[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, pretty people.
[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome once again to the Part of One Podcast, the actual play RPG podcast, where the gaming table is always set for two.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm your host's always Jeff Stormer, and this week on the show, I am joined by Luke Taylor for a Game of Troika.
[SPEAKER_02]: Luke, the Luke man on Twitch, is with a host of one of my favorite shows on the entire internet, and that is Fortnite Talk Show.
[SPEAKER_02]: The show is...
[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, exactly what it sounds like, Luke joins a Fortnite game, jumps into a group, and chats with the players that he's playing with, like, it's a talk show.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is without hesitation one of the most joyful things that exist on the internet.
[SPEAKER_02]: If you like this show, and you like the way that we have a conversation by way of playing a game, and we share these experiences, and you get that little bit of vulnerability, I think it really comes across in Fortnite talk show in a way that is frankly incredible.
[SPEAKER_02]: Luke is also one of the hosts of a podcast called Stores, with Dead Lossam Jesse about, well, Stores.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a podcast about going to stores, guests come on and they talk about a store, their experiences, whether it's their favorite store, at least favorite store.
[SPEAKER_02]: It certainly is store.
[SPEAKER_02]: They've certainly gone to it and they certainly talk about the experience.
[SPEAKER_02]: And last but not least, Lucas also the creator alongside Pat Gill of a thing that is deeply deeply special to me, and that is AMV night, which is a regularly occurring event on Twitch, where they put out a call for people to make custom AMVs of whatever they like, alongside a specific theme.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is so deeply important to me, and I've seen some AMVs for things that I never thought I would see AMVs for.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's remarkable, it's incredible, and I love all of it.
[SPEAKER_02]: You can find Luke pretty much anywhere on the internet at the Luke man or you can check the show notes for more information.
[SPEAKER_02]: Troika is a standalone science fantasy role-playing game where you and your cosmopolitan group of travelers explore the ends of the multiverse.
[SPEAKER_02]: You fly on barges, help dying gods, solve confounding crimes, plunder dead worlds, and meet strange and wonderful people.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is a very surreal, very at times absurd, at times drool and dry, like very odd fantasy roleplaying game, kind of in a science, fantasy, magical, realist place, I love it a lot as a game.
[SPEAKER_02]: A very excited to bring it to the show for a very long time, and you can learn more about the game at TroikaRPG.com or check the show notes for more information.
[SPEAKER_02]: This episode also uses material from the Troika Adventures the house on Lich Lane, which you can find at unchartedworlds.its.io, moons shot, which you can find at signalstation.its.io, and Automa Town, which you can find at shemaiamagens.its.io.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now before we dive in, I do have a brief call to action for you, the party people listening at home.
[SPEAKER_02]: And that is, I have like a personal dream wish to see like a hundred new Apple Podcast reviews on the show in 2026.
[SPEAKER_02]: Recently, like a very prominent guest who I think would be a really cool fit for the show, put out a call that they were specifically looking to guest on a large number of shows, uh, provided that each of those shows had over 100 Apple reviews.
[SPEAKER_02]: And like, we, I think, have a hundred and six.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, like, we're right at that line.
[SPEAKER_02]: But it did get me thinking, you know, I know that Apple reviews do not like boost your plays in an algorithm and they don't like achieve a thing mechanically, but they do provide a sort of social cover for guests, you know, that you are pitching the
[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, this is a show that has merit and here's the why, like that number has value and I would love to see that number crest 200 by the end of the year.
[SPEAKER_02]: So all of that is to say if you enjoy the show and like you have not leave in us a review on Apple, like it helps and especially helps as I'm booking new and bigger and weird or guests for me to book and say, look, look, I look excited the audience is for the show.
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, that is my pre-episode call to action.
[SPEAKER_02]: And with all of that said, let's go ahead and throw it over to me in the past so he can get started with the show.
[SPEAKER_02]: Take a past me.
[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks, future me.
[SPEAKER_02]: I am so very excited.
[SPEAKER_02]: I have been putting together notes and pulling down adventure things all day for this episode.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think this is gonna be an absolute blast.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sitting down with Luke Taylor.
[SPEAKER_02]: Luke, thank you so much for coming on part of you, Juan.
[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for having me, Jeff.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm very excited to be here.
[SPEAKER_02]: I could not be more excited.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think this is going to be so great.
[SPEAKER_02]: But before we get into our lovely game today, why don't you take a moment?
[SPEAKER_02]: Let our lovely listeners at home know about what you've got going on.
[SPEAKER_02]: You might want them to know about.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm a streamer and a podcaster.
[SPEAKER_05]: I have of my own, if you can believe it.
[SPEAKER_05]: I do a show on Twitch called Fortnite Talkshow where I go into random squads and fill like I get with random people.
[SPEAKER_05]: And then I try and see if they'll let me interview.
[SPEAKER_05]: them.
[SPEAKER_05]: And it works more than you would think.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's very fun, super fun show, I just kind of shoot this shit with people, kind of see what's going on in their lives.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's great.
[SPEAKER_05]: And then I also have a podcast called stores where me and another streamer have comedians and streamers on.
[SPEAKER_05]: And if you can believe what we go to the store.
[SPEAKER_05]: So best by, yep, that's an episode.
[SPEAKER_05]: There you go.
[SPEAKER_02]: foot on four night talk show is one of those ideas that you sit back and watch and it does does work more often than that and like every time it works there's a there's like a magic that keys into it where like when you really hear people start to open up and like when you hear people key into what's unfolding remarkable.
[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's the greatest.
[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's one of those things.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's so funny that ideas we have in our lives, because I would say it is now one of the main things I do.
[SPEAKER_05]: It was a phrase that came to my mind one afternoon.
[SPEAKER_05]: I threw all the other like graphics for it and like an hour.
[SPEAKER_05]: And now I do it twice a week or three times a week every week and I love doing it so much.
[SPEAKER_05]: But it's, you know, it's just
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, let's do it.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's just I'm talking to people on Fortnite.
[SPEAKER_05]: Cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: And sometimes it really is that idea that makes you laugh is the one that is going to catch fire because that's the one that like you feel that creative burst of energy towards totally totally out.
[SPEAKER_05]: I like, that's really what it is, too, is because I've done over the year, like, I've streamed for a few years now and I've done a lot of inter.
[SPEAKER_05]: I've always had a bit obsessed with, like, Colin shows and talk shows and interview shows.
[SPEAKER_05]: And of all the formats I've done, this is the one where I'm just like, I've never not been excited to do it.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's been, it's, I've been a lit, it's about nine months I've been doing it.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I, I just,
[SPEAKER_05]: I love it.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's so fun.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's so crazy what people are willing to talk to me about once they're like real I but the biggest hurdle of that show is them is convincing them that I'm not trying to Prank them in some way and then it's okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: I which is which is such a funny hurdle to have to get over because you are like, you are presenting that with such an absurd premise that that to then have to be like, no, I promise this is real.
[SPEAKER_02]: I promise it sounds bizarre, but I promise what we're doing here is like a real thing.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's a real show, and it's a real talk show, and it's not going to end with me like completely flipping the script and saying something crazy to you to make you mad.
[SPEAKER_05]: I promise you, I promise you, you know, because that's a lot of a lot of like, you know, gaming talking to strangers content is like that.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I, and I, and brother is like, doing it is like, I think the vibe of it is very legitimately good, which is, which is nice.
[SPEAKER_02]: And especially, especially in gaming, it's nice to have that, like legitimately nice energy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Also, I have to specifically thank you because you have with another project that you've been doing the last couple months have brought.
[SPEAKER_02]: energy back into my life, which is to say that all of my friends in all of my discord's have been furiously putting AMVs together and sharing with me updates about the AMVs that they're working on.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh really, dude, it is so okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: So if you if you don't know what we're talking about me and my friend Pat Pat Gill do a sort of
[SPEAKER_05]: And every few months we do an AMV contest and people, anyone can submit, we have a theme.
[SPEAKER_05]: If you don't know what an AMV is, it's an anime music video, it doesn't have to be anime, but music from music set to clips and scenes from the media property, and it's
[SPEAKER_05]: So amazing to me, how much people like doing it?
[SPEAKER_05]: Because when we, this is a number four now, and me and Pat were like, well, we gotta make at least two or three because no one's gonna wanna make this for the first one.
[SPEAKER_05]: And now we're like, we need to make one short one each because it's fun, but we need to, because if we do too many of our own, it will, it's,
[SPEAKER_05]: The show is growing exponentially larger.
[SPEAKER_05]: Let me just put it that way in a really fun way.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's I'm seeing so many people who are like, dude, I've never edited it before and this is the most like I'm I love doing this.
[SPEAKER_05]: I look forward to it and it's it's very fun.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's very good vibe.
[SPEAKER_02]: that's exactly the vibe that I'm seeing among my friends like you know all of all like audio podcasts or so I like I guess I'm learning video I've downloaded the Vinci for the first time I'm playing this out in front of me because I'm I'm not normal about shadow the hedgehog so I need to do this together I need to grab some music and make this happen
[SPEAKER_05]: And I love that too because it does come from a place where neither beer pat made a of these when we were the age where we would have made a MVs, you know, like when in 2005 when we were in like middle school or whatever, but we always wanted to, and I think we've tapped into the fact that a lot of people around our age also secretly always wanted to, so we're all like having this nice second childhood moment together of what happens when you
[SPEAKER_02]: You are, it's, it's, it's, it's real.
[SPEAKER_02]: The energy is real.
[SPEAKER_02]: I, I, uh, after watching, uh, one of the AMV nights, I started putting together, uh, what I think will be my grandmaster work, which is a, uh, mountain go to this year AMV set to the eight wood arc where roast beef takes off to the moon.
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, I mean, at the images size correctly, it's going to be, it's going to speak to my soul.
[SPEAKER_05]: That you I feel like that is going to be a truly Jeff and arrow through the heart of the exact demographic of people that watch that show to like that is like the mountain to go a coin like people are going to go like that's going to make people start vibrating or energy because they feel so sick is the vibe that I'm chasing after
[SPEAKER_05]: Where, what'd you say?
[SPEAKER_05]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_05]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_05]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_05]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_05]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_05]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_05]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_05]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_05]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_05]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you say?
[SPEAKER_02]: It'll weird ever expanding cities around it by universes contained within spheres.
[SPEAKER_02]: I sent you over a couple of games.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is the one that's really jumped out of you.
[SPEAKER_02]: Talk to me about what it is that draws you towards this game in particular.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I saw...
[SPEAKER_05]: and you're very, uh, great sum up of them.
[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, what really jumped to me is it said it was like book of the new son, which is like the those G wolf books are like my favorite science fiction books ever.
[SPEAKER_05]: I think they're amazing and crazy.
[SPEAKER_05]: I read them a few years ago, and I was just like, I've been.
[SPEAKER_05]: never really read anything like that since um i love how and i love how crazy the world is i like how uh it's there you do basically have no idea what's going on in those books at all and yet they're still completely enjoyable to read um and
[SPEAKER_05]: I love the like there's like a spoiler if you haven't read this series which I but I think it's something that's really showing a lot of troika of what I can tell is there's this kind of reveal where you think you're in a fantasy setting and then you realize it's actually so far in the future that it appears more like fantasy than science fiction but is in fact science fiction and there are robots and spaceships but like
[SPEAKER_02]: nobody nothing is called anything recognizable and it's I just I love it so much I really it's it's one of my favorite series so I thought the scene fun kind of seemed up my alley I feel really excited about it's one that like uh... when I was asking around about like cool weird science fantasy games this was the first one that was mentioned and it was meant sent to me with a message it said
[SPEAKER_02]: I can't believe that you've been doing this show for 10 years and you have not played this game.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so like the the mark of it is high for me and I've been pulling a bunch of published troika adventures that I am going to like haphazardly mash together.
[SPEAKER_02]: All of them will be credited in the show notes you'll be able to check all of them out.
[SPEAKER_02]: I have got a fun little scenario prepped of got some adventure things planned, but to do that, we need a character.
[SPEAKER_02]: You have gone through the character creation process of Troika, which really is find a weird character background and imagine who that guy is.
[SPEAKER_02]: So let me ask you this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Who's your weird guy?
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, you know, it was, it was, it used to be a great thing, which is just above this character generator that will just pull random backgrounds from the like, I don't know.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's like 500 different backgrounds, which was awesome because I had looked at all the ones in the base game and this is just like that point.
[SPEAKER_05]: more and it really is crazy because it ranges from like demon hunter very like classic RPG to like guy who sells eggs and that's his whole thing and his power is that he can always make an egg come from somewhere in his body and shit.
[SPEAKER_05]: So
[SPEAKER_05]: It was hard because I kept heading up, but I think I've settled on one, which is a character.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to call him Parker S. He is a living skeleton.
[SPEAKER_05]: He's a like sort of a classic fantasy, you know, animated skeleton, but the sort of his trick of him is that he knows that he is just magic bones.
[SPEAKER_05]: So he doesn't always appear as human.
[SPEAKER_05]: He is human bones.
[SPEAKER_05]: Put where the bones are to take like shitty little different forms that are like better at like fighting or jumping kind of but not really because it's still just human bones.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's I really truly what a slam dunk of a character background.
[SPEAKER_02]: What a slam dunk of a concept and like ties into the adventure that I have written.
[SPEAKER_02]: The hearing you tell you, I'm it and think about it like in a way that I think is really fun to the point where there's now an entire prologue in my head that we kind of have to play through incredible.
[SPEAKER_02]: which is to say that we are opening at court.
[SPEAKER_02]: We are, uh, we are in a court house in the grand city of Traco, which is the epicenter of the myriad thousand spheres of space, the thousand worlds around us.
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, and we are at court.
[SPEAKER_02]: I want to ask you.
[SPEAKER_02]: Where?
[SPEAKER_02]: What was the scenario?
[SPEAKER_02]: What where did your character die?
[SPEAKER_02]: And which and as an extension, I guess the second I have a question is where did your character wake up as a pile of bones?
[SPEAKER_05]: Mmm.
[SPEAKER_05]: That is a great question.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I believe that I was a man completely unremarkable in life so much so that I all I know is my first name and my last initial.
[SPEAKER_05]: I think I was basically a peasant.
[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, partner was a, uh, you know, just doing his best until he sort of just randomly got, uh, you know, executed by
[SPEAKER_05]: you know flying by laser gun bolt that had nothing to do with him powers much bigger than him were fighting and having a sort of attack on tetanus street and he took the you know he took the brun of it and then you know he but he got a second chance as a necromancer's throw
[SPEAKER_05]: but like many great necromancers who who court death that necromancer died, but unfortunately Parker spelled did not.
[SPEAKER_05]: So for the last few hundred years, he's just kind of in wandering around as a masterless pile of bones, uh, do kind of doing his thing, kind of seeing the world, seeing the spheres that he'd ever got to see, uh, as just a regular bag of flesh and bones who, who, no one would pay attention to,
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, people are looking up park at Parker and saying, I gotta see what's going on with this guy.
[SPEAKER_02]: I love this so much.
[SPEAKER_02]: I can tell you exactly what the first thing that with the first interaction of this character that we see is we are in like an acid-soaked desert environment.
[SPEAKER_02]: Parker is on a like wind sale.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like in the midst of a race of midst of like some kind of like mad
[SPEAKER_02]: when a gyrocopter, like hovers down, somebody jumps onto the back of this like hover chariot, and it is like a frogman in a business suit, and he's got an envelope, and he hands it to Parker, and inside is like...
[SPEAKER_02]: clearly like a half-deed half summons that like you have been requested in court in the city of Dryka to resolve matters of like what was left to you in life.
[SPEAKER_05]: Awesome.
[SPEAKER_02]: Awesome.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, 3rds of years ago.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, great.
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: They finally tracked down like what my family has left me kind of after all these years.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: This lawyer has been trying to like give you this notice that like a lot was left in your name for centuries and is finally like located you which brings us back to this courthouse cool where like you are being awarded
[SPEAKER_02]: Manor is a nice way to put it, it's run down, it's dilapidated.
[SPEAKER_02]: It clearly had been owned in someone's name for several hundred years, and that person was off being a skeleton, so it's falling into a certain state of disrepair.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: But it is a home in your own name.
[SPEAKER_02]: Congratulations, you have become a homeowner.
[SPEAKER_05]: Wow, I never thought it was possible, but here I am.
[SPEAKER_05]: Can I also just add one detail?
[SPEAKER_05]: I know if completely moved off, but I think this is important for the, if I'm racing the desert, I think it's important that I parker have racing goggles on, even though I don't need them, that to see the letter, I then took off my eye sockets.
[SPEAKER_05]: I just need that to be part of our, our journey together.
[SPEAKER_02]: Here's to know.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're in the truck ahead space.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is where the magic is happening.
[SPEAKER_02]: Great, great.
[SPEAKER_02]: I would be upset if we did put that detail.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because now I'm just going to envision the racing goggles on your forehead throughout the rest of this adventure.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'd like to race in goggles, and maybe even a little wind scarf.
[SPEAKER_05]: A little scarf.
[SPEAKER_05]: You know?
[SPEAKER_05]: I wouldn't feel complete without it great great great great just making sure we got that down Well, this is great.
[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I'm I'm I you know, I thought But you know, I got to be honest.
[SPEAKER_05]: I think this comes with a little bit of Has it a bit here because I you know, I've I thought I had put this life behind me and here it comes and it's it a physical representation
[SPEAKER_02]: even more so because so I think like we you've got this you've got this uncertainty I guess like as you're approaching you know we we we load you on to a bus which is to say like a giant like a giant silk worm like in morrow in and they like they load you on it to get to the other side of the city what's going through your head and like what is your goal to settle down here
[SPEAKER_02]: is your goal to get it polished up and sell it to the next sucker in line like what is you what is it that you are looking for?
[SPEAKER_02]: Are you looking for remnants of your old life?
[SPEAKER_02]: Like what is it that your character is hoping to get out of the house on Lich Lane?
[SPEAKER_05]: You know, I've lived a lot of lives in this last couple hundred years.
[SPEAKER_05]: When when when
[SPEAKER_05]: But what I've never been, but what I've never been, hold on, I'm gonna take that again.
[SPEAKER_05]: I've looked a lot of lives.
[SPEAKER_05]: This last few hundred years is a sunny and pile of bones.
[SPEAKER_05]: I've been a win racer, captive of my own starship, politician, family man.
[SPEAKER_05]: But the one thing I've never been because I've had no need for what it would bring is a small business owner.
[SPEAKER_05]: And what I would like to do is turn this small house
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm still figuring out exactly what we're going to sell, but I would like I would love to.
[SPEAKER_05]: I've always dreamed of the bottom floor of my house being a beautiful little curiosity shop and then the top floor being where I live.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's what I want.
[SPEAKER_02]: incredible incredible incredible for reasons that will become clear okay fantastic also I need to call out uh the montage that we see of uh Parker in all of these other roles uh as the skeleton in a business suit standing at a podium on board of a very funny every single visual extremely funny
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, definitely definitely and he said he's always I would like to imagine Parker is someone who always dresses for the job though.
[SPEAKER_05]: He needs no clothes, you know, just out of he's a he's a he and his self is an actor who is taking on many roles and isn't important to him to get them right whether or not the things that he needs I would need is a man to do them.
[SPEAKER_05]: He needs this a big pile of bones
[SPEAKER_02]: I adore this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, we see the silk.
[SPEAKER_02]: We see the giant like a pillbug ride up onto this, uh, dilapidated kind of, uh, monsters or Adam's family ask manner on the kind of the outskirts of town.
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, clearly this was something that was left to you by like a rich or relative.
[SPEAKER_02]: and waiting in front of it, looking at least from her body language, impatient is what appears to you and what you would presume to be the previous occupant, the owner of the least, the housekeeper, what have you, which is a
[SPEAKER_02]: You could tell by her outfit that she is a witch, big, big floppy witch hat, a lot of scarves, a tremendous amount of like, of, of, of flapping scarves and like books and things kind of hung on pouches, so many pouches and belts.
[SPEAKER_02]: What is clearly missing though?
[SPEAKER_02]: And like you can't tell if it's just that there is so many clothes that you can't see a person underneath or if there is not a person underneath is a person inside of those clothes.
[SPEAKER_02]: got it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: Standing and like flapping and fluttering and and and rink and like swishing and and billowing this this which is like looking at you know you see a sleeve come up and a watch come out of the sleeve and she's looking at the watch and sees you.
[SPEAKER_02]: clearly instantly recognizes, uh, presumably she knew she was waiting for a skeleton, and like excitedly like waves you over as she starts like picking up suit cases.
[SPEAKER_05]: Incredible.
[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, I go up to her and I, you know, the smooth operator that I am, I do the thing that like when you think you're supposed to know someone but you have no
[SPEAKER_02]: uh... and she uh... like billows and flaps and what could what sound like words kind of flap in the wind like if you were to hear kind of words uh... echo from the from the shaking of dust off of a towel kind of uh... flutters uh... parker i presume i not many skeletons are coming up of the bus not not here not will not
[SPEAKER_02]: from the front, any, well, no, don't worry about that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Don't worry about it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Delighted to have you here, delighted to give this property back to you.
[SPEAKER_02]: Hmm.
[SPEAKER_02]: Wonderful.
[SPEAKER_02]: Great day for me.
[SPEAKER_02]: Any questions that I can answer?
[SPEAKER_02]: I do have to run very quickly, so please make them quick.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, no problem.
[SPEAKER_05]: I just, you know, first I want to thank you for doing such a great job taking care of this old man or a mind all these years as I was, you know, out across the stars.
[SPEAKER_05]: May I ask, guys, there anything I should know about the house before I go inside?
[SPEAKER_05]: You've been taking care of it, correct?
[SPEAKER_02]: uh... as you say the words taken good care of it you hear the un-mistakeable sound of an explosion somewhere in the under-level underlayers of the house uh... at that moment uh...
[SPEAKER_02]: At that moment, like, like a gelopy, like an old timey car kind of pulls up and she kind of like almost dishevels for a minute and like sort of like flops to the ground and then recomposes herself.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my, this is my ride.
[SPEAKER_02]: I promise all good things.
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, well, there is the matter of
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, there's the other dimensions and the crossover and the other the other tenants also have legal claim on account of in their world, they've got the legal claim to the house.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's all fine.
[SPEAKER_02]: It'll work itself out.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's all great.
[SPEAKER_02]: I got to go enjoy the house.
[SPEAKER_02]: Take good care of it, please don't accidentally puncture a hole in the cosmos and render all life non-existent.
[SPEAKER_02]: Don't worry about that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I won't say slim, but they don't worry about it.
[SPEAKER_02]: I gotta go.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're gonna have a great time.
[SPEAKER_05]: Or, okay, can you tell?
[SPEAKER_05]: So am I like, do I need to collect rent?
[SPEAKER_05]: Is there like a day of a month like rent or are we in this to get her?
[SPEAKER_05]: Hello?
[SPEAKER_02]: Has collect like flopped and fold the opens, the trunk of the car flops into it and folds herself like a pile of clothes as the gelopy drives off.
[SPEAKER_02]: leaving you with leaving you with the wide open house and clearly the sounds of people inside.
[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
[SPEAKER_05]: You know what?
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm a man of, I'm a man of the people.
[SPEAKER_05]: Ultimately, or I was.
[SPEAKER_05]: You know, no, I'm, I'm, I'm a, I'm a.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm a skeleton, so I'm going to do it at least a good skeleton would do and I'm going to, um, well, okay, all right, all right, all right, so I'm a character she did says all still skeletons can test their luck to absorb memories of an object creature or location they are touching.
[SPEAKER_05]: No, that's that rips.
[SPEAKER_05]: Holy shit.
[SPEAKER_05]: Can I can I go up?
[SPEAKER_05]: Can I do up and say something like if these walls could talk?
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, maybe they can and put my long bony fist up to the doorframe.
[SPEAKER_02]: 100% roll me so you're going to roll two d six all actions introica are rolled with a number of d six.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to roll two d six.
[SPEAKER_02]: What's your current luck score.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is 12 great.
[SPEAKER_02]: So then you're going to wow you are luck.
[SPEAKER_02]: You are luck.
[SPEAKER_02]: You are very lucky.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to roll your goal is to roll equal or less than your current luck score with two d six.
[SPEAKER_02]: Not especially difficult to hit a 12.
[SPEAKER_05]: Sure way.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I have to do.
[SPEAKER_05]: Wait, okay, I think I understand.
[SPEAKER_05]: So roll two D6.
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, roll two D6.
[SPEAKER_05]: Is it the thing that it's like the number, it's like the first number and then the second number.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's like I don't add them up.
[SPEAKER_05]: I do like if it's like one six, it's one 16.
[SPEAKER_05]: Am I overthinking this?
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, yeah, yeah, that's for that's for if they're rolling a D66, like there are times where they're getting a case for two D6.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're just adding two D, you're adding C, then together.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, all right, I got a five and
[SPEAKER_02]: before.
[SPEAKER_02]: So okay, you've, you've, you've, you've rolled under your luck.
[SPEAKER_02]: You've successfully tested your luck.
[SPEAKER_02]: Your luck now drops down by once.
[SPEAKER_02]: You drops to 11.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: What you unlock as you touch your, as you touch like the railing on the stoop, the gate kind of opens for you.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you kind of see.
[SPEAKER_02]: This has been on my mind.
[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like I'm cursed to have to eventually watch this movie.
[SPEAKER_02]: Do you remember this guy, the trailer came out for this last year, the Tom Higgs movie here, where it was all, yeah, and I saw it in theaters.
[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm, yeah, I'm intimately aware what the concept of here.
[SPEAKER_02]: Great.
[SPEAKER_02]: You see a here montage, which is the best way to describe it of like the house in front of you.
[SPEAKER_02]: And like, you kind of see that it is the history of it unfolds in front of you.
[SPEAKER_02]: And for a moment, your home, for a moment, this is the tiny farm cottage that you remember from your peasant life.
[SPEAKER_02]: and then it changes hands and you see a family move in, uh, you kind of see the farm prosper, you know, a farm becomes a farm business.
[SPEAKER_02]: You watch them become wealthy.
[SPEAKER_02]: You watch the house expand and then you watch them continue to become wealthier and wealthier and the house to continue to expand.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you start seeing
[SPEAKER_02]: pulses.
[SPEAKER_02]: You start seeing spheres, other worlds contained within these massive orbs, and the house keeps expanding.
[SPEAKER_02]: They keep building.
[SPEAKER_02]: it almost seems like they just never stopped building as long as they were alive and they've just been constructing and puncturing into different spheres and it is almost impossible to know how large on the inside this house it really is simply because they never stopped building and never stopped placing new rooms in new places, in new sections of this colossal multiverse that is strike.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you see like glimpses of worlds beyond and people coming and going and for a moment like you see these other places and you see that like other people turn them into their houses because you know when the original owners passed away like they had claim over this house But they didn't they didn't talk about the like the hallways they built to the Nether realm and somebody in the Nether realm moved into that house because it was old and abandoned
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
[SPEAKER_05]: But I am, well, I like the thing.
[SPEAKER_05]: At one point in time, this was no Netherworld house.
[SPEAKER_05]: This was just a simple farmer's estate.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I was that farmer.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I think everybody there is going to be pretty excited to learn who the new king of the house is.
[SPEAKER_05]: I believe.
[SPEAKER_02]: I bet they are.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so that's the situation.
[SPEAKER_02]: As you head inside, you can see there is two-year, you head up the stairs, you head inside, you head into the front door.
[SPEAKER_02]: Two-year left, there is like a spiral staircase head and up to the upper floors.
[SPEAKER_02]: In front of you,
[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes you find a word in a game that you've got to have to Google and confirm what you're, OK. Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: You can kind of see to your left is a spiral staircase to your right is sort of a foyer den.
[SPEAKER_02]: In front of you, you can see is clearly like set up as an outdoor sunroom, which direction do you are going to be heading towards?
[SPEAKER_05]: I guess it's hard for me to not be curious about what is a sunroom look like, even though I just walked inside and I'm in a city and I'm in a house, so I'm gonna head there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, as you head into the sun room, um, you realize like what the reality of this house is, which is to say, imagine if like, you didn't see this on the outside on the outside, it was just like a nice house, but now that you're in the salarium, like, you can see, uh, how do you react when you see all of the multiverse, uh, swirling around you and infinity?
[SPEAKER_05]: So it's okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
[SPEAKER_05]: I think
[SPEAKER_05]: I think that I could handle it, what I understood it was just prejudiced, but now I'm I am.
[SPEAKER_05]: So you're saying I'm seeing infinity before me.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like through the sort of like upper window screen, sun roof of a sun room.
[SPEAKER_02]: Infinity is swirling all around you as sort of this house seems to have been built into a sort of multi-versal junction point connecting all things.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, you know, I've been, I've been, I've been, I'm, it's not my first time around the universe.
[SPEAKER_05]: Look, I'm not, I'm not the farm boy that I left this house as, you know?
[SPEAKER_05]: So I play it cool, you know?
[SPEAKER_05]: I play it cool.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, you know, maybe internally I'm feeling to myself, this is a little overwhelming and my sort of inherently terrified as, you know, not a mortal man, but it's, but still quite, literally, you know, at least the bones of a normal man.
[SPEAKER_05]: I woke up and I got a nice, a nice, a nice green-sing-ver-dude.
[SPEAKER_02]: uh... from around the corner you uh... now that you said something out loud from around the corner around like behind some shells and sort of uh... you just here oh we have visitor we have possibly a customer possibly a client wonderful uh... and you see the tale before you see a person uh... and a massive uh... like
[SPEAKER_02]: between a ten and eleven foot tall crocodile, wearing a crushed velvet suit, sort of lurches around the corner and sort of like begins sort of walking around you kind of half predatory half delightedly.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, it is wonderful to see you thank you so much
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I'm actually a great question here.
[SPEAKER_05]: That is a great question.
[SPEAKER_05]: What you could do for me.
[SPEAKER_05]: I am in fact curious what everyone here can do for me.
[SPEAKER_05]: For my name is Parker S. And if you look in and I pull out the dean and I hold it, this is actually my house.
[SPEAKER_01]: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
[SPEAKER_02]: uh... and is uh... like grabs it with one of its crocodile claws and he looks at it and he puts it down and he kind of like bats it back and forth with the with the edge of his now his continues to walk in a circle this is quite the dilemma quite the dilemma quite the dilemma indeed hmm says here the he who are the rightful owner of this house as it exists
[SPEAKER_02]: in sphere 14765, this is quite the dilemma, for you see, and like with a tail swipe, it knocks a book off of a shelf that flops open to a deed on another page.
[SPEAKER_02]: I, legal owner of this house
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I think like, what a great question.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think like, uh, pause, it instantly pauses Jeff, which I mean, it has to mean that it instantly pauses, uh, the crocodile, well, I mean, I came into the house in severe 2, 4, 6, 8, 0.
[SPEAKER_02]: Where did you come from?
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I have to, I mean, I, I got to be honest, I kind of, I came from the city, you know, the whole, the, I would dare I say the full crum of this whole day multi versus far as as far as I know, but if you want to call it sphere 145 or whatever's on that sheet, that's fine by me, but look.
[SPEAKER_05]: I remember when this house was nothing more than four walls, uh, uh, a straw-fetched roof in a family.
[SPEAKER_02]: On a logging, here it goes.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: I remember I was when I was when I was when I had much more when I had a penis between my legs and an asshole and a mouth and nose and eyes and ears.
[SPEAKER_05]: The things that I saw and heard in here when make you make your blood curdle.
[SPEAKER_05]: He's it was wholesome, family memories, a family coming together against the odds surviving.
[SPEAKER_05]: But now I'm not the same farm boy I left this house.
[SPEAKER_05]: I return, well, not exactly a man, but a skeleton man, and this is my house.
[SPEAKER_05]: And it wasn't on anyone who's added to it or come back or say they're from, who's a what's it?
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know is where, this is my house first and foremost.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I think it's past time.
[SPEAKER_05]: The tenants here start giving me my do.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think kind of pauses and like, Croxes head and is like,
[SPEAKER_02]: what is your I think like smiles with I mean you don't you don't drop this character in and not get to use the euphemism smiles with a crocodile smile as sure like what is
[SPEAKER_02]: that you intend to do with this house.
[SPEAKER_05]: If I may ask, of course, if I mean, that's a, that's a, you know, a completely reasonable question for your new landlord, you know, I, I want to, I have been a lot of things in my life, lives really.
[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, God knows I've gone much past the, whatever I thought possible the years that I'd be on this, in this fucked up universe, what I want to do is pretty simple.
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't want to, I don't want to intrude on whatever your business is.
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't want you to, but I want to be able to run mine.
[SPEAKER_05]: I want, you know where you go to the beach?
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, listen, you know when you go to the beach, and there's a store,
[SPEAKER_05]: that sells like old candy at it.
[SPEAKER_05]: Could does that, does that track for you, sir?
[SPEAKER_05]: Do you know what I'm talking, where it's, where it's selling, where it's selling, uh, uh, uh, saltwater taffies.
[SPEAKER_05]: They're selling all the kinds of candies and sodas they made before they really knew how to mate candies and sodas.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, do you know what I'm talking about?
[SPEAKER_02]: Bye.
[SPEAKER_02]: No of a shop where they sell those sort of road kill animals for them you do tear into with your massive jaws it kind of similar to that Yeah, but imagine okay, I'm all right good.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's a good jumping off point.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's sort of like that, but then also if the it was animals you're like, oh, I didn't know they still made those Oh sure sure sure
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, you're no biques, that's sort of thing.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I thought those were all good.
[SPEAKER_05]: I thought people didn't really like the taste of those anymore.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's got a fight full, this is a delightful, you know, I too fancy myself a shopkeeper and if I'm being completely honest, I was I ain't this place as a sort of central location for the various comers and goers of this house to sell objects that they may find as I don't know if you know this but the house has changed a bit since you Well, as you so colorfully put it since there was a dick between your legs
[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, yeah, I think I can tell that, and I sort of try and laugh, but it just sounds like my lower jarg, like sort of slamming over and over against my skull.
[SPEAKER_05]: It sounds like perhaps a partnership might be in order.
[SPEAKER_05]: So, wait a minute, you're telling me you want to run some sort of kind of convenient store, but specifically for the people that live in this house?
[SPEAKER_02]: for the various of a magical or haunted or horrifying objects that should not be that they uncover yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: We would, I think, I think a natural extension of that would be candies and treats and souvenirs.
[SPEAKER_02]: Imagine if you will and like now he's kind of pacing around you and like more of a circle.
[SPEAKER_02]: Imagine if you will.
[SPEAKER_02]: You have entered a house from some sphere on the outer edge of the multiverse.
[SPEAKER_02]: you explore this cavernous infinite space.
[SPEAKER_02]: You find something that should not be the defies all of the laws of reality.
[SPEAKER_02]: Would you not want?
[SPEAKER_02]: Perhaps a T-shirt?
[SPEAKER_02]: Perhaps a nice treat to sell or treatment.
[SPEAKER_05]: A petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite, a petite,
[SPEAKER_02]: putting aside the choice of term?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you understand?
[SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, you see, you see the vision here.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's a very natural partnership here with a frankly captive clientele that the two of us together, we could, if only, if only, could make something very profitable.
[SPEAKER_05]: If only why, why can't we do this amazing idea?
[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, it's good sir.
[SPEAKER_05]: I have to tell you, this seems like absolute perfect happenstance.
[SPEAKER_05]: You come to me a man who knows business and I am a man of the stars, a magic walking skeleton man that wants to do nothing more than service the good people of this house.
[SPEAKER_05]: What if, what if, oldly?
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, there is the house lord.
[SPEAKER_02]: If we could perhaps, and I think like kind of like,
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, like rolls his, uh, the best way to describe it is he rolls his eyes with the exact effect of a cartoon fantasy vizier of like a, you know, only we could deal with the house Lord and then I mean certainly claims of the rest of the house would fall in line fairly quickly, but alas, what are we supposed to do?
[SPEAKER_05]: Who is this houselord?
[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, unless I'm not understanding my document, when I, if there is going to be anyone who is the original, now listen, I don't mind people living in this house.
[SPEAKER_05]: In fact, I think with this idea in mind, it actually seems like a great resource for us to keep our small business alive.
[SPEAKER_05]: But if anyone was going to be the Lord, if anyone in this big house was going to be the Lord, should it not be I, the original farmboard from, from pencil nowhere, raised up my boot straps.
[SPEAKER_05]: talk when I was alive.
[SPEAKER_05]: Should I not be that house lord?
[SPEAKER_02]: I could not have said it better myself and like wrapping you really quickly in his tail just enough to like spin you on your heels back towards the stairs.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're at the upper level of the house lives the well originally house guardian that upon the death of every of the
[SPEAKER_02]: refashioned himself into what he described as the house lord there have been pretenders to his throat but only one of them seems to be the proper the challenge is uh and perhaps the opportunity is there is well you'll see there are opportunities to perhaps ease the burden of eliminating the house lord if well we don't have to be so hasty i mean you just said this guy used to work for me or at
[SPEAKER_02]: I suppose that is true, perhaps there is an entrepreneurial spirit or professional loyalty here.
[SPEAKER_02]: At the very least, simple intimidation of one's superiors.
[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I mean, I'm superior.
[SPEAKER_05]: I would say exactly, I have the superior.
[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, you're telling me, this guy is basically the glorified groundskeeper and I've been supposed to call him the Lord.
[SPEAKER_05]: Now, I mean, this will not stand, I'm Parker S.
[SPEAKER_02]: you are indeed and so go forth, claim your, claim your place and I'll talk to the next one when you drop dead anyway.
[SPEAKER_02]: Continue by Lee.
[SPEAKER_02]: Alright, bye.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like a lays back down, puts his head, kind of sleeping cat style, dumb son of a bitch.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't hear that.
[SPEAKER_02]: uh... as you as you head towards the spiral staircase you immediately hear uh... the clanging of steel uh... they're the sounds you know crashing of the crashing of wood the clanging of steel uh... there is a crisis happening on the stairwell uh... i i start taking i you know i i kind of wrote i pick up my stepbook as i'm like uh... someone's messing up my house
[SPEAKER_02]: uh... you arrive as you start to climb up the stairs uh... i'm gonna ask you for a skill roll because uh... i think that you need to dodge uh... i need to know how quickly you can dodge a body gotcha okay so i roll a d6 yeah romi uh... romi me remind myself i believe it is yes you're gonna roll me one d sick no you're gonna
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, I don't think that's possible.
[SPEAKER_02]: I've rolled this six total and my skill is five.
[SPEAKER_02]: Great, okay, take you are going to lose two points of stamina and as and I need to know what it looks like when you put yourself back together very literally because like as you start to climb the stairs
[SPEAKER_02]: comes is hurled at full speed down the stairs, crashes into the wall of the spiral staircase, slams into you at full speed and scatters your bones to all corners around the room.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, totally.
[SPEAKER_05]: That makes sense.
[SPEAKER_05]: I've basically, it was a bit of a bone explosion.
[SPEAKER_05]: They went everywhere.
[SPEAKER_05]: You know, they all sort of like,
[SPEAKER_05]: they're sort of magnetized to one another.
[SPEAKER_05]: They sort of slowly, like, there's almost something strangely organic, though, I mean, I know they're organic.
[SPEAKER_05]: They are hard, like, they kind of slither all together and sort of slowly gets closer and closer together, not way up.
[SPEAKER_05]: early over the course of like a minute or so.
[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, until they kind of just like get, they start like glowing a little and they kind of get back into human form, but maybe like the, the, the, maybe like the hands or like the right hands with a left hand should be like, I don't get it quite right because I have to do it really fast.
[SPEAKER_05]: And it's like every, it's like, there's like a bigger red board.
[SPEAKER_05]: There should be a smaller one.
[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, and I put myself finally back together and I go, dude, what the hell?
[SPEAKER_05]: a skeleton, I'm God, no way, I am a skeleton, but my name is Parker Ressen, and I come from a long line of, okay, really quickly, really quickly, I was a man hundreds of years ago, and I owned this house, and now I'm back because I got turned into a skeleton, but I'm still the same guy, I'm still part of that incredible
[SPEAKER_02]: uh... he was he was standing with uh... like an unguarded fencing position and he's by this point lower to his sword has started like doing uh... air math with his fingers to try and like keep track of the bits of laurel what i uh-huh uh-huh
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I do believe that once upon that in another life and another sphere, our families were great political allies.
[SPEAKER_02]: I believe this.
[SPEAKER_02]: However, and kind of like inches closer, the others, those bastard pretenders might not feel the same.
[SPEAKER_02]: Your family may your reputation may precede you.
[SPEAKER_02]: I advise we move with caution.
[SPEAKER_02]: I advise we strike fast and I advise that we leave
[SPEAKER_02]: Now, okay, so let me get this straight.
[SPEAKER_05]: These pretenders, are these the, I've heard tell of them from other denizens of this house.
[SPEAKER_05]: Are these the self-proclaimed lords of this house?
[SPEAKER_02]: They are claimants to the throne.
[SPEAKER_02]: I myself own a claimant of the throne.
[SPEAKER_02]: uh... i and kind of takes like a nightly kneel and uh... sir crest worth the blue uh... at your service parker as lord of this house great the bastards upstairs the bastards upstairs now uh... uh... or christwet i and i'm gonna say this is tax please i can
[SPEAKER_05]: You know, the first thing I saw with you is I did see you get thrown down the stairs pretty violently, can you kind of tell me what was going on up there that led to that because I'd like to kind of go in, you know, with as much information as I can and if I'm going to be honest and I'm looking for allies, a guy who seemingly got thrown down stairs is not necessarily, you know, I'm kind of just trying to suck out your strength.
[SPEAKER_05]: Let's let's just put it like that as a word and that's important to do as a word.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was struck from behind.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was, I was ambushed by the bastard claimant of the throne Lord Crestwood, the yellow.
[SPEAKER_02]: Puh!
[SPEAKER_02]: She struck me from behind and sent me hurtling down the stairs.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's also a Crestwood?
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, well, she is.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we are.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I am.
[SPEAKER_02]: Are you aware of the theory of the multiverse?
[SPEAKER_05]: I think I get the big, I get the big points.
[SPEAKER_05]: I get the summary, yeah, there's a bunch of multi-verses and they all kind of converge on the big house.
[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, is there something I'm missing?
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, she claims a liar with a poison tongue to be the noble guardian destined to de-throw the Lord of the house.
[SPEAKER_02]: I, knowing through the truth in my heart,
[SPEAKER_02]: and the and the destined warrior that will dethrone the lord of the house and liberate at once and for all.
[SPEAKER_02]: She claims that her family raised her as a warrior with this singular purpose, pathetic lies of a child pretending to be a soldier.
[SPEAKER_02]: I know from my noble upbringing that I was raised from birth to liberate this house with the single purpose of defeating the
[SPEAKER_02]: She believes that because we have the same parents with slightly differently spell names that she is somehow entitled to this more those than I am, but I was raised from this from birth.
[SPEAKER_02]: Are you following?
[SPEAKER_02]: Are you following?
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I think I am.
[SPEAKER_05]: So is she your sister or is she like a slightly different version of you from a different universe?
[SPEAKER_05]: Just tell me that and I think I'll pretty much understand your entire thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, yeah, this is when this is when this is when the situation pops off from over your like you hear the you hear the scraping of metal on wood from like the doorway of the house and you kind of turn just in time to see over to see like from behind you a night in the exact same clothing as sir crest would raises
[SPEAKER_02]: Full-ish pretenders, doppelgangers, uh, be steel impersonators wearing my face.
[SPEAKER_02]: They claim to be me of other worlds, but I, Sir Crest, would the red shall liberate this house and defeat the Lord of the House.
[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
[SPEAKER_05]: You know what?
[SPEAKER_05]: I've got a pretty good idea about what's going on here.
[SPEAKER_05]: So Chris went the way.
[SPEAKER_05]: It read.
[SPEAKER_05]: It is I of the S clan.
[SPEAKER_05]: The original owners of this house.
[SPEAKER_05]: Do you dare to go against your original former master your political ally?
[SPEAKER_05]: The original S clan that owns this or do you swear loyal to be here now where you stand?
[SPEAKER_02]: He'd like takes a step back.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna ask you to roll, roll me lock here.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think this could go, there's at least a chance and you have a look of 11 that this could go, good, go, roll.
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, cool.
[SPEAKER_05]: Two, two, so four on two, aren't a left.
[SPEAKER_02]: Great, your lock drops the 10, um, crest with the red takes a knee immediately and is like, the S clan, they saved my life, they gave me a purpose, they raised me from birth.
[SPEAKER_02]: to lay waste to the Lord of the house.
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, that's awesome, that's so good.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I love it, I really do.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm sure it's, I know the story actually and it's, it's super great and we're gonna have plenty of time to talk about it.
[SPEAKER_05]: But we kind of got to keep moving here.
[SPEAKER_05]: So as long as you pledge field to me, that's wonderful.
[SPEAKER_05]: Welcome.
[SPEAKER_05]: I sort of take a, I look around the room and I see like a broom and I like kind of quick a bit of it and I just go butter some stuff under my breath and I night him rise.
[SPEAKER_02]: Sir Crestwood the red for you are now a night in the house of S. Me or fellow nights are Crestwood the blue Sir Crestwood the blue I see They like have like a clear stand off and then like hover and then from above you here
[SPEAKER_02]: The clan of S, the clan that murdered my parents, left my kingdom to ruin and coming like tearing down the stairs swirling a flail over her head is
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh man, so good to see you after all these years.
[SPEAKER_05]: Did I save my last name was S?
[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, of course I did.
[SPEAKER_05]: You know, uh, uh, uh, ma'am.
[SPEAKER_02]: Do you understand the concept of a multiverse?
[SPEAKER_02]: I understand the concept that I was raised by birth to seek vengeance upon you and this and this Lord of your house to rid the world of the final stain of your putrid legacy.
[SPEAKER_02]: That is what I understand.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, wait a minute, hold on.
[SPEAKER_05]: This is sort of a, would you kill a baby just because it's parents were bad?
[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, that's kind of what you're hitting me with now.
[SPEAKER_05]: I didn't know about any of this.
[SPEAKER_05]: I've been a skeleton for the last 300 years.
[SPEAKER_05]: I had no body of this stuff till today.
[SPEAKER_05]: I can't, by the way, my seed is gone.
[SPEAKER_05]: I have no genitals to speak of.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm a bad, big, floating pile of bones.
[SPEAKER_02]: She kind of stops like mid swing of the flail.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's an interesting question.
[SPEAKER_02]: If the baby would killing the baby prevent a future catastrophe, I mean, it's a baby, right, but like, is this a situation in this situation that you posit?
[SPEAKER_02]: She's like now leaning against the wall.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think the other two crestuates are equally, equally wrapped and leaning against the wall.
[SPEAKER_02]: Is this a, is this, is this a situation where I have been tasked with killing a baby that exists now or have I been sent to a two an earlier time to a verdict attached to free by killing the baby.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the two crest was there.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's a good point.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, that actually does change things the context in which you're fighting the baby does meet a lot.
[SPEAKER_02]: It means a lot.
[SPEAKER_02]: It changes a lot.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_05]: I guess my current point stands, which is.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's a baby.
[SPEAKER_05]: You're gonna kill a baby.
[SPEAKER_05]: Are you guys like nights?
[SPEAKER_02]: The other, uh, I think all three Crestwood's paws for a moment.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean,
[SPEAKER_02]: It's sort of an ethical quandary really when you think about it.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, if this baby could potentially cause great blutch.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's got some real ethical implication.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's really, I mean, it's a brainteaser is what it is.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's sort of a, it's a moral tip.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're morally testing us to see if we're loyal enough to be the nights in your retinue.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is why this is why I pledged field to it.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what it is.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is exactly why we pledged field to it.
[SPEAKER_05]: Exactly right now Floor now go across with the yellow.
[SPEAKER_05]: You're thinking to yourself probably how could a man who is Capable of such brain teasery be nothing more than who is the rightful Lord of this house and will lead you into your clan back to greatness from the gutter from once you came She like she is so deep in thought of like
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no that's airproof logic.
[SPEAKER_02]: I got nothing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go kill the Lord of the house.
[SPEAKER_02]: Thank God.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
[SPEAKER_05]: Let's do it.
[SPEAKER_05]: Nice.
[SPEAKER_05]: A symbol.
[SPEAKER_02]: They all like stand up and get ready and bursting through running up the stairs kicking down a door.
[SPEAKER_02]: And there in front of you is the Lord of the house.
[SPEAKER_02]: In.
[SPEAKER_02]: what appears to be like as you open this door, you open it not to the upper floor of a house.
[SPEAKER_02]: But to a gigantic cavern like space, seemingly infinite in all directions.
[SPEAKER_02]: Inside there is a what appears to be like a like a lunar rover.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's a big light in the center, a doorway.
[SPEAKER_02]: It appears almost like a winna bago shape.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's got a giant fin on top and there.
[SPEAKER_02]: sitting on a throne hoverding above the ground as propelled by jet engines is the is the Lord of the House.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is a gigantic sea lion that is floating in the chair putting the finishing touches on his lunar exploration module.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_05]: And so I'm with the Crestwoods we go in.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, let's, you know, let's try to pull a machine before anything else.
[SPEAKER_05]: Good sir, are you the Lord of this house?
[SPEAKER_05]: It's Protector.
[SPEAKER_05]: I am.
[SPEAKER_05]: I am.
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, are you my lunar exploration crew?
[SPEAKER_05]: Not quite.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm actually something far greater as soon as you hear my name and see the sigil that I bear on this is here, deed here.
[SPEAKER_05]: You may want to rethink how you address me.
[SPEAKER_05]: I sought her up to him and hand him the deed of the house.
[SPEAKER_02]: He pauses with a real serious look.
[SPEAKER_02]: His brow furrows.
[SPEAKER_02]: He looks at the seal.
[SPEAKER_02]: was the last of the S-clad have arrived.
[SPEAKER_02]: Just in time, just in time for us to salvage the city of Troika and achieve our destiny.
[SPEAKER_02]: You are here to help us.
[SPEAKER_02]: You are here to help us reach and explore the moon.
[SPEAKER_05]: No, no, no, I'm here to live in my house.
[SPEAKER_02]: the moon and gestures towards this uh... gestures towards this uh... there's like uh... a jet engine rocket car this was your family legacy your father and your father's father and your father's father's father's father this was all they would talk about was how they would they they they they they set their lives two words building a vessel that would take us to the moon this was there this was their life's purpose this entire house was built
[SPEAKER_02]: Why do you think there's a there's a there's a rocket pad on the top of your house If not to build the rocket that will take you and your family to the moon buddy buddy Father's father father father father father.
[SPEAKER_05]: I know proud promise is far back as you go We ain't gonna find my daddy cuz I'm the one that started this house My name's Parker ass ever heard of it Parker ass.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, surely
[SPEAKER_02]: a hot and like he kind of like sits back he's like I think he floats towards a wall takes a book up like a genealogy book off of the jails and starts flipping ah the earliest descendant of the s-clam the earliest descendant I started that shit man before that my my row we had a different last name but then we came over on their space may flower they changed my name to s
[SPEAKER_02]: Much has changed in your family's destiny since your humble origins on the farm.
[SPEAKER_02]: You face a great decision.
[SPEAKER_02]: Final bearer of the S-Claner, do you pick up the work of your descendants and do you head to the moon, or do you forsake the family and leave it to me to reclaim the glory of your family?
[SPEAKER_02]: You can either get in the ship,
[SPEAKER_02]: when we will have a problem.
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, can I ask a couple clarifying questions before I get in the ship?
[SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_05]: Why do we need to go to the moon?
[SPEAKER_05]: What is that?
[SPEAKER_05]: Why is that our, what do we, what's up there?
[SPEAKER_05]: What do we need from there?
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, it's your family destiny.
[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
[SPEAKER_05]: No, I know that, but, but what, what like, what happens when we get there?
[SPEAKER_05]: Why did we want to go there originally?
[SPEAKER_05]: What does I have to do with the big multi universe house?
[SPEAKER_05]: Also, have people been to the moon?
[SPEAKER_05]: Like, I mean, you probably couldn't even count the number of times people have been to the moon, right?
[SPEAKER_05]: At this point, I mean, that's a pretty normal place to go, no?
[SPEAKER_02]: Are you saying that people have gone to the other people have gone to the...
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, man, how long have you been in here?
[SPEAKER_02]: It's, well, I spoke to your father, his father, his father, and so that must have been how long have you been a skeleton?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, how long when did you die?
[SPEAKER_05]: a couple hundred years ago.
[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I think it's hard to know with all that, you know, you start losing concepts of the mortal world, sort of a portrait of Dorian Gray situation in a way.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it calls over calls over the three surgressed woods is like, they're all like referring to things that start like referring to star charts and things.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, I've been
[SPEAKER_05]: you've got some catching up to do oh my god oh my god I've missed so much are you telling me the people have been to the moon at that time a lot of times i mean be i'm pretty sure it's that there's some ways more advanced than uh... the uh... the civilization down here i mean they they are cooking up there as far as i know
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so like they actually got to the moon though, because I'm going to level with you and he gestures towards the towards the ropes on hooks that are clearly at the top of this ship that you did not notice before.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was fully prepared to just fake it when it went fake it and claim credit for it.
[SPEAKER_02]: This was just really going to be a ruse.
[SPEAKER_05]: So what was going to happen when I got gotten the ship.
[SPEAKER_02]: You told me to get, I was just going to take you to the other side of the cavern system.
[SPEAKER_02]: You were going to see the moon
[SPEAKER_05]: And, oh, God, that's just an order of elephant that you'd then call them moon elephant.
[SPEAKER_02]: At that moment, you start hearing crashing and stopping towards your location.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's just a regular elephant isn't it?
[SPEAKER_02]: It's listen, it was it was going to be very exciting and cool when it rampaged, which is why that we had been
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, making an angry and intentionally and flaming at Stemper for years, we should probably move at which point, the quote unquote space vessel is toward to shreds by a rampaging elephant.
[SPEAKER_05]: Ah fuck, okay, all right, well, all right, all right, all right.
[SPEAKER_05]: You know, I've been, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm my first time around the block, because on the first time I've seen a mad man go insane and go to animals into their own type of insanity for insane machinations.
[SPEAKER_05]: What I need to know from you, Mr. Wallace, Mr. Sea Lion, man, do you, is this my house?
[SPEAKER_02]: This is, this is, I say this was great pride.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is your house, and I guess also this is your elephant.
[SPEAKER_05]: Then come on, help me stop this thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, let's, let's everyone, whoever will work together, we're gonna stop in elephant today.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's do it.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's very, it's very, very angry.
[SPEAKER_02]: How are you planning on stopping this elephant?
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I am a big pile.
[SPEAKER_05]: I am a big, I'm a bunch of bones, you know?
[SPEAKER_05]: And I can shift into different forms.
[SPEAKER_05]: And what are elephant's scared of?
[SPEAKER_05]: Nice.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's classic.
[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, this is a classic store, everybody in their grandmother knows this.
[SPEAKER_05]: Skeletons are, or sorry, no, elephants are scared of mouse.
[SPEAKER_05]: And what's even scarier than a mouse?
[SPEAKER_02]: House made a bones that's a natural that's a natural next step.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's an natural solution that concept bone mouse.
[SPEAKER_05]: Now what I need from you guys is to buy me a little time.
[SPEAKER_05]: I need to spend a couple minutes shifting and then I can turn into a bone mouse.
[SPEAKER_05]: Kind of I mean, I'll look I hope I get looks close.
[SPEAKER_05]: I'm basically going to rearrange my spinal cord And then all my parts and I'll probably hide this skull because I don't really know what maybe that maybe I could turn the skull all around that could be the nose of the mouth the mouse And I kind of I just I need some time is what I'm saying.
[SPEAKER_02]: She can you can buy me some time need time you shall have warriors assemble and they like
[SPEAKER_02]: rush at the uh you've got time to test your luck they rush at the elephant uh which is rampaging it is clearly pissed off and is looking for vengeance against the lord of the house they rush at it and uh
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to say you have a lot of time because it's a rampaging elephant and it massacres these three very very quickly totally head but to one of them they go straight into a pile of rocks the another one is just straight up tries to try to rush it gets like head flooded and then trampled
[SPEAKER_02]: it is a horrifying ugly thing but they do buy you at least a little bit of time while it wraps the third uh, circumcised wood and it's trunk and then just sort of slams it from wall to wall for a minute.
[SPEAKER_05]: Right, totally.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let's let's see what I can do.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'll draw all roll 2d6.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, roll me 2d6.
[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, you're testing your lock so you want to roll under a 10.
[SPEAKER_02]: Matches, you're trying to roll equal or under.
[SPEAKER_02]: So you exactly do it.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think what I'm going to what I'm going to say is It exactly works You have turned into a mouse this thing rushes at you the second because it's a match.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's close So we see it rush at you.
[SPEAKER_02]: It nearly stomps on you.
[SPEAKER_02]: It sees the URL mouse it rears back on its two back feet It kind of tumbles backwards onto its back at crushes the quote unquote lunar vessel
[SPEAKER_02]: uh... and then kind of rolls over and starts like backing away and tear squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak it is uh... thrashing and tearing through this uh... this kid this elaborate cave system we are watching this elaborate fake moon landing set get torn as under to the great dismay of the lord of the house
[SPEAKER_02]: uh... and uh... it finally like it gets so stressed that it kind of passes out falls over and flops on its side and starts napping what guys i look around and i i look for the crestwoods is that is the sealer is the is the seal guy dead to uh... the seal guy has been knocked off of his knocked off of his chair and is like uh... scrambling back into it uh... but i think that he's okay
[SPEAKER_02]: Look, we look, we did it.
[SPEAKER_05]: Lord and protector of the Lord, that your wonderful master is returned and showed dominance over the animals that play pretend in my steed.
[SPEAKER_05]: Now, good sir, will you join me in my quest to start the best goddamn convenience store this house has ever seen?
[SPEAKER_02]: I do have a bunch of recording equipment that we can probably sell when getting investment back on.
[SPEAKER_02]: Call it a deal.
[SPEAKER_05]: All right, there we go.
[SPEAKER_05]: I sort of put out my, I put what is basically a bunch of my finger bones out that have turned into a little tail, but it's just a bunch of finger bones all stuck together.
[SPEAKER_05]: And I put it out to his hand like it's a hand.
[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
[SPEAKER_02]: He slaps it with his big wet floppy sea lion of flipper.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the final thing that we see is the front of the house has been converted into a little shop.
[SPEAKER_02]: There are various items.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's a bunch of like fake moon landing filming equipment.
[SPEAKER_02]: uh... we've got our candies and sodas and at that moment uh... from the far east wing of the house you hear clanking and stomping is a bunch of rusted uh... robots come marching and uh... they arrive at the store just in time to say we are the rifle owners of this house has dictated from automatao we have come to claim our
[SPEAKER_05]: uh... yeah but you're gonna have to buy something first great uh... and that is game oh yeah that was a joy that was a delight thank you so much for this this was magnific uh... i had such a good time i love this is this is great
[SPEAKER_02]: I love the vibes.
[SPEAKER_02]: I pulled from a bunch of different, like, uh, little, like, micro adventures.
[SPEAKER_02]: All of us kind of stringing together on the fly and all of them, like, the vibes and them are all really fun and weird.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, this was a delight.
[SPEAKER_02]: What was your favorite moment from play?
[SPEAKER_05]: Um, I, I did, I, I, I, I, I was really enamored with the Crocodile character.
[SPEAKER_05]: I really, I really liked, though whatever would reason the detail of him having a crushed velvet suit really brought him to life for a bit of a way that can't quite describe.
[SPEAKER_05]: But I was just like, yep, I know exactly this motherfucker's DL now.
[SPEAKER_02]: I can't even take credit for that.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's fully just how he's described in this adventure, the house on Lich Lane, but it's so funny to me.
[SPEAKER_02]: The second that you said you wanted to turn this house into a shop, it's described.
[SPEAKER_02]: This character is described as a crocodilian merchant and is meant to be here to buy magical items that you come across.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, it's so funny that there was already a guy.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is the first room that you find that is trying to do the same thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's just got to be the crux of the adventure.
[SPEAKER_05]: I love it, I love it, I love it.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's very, I don't know if you play magic in the gathering, but I was giving me very dusk warrant vibes.
[SPEAKER_05]: Sure, sure.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, which I love.
[SPEAKER_05]: I like it was like a house that it goes on forever, is such a fun setting.
[SPEAKER_02]: This was Magnificent, and thank you so much for this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Before you wrap things up, where can people find you and your work online?

[SPEAKER_05]: of different children seem to own it, and none of them want to give it up to me.
[SPEAKER_05]: So the Luke man of the Luke man seem to find me on all platforms.

[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks pass me and thanks again to Luke for coming on to the show.
