Speaker 1: Lock up boys tonight.

Speaker 2: He is a feast for the Capitol. Fie the cook

Speaker 2: is in the kitchen, looks down the sideline.

Speaker 3: He's got kickade for a twenty three yard touchdown and

Speaker 3: as intercepted, jumping up with the air is Bedford.

Speaker 1: This these One Bill's Live.

Speaker 2: All Right, Welcome to a Thursday edition of One Bill's Live.

Speaker 2: Chris Brown Steve Tasker with you live from the Bill

Speaker 2: Store on Abbott Road here in Orchard Park. So if

Speaker 2: you're in the area and you gotta do some bill shopping,

Speaker 2: pop in, say hello, hop on the mic if you

Speaker 2: have a question. So we have our live mic here

Speaker 2: just to stage right of us, and we're across the

Speaker 2: street from the News which is shaping up fast and

Speaker 2: meanwhile behind us former high Mark Stadium being torn asunder.

Speaker 2: We heard some rumblings that the scoreboard is coming down

Speaker 2: at some point today. If it comes down during the show,

Speaker 2: I'm going to venture a guess that we're going to

Speaker 2: be audibly able to hear it, Yeah, because it's pretty

Speaker 2: big and it's right here.

Speaker 4: I mean it's If it doesn't fall the right way,

Speaker 4: the building is going to get damaged. So we'll see

Speaker 4: it's we're seeing as much progress in the demolition of

Speaker 4: former high Mark as we did at one point in

Speaker 4: the construction of the new high Mark. You know, they're

Speaker 4: they're they're like a bar graph that's changing as we speak.

Speaker 4: In the direct proportion. In direct proportions, you can really

Speaker 4: see the exterior starting to take shape. I'm talking about

Speaker 4: the landscaping, walkways, causeway, I mean the you know, the

Speaker 4: founder or the family Anily circle. All the exterior movement,

Speaker 4: the concrete pavement, landscaping, the plantings, everything, it's like wow.

Speaker 4: Day to day, just this week, it's been huge. They

Speaker 4: were out here yesterday throwing blacktop down.

Speaker 2: Next month the bison will be rolling in for family circles.

Speaker 2: I think they're coming one at a time.

Speaker 4: I have a proposal that we should do the show

Speaker 4: like right.

Speaker 2: At family circles, right next to the guys underneath the

Speaker 2: bison as they're putting them in, like in the way

Speaker 2: almost we need to be right, We've got to talk

Speaker 2: over all the riveting until we got tell the workmen

Speaker 2: to be quiet so we can do the show. I

Speaker 2: don't think that's how close I think our show needs

Speaker 2: to be to the bust. That's not going to go over. Well, yeah,

Speaker 2: June is when the bison roll in, so that'll be

Speaker 2: cool to see.

Speaker 4: I want the bison to look at us and go,

Speaker 4: who are these guys in the way here? I mean,

Speaker 4: I want like.

Speaker 2: Their futuristic to be in the way, their futuristic looking bison.

Speaker 4: I want to see those things so bad. I want

Speaker 4: to be in there.

Speaker 2: I'm sure we'll be able to get you one of

Speaker 2: those dollies that the mechanics use to slide under the car,

Speaker 2: and we'll give you one of those who can slide

Speaker 2: under the bison and look up at like admiringly, like.

Speaker 4: The grapes of rap I want to hug them and

Speaker 4: them them.

Speaker 2: Okay, tell us about the rabbit. George Bill's notes Ota

Speaker 2: practice number three today for the team. It is not

Speaker 2: open to the media, so not much for us to

Speaker 2: report other than they're practicing. We hope to get Dion

Speaker 2: Walker and TJ. Sanders on after practice today live from

Speaker 2: the practice field. Depends on when practice wraps up this afternoon.

Speaker 2: It started at twelve forty five.

Speaker 4: It's a problem for us, as you can imagine, so

Speaker 4: we used to have the studios right there. I mean,

Speaker 4: they just.

Speaker 2: Walked right off the indoor field.

Speaker 4: Here we are. Now we're across the parking lot and

Speaker 4: they're off the practice field, and it's like, we're gonna

Speaker 4: we'll probably get them on Zoom, and I think the

Speaker 4: plan is like to get them on Zoom together, although

Speaker 4: we'll need a wide angle lens.

Speaker 2: Well, yeah, Dion and TJ are not small humans.

Speaker 4: We'll have to get them in you know, full three

Speaker 4: D glory. But yeah, so we may get them on

Speaker 4: and who knows. I mean, they'll stay out after practice

Speaker 4: and do something and we'll miss them.

Speaker 2: Well, hopefully we get them, so cross your fingers and toes.

Speaker 4: We haven't had Dion on the show ever, have we?

Speaker 2: I don't believe, so I think on zoom, I think

Speaker 2: we've had TJ once, Yeah, if I remember right. The

Speaker 2: Minnesota Vikings have requested in person second round interviews for

Speaker 2: their vacant GM position, with the following five candidates. Vikings

Speaker 2: Interim GM Rob Brazinski, Bronco's assistant GM, Reid Burkhardt, Bill's

Speaker 2: assistant GM, Terrence Gray, Ram's assistant GM John McKay, and

Speaker 2: Seahawks assistant GM Nolan Teasley. Brazinski is a long time

Speaker 2: Viking Vikings executive Burkhard and Gray each spent more than

Speaker 2: a decade in Minnesota. Earlier in their careers. McKay worked

Speaker 2: with Kevin O'Connell in LA, and Teasley is number two

Speaker 2: in personnel for the defending Super Bowl champs. Now, the

Speaker 2: important thing to remember here is if Terrence Gray is

Speaker 2: hired away from the Bills by the Vikings to be

Speaker 2: their next GM, the Bills would be awarded a pair

Speaker 2: of third round compensatory draft picks since he would qualify

Speaker 2: as a minority staff member. This is an addendum resolution

Speaker 2: to the Rooney rule. Those two third round compensatory picks

Speaker 2: would be awarded one in each of the next two drafts.

Speaker 2: That's not nothing.

Speaker 4: It's not nothing. And I get what the Rooney rule is,

Speaker 4: and I understand, but wouldn't wouldn't that be detrimental to

Speaker 4: certain I mean, why would the Minnesota Vikings want to

Speaker 4: give the Bills.

Speaker 2: It's not the Minnesota Vikings picks the league awards two.

Speaker 4: Say, like, so the Dolphins and the and the Patriots

Speaker 4: and the Jets aren't going to hire Terrence Gray and

Speaker 4: help their like get their guy, but they're gonna give

Speaker 4: their division opponents.

Speaker 2: I think I would like to, well, it's one pick

Speaker 2: in each of the next two drafts. I would like

Speaker 2: to think that if they feel that person is right

Speaker 2: for the job and it's going to help their organization

Speaker 2: immeasurably from a major leadership standpoint, being GM or head

Speaker 2: coach tho's the only two jobs that award two third

Speaker 2: round compensatory picks to the team that loses him. I

Speaker 2: would like to think there'd be a little more foresight

Speaker 2: than that.

Speaker 4: I would yes, but it would still be chips against

Speaker 4: your candidates opposed to one of these other guys. Because division.

Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess if it's if it's a tight race

Speaker 2: between two finalists, yeah, they might side with the team

Speaker 2: that doesn't give compensatory draft choices to a division opponent. Yeah.

Speaker 2: I think that's reasonable to assume, knowing how competitive the

Speaker 2: league is. That's one of those that's one of those

Speaker 2: unintended consequences that maybe aren't thought about in totality.

Speaker 4: So good luck to Terrence. Yeah, it'd be awesome.

Speaker 2: He spent over a decade in Minnesota as a young

Speaker 2: personnel guy. Sod be nice if it could come full

Speaker 2: circle for him. We wish him luck in developments across

Speaker 2: the street at the site of new Hi Mark Stadium.

Speaker 2: Our president of business Operations, Pete Welly, tweeted out photos

Speaker 2: today of the new mini field, which will be outside

Speaker 2: the north side of the stadium, basically between the stadium

Speaker 2: and Family Circle and should have plenty of game day activations.

Speaker 2: Just another cool feature to be explored this season come

Speaker 2: the fall. So just another feature as part of the

Speaker 2: tailgating and you know, pre game experience outside the.

Speaker 4: It's like a little thirty yard field. Yeah, and with

Speaker 4: little your five yard in zone.

Speaker 2: Five yard in zone.

Speaker 4: So it looks great. It's cool. Little it's cool, little

Speaker 4: addendum to the surroundings. It's it's gonna be the place

Speaker 4: is gonna be awesome inside and out. Yep, it really is.

Speaker 4: It's gonna be awesome.

Speaker 2: It's gonna be a major landmark.

Speaker 4: Yeah, it already is. I mean yeah. Uh.

Speaker 2: NFL dot Com put together a list just Pro Football

Speaker 2: Hall of Fame candidates for each team in the league

Speaker 2: and for the Bills. Eric ed Holme of NFL dot

Speaker 2: Com had one Steve Tasker listed for Buffalo. Here is

Speaker 2: what he wrote.

Speaker 4: Read what he said. Read what he says. Its awesome.

Speaker 4: It makes it sound like I could really play.

Speaker 2: Perhaps perhaps I am a bit biased because Tasker is

Speaker 2: a heck of a nice guy and we've done some

Speaker 2: videos together over the years, but I truly think he

Speaker 2: has a chance to make it as a senior candidate.

Speaker 2: Devin Hester getting in was yet another glass ceiling broken

Speaker 2: for Special Team stars, and Tasker's resume and reputation is

Speaker 2: about as strong as it gets. Seven time pro bowler,

Speaker 2: five time First Team All Pro. Buffalo has several Hall

Speaker 2: of very Good candidates over the next several years, but

Speaker 2: none with the kind of momentum that Tasker has after

Speaker 2: advancing to the semi finals in the seniors category last year. Yeah,

Speaker 2: well how about that.

Speaker 4: Yeah, So you hear rumblings and between you, I've told

Speaker 4: you this, the Hall of Fame stuff kind of wears

Speaker 4: you out, you know, And it's.

Speaker 2: Well, it's hard because you get your hopes up every

Speaker 2: year people tell you, Oh, it's looking good for you, buddy,

Speaker 2: looking good for you. That's right, and then that's right.

Speaker 2: There goes the rock and pull it out and I get.

Speaker 4: It to Fans are really nice. I'm and you know,

Speaker 4: I enjoy interacting with all the people who love the

Speaker 4: team and who watch me play and all. I love

Speaker 4: talking to him, getting to know him and all that.

Speaker 4: But it's it's, you know, it's obviously it's it's subject

Speaker 4: one for everybody to talk to me about, which I

Speaker 4: it's great. I'm very flattered by it. And last year.

Speaker 2: We were making a push last year.

Speaker 4: Last year it seemingly I got close and I've ever

Speaker 4: gotten before to getting in. And you know me, I

Speaker 4: don't really like talking about this stuff, but here it is.

Speaker 4: So you you threw it in the You had nothing

Speaker 4: to do with that that was going to be.

Speaker 2: Let me ask you this though, just for alternate thoughts

Speaker 2: to this subject. He said, there are a lot of

Speaker 2: Bill's players that would be in the Hall of very good.

Speaker 2: I know, there are a couple of names that even

Speaker 2: you think should be Pro football Hall of Fame worthy,

Speaker 2: definitely Bill's Wall of Fame worthy. So what would be

Speaker 2: your short list for players that you either think are

Speaker 2: Hall of Fame worthy or maybe even Hall of Fame worthy.

Speaker 4: Behind you, it'd be the guys from Ire would be

Speaker 4: Corney's been and Darryl Tally. Okay, Kent Hull was always

Speaker 4: a guy that was absolutely massive for that team in

Speaker 4: the years subsequent to that, Well, what about molds I

Speaker 4: was gonna say, that's my next thing. Eric molds Is

Speaker 4: is an elite player I've always had with the conversation

Speaker 4: goes around where you know, you're sitting around with all

Speaker 4: these guys like Bruce Jimpthamp, you have these conversations I've

Speaker 4: had him over the years where guys who said, if

Speaker 4: you could have all the Hall of Famers and then

Speaker 4: have a team put together a team of Hall of Famers,

Speaker 4: which would be awesome, or take the field of everybody else,

Speaker 4: you'd still have a freaking football team.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 4: Right, So Eric would be on that team for sure,

Speaker 4: and so would Cornie Bennett. There's some guys out there

Speaker 4: who were elite, phenomenal football players who Ted Washington.

Speaker 2: Ted Washington's another one. Ted Washington, He's got he was

Speaker 2: a run stuffer. So he doesn't have great numbers.

Speaker 4: Well that's the thing. You go back and look, and

Speaker 4: he's got like, over nineteen years of his career, he's

Speaker 4: got like four sacks or something. I'm exaggerating. I know

Speaker 4: his numbers are, but he doesn't have any sacks. But

Speaker 4: he never played on a defense that was outside the

Speaker 4: top five and run defense and it was because of him. Yeah,

Speaker 4: he was the reason. The guy was an absolute force

Speaker 4: and deserves to be considered just for that fact. So

Speaker 4: that Ted would be another one in the years since that.

Speaker 4: Ruben Brown would be another one who could who have

Speaker 4: a conversation about being in the Hall of Fame. He

Speaker 4: had like nine or eleven Pro bowls.

Speaker 2: He was a Bruce had even.

Speaker 4: Bruce was of Couse Bruce, He's he's like a one

Speaker 4: percent of one percent. So you know, all this stuff

Speaker 4: goes into the stew No, there's.

Speaker 2: On Brett Favara.

Speaker 4: Look how big he is he compared to Brett. It

Speaker 4: looks like it's out of out of He was a

Speaker 4: massive human being.

Speaker 2: Absolutely.

Speaker 4: I remember Marcellus White. He looks like his little brother,

Speaker 4: and Marcellus was a dude. So yeah, that, Yeah, there

Speaker 4: are guys who played for this franchise who had outstanding careers.

Speaker 4: Careers obviously they should be very, very proud of Cornelie

Speaker 4: on the Wall of Fame. Yes, Darryl Tally, Yes, Ted Washington,

Speaker 4: I would say yes. Now he went on and won

Speaker 4: a World championship with New England. Ye later in his career.

Speaker 4: I mean, you know, you think about what that was.

Speaker 4: Phil Hanson one of those guys. You know, those are

Speaker 4: hard to be a Hall of Fame worthy pass rusher

Speaker 4: when you're on the team with Bruce, you know, because

Speaker 4: he just he just soaks.

Speaker 2: Up all the little I think what hurts Eric Moles

Speaker 2: is his career numbers are not great because he was

Speaker 2: forced to play with a lot of subparts.

Speaker 4: That's correct.

Speaker 2: I mean he even reached ten thousand career receiving yards,

Speaker 2: So I think that's why it's going to be tough

Speaker 2: for him. But for my money, he's a shoe in

Speaker 2: for the Wall of Fame. He's an outstanding and it'll

Speaker 2: be interesting to see how that the organization picks that

Speaker 2: back up again, because it was pretty well known that

Speaker 2: the team had kind of put press pause on the

Speaker 2: Wall of Fame the last few years in former high

Speaker 2: Mark Stadium. You know, now, coming into the new building,

Speaker 2: I would like to think they would resuscitate that.

Speaker 4: And well, I mean begin a new so to say,

Speaker 4: it's hard and plus I get it too. There was

Speaker 4: an era in Buffalo that made it tough to justify

Speaker 4: putting a player from a team that was mediocre for

Speaker 4: seventeen years. You know, or perceived mediocre guys like Kyle Williams,

Speaker 4: you know, I mean beloved by the fans and played

Speaker 4: very well here and was a good player and all

Speaker 4: of that. You know what, he play in one playoff game.

Speaker 4: So stuff like that goes goes into that mix of

Speaker 4: being an all time gred. I think the club has

Speaker 4: to be successful while you're in that in that makes

Speaker 4: it easier. So you're looking at that players like Josh

Speaker 4: of course, I mean, Dion Now is probably going to

Speaker 4: get into that that realm now being a left tackle

Speaker 4: for a team like that. You know, Trey White coming

Speaker 4: back guy was.

Speaker 2: First team All Pro, second team All Pro.

Speaker 4: You've got to uh, you got and I think too.

Speaker 4: Longevity is an extremely important factor in that.

Speaker 2: So we'll see where that goes as we go through

Speaker 2: another cycle for another Pro Football Hall of Fame class.

Speaker 2: After the twenty twenty sixth class goes in in August,

Speaker 2: let's go around the NFL. The top pick in the draft,

Speaker 2: quarterback Fernando Mendoza, has already made a strong impression during

Speaker 2: his first month with the Las Vegas Raiders. Coach Clint

Speaker 2: Kubiak saying that his rookie quarterback has been as advertised.

Speaker 2: He has not disappointed, said Kubiak after an Ota practice

Speaker 2: this week. He's working his tail off. It's very important

Speaker 2: to him that he asks a lot of great questions

Speaker 2: when he gets on the field. He's nobs, he's all ball.

Speaker 2: The Raiders continue to ease Mendoza into the offense. During

Speaker 2: team period, which was open to reporters, Kirk Cousins was

Speaker 2: the first quarterback on the field, followed by Aidan Oak

Speaker 2: and then Mendoza as the number three.

Speaker 4: So, yeah, Mendoza, it seems like, and you read the

Speaker 4: accounts of what's going on over there, he's a he's

Speaker 4: a little bit of a football nerd. Like he likes

Speaker 4: it in a good way. Yeah, in a good way.

Speaker 4: He likes to study it, likes to learn it. He's gifted.

Speaker 4: The guy's six'.

Speaker 2: FIVE i, mean he's, tall, dude he's.

Speaker 4: Big he's got that pro body and he's got the

Speaker 4: pro skill. Set but he's an, academic which is surprisingly very.

Speaker 4: IMPORTANT i think a lot of people be surprised at

Speaker 4: how important that, is especially at. Quarterback he's an, academic

Speaker 4: and he's also he's got that personality of he wants to,

Speaker 4: know he, asks he's a question. Asking most guys, say,

Speaker 4: okay tell me WHAT i need to, know you, know and.

Speaker 2: He doesn't want to ask a. Question he wants to

Speaker 2: ask a good.

Speaker 4: Question he asks all the questions and that's a huge.

Speaker 4: Plus So i'm the guy IS i would. BE i

Speaker 4: would love to know if something's gonna derail this guy from,

Speaker 4: being you, know an old. Timer what's gonna? Be what

Speaker 4: is it possibly gonna? Be obviously like The andrew lux

Speaker 4: syndrome where you get banged up and stuff that could,

Speaker 4: happen but there just doesn't seem to be any holes

Speaker 4: in his game or his personality or the things that he. Does,

Speaker 4: Yeah i'm excited to see him. PLAY i GOT i

Speaker 4: gonna be, honest and.

Speaker 2: There's a chance we could see him play with.

Speaker 4: Six with reports like this coming, out you know you're

Speaker 4: gonna see him in the first. Month maybe first, time

Speaker 4: depends on How cousins. Looks first time they, lose And

Speaker 4: cousins doesn't look. Good flip the, switch Bro, Sleavage he's.

Speaker 2: IN i get. It week six could be long enough

Speaker 2: before we.

Speaker 4: See there's plenty long enough from him from in certain.

Speaker 4: Situations we've seen it.

Speaker 2: Before it a lot of, times, though when we've looked

Speaker 2: at we'll get to them in a, Second, Okay but

Speaker 2: a lot of, TIMES i know when we try to

Speaker 2: handicap that to guess when they'll turn to the. Rookie

Speaker 2: we did it With Jackson dart last. Year, remember we

Speaker 2: were looking for a soft spot in their. Schedule so

Speaker 2: your schedule and see where the soft spot might, be

Speaker 2: because The bills probably aren't really a soft spot in the,

Speaker 2: schedule if you want to know the.

Speaker 4: Truth, so, no that's, true And i'm AND I i

Speaker 4: had THEIR i had their schedule up yesterday and there's

Speaker 4: really no no easy place to put. It when you you,

Speaker 4: know when you start, looking as you, said.

Speaker 2: When saints week, three that's a road, game.

Speaker 4: That that that's that's really it other than week one Again.

Speaker 4: Dolphin now that seems a little, early but there you,

Speaker 4: go that's what you're looking.

Speaker 2: At otherwise it's The Jets november. First so, Yeah saints week,

Speaker 2: Three Dolphin's week. One, well some of it Are jets

Speaker 2: week some of it will depend as.

Speaker 4: Well it might be week. ONE i, mean we got

Speaker 4: a ways to, go and he's already you, know hitting

Speaker 4: bulls Eye Clint. Kubiak it might it'll depend on some

Speaker 4: things we don't know about how The kubiak and the

Speaker 4: and The raiders staff feels about what their ability to

Speaker 4: protect him and him to protect himself Can is the

Speaker 4: offensive line worth? It or can we Throw Kirk cousins

Speaker 4: out there and let him take the train in that

Speaker 4: chest rather than our number one. Pick, so but if

Speaker 4: if they feel like their offense could click and they

Speaker 4: it could work with him in, there go against The,

Speaker 4: dolphins get him a win week, one go you, KNOW i,

Speaker 4: mean it's it's gonna be a long season. Anyway they're

Speaker 4: not going to be fully formed even in week. Eighteen you,

Speaker 4: Know they've got a ways to. Go get him. STARTED

Speaker 4: i THINK i could see that. HAPPENING i don't know

Speaker 4: if it's the right thing to, do you. Know, Nevertheless

Speaker 4: i'm the, earlier the BETTER i would. Think i'm, Yeah

Speaker 4: i'm we're going to see him In week.

Speaker 2: SIX i, think, okay that'll make it a more interesting.

Speaker 2: GAME i think The saints is the.

Speaker 4: Call get him one game under his belt before he

Speaker 4: plays the Chief mahomes and The.

Speaker 2: Chiefs Cleveland brown's Coach Todd monkin praised Quarterback Shaduur sanders,

Speaker 2: development saying the second year player has come a long. Way.

Speaker 2: QUOTE i Think shaudeurs come miles in terms of his,

Speaker 2: progressions getting the ball, out his understanding of. CONCEPTS i

Speaker 2: think he really really has come a long. Way, sanders

Speaker 2: who started seven games as a rookie in twenty twenty,

Speaker 2: five continue to split first team reps in team drills

Speaker 2: With Deshaun watson in The browns quarterback competition As cleveland

Speaker 2: held its SECOND ota practice. Yesterday so that'll be an

Speaker 2: interesting one as it heads into training camp BECAUSE i

Speaker 2: don't know if it'll be.

Speaker 4: To.

Speaker 2: ME i can't see them reaching a decision by the

Speaker 2: end Of june mini. Caamp it's going to go into

Speaker 2: training camp and probably the preseason before they decide who's the.

Speaker 2: Guy so, well And watson's entering the last year of

Speaker 2: that contract that he signed up just four years ago

Speaker 2: and has been a big swing in a. Miss Owner Jimmy, haslin.

Speaker 4: What are they gonna do If washston comes in plays,

Speaker 4: passive just passable?

Speaker 2: Quarterback heart hard to. SAY i don't, KNOW i really.

Speaker 4: Don't that's that's worst case, scenario having the guy come

Speaker 4: in and play. Good that's how bad it is In.

Speaker 4: Cleveland well at think about. That the worst case scenario

Speaker 4: for them is, him have him come in and play.

Speaker 4: Well they. Can't oh my.

Speaker 2: Gosh they can't afford to do. That why. Not they

Speaker 2: gotta win games at some? Point oh my. Gosh The

Speaker 2: Tennessee titans Hired Dave, gardy formerly of The Washington, commanders

Speaker 2: to be their executive vice president Of Football. Operations guardy

Speaker 2: fills the position left behind By Chad, brinker who resigned last.

Speaker 2: Month he wanted to be more involved in the personnel

Speaker 2: side of things and was not in his role with The.

Speaker 2: Titans guardy will oversee football, administrations strategy and, analytics, research,

Speaker 2: video and team, operations among other. Departments Unlike, brinker who

Speaker 2: reported to controlling Owner Amy Adams, Strunk guardy will report

Speaker 2: directly TO Gm Mike, borganzi so an executive move there

Speaker 2: for The. Titans eagles Linebacker Nolan Smith junior Arrested, friday

Speaker 2: accused of speeding and reckless driving In. Georgia The Twigs

Speaker 2: County Sheriff's office reported, that according to notes taken by

Speaker 2: a member of The sheriff's office that, Night smith was

Speaker 2: clocked going one hundred and thirty five miles per hour

Speaker 2: in a seventy mile per hour zone on the interstate

Speaker 2: at ten forty one. Pm smith made bond was released

Speaker 2: about an hour after he Was his Book sheriff's office

Speaker 2: said a court date for the case is set For july. Fourteenth,

Speaker 2: Now Nolan smith is a former ugalum and as we,

Speaker 2: know a lot of THOSE uga players have been pulled

Speaker 2: over for. Speeding and AS i understand, it so you

Speaker 2: have The georgia campus In, athens and then there is

Speaker 2: a highway loop that goes around the town Of.

Speaker 4: Athens it's a, bypass, yeah.

Speaker 2: But it's it's a big. Loop it's a loop of

Speaker 2: about five or six. Miles they have.

Speaker 4: The same thing In. Houston they have two. Loops they

Speaker 4: have an inner loop in an Outer.

Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah so apparently the players have a competition to

Speaker 2: see who can run the loop in their car the,

Speaker 2: fastest and this is obviously led to a lot of speeding.

Speaker 2: Violations this, guy this, Guy Nolan, smith was driving in

Speaker 2: a much different area Of, georgia very rural area In

Speaker 2: Twiggs county when he got pulled. Over but the tradition.

Speaker 2: Continues it is, yeah it's not. Smart it's that time of.

Speaker 4: Year, man you kind of try you're trying to get the,

Speaker 4: guys they're, yeah they got too much free. Time one

Speaker 4: thirty five is just.

Speaker 2: Insanity bears are signing Former dolphins And colts running Back Savon.

Speaker 2: Achmed achmed suffered a series ankle injury on a hip

Speaker 2: drop tackle last year during a practice and missed the

Speaker 2: rest of the, season but healthy and ready to roll.

Speaker 2: Now veteran defensive Lineman Isaiah loudermilk signing with The Minnesota,

Speaker 2: vikings spent the past five seasons with The, steelers and

Speaker 2: The lions have signed veteran wide Receiver Cedric. Wilson so

Speaker 2: THE Nfc north busy with some late, mids you, know

Speaker 2: mid spring.

Speaker 4: Signings all four teams in that division had winning. Records

Speaker 4: detroit nine to, eight who two years, ago three years,

Speaker 4: ago had the best record of THE. Nfc, right and

Speaker 4: now they get a fourth place. Schedule detroit's gonna. Roll

Speaker 4: they come Into buffalo week two On thursday night on

Speaker 4: a short. Week, yeah, yeah they're gonna you, know they're

Speaker 4: gonna walk into a tough place to, Play i'm. Sure

Speaker 2: with who would you choose and? Why all?

Speaker 4: RIGHT i would choose good, point good. Question, hmmm only?

Speaker 4: Three Probably?

Speaker 2: Rory, okay, uh good.

Speaker 4: Question. Probably, wow there's so many any historic. Golfers, oh,

Speaker 4: Sure i'd. Go i'd Be, Jack, rory Maybe. Tiger that's. Three,

Speaker 4: YEAH i mean that's. Three that's a pretty good. List,

Speaker 4: yeah IF i could GET i Mean jack doesn't play,

Speaker 4: ANYMORE i don't think.

Speaker 2: No but yeah for guys that could, play, yeah, yeah,

Speaker 2: yeah THAT'S i, mean you run out of people pretty.

Speaker 4: QUICKLY i, PLAYED i have played golf with some. GUYS

Speaker 4: i played around the golf With Bubba. WATSON i played

Speaker 4: a golf around the golf With Jason, day played a

Speaker 4: round of golf with With Lee. Trevino oh, YEAH i

Speaker 4: played around golf with. Him Bob hayes Was i'd like.

Speaker 2: To i'd like to play with the characters of the,

Speaker 2: game you, know Like i'd rather play With Cheechi, rodriguez you,

Speaker 2: know doing the little fuzzy sword thing Like zoro after

Speaker 2: he sinks the, putt you, Know.

Speaker 4: Buzzy, zeller those. Guys, yeah, maybe, Uh John, Daly, Yeah Ian,

Speaker 4: Poulter John, daly there's some.

Speaker 2: Beauty, Yeah i'd go with the characters.

Speaker 4: That, YEAH i get it. TOO i don't THINK i would.

Speaker 2: BECAUSE i don't take it that.

Speaker 4: Seriously, YEAH i. WOULDN'T i wouldn't play with guys like

Speaker 4: probably wouldn't go With Ben. Hogan, UH i, Might Bobby,

Speaker 4: Jones Bobby jones, maybe, yeah back in the, Day Harry Varden,

Speaker 4: Old Tom, MORRIS i mean you got. It i'd love.

Speaker 4: That Sam great have a little you have a flask

Speaker 4: in the, bag, right so uh, Yeah Sam, Snead Sam

Speaker 4: sneed would be a good. One.

Speaker 2: YEAH i have yet to swing a. CLUB i just

Speaker 2: got way too much going. On, Yeah I'm i'm hoping

Speaker 2: friendlier to my. Schedule so, yeah there's a lot of

Speaker 2: guys i'd like, To BUT i have played with some

Speaker 2: pretty cool. Dudes, yes, Yeah trevino was. GREAT i enjoyed,

Speaker 2: playing getting to meet and talk With lee while we.

Speaker 2: Played Jason day was. GOOD i played With Jason South.

Speaker 4: African uh, know He's australian and his mom and dad

Speaker 4: ARE i don't want to get this, Wrong Taiwan, TAIWANESE i,

Speaker 4: think but they emigrated and he was born and raised In.

Speaker 4: Australia and Then BUBBA i played with. Him it was

Speaker 4: a weird, dude. Man. Uh bubba Was. Yeah bubba was

Speaker 4: in his own. World so he was just on the

Speaker 4: up and come AND i could not believe how far

Speaker 4: he could hit the. Ball he was having to hit.

Speaker 4: Iron this was on the on the. Way this is years.

Speaker 4: Ago he was on the Dot Com, tour The Nationwide,

Speaker 4: tour The Nike, tour whatever it was at the. Time

Speaker 4: we were playing down At peak And peak here in

Speaker 4: Western New york And bubba was down there and he

Speaker 4: was playing from the tips and they moved all of

Speaker 4: us jamokes, up you, know we WERE i was up there,

Speaker 4: playing you, know from the regular. Te's he was playing

Speaker 4: from the tips and way back and he was half

Speaker 4: in to hit like irons off par four t boxes

Speaker 4: because he was hitting it too, far he was hitting

Speaker 4: it over the, top he was airmailing the. Greens so

Speaker 4: it was like. That but you, know he sprayed it

Speaker 4: a little bit, too even with his. Irons and he's

Speaker 4: a lefty and you, know and plus you, know he

Speaker 4: was a quiet. Dude he was like you, know you,

Speaker 4: know he he didn't talk, wow and, uh he was nice,

Speaker 4: enough but he was just in his own. World SO

Speaker 4: i was, thinking and this, is of, course this is

Speaker 4: years before he, won you, know had multiple championships and

Speaker 4: The masters and the whole. Thing another, man if he

Speaker 4: ever gets his gets it straightened out AND i don't

Speaker 4: MEAN i don't mean LIKE i meant straight in his

Speaker 4: drives out and getting it, online, yeah it's over for.

Speaker 4: Everybody he's gonna he's like the course of this, course

Speaker 4: that course was. Obsolete playing for him with, him so,

Speaker 4: yeah those were it was some interesting. Guys Lee trevino

Speaker 4: taught me a couple of, things, uh just being around,

Speaker 4: him not so much about, golf but about how to

Speaker 4: handle yourself around. People it Was it's. Fun, Yeah so,

Speaker 4: yeah there's some there's some GREAT i, mean golf is

Speaker 4: built for social, gatherings so, YEAH i would play if all, timers,

Speaker 4: though it's gotta Be Tiger. Jack now you Know breery.

Speaker 2: Guys so one of the most. Majors, yeah let's.

Speaker 5: Go.

Speaker 2: Uh lauren asks in the mail, bag are there positions

Speaker 2: THAT nfl gms tend to prioritize? Less if, so which,

Speaker 2: position whether it be special teams or of the starting twenty?

Speaker 2: Two do you think a team can get by with

Speaker 2: an average at best at that? Position it's an interesting.

Speaker 2: Question there is a priority, list as we, know the

Speaker 2: premium positions are obviously left, tackle, quarterback pass, rusher, corner

Speaker 2: and wide. Receiver right then the other positions obviously are

Speaker 2: for lack of a better, term less of a, priority but.

Speaker 4: They're still but they're still. Important there's still. Tears but

Speaker 4: beyond that as, well like you, mentioned, center center's a good, one.

Speaker 2: Middle, linebacker, uh, Safety, right it kind of goes.

Speaker 4: Down in a hierarchy of. Guys, so, yes they're AND

Speaker 4: gm There and that's where you get into discrepancies about

Speaker 4: how guys build their. Rosters some of them tend to

Speaker 4: like they value the offensive line two steps ahead of

Speaker 4: where they value the defensive, line and vice. Versa some

Speaker 4: guys value the defensive line a little bit more than

Speaker 4: they do the interior the offensive line or THE x

Speaker 4: or the tackle, Positions so you get all kinds of

Speaker 4: different philosophies once you get into, that but most guys

Speaker 4: do agree on the money. Spots, corner wide, out pass,

Speaker 4: rusher left, tackle and of course. Quarterback running back has

Speaker 4: been one that has evolved down the list over the

Speaker 4: years because of the proliferation of the passing. Game so,

Speaker 4: yeah they, do they. Do gms do tend to prioritize other.

Speaker 4: Positions if you get special, teams.

Speaker 2: Well that's like your fourth or fifth line's to fill.

Speaker 2: In it's your fifth, corner the bottom of the.

Speaker 4: Roster and there's very, rarely there's very rarely an argument

Speaker 4: about who's gonna play special. Teams most what usually happens

Speaker 4: is the special teams guy comes in, says, hey you're

Speaker 4: covering kicks this. Week that's about as far as it,

Speaker 4: goes whether he's ever done it before or. Not he's

Speaker 4: gonna have a, jersey he's gonna be on the. Team

Speaker 4: he's got to. Help you got to get on the field,

Speaker 4: somehow and special teams is where they do. It so

Speaker 4: he fills in a spot.

Speaker 2: That, way and and that, would and that would and

Speaker 2: special teams would probably be the only part of the

Speaker 2: game where maybe you have one or, two maybe even

Speaker 2: three average guys just by virtue of the fact that

Speaker 2: they're the fourth or fifth linebacker on the depth chart

Speaker 2: or the fifth on the depth.

Speaker 4: Chart you also have about a half dozen guys that

Speaker 4: are good, guys their their.

Speaker 2: Core, core special, core special.

Speaker 4: Teamers and they'll pick the guy up and help him,

Speaker 4: out and, they'll you, know they'll they'll make most of the.

Speaker 4: Play it's like having A Bruce, smith a bunch Of Bruce,

Speaker 4: smiths and then you know three or, four you, Know

Speaker 4: billy bag Of donuts so. Guys so, yeah that's that's

Speaker 4: the way special teams work as.

Speaker 2: Well jim, asks are there any players on defense that

Speaker 2: you think are prime for a breakout season because of

Speaker 2: the different role that they will have being in A

Speaker 2: Jim leonard.

Speaker 4: DEFENSE i would, say first guy out of my mouth

Speaker 4: is the same Guy i've been banging the drum for

Speaker 4: for a couple of. Years It's Jimon. SOLOMON i think

Speaker 4: he's built for this.

Speaker 2: Defense, yeah his body type is better suited for.

Speaker 4: IT i think HE'S i think at this point he's

Speaker 4: getting the point where he's got to. Realize i'm not

Speaker 4: saying it's got, to BUT i would think he's going

Speaker 4: to realize this is his this is his, opportunity this

Speaker 4: is his best, chance and he's going to find some.

Speaker 4: SUCCESS i think his work ethic is, there and we'll

Speaker 4: see if the work he's put in for two years

Speaker 4: in a team on a defensive scheme where he was

Speaker 4: just trying to get by to a defensive scheme that

Speaker 4: is built for. HIM i think he's got a chance

Speaker 4: to do something, good do something really. Well so we'll, see,

Speaker 4: THOUGH i mean that's my.

Speaker 2: CALL i kind of Like Dorian williams chances to emerge

Speaker 2: BECAUSE i think he's going to be in a legit

Speaker 2: spot to land a starting role at inside linebacker next

Speaker 2: To Rel. Bernard AND i just think back to a

Speaker 2: couple of years ago where he only made eleven starts

Speaker 2: because A milano's injury took a couple of years, ago

Speaker 2: only made eleven starts and was still the leading tackler

Speaker 2: at the end of the. Season that was two years,

Speaker 2: ago SO i think he's kind of learned his, lessons

Speaker 2: is a true veteran player now And i'm in interested

Speaker 2: to see if he can win the starting job number,

Speaker 2: one how the defensive coaches choose to deploy him number,

Speaker 2: two and then finally how productive he. Is does it

Speaker 2: qualify as a breakout season for? Him we'll have to

Speaker 2: wait and.

Speaker 4: See, WELL i think if he ends up on the

Speaker 4: field as you're number one as a, starter, yeah that's

Speaker 4: a breakout season for.

Speaker 2: Him, well you still got to go out there and

Speaker 2: produce as a. Starter but, yes, yes that would put

Speaker 2: him well on his way to having a breakout. SEASON

Speaker 2: i don't think there's any question about. That david asks

Speaker 2: from the mail. Bag given all the rain we have,

Speaker 2: had has the stadium crew been able to test the

Speaker 2: new turf drainage? System if, so what were the. RESULTS

Speaker 2: i am confident they have tested the drainage. System it's

Speaker 2: a state of the art. System good.

Speaker 4: QUESTION i don't know the answer to, it but if

Speaker 4: it needed to be, done they have tested it to do.

Speaker 4: SO i haven't. Heard that's a good. QUESTION i hadn't

Speaker 4: really thought about. It but the WAY i understand, it

Speaker 4: we were in there just two weeks. Ago, yeah and

Speaker 4: it looks. FLAWLESS i mean it looks. Flawless, yeah and

Speaker 4: it looks it looks so good it looks. Fake that's

Speaker 4: how good that grass. Look it's unbelievably.

Speaker 2: GOOD i will, say with the advances in drainage technology

Speaker 2: for natural playing surfaces, grass some of these systems can

Speaker 2: pull water right out of the. Soil they're not relying

Speaker 2: strictly on gravity for the water to get pulled through

Speaker 2: the soil of the grass. Field they actually have a

Speaker 2: system that draws the water through the soil faster to

Speaker 2: dry it out, quicker so as not to compromise the

Speaker 2: footing of players on a rain on a rain soaked.

Speaker 2: Field so it's everything in there is state of the

Speaker 2: art right. Drainage you can imagine what. Happens it's, like,

Speaker 2: great we're gonna it's gonna be. Snowing they're gonna get

Speaker 2: the snow off Of i'm melting. It, well if you

Speaker 2: melt snow on natural, grass all of a sudden it

Speaker 2: turns into a mud, puddle, Right, well you. Can't that's

Speaker 2: even worse than playing in. Snow so they've designed it

Speaker 2: to suck the water out of, it not just melt the,

Speaker 2: snow but also suck the water out of it after it,

Speaker 2: melts so it stays awesome and, yeah, Look, BROWNIE i

Speaker 2: hope it. WORKS i don't.

Speaker 4: Know it's gotta, work, RIGHT i think it's gonna. Work but, man,

Speaker 4: man it's gotta. Work come.

Speaker 2: ON i think it will come. On there are too

Speaker 2: many prior constructions of a system like this over In,

Speaker 2: europe in all those soccer. Stadiums, well if you're they

Speaker 2: have a similar, system if it's working.

Speaker 4: In london And ireland and all those northern and The british,

Speaker 4: isles it's gonna work.

Speaker 2: Here, Yeah because they only play on grass and their

Speaker 2: season Goes august To. May they play straight through the,

Speaker 2: winter so you need that system to hold up to you,

Speaker 2: know the worst of what your other nature is dishing

Speaker 2: out in the winter. Time SO i think that would

Speaker 2: work very.

Speaker 4: Well shannon And peyton are giving us the nod and

Speaker 4: they agree with.

Speaker 2: Us, well they're not agreeing with, us they're agreeing with

Speaker 2: state of the art technology that's expected.

Speaker 4: To perform and a work claiming as our.

Speaker 2: Own think there's every reason to believe that it. Will

Speaker 2: it's got To. Bradie i'd Love i'd love to know

Speaker 2: what the maximum is. Like if it's raining a half

Speaker 2: inch an, hour can it handle pulling that. THROUGH i

Speaker 2: think the answer is going to be, Asked, yeah.

Speaker 4: Sure here's. YES i mean that's, yes you're a doing ye,

Speaker 4: Fine sucking the water out of it is great and you,

Speaker 4: know making it, stay but it's still going to get

Speaker 4: slippery when it's. Wet, well, yes it's the, way that's

Speaker 4: that's the nature of. It so if you're if you're

Speaker 4: playing in the hard, rain you're going to have to

Speaker 4: adjust to what the conditions. Are but certainly the field

Speaker 4: will be in better, shape and not just not just

Speaker 4: to be in better shape to play, on but also

Speaker 4: better shape the next week when you've got to repair

Speaker 4: it and have it come back and you got to

Speaker 4: play on it again next week In. November, Right that's

Speaker 4: that's as important as. Anything you've got to have it

Speaker 4: good for four, months not just for one.

Speaker 2: End while these fields In europe have proven to hold

Speaker 2: up well for soccer, games football GAMES i think are

Speaker 2: far more ravaging and taxing on a grass, field just

Speaker 2: by virtue of the fact that you've got three hundred

Speaker 2: pound men running, around digging in and trying to stop

Speaker 2: other three hundred pound men from getting around them or

Speaker 2: throw them or over them or under. Them so there's

Speaker 2: just a lot more torque there's An american football field

Speaker 2: due to the size of the human beings running.

Speaker 4: Around soccer players don't use the ground to push anybody but, themselves,

Speaker 4: RIGHT i mean you're not trying, to you.

Speaker 2: Know, YEAH i mean unless you're leaning on somebody competing.

Speaker 4: Football but, yes yeah and, so and not very many

Speaker 4: soccer players weigh three, Bills.

Speaker 2: So you, KNOW i would adventure to guess no soccer

Speaker 2: player weighs three hundred. Pounds you condition yourself properly at

Speaker 2: three hundred pounds to play in endurance sport like, soccer

Speaker 2: you'll never make.

Speaker 4: It high school gym. Class you might get a three

Speaker 4: hundred pound or sprinkled in there playing.

Speaker 2: Soccer they're not playing on a one to twenty by

Speaker 2: eighty field, though aps for ninety. Minutes that's not. Happening

Speaker 2: we got to take a break. Here when we come,

Speaker 2: back we'll have more of your questions from THE Obl

Speaker 2: friday fan mail bag later on the, show our number.

Speaker 2: Two we will also Have Cameron wolf joining us FROM Nfl.

Speaker 2: Network check in with him as well for some doings

Speaker 2: around the. League all, right back here On One Bill's,

Speaker 2: Live Chris, Brown Steve tasker here On thursday live at

Speaker 2: The Bill's store On Avid road works At Park Open

Speaker 2: mic is here in case you have any questions that

Speaker 2: you mail bag otherwise you can do it add One

Speaker 2: Bill's live On twitter and we'll get to some of

Speaker 2: those other questions in just a. Second we will remiss

Speaker 2: in overlooking a wish we needed to pass along, today

Speaker 2: a birthday wish for One Josh, allen who turns thirty

Speaker 2: years old. Today happy, Birthday. Josh it was interesting to

Speaker 2: hear him a little bit earlier in the spring talk

Speaker 2: about his career and his career longevity in this. League he,

Speaker 2: said in his, opinion thirty thirty, one maybe even thirty

Speaker 2: two is the peak for a professional athlete as he saw.

Speaker 2: It so he feels he's got a little bit more

Speaker 2: peak to reach now that he has turned. Thirty so

Speaker 2: we'll see if he's right on. That it's exciting to

Speaker 2: think that there might be more from him because every

Speaker 2: year he picks something to improve upon and inevitably it looks.

Speaker 4: Better, yes He's, yeah he's a different. Dude we talked,

Speaker 4: about you, know the how how good he has, been

Speaker 4: and we were talking about The hall Of. FAME i, Mean.

Speaker 4: Josh If josh retired, today he's probably getting in The

Speaker 4: hall Of. Fame nobody has scored touchdowns at a higher

Speaker 4: rate than he. Has up till the thirtieth. Birthday he

Speaker 4: has been AN mvp of the. League he's been an

Speaker 4: elite quarterback for all but what saved one of his

Speaker 4: career the probably his rookie season when he got the

Speaker 4: team to the. Playoffs he's. That he's that. DUDE i,

Speaker 4: mean everybody knows. It and the longer he, plays he's

Speaker 4: just gonna, stack you, know award and and statistic on

Speaker 4: top of award and. Statistic, yeah and it's just the

Speaker 4: way that's that's where his career is going to.

Speaker 2: Be we were just looking at some numbers the other

Speaker 2: day After Aaron rodgers signed with The steelers on another

Speaker 2: one year deal for twenty five million, dollars and somebody

Speaker 2: put the number. Up Aaron, rodgers now entering his twenty second,

Speaker 2: season has more forty touchdown seasons than any other quarterback

Speaker 2: ever with. Six the one who is in second Is

Speaker 2: Josh allen with five such. Seasons and he's done that

Speaker 2: in nine. Years he's done it in less than half the.

Speaker 2: Time and he's won Behind, rogers and.

Speaker 4: He had thirty nine touchdowns last, year not for he

Speaker 4: just missed. It he just missed it last. Year so

Speaker 4: in a year where they were, CRUISING i, mean the

Speaker 4: offensively were. Unbelievable so, Yeah, josh he's an old. Timer

Speaker 4: everybody knows, it and he acts like.

Speaker 5: It.

Speaker 2: Yeah so happy birthday To. Josh his first birthday as

Speaker 2: a dad as. Well and oh there you go and a, husband,

Speaker 2: YES i think, yeah because they got married at the

Speaker 2: end Of may last year after his twenty NINTH i

Speaker 2: think this is his first birthday as a husband and a,

Speaker 2: Dad so knocking two things off the list there to

Speaker 2: improve his own personal. Status so well.

Speaker 4: Done, yeah that's good for. Him happy For. Josh.

Speaker 2: Yeah we also have OTAs going, on as we, said

Speaker 2: and we'll get another peek at them next week in

Speaker 2: the second week of. OTAs but some of the early

Speaker 2: returns have been, encouraging especially concerning the passing. Game you,

Speaker 2: know we've seen reports Of josh AND Dj moore connecting

Speaker 2: early and. Often that was encouraging to. See and there

Speaker 2: was an interesting photo from The bill's social team from.

Speaker 2: Practice Skuyler bell was literally being tossed in the air

Speaker 2: by his. Teammates did you see that?

Speaker 4: PHOTO i did.

Speaker 2: Not he was basically crowdsurfing on his. Teammates i'm guessing

Speaker 2: he had a big, touchdown you, know at the end

Speaker 2: of you, know a seven on seven or eleven on

Speaker 2: eleven drill and presumably he, scored you, know the winning

Speaker 2: touchdown on a two minute drill and they all went

Speaker 2: down to celebrate with. Him and that's part of What

Speaker 2: Joe brady said in his press conference this week that

Speaker 2: he's looking at now as the head. Coach he has

Speaker 2: focused less on scheme because his coordinators are doing, that

Speaker 2: and he's focusing more on how they go about doing.

Speaker 2: Things and one of the things he mentioned was how

Speaker 2: do we celebrate with our teammates and seeing essentially the

Speaker 2: balance of the offensive roster throwing throwing skylard bell up

Speaker 2: in the air like a tea. Cup let's. GO i

Speaker 2: guess that would fit the.

Speaker 4: Bill that's what happens when you're a little.

Speaker 2: Guy got to take a break. Here when we come,

Speaker 2: back national reporter FOR Nfl Network Cameron wolf will join.

Speaker 2: Us we'll take a whip around the league with him

Speaker 2: to get the latest on what's going on here through

Speaker 2: the course of the off. Season he joins us next

Speaker 2: here On One Bill's.

Speaker 1: Live Look, up, boys we're not there. Tonight he is

Speaker 1: a feast for The capitol.

Speaker 2: Fime the cup is in the.

Speaker 4: Kitchen looks down the.

Speaker 3: Sideline he's got kickade for a twenty three yard touchdown

Speaker 3: and it's.

Speaker 2: Intercepted jumping up in the air is bad for.

Speaker 1: These These One Bill's, Live.

Speaker 2: All, Right hour number two is here on A, thursday

Speaker 2: kind of switch things up a little. Bit we were

Speaker 2: gonna HAVE Nfl Network national Reporter Camera wolf on in

Speaker 2: this time, slot but we were in. Five the practice

Speaker 2: has wrapped up over on the grass practice field FOR

Speaker 2: ota practice number three. Today so knowing that they are

Speaker 2: finishing up and That Dion walker AND. Tj sanders should

Speaker 2: be ready in short, order we've Pushed Cameron wolf down

Speaker 2: to the two thirty. Segment we'll catch up with him

Speaker 2: at that point in, time and for now we will

Speaker 2: wait patiently for two of the biggest men on the

Speaker 2: roster to join us via, zoom presumably from the field.

Speaker 4: House Some Jay sanders has got to be chomping at

Speaker 4: the bit to get on the field after.

Speaker 2: This tough year last. YEAR i mean he got on

Speaker 2: the field for some, games but probably not nearly as

Speaker 2: many as he wanted. To And Dion walker went wire to,

Speaker 2: Wire AND i think you can make the argument was

Speaker 2: probably the most valuable rookie on the roster last. Year

Speaker 2: Jackson hawes maybe a close, Second.

Speaker 4: NO i Think. Walker. YEAH i think he was the

Speaker 4: rise of of the of the, draft not the, surprise

Speaker 4: but certainly he was what he's calling rookie of the

Speaker 4: year on the. TEAM i would that's WHAT i would.

Speaker 2: Say he, Provided, yeah the most valuable. Competition so AND

Speaker 2: i Think dion is joining us right now via. Zoom he's.

Speaker 4: Early T.

Speaker 2: J sanders is, late but we don't impose fines on this.

Speaker 2: Show but we'll Welcome dion in. Now and uh see

Speaker 2: where he's. Positioned are you in the field? House? Dion?

Speaker 5: YES i am.

Speaker 2: There you.

Speaker 4: Go, Man how we're?

Speaker 5: Doing we're doing?

Speaker 2: Great how how hard is it for you to believe

Speaker 2: that it is already year two coming up?

Speaker 5: Here and it felt like a, flash like it felt

Speaker 5: like a fever. Dream you, know you, know when you in,

Speaker 5: it it seems so but were you in? It it

Speaker 5: seems so?

Speaker 6: Far like so like oh we in training, camp like

Speaker 6: we in OTAs right, now the season seems so far,

Speaker 6: away but like when you're really looking back at, it

Speaker 6: it goes like, that like you, know snap of the,

Speaker 6: finger you're gonna miss.

Speaker 5: It you, know.

Speaker 4: What are your thoughts about how your first year? WIN i,

Speaker 4: mean certainly you you played a, ton you were probably

Speaker 4: and we were just talking about. It you might have

Speaker 4: been the rookie of the year on the, club, RIGHT i,

Speaker 4: mean you got a lot of, reps you got a

Speaker 4: lot of playing, Time you've made a lot of. Plays

Speaker 4: give us your your thoughts about how it went for

Speaker 4: you and now looking, forward what's it going to be

Speaker 4: like in your Two.

Speaker 5: You, KNOW i am happy with the WAY i.

Speaker 6: Play you, KNOW i put a lot of my success

Speaker 6: onto our, vets onto the coaching staff and everything that

Speaker 6: they did for me to getting ready for you, know

Speaker 6: weekend week got out helped me prepare for this, game you,

Speaker 6: know and what we really looking for for me is

Speaker 6: just take the next? Step you, know how CAN i get?

Speaker 6: Better how CAN i you, know be a three down?

Speaker 6: Player how CAN i just be out on the field.

Speaker 6: More how CAN i be there and still be at

Speaker 6: my top maximum percentage of?

Speaker 5: Output you? Know SO i feel, like that's the biggest

Speaker 5: thing for us or for, Me.

Speaker 2: And you mentioned leaning on those, vets and now probably

Speaker 2: with the exception of, edl you, know Maybe Greg russo

Speaker 2: And Bradley, chubb who's a new guy on the, scene

Speaker 2: they're leaning on you, Guys, like how does it feel

Speaker 2: to know that with a new defensive staff coming in

Speaker 2: and a new scheme that they're they're seemingly, Comfortable dion

Speaker 2: with second year guys like yourself And landon AND tj

Speaker 2: to play Alongside ed and play some pretty prominent roles up.

Speaker 2: Front they're they're basically giving you guys the keys to

Speaker 2: the front stoop of this.

Speaker 6: Defense, yes, SIR i feel like it really shows us

Speaker 6: the amount of trust that the coach's Coach, brady Coach Leonard,

Speaker 6: kosemison but that everybody has on, us on ours younger.

Speaker 5: Guys you, know we still look at it AT.

Speaker 6: I still look at it a, bunch you, know WHEN

Speaker 6: i don't know what's going, on WHEN i need help

Speaker 6: with to, play help with how to play a different

Speaker 6: type of, TECHNIQUE i still look At, grig still look

Speaker 6: AT i even look at you up right. Now you,

Speaker 6: Know i'm just USING i feel Like, me my, Class, Me, LANDING, Tj, tommy.

Speaker 6: Everybody we just we trying to absorb, information trying to you,

Speaker 6: know get the trying to figure out how to get

Speaker 6: the step while we're out, there you, know.

Speaker 4: Give us an. Idea what what advice can you give

Speaker 4: the young? Guys they drafted another six defensive rookies this

Speaker 4: year in this last. Draft you saw it last year

Speaker 4: with your group five or, seven and you got a

Speaker 4: lot of young guys out. There what's something you can

Speaker 4: tell these guys that are coming in in their first

Speaker 4: year now as you start your second.

Speaker 5: Year number one is being your.

Speaker 6: Playbook the number one thing you were searching for is

Speaker 6: getting the trust out of the, vets getting the trust

Speaker 6: out of the, coaches you, know letting the coaches see

Speaker 6: that you're ready to be on the.

Speaker 5: Field and then, second have fun like it's it's a.

Speaker 6: Business you, know THE nfl gets tossed up like it's

Speaker 6: it is a cut thought. Business you, know if you're

Speaker 6: not doing if you're not doing your, job you out of.

Speaker 6: Here so but it's a child's game like it. Is you,

Speaker 6: know you're just you're coming out. Here i've been lacing

Speaker 6: compleat SINCE i was six years, Old so have that

Speaker 6: six year old kid mentality when you're out, here you,

Speaker 6: know just enjoy, it be, present be on the field

Speaker 6: with your fair as a.

Speaker 2: Teammates and even though you've gained a world of experience last, Year,

Speaker 2: dion the fact remains that a lot is. Different. Now

Speaker 2: we already mentioned the new. Coordinator there's a new scheme

Speaker 2: to kind of master here. Too my question to you

Speaker 2: is how much has your role and responsibilities, changed whether

Speaker 2: it's playing, angles reading keys, differently and what level of

Speaker 2: experience do you guys? Have you, know BECAUSE i KNOW

Speaker 2: tj played in a three three five system At South,

Speaker 2: carolina so he's got some experience with a three man.

Speaker 2: Front what about, You?

Speaker 5: DION i got a love.

Speaker 6: Bit we did play a poor down with a three

Speaker 6: down base front At, kentucky SO i am used to.

Speaker 6: It having the two are rushing the sam off the,

Speaker 6: boss SO i am used to it a little. Bit

Speaker 6: but you, know we're still taking the day by day.

Speaker 6: Game you get used to this. Defense you, know every

Speaker 6: defense is still different at the end of the.

Speaker 2: Day, yeah AND tj welcome, in uh getting a few

Speaker 2: extra reps out there on the, practice, yes, er, yes all?

Speaker 2: Right love. It what what has been because we're asking

Speaker 2: d on, this what have been your thoughts on trying

Speaker 2: to get a handle on What Jim leonard is asking of?

Speaker 2: You knowing you, know it's a different guy calling the

Speaker 2: shots now and he's gonna have different Pref prince is

Speaker 2: for what he wants out of his. Players so what

Speaker 2: has been the messages received from him by?

Speaker 7: YOU i, Mean i'll say probably the first thing is

Speaker 7: just understanding the why of everything that we're. Doing you,

Speaker 7: know why why certain movements are called this other than

Speaker 7: that when they're like almost the, same and just understanding

Speaker 7: what techniques is going to put us word to. Succeed

Speaker 7: so once you have, THAT i feel like it allows

Speaker 7: us to know play, faster able to communicate you, know

Speaker 7: a guy has a question or anything like, that or

Speaker 7: even if you have a, question you know the guy

Speaker 7: next to you or you can answer.

Speaker 5: That Parm what are your?

Speaker 4: GOALS i, mean what do you want to do this?

Speaker 4: YEAR i know certainly you want to get on the,

Speaker 4: field stay on the, field be available every, week get

Speaker 4: on the, roster make. Plays what at this time of,

Speaker 4: year as you get ready to embark on another training,

Speaker 4: camp what is your main, focus.

Speaker 7: Honestly is to come in you, know for, ONE i

Speaker 7: want to play every game of the season this, year you,

Speaker 7: know be as healthy as, possible and you, know with

Speaker 7: that strengthen in my, body you, know and not myself

Speaker 7: to be out there and not only just being out

Speaker 7: there with the, guys but also making, plays you, know

Speaker 7: for the whole four quarter of the, game you, know

Speaker 7: not just you, know showing flashes of THINGS i can,

Speaker 7: do but you, know being a complete, player you, know

Speaker 7: being able to play every down and just doing WHAT

Speaker 7: i can and help us get to.

Speaker 2: Win, dion what would you, say is you know the

Speaker 2: message FROM d line coach Coach, Jamison Because i'm just

Speaker 2: curious because you, know you guys both have versatile skill

Speaker 2: sets And i'm wondering if there is a focus on

Speaker 2: some position flex with each of you, Guys like you're

Speaker 2: not gonna maybe just line up in one spot every

Speaker 2: time down and down. Out So i'm wondering how flexible

Speaker 2: they they need you guys to be position wise across

Speaker 2: that defensive.

Speaker 6: Front one, thing the first thing they came in and

Speaker 6: said to, everybody to the WHOLE d lines, group nobody

Speaker 6: has a set. Position we can all play EVERYWHERE i

Speaker 6: can play three four our, NOSE tj can land and

Speaker 6: can everybody in our d line room is like not

Speaker 6: set to one, Position Oh, Landon you're not straight for OUR.

Speaker 5: Tj he's not a straight three Tech. Like we can.

Speaker 6: Match it up so many different ways to where nobody's

Speaker 6: getting the same, set nobody's getting the same, rep nobody's

Speaker 6: going to no offensive lineman is going against the same

Speaker 6: body every past, play you. Know SO i feel like

Speaker 6: that does help us a. Lot and you KNOW i

Speaker 6: get to eat a little bit too that three.

Speaker 5: Tech.

Speaker 4: Right what About what's what's different so far about the

Speaker 4: vibe With Joe brady as head. COACH i just.

Speaker 7: Feel like in this, defense you, KNOW i feel like

Speaker 7: it's a lot more where guys can you, know truly

Speaker 7: show what they're really capable, of you, know not necessarily

Speaker 7: having a you, know come in and do things that

Speaker 7: they might not be comfortable. With that's WHY i feel

Speaker 7: like the, uh you, know the guys we have on the,

Speaker 7: ball the fire, down the three, Down he's gonna allow

Speaker 7: everyone to really shock what they could really.

Speaker 2: Do and THEN i got a question for you, guys

Speaker 2: BECAUSE i don't know about, you BUT i Mean we've

Speaker 2: seen body composition transformations from sex. Before but What Landon

Speaker 2: jackson had to undertake last offseason playing at like two

Speaker 2: sixty five. SOMEBODY i don't know if he bought a

Speaker 2: new set of shoulders or what happened, there but like

Speaker 2: he's like two hundred and eighty five pounds, Now, like

Speaker 2: what can you say about his dedication to you, know

Speaker 2: changing his body composition to take on a new role

Speaker 2: in this new defensive. Front how's he?

Speaker 5: Done i'll tell you this one.

Speaker 7: Man landon literally lived in the weight room every day this.

Speaker 5: Offseason like it wasn't a.

Speaker 7: DAY i Called landon and he told me he wasn't working,

Speaker 7: Out And i'm talking about this was the morning or the,

Speaker 7: Afternoon LIKE i don't know if he were doing two a,

Speaker 7: days three, days but ANYTIME i called, him.

Speaker 5: Like, Yo, landon like you, know how how you doing? Today?

Speaker 7: BROTHER i just topped it. Up you're, like, now, man

Speaker 7: just say, here get another workout. In i'm, like, MAN

Speaker 7: i worked out three hours, ago so you're still getting to.

Speaker 7: Them i'm, like man, like so just hearing that every

Speaker 7: day and then WHEN i saw him WHEN i got,

Speaker 7: back you, KNOW i was like Whoa like we guys

Speaker 7: really put in that, work you, know come out, here you,

Speaker 7: know be the PLAYER i know he can.

Speaker 2: Be and then with respect to, that there's a little

Speaker 2: bit of AN sec family thing, here, guys you, KNOW i,

Speaker 2: mean you guys are ALL sec, products all three of.

Speaker 2: You you, know you two fellas In landing is there

Speaker 2: is there a little bit of a kinship? There do

Speaker 2: you guys roll together a little bit in and amongst

Speaker 2: the locker? Room do you kind of defend one another

Speaker 2: when the college football conversation start in the locker? Room

Speaker 2: who's the guy up front and the, center the seclerst.

Speaker 6: Right he's always, byself he's at home chilling life out the, way.

Speaker 5: You, know me and land And tommy we might go do.

Speaker 5: Something BUT i, say the real.

Speaker 6: The real d lineman that really like sticks up for

Speaker 6: us school and LIKE sec boy Is.

Speaker 5: Faderian mathis you know he's, Okay, Yeah i'm a, boy.

Speaker 2: Makes? Sense and you Got zion, too is From, Georgia so.

Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah don't. Worry what's next? Time So i'm

Speaker 5: hearing it all?

Speaker 4: Day, yeah there you. Go what give us an idea

Speaker 4: of you, know what's next for you? GUYS i, mean

Speaker 4: what how much of you know. THIS i know you've

Speaker 4: got a lot of, Meetings you're trying to learn all

Speaker 4: this stuff on the, Fly you're getting some reps on the.

Speaker 4: Field what's the time frame for you guys are like

Speaker 4: now getting in these these next couple of weeks of

Speaker 4: work on the. Field then if you leave and come

Speaker 4: back for training, CAMP i, mean what's your schedule where

Speaker 4: you're gonna be in, town you're gonna be out of

Speaker 4: town and be traveling. Around what did the coaching staff

Speaker 4: tell you about what to?

Speaker 7: Expect kind of just you, know whenever we get out of,

Speaker 7: here you, know whether it's here or away from the,

Speaker 7: building just know that we got to put that work.

Speaker 7: In you, know we're going into a little a little,

Speaker 7: break but you know it's not really gonna be a.

Speaker 7: Break they might be able to take a couple of

Speaker 7: days off whenever we end things, here but you know it's.

Speaker 5: Still gonna be time to put our foot on the.

Speaker 5: Pedal and we know what they.

Speaker 2: Expect and then the guys the new, stadium you're watching

Speaker 2: it go up in bits and pieces every single day

Speaker 2: when you drive into, work where would you put the

Speaker 2: level of anticipation and excitement to get on that grass

Speaker 2: field in there, now knowing when the first home game

Speaker 2: is going to be and the fact that it's a

Speaker 2: national game On thursday night.

Speaker 5: Football, no, MAN i can't.

Speaker 6: Wait i've been trying, to you, know sneak myself in

Speaker 6: there or not and then go see HOW i. Looking

Speaker 6: but you, KNOW i can't. WAIT i really am, excited you,

Speaker 6: KNOW i feel like this is a big step For,

Speaker 6: buffalo the community, everything you, know just you got more, seats.

Speaker 5: You, know get more people. There you, know just Field.

Speaker 2: Buffalo you'd be a hard guy to sneak ins idea

Speaker 2: on your hard. GUY i don't know if we're gonna

Speaker 2: be able. TO i don't know if we're gonna be

Speaker 2: able to pull that one, off but we'll see what

Speaker 2: we can. Do maybe hyde in a, truck in the

Speaker 2: back of a truck or something and see if we

Speaker 2: can get you in. There, guys thanks for giving us

Speaker 2: some time after. Practice go hit the showers and, uh

Speaker 2: we'll catch you on down the. Line here shakes for the.

Speaker 5: Time oh, YEAH i. Appreciate all.

Speaker 2: Right That's Dion walker AND. Tj sanders joining. Us and,

Speaker 2: really when you think about, It steve the keys to

Speaker 2: the defensive front are being handed to second year guys

Speaker 2: Like dion Tj Landon. JACKSON i, Mean ed's, There Wayne,

Speaker 2: carter third year, guy you, know and you even Got

Speaker 2: Fiderian Mathis Zion low who, played you, know some games

Speaker 2: for this team last year up and down off the practice.

Speaker 4: Squad it's young, guys, yeah that you can tell. Though

Speaker 4: those guys pretty. Articulate and you can tell by the

Speaker 4: way they spoke About leonard And Jim lennard what he's talking,

Speaker 4: about that they're they're hearing it from this coaching. Staff

Speaker 4: they're getting what it's gonna. Be it's interesting to see

Speaker 4: how they're gonna respond to, it BECAUSE i agree with,

Speaker 4: them there's a lot more ways for them to be

Speaker 4: individually great in a three four than there is a

Speaker 4: four to. Three they just get so many more single,

Speaker 4: singles you, know single.

Speaker 2: Blockings, yeah let's find out, front, right.

Speaker 4: It's just GONNA i think they're really looking forward to

Speaker 4: taking advantage of it if they.

Speaker 2: Can we have to take a break. Here when we come,

Speaker 2: back we might dip into the, mailbag and we've got

Speaker 2: to still catch up WITH Nfl network national Reporter Cameron

Speaker 2: wolf will do all that when we return here On

Speaker 2: One Bill's. Live all, right back here on One Bill's,

Speaker 2: Live Chris, Brown Steve tasker with. YOU a good conversation

Speaker 2: there With Dion.

Speaker 4: Walker and T. J.

Speaker 2: Sanders it seems like they've got their heads on straight

Speaker 2: with this new, defense because you, know they had they

Speaker 2: get a year in the. League they feel like they

Speaker 2: got their feet. Wet they feel they kind of have their,

Speaker 2: bearings know what to, expect and then, bang the whole

Speaker 2: defensive system changes and you're back to square.

Speaker 4: One if you go back and watch the if you

Speaker 4: get a, chance go back and watch the. Video you,

Speaker 4: know we've all been on zoom calls where something's going

Speaker 4: on in the. Background these guys are always somebody's always

Speaker 4: trying to get their. Attention the guys are never gonna

Speaker 4: let them know them and somebody's messing.

Speaker 2: Running faces on the other side of the, computer.

Speaker 4: Hollering at them the whole. Thing, so, yeah you know those,

Speaker 4: guys you can you can feel the energy coming off of.

Speaker 4: THEM i, mean they're. Exciting it's an exciting time of

Speaker 4: year or, two and it's always made more fun by

Speaker 4: the fact that at this time of, year most of

Speaker 4: the guys feel great and they feel, great and they

Speaker 4: act like. It they can't wait to get to training,

Speaker 4: camp get things kicked off and the, heat Like dean

Speaker 4: told us at the, time because the season seems like

Speaker 4: it's a million miles away here At, OTAs but can't

Speaker 4: wait to start.

Speaker 2: Champlaining we want to pivot, now, though to more of

Speaker 2: an overview of the league and where it stands late

Speaker 2: in the. Offseason and to help us do that is

Speaker 2: our good friend from THE Nfl network national Reporter Camera,

Speaker 2: wolf kind of enough to join us here on A,

Speaker 2: Thursday and, first thanks for the, Time, cameron AND i

Speaker 2: guess we should begin, with you, know some of what

Speaker 2: has come down from the owner meeting this. Week nothing

Speaker 2: that was surprised by any, means but the international slate

Speaker 2: gonna get increased to from eight games to ten and

Speaker 2: less control FOR nfl teams to protect some of their home.

Speaker 2: Games it sounds like the league's, like, yeah we're picking

Speaker 2: whatever we want and we're sending it. Overseas how much

Speaker 2: is this a sign of things to, come because you,

Speaker 2: know we're hearing down the. Pike we could be looking

Speaker 2: at sixteen international games with basically each team playing one

Speaker 2: game overseas and the not too distant.

Speaker 8: Future, well first of, all good afternoon.

Speaker 9: Fellas good to talk with you. GUYS i think that

Speaker 9: the league is going.

Speaker 10: Global it's definitely a big emphasis For Commissioner Roger goodell

Speaker 10: to make as much of an impact on the international

Speaker 10: stage as.

Speaker 8: Possible so, YEAH i think the next step you'll see next.

Speaker 9: Year is that eleven games is, ten but eleven because

Speaker 9: The jaguars typically do two In, london AND i think

Speaker 9: you'll see that jump a couple every year to get to.

Speaker 9: Sixteen AND i think eventually the goal is to have

Speaker 9: A Super bowl overseas and eventually to have multiple teams,

Speaker 9: overseas AND i think this is the continued building up of.

Speaker 9: THAT i think they got to get a lot of

Speaker 9: data from teams to see how they react coming, overseas

Speaker 9: AND i think that's the hope for having one for each.

Speaker 8: Team but, YEAH i think the time for, hey.

Speaker 9: Who's volunteering to go overseas is probably, waning and it's

Speaker 9: gonna be gonna be where you're, going not if you're going.

Speaker 4: Give it as to you, know there's got of that

Speaker 4: seems like having, teams like having a team In, london

Speaker 4: having a team In, berlin having a team In paris

Speaker 4: having a team In. Madrid if those are indeed the,

Speaker 4: cities that seems like a long way, AWAY i mean

Speaker 4: a very long way.

Speaker 8: Away, YEAH i think we still got some. Time What,

Speaker 8: YEAH i think we still got some.

Speaker 4: Time, yeah what give us the? Steps give us the?

Speaker 4: STEPS i, mean how how long will it? BE i, mean,

Speaker 4: Realistically i'm, seriously is this in our? Lifetime, well my

Speaker 4: lifetime is shorter than Than brownies, is but, yeah you

Speaker 4: know we're looking at you, know we're looking at literally,

Speaker 4: decade a decade or at least two to get to that, point.

Speaker 8: Correct, yeah SO i think it will be in our.

Speaker 9: Lifetime, now will it be by the time my five

Speaker 9: year old daughter gets to?

Speaker 8: COLLEGE i don't.

Speaker 9: KNOW i think that would probably be the marker THAT i,

Speaker 9: say is it's happened in the next twelve to fifteen

Speaker 9: years is probably a toss up to. Me BUT i

Speaker 9: do think you see it happen sooner than. Later as

Speaker 9: far as the longevity of, THINGS i think what you

Speaker 9: brought up is interesting is how much do teams essentially

Speaker 9: give up the fight and try to bargain with the.

Speaker 9: LEAGUE i know in this schedule release there's a lot

Speaker 9: of teams that give perspectives Of, okay If i've got

Speaker 9: an international, game CAN i not lose this one against

Speaker 9: the division rival or a team we haven't seen in sixteen,

Speaker 9: Years and maybe we lose a game against no offense

Speaker 9: The Arizona, cardinals and you feel a little bit more

Speaker 9: comfortable with. That SO i think in more recent years

Speaker 9: you'll see teams just work with the league with the.

Speaker 8: Reality BUT i.

Speaker 9: Think the big thing is can you station a team

Speaker 9: there full time and not feel like you're at a

Speaker 9: disadvantage as far as free, agency as far as players

Speaker 9: wanting to, go their coaches wanting to go, there and

Speaker 9: the tenuousness on your body with. Travel so that's WHY

Speaker 9: i think we're over a decade away from. Teams but

Speaker 9: the additional games gives them more, data AND i think

Speaker 9: the data can lead them to having multiple teams.

Speaker 2: Overseas we Saw Aaron rodgers signed back with The steelers

Speaker 2: this week and he also said this is. It this

Speaker 2: is the, last you, know trip around the league for

Speaker 2: him season twenty. Two you, know at twenty five million,

Speaker 2: Dollars how does his presence within THE Afc north impact that?

Speaker 2: Division knowing three of the four teams have new head. Coaches,

Speaker 2: YEAH i.

Speaker 9: Think it gives them a floor, razer so to. Speak

Speaker 9: The steelers because of that stability factor that you, mentioned

Speaker 9: a lot of change in THE Afc north at the coach.

Speaker 8: Spot keep, playmakers But rogers.

Speaker 9: May not be the talent that, hey he's going to

Speaker 9: have a top ten, season but you know he's going

Speaker 9: to keep you competitive ideally with that, roster keep you

Speaker 9: in the playoff.

Speaker 8: Mix and, honestly they didn't have a lot of better.

Speaker 9: Options you, Know Kyler murray was maybe the best other

Speaker 9: free agent quarterback, available but he seemed pretty closely tied To.

Speaker 9: Minnesota they could have taken a swing At Malik, willis

Speaker 9: which maybe would have given them more upside but a

Speaker 9: little less, certainty but it always seemed like their first

Speaker 9: choice Was. Rogers AND i Think mike McCarthy being the

Speaker 9: head coach, there the familiarity with playing and winning A

Speaker 9: Super bowl With, ROGERS i think helps them with the

Speaker 9: sort of one.

Speaker 8: Last dance with this current.

Speaker 9: Crew BUT i do think this window is, closing if

Speaker 9: it's not closed, already and you wonder if they don't

Speaker 9: do much this year And Aaron rodgers, retires what happens

Speaker 9: TO Tj, Watt what happens To Cam, hayward what happens

Speaker 9: To Jalen? Ramsey do all these guys leave? Too and

Speaker 9: does it, start you, know an actual rebuild In.

Speaker 8: Pittsburgh so this.

Speaker 9: Definitely has given me Last dance, vibes although Obviously Mike

Speaker 9: tomlin's not going to be there to coach.

Speaker 4: Him, yeah there's there were. Ten there was a big

Speaker 4: number this. Year ten head coaches changed changed. Over there's

Speaker 4: a lot of tid league. Record, yeah tied a league

Speaker 4: record for how many coaches you, know, Left and certainly

Speaker 4: there were some Unexpecteds Mike, Tomlin Jim, Harbaugh sean McDermott

Speaker 4: here In, buffalo three of the off the top that

Speaker 4: even at the end of the, season he didn't, think,

Speaker 4: well they're probably not going to make a, change but it.

Speaker 2: Happened how do.

Speaker 4: You think that affects the division? CHANGES i, mean you

Speaker 4: look at THE a and THE Nfc. North all of

Speaker 4: those teams had winning, records but nobody changed head. Coaches

Speaker 4: and for good. Reason give us an idea of what

Speaker 4: your thoughts are about the new head. Coaches who's going

Speaker 4: to be the most successful and which of those head

Speaker 4: coaches who left may resurface pretty.

Speaker 8: Quickly, yeah so it's interesting you mentioned.

Speaker 9: THAT i think the heaviness of the amount of coaches

Speaker 9: gone is almost tied to the way last season. WENT

Speaker 9: i think it was probably the most open season that

Speaker 9: people can.

Speaker 8: Remember there wasn't.

Speaker 9: The legacy, team The chiefs or The eagles or one

Speaker 9: of these teams that have been in The Super bowl

Speaker 9: so frequently that are representing. Teams it was The seahawks

Speaker 9: and The, patriots kind of upstarts.

Speaker 8: In their new.

Speaker 9: Regimes SO i think it gave teams a kind of

Speaker 9: a shot in the.

Speaker 8: Arm of, like we can go get this.

Speaker 9: Thing there's no, boogeyman we can, restart we can re

Speaker 9: energize ourselves and let's go get.

Speaker 8: It AND i think that's What buffalo's.

Speaker 9: DOING i think you're seeing several other teams that may

Speaker 9: thought were, close but we need a little extra, push you,

Speaker 9: know The ravens in the same. Boat SO i think

Speaker 9: what's going to be interesting is how much these teams

Speaker 9: change their. Identity we've known what A bills team has

Speaker 9: look like for a, while we've known what A ravens,

Speaker 9: team A steelers. Team how much does a new head

Speaker 9: coach change the identity of these, teams especially ones with

Speaker 9: those star, quarterbacks and is it enough to get them

Speaker 9: over the. Top and SO i think that's What i'm

Speaker 9: watching with these new head. Coaches who is their own

Speaker 9: man and who's more of an extension of what they've done.

Speaker 9: Previously and as far as the coaches that are, GONE

Speaker 9: i do Think sean McDermott will get back and. Coaching

Speaker 9: i'm curious what you know what HE i know he's

Speaker 9: done some medium work this past. Year is he only

Speaker 9: sat on coming back for a head coach job in twenty?

Speaker 9: Seven would he come for a defensive coordinator. Role i'm

Speaker 9: sure he'll have. Interest but we've seen in the past

Speaker 9: that there's a short window of time for these former

Speaker 9: head coaches to get back in before maybe it passes them.

Speaker 9: By having a conversation With Doug peterson about this recently

Speaker 9: where he was a former head coach and he said

Speaker 9: he was so stuck on getting a former head coach

Speaker 9: job and maybe if he had to do things, differently

Speaker 9: he might have taken AN oc job the year after

Speaker 9: and maybe he could have got his way back in

Speaker 9: instead kind of got pushed out and maybe he doesn't

Speaker 9: ever get back. In SO i think some of those

Speaker 9: coaches have a dilemma of you, know how much AM

Speaker 9: i tied to this head coach role versus how much

Speaker 9: AM i willing to kind of work my way back?

Speaker 4: Up.

Speaker 2: Cameron we know that The bengals have missed the playoffs

Speaker 2: each of the last two. Seasons injuries have played a

Speaker 2: big part of, that along with a substandard defense for

Speaker 2: lack of a better, Term they spent some money this,

Speaker 2: offseason also swung for a big player via a trade

Speaker 2: with the tenth overall pick going of The giants For Dexter.

Speaker 2: Lawrence but you Got Brian, cook a quality safety From

Speaker 2: Kansas city, boy a mafe and edge rusher From. Seattle Jonathan,

Speaker 2: allen you, know an anchor in the middle From. Minnesota So.

Speaker 4: I'm.

Speaker 2: Curious we Heard Joe burrow say this week that they

Speaker 2: have all the pieces they. Need he feels the defense

Speaker 2: is gonna be much. Improved but the proof is in the.

Speaker 2: Pudding Al golden HIS dc last year had a tough

Speaker 2: road to ho last. Year how bullish are you on

Speaker 2: The bengals being a contending team in THE afc again

Speaker 2: after a two year? Absence.

Speaker 9: YEAH i think there'll be a contending, team a playoff caliber.

Speaker 9: Team now are they enough to compete for A Super?

Speaker 9: BOWL i don't know if we're there. Yet i've got

Speaker 9: to see that. AGAIN i think their, defense although it'll be,

Speaker 9: better it's hard to go from maybe the league's worst

Speaker 9: defense to competent in one.

Speaker 8: OFFSEASON i think you may be.

Speaker 9: Make that step to maybe below average the next step

Speaker 9: and maybe you're a bottom ten team instead of a

Speaker 9: bottom two. Team AND i think that's their next. Journey

Speaker 9: they're in a tough. Division but can they win ten

Speaker 9: or eleven, games maybe make the, playoffs maybe win the?

Speaker 8: Division.

Speaker 9: SURE i think one thing that's going to be interesting

Speaker 9: Is Dexter. Lawrence for, Essentially Trey hendrickson was a philosophy.

Speaker 9: Change Trey hendrickson was a really elite pass, rusher but

Speaker 9: one thing that talking to offenses is he was a

Speaker 9: liability in the run. Game teams used to run at

Speaker 9: him all the. Time Dexter lawrence is a little bit

Speaker 9: of the, opposite maybe the best run defender in football

Speaker 9: an okay pass. Rusher they're transitioning to a team that's

Speaker 9: trying to stop the run first and maybe try to

Speaker 9: generate pressure with a little bit more of a. Blitz

Speaker 9: how does that philosophy change improve their. DEFENSE i think

Speaker 9: it's one of the early storylines That i'm. Watching but

Speaker 9: the WHOLE AFC norf is really a wide open category

Speaker 9: of which team with these these the franchise or veteran

Speaker 9: quarterbacks can lead. Them you, Know Lamar jackson a lot

Speaker 9: of questions for, Him Joe burrow a lot of questions for.

Speaker 8: Him Aaron, rodgers we talked about potential last.

Speaker 9: Ride which team kind of makes the best of a

Speaker 9: situation where the roster may not be a Super bowl,

Speaker 9: contender but you are good enough as a quarterback to

Speaker 9: maybe overcome some of your.

Speaker 4: Weaknesses let's talk a little bit about THE Afc. West

Speaker 4: certainly it's a division that has Given buffalo problems in

Speaker 4: the playoffs last year In denver and of course the

Speaker 4: years before. That with The Kansas City Chiefs Pat mahomes coming,

Speaker 4: back it looks like it's a race to the wires

Speaker 4: to whether he'll be ready on opening day or. Not The,

Speaker 4: raiders we've heard nothing but positive things coming out About,

Speaker 4: Mendoza Kirk cousins and how that race is gonna, go

Speaker 4: and how. Quickly mendoza comes off the bench out. There

Speaker 4: The chargers Under Jim, harbaugh who seem to, be you,

Speaker 4: know just kind of steadily moving along trying to get.

Speaker 4: Better Certainly herbert is going to play as good as

Speaker 4: he has played in the, past maybe better if they

Speaker 4: can get him some. Support give us a rundown on.

Speaker 4: That Is denver gonna stay at the top of that

Speaker 4: division or can The chiefs wrench it away from them? Again?

Speaker 9: YEAH i think it's the best division in. FOOTBALL i

Speaker 9: think there's so much talent.

Speaker 8: There you broke it down.

Speaker 9: Well denver is gonna have a very hard challenge because

Speaker 9: they really kind of peaked at the right time with

Speaker 9: a great. Defense the offense was very inconsistent throughout the,

Speaker 9: year but they were able to. SURVIVE i don't know

Speaker 9: if they can survive as frequently this year because of

Speaker 9: what you mentioned in THE Afc West. Race mahomes is

Speaker 9: going to be back and they should be a better

Speaker 9: overall offensive. Team, now they've got a little bit of offseason.

Speaker 9: Headaches they're dealing With Rashid rice right.

Speaker 8: Now they've got to.

Speaker 9: Go through the recovery Of, mahomes which from my, understanding

Speaker 9: they don't know yet if he'll be ready week.

Speaker 8: One it's just.

Speaker 9: Uncertainty it's too early to. Tell if he is, back

Speaker 9: he's likely not going to be the hard percent. Mahomes

Speaker 9: do they work him back in early in the. Season

Speaker 9: do they put him in a pup and start them In.

Speaker 9: OCTOBER i think The chiefs are gonna have some early season,

Speaker 9: questions but they had the longevity that we trust. Them

Speaker 9: but The, chargers to, me are such an interesting team

Speaker 9: because you add A mike, McDaniel who is an offensive.

Speaker 9: Wizard you may have questions about him as an overall head,

Speaker 9: coach but what he does as far as building offenses

Speaker 9: has been really. Impressive he gets a talented quarterback And Justin,

Speaker 9: herbert and maybe more, importantly the offensive line is. Healthy

Speaker 9: they were ravished with injuries With joe All Where Rashaun

Speaker 9: slater among. Them they get two excellent tackles, back they

Speaker 9: get their young. Quarterback i'm very intrigued to see how

Speaker 9: This chargers team takes on The, broncos even before.

Speaker 8: We get some.

Speaker 9: Homes and, then as you mentioned with The, raiders they

Speaker 9: may be a little bit away a year. Away sounds

Speaker 9: like they're going to Start Kirk cousins early on in the,

Speaker 9: season but they got better on the offensive, line which

Speaker 9: should Help ashton genty and Eventually Fernando mendoza there, too

Speaker 9: so very talented.

Speaker 8: DIVISION i Think denver's probably got one of the hardest

Speaker 8: challenges of any team to repeat is to bend the.

Speaker 9: Champs it wouldn't surprise me if they took a step,

Speaker 9: back just given the overall talent in The.

Speaker 2: West last one for, Me, cameron and, again thanks for the.

Speaker 2: TIME i just kind of watch your ten thousand foot

Speaker 2: view of The bills. Offseason we obviously know there was

Speaker 2: sweeping change on the defensive side of the, ball and

Speaker 2: So Jim leonard and that crew is going to be

Speaker 2: under the microscope, understandably would you say That trump's what

Speaker 2: people are going to be wondering About Joe brady as

Speaker 2: a first time head. Coach, like if you had to

Speaker 2: compare those two questions about The bills going into twenty twenty,

Speaker 2: six which one would take precedence over the. OTHER a

Speaker 2: brand new defense for the first time in a decade

Speaker 2: with a new play, caller Or Joe brady in the

Speaker 2: head coach seed calling the.

Speaker 9: Shots, yeah it's gonna Be Joe brady nationally just because

Speaker 9: we all care about the.

Speaker 8: Quarterback you guys.

Speaker 2: Know what it.

Speaker 9: Is It's Josh allen Is Joe brady is can they

Speaker 9: get over the? Top and the real answer for us

Speaker 9: that watched the team is the defense has largely been

Speaker 9: the biggest question mark of whether or not they get

Speaker 9: to the next. Step but this past, year if you're

Speaker 9: gonna be, honest it Was josh's. Turnovers it was some

Speaker 9: inconsistent play on offense that really cost them at the.

Speaker 9: End and so how much Does Joe brady Change and

Speaker 9: we've talked about changing.

Speaker 8: THIS i think that's the big question For Joe. BRADY

Speaker 8: i think there were a.

Speaker 9: Lot of people who were surprised by the HIGHER i

Speaker 9: think there's a lot of uncertainty about Who Joe brady.

Speaker 8: Is in this, role AND i think that he's figuring it.

Speaker 9: Out BUT i do like the early reviews talking to

Speaker 9: players about the energy that he brings in the. Building

Speaker 9: there's something to be said that sometimes you get to

Speaker 9: a place where things get a little, stale things get a,

Speaker 9: rigid And joe brings some, energy brings some, brightness And

Speaker 9: i'd imagine he's going to change a few things in

Speaker 9: the offseason in training camp to show his. Personality, now

Speaker 9: does that relate to? Change does that relate to? Wins

Speaker 9: does that relate to playoff? WINS i think that's how

Speaker 9: he's going to be. Defined but that's gonna be the bigger,

Speaker 9: story Whereas, Jim Jim leonard's journey may may take some

Speaker 9: months to be able to build that defense out the

Speaker 9: way he. WANTS i think week One buffalo defense is

Speaker 9: not going to be anywhere near the week seventeen. One

Speaker 9: SO i think that early on we probably expect some

Speaker 9: struggles from the defense as they learn a new, scheme

Speaker 9: as they. Adjust WHERE i think the expectation is week,

Speaker 9: One Josh allen And Joe brady are putting thirty points.

Speaker 4: Up, cameron thanks so, much, Appreciated thank you.

Speaker 2: Fellas All, right That's Cameron wilf joining us FROM Nfl

Speaker 2: network national reporter for them and kind enough to join

Speaker 2: us on short notice. Too we appreciate.

Speaker 4: It he. Was thanks for fittness In cameron. This, yeah

Speaker 4: that was.

Speaker 2: GREAT i always like to get his ten thousand foot few,

Speaker 2: because as you, know you AND i kind of suffer

Speaker 2: From bill's myopia sometimes and SO i kind of want

Speaker 2: to get the back zoomed out, view and, obviously because

Speaker 2: camera's got to cover the entire, league he's got to

Speaker 2: do it that. Way AND i realize that this league

Speaker 2: is Large the focus of the attention in this league

Speaker 2: is largely on quarterbacks and head. Coaches SO i understand

Speaker 2: why he, Said Joe, brady but we know that a

Speaker 2: lot of the shortcomings in the playoffs for The bills

Speaker 2: have been tied to the defensive. Performances last year's probably the,

Speaker 2: exception four turnovers in the divisional, playoff and the defense

Speaker 2: only gave up thirteen points off four. TURNOVERS i don't

Speaker 2: know IF i would pin it on the defense per.

Speaker 2: Se they're partly, responsible BUT i don't know if they

Speaker 2: were as largely responsible as they have been in recent.

Speaker 2: Years all that being, said this is the biggest change

Speaker 2: this defense is undergoing in a, decade and it's going

Speaker 2: to take some time to get that to a consistent

Speaker 2: level of play that helps them win games week in

Speaker 2: and week. Out you know What i'm.

Speaker 4: SAYING i know exactly what you're, saying BUT i don't.

Speaker 4: KNOW i kind of agree With cameron because of the

Speaker 4: effect that the head coach has on every aspect of the.

Speaker 4: Organization it's gonna be vastly different With Joe brady at the.

Speaker 4: Helm Certainly Jim leonard's gonna have a lot to say

Speaker 4: about how it. Goes but most, defenses even the ones last,

Speaker 4: year we went through the same. Thing you got to

Speaker 4: you got to find your way as a defense early,

Speaker 4: on find out who can, play who can't, play what

Speaker 4: new players are going to contribute more than we thought they,

Speaker 4: did and which old players are going to contribute less

Speaker 4: than we thought they. Would all that stuff goes into the,

Speaker 4: mix mostly on the defensive side because it's such a

Speaker 4: reactive side of the, football and you don't know what

Speaker 4: you've got until you see what teams think of your,

Speaker 4: Talent and as the season wears, on you understand where

Speaker 4: teams see you and where they think you're, weak and

Speaker 4: now you can still to fix. It. Right, so, yes

Speaker 4: that's true about the defensive, Side but the head coach

Speaker 4: is set deciding stuff On you'd be hard pressed to

Speaker 4: convince most people That sean McDermott didn't have a hand

Speaker 4: in the fifty to fifty run pass percentage this team

Speaker 4: was under for last. YEAR i Know James cook benefited

Speaker 4: and he was a great running, back but most teams

Speaker 4: are not gonna with a quarterback Like Josh, allen are

Speaker 4: not handing it off like, that no matter who's playing running,

Speaker 4: back they just. Won't if that's A sean McDermott decision

Speaker 4: or A Joe brady. Decision we're gonna find that. Out

Speaker 4: and that's one of the storylines is going to follow

Speaker 4: this team. Throughout and that's not just about run. Pass

Speaker 4: it's also about defensive aggression and chan chance taking and

Speaker 4: special teams chance taking and gambles and going forward when

Speaker 4: you shouldn't go, forward or going forward when you should

Speaker 4: and not going for it when you. Shouldn't all that

Speaker 4: stuff is in the, mix and that all falls under

Speaker 4: the head, coach AND i think that's why the storyline

Speaker 4: is going to be more About Joe brady than it

Speaker 4: is the changeover on.

Speaker 2: Defense break time for us here when we come. Back

Speaker 2: some final questions from the obl fan mail. Bag when

Speaker 2: we get back here on A thursday edition Of One

Speaker 2: Bills live from The Bills store On Avid. Road all

Speaker 2: right back here on One Bills, Live Chris, Brown Steve

Speaker 2: tasker with you one seconds. AGO a reminder we will

Speaker 2: not be on the air tomorrow or on Holiday, monday

Speaker 2: we have no shows as we will be off for

Speaker 2: the long holiday. Weekend you can rejoin our show On

Speaker 2: tuesday and we will obey back on the, air just

Speaker 2: a programming no for. You final question from the Mailbag

Speaker 2: steve comes From. Joe have either of you Seen Tyler

Speaker 2: bass kick so far at the OTAs if, so how

Speaker 2: does he look and how does the punter we drafted,

Speaker 2: look both as a punter and as a. Holder haven't

Speaker 2: had a chance to see him AT ota, practice but

Speaker 2: we have seen a lot Of Tyler bass in the

Speaker 2: fieldhouse because it's right next to our. Office AND i

Speaker 2: don't know if his leg strength is all the way back,

Speaker 2: yet but he is comfortably, kicking you, know forty five

Speaker 2: forty eight yarders right.

Speaker 4: Now he's been in and around the building almost all off,

Speaker 4: season and he's ON i think that his rehab or

Speaker 4: is going the way they wanted to. GO i have

Speaker 4: not had a chance to talk to him, yet but

Speaker 4: we will in the next few weeks and we'll see.

Speaker 4: Him and as a, holder don't, WORRY i MEAN i.

Speaker 4: Did that can't be that hard to. Hold So dolman's

Speaker 4: going to be fine as doing. That the more red

Speaker 4: you can, get the better and, yeah they'll be fine

Speaker 4: that the operation will be, yeah smoothed.

Speaker 2: Out and don't forget there will be competition at punter

Speaker 2: Because Mitch, wishnowski who was the veteran punter called in

Speaker 2: as the third punter last. Season, uh they Had Cameron,

Speaker 2: johnston they had the kid before, Him, Robbins Red. Robins.

Speaker 2: Yeah So wishnowski was the third punter here last year

Speaker 2: and did a pretty good, job probably the best of the. Three.

Speaker 4: Yeah they he stuck. Around they made sure he didn't

Speaker 4: go anywhere they he, Signed so there'll be a competition for.

Speaker 4: It But doman obviously is AN i, mean he's a, big,

Speaker 4: tall lanky dude with a big, swing so he's the

Speaker 4: hangtime you, want, uh and the big. Leg But wishnowski

Speaker 4: did a nice job last.

Speaker 8: Year.

Speaker 4: Yeah so, so BUT i would not sweat the operation

Speaker 4: for the field. Goals they'll get that wired and wired.

Speaker 2: In, yeah BUT i think there'll be an absolute punter

Speaker 2: competition here in training. Camp, Obviously Tommy dolman was a draft,

Speaker 2: choice so there's some skin in the game there for The. Bills,

Speaker 2: obviously in terms of the investment that they. Made but

Speaker 2: he's going to have to Outperform weshnowski if he wants

Speaker 2: to be on the active. Roster so that's the question.

Speaker 2: There BUT i think it's going to be a fervent punting.

Speaker 2: Competition and obviously people are intrigued About Tyler bass because

Speaker 2: he's coming back from an injury that cost him the

Speaker 2: entire twenty twenty five. SEASON i, mean he, tried like

Speaker 2: The dickens to come back from that injury last, year

Speaker 2: but every time he, did there'd be more swelling and

Speaker 2: inflammation in his pelvic, area and that makes kicking difficult

Speaker 2: and it made it. Unsustainable so he had to shut

Speaker 2: it down last. Year and now he's trying to come

Speaker 2: back and there's no other kicker on the roster right,

Speaker 2: now so it's his, show right.

Speaker 4: Right that's not like they don't have phone.

Speaker 2: Numbers, well that's. True you, know you can't dismiss that

Speaker 2: it's a cutthrow. League we know that probably.

Speaker 4: As big a question mark as there is going into

Speaker 4: training camp right.

Speaker 2: Now, yeah but hopefully he's good to go and he

Speaker 2: has no. Setbacks one other programming note our latest edition
