular plane next to them so that they can
just be like, No, it was just this plane.
So you can see it on the flight radar and all that.
Because trust me, that I flight aware app, I'm on that
motherfucker all the time.
I'm like, what's this plane doing here?
And I because I'm old now.
And that is what old people do.
They try to figure out where the plane over their head is going.
And if you are that flight aware, I highly recommend it.
You need help from that insurance comp commercial for
becoming your parents.
Don't go on flight aware and look up where that plane is
going.
SPEAKER_04: Isn't Kurt Russell the one that's with Gold
England?
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
Um, so that's Peak Gen X Energy.
See Aliens reports it, shrugs, goes home.
Post Malone has seen a UFO at 16.
Oh, yeah.
I believe that.
A glowing orb in Utah, a craft that moved like a laser pointer,
a silent object hovering over his property.
He said, I've seen one, I've seen a couple.
I would believe it if you told me Post Malone was an alien.
Demi Lovato.
Oh lord.
Demi had meditated to make contact, claimed to see a blue
orb and described a profound connection.
Um Kesha saw UFO in the desert.
I do love Kesha.
Felt cosmic energy and wrote songs about it.
SPEAKER_04: I love Kesha because she was one of the early ones to
come out and complain about being sexually abused by people
in Hollywood, and it ruined her career.
Yes.
And while she's not that great, it still wasn't fair.
SPEAKER_00: That's not fair.
SPEAKER_04: And I did see her live at the fair too, and she
cannot sing.
No.
Like there is a lot of editing done of her music.
SPEAKER_00: Of course.
Uh so uh Robbie Williams.
SPEAKER_03: Oh, I love Robbie Williams.
I don't think about him.
SPEAKER_00: Summoning attempt.
Robbie once tried to summon UFOs on camera, shirtless outside,
calling to this guy.
That sounds about right.
Yeah.
So let's talk about why are we so obsessed with aliens?
Why?
Why?
There was another one, and I don't remember who it was.
Now fuck.
We are the generation that was basically raised to believe
aliens were a reasonable possibility.
You will uh you have to look at what we were fed.
Because our childhoods weren't just sprinkled with alien
content, they were marinated in it.
We grew up in the only era where space felt both magical and
dangerous, where aliens were both terrifying and hilarious,
and where every piece of media whispered the same message.
The universe is bigger than you think.
So we grew up in the space shuttle era.
We did.
Before we even got to aliens, Gen X had NASA.
We had the space shuttle program.
Of course, we had Challenger, Columbia, the teacher in space
that didn't happen, the countdowns on live TV, the
freeze-dried ice cream, the posters in every classroom.
I have a certificate of being in the Young Astronauts Club.
So take that to your NASA bank.
We went on field trips to planetariums.
The idea that astronauts were basically superheroes, and space
just wasn't abstract for us.
It was real, televised, and happening in our lifetime.
I mean, how many times do you remember watching, like on the
news or whatever, and they'd have the astronauts in the they
would be doing a talk on something and their hair would
be all floaty and cool.
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, space was a huge thing.
There's a big uh telescope at uh university up in Dover, and I
remember when Haley's Comet came through in '86.
Was it waiting in line forever to get to the top of that to
just look at how teeny tiny it was through the through the
telescope, but I still remember it.
It was awesome.
SPEAKER_00: It's just one of, I mean, it really is kind of in
like, and I know in the 50s, those kids kind of like Tom
Hanks and stuff like that.
He he had a real obsession with space.
But I don't feel like it was as integrated as it was into our
lives.
Well, number one, because they were trying to push the space
shuttle program, so they needed everybody on board.
And then the whole thing blew up in our literally in our faces.
And then we were like, they were like, just pretend like that
didn't happen, go back to work.
So we were like, wow, okay.
Um so yeah, like I and I remember we had, I don't know
about you, but we had the young astronaut program at school, and
we had we'd set off rockets, and I I if they had that, I didn't
know about it.
But and I was pretty much in every club, so I participated
and I set off model rockets.
So yeah.
Uh so I think it was like I mean, I wanted to be an
astronaut.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I did.
We watched rockets launch like it was Saturday morning
cartoons.
We watched astronauts float in zero gravity, we watched the
challenger disaster live, trauma and all fused together.
Space was hopeful, terrifying, scientific, mythic, patriotic,
and existential.
It was the first time we realized the sky wasn't a
ceiling, it was a door.
Once you believe the door is real, aliens aren't a stretch.
Gen X didn't have alien movies, we had the alien movies.
SPEAKER_04: Yes, we did.
God, I love them.
SPEAKER_00: E.T.
It's the gentle alien who just wanted a phone home and some
species.
And that movie is god-awful sad as you watch it as an adult.
You're like, why would that oh they're gonna kill that poor
thing.
They didn't.
Spoiler alert.
They sent him home.
Close encounters of the third kind.
SPEAKER_03: Oh, what a great movie.
SPEAKER_00: That's a trick movie.
Alien.
The reason we don't trust ventilation ducks.
Uh-huh.
Aliens.
The reason we don't trust corporations.
The Thing.
Paranoia Parkta.
Of course, Star Wars.
Um, Star Trek.
Predator.
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
SPEAKER_00: The The Alien Who Hunts You for Cardio.
Independence Day, which is one of my fucking favorite movies.
I don't care.
I love a summer blockbuster.
SPEAKER_04: I know that you love that movie, and it came on
sometime this summer, and I tried to watch it.
Fucking love it.
I only got like half an hour in the movie.
It's a horrible movie.
SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's just nothing but it's terrible.
I don't like a movie with plot.
I don't want to think too much.
I get that.
SPEAKER_04: And I had seen it, but it's not one that I watched
a lot.
Like I might have seen it once, so maybe it's just that thing
where like I just don't have that connection with it, and
it's too old and I guess looks too silly, but I mean Will
Smith.
SPEAKER_00: I know.
I tried.
Come on.
He punches an exp uh an extraterrestrial in the face.
unknown: That's hilarious.
SPEAKER_00: Speaking of Will Smith, Men in Black.
I mean, I I love the Men in Black movies.
I could watch them not so much the last one, but you and I saw
that in the movie theater together.
SPEAKER_04: Yes, we did when you were pregnant.
SPEAKER_00: Yes, I was very pregnant.
Yes.
That's a great, it's a great movie.
Uh Fire in the Sky.
The abduction movie that traumatized an entire
generation.
Um what it taught us is that aliens could be cute,
horrifying, misunderstood, be bureaucratic, violent, lonely,
and they could be us.
Um so they just they sent it to a like, and that's I think a lot
of it too, is because they were so nuanced with all the
different movies that they had.
So you did have E.T.
where you could feel bad for it and put it in a little dress and
take it to school with you and all that.
And then you had Alien, where it was going to come.
Yeah, it would eat your face off.
So they're just like us.
And it it seems more realistic when you have options because
obviously here on planet Earth, there are many different species
of animals and things and plants and etc.
So, of course, somewhere else there would be many different
species.
Yes, and they would all probably kill us.
They haven't yet, so I can't imagine that they're coming for
us that way.
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's not we're not worth that time.
SPEAKER_00: No, it takes too many resources to do that.
I mean, does it really though?
They could probably wipe this planet out quick.
That's probably what happened to the dinosaurs.
Maybe the dinosaur I've always said, mark my words, I've always
said something happened with them dinosaurs that they got too
uppity and it was time for them to go, and they left.
SPEAKER_04: Speaking of dinosaurs, last week I saw a
picture of a T-Rex covered in feathers looking like a chicken.
Yes.
But they had it like more hunched down, and that explains
their little tiny hands.
And it was so cute.
They are cute.
SPEAKER_00: I want one.
Oh, wait, I have one.
Just as cute.
Yep.
Just not as big.
I gave her corn on the cob the other day, and um, it's good for
enrichment.
You really shouldn't give them too much corn because it's
fatty, whatever.
But when she finally got it through the husk, she's going,
ooh, oh the whole time she was eating the corn.
That is so cute.
She was in heaven.
So not only did we have great movies, but we had great alien
TV shows.
We did.
Um, of course, the X-Files.
It wasn't just a show, it was a religion.
Every week, Mulder believed Scully doubted, the government
lied, something weird happened, and the truth was out there.
Yep.
SPEAKER_04: Yep.
That was a must-see every week.
SPEAKER_00: It taught us to trust no one, question the
government, question everything.
The government is hiding something.
Aliens are probably real, and even if they're not, it's fun to
act like they are.
It shaped our humor, our skepticism, our paranoia, and
our entire vibe.
Unsolved mysteries.
SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_00: The show was basically a dare.
It said, Here's something terrifying.
We don't know what it is.
Good night.
And then it played that theme song that sounded like a haunted
note.
That's what it was.
It's like, look at this.
This is scary.
Go to bed now.
Good luck with all that.
My sister one time called me and laughing, and she was like, I
woke up in the middle of the night and I looked over, and the
clothes on the chair, which we all have the chair with all the
clothes on it, and she said, I swore it was a vampire.
And I was like, hmm, that's oddly specific.
SPEAKER_04: That's really funny because I have a really nice
walk-in closet, and I I moved this summer, so some things
ended up I have it pretty well organized, but some things I
didn't know where to put ended up in there.
So this weekend I took the time to get everything out of it.
And the prior tenant had left a um ironing board.
Like, I'm gonna use that in the closet.
So I had taken it out and it was in my bedroom waiting for the
nor'easter to pass so I could take it outside and put it by
the trash.
And I was like, if I leave that in my bedroom and wake up in the
middle of the night, I'm gonna look up and see this.
Because it was a big one.
I'm gonna see this tall ass figure and lose my shit.
So then I'm like, all right.
And I started taking it to the hallway.
It's like, no, because I'll come out here to go to the bathroom
and I'll see it.
So then I took it.
I'm like, where can I put this thing that it's not gonna scare
me in the middle of the night?
SPEAKER_00: Because it will.
Yeah, yeah.
That's what she said.
She was like, I would have put all the money I had that it was
a vampire.
And I was like, I I guess.
Not me.
I I do wake up and see things, and then I'm like, okay.
Well, this is how if vampires it, then vampires are it.
That's the way it's gonna go.
I guess.
Good luck, good luck with that obituary.
Oh, she had all the blood drained out of her, huh?
Weird.
Two little holes in her neck.
Yeah, so crazy.
Um, let's do your thing.
SPEAKER_06: Okay, because I repeat your life, we're lucky.
SPEAKER_04: All right, this is Nicole's uh diary.
We are at December 18th, 1986.
SPEAKER_00: Oh, we're in the Christmas season.
SPEAKER_04: We are.
This December hasn't been treating me very well.
SPEAKER_00: Oh no.
No, no.
First, I feel for you, little Nicole.
SPEAKER_04: The week before last was a total disaster.
I bet.
Monday, I had detention.
Um, Tuesday, I broke the back door.
Oh no.
Wednesday, I cussed out Shane.
I don't know who Shane is or what I did to him, but I cussed
him out.
Then last week, I broke the front door.
Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
That was I think that was, yeah, that was it.
That was that was my that was my rough start to December.
SPEAKER_04: But I don't know how I broke two doors in a week.
SPEAKER_00: She's trying to get out.
I was.
She just broke them down.
Just like, fuck this shit.
I'm out of here.
SPEAKER_04: That's why, like I said earlier, I was in a lot of
clubs because then I got to stay after school, so I didn't have
to be home as much.
SPEAKER_00: I did not join anything because I wanted to be
home because that's where my TV was.
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and your mom bought awesome snacks.
SPEAKER_00: And my mom buys awesome snacks.
SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
unknown: Yes.
SPEAKER_04: I had better luck at getting a good snack at a club
than I do this at your house.
SPEAKER_00: You're not wrong.
All right, back to aliens.
Yes.
Oh, before we get to back to aliens.
My my little business venture.
I'll just take a second.
Okay.
I I you know that I love to plan things.
It is literally I should have done this.
I was gonna do this when I was younger, and then I just didn't
because restaurant.
Right.
Sure.
Restaurant.
Um, I love planning things.
It is like my I will plan anything anytime.
I plan shit that I'm even gonna go to.
Like somebody's like, oh, me and my friend are gone, and I'm
like, here is an itinerary, and no one wants it.
But so I'm putting that to work.
Work.
I have decided to I am I'm now all the way through all the
training, which by the way, it takes 700 years to get through.
But I'm gonna be a little different because so here's the
thing: like, I know what everybody's thinking, but travel
agents says he is dead.
Yes, and no, it was dead in the 90s.
It was when I was gonna do it.
When I was like, this is a brilliant idea, I should do
this, then it was dead.
Also, why I didn't do it because you can just do it yourself, but
because the choices now have become so overwhelming with like
every site has this anything and blah blah blah.
Anyway, um I also decided that niche travel is the way to go.
Yes, and according to the Google AI, actually, niche travel is a
incredibly booming industry right now.
I believe it.
So I went the spooky route, of course you did.
So if you're looking for an adventure of the spooky variety,
of course, Disney is the bread and butter of literally every
like you cannot have a travel agency without doing Disney.
I know Disney like the back of my hand.
I am a Disney adult, I was a Disney child, I've been to
Disney, I don't even know how many times.
I know the ends.
We just literally talked about it.
SPEAKER_04: Yes, we did.
So and she told me a story about how she told her friend how to
plan his next trip to Disney.
Free.
SPEAKER_00: Yes, but that's the thing.
So travel you don't pay for travel agents, you don't pay any
extra for it.
They get it it's commissioned off of what you sell, anyhow.
Anywho, no one cares.
Uh so that's what I'm doing.
And the name of my travel agency is Grim and Grinning Getaways.
Hello, yes, as a nod to the haunted mansion.
Uh-huh.
Um, and I have a really the website is challenging.
They give you a website, but it goes with WordPress, which I do
not know how to handle.
But anyway, so I am I'm doing it.
So if you would like some spooky travel of any kind, I was going
through some of the tours because that's and that's part
of why the niche travel business is so booming right now, because
it is really hard to find.
I mean, of course, if you're going to New Orleans, they're
like literally everywhere.
Right.
But if you're wanting to go somewhere and you're like, I I
don't yeah, that is my jam.
That is my favorite thing to do, is to find little things like I
just found out.
Cause I'm obviously I'm not gonna be around in time for
Halloween.
Like it's just not I'm not gonna be able to.
I mean, yeah, it's last minute stuff, but you would have had to
book like Salem, you had to book like two years ago.
So, um, but Savannah, it's a great haunted town.
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I've heard that.
SPEAKER_00: Um, the the uh haunted savannah by candlelight
excursion was pretty fucking cool.
Um anyway, blah blah blah.
I just found out that over the holidays in DC at Christmas
time, you can go on a donut tour where they take you around the
city and you just go to different donut places.
Oh my god.
I know, and it's like$29, and they drive your dumb ass around
in DC to just buy donuts.
That's amazing.
That's what I'm trying to say.
SPEAKER_04: So that I love the niche travel, that's what I like
to do.
Like, I don't want to see all the touristy stuff when I go
someplace.
Like, even I know this is small, but I went to Austin with work
and two summers ago, and I was trying to find something to do,
and I found a cat cafe.
Yeah.
But you know, just getting out and doing something different
that I can't do here.
Yeah.
Like that's the kind of things that I like to do.
SPEAKER_00: And yeah, yeah, I would I'm I'll keep you in mind.
Okay.
I'm here for it.
So if y'all it's Grim and Grim Grim and Grinnings Getaways.
Grim and Grinning Getaways.
Uh I have a Facebook page.
Um, the website is slowly but swearly.
But anyway, you can just email me here.
SPEAKER_04: Uh-huh.
Yep.
SPEAKER_00: At this one, and I'll get you all the
information.
I do have whatever pod at gmail.com.
Yes.
Um, I also I do the the problem with the website is setting up
the email that goes with it.
That's where I'm driving the struggle bus because GoDaddy
doesn't want to help me out at all.
Anyhow, so that it will be um heather.jolly at
grimgreeningsgetaway.com.
Grim Greenings Getaway is the website.
We'll put that up on our Facebook page.
And yes, we will.
But anyway, so if you're looking for like I I want to do some
like there's also um, I don't know if you've heard of it, but
like uh there's a true crime cruise.
There's two of them, one in February and one in March.
Um, so if you're interested in that, one is Virgin, which is
very small, and it's uh I know Buried Bones podcast is going on
it, which is the one reason why I want to go because Paul Holes
is amazing.
But the other one is uh Royal Caribbean and last podcast on
the left goes, Sinisterhood goes, and basically you just
spend the whole week hanging out with those people, and again,
well that is something I would like to do.
And I love to plan shit and I love to plan niche shit, so yep,
I will scour the world, and then so that's the other reason why
it's been taking me so long to get it up and running because
you get now that you have access to all these travel agent
things, that's so overwhelming the stuff that you can find on
there.
So yeah, anyway, back to aliens.
All right, if you want to see aliens, let me know.
I can get you to Mars.
SPEAKER_03: I can't, but good luck with your adventures.
SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
Grim and grinning getaways.
Unsalt we did on Solved Mysteries.
How about sightings?
A whole show dedicated to UFO encounters.
Every episode felt like a late-night phone call from a
friend who had seen something weird.
I forgot about that show.
How about In Search of with Leonard Nimoy?
SPEAKER_04: Remember that one.
SPEAKER_00: Um, he narrated it with the gravitas of a man who
had personally met aliens.
I mean, he was one.
Exactly.
Duh.
Live long and prosper.
Um, of course, hands down, I'm not a Star Wars girl.
I am a Star Trek.
I am a trekkie through and through.
I refuse to watch one of the new ones because the Klingons aren't
right.
I also got mad and I said the sentence out loud and realized
that I had said the sentence out loud and that probably nobody in
my vicinity even knew what the fuck I was talking about.
But I'll say it to all of you, and just in case you all know.
The um new Magic the Gathering cards have come out, and they
have Seven of Nine without her implants.
And I'm like, what?
Why the fuck would you put she was a kid when she was abducted?
Second of all, seven of nine is the greatest name for a
character ever put on the face of the planet.
Yes.
Hands down, we'll die on that hill.
SPEAKER_04: Yep.
SPEAKER_00: So Star Trek The Next Generation, which is my
favorite.
And I did watch all of Picard, and it was if you haven't
watched all of Picard, if you were a fan of the next
generation, must watch.
Must watch.
Amazing.
Um Aliens as diplomats, philosophy, and and it's a
metaphor for humanity.
Do you remember V?
I do.
Oh my god.
I do.
Yeah, that one was crazy.
Yeah.
Lizard People in Shoulder Pads.
I tried to rewatch it.
Just let it live in your mind.
Just leave it there.
I understand.
Yeah.
Don't don't go back.
I don't know.
Maybe it does.
I did.
I did not have.
I I got one episode in and I was like, you know what?
I'm just gonna leave that here.
Yeah, yeah.
We had not just TV SF, we had Alien Head Keychains, Glow in
the Dark Star Stickers, which I had.
We had the My Kids had them too.
The Spencer's Gifts posters aliens.
Yes.
UFO books in the library, alien Halloween costumes, alien pogs,
alien slap bracelets, the little antenna headbands, plushies,
notebooks, trapper keepers, all with aliens on them.
Um so the Phoenix lights in 1997, thousands of people saw a
massive formation of lights over Phoenix.
It wasn't a movie, it wasn't a TV show, it wasn't a rumor, it
was real, and it that's us 97.
Um so that's when Kurt Russell was the was the first to report
it, like officially.
Like, so that's like that's legit, yo.
But I have seen it's pretty crazy.
Um we loved aliens.
We did aliens because let's get into why.
Okay.
Now we're running long again.
But look, the real truth is Gen X loved aliens because aliens
made sense.
We grew up into divorce, latchkey childhoods, economic
instability, cold war fear, nuclear drills, Reagan era
contradictions, early internet, chaos, parents who didn't
explain anything at all.
SPEAKER_04: Because I said so.
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
Aliens were a distraction and a mystery and a possibility, a
comfort, a fear, a fantasy, a metaphor, a friend.
Aliens were one thing that didn't lie to us.
They were the one thing that didn't disappoint us.
They were the one thing that didn't pretend to be something
they weren't.
They were honest, weird, and they were out there.
Uh, it became our unofficial religion, not scared, but deeply
woven into our cultural DNA.
We trusted Mulder, not politicians.
We didn't believe the news, we believed Kurt Russell.
We didn't think the government would tell us the truth, and we
absolutely thought Tom DeLong would.
SPEAKER_04: Of course he would.
SPEAKER_00: Aliens are the perfect Gen X myth.
Cosmic, chaotic, slightly funny, and always just believable
enough.
You know what I forgot to add in here?
Fucking Alf.
Oh.
How do you forget motherfucking Alf?
SPEAKER_04: My dad loved Alf, and he was a grown-ass man.
He had an Alf doll that talked.
He I have not re-watched Alfred.
He also loved baby dinosaur and also had it.
SPEAKER_00: Oh, my sister will says not the mama all the time.
unknown: Yep.
SPEAKER_00: That's have you ever re-watched that?
Man, that last episode of Dinosaurs is fucking sad.
I mean, sad.
Like that show, like they were like, you know what, we're gonna
end this, and they did.
It's sad.
Uh so now we get to the part where the government finally
said, all right.
You're right, something's out there.
Sure.
We got yeah.
In 2020, the Pentagon released Navy cockpit footage showing
objects moving in ways that defy known physics.
They didn't say aliens, they said unidentified.
We translated it to we can't explain this and we're scared to
say why.
The government formed a dedicated office to investigate
UFOs, the UAP task force.
This is literally a bureaucratic department for our childhood
obsession.
There were congressional hearings, pilots testified under
oath that they had seen impossible craft, that they were
discouraged from reporting, and non-human biologics were in fact
recovered.
SPEAKER_04: If anything would convince me that like they're
here, it's those military videos.
Yeah.
Because I've seen the videos and they do defy anything that we
know.
And I trust like um to be a military pilot, you have to be
really, really freaking smart.
SPEAKER_00: So here's the number one reason why I believe aliens.
This thing that I hold in my hand right here, the cellular
device.
You mean to tell me that in how many years we went from a
computer the size of this room to this thing that we carry in
our pocket every day that literally does everything in 50
years?
SPEAKER_04: Right.
SPEAKER_00: I mean, how long did it take us to realize that the
earth the sun did not revolve around the earth?
Then with the same brain.
Yeah.
It's not like we got new brains or anything.
SPEAKER_05: Like come on.
SPEAKER_00: I think a lot of our current technology is technology
that has been given to us.
SPEAKER_04: Falling out of the sky.
Falling out of the sky.
SPEAKER_00: There is some reports that we have pieces, and
Russia has pieces, and China has pieces.
Basically, and it makes sense.
If your country is a ginormous landmass, I mean it stands to
reason something hit at some point sometime.
So, US, Russia, China, they got a lot of landmass.
I there is some reports that we have pieces of, they have pieces
of, and China has pieces of, and none of us have been able to put
the pieces together because we all keeping pieces from each
other.
Exactly.
As we do.
And you can't tell me that a lot of this government military
nonsense isn't technology that was given or at least
extrapolated from.
I'm not saying that scientists aren't smart because they are.
Right.
But some of this stuff can only work with what you have.
Some of the stuff moves so fucking fast that it's like, but
really, like, how could it have moved that that fast?
SPEAKER_04: Like we won't even get into AI, but especially when
you think about how long we've been here on the planet.
That's exactly what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_00: Like, and again, this is the same meatball in our
head that we have always had, the same capabilities, all of
it.
It's so it's not like we just got new brains.
Something had to put something in there that was like, hey, you
know what you should do?
And then they were like, Oh, yeah.
So, like seeds were planted or something that was like, Here is
this little thing, here you go, you figure it out.
And then they had people pick, I'm just saying.
SPEAKER_04: So, do you think the aliens had anything to do with
the pyramids?
SPEAKER_00: No, okay, that was slaves.
SPEAKER_04: That looks like such a massive undertaking, though.
Yes, and I didn't think it's I mean, when I just I think the
reason I want to believe it was aliens is because I can't fathom
having to work that hard.
SPEAKER_00: Well, and that's just it.
You know, is it you know stuff like that where it's just hard
to uh and and you know, obviously as time goes on and we
do have technology and we can know more things, it's you know,
I kid around where I say we had the same brain, obviously.
Right, but but when you find out more and more about things like
the Egyptians thought that Rob brought the sun up, but now we
know that it didn't, that he didn't, that it just does it on
its own.
But so I think if you give scientists something and then
say, hey, make this work, or if they have a non-human biologic.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Okay.
The truth is out there.
I I just come and go with aliens is the problem.
It's also you shouldn't call them aliens anymore.
It it it connotates, especially now in this evil empire that
we're living under so extraterrestrials.
But by the way, uh, aren't they here illegally?
Nobody invited them in.
I think they have green colors.
Yeah, I don't think so.
B boop didn't walk into the State Department for his visa.
Exactly.
So maybe send B Boop back.
Yeah.
Anyhow.
The language shift.
UFOs are now UAPs.
Um because UFOs sounded too much like we were right.
So now they're unidentified.
I don't remember what I don't remember what UAP stands for.
I don't either.
Okay, because I can't I can't off that well, also because it's
not they're just flying anymore because they come out of the
ocean too.
SPEAKER_04: So I think it was a unidentified anomalous
phenomena.
Oh, that's it.
Yeah, we wouldn't never thought of that.
I wouldn't remember.
I know I have heard them called UAPs.
It's an observation in the air, sea, space, or land that cannot
be immediately identified as an aircraft or natural phenomena.
SPEAKER_00: It's aliens.
I also forgot one movie.
Uh oh.
I know.
I forget it all.
But again, we would be here for 10 days if I Mars Attacks.
Oh my gosh.
Killer clowns from outer space.
But Mars Attacks, of course, because I'm a Tim Burton junk.
Yes, yes.
I I just I just love it.
It's great.
It's a great movie.
Perfect.
Um, so if aliens landed today, boomers would beam politics,
millennials would monetize it, Gen Z would flirt with them, but
Gen X, we'd shrug, sip our iced coffee, and say, Yeah, that
tracks.
Seems about right.
Yep.
And then just move on.
Yeah.
Well, your mom's an alien.
Your mom.
Oh, the other day.
So the other yesterday.
No, today.
I have a lot of time on my hands in the morning when I'm at work.
And I was thinking, like, well, as a Gen Xer with your mom
jokes, like most of our parents are dying now.
So like when you come back with the mom jokes.
You have to watch it.
Yeah.
So if you say like, That's not what your mom said last night,
and somebody is like, Well, my mom is dead, I got it.
Okay.
I I I chuckled to myself.
I must have looked like a mad person because I wasn't
laughing.
I got I got to come back to that.
If they say my mom's dead, you say, Yeah, I know that's why I
used the Ouija board.
I'm a nerd.
SPEAKER_04: I did have a your mom dilemma with my last
marriage.
Um.
I know.
And because I have said your mom forever.
Always you have been threatening to tell your mom I said your mom
since I've known you.
Like I've always, always, always said it.
And my mother-in-law, she's passed away now, but she had um
Huntington's disease, which is awful.
Yes.
Uh a horrible disease.
So I never felt like I could say your mom to my ex-husband.
Right.
Because it felt inappropriate.
But if I could, I'm surprised I have a tongue left for how many
times I bit my tongue to be like, no, no, not your mom.
No, not allowed.
Not this one.
But man, so many times.
It's hard.
It's so hard.
It just rolls off the tongue.
I sent you a good one the other day.
I miss your mama's so fat jokes.
Yeah.
Those were fun.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
We don't get to say that though.
Totally in a couple of things.
But you gotta we gotta be careful now because people's
moms are dead.
Yeah.
Yeah, they are.
So um, we grew up with Dan Aykroyd's Theology, Tom DeLong's
Activism, Goldiehon's Cosmic Spile Day, Fran Dresser's
Matching Scars, Muhammad Ali's 16 Sightings, Kurt Russell's
Phoenix Lights, Post Malone's Orbs, Kesha's Desert UFO, Robbie
Williams yelling at the sky.
And we now have official videos, official hearings, official task
force, and official language.
The truth isn't just out there, it's here.
SPEAKER_04: Boom.
Dropped a mic.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_00: So that is my very overview because otherwise we
could have been here.
This could have been a 27-part series on aliens.
This was super duper fun.
A great way to celebrate our hundredth.
I love it.
And I think that disclosure is coming very soon.
Yeah.
Because one way or another, I think shit's about to go down.
I think we're getting out of control now.
And who whatever isn't in charge is just like, mmm.
Yeah.
They don't know how to act.
Yeah, they need to.
Maybe it's AI.
Maybe that's how the aliens come in through AI.
SPEAKER_04: Maybe that's why AI is going doing things.
They don't know how it's doing it.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
That's why.
Agreed.
Now I'm even more scared of AI.
That's why I talk so nice to my AI.
I'm like, good evening, gentle friend.
So that when it comes for me, it's gonna save me.
Uh-huh.
It's gonna be like, you know what?
That one in this can take me to AI town, wherever it lives.
Like funky town.
Collectively.
Exactly.
Okay.
Well, thank you so much.
Yeah, let's get your alien, get ready for some aliens for for
your Halloween and get into the alien spirit.
And I love it.
Let's welcome them.
But I do think when I do think about like what have they been
because obviously they have been waiting to tell us.
They've been sitting on the what Roswell was in the 50s.
SPEAKER_04: Like they've been I was literally just thinking
about Roswell.
I was picturing like the city and how everything has aliens on
it, and that we grew up with that.
That was always there.
SPEAKER_00: So obviously the government has known about this
shit forever.
And so it's just it's what makes now the time for them to just be
like, yeah, you're right.
It's like and have they slowly been introducing it to us
through cinema and like have they been getting us ready for
it this way by you know, now that the boomers are all dying,
and like they grew up in the middle of Roswell, like that was
happening in their time.
So like we're waiting for them to move out and have their time
expire.
And they have conditioned us to just be like, yeah, I guess
that's that's a so that's a thing that happened today.
Yeah, I guess aliens now take the bus with me.
I guess rude.
But so I I hon I do honestly think that that that is part of
the reason that they have been conditioning us to be able to
accept it.
Yeah, let Leonard Dmore, yeah, live long and prosper.
Okay, okay.
Well, uh, thanks for listening, everybody.
Yeah, thank you.
Um, I hope you enjoyed our out of this world episode.
Yes.
Uh, you can find us where all the podcasts live.

SPEAKER_06: The truth is out there.
